When drive over 60mph I smell burn from front hood. I took to Dodge dealership. They said oil leaking so paid $950 , 3 weeks later car broke down like can't go over 30mph, Aqcell won't go up , I took to dealership again , he said transmission I paid $4600( October) it used transmission. After change transmission drive was uncomfortable, not smoothly like before. I took dealership he said It because differen transmission, so need takes a while to get use to it. (Idk it true or not) And engine light on over 7 times and still burning smell if drive over 60mph. Dealership kepts 3 days but they said car is fine. Im like how heck fine? If I drive 60mph now I can smell burn . Feel very uncomfortable to drive i have 3 kids always with me but can't sell car with this conditions . Any advice appreciate
Our check engine light came on when we were coming down from the mountains. We took it to a mechanic who diagnosed it as a issue with the transmission pump. Now we are afraid to drive it and it is our only vehicle for our family of four. The mechanic quoted us nearly $5000 out of pocket to fix this issue since our vehicle is not included in the list of vins for another recall of this model.

The doors make an extremely startling noise everytime we exit the car or open the door
trans axle oil pump failure. transmission failed while in traffic. van would not move in forward or reverse. the problem was diagnosed by a dealer and found to be failure of the trans axle oil pump. transmission was replaced
Passenger side sliding door suddenly stopped opening. It will not unlock using the remote, car door buttons, or manually. This presents a safety issue for back seat passengers. If the other door fails, the will be unable to exit the vehicle without climbing over the seats to use the front door. This could be deadly in an emergency. There was no warning, it simply stopped working. In my research, I came across many other Dodge Caravan owners who complain of the same issue. Repair prices have been quoted $1000-1500.
The lock on the passenger sliding door has stopped locking the door. When all the other doors are locked the door will still open. The lock also cannot be engaged manually the lock is stuck in the unlocked position. The driver side sliding door has started to make a buzzing sound when the locks are engaged. I think this indicates that the actuator on the driver side door may also be starting to fail.

The front head rests contain a safety device that extends the head rest to support the head during a crash. We were unaware of this feature until the passenger head rest burst over a year ago. That was reported in a seperate incident report. We are still waiting for Dodge to repair the passenger head rest. Within the past couple weeks, the driver head rest burst open, while we were not in the vehicle. We did not notice the head rest was burst until my wife saw it from the side when I was driving it. She normally drives the vehicle.

Passenger head rest safety mechanism deployed for unknown reason.
Sliding doors have stopped working. Doors are stuck in locked position. Cannot open even manually. Happened first on passenger side now on drivers side.
Got results back from the dealer on my grand caravan transmission pump. He said pump failed and burned up transmission. Now I need to replace the whole transmission thanks to dodge not covering all these vehicles with bad transmission pumps! This recall S44 should of been expanded to cover all vehicles from 2015 to2017 since I see a lot of people on the internet have the same problem and complaints. Dodge should be held liable for all these vehicles that need a new transmission due to the faulty pump!! Not just a select few that they deemed worthy of the recall! They cheated the people by not covering all these bad pumps!! Let’s hold them accountable for it!!
The passenger driver-side slide door is permanently lock and will not unlock. Door will not slide open at all. I believe the manufacture door lock actuator is the problem. The vehicle's ODM only have 36,000 miles on the it. Since the door can't be open, it is a safety issue for any passengers riding in the car. Safety issues that will put my two kids at risk since the passenger door can't be open when there is an emergency to exit the car. My two kids are the passengers in the van. As of now, I don't have the money necessary to take it to a mechanic to fix it. However, I search on the internet and found out a lot of other car owners with the same model Dodge Caravan are having the same issues with door being lock permanently. The problem just occurred without any warning. It happen about 2 months ago without any warning and the slide door will not slide open again. Please help us get the manufacturer to fix this problem. Transmission pump failed while driving the vehicle causing me and my handicapped daughter to be stuck on highway. Was able to get vehicle off the road. Vehicle started to make a whining sound then when I had to stop for road construction it started to jerk forward while I was stopped with my foot in the brake. Then when I went to accelerate I had no power to move forward. Rpms would go to 4000 but vehicle would barely move. Once I was able to safely get off highway I had to call for a ride home. I hate to think if this would of happened while I was actually driving the vehicle on the busy highway and not stopped for road construction what might of happened to me and my daughter if someone would of rear ended us while my vehicle stopped moving in fast traffic! Got home and I searched for any recalls for my type of vehicle and I seen there was a recall for this problem and the recall number was s44. But when I put my vin number in it says my vehicle wasn’t covered for this recall. Well obviously it should be covered because of the faulty transmission pump stranding me on the highway. This recall should be extended to more vehicles like mine. I have called Chrysler and I am awaiting any info from them wether they are going to pay for this. The vehicle is a 2015 but only has 56000 miles on it! No way this part should fail with that amount of low miles on it. It should be covered under the recall s44! Please let me know what I can do about this if they fail to cover me under this recall. While I’m only assuming this is the problem with the vehicle due to recalls being issued for it I will be taking it to a garage to be fixed but would like to be reimbursed if this is the problem with my vehicle! Obviously the recall should of been extended to cover more vehicles than what it did. Once I have proper confirmation for the problem I will be refilling a complaint with all paper work to prove my claim if Chrysler doesn’t pay to fix this!
Light came on (not flashing) took to Auto Zone for a diagnostic which the ASE Certified Technician said the error code was PO301 cylinder 1 misfire was detected and it was the #1 spark plug and it needed new one. However the spark plugs are not scheduled for maintenance until 100 k miles and my van is just over 60 k and I had my dealership do the 60k maintenance in March but didn’t include the spark plugs. We had a mechanic from out of town look at it per our dealership as we were out of town. He reset the code on 6-1-2021and it came back on after 7 days for two weeks it went off and came back on again on 6-11 and went off on the 14th. Today is the 15th of June, 2021.

