The trunk will not open and if you force it open it will not close back. This has happened several times now and I’m not able to get into my trunk.
During the automatic start/stop function, the car stalls out after it stops itself. For example, I exited an interstate and came to a red stoplight. The car engaged the fuel saving system and shut down the engine. However, after I tried to press the gas to get the car to reengage, the car completely shut down requiring me to put the car in park on an exit ramp and re crank the car to get it to start again. Batteries were tested and no one can figure out what the problem is.
On 11-11-21 my check engine light came on and message came up reducing engine power and also my speed was reduced. Stability track light came on. Took to shop they repaired but a week later same exact problems occurred. Took back to shop. So far hasn’t happened again. My husband Chevy equinox all of a sudden car does the same exact thing. The check engine light went off so he’s watching it

P16cf dtc and check engine light after some engine noise and an incident where I was trying to accelerate around an obstacle but was unable to. The car bottomed out and would not accelerate until I took my foot off the gas and tried again more slowly. It's an issue with the intake solenoid rocker arm (oil control valve). The issue with this particular part was noted on earlier Malibu models but not mine. I have not taken it to the dealer yet as I am out of the power train warranty.
My 2015 Malibu continues to have problems. I have a constant P Code (P2635) that refers to the fuel pump (Low Performance). The Malibu has the auto stop but at times the vehicle wants to lunge forward. It also at a stop not only goes to the auto stop (engine ) but cut off all the way . Which this result in having to place the car back in park to re-start. I have seen a youtube video of a hotspot (wear) on the wiring harness that is located in the right rear fender well that this blue and white wire was worn and broken possible causing this problem. Other that this issue the vehicle is good and still gets around 35mpg.

This 2015 Chevy Malibu has been serviced over 10 ten times for a stalling/check engine issue(s). Sometimes the check engine light will activate after stalling and other times it will not. This vehicle has only had 1 owner since the initial purchase with on-star showing all the times/dates that a problem was detected and reported via email (on star). The dealership has had ample attempts to fix the issues with the vehicle, as well as private ASE certified mechanic/shop after the issues continued with this problem vehicle. This vehicle is a lemon, it is not dependable, and the stalling issues seem to be an on-going issue with GM Chevy Malibu. On 05/15/2021 while in Natick Massachusetts, I was almost rear-ended after my vehicle stalled in traffic and I could not get to the BDL. As quickly as the vehicle stopped working, I was able to restart the vehicle and move it out of the road. This problem can not be ignored or downplayed, someone will eventual get hurt or killed because their vehicle stalls without reason or warning. I need a dependable vehicle and do not have the luxury to run to the dealership multiple times for an on-going problem.
2015 CHEVY MALIBU WITH 2.5L ENGINE WITH ROCKER ARM OIL CONTROL VALVE MALFUNCTIONING. CHECK ENGINE CAME ON THURSDAY MAY 6, 2021 AND HAD IT DIAGNOSED MONDAY MAY 10, 2021. 2014'S HAVE A RECALL, BUT 2015S DO NOT AND MY MECHANIC CAN'T EVEN FIND A GM PART TO FIX THIS.
I WAS PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOT WHEN MY CAR GEARS STARTED TO JERK THEN A "SERVICE POWER STEERING" ICON FLASHED ON THE DASHBOARD. MY ENGINE LIGHT READ A P305F CODE WHICH ONLY TOLD ME IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE DUAL BATTERY CONTROL MODULE (DBCM) I THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THERE DIAGNOSTICS JUST SAID TO REPLACE THE MAIN BATTERY. HOWEVER I REPLACED BOTH BATTERIES AND CAR STILL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I DID MY PERSONAL RESEARCH AND I ENDED UP REPLACING THE BATTERY MODULE YET CAR STILL HAD SAME ISSUE. I'VE ALREADY BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE AND CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP SPENDING MONEY ON DIAGNOSTIC TEST. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE AND THAT MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAD FILED COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS TO ME AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING OR WHILE PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOT AND IS A MAJOR HAZARD IF DRIVING ON BUSY STREET OR HIGHWAY. WHEN IT DOES THE AUTO STOP AT A RED LIGHT THE CAR JERKS AND SOMETIMES GEARS WILL LOCK UP AND TRANSMISSION WILL EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS AS WELL. OTHER TIMES THE CAR JUST JERKS AND A SERVICE POWER STEERING ICON WILL DISPLAY ON THE DASHBOARD
I CAN BE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEED AND I RECEIVE AN ERROR THAT THE ENGINE POWER IS REDUCING AND THE SPEED SHIFTS DOWN & I AM UNABLE TO EXCEED 25 MPH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT POPS ON & ALSO AN ERROR REGARDING STABIL LOC NEEDS TO BE SERVICED. MY CAR HAS AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I'VE HAD TO PULL OVER TO A SAFE MEDIUM ON THE HIGHWAY AND MOSTLY WHEN THE ERROR OCCURS, I'M NOT ABLE TO TURN A CORNER AT A SAFE SPEED. CAR HAD AIRBAG LIGHT COME ON. THE VEH WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AIR BAG - CONTROL MODULE: C0196 C0186 C0287 B101D.. NEED TO START WITH REPLACING AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE .. CODES ARE ALL HISTORY CODES.. INTERMITTENT ISSUE.. COULD HAVE OTHER ISSUES AS WELL.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CODE IS P305F WHICH MEANS THE BATTERY CONTROL MODULE IS AFFECTED. THIS POWERS THE ACCESSORIES. WHEN THE AUTO STOP FEATURE TRIGGERS, THE VEHICLE'S ACCESSORIES WILL TURN OFF AND HEADLIGHTS WILL TURN OFF. DANGEROUS AT NIGHT. THERE ARE NO CURRENT SOLUTIONS FOR THIS CODE AND MAKES THE CAR A FAILURE FOR EMISSIONS.
