Driving the car and suddenly it began to stall, next engine light came on, stability light came on, engine overheating waring came on, radio turned off, ac stopped working, smelling antifreeze, car shakes, power stalls when accellerating, smoke exited the engine, oil leaked and finally car stopped. AAA got car took it to a mechanic and rebuilt whole cylinder head. Now I received a letter from GM stating something wrong with PCV valve, and same thing is happening again same senerio just 4 months after getting fixed.

On many occasions the car would be at a stop and start shaking violently, then it would stall out no matter where I was. The engine light came on so I went to see what it was, at first I thought it was the air filter, changed that, then it was the mass airflow sensor changed that then it started doing it again, then it was the O2 sensor and it worked for a day or 2. Now if the AC is on it shakes violently again and if I am at a stop it still will stall out.

Without warning, the mylink display first went black as i was making a left turn and disconnected from bluetooth. Within seconds the steering wheel got really stiff and it almost felt like the whole power shut off from the car but came back to normal within seconds and kept doing this for 3 more times, each lasting maybe 5 seconds. Very scary.

The car was a total loss due to a MVA which involved this car only. The car hydroplaned, it spun and the traction control light was blinking. The front of the car hit the guardrail, spun, and then the back end hit the guardrail. At this point, all the dash lights were blinking and the car dead in the road. The flashers were turned on but due to the car dead, there were no flashers on and the car was stuck in the fast lane of a three lane highway in the dark and pouring rain. The air bags never deployed nor did the seatbelt tighten up. Components that failed: flashers, airbags, seatbelts, etc. Safety: could not alert other drivers that the car was in the road and was almost struck by a tractor trailer and other cars. Problem was reported to the insurance company who claimed it as a total loss. The police were called to the scene of the accident so there is a police report. The traction control warning light lit when the car hydroplaned. All the lights on the dash started flashing when it hit the guardrail, then after that, unsure when the car died and no power. The tow truck driver could not turn the steering wheel when he tried to pull it up the flat bed.

The driver side seat belt did not lock in time like it was supposed to when i got rear ended today, causing my head the hit the steering wheel very very hard. I wouldn't have hit the steering wheel if my seat belt would have locked in place like its supposed to. It has not been confirmed or reproduced by a service center. The car is now being inspected by the police, and the insurance representatives. No warning lamps were on, and there wasn't any kind of messages or any other symptoms prior to the failure.

The windshield wiper transmission failed on my ‘15 Cruze in the middle of a rain storm caused my Hurricane Ida. The problem has been confirmed by my husband who is a mechanic at a Chevrolet dealership. No warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem were present prior to the onset of the problem. It had been raining a lot due to Hurricane Ida, the last time I used my wipers they worked fine. When it started raining again I tried to cut my wipers on and only my driver side wiper worked. My passenger side wiper stayed in its downward resting position and did not move or make any noises.

TOOK IT TO MECHANIC OUTSIDE THE LHM PERVIEW AND MECHANIC STATED: LEAKING COOLANT ON TRANSMISSION HOUSING AND POOLING THERE DRAIN PLUG STRIPPED OUT CAUSING MASSIVE OIL LEAK AND PCV BAD NEEDS REPLACED. THE NEW MECHANIC REPLACED THE OIL PAN AND GAVE ESTIMATES FOR THE PARTS AND LABOR FOR THE PCV AND THE COOLANT LEAK. NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG I LOVE MY CRUZE BUT I WAS TOLD ID BE CLOSE TO WHAT I OWE ON THE CAR TO REPAIR IT AS CHEVROLET WILL NOT DO A RECALL ON THE MASSIVE ISSUE PARTS, THERE IS ONLY 59,213 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THERE OTHERS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THAT PARTICULAR CAR.I LOVE THE CHEVROLET BRAND. I HAVE TWO CHEVY CARS THAT I LOVE WHICH ARE MY IMPALA AND MY CRUZE. I HAD MY IMPALA FOR ALMOST EIGHT YEARS NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE DRAIN PLUG BEING STRIPPED. I WAS IN MY YARD DAY COMING BACK FROM AN OIL CHANGE AND SAW A PUDDLE OF OIL IN MY FRONT YARD. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT EXAMINED AND THEY SAID FIX THE PROBLEM. LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN DROVE OFF NOTICE THAT IT WAS STILL LEAKING. THIS TIME I TOOK IT BACK AGAIN THEY HAD TO GIVE ME AN EXPANDED DRAIN PLUG TO FIX THE ISSUE. THE PROBLEM HAVE BEEN RESOLVED FOR THE MOMENT. IF I WAS AWARE OF THE OIL LEAKING OUT IT COULD HAVE BLOWN MY ENGINE WHICH WOULD'VE CAUSE ME TO LOSE MY CAR. I FEEL THE OIL PAN THAT ARE ON THE CRUZES SHOULD BE DESIGN A CERTAIN WAY SO THE ISSUES WOULDN'T HAVE TO ARISE.

