The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that he noticed a leak underneath the vehicle on the driver’s side near the engine. The contact inspected the underside of the vehicle and discovered that support near the engine was completely rusted through. The contact drove the vehicle to the local dealer for an oil change, where the vehicle was inspected and found that the rusted support needed to be replaced. The dealer advised the contact that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had been informed by the dealer and by the contact of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
We repaired brakes on this vehicle that is owned by one of our customers business. When you replace rear brake rotors on these vans the caliper bracket mounting bolts and the bolts that hold the rotors to the axle and the differential must be replaced. They are torque to yield bolts and only one use is permitted. We have several vehicle in fleets that we work on that have these same vans. We had always used the Ford replacement bolts and had no issues. NAPA started stocking a Dorman supplied bolts for the rotors to be attached. The part number for the NAPA parts are 92601271. The bolts sheared off on the right rear and allowed the right rear tire and wheel to come out of the rear axle housing. The repair was done on 3-24-21 at 66644 miles and the failure occurred 10-7-21 at 76263. The Ford number for these bolts is W716084-S439. The head markings for the Ford ones are SPF 10.9 and the Dorman ones are 322 10.9.
The contact's husband owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact's husband received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V767000 (Power Train). The vehicle was taken to the dealer and repaired under recall. The contact then stated that while her husband was driving at various speeds, the vehicle would vibrate without warning. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where they requested to keep the vehicle for inspection. The contact also had attempted to reach the manufacturer but had no success. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while his son was driving 65 MPH, he heard an abnormal noise and had to depress the brake pedal to the floor to stop the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed first to his son's employer and then to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V767000 (Power Train). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 374,000.
Exhaust manifold studs failed and exhaust both manifolds warped at appropriately 85,000 miles. The repair estimate is over $4,000.00.

Vehicle lost power while driving .Step on gas and nothing . Idling and no power
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while driving 81 MPH, the vehicle loss motive power without warning and almost caused a collision. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and diagnosed that the driveshaft had separated and damaged the transmission, emission system, the brakes and fuel lines. Upon investigating, the contact's wife related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V767000 (Power Train) which was associated with the VIN. The dealer was made aware of the failure and the dealer notified the manufacturer of the failure. The manufacturer informed the dealer to not perform the recall repair since the vehicle was over the 100,000 miles warranty. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the independent mechanic. The failure mileage was 243,839.
Failure and stall occurred 8-9-21. Throttle body internal fault. A Ford dealer in Aurora, Colorado diagnosed, has the vehicle, and the defective part. I don't know if they will hold on to it for inspection. My vehicle stalled while driving on a busy road and lost power. The warning message said something to the effect of "terminal engine failure, requires service" I was lucky enough to get my vehicle to the side of the road in heavy traffic, but it was stalled in a precarious spot and the vehicle did in fact get hit while I waited for the tow truck. I was worried for my safety, so I was waiting off of the road about 15 feet from my vehicle rather than in it. This is a potentially life-threatening issue. Had I been on a highway in heavy traffic, this could have caused a major accident. This appears to be a common issue, so I am not sure why it has no recall at this time. In my opinion, it needs one for the safety of the vehicle owners and those around them in traffic.
VAN WILL MAKE A VIBRATING NOISE THAT IS NOT FELT THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL OR PEDALS AT APPROXIMATELY 45MPH. IT WILL AGAIN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS 65+MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHIFTING IN AND OUT OF OVERDRIVE MAKE THE SAME AUDIBLE VIBRATION. LOCAL FORD DEALER ATTRIBUTED THIS TO A MANUFACTURER RECALL OF THE DRIVE SHAFT. DRIVESHAFT HAS BEEN REPLACED OR WORKED ON AT THREE DIFFERENT POINTS OF TIME OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS. PROBLEM HAS NEVER BEEN FIXED. CURRENTLY AS OF 5-14-21 FORD DEALER HAS IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM TO BE THE TORQUE CONVERTER AT THE EXPENSE OF $4,000.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND WHILE CHANGING GEARS. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT TO FOUR GEAR, THE VEHICLE INSTEAD SHIFTED INTO FIFTH GEAR INADVERTENTLY. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED TWO MONTHS PRIOR UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V767000 (POWER TRAIN) AT PINES FORD (8655 PINES BLVD, PEMBROKE PINES, FL 33024). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,127.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 FORD TRANSIT 250 3.5 ON THE INTERSTATE THE VAN LOST POWER AND NEARLY GOT MY KILLED WHILE TRYING TO NAVIGATE OFF THE ROAD WITHOUT POWER. THE THROTTLE BODY CODE WAS THROWN ON THE CPU, AND I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT THESE NEED TO BE REPLACED WAY MORE THAN NORMAL WITH THESE FORDS. IT'S A HAZARD TO SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN WITHOUT WARNING! AND THE REPLACEMENT PART IS STILL FAULTY. THE THROTTLE BODIES NEED TO BE RECALLED.
TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED, REQUIRING REPLACEMENT AT 75,942 MILES. DUE TO A VEHICLE DESIGN THAT ALLOWS POOLING OF WATER & RUSTING IN THE CONTROL ARM ATTACHMENT BOLTS, BOTH CONTROL ARMS HAD TO BE REPLACED DURING THE TORQUE CONVERTER REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE STARTED RUMBLING. 2015 FORD TRANSIT PRESENTS WITH NO START CONDITION LOSE OF FUEL AND CODE P0230 ON FURTHER DIAGNOSIS FOUND ENGINE COMPARTMENT FUSE BOX TO HAVE MULTIPLE FUSE TERMINALS LOOSE FROM THE BOARD. TO BE CLEAR THESE DO NOT APPEAR AS FUSES LOOSE FROM THE TERMINAL THEY GO IN, THIS IS THE TERMINAL SEEMS LOOSE FROM THE CIRCUIT BOARD. EITHER WAY THE EFFECT IS THE SAME, CAUSING THEM TO LOSE POWER INTERMITTENTLY INCLUDING THE FUEL PUMP CREATING A NO START AND OR DIE WHILE DRIVING CONDITION POTENTIALLY CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING. HAVE VIDEO DOCUMENTING THE CONDITION AS WELL AS TWO PICTURES INCLUDED SHOWING VOLTAGE FLUCTUATING..
FOLLOW-UP TO PRIOR PROBLEM REPORT ON THIS VIN. AFTER 24 HRS WITH BATTERY DISCONNECTED, I RECONNECTED BATTERY. PRIOR PROBLEM DID NOT REPRODUCE AND VEHICLE APPEARED TO POWER-UP NORMALLY. I USED THE KEY TO SUCCESSFULLY START AND RUN THE ENGINE. BUT THERE WERE NO INSTRUMENT READINGS, TACHOMETER READ ZERO. I MOVED THE KEY BACK TO THE OFF POSITION, BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN. THE ONLY WAY TO KILL THE ENGINE WAS TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLE. THAT MEANS THE DEFECTIVE MODULE IS NOT FAILING SAFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE DRIVESHAFT FLEXIBLE COUPLING FAILED AND CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION AND THE DRIVESHAFT TO FRACTURE. THE VEHICLE WENT AIR BORNE. THE CONTACT SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE NECK, BACK, AND HEAD. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE KNEES, HEAD, HIP, NECK, AND BACK. BOTH RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT ADVISED THAT THE POLICE WAS NOT PRESENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BRIAN TOLIVER FORD (1040 GILMER ST, SULPHUR SPRING, TX 75482, PHONE (877) 800-3241), THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V767000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 230,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
A CONTROL MODULE BEGAN MALFUNCTIONING BY FIRST CAUSING THE HEADLIGHTS TO COME ON SPONTANEOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED (AT HOME), HEADLIGHT SWITCH OFF, NO KEY IN IGNITION. AFTER REMOVING THE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE, ANY ATTEMPT TO RECONNECT THE BATTERY CAUSES THE STARTER MOTOR TO SPONTANEOUSLY ENERGIZE AND THE ENGINE TO START RUNNING, AGAIN WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION. I AM ABLE TO ALWAYS REPRODUCE THIS MALFUNCTION. I IMMEDIATELY DISCONNECT THE BATTERY EACH TIME, AS I CONSIDER THIS MALFUNCTION TO BE POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS, AND I CANNOT PREDICT WHAT FURTHER MALFUNCTION MIGHT ENSUE. I ACQUIRED THIS VEHICLE USED ~12 MONTHS AGO, AND IT HAS RUN NORMALLY UNTIL NOW. CURRENT MILEAGE ~81,700. THERE HAVE BEEN NO MODIFICATIONS TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
THE DIFFERENTIAL HAS FAILED PREMATURELY AT 65000 MILES AFTER TWO DRIVESHAFT COUPLING RECALL REPAIRS

WAS DRIVING TO NEW ORLEANS WHEN I WAS CAUGHT IN A VERY HEAVY RAIN STORM. THE VAN STARTED TO DRIVE ROUGH A DAY LATER. TOOK IT INTO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR A DRIVESHAFT RECALL AND OIL CHANGE ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT WATER GOT INTO THE HOUSING FOR THE AIR FILTER AND SOAKED THE FILTER. THE WATER THEN MADE IT'S WAY THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE. AFTER, I THEN LEARNED OF FORD ISSUING A TSB THAT WOULD HAVE SAVED MY VAN SHOULD IT OF BEEN A RECALL OR CHECKED BY MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHEN I HAD PREVIOUS WORK COMPLETED.