THE BACK DEFROSTER QUIT WORKING OVER A YEAR AGO. FRONT DEFROSTER IS BLOWING OUT THE FRONT VENTS WHEN SET ON FULL DEFROST OR FEET AND DEFROST. NOTICED IT WHEN I STARTED MY CAR AND IT WASN'T WORKING ON THE WINDOWS AND IT WOULDN'T CHANGE.
ON 1-24-2021, WHILE DRIVING THE CAR INITIALLY HAD ISSUES GAINING ACCELERATION DESPITE PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO REACH A SPEED OF 40MPH I RECEIVED A WARNING ON THE DASH STATING THE CAR'S SPEED IS BEING REDUCED TO 25MPH, FOLLOWED BY A MESSAGE THAT SAID REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS LED TO THE CAR STALLING AND EVENTUALLY SHUTTING DOWN ABOUT 2-3 MINUTES LATER. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BEFORE THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND TURNED THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR. THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER MESSAGE REMAINED ALONG WITH A NEW MESSAGE OF SERVICE STABILITRAK. I WAS STILL UNABLE TO ACCELERATE BEYOND 25MPH WHICH WAS BELOW THE MINIMUM SPEED FOR THE ROAD I WAS DRIVING ON.
THE RADIO AUDIO SYSTEM GIVES A RANDOM STATIC INTERFERENCE, NOT EVERY DRIVE BUT 1/10 TIMES. NO MUSIC OR AUDIO CAN BE HEARD UNTIL THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SHUT OFF FOR COUPLE OF MINUTES THEN THE SYSTEM WORKS FINE.

THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET AND THE WHOLE RADIO CONSOLE CUT OFF FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS AND CAME BACK ON. THE ENGINE LIGHT THEN POPPED ON.IT DID THIS TWICE IN A MATTER OF 10 MINS. THIS ISSUED HAS HAPPENED TWICE SPORADICALLY 3 TIMES BUT NEVER CONSECUTIVE ON THE SAME DAY. BOTH BATTERIES WERE TESTED AND THEY ARE GOOD. GOT THE CODE P305F. PERFORMED A CHECK ON ALL WIRES AND HARNESSES AND THEY WERE SECURE. THE MAIN BATTERY WAS REPLACED WITH A NEW AC DELCO ON FEBRUARY 22, 2020. MY CAR ALSO CUT OFF ON SEPTEMBER 30 WHILE IT WAS IN MOTION AND I WAS SWITICHING GEARS TO REVERSE.
EVERY TIME IT RAINS OR I WASH THE CAR, WATER LEAKS INTO MY TRUNK. I'VE BEEN TOLD IT WAS DUE TO THE ANTENNA SEAL AND I HAVE HEARD THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS, BUT I HAVENT SEEN ANYWHERE THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL.
AIR BAG CAME ON ALL AT ONCE ABOUT A MOUNTH AGO I PUT IN SHOP TO FIX . SHOP SAID IT WAS FIX THEY REPROGRAMED THE AIR BAG THEY SAY. ONE WEEK LATER WAS BACK ON . TOOK BACK TO SHOP SHOP SAY NEED A NEW COMPUTER. WAS" 700.00 TO FIX IT.
I WAS AT A RED LIGHT ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY NO WARNING WHAT SO EVER. LIGHT TURNED GREEN TOOK FOOT OFF BRAKE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THEN CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. HAD TO PUSH IT OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THAT WAS HARD DUE TO THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING AT ALL. GOT MY SON TO COME GET ME BUT FIRST WE WANTED TO SEE IF THE CAR WOULD START WITH A JUMP START AND IT DID BUT CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK BECAUSE I WAS SCARED IT WAS GOING TO SHUT OFF AGAIN. THERE WAS NO WARNING OR EVEN WARNING SIGNS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. BESIDE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON RIGHT BEFORE THE CAR SHUT OFF THAT WAS NOT A VERY GOOD WARNING. SO I BOUGHT A BATTERY FOR THE CAR AND EVERYTHING HAS BEEN FINE. I REALLY THINK THAT PUT ME IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION NOT BEING ABLE TO PUT MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON BEING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AND TRYING TO PUSH IT TO THE SIDE WITH NO POWER STEERING.

IF I STOP AT A RED LIGHT THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN AND THEN I HAVE TO PUT IT ON PARKING/NEUTRAL AND RESTART THE CAR AGAIN. MY CONCERN IS IF IT SUDDENLY STOPS WHILE I AM DRIVING IT, I MAY GET HIT FROM BEHIND AND GET SERIOUSLY INJURED (ALMOST GOT HIT THE OTHER DAY). STEERING OPERATION AT LOW SPEEDS MAKES CLICKING NOISE, BOTH IN FORWARD AND REVERSE, SOUNDS LIKE IT IS COMING FROM UNDER THE DASH. STEERING STILL OPERATES NORMALLY.