THE MOST RECENT ISSUE IS THE TURBOCHARGER BYPASS VALVE. I HAD IT REPLACED ON 6/27/20 AND THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON WITH THE SAME CODE ON 6/28/20. WHEN I HAD WORK DONE AT THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP IN AUGUST/SEPTEMBER OF 2019 I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THEY ARE SEEING IN ALMOST ALL CHEVY CRUZES. I'VE BEEN TOLD THIS AT 5+ DIFFERENT DEVICE CENTERS WHILE GETTING REPAIRS DONE ON THE ENGINE OR GENERAL MAINTENANCE DONE. THE CAR HASN'T EVEN REACHED 100,000 MILES AND I'M BEING TOLD I PROBABLY NEED A NEW ENGINE. THIS IS NOT OK. I'VE BOUGHT AND REPAIRED THIS CAR AT CHEVY DEALERSHIPS. THE MECHANICS CHECKED THE CODES AND FOUND THAT, A ENGINE MISFIRE WAS DETECTED, THE FUEL INJECTOR CONTROL MOD WAS NOT AVAILABLE, OR THERE WAS A COMMUNICATION PROBLEM, THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE, THE DIGITAL RADIO RECEIVER CONTROLLER WAS NOT AVAILABLE, OR WAS EXPERIENCING A COMMUNICATION PROBLEM, AND THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL WAS DISPLAYING FAILURES IN AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT, AND LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE HVAC CONTROL MODULE. IT TURNS OUT THAT DUE TO A MANUFACTURER ERROR (CHEVY/ GENERAL MOTORS) THAT THE CARS IGNITION COIL TOWERS HAD BURNED OFF ON CYLINDERS 2 & 4 AND HAD TAKEN OUT THE SPARK PLUGS AS WELL. I PULLED OVER AND COOLANT WAS QUICKLY DRIPPING OUT FROM UNDER THE CAR. THE RADIATOR WAS CRACKED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME I NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE WAS NOISY AND THERE WAS A SCREECHY SOUND UPON ACCELERATION. I HAD TROUBLE PICKING UP SPEED. I GOT TO THE GAS STATION ABOUT A MILE AWAY AND TURNED OFF THE CAR TO GET GAS. WHEN I TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHAKE, REV UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN, AND THEN CUT OFF. SINCE BUYING IT, MY WATER PUMP FAILED TWICE, CAMSHAFT COVER REPLACED TWICE, THERMOSTAT REPLACED, OIL TUBE AND PAN REPLACED TWICE, COOLANT TUBE REPLACED ONCE. EVERY TIME I BROUGHT IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP, I REPORTED THE CAR'S PROBLEM OF IDLING ROUGH WHILE IN DRIVE AT A STOP LIGHT OR IN PARK IN MY DRIVEWAY AND EVERY TIME, THE DEALERSHIP REPORTED THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. WHEN I WAS TOLD MY TURBO HAD FAILED, THEY SAID THAT'S WHY MY CAR WAS IDLING ROUGH. EVERY TIME ONE OF THESE PROBLEMS OCCURRED, I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. THE VIBRATION THEY SAID WAS A PEBBLE GOT UNDER MOTOR MOUNT & WAS CAUSING VIBRATION. HE GOT THE PEBBLE OUT & READJUSTED. A WEEK LATER WAS DOING IT AGAIN & THE TICKING NOISE WAS ALOT WORSE. HE FINALLY CHANGED THE PURGE SOLENOID & IT STILL TICKED BUT NOT NEARLY AS BAD. BUT HE SAID HE COULDN'T HEAR THE NOISE AT 60 MPH & ONLY A LITTLE OF THE VIBRATION IN PEDAL. I'M REALLY REGRETTING BUYING THIS CAR. IF I KNEW IT WOULD HAVE ALL THESE ISSUES I COULD OF KEPT DRIVING MY OLDER CAR WITH NO CAR PAYMENT. PURGE VALVE ON A 2015 CHEVY CRUZE 1.4 ECOTEC TURBO WITH 65,000 MILES. STARTED AS A SMALL LITTLE TICKING NOISE THEN ITS BEEN GETTING LOUDER. AT THE TIME I DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT, HAD IT LOOKED IT BY MECHANICS BUT THE CAR WAS NOT THROWING ANY CODES. TOLD IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LIFTER... BUT THEN THE TICKING NOISE JUST GOT LOUDER AND MY CAR STARTED USING MORE FUEL AND WASN'T RUNNING RIGHT. MY CAR HAS TRIED SHUTTING DOWN (DYING) IN AN INTERSECTION, SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT ALSO. WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND OR EVEN CITY STREETS FEELS LIKE THE CAR IS CUTTING IN AND OUT. RPM'S ARE NOT STEADY, WILL BOUNCE FROM 700 RPM TO 400 RPM WHILE SITTING STILL. ROUGH IDLE ALSO. THE SOUND CONTINUED TO GET WORSE NOW SOUNDS LIKE A MARBLE BOUNCING AROUND IN THE VALVE. NOW THAT I HAVE FIGURED OUT THAT IT IS THE PURGE VALVE I AM BUYING THE PURGE VALVE TO GET IT FIXED. FROM THE RESEARCH THAT I HAVE DONE THIS PART COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE CAR STALLING OUT AND OR DYING ON THE HIGHWAY OR IN A INTERSECTION. PRETTY SURE THAT WHAT IS LEFT OF MY WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THIS PART, I WOULDN'T THINK THAT A CAR THAT IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND ONLY 65,000 MILES ON IT WOULD HAVE THIS KIND OF AN ISSUE AND THIS KIND OF AN ISSUE THAT WOULD NOT THROW A CODE LIKE A SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT OR SOMETHING. NOW I AM BEING TOLD BY CHEVROLET THAT IT COULD BE 3 -4 MONTHS BEFORE THEY CAN GET THE PART. CHEVROLET CORPORATE SAID THAT THE PART WAS FAULTY AND THEY DON'T HAVE A REPLACEMENT PART. THIS PART IS THE FUEL LINE AND FUEL RAIL. CHEVROLET DOES NOT HAVE THE PART NEI5ER HAVE THEY DONE A RECALL. THEY REFUSE TO COMPENSATE ME FOR BEING WITH OUT THE CAR.