Rear passenger sliding door actuator failed. This is a COMMON problem with these vehicles and poses an extremely dangerous safety risk when an owner is unable to open/close the door and when the door opens on its own due to failed lock actuator. This poses a risk for fire safety, wreckage safety to exit vehicle and poses significant risk to person's riding in the seat while the door can open spontaneously. There is also a risk factor because the door cannot LOCK or UNLOCK (depending on which position the door gets stuck in when the part fails). Thousands of owners of these specific vehicles are asking for a recall for safety reasons.

While driving and stopped at a stop light the vehicle starting shaking and would no longer engage in drive. No previous warning signs or issues with vehicle slipping gears. Stuck in the middle of street with 4 children. Diagnosed with faulty hydraulic pressure pump and transmission current recall s44 on same issue for same make, model, year and manufacturing date.

I WAS DRIVING UP A HILL ON A BRIDGE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I LOSS POWER TO MY WHEELS OF THE VAN. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY 3 DIFFERENT CARS BECAUSE I COULD NOT DRIVE ANY FURTHER. I WAS LEFT STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BRIDGE. I GOT THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A MECHANIC AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE TRANSMISSION PUMP INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION HAD GONE OUT. I WAS TOLD THAT MY EXACT YEAR AND VEHICLE FIT A TRANSMISSION PUMP RECALL FOR THE EXACT ISSUE. AFTER CALLING CHRYSLER'S RECALL HOTLINE, THEY DID A SEARCH OF MY VIN AND SAD THAT MY VIN NUMBER DID NOT MATCH FOR A TRANSMISSION RECALL. AND THEY TOLD ME THERE'S NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE I HAVE FOUND THAT THE 2015 DODGE CARAVAN DID HAVE RECALLS FOR THE TRANSMISSION PUMP IN 2016.THE RECALL CENTRE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS VIN NUMBER SPECIFIC ON THE RECALL AND THAT MINE WAS NOT GOING TO BE COVERED.

DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND IT STARTED REVING THE RPMS, MAKING A HUMMING NOISE , AND WOULDN'T MOVE.. TRANSMISSION LIGHT ON
FAULTY ACTUATOR, DOORS MAKE A SOUND WHEN UNLOCKING AND NOW RESULTING IN ONE DOOR NOT OPENING. THE NOISE HAPPENS ALL OF THE TIME (PARK OR GOING) JUST THE UNLOCK BUTTON HAS TO BE PRESSED.
WHILE DRIVING MY VAN, THE RPM'S WOULD INCREASE, BUT THERE WAS NO POWER COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. I PULLED OVER, TRIED TO PUT THE VAN IN PARK, THE ENGINE SHIFTED EXTREMELY ROUGH BEFORE GOING INTO PARK. THE AUTO BODY SHOP IS QUOTING ME FOR OVER $5,000.00 TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION.