THE CAR STALLS OUT WHILE IN TRAFFIC AND/OR IMMEDIATELY REDUCE SPEED FLASHING-ENGINE REDUCE CODE ON THE DASH, MINES IN PARTICULAR HAS FLASHED SERVICE TRACTION AND REDUCE ENGINE POWER ON THE DASH, DIAGNOSTIC TESTING IS NOT GIVING ANY CODES FOR A SPECIFIC REASON FOR THIS ISSUE, SEEM TO BE SOMETHING UP WITH THE SENSORS AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ON THIS CAR- CAUSING MULTIPLE ISSUES TO HAPPEN ALL AT ONE TIME. CHEVY DEALER NOT VERY HELP- SUGGESTING TO FIX RANDOM PARTS AND THE ISSUE CONTINUES. DECIDED NOT TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY, BUT DID DRIVE ON A BUSY STREET IN BALTIMORE COUNTY.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
CAR HAS 23,800 MILES ON IT AND THE SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT HAS COME UP ON THE DASHBOARD AND DOESN'T GO OFF. DIAGNOSTIC IS NOT PULLING ANY CODE. MONTHLY DIAGNOSTIC REPORT FROM GM SAYS THERE IS NO PROBLEM. HAVE SEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

GM PART NUMBER 12633613 VVT REAR OIL CONTROL SOLENOID IS FAULTY CAUSING ENGINE JERKING. GM DOES NOT HAVE THIS PART AVAILABLE OR ANY AFTERMARKET PART, AND APPEARS TO HAVE STOPPED PRODUCING IT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT A POLICE OFFICER WAS DRIVING BEHIND HER AND STOPPED TO ASSIST. POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE CONTACT STATED AT THE TIME OF THE ELECTRICAL FAILURE THERE WAS A BURNING ODOR COMING FROM THE VENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LYNCH CHEVROLET OF MUKWONAGO (280 EAST WOLF RUN MUKWONAGO, WI 53149) WHO REPLACED AN ELECTRICAL HARNESS AND MODULE. NO FURTHER INFO WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED A SHIFT TO PARK FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CONTROL ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE WOULD STILL OCCUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. ON JANUARY 15TH. AT 08:26AM WHILE DRIVING TO WORK MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ON JANUARY 19TH. THE CAR WAS DROPPED FOR SERVICE AT WESTGATE CHEVROLET IN EDMONTON, AB. AFTER TWO WEEKS OF TESTING AND MULTIPLE PART CHANGES THE DEALER ESTABLISHED THAT MY CAR HAS A FAULTY "INTAKE OIL CONTROL VALVE". THIS IS A WELL KNOWN FAILURE OF THE GM ECOTEC 2.5 LKW ENGINE. GM HAS BEEN TRYING TO REDESIGN THE PART SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2019. AS OF TODAY MAY 20TH, 2020 THE REPLACEMENT PART HAS STILL NOT BEEN MADE AVAILABLE AND MY CAR HAS BEEN SITTING AT THE DEALER FOR 4 MONTHS NOW. MULTIPLE OWNERS OF 2014 AND 15 MALIBU'S AND IMPALA'S ARE SUFFERING THE SAME FAITH. LATELY GM CORPORATE HAS NOT EVEN RETURNED E-MAILS FROM MY DEALER AS TO WHEN THE NEW PART WILL ME MADE AVAILABLE. I OWN A 2015 CHEVROLET MALIBU LTZ AND I CAN BE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE 'SERVICE STABILITRACK' LIGHT WILL COME ON, THEN IT WILL SAY 'REDUCED ENGINE POWER'. I DID MY RESEARCH AND HAVE SEEN THAT THERE WAS A PETITION OF OVER 1500 SIGNATURES WITH OWNERS OF 2014 CHEVY IMPALA'S AND 2015 CHEVY MALIBU'S WHO ALL COMPLAINS OF THE SAME THING AND INCLUDED THAT THEY HAVE BEEN WAITING 4 OR MORE MONTHS FOR THIS PART. I AM COMPLAINING FOR THE FACT THAT THIS IS UNSAFE, THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL FOR THIS THOUGH THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND WE ARE ALL PAYING FOR VEHICLES THAT ARE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. WHEN ACCELERATING INTO PASSING GEAR, THE ENGINE WOULD STEP OUT OF GEAR AND THE RPM'S WOULD REV VERY HIGH WHILE THE CAR SLOWED. I WOULD HAVE TO LET OFF PEDAL UNTIL RPM'S LOWERED, THEN ACCELERATE SLOWLY. MY LOCAL GARAGE DIAGNOSED THE BAD PART AND BEGAN SEARCHING FOR A REPLACEMENT. THEY DISCOVERED THAT (1)-GM IS THE ONLY COMPANY THAT MAKES THE PART, (2)-THAT GM DOESN'T HAVE ANY MORE REPLACEMENT PARTS AND (3)-GM IS NOT GOING TO MAKE ANY MORE. THEY DISCOVERED THAT MANY GM DEALERSHIPS HAVE HUNDREDS ON BACK ORDER ALSO. IN DECEMBER I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CHEVY CUSTOMER SERVICE; CASE # 9-5698216592 AND CONVERSED WITH VAHMARTA PH.#(866)-790-5600 AND FIELD REP; LOGAN EXT:5916533. THEIR FINAL ANSWER: (1) GM IS THE ONLY COMPANY THAT MAKES THE PART, (2) GM DOESN'T HAVE ANY MORE PARTS AND (3) GM ISN'T GOING TO MAKE ANY MORE PARTS. THEIR FINAL SOLUTIN: THEY OFFERED ME A $2,500 VOUCHER TOWARDS A NEW VEHICLE. GM IS QUITE AWARE THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM BUT IS NOT OFFERING A PART TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH GM CONCERNING THIS, BUT WAS REFERRED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO HAS TOLD US THEIR IS NO REPLACEMENT PART BEING MADE, AND HAVE LEFT US WITH NO OPTIONS, AS THE CAR CANNOT BE USED AS A TRADE IN, DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I'VE BEEN ON THE MALIBU FORUM AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS PEOPLE IN THE SAME SITUATION, AND GM IS GIVEN US ALL THE BACK OF THEIR HAND, WITH NO ANSWERS. UNKNOWN - EVERY TIME IT RAINS OR SNOWS, SOMEHOW WATER GETS IN MY CAR. THE WINDOWS ARE COMPLETELY SHUT, DOORS ARE CLOSED, AND TRUNK IS TOO. HOWEVER, THE AREA FOR MY SPARE TIRE FILLS UP WITH WATER. IT IS NOW CAUSING MY BACK SEAT AND SEAT BELTS TO GET SOAKED. THE TOP THAT COVERS MY SPARE TIRE HAS FALLEN THROUGH. MOLD AND MILDEW ARE DEVELOPING AND THE SMELL TAKES OVER MY CAR.