DRIVE SHAFT PROBLEM, VAN VIBRATION AT 60-70 MPH COMING FROM DRIVE SHAFT . LAST DRIVE SHAFT RECALL THEY INSTALLED A SOMETHING THAT LOOKS LIKE WEIGHT PIECE ON THE DIFFERENTIAL , SINCE THAN THE VAN IS RATTLING AT THAT SPEED IN WAVES .

WHILE I WAS DRIVING, ALL THE DASHBOARD GAUGES QUIT WORKING AND THE LIGHTS WENT OFF. I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT SO IT WAS A LITTLE CONCERNING SINCE I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING ON MY DASHBOARD AND THE SPEEDOMETER WASN'T WORKING. I WAS TOLD THE BODY CONTROL MODULE IS BAD AND AFTER LOOKING AT FORUMS, IT SEEMS THIS IS AN ISSUE AMONGST MANY FORD TRANSIT OWNERS. IT SEEMS UNSAFE THAT THAT CAN HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING. I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL SINCE IT SEEMS SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE AN ISSUE AND LOOKS LIKE THERE ISN'T.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE CHECK AT WORLD FORD/KENDALL (15551 W DIXIE HWY, MIAMI, FL 33162, (800) 739-1959). AFTER RETRIEVING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE FOLLOWING DAY DURING RAINY WEATHER, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE FAILED TO TURN OVER. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED THAT WATER ENTERED THE ELECTRICAL COMPARTMENT CAUSING THE FUSE TO FAIL. ON OR ABOUT 4/8/2020 MY AMBULETTE WITH A PASSENGER COMPLETELY STALLED. IT WAS TOWED TO OUR NYS DOT SHOP IN WESTBURY THAT REGULATES AMBULETTES. THIS VEHICLE , A 2015 FORD TRANSIT 150 IS SUPPOSED TO CIRCULATE TRANSMISSION FLUID COMING FROM TRANSMISSION AND COOLANT FROM THE RADIATOR AT THE SAME TIME. COOLANT CIRCULATION IS SUPPOSED TO COOL TRANSMISSION FLUID WITHOUT BEING MIXED. WHEN THE SERVICE IS COMPROMISED AND MIXES TOGETHER, IT WILL CONTAMINATE BOTH FLUIDS-COOLANT IN THE TRANSMISSION.TRANSMISSION FLUID,COOLING SYSTEM(RADIATOR AND THERMOSTAT). COOLANT FROM THE RADIATOR WILL T TO WATER PUMP AND COOL OFF AND ENGINE -OVERHEATING PROCESS AND ENGINE CHANGE. THE EARLIER THE CONTAMINATION PROCESS IS STOPPED, THE HIGHER THE CHANCE THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE WILL UNDERGO FROM A COMPLETE SHUTDOWN

THE VEHICLE STALLED UPON BACKING OUT OF A STEEP DRIVEWAY & TURNING TO THE LEFT. IT WOULD NOT RESTART. THE VAN HAD BEEN PARKED, AT A CUSTOMERS' HOME ALL DAY. HEAVY SNOW BEGAN FALLING A COUPLE OF HOURS BEFORE THE VAN WAS STARTED & WARMED UP TO MELT THE SNOW FROM THE WINDSHIELD. WHEN THE VAN STALLED, IT WAS BROADSIDE TO THE STREET, BLOCKING BOTH OPPOSING LANES OF TRAVEL AS THE HEAVY SNOW INCREASED IN INTENSITY. THE VAN WAS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO PUSH OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, DUE TO THE QUICKLY ACCUMULATING SNOW, INITIALLY PREVENTING A PLOW & POLICE CRUISER FROM PASSING. AAA TOWING WAS CALLED BUT, DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL 2 HOURS AFTER BEING SUMMONSED AS THE SNOW CONTINUED TO ACCUMMULATE. I HAD THE VAN TOWED TO OUR BUSINESS LOCATION AND DECIDED TO CHECK THE ENGINE AIR FILTER. WHEN I OPENED THE FILTER HOUSING, IT AND THE AIR FITER WERE WATER-SOAKED. I OBSERVED WATER RUNNING DOWN THE WINDSHIELD, DOWN ALONG THE FIREWALL AND ONTO/INTO THE AIR FILTER BOX. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER (FORD OF WILBRAHAM, MA, TEL.: 413-543-2800) TO REPORT MY FINDINGS & TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE SOLUTION WAS PERFORMED AS PER TSB (TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN) #19-2091 AND AT A COST OF $488.45 (INVOICE #659506), WHICH I RELUCTANTLY PAID TO THE DEALER. I EXPLAINED THAT THIS A POOR DESIGN ALLOWING WATER TO RUN DIRECTLY INTO THE AIR FILTER BOX, WHICH, IN TURN, SHUTS DOWN THE ENGINE & RENDERS THE VEHICLE MOTIONLESS & CAN BE DANGEROUS, DEPENDING UPON WHERE & WHEN THE VEHICLES' ENGINE STALLS & THEN FAILS TO RESTART. THE SERVICE WRITER SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING SHE COULD DO TO HELP ME & THAT I AM STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE TSB. IN ADDITION, MY INVOICE INDICATES THAT RECALL #19S38 WAS PERFORMED, YET IT IS STILL OUTSTANDING ON THE RECALL WEBSITE UNDER MY VEHICLES' VIN. FOR THE RECORD, THIS VAN HAD ONLY 31,853 MILES ON IT, WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN FOR THIS PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED HIS VEHICLE WAS LISTED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V408000 (POWER TRAIN). THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY ALREADY SERVICED. HOWEVER AFTER 7,000 MILES, THE FAILURE HAD REOCCURRED AND THE DEALER (BLUEBONNET FORD LOCATED AT 351 I-35, NEW BRAUNFELS, TX 78130) REFUSED TO RE-SERVICE THE VEHICLE BEING THAT THE MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTED THAT THE NEXT REPAIR HAD TO BE COMPLETED AT 40,000 MILES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT 350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR INTAKE WAS MOUNTED ON THE VEHICLE IN A WAY THAT ALLOWED WATER TO GET INSIDE AND RUST OUT THE BOLTS THAT SECURED THE AIR INTAKE IN PLACE. AS A RESULT, ANTI-FREEZE WOULD LEAK AND POSSIBLY CAUSE A FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS LOSING ANTI-FREEZE AND THE TOP OF THE ENGINE WAS SMOKING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE BOLTS HAD COMPLETELY RUSTED AND THE WATER FROZE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. WHEN THE ICE MELTED AND THE ENGINE WARMED UP FROM DRIVING, A FIRE NEARLY OCCURRED. THE CONTACT SAW SMOKE, PULLED OVER, AND OPENED THE HOOD. THE CONTACT HAD TO CALL TO HAVE MORE ANTI-FREEZE DELIVERED TO REFILL THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GARNET FORD (1610 WILMINGTON PIKE, WEST CHESTER, PA 19382 (610) 358-5600) WHERE IT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND TRANSFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.