THE TRANSMISSION OF THE DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2015. I CHECKED THE RECALL AND THE MANUFACTURER ONLY RECALLS THE ONES PRODUCED FROM 08/2015 TO 2016. MY CAR WAS PRODUCED IN 02/0215 SO IT WAS NOT RECALLED. THE TRANSMISSION KEPT GETTING PROBLEM WITH THE GEAR AND SHIFT. IT ALSO GAVE A CODE FOR P0740 TCC WHILE IT IS JUST 80,000+ MILES. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT FOR 4 MONTHS AND THE CAR HEATED UP PRETTY BAD WITH BAD SMELL AND SHAKING WHEN SPEEDING UP. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY SAID DODGE HAS PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION PUMP THAT FEEDS THE TORQUE CONVERTER, AND ALSO CAUSE FAIL HYDRAULIC PRESSURE. THIS COULD BE THE REASON FOR THE DAMAGE OF MY TORQUE CONVERTER. I DON'T KNOW WHERE AND HOW I SHOULD REPORT THIS TO GET IT FIXED BECAUSE IT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME WITH W VEHICLE JUST TURNED 80,000 MILES AND HAS A FAILED TRANSMISSION AND CAUSES SHAKING MOVEMENT WHEN SPEEDING UP WHICH COULD BE DANGEROUS WHEN I DRIVE ON A HIGHWAY. PLEASE CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER TO DISCUSS FOR RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES AS WELL ON TRANSMISSION. THEY ONLY DO THE ONES PRODUCED AFTER AUGUST, 2015 WHICH DOES NOT COVER ENOUGH VEHICLES. MY CAR HAS THAT TRANSMISSION PROBLEM (BUILT ON 02/2015). I ALSO NOTICE A LOT OF OTHER 2015 GRAND CARAVANS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION.

I WAS SITTING IN MY PARKED CAR, ENGINE OFF, WAITING FOR SOMEONE. THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST POPPED OPEN SUDDENLY. I CANNOT PUT IT BACK IN POSITION BECAUSE THE PLASTIC TABS INSIDE ARE BROKEN. I AM THANKFUL I WAS LEANING FORWARD READING A BOOK AND THAT I WAS NOT DRIVING AS THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PAINFUL AND/OR DANGEROUS.

THE LOCAL DEALER JAMES DODGE LOCATED AT 13007 WICKER AVE, CEDAR LAKE, IN 46303 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
THE TRANSMISSION JUST DIED COMING DOWN A HILL AT A SLOW SPEED NEAR MY HOME ON A CITY STREET. NO PREVIOUS NOISE OR WARNING. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. I HAVE 140,000 MILES. VAN IS WELL MAINTAINED. TOOK TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. FOUND METAL IN THE PAN.
CAR PURCHASED BRAND NEW MARCH 2015. FEBRUARY 2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 93,000 MILES EXTENSIVE OIL LEAKING DAMAGE. CAR IS LEAKING OIL FROM THE OIL FILTER HOUSING UNIT INCLUDING THE GASKETS AROUND. AT THIS POINT, THE CORRECT PART IS ON BACK ORDER FROM CHRYSLER, PER THE DEALER WHERE PURCHASED THE CAR, I AM NUMBER 28,000 PLUS IN THE LINE TO RECEIVE THIS PART. THERE IS NO ETA FOR WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. THE VAN LEAKS WHEN PARKED AND IN DRIVE. I GOT AN OIL CHANGE END OF DECEMBER 2020 AND WAS DOWN TO TWO QUARTS OF OIL IN A MONTH TIME AND 1000 MILES SINCE OIL CHANGE. THE CAR IS NOW UN DRIVEABLE AND CHRYSLER IS DOING NOTHING TO ASSIST WITH GETTING A LOANER VEHICLE.
PASSENGER SIDE FRONT HEADREST IS POPPED OUT. NOT EXACTLY SURE WHEN IT HAPPENED, BECAUSE I DIDN'T NOTICE UNTIL SOMEONE SAT IN THE SEAT AND COMPLAINED HOW UNCOMFORTABLE IT WAS FOR THEIR HEAD. IT HAD TO HAVE HAPPENED SOMETIME BETWEEN 12/1/20 AND 12/4/20.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHEN SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT ON AN INCLINE AND ALMOST ROLLED BACK INTO THE CAR BEHIND. THE TRANSMISSION PUMP FAILED AND RUINED TRANSMISSION AT 5 YEARS AND 2 MONTHS AND ONLY 81970 MILES.
FRONT SEAT ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED ON ITS OWN. VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH NOBODY INSIDE WHEN IT HAPPENED. I DID RECEIVE A LETTER IN MAIL THAT IT IS AN ISSUE AND LETTER HAD BEEN SUBMITTED WITH THIS.
THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION OUT OF NOWHERE. IT CANNOT BE UNLOCKED WITH THE BUTTONS ON THE DOOR, MANUALLY, OR WITH THE KEY FOB. IT WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT, THE NEXT MORNING I WENT TO LOAD UP MY KIDS, AND IT WOULDN'T WORK.
BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON AND OFF BY THEM SELVES MECHANIC SWITCHED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND STILL HAVE ISSUES.