CAR WAS INITIALLY BROUGHT TO INDEPENDENT SERVICE CENTER IN SAVANNAH, GA. THEY WERE ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM, BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE THE ROOT CAUSE. SPECIFICALLY, THE BRAKES FAIL WHEN THE CAR IS PLACED IN REVERSE. IT MAY BE TEMPERATURE SENSITIVE AS IT IS EXPERIENCED WHEN THE CAR IS STARTING UP - TYPICALLY IN THE MORNING. THEY SOUGHT HELP FROM VADEN CHEVROLET IN SAVANNAH, GA. THE CAR WAS IN THEIR POSSESSION FOR 1+ WEEKS AND THEY DID NOT FIND A PROBLEM WITH THE BREAKING SYSTEM. THE CAR WAS THEN RETURNED TO THE INDEPENDENT SERVICE CENTER WHERE THEY CONTINUE TO STUDY THE PROBLEM. WHEN THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO INDEPENDENT SERVICE CENTER AND VADEN FAILED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS SAFETY ISSUE, I CONTACT GENERAL MOTORS (1-866-636-2273) TO REPORT THIS SAFETY ISSUE DIRECTLY. THE INDIVIDUAL MY CASE WAS ASSIGNED TO, "[XXX]", DID NOT FOLLOW UP ON ACTION ITEMS AND WHEN I TRIED TO RETURN HER CALLS, HER VOICEMAIL BOX WAS FULL. I ASKED FOR THIS CASE TO BE ESCALATED TODAY (2/5/2020), BUT SHE INDICATED SHE WAS AT THE TOP - NO ONE TO ESCALATE ISSUE TO. INITIALLY, CIRCA TWO YEARS AGO, HAD AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE ON HARD BRAKING - THE RADIO DISPLAY SCREEN AND OTHER ELECTRICAL SHUT DOWN, CAR STALLED. AFTER RESTART, CAR WOULD ONLY MOVE FORWARD SLOWLY. EVENTUALLY THIS CLEARED. THE CAR HAS HAD A TOTAL OF ~5 INCIDENTS OF COMPLETE BATTERY DRAIN AND CONSEQUENT FAILURE TO START AFTER SITTING, EVEN THOUGH THE ALTERNATOR PREVIOUSLY WAS SPINNING, AND "BATTERY VOLTAGE" REPORTS AS SOMEWHERE IN THE 13-14 V RANGE. ON THREE SEPARATE REPAIRS, DEALER HAS REPLACED THE AFT BATTERY, THEN THE FORWARD BATTERY, THEN UPDATED FLASH MEMORY (OF BATTERY CONTROL? ANTILOCK BRAKE CONTROL, NOT SURE), PER A RECALL NOTICE AFFECTING OTHER NEARBY MODEL YEARS. AFTER THIS, THE CAR WENT SEVERAL MONTHS WITHOUT INCIDENT, BUT DRAINED BATTERY AND FAILED TO START AGAIN THIS WEEK. IT APPEARS THAT THE COMPLEX AUTO STOP/START ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS FLAWED IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE LOCAL DEALER CANNOT DIAGNOSE WHY THE BATTERY KEEPS DRAINING. BECAUSE THE FORWARD BATTERY CAPACITY IS VERY LARGE, AND USAGE OF THE CAR IS LOW, IT TAKES SEVERAL MONTHS TO DRAIN THE BATTERY. WHEN THE BATTERY IS DRAINED, THE CAR NO LONGER FUNCTIONS - POWER STEERING, ELECTRONICS, ETC, HENCE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BRAIN BLEED AS A RESULT OF THE COLLISION. THE OTHER DRIVER SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES; HOWEVER, NO MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS GIVEN TO EITHER PARTIES INVOLVED IN THE COLLISION. AFTER THE COLLISION, THE CONTACT WENT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM WHERE THEY DISCOVERED SHE HAD BLEEDING ON HER BRAIN AND WAS TREATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AT THE SCENE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT RANDOMLY COMES ON AND OFF. UNABLE TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK THOROUGHLY BECAUSE THE ENGINE LIGHT DOESN'T STAY ON. WAS AT AN AUTO ZONE ONE DAY WHEN IT CAME ON AGAIN AND WAS GIVEN TWO OF THE SAME CODES STATING THERE MAY BE AN O2 SENSOR ISSUE. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER WHILE DRIVING I GET A MESSAGE ON THE CAR STATING 'SERVICE POWER STEERING' THEN IT GOES OFF AGAIN. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF. RIGHT DRIVER BACK SEAT BELT DOESN'T CLICK IN ALL THE WAY BUT SOMETIMES IT DOES.