I BOUGHT A 2015 CHEVROLET CRUZE ON NOVEMBER 13, 2105. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES STARTING ABOUT ONE MONTH AFTER THE PURCHASE. I HAVE BEEN TO FOUR DEALERSHIPS TO HAVE IT REPAIRED, AND IT COMES BACK WITH NO ISSUES FOR ABOUT TWO TO FOUR WEEKS AND THE NIGHTMARES START OVER AGAIN. THE NEWEST ISSUE IS A SAFETY MATTER. MY CAR DECIDED TO KEEP MY LOCKED INSIDE THE CAR. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS TO OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR IT FINALLY OPENED. (IN MY OWN DRIVEWAY) LAST WEEK I WAS SITTING SIDEWAYS. IN THE DRIVERS SEAT, WITH THE DRIVER DOOR OPEN AND MY FEET WERE ON THE GROUND. I WAS POSTIONED AS SUCH FOR ABOUT FIVE MINS. ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD THE SOUND OF THE DOORS LOCKING, THEN FIVE SWISHING NOISES FOLLOWED BY A DOUBLE LOCK SOUND, IN WHICH ALL FOUR LOCK BUTTONS WENT DOWN. (PARKING LOT AT WORK) THE NEXT DAY PERSON WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, WITH CAR SHUT OFF, AND SHE HEARD A MUTED LOCK SOUND, THEN A BRIEF HUMMING NOISE, THEN THE CAR MADE THE DOUBLE LOCKING SOUND BUT NONE OF THE BUTTONS WENT DOWN. (AT A GAS STATION) ALL THREE INCIDENTS OCCURED WHILE THE KEYS WERE IN MY HAND, AND IGNITION OFF. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, FOR THE PASSENGERS OF THIS VEHICLE. AS FOR ALL THE DOORS STAYING LOCKED WHILE INSIDE, I'M SO GLAD IT WAS ONLY 84 DEGREES, AND THAT I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. I HAVE REOPENED MY CASE WITH LEMON LAW AS THIS IS ONE OF THE MANY THINGS THAT OCCUR WITH THIS VEHICLE.