I HAD MY FOOT PRESSING HARD ON THE GAS JUST TO GET TO 60 MPH. THE RPM WAS ALL THE WAY TO 6. THE VEHICLE WOULD SLOW AND SPEED UP WITH A JERK. ONCE I ARRIVED TO WORK I PARKED THE CAR. WHEN I TURNED THE VAN BACK ON MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO THEN HAD IT TOWED TO ANOTHER LOCATION THAT WAS ABLE TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION. I AM CURRENTLY AWAITING THE FULL DIAGNOSTIC. I RELIGIOUSLY MAINTAIN MY VEHICLE TO AVOID CATASTROPHIC FAILURES SUCH AS THE ONE I AM HAVING NOW. SO DISAPPOINTED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS VEHICLE AS IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SEVERAL TIME SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT WITH PROBLEMS FROM ELECTRICAL ISSUES, THE SIDE DOORS UNABLE TO OPEN, AND OIL PAIN CRACKING.

ON THURSDAY JUNE 4, 2020 I WAS OPERATING A 2015 DODGE CARAVAN OWNED BY THE DANVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS TRANSPORTATION DIVISION. WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT I RAISED THE HEIGHT OF THE HEAD REST ONE CLICK TO PLACE THE HEAD REST HIGHER UP THE BACK OF MY HEAD. WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED TO GREEN I PROCEEDED TO THE NEXT INTERSECTION AND HAD TO STOP FOR A SECOND RED LIGHT. AS I PULLED AWAY FROM THE SECOND LIGHT (AFTER A GREEN INDICATOR) THE HEAD REST SUDDENLY POPPED OPEN MAKING IMPACT WITH THE REAR OF MY HEAD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE HEAD REST DEPLOYED. I MENTIONED THE HEAD REST TO OUR SHOP TECHNICIAN WHO BEGAN TO MAKE INQUIRY INTO THE POSSIBLE CAUSE. THE SHOP TECHNICIAN SPOKE TO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE ISSUE AND WAS ADVISED THERE WERE NO RECALLS OR SAFETY BULLETINS ON THE ISSUE AND THAT NEW REPLACEMENTS WERE AVAILABLE FOR AROUND $600 AND THAT OUR BEST OPTION WOULD BE TO RETRIEVE ONE FROM A JUNK YARD. A CLOSER LOOK ON LINE INDICATED ISSUES WITH DODGE AHR HEAD REST. THE LOCKING PIN SHOULD BE RELEASED BY A SOLENOID POWERED LATCH THAT IS TRIGGERED BY THE SENSOR SYSTEM IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE PLASTIC RETAINERS THAT HOLD THE LOCKING PIN FAILED AND BROKE AWAY CAUSING THE FRONT SECTION OF THE HEAD REST TO DEPLOY WITHOUT TRIGGERING THE SOLENOID. HAVE TRIED TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE BY LOCKING DOORS MANUALLY WITH DOOR LOCK ON DRIVER'S DOOR PANEL, HOWEVER IT IS STILL MALFUNCTIONING. THE ISSUES OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED. HE HAD A FEW APPOINTMENTS TO GET THE PAIN TO STOP. I CALLED GRAVEN CHRYSLER OF LEBANON MO WHERE I PURCHASED THE VAN TO GET IT REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT DUE TO NO RECALL YET!. THE VAN HAS APPROX. 56,000 MILES AND I HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH BUMPER TO BUMPER. I WAS THEN TOLD BOTH HEADRESTS WOULD BE REPLACED UBDER THE WARRANTY YET THAT WAS OVER 6 MONTHS AGO. I WAS STILL TOLD TODAY THEY CANNOT GET NEW PARTS IN. MAYBE NEXT MONTH? WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HWY AT 60 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO NOT ACCELERATE. I HAD TO PULL OVER IN THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK. I THEN TRIED TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE TO ADVANCE FORWARD BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE BUT NO GO FASTER THEN 40MPH THE RPMS HOWEVER WE'RE JUMPING AROUND LIKE CRAZY. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP WHERE THEY LOOKED OVER THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THE TOURQUE CONVERTER FAILED AND THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD 94000 MILES.