I HAVE A 2015 FORD TRANSIT 15 PASSENGER VEHICLE THAT WAS PURCHASED IN NOV 2016 WITH 20,000 MILES. APRIL 2019 THE DRIVESHAFT FLEXIBLE COUPLING WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. IN JULY 2019 WE BEGAN HEARING A NOTICEABLE VIBRATION / SUBWOOFER DRONE / HUM IN THE VEHICLE.THE DRONE DOESN'T HAPPEN AT A SPECIFIC SPEED BUT IS PREVALENT WHEN WE'RE RUNNING 50-70 MPH AND BETWEEN 2000 AND 2500 RPM. THIS DRONE SOUND IS NOT CONSISTENT BUT NOW VIBRATES THE ENTIRE CABIN WHEN IT DOES APPEAR. I CAN STOP THE SOUND BY PULLING FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL. HOWEVER IT JUST RE-APPEARS AT A LATER TIME. WE HAVE NOTED THAT IT IS PROGRESSIVELY GETTING MORE FREQUENT AND LOUDER - EVEN VIBRATING THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAD THE AUTONATION UNION CITY, GA DEALERSHIP LOOK AT IT AND THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER (TC) IS FAILING AND CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION -- IT WOULD BE A $3,000 REPAIR. I HAVE SINCE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS AND HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS OTHERS WITH THE SAME VIBRATION AND FOR THE MOST PART - IT APPEARS THE TC WAS THE SOLUTION.. HOWEVER, NOT ALWAYS. PLEASE SEE THIS THREAD - HTTPS://WWW.FORDTRANSITUSAFORUM.COM/THREADS/DRIVESHAFT-DRONE-NOISE-SURVEY.60498/PAGE-7 NEITHER FORD NOR I KNOW THE EXACT SOLUTION UNTIL WE PULL THE TRANSMISSION BUT IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS POINTING TO THE TC?
IT APPEARS THAT THIS MODEL HAS AN ENGINE FAILURE ISSUE RELATED TO WATER ENTERING THE AIR BOX AND CAUSING THE WATER TO TRAVEL TO COMPONENTS THAT DISABLES THE CAR. I WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN AND GOT STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND HEAVY RAIN ON I40 IN KNOXVILLE TN FOR AN HOUR WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK TO GET ME OUT OF A DANGEROUS SITUATION. HAD IT TOWED TO A DEALER THAT PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THE NEXT DAY THAT THERE WAS A TSB ON THIS ISSUE AND THAT THERE WAS A KIT THAT REMEDIES THE PROBLEM. A DEFLECTOR OF SOME SORT TO KEEP WATER OUT OF THE AIR BOX. THE COST TO THE CONSUMER IS OVER $750 TO GET IT DONE. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT IS FORD KNOWS ABOUT ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND HAS COME UP WITH A SOLUTION, IT SHOULD BE A RECALL AND NOT JUST A TSB. THEIR POOR DESIGN AND NEGLIGENCE PUT ME IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR ABOUT AN HOUR . I COULD HAVE BEEN RAMMED BY HIGHWAY TRAVELERS AND POSSIBLY KILLED BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS DISABLED BECAUSE OF A POOR DESIGN THAT FORD REFUSES TO REPAIR AT THEIR COST. SOMEONE PLEASE ADVISE FORD AND THEIR DEALERS THAT THIS IS NOT A CONVENIENCE ISSUE, BUT A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE THAT FORD SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL TO REMEDY THE POOR DESIGN AT THEIR COST. THANK YOU.
I AM CALLING NUMEROUS TIMES TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO CORRECT THE DRIVESHAFT FLEXIBLE COUPLING REPLACEMENT' I AM WAS TOLD NUMEROUS TIMES THAT SOMEONE WILL GET BACK TO US. IT NEVER HAPPENED I WOULD LIKE THIS ISSUE TO BE REPAIRED ASAP! [XXX], HASCCENTER [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND THE RPMS BEGAN TO LOWER. THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY STALLED. THE CONTACT AND THE PASSENGER HAD TO PUSH THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BLAKE UTTER FORD (LOCATED AT 215 HWY 75 NORTH, DENISON, TX 75020, 903-465-5671) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THE DEALER WAS STILL LOOKING TO SEE IF ANY OTHER FAILURES COULD BE PRESENT WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 257,655.