APRIL 1ST 2019 THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED COMING ON ON MY DASHBOARD I WENT INTO A AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR PLACE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE AIR MODULE TO THE AIRBAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS DEFECTED.
DROVE MY MALIBU TO SEE A SHOW AND PARKED IN THE GARAGE. AFTER THE SHOW, WHEN TURNED ON THE IGNITION HAD A SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT. TOOK IT TO THE GM DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND SAID HAD TO REPLACE THE AIR BAG SDM ELECTRICAL MODULE WITH A TOTAL PRICE ESTIMATE OF ALMOST $1,000 CAD !!! I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE SINCE DECEMBER 2014 AND HAVE DRIVEN IT TO FLORIDA EVERY WINTER SINCE. IT ONLY HAS 82,500 KM ON IT. I BELIEVE THIS IS A PREMATURE FAILURE AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE. SHOULD BE THE SAME AS THE NEW CAR EMISSIONS WARRANTY WHERE EMISSION COMPONENTS ARE COVERED MUCH LONGER THAN NEW CAR WARRANTY.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TURNED OUT IT WAS SOLENOID VENT VALVE, A $36 PART THAT COST ME A TOTAL OF $600 USD TO REPLACE AFTER DIAGNOSTIC FEES AND SHOP FEES. THEY HAD TO DROP THE GAS TANK TO ACCESS IT. THIS IS A PREMATURE FAILURE FOR A FOUR YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH ONLY 48,000 KM. IF THIS IS A REGULAR MAINTENANCE ITEM THAT REQUIRES FREQUENT REPLACEMENT, GM SHOULD HAVE PUT IT IN A MORE ACCESSIBLE LOCATION SO IT DOESN'T COST $600 TO REPLACE A $36 PART!
AIRBAG LIGHT IS KEEP COMING ON. I HAVE POWER SEATS AND PAYED TO GET THE PANEL FIXED AND THE PANEL IS HANGING AGAIN.

PURCHASED CAR MARCH 28,2015. ON OCTOBER 26,2017 I PAID FOR THE PART AND LABOR SINCE I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. IT'S NOW APRIL 9TH, 2019 AND THE PART IS PULLING AWAY FROM THE SEAT AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY FOR THE LAST REPAIR EXPIRED ON OCTOBER 26, 2018. MY OPTION WAS TO PAY FOR THE PART AND REPAIR AGAIN. THE PLASTIC TRIM SHOULD BE CONSIDERED DEFECTIVE SINCE IT HOLDS THE SEAT UP AND THE BUTTONS THAT ACCESS THE SEAT CONTROLS ARE ON IT. THE PART AND LABOR CHARGES SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER FOR THIS DEFECTIVE PART.
THE DRIVERS SEAT MOVES UNEXPECTEDLY FRONT AND BACK WITHOUT MANUAL CONTACT THEREFOR THIS CAN CAUSE MYSELF AN ACCIDENT BY MOVING THE BACK SUPPORT TO THE FRONT AND BACK THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR TURNED OFF AND WHILE DRIVING
CAR WAS PARKED IN A RESIDENTIAL PARKING LOT. A WATER LEAK BEGAN. WATER WAS ON THE FLOOR OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND ON THE FLOOR ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE BEHIND THE DRIVER. I TOOK THE CAR TO AN AUTO MECHANIC AND I WERE TOLD THE LEAK WAS CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND THE WATER HAD BEEN SLOWLY LEAKING INTO THE CAR SINCE I FIRST HAD IT. THE WATER LEAKS IN BEHIND THE DASHBOARD AND THEN ACCUMULATES BETWEEN THE BODY FRAME AND THE CARPETING. HE SAID THE DEFECT WAS A MISSING SEAL IN THE CAR BODY FRAME. I WAS TOLD THE DEFECT CAN'T BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE FRAME IS WELDED TOGETHER AND THE AREA TO PUT THE SEAL IN IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ACCESS. HE PUT ANOTHER TOP COAT SEAM IN THE COWL AREA, BUT STATED DUE TO THE FAULTY BODY SEAM THEY CANNOT GUARANTEE PERMANENT WATER TIGHT REPAIR. THE CAR WAS DRIED OUT FOR A WEEK IN THE AUTO SHOP. THEN THE CAR WAS RETURNED AND THE NEXT MORNING THE FLOOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAD A WATER LEAK AGAIN. THE AUTO MECHANIC SAID THAT I SHOULD NOT KEEP THIS CAR.

I ASKED IF THIS WAS COVERED BY CHEVROLET. THEY ANSWERED NO. I THEN REMINDED THEM THAT I OF $10HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY THEN SAID LET ME CHECK IT OUT. IN A FEW MINUTES, THEY CAME BACK WITH A SECOND FIGURE OF $150.00 WHICH INCLUDED THE $50.00 DEDUCTIBLE. MY QUESTION IS DO I PAY?