THE CAR HAS TROUBLE STARTING OFTEN AND SOMETIMES WILL NOT START. THE BATTERY HAS BEEN TESTED AND IS FINE AS WELL AS THE ALTERNATOR. SOMETIMES THE RADIO WILL SHUT OFF AND NOT COME BACK ON UNTIL THE NEXT DAY EVEN AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. THE LARGEST AND MOST DANGEROUS ISSUE I HAVE HAD WITH MY VEHICLE IS THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKING UP WHILE TURNING. THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T START ON ONE OCCASION OR EVEN ATTEMPT TO START AND THE KEY WAS LOCKED IN THE IGNITION FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES BEFORE FINALLY THE LIGHTS ALL CAME BACK ON IN THE CAR AND IT STARTED BACK.

MY CAR HAD COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHICH HAD DISABLED THE POWER STEERING. AS SOON AS I REALIZED WHAT HAD HAPPENED THE POWER CAME BACK ON AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE OFF. I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE MECHANICS SAID THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE AND ADVISED ME TO COME BACK THE NEXT MORNING AS IT WAS LATER IN THE EVENING AND THE MAIN MECHANICS HAD GONE HOME. THERE WERE NO INDICATOR LIGHTS ON WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I REALIZED AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT ON THE DASHBOARD THERE WAS A MESSAGE TO ROLL MY DRIVER WINDOW DOWN AND BACK UP. THE SERVICE ADVISER TOLD ME THIS WAS TO RESET OR REPROGRAM THE VEHICLE SINCE IT HAD SHUT DOWN. THEY DID HAVE ME OPEN THE HOOD TO SEE IF ANY WIRES APPEARED TO BE LOOSE. HOWEVER, THEY MECHANIC INDICATED THAT EVERYTHING LOOKED BRAND NEW, THE ENGINE WAS CLEAN AND IN PRISTINE CONDITION, AND HE NOTED THAT ALL OF THE NUMBER ON THE PARTS WERE STILL VISIBLE. I LEFT AND HAD TO GO TO THE STORE. WHILE PARKED, AND ON THE PHONE, AGAIN VIA BLUETOOTH, EXPLAINING TO MY MOTHER WHAT HAD HAPPENED, MY RADIO COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. TWO TIMES IN PRIOR WEEKS MY RADIO HAD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALL OF THESE INSTANCES ONLY LASTED A FEW SECONDS. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR ONLY 1 MONTH. ( THEY SAID GAUGE IS DESIGNED THIS WAY) GM AND DEALER SAY SYSTEM IS WORKING AS DESIGNED BUT HAVEN'T EXPLAINED FAN OPERATION OR WHY TEMPERATURE GETS TO 236 DEG F WHEN NORMAL TEMPERATURE IS 221 DEG F. THE SPEEDOMETER IN THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN A VERY DANGEROUS WAY. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SAFELY VIEW THE SPEEDOMETER WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. AS A CONSEQUENCE, DRIVING THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIVALENT TO DRIVING A VEHICLE WHICH HAS NO SPEEDOMETER. THE SPEEDOMETER OF THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED FAR TO THE RIGHT OF CENTER IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE TEMPERATURE AND FUEL GAGES ARE LOCATED IN THE CENTER. WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SAFELY VIEW THE SPEEDOMETER. IT REQUIRES THE DRIVER TO 1) LOWER HIS VIEW FROM THE WINDSHIELD, 2) TRACK HIS VIEW TO THE RIGHT UNTIL THE SPEEDOMETER COMES INTO VIEW, 3) MOVE HIS HEAD AROUND BECAUSE THE SPEEDOMETER IS OBSTRUCTED BY THE UPPER RIGHT QUADRANT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. READING THIS SPEEDOMETER REQUIRES THE DRIVER TO LOOK AWAY FROM THE ROADWAY FOR A DANGEROUS INTERVAL OF TIME. EVEN WORSE, WHEN THE DRIVER LIFTS HIS GAZE BACK TO THE WINDSHIELD, HE NOT LOOKING AT THE CENTER OF HIS TRACK, BUT OVER THE VEHICLES RIGHT FRONT HEADLIGHT TOWARDS THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THIS VEHICLE IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I DROVE THIS VEHICLE AS A RENTAL CAR. WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM STARTED TO TELL HER TO TURN LEFT AND RIGHT IN ERROR BECAUSE IT WAS SHOWING US ABOUT A HUNDRED FEET OFF THE HIGHWAY ON SMALL SERVICE ROADS. IT WAS INCORRECTLY TRYING TO ROUTE US BACK TO WHERE WE WERE ALREADY. THIS WAS CONFUSING FOR HER AND CAUSED HER TO SLOW DOWN IN TRAFFIC AND BECOME DISTRACTED CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD AS SHE HAD TO IGNORE DIRECTIONS FROM THE SCREEN POPPING UP AND THE SPEAKER AND TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHERE TO GO. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN USING THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM. WE TOOK THE CAR TO GM DEALERSHIP AND THEY GAVE US A DOCUMENT FROM GM #PIC6057A DATED APRIL 27, 2015. THIS SAYS THIS PROBLEM IS COMMON WITH 2015 BUICK ENCORE AND VERANO, 2015 CHEVY CAMARO, CRUZE, EQUINOX, MALIBU, SS AND VOLT AND FINALLY THE 2015 GMC TERRAIN WITH THE NAVI. IT SAYS THE NAVI CAN BE OFF BY 20-50 METERS. IT FINALLY SAYS THIS IS THE NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE AND WILL NOT IMPACT PERFORMANCE. I BELIEVE THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHEN DRIVERS ARE IN TRAFFIC AND LISTENING TO THE NAVI THAT IS CONFUSED BY READING THE WRONG LOCATION. THIS ERROR/PROBLEM SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED NORMAL OPERATING CONDITION AND ONLY SHARED WITH DEALERS FOR CUSTOMERS THAT COMPLAIN. Also, certain 2013 Buick Encore, 2011 Buick Regal, 2013-2014 Buick Verano, 2011-2016 Chevrolet Cruze, 2010-2013 Chevrolet Equinox 2013-2015 Chevrolet Malibu, and 2011-2013 GMC Terrain vehicles may have been serviced with similar defective replacement electronic park lock levers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