DODGE DEALER CLAIMED NO RECALL ON MY SPECIFIC VIN, BUT FOR VEHICLES MADE AT A SIMILAR TIME. ONLY 69000 MILES ON VEHICLE.

WHEN I INSPECTED THE INSIDE OF THE HEADREST, THE PLASTIC BRACKETS THAT HOLD THE METAL PIN WERE COMPROMISED. THE METAL PIN IS STILL IN PLACE, BUT THE PLASTIC PRONGS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO HOLD ONTO THE PIN TO KEEP THE HEADREST IN PLACE BOTH FAILED. ONE CRACKED AND IS PARTIALLY ATTACHED. THE OTHER PRONG CAME OFF COMPLETELY. I BELIEVE THE PLASTIC BROKE FROM BEING UNDER PROLONGED TENSION. THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT (AHR) SYSTEM SHOULD BE RECALLED DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. THE HEADREST SHOULD NOT DEPLOY BY ITSELF. UNFORTUNATELY, FROM WHAT I HAVE READ, DODGE IS CLAIMING NO RESPONSIBILITY AND THE ISSUE IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THERE ARE SEVERAL YOUTUBE VIDEOS ON HOW TO "FIX" IT. NOT A RESULT OF A CRASH, WE WERE LOADING UP FOR A TRIP, NO ONE WAS EVEN IN THE SEAT, NOR WAS THE VEHICLE ON.

THE VAN WAS PULLED IN TO A DRIVEWAY WITH A SLIGHT TILT, PUT IN PARK, WITH THE KEY REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION, IN PARK. THE PRIMARY DRIVER ALMOST ALWAYS USES THE PARKING BRAKE, AND BELIEVES IT WAS ON AT THIS TIME. THE SLIDING DOOR BEHIND THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WAS OPENED, SOMETHING TAKEN OUT, AND CLOSED. AT THAT POINT IN TIME, THE VAN STARTED ROLLING BACKWARD, TO THE POINT WHERE IT ACTUALLY IMPACTED THE HOUSE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET. PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN REPRODUCIBLE. TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY PERFORMED BASIC TESTING, COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, BUT WILL NOT STATE THAT THE CAR IS SAFE AT THIS POINT IN TIME.
KUMHO SOLUS KH16 TIRES CAME ON MY NEW 2015 DODGE CARAVAN. ONLY 21000 MILES LATER, 3 OF THE 4 TIRES HAD PIECES OF TREAD CHUCKING OFF. TWO OF THE TIRES APPEAR TO HAVE SPLITTING IN THE RIM AREA AS IF THE CASING IS SEPARATING. I WAS 220 MILES FROM HOME ON CHRISTMAS VACATION WHEN I HAD ALL FOUR TIRES REPLACED. MY EXTENDED FAMILY HAS 2 CARAVANS WITH THE SAME KUMHO TIRES AND ALL SHOW THE SAME ISSUES. THE TIRE DEALER NOTED THE TIRES WERE MANUFACTURED IN 2014 (P225/65 R17 H100, CAB502C, 0261971, 011341SW). AFTER READING OTHER TIRE REVIEWS IT APPEARS THERE ARE MANY SAFETY AND WEAR ISSUES WITH THIS TIRE BRAND. UPON CLOSER EXAMINATION, PART OF THE PLASTIC HEADREST BROKE RELEASING THE PIN THAT IS RETAINED BY A SOLENOID. THE HEADREST CANNOT BE RESET BECAUSE THE PLASTIC THAT RETAINS THE PIN IS BROKEN. THE DEALER SAYS THE HEADREST IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. IS IT NOT PART OF THE SAFETY RESTRAINT SYSTEM? SHOULD IT NOT BE COVERED? A SEARCH OF GOOGLE SHOWS THAT THIS IS NOT THE FIRST ONE TO BREAK AND U-TUBE EVEN SHOWS HOW TO JURY-RIG A REPAIR. PROBABLY NOT VERY SAFE!
VEHICLE WITH 72,000 MILES. A WEEK PRIOR, THE DRIVER SEAT BELT ALERT LIGHT AND BEEP STARTED TO ALERT. VEHICLE TAKEN TO A LOCAL DODGE DEALER AND WE WERE TOLD THAT VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW SEAT BELT SYSTEM AND THE TOTAL COST WAS $759.00 I ASKED IF THAT FAULTY SEAT BELT SYSTEM WAS TO BE REPLACED UNDER THE WARRANTY SINCE VEHICLE WAS NOT EVEN FIVE YEARS OLD NOR MORE THAN 100K MILES. DEALER EXPLAINED THAT ONLY WARRANTY FOR SEAT BELT MALFUNCTION WAS UNTIL 36K MILES. I SHOULD NOT PAID FOR A FAULTY SEAT BELT AND DODGE SHOULD HAVE COVERED OR CHECK IF A RECALL NEEDS TO BE DONE.
THIS VAN HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEST 8 TIMES SINCE NEW. THE THROTTLE RESPONSE IS REALLY BAD. FROM STOP LIGHTS AND IN SLOW MOVING AREAS DRIVING LESS THEN 10MPH IT WILL LOSE ALMOST ALL THROTTLE CONTROL. IT WILL EITHER BE FULL THROTTLE OR NONE. WHEN PASSING SOMETIMES NOTHING WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE GAS. I'VE HAD TIMES IN TOWN THAT IT WILL JUST STICK ON FULL THROTTLE AS WELL. ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT ROLLING BACKWARDS OUT OF CONTROL WHEN IN DRIVE WE HAVE TO ALL WAYS HAVE OUR FOOT ON THE BREAKS. THE VAN ONCE ROLLED BACKWARDS DOWN A HILL WITH MY WIFE AND KIDS IN IT. MY INSURANCE PAID FOR THE DAMAGE. MY WIFE HAD IT IN DRIVE AND PRESS THE GAS TO GO UP THE HILL AND THE VAN WOULD NOT ACCELERATE IT JUST ROLLED BACKWARDS AND DAMAGED THE VAN. CAR TOWED AND STARTED ASSEMBLY REPLACED. AUGUST 8,2018, FLEXPLATE IS GOING TO HAVE TO BE REPLACED YET AGAIN AT 107000 MILES. NOISE IS VERY LOUD. HAPPENED WHILE IDLING AT RED LIGHT, AND CONTINUES ANYTIME IDLING/IN PARK. GOES AWAY DURING ACCELERATION.