TAMARA RECALL THIS VEHICLE HAS THE AUTO STOP START SYSTEM WHERE THE ENGINE IS SUPPOSED TO ENGAGE AT A LIGHT, AND IT DOES NOT WORK. NO ONE CAN UNDERSTAND WHY IT WON'T ENGAGE AND THE DEALER WILL NOT HELP ME. THE BRAND NEW 2015 CHEVY. MALIBU FAILED THE EMISSIONS PORTION OF THE STATE INSPECTION TEST AND I WAS INFORMED BY THE IMPERIAL SERVICE DEPT. THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED THE STATE INSPECTION AND HE (SERVICE DEPT.) DID NOT KNOW WHY THE VEHICLE FAILED BUT I WAS INSTRUCTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AROUND FOR APPROX. 100 MILES AND AFTER THE 100 MILES TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK AND IMPERIAL WOULD RE-TEST THE VEHICLE. AFTER DRIVING AROUND FOR APPROXIMATELY 100 MILES I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE VEHICLE PASSED THE STATE INSPECTION AFTER THE SECOND TEST. AT APPROX. 3,000- 30000 MILES (AT TIMES) THE VEHICLE WOULD INDICATE (VIA INDICATION PANEL) THAT THE GAS CAP OF THE VEHICLE WAS LOOSE. OF THE 'TIGHTEN GAS CAP' INDICATION BUT DUE TO THE LIGHT NOT BEING ON DURING THE OIL CHARGES THE SERVICE DEPT. COULD NOT FIND ANY ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. AT APPROX. 33,000 MILES THE "TIGHTEN GAS CAP" INDICATOR STAYED ON AND AFTER A WHILE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO IMPERIAL CHEVY. SERVICE AND THEY FOUND THE "VENT SOLENOID STICKING" "CODE 0455" AND REPLACED THE VENT SOLENOID. AT APPROX. 40,000 MILES THE SAME ISSUE STARTED AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WOULD INDICATE THAT THE GAS CAP WAS LOOSE, THE MESSAGE WOULD COME ON AND THEN GO OFF. AT 45,000 MILES ONCE AGAIN, THE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. ONCE AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO CHEVY FOR SERVICE AND ONCE AGAIN THE VENT SOLENOID WAS FOUND TO BE STICKING AND THE SAME PART (VENT SOLENOID) WAS REPLACED. SAME ISSUE 3 TIMES.
THE CAR TRUNK POPS OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. IT POPPED OPEN OVERNIGHT IN THE GARAGE. IT POPPED OPEN WHEN I WAS INSIDE A RESTAURANT.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE I STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE CAR TURNED OFF DUE TO THE AUTO START/STOP WHEN IDLING. WHEN I LET OFF THE BRAKE, THE CAR DID NOT TURN BACK ON. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO START THE CAR AGAIN NUMEROUS TIMES IT WOULD NOT. ALL ELECTRICAL STAYED ON AT THIS POINT. CAR WAS TOWED TO A CHEVY DEALER IN FENTON, MI AND THEY REPLACED BATTERY AND BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR. LATER I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THE RADIO AND SCREEN STAYED ON EVEN AFTER CLOSING AND OPENING THE DOOR. THEN MY CAR WAS IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT TODAY AND IT AUTO TURNED OFF AS WHEN I LET OFF BRAKE IT DID NOT TURN BACK ON. ALL ELECTRICAL STAYED ON. THIS TIME I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR BACK UP BUT THERE'S NO TELLING WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS VEHICLE.

FOUR WEEKS LATER I RECEIVED AN OFFER OF $13,000.00 AND A STATE THAT WOULD ABSOLVE GM OF ANY LIABILITY. ICALLED TO SEE IF I COULD SIMPLY SUBSITUTE A CAR I FOUND FOR $11,000. 00 , SAME MAKE MODEL AND YEAR, THIS WOULD HAVE REDUCED GM'S LOSS; I WAS TOLD "NO WAY." ONCE I LOOKED UNDER THEIR THIS PIECE IS ACTUALLY CONNECTED TO THE BUMPER IN ONE PIECE WHEN IT SHOULD BE DETACHED. THIS VECHICAL IS A VERY BAD DESIGN AND IS EXTREMELY LOW TO THE GROUND AND WHAT MAKES THIS BAD IS THIS PIECE IS CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE BUMPER WHICH WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY RIPPED OUT IN THE PROCESS. CURRENTLY I HAVE THIS END PIECE ZIPPED TIED TO MY FRAME AT THE POINT OF WHICH IT BECAME DETACHED. TODAY, AUG 16, 2017 (AND WITH JUST UNDER 10,000 DRIVEN ON THEM), I NOTICED A BULGE COMING FROM THE OUTER WALL ON ONE OF THEM. THE TIRE SPECS ARE: P235/50R18, 97W. THIS IS CONCERNING TO ME BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. PICTURES ATTACHED.

