My passenger airbag light has been on ever since I've owned this vehicle starting January of 2019. I see there has been an open recall on this since May of 2016, which means it hasn't been solved in over 5 years. I feel less comfortable about driving my partner around in my van knowing her airbag may not go off in the event of an accident.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan NV200. The contact stated that the airbag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that there was no recall on the VIN. The failure mileage was approximately 104,116.
REAR AIR CONDITIONER WILL NOT COOL, EVEN WITH WARRANTY WORK, NISSAN NEVER FIXED IT. THIS IS A PERVASIVE PROBLEM WITH MOST VANS OF THIS MODEL.
THE REAR AC BLOWER MOTOR DIED FOR THE SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN A YEAR. THIS PASSENGER VEHICLE IS THE ONLY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION FOR MY FAMILY WITH 7 SMALL CHILDREN RANGING IN AGE FROM 10 MONTHS TO 11 YEARS OLD. YESTERDAY AND TODAY, THE TEMPERATURE IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE HAS REACHED 104 DEGREES INSIDE (86 DEGREES OUTSIDE) WHILE THE AC IS RUNNING ON ITS HIGHEST SETTING IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH NISSAN. THEIR AUTO TECH SAID EVERYONE WHO PURCHASES THIS VEHICLE COMES BACK WITHIN A COUPLE OF YEARS TO HAVE THIS PART REPLACED. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSOCIATE RECOMMENDED THAT I CONTACT YOU TO FILE A COMPLAINT BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL UNLESS THEY ARE DIRECTED TO DO SO BY YOU. PLEASE HELP FAMILIES LIKE MINE. HOT VEHICLES ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR CHILDREN. PLEASE DO NOT LET SOMEONE LOSE A CHILD BECAUSE OF A FAULTY PART THAT NISSAN AND THE NHTSA KNOWS ABOUT BUT REFUSES TO RECALL. *TR
LITTLE TO NO AIR COMING OUT OF THE REAR AIR VENTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN NV200. WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND THE POWER STEERING SEIZED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE FUSE TO THE FUEL PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR DUE TO THE NUMBER OF RECALLS HE FOUND. THE CONTACT CALLED KINGS NISSAN (2758 CONEY ISLAND AVE, BROOKLYN, NY 11235, (718) 934-3300) AND VOICED HIS CONCERNS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND ASSIGNED A SPECIALIST TO CALL THE CONTACT BACK IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE MY AIR BAG LIGHT CONTINUED TO FLASH. I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP AND INFORMED THEM OF THE ISSUE AND THEY SATED THEY NEEDED TO RUN DIAGNOTICS. AFTER RECEIVING THE VEHICLE BACK THE DEALER STATED IT WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE NEEDED TO THE VEHICLE TO COMPLY WITH THE AIR BAG STANDARD. I WAS CHARGED 130.00 USD TO BE TOLD THERE ITEMS NEEDED AN UPDATE.
OCS RECALL 5/23/16, PARTS TO RESOLVE STILL NOT AVAILABLE....
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN NV200. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS) AND STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
1) SIDE MIRRORS DO NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE VIEW. AT NIGHT, MULTIPLE IMAGES OF HEADLIGHTS MAKE IT VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE WHERE OTHER VEHICLES ARE LOCATED. 2) SUN VISOR IS TOO SHORT TO BLOCK SUN FROM DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW EVEN WITH THE SEAT PULLED ALL THE WAY FORWARD. (I TRIED MAKING ADJUSTMENTS AND THEN THOUGHT I MIGHT GET USED TO IT BUT AFTER DRIVING FOR SIX MONTHS THESE DEFICIENCIES CONTINUE TO BE A HAZARD.)
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN NV200. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED AND THE VEHICLE HESITATED. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. AFTER RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
ON-GOING ISSUE. PASSENGER'S AIR BAG WARNING THAT THE AIRBAG IS "OFF" IS LIT WHEN MY SPOUSE IS IN THE SEAT. THIS PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT, BUT OCCURS CLOSE TO 50% OF THE TIME. THE FIRST TIME THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE NISSAN SHOP, THE TECH SAID THAT "HE COULD REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM" AND THAT IT WAS RESOLVED BY "RESETTING THE COMPUTER". THE SECOND TIME IN THE SHOP, WE WERE TOLD THAT MY WIFE'S WEIGHT, ~100 LBS, WAS BORDERLINE FOR THE SENSOR AND THAT WE SHOULD EXPECT THE OBSERVED INTERMITTENT BEHAVIOR. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO SUPPLY ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THE DOT GUIDANCE ON THE PASSENGER'S WEIGHT AT WHICH THE AIR BAG SHOULD BE DISABLED.
PURCHASED VEHICLE NEW WEAR ON TIRES FRONT VERY BAD ROTATED TIRES AT 5000 MILES REAR TIRES AND FRONT TIRES WEAR RATE AT 17000 MILES HAD TO REPLACE TIRES AT THREE MONTHS AND 17000 MILES TIRE PRESSURE NORMAL OPERATING PRESSURES AND TEMPERTURES
VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE TRAVELING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. ENGINE WAS RUNNING BUT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE WHEN STEPPING DOWN ON ACCELERATOR. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST THREE (3) WEEKS AND AT LEAST A HALF-DOZEN TIMES IN THE LAST TWO (2) MONTHS. THIS VEHICLE IS A 2014 NISSAN NV200 TAXI S 2WD. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO MY GARAGE MECHANICS WHO ARE BAFFLED AND TURNED OVER TO THE DEALERSHIP (KOEPPEL NISSAN, LONG ISLAND CITY, NY) WHO ARE ALSO BAFFLED. BOTH MY GARAGE MECHANICS AND THE SERVICE PEOPLE AT KOEPPEL STATE THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ONGOING AND TROUBLESOME PROBLEM FLEET WIDE WITH THIS MODEL BUT NISSAN HAS YET EITHER NOT COMPLETELY ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM OR DEVELOPED AN ADEQUATE FIX.
AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN AN ADULT IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. NOT SURE IF THAT MEANS NO AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CASA NISSAN, WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED, IN EL PASO, TX WITH THE COMPLAINT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN NV200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
WE BOUGHT OUR NV200 IN JULY BRAND NEW AND TODAY WE NOTICED THAT BOTH FRONT TIRES ARE EXTREMELY WORN WITH VIRTUALLY NO TREAD. THE TIRE PRESSURE WAS PERFECT. WE'VE BEEN READING ONLINE THAT THIS APPEARS TO BE A SYSTEMIC ISSUE AS THERE ARE DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS THE TIRES ARE SHOWING METAL AND WORN OUT BY 17,000 MILES. OUR DRIVERS ARE AT EXTREME RISK. *TR
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH DASH LIGHTS REFLECTING ON THE DRIVER LEFT SIDE WINDOW THAT INTERFERE WITH THE ABILITY TO SEE IMAGES IN THE LEFT DRIVER SIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR AT NIGHT. TURNING DOWN THE INTENSITY OF THE DASH LIGHTS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PROBLEM. ONLY TOTALLY DIMMING THE DASH LIGHTS REMOVE THE REFLECTION. THEN THE INSTRUMENT LIGHTS CANNOT BE SEEN. THIS PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR WITH THE 2003 SPRINTER VAN THAT I PREVIOUSLY DROVE. I WOULD HOPE NISSAN CAN DEVELOP A CORRECTION. THIS CONDITION IS A MAJOR IRRITANT TO ME. I FIRST NOTICED THE PROBLEM WHEN I FIRST DROVE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT.