CALLING OUTSIDE MECHANICS FOR A REPAIR ESTIMATE, THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH WILL TELL YOU THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM RELATED TO THE AC. THE REPAIR WAS DONE BY CHRYSLER DEALER. I CALLED CHRYSLER THEY MADE A CASE. CHRYSLER IS AWARE THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE THEY DID HELP WITH COSTS.

THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE ACTIVE-RESTRAINT HEAD RESTS WAS A DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER AND IF ANYONE HAD BEEN IN THE PASSENGER SEAT IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN INJURY. ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, WHILE IN PARK WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, THE CORRESPONDING SIDE DOORS OPENED UP WHEN THE FRONT DOOR WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING CLOSED. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDER, WHEN THE FRONT DOOR WAS BEING CLOSED. THIS HAPPENED ON A BUSY 8 LANE INTERSTATE DURING RUSH HOUR, WHILE PARKED IN THE BREAKDOWN LANE AWAITING A TOW TRUCK FOR OUR U-HAUL TRUCK/TRAILER BREAKDOWN. I WATCHED IN HORROR AS 3 OF MY 5 DOGS JUMPED OUT AND 1 RAN INTO THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS DOG, MY MALE COLLIE, RAN TO MY HUSBAND WHEN HIS NAME WAS CALLED, AND JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME, AS AN 18 WHEELER WAS LOCKING UP HIS BRAKES TO TRY AN AVOID KILLING HIM. WE MANAGED TO GET THE 3 DOGS, UNHARMED, BACK INTO THE VAN WITH THE OTHER 2 DOGS. ANOTHER INCIDENT HAPPENED ABOUT A MONTH LATER, WHILE IN PARK WITH ENGINE RUNNING, AS I WAS CLOSING THE DRIVERS DOOR, THE SLIDER DOOR OPENED UP, BUT THIS TIME THERE WAS NO OCCUPANTS IN THE BACK. I TOOK THE VAN TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT. AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO LISTED RECALLS FOR THIS. HE STATED THAT ANOTHER CUSTOMER HAD COME IN COMPLAINING OF THE REAR HATCH DOOR OPENING UP WHILE THE VAN WAS BEING DRIVEN. HE STATED THAT THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS HAVE TO BE ABLE SEE THE PROBLEM HAPPENING TO ASSESS THE SITUATION FOR REPAIR, SO HE REPLACED THE KEY FOB STATING THAT IT COULD POSSIBLY BE MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING THE PROBLEMS, BUT IF ANOTHER INCIDENT OF THIS SORT HAPPENS, TO COME BACK. HE ALSO SUGGESTED THAT THE CHILD SAFETY FEATURE OF LOCKING THE REAR DOORS FROM THE TOP BUTTONS, BE PLACED ON WHEN OCCUPANTS ARE IN THE BACK.