THE PLASTIC COVER OVER THE SEAT CONTROLS WAS TORN WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR THE COVER HAS GOTTEN WORSE AS TIME HAS GONE BY AND TO BE HONEST HAS BECOME A HAZARD I TORN A PAIR OF SLACKS ON THE EXTREMELY SHARP PLASTIC PIECE AND I AM VERY CAREFUL GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE PIECE. DRIVERS SIDE SEAT CONTROL COVER PIECE. THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE SEAT DESIGN THERE IS A METAL TUBE RUNNING FRONT TO BACK YOU CAN SEE IT IN THE PICTURES IT CRACKED THIS COVER AND WILL CRACK ANY NEW COVER THAT REPLACE THIS COVER. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE ON MARCH 2015 OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR OF A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. ON JUNE 18, 2016 MY CAR CAUGHT A FIRE WHILE IT WAS PARKED AND I WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE. I HAD BEEN SITTING IN THE CAR WITH THE AIR BLOWING FROM THE DEFROSTER FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. I DROVE TO THE STORE AND CAME BACK HOME. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND STOOD ON THE PORCH TALKING TO MY FAMILY. WITHIN IN 10 MINUTES OF ME EXITING MY CAR, IT WAS ON FIRE. ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE FACT THEIR WAS NO ONE IN THE CAR AT THE TIME IT CAUGHT FIRE, THANK GOD AND AS TO NO ONE COULD OF STARTED THE FIRE BECAUSE I WAS STANDING OUTSIDE THE ENTIRE TIME. THE ALLEGED INVESTIGATION TOOK ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF TO COMPLETE. ON JULY 29TH I WAS CALLED BY A GM CHEVROLET REPRESENTATIVE AGAIN TELLING ME MY CLAIM WAS BEING DENIED BECAUSE OF A WINDSHIELD WIPER ISSUE. I STATED TO HER THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT. SHE THEN CHANGES THE REASON AND STATES THAT GM CHEVROLET REALLY CANT DETERMINE WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY WERE DENYING MY CLAIM. THEIR HAD BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS ON GM CARS
MY IGNITION KEYS (BOTH) SOMETIMES STICK IN THE 'START' POSITION WHEN STARTING. SOME DAYS THEY STICK SEVERAL TIMES AND SOME DAYS THEY DON'T. IT DEPENDS ON HEAT AND HUMIDITY. GENTLE PRESSURE EASILY RETURNS THE KEY TO THE 'RUN' POSITION. WE ALWAYS NOTICE THIS WHEN IT HAPPENS AND WE TURN THE KEY TO THE 'RUN' POSITION. BUT IF IT IS UNNOTICED IT COULD RELEASE WHEN HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND GO PAST 'RUN' AND INTO THE 'ACCESSORY' POSITION, SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW IN APRIL, 2015. THE DEALER CLEANED THE KEY AND LUBED THE IGNITION SWITCH BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. THE DEALER WILL NOT REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH BECAUSE THE KEY DID NOT STICK WHILE THEY HAD THE CAR. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS OFTEN (ABOUT 10% OF THE TIME) WHEN THE WEATHER IS HOT AND/OR HUMID. IT OCCURS RARELY WHEN THE WEATHER ID COOL/DRY.

SINCE PURCHASING THIS CAR I HAVE AVOIDED DRIVING IT AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT SUFFICIENT FOR ME TO DRIVE SAFELY AT NIGHT. THE SOUND IS STILL THERE BUT THE DEALERSHIP STARTED THE WORK IS DONE AND REFUSES TO TOUCH IT. THE NOISE IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING BUT DOES NOT AFFECT RUNNING. I PURCHASED THIS CAR ON 02/09/16, 1 1/2 HOURS AFTER DRIVING IT OFF THE LOT, I WAS DRIVING DOWN A MAIN ROAD AT APPROPRIATELY 57 MPH AND MY MOON ROOF GLASS EXPLODED. THERE WERE NO CARS CLOSE TO THE FRONT OF ME. THE GLASS APPEARS TO BE BOWING OUT OF THE VEHICLE, NOT INTO THE VEHICLE, AS YOU WOULD EXPECT IF A ROCK HAD HIT IT. SEE THE ATTACHED PICTURE. THERE WAS NO SOUND OF ANYTHING HITTING THE ROOF, IT SIMPLY SOUNDED LIKE A BOMB EXPLODING IN MY VEHICLE AND GLASS WENT EVERYWHERE. MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE FRONT SEAT AND THE GLASS HIT HER FACE. I CALLED THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO THAT IT WAS LIKELY A ROCK. NOW I HAVE TO FILE A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE TO FIX THE GLASS, MY ROOF TOP AND TRUNK LID AS THE GLASS SCRATCHED AND ETCHED THE PAINT. SOUNDS LIKE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO QUITE A FEW PEOPLE AFTER SEARCHING SIMILAR INSTANCES WITH THIS VEHICLE. MIGHT BE SOMETHING CHEVY SHOULD LOOK INTO. DEALER REPLACED INTERIOR FAN ACTUATOR AND SYSTEM NOW FUNCTIONS AS INTENDED. I ALSO DESCRIBED THIS TO THE DEALER AS SOUNDING LIKE A FLUTTERING SOUND FROM THE FAN SPEED CONTROL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,800.
WE WAS GETTING ON THE HWY. ON RAMP ENTERED HWY. HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION AND THE SUNROOF HAS EXPLODED LEAVING A 4 INCH HOLE IN SUNROOF AND 12 INCHES WIDE THE GLASS HIT TRUNK AND SCRATCH ON TRUNK OF CAR. BRAND NEW CAR 1416 MILES ON IT. ALSO I WAS 200 MILES FROM HOME. WENT TO POPLAR BLUFF MO CHEVY DEALER AND THEY SAID ITS COMMON WITH THE CARS NOW THE BODY FLEX AND THE GLASS IS SO TIGHT THEY EXPLODE. I WAS ADVISED TO CALL MY DEALER SO I DID THEY SAID FIRST THING DO YOU HAVE FULL COVERAGE? I WAS MAD AS HELL. THIS IS THE GLASS OR DEFAULT IN CAR. I LOOKED ONLINE AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM...