THE UNDERCARRIAGE STARTED TO MAKE A BANG BANG NOISE. THE VAN WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL GARAGE. AT THAT TIME IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WAS UNDRIVABLE. THE VAN WAS TAKEN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT HAS DONE THE PREVIOUS REPAIRS ON THE COUPLER. THEY STATED THAT THE PERMANENT FIX WAS PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED AND THAT NO UPDATED PART WAS AVAILABLE AND THE FORD WAS NOT GOING TO COVER THE REPAIR. THIS SITUATION IS VERY UNSAFE. A FAILURE OF THIS KIND COULD EASILY CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT THAT COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF LIFE. THE COUPLER DISINTEGRATED. SEE ATTACHED PICTURES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V408000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED JANNELL MOTORS INC (2000 WASHINGTON ST, HANOVER, MA 02339, (781) 982-4500) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. *DT
MY WIPERS WORK ONLY INTERMITTENTLY. THEY WILL WORK FOR A LITTTLE WHILE, THEN SUDDENLY STOP WORKING, AND START WORKING AGAIN LATER. IT HAPPENS IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS, IN WARM & COLD WEATHER, WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN THE VAN IS PARKED. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE SWITCH, WHICH THEY REPLACED, BUT THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER, AND THEY RAN DIAGNOSTICS ON IT. THEY SAID THE CODE THEY GOT GAVE THEM A LIST OF THINGS THAT THEY CAN CHECK, BUT MANY OF THEM ARE VERY LABOR INTENSIVE TO DO AND THEREFORE VERY COSTLY (LIKE TAKING APART THE STEERING COLUMN TO CHECK SOME PINS TO SEE IF THEY ARE CORRODED). ONE OF THE THINGS THEY SAID THEY NEED TO CHECK TAKES ABOUT 5 HOURS TO DO, SO AT $100/HR (WHAT MY LOCAL FORD DEALER CHARGES), THE LABOR ALONE WOULD COST ME $500, AND THAT DOESN'T EVEN INCLUDE THE COST OF ANY REPAIRS. THIS IS A GENUINE SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AND FIXED WITHOUT THE CUSTOMER PAYING HUNDREDS AND POSSIBLY EVEN THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX THE PROBLEM.

THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS INVOLVED IN A RECALL WHICH FORD SAID THEY REPAIRED, NOW THE SAME PROBLEM IS BACK. THE DRIVE SHAFT MAKES A SERIOUS VIBRATION ESPECIALLY WHEN MOVING ALONG A FAIRLY LEVEL SURFACE WHERE THE ENGINE IS NOT DRIVING VERY STRONGLY. ESPECIALLY ON A HIGHWAY AT 35 TO 65 MPH. ALSO ESPECIALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COASTING ON A HIGHWAY, ESPECIALLY IN A GRADUAL TURN WHILE COASTING.
THIS VAN HAD A DRIVE SHAFT RECALL BEFORE WE GET THE SERVICE IT BROKE AND CAUSED LOTS OF DAMAGES INCLUDE TRANSMISSION. IT TOOK MORE THAN 3 MONTHS DURING THAT TIME WE PAID THE RENT CAR AND FORD SAID IT WILL REIMBURSE IT BUT WHEN WE CLAIM IT, FORD REFUSED PAY FOR IT AND LATER DID NOT RESPOND OUR EMAIL OR PHONE CALL.
THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY DEVELOPED HESITATION TO START ONE DAY AS IF IT WASN'T GETTING ENOUGH FUEL OR AIR. IT DID START AND I DROVE HOME FROM WORK. I PLANNED TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP TO GET IT CHECKED OUT BUT THE NEXT DAY BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. I ATTEMPTED TO JUMP-START BUT THE BATTERY WAS AT FULL VOLTAGE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE CAR. I WAS INFORMED THE NEXT DAY BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT THERE WAS A TSB ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY WAS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME $850 PLUS TAX. APPARENTLY THE CABIN AIR FILTER IS NOT PROPERLY WEATHER SEALED AND UNDER NORMAL USE WATER WILL MAKE ITS WAY INTO THE FILTER, AND INTO THE MASS AIR SENSOR. FORD HAS MADE NEW REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THIS ISSUE BUT BECAUSE I AM OUT OF WARRANTY BY A FEW MONTHS, I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE BILL. HAD THE PART GIVEN OUT WHILE DRIVING (ESPECIALLY AT HIGH SPEEDS) THE ENGINE WOULD SEIZE AND COULD HAVE LIKELY CAUSED A CRASH.
ENGINE WOULD STALL WHILE DRIVING AND DOESN'T WANT TO START THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES ONCE WHILE DRIVING. THIRD TIME IT HAD TO TOWED AWAY . LOOKS LIKE FUEL NOT GETTING TO THE ENGINE OR PROBLEM WITH FUEL SYSTEM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT DETECTED AN ABNORMAL EXHAUST OR CARBON MONOXIDE ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE BOLTS WERE STUCK IN THE ENGINE AND CAUSED A CARBON MONOXIDE LEAK. THE DEALER STATED THAT A NEW ENGINE NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 188,000.
2015 FORD TRANSIT CARGO E250 CAB FILLED WITH EXHAUST FUMES WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AND BECAME OVERWHELMING. I TRADED CARS WITH MY WIFE SO SHE COULD TAKE OUR 6 KIDS HOME. TOWED THE VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP WHO DIAGNOSED A FAULTY FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE. SAID THIS HAPPENS A LOT. SEVERAL OTHER FORD VEHICLES HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS REASON BUT NOT THE 2015 TRANSIT.