HAD A CLOSE CALL AT BRAKING WITH VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. BRAKING LOWERED THE RPM BUT INCREASES RPM / SPEED AGAIN WHEN RELEASING BRAKE PEDAL. STUCK WITH THIS ISSUE FOR ABOUT A QUARTER OF A MILE. ISSUE DISAPPEARED WHEN I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE MAKING A TURN. THERE WAS A STRONG FEELING OF CLICK THEN THE RED THROTTLE ISSUE INDICATOR DISAPPEARED. HAPPENED ONCE FIRST TIME THIS AM. I BOUGHT A 2015 DODGE CARAVAN AVP MODEL AND WANTED THE STOW-AWAY ROOF RACK ADDED. IT WASN'T UNTIL I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE HOME THAT I DISCOVERED THAT THE WRONG ROOF RACK HAD BEEN INSTALLED. THEN I READ THE OWNERS GUIDE AND I FOUND THE WARNING ABOUT NOT DRILLING INTO THE ROOF. THIS WARNING STATES: DO NOT ADD ROOF RACKS THAT REQUIRE ANY BOLTS OR SCREWS TO MOUNT A RACK. IT ALSO STATES THAT THE ROOF SHOULD NOT BE DRILLED INTO FOR ANY REASON. DODGE CUSTOMER CARE PUT ME IN CONTACT WITH A TECHNICIAN FROM MOPAR, THE COMPANY THAT SUPPLIES THE STOW-AWAY ROOF RACK. THAT IS WHEN I LEARNED THAT MOPAR WILL NOT SUPPLY THE STOW-AWAY RACK TO THE DEALERSHIPS BECAUSE IT CAN ONLY BE PUT ON AT THE FACTORY. HE TOLD ME ABOUT THE DANGERS OF DRILLING AND PUTTING SCREWS INTO THE ROOF. NOT ONLY COULD AN AIRBAG DEPLOY WHILE THE RACK IS BEING INSTALLED, BUT IF A SCREW IS TOUCHING OR IN NEAR CONTACT WITH THE AIRBAG OR WIRING, THE SYSTEM COULD FAIL LATER. THIS MEANS THAT THE 14 SCREWS THAT WERE DRILLED INTO THE ROOF COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BY DEPLOYING THE AIR BAGS PREMATURELY OR THEY MAY NOT WORK AT ALL IN AN EVENT THAT REQUIRES THEM. SO FAR NO ONE FROM DODGE WILL PUT IN WRITING THAT MY VEHICLE IS SAFE AND THAT I HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. MY REQUEST TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TO DODGE CUSTOMER CARE FOR PAPER WORK ABOUT THE ROOF RACK HAVE GONE UNANSWERED. I HAVE ALSO BEEN TRYING TO GET PROOF OF WHO INSTALLED THE ROOF RACK AND THE WARRANTY CARD THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE FILLED OUT BY THE INSTALLER. I FEEL THE VEHICLE THAT STRUCK MY VAN WAS DOING AT LEAST 20 MPH AT THE TIME OF IMPACT AND THE SIDE IMPACT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. IN MY RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT IMPACTS FROM 8 TO 18 MPH SHOULD CAUSE THESE SIDE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING FOR MYSELF AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS WITH THESE TYPES OF VEHICLES. CHRYSLER HAD AN "INDEPENDENT" INVESTIGATOR INSPECT THE VAN BEFORE ANY REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. I WAS NOT ASKED TO BE PRESENT AT THE TIME OF THE INSPECTION OR GIVEN A COPY OF THE REPORT. I WILL BE ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT THE "INDEPENDENT" INVESTIGATOR FOR A COPY OF THE REPORT BUT DON'T FEEL THAT I WILL HAVE MUCH LUCK. THERE WERE FOUR CHILDREN IN THE VAN ALONG WITH MY SPOUSE WHEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED AND THANKFULLY NO CRITICAL INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THE AIR BAGS WERE SUPPOSED TO WORK. FOLLOWING SIGNING PAPERWORK WE FOUND THE DRIVER SIDE BOTTOM TRIM POPPED OUT. THE CLIP THAT HOLDS THE SMALL TRIM PIECE IN WAS BROKE. LATER IN THE DAY MY WIFE GOT HER ARM PINCHED HARD BY THE DRIVER SIDE AUTO CLOSING DOOR LEAVING A NASTY BRUISE ON BOTH SIDES OF HER ARM. THE DOOR HESITATED TO REOPEN AND CONTINUED TO CLOSE ON HER ARM. TOOK VAN BACK TO DEALER ON MONDAY 4/20/15 TO HAVE TRIM PIECE FIXED. FOUND OUT THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME THEY SAW THIS ISSUE. AFTER LOOKING AT THE POPPED TRIM PIECE I NOTICED THE BOTTOM CORNER OF THE VAN BEHIND THE POPPED TRIM HAD BEGAN TO RUST OUT WITH THE PAINT CHIPPED. NOW WILL HAVE TO HAVE PAINT AND NEW TRIM PIECE ON A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. REGARDING THE AUTO DOOR CLOSING THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID SHE WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY SENSITIVITY SETTINGS BUT WOULD LOOK INTO IT TO AVOID THE INJURY HAPPENING AGAIN. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS VAN WITH 13 MILES ON IT. THE VAN SHAKES/SHUDDERS ON AN INCLINE. THIS OCCURS FROM TIME TO TIME IN DRIVE BUT IS VERY BAD WHEN IN REVERSE. I NOTICED THIS FIRST WHEN GOING UP A HILL TO GET OUT OF OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. I FIRST NOTICED IT IN REVERSE WHEN BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY WHICH IS A VERY SLIGHT INCLINE. THE SHUDDERING OCCURS EACH TIME I GO UP THE HILL, NEAR OUR HOME. UNLESS THE GROUND IS COMPLETELY FLAT OR I AM BACKING DOWN AN INCLINE, REVERSE FEELS LIKE AN OLD STICK SHIFT THAT "TREMBLES" AS YOU BACK UP OR ACCELERATE. I DID NOT BUY "NEW" TO HAVE ISSUES LIKE THIS. THE VAN HAS LESS THAN 30 MILES ON IT. *TR