ON MAY 28, MY HUSBAND AND I NOTICED THESE FUMES IN THE CAR, BUT WE DIDN'T KNOW WHERE THEY WERE COMING FROM. WHEN WE OPENED THE CAR TRUNK, WE FOUND THAT THE TIRE SEALANT IN THE COMPRESSOR KIT WAS LEAKING ON IT'S OWN. HE BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP'S AUTO SHOP AND THE COMPRESSOR KIT WAS REPLACED. ON JULY 19, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP'S REPAIR SHOP, AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THAT THE COMPUTER MODULE THAT CONTROLS THE ENGINE WASN'T WORKING RIGHT AND IT HAD TO BE REPROGRAMMED BY UPDATING IT. THEY WERE VERY VAGUE IN EXPLAINING THE PROBLEM. MY HUSBAND CALLED THE REPAIR SHOP ON JULY 28 AND ASKED THEM TO EXPLAIN WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. THEY STILL DIDN'T EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM VERY WELL AND THEY SAID THAT THEY ALREADY TOLD HIS WIFE. THE STATEMENT THAT THE THE REPAIR SHOP GAVE US SAYS "CUSTOMER STATES THAT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, VERIFIED CONCERN SCAN CODE P2096, AS PER TSB PI409 PERFORM ECM RE PROGRAM CLEAR CODES / RECHECKED SYSTEM ALL AT SPECS." THE MILEAGE AT THAT TIME WAS 2470.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500.
AFTER WASHING CAR IN A DRIVE THROUGH CAR WASH WITH THE CAR ON A TRACK, THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOORBOARD IN FRONT AND BACK ARE WET UNDERNEATH THE FLOOR MATS. THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES.
WATER ENTERED THE CAR FROM BEHIND THE DASHBOARD AND FLOODED THE CARPET AND ALL THAT IS UNDER IT. I PERSONALLY SUCKED GALLONS AND GALLONS OF WATER OUT OF IT FOR 4 DAYS BEFORE I GAVE UP AND TOOK IT IN. THE SERVICE DEPT PULLED THE PROBLEM UP ON THE COMPUTER IMMEDIATELY. THAT TELLS ME THAT SOMEONE AT GM KNEW ABOUT IT AND THIS WASN'T THE FIRST TIME. B/C IT CAME IN BEHIND THE DASH, THE ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL WILL BE AFFECTED B/C ALL THAT MOISTURE WILL NEVER GET OUT. RUSTING HAS ALREADY STARTED. THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR A WEEK. I AM GOING TO DEMAND A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE BECAUSE MOLD/MILDEW WILL BE GROWING, AND MOISTURE WILL AFFECT THE SAFETY OF THE CAR. I WILL NEVER GET A GOOD PRICE ON A TRADE-IN B/C OF THE WATER. THE CAR IS RUINED.

I HAVE BEEN HAVING NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH A PAUSE IN THE ENGINE WHEN I'M SPEEDING UP ONTO A HIGHWAY OR TO PASS ON THE HIGHWAY . IT'S MOST DANGEROUS WHEN I ENTER THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR INSTEAD OF JUST SPEEDING UP HAS BEEN KNOWN TO PAUSE.. AND THEN SPEED UP. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT'S HARD TO DETERMINE WHEN THE CAR IS GOING TO "PAUSE" . I WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE I HAD ENOUGH TIME TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR DECIDED TO "PAUSE " AND THEN GO BUT THAT SLIGHT PAUSE EFFECTS THE TIMING OF ENTERING TRAFFIC . ALSO, I AM NEAR A HIGHWAY WITH A LOT OF CONSTRUCTION. THE ROADS BECOME UNEVEN IN PARTS WITHOUT WARNING. I HAVE TO KEEP BOTH MY HANDS TIGHTLY SECURED TO THE WHEEL OR THE CAR TRIES PULLING YOU. FOR INSTANCE : I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AND THERE WAS A SLIGHT CHANGE IN UNEVEN PAVEMENT AND MY CAR SEEMED LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO EVEN OUT THE WEIGHT OF THE CAR AND IT TRIED PULLING ME LEFT AND WHEN I WENT TO STRAIGHTEN OUT MY CAR BECOME UNCONTROLLABLE AND THANK GOD THERE WASN'T SOMEBODY IN THE RIGHT LANE BECAUSE IT PULLED ME ALL OVER THE HIGHWAY AND I COULDN'T CONTROL IT . TO BE HONEST I HAVE HAD ABOUT 6 CARS AND NEVER HAVE I FELT SO UNSAFE. ALSO MY CAR IS AN ECO CAR- IT TURNS OFF AT LIGHTS.. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles October 24, 2011, to March 5, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the Slide or Tilt switch for the roof panel may not be adequately recessed to prevent the switch from inadvertently being pressed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 118, "Power-Operated Window, Partition, and Roof Panel Systems."

Also, certain 2013 Buick Encore, 2011 Buick Regal, 2013-2014 Buick Verano, 2011-2016 Chevrolet Cruze, 2010-2013 Chevrolet Equinox 2013-2015 Chevrolet Malibu, and 2011-2013 GMC Terrain vehicles may have been serviced with similar defective replacement electronic park lock levers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