I GOT THIS CAR ON JANUARY 17, 2015, I WAS NOT TOLD IT HAS NOT AN ALARM INCLUDED, I ASSUME THAT AS AIR CONDITIONING, ALARM WAS INCLUDED, ON FEB 19 WHILE MY CAR WAS PARKED, A THIEF BROKE THE BACK WINDOW, VANDALIZING THE CAR BODY AND STEALING MY PRESCRIPTION GLASSES. ALL PEOPLE AT WORK AND FRIENDS ASKED WHAT HAPPEN WITH THE ALARM, THEN I ASKED THE DEALER (DODGE AT 321 FRONT STREET IN TORONTO) AND AFTER HESITATIONS, THEY SAID IT HAS NOT. I FEEL CHEATED, AND TODAY I AM SURE THIS IS A FLAW OF THE CAR, OTHER ISSUES IS, THOSE VENTILATION BACK WINDOWS ARE ANOTHER BIG FLAW, BEING MANUAL IN MY CAR, THEY OPEN FROM INSIDE JUST PULLING THEM, THIS IS UNBELIEVING, SO THIS CAR HAS NOT ANY SECURITY AT ALL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE CAR SAFETY REGULATORS ALLOW THE MANUFACTURER COME WITH A CAR WITH SUCH HUGE FLAWS. *TR UPDATED 4/14/16 *JS

FCA US LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Chrysler Town and Country, and 2014-2015 Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured August 16, 2014, to December 5, 2015. The windshield on the affected vehicles may have been installed using expired urethane primer, allowing the windshield to become displaced in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 212, "Windshield Mounting."

The transmission pump may seize causing a loss of hydraulic pressure.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.