I WAS AT A RED LIGHT WHEN MY CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED TO OVERHEAT, THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 64K MILES ON IT. HAVE KEPT UP WITH MAINTENANCE AND ALL OF THAT. TURNS OUT THE WATER PUMP IS BAD AND WAS LEAKING REALLY BAD. NOT SURE WHY THIS HAPPENED 3 YEAR OLD FORD VAN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MULLINAX FORD OF KISSIMMEE (1810 E IRLO BRONSON MEMORIAL HWY, KISSIMMEE, FL 34744, (407) 846-6000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER GROMMET LEAKED ONTO THE ENGINE, WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,435.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED AND A BANGING NOISE WAS HEARD UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD AND DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE INSTANTLY. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FIRST FORD (292 WILLIAM S CANNING BLVD, FALL RIVER, MA 02721, 508-730-1000) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED RIGHT AWAY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE DEALER WOULD BE CONTACTED FOR PICTURES OF THE FAILURES. THE DEALER DID NOT PROVIDE THE PICTURES AND STATED THAT IT WOULD BE TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE VEHICLE COULD BE DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

FORD ISSUED RECALL 17S15 ON THE FLEXIBLE DRIVE SHAFT COUPLING, THEIR PERMANENT FIX HAS FAILED ON MY VEHICLE AFTER ONLY 45,000 MILES AND THEY HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AND ARE REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT INCLUDING WHAT IS THE RIGHT THING AND ISSUE ANOTHER RECALL. ALSO AS PART OF THE RECALL SERVICE, THEY ARE REMOVING THE HOOPS THAT CATCH THE DRIVE SHAFT WHEN THE COUPLER SEPARATES MAKING THIS AN UNSAFE SITUATION LIKELY TO CAUSE ACCIDENTS. I HAVE ATTACHED A PICTURE SHOWING CRACKS IN MY "PERMANENT FIX" DRIVE SHAFT COUPLER AS WELL AS COPIES OF MY COMMUNICATION WITH FORD AND THEIR REFUSAL TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. FORD SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN FOR KNOWINGLY PUTTING UNSAFE VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. *TT *TR
WHILE AT FORD DEALER FOR CORRECTION OF A SAFETY RECALL ISSUE I REQUESTED THE DEALER TO CHECK VEHICLE OVER AND TO DETERMINE IF MY VEHICLE'S REAR BRAKE CALIPER ANCHOR PLATE OR BRACKEDS WERE INTALLED INCORRECTLY (AS THERE IS/WAS A TSB ISSUED FOR THIS MODEL AND MY VAN WAS INCLUDED. THE TSB # IS 15-0190. INSPECTION OF MY VEHICLE REVEALED THAT MY VEHICLE DOES IN FACT HAVE THIS ABNORMNAL ASSEMBLY (THE RIGHT SIDED BRACKET IS UPSIDE DOWN ON THE LEFT SIDE AND THE LEFT SIDED PLATE IS INSTALLED ON THE RIGHT. BECAUSE MY VEHICLE DOES NOT AT THIS TIME APPEAR TO BE EXHIBITING UNEVEN BRAKE WEAR AND IT HAS 41500 MILES FORD DOES NOT COVER OR REQUIRE A REPAIR AND I WAS TOLD I WOULD NEED TO HAVE A BRAKE JOB DONE AT ESTIMATED COST OF $825 DURING WHICH WOULD ALLOW THE ANCHOR PLATES TO BE CORRECTED. I FEEL THIS TSB SHOULD BE UPGRADED TO A RECALL TO CORRECT THIS MISASSEMBLY WHICH MAY AFFECT THE BRAKE PERFORMANCE OF MY VEHICLE IN THE FUTURE. I WAS TOLD I AM OUT OF WARRANTEE BY TIME AND MILEAGE AND BECAUSE MY VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN EXHIBITING UNEVEN BRAKE WEAR THAT FORD DID NOT HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO FIX IT AS IT INVOLVES A TSB RATHER THAN A RECALL. MY VEHICLE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST BUILT WITH ASSEMBLY DATE 4/2014. I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD BE MADE A RECALL IF THAT IS WHAT IT WILL REQUIRE TO MAKE FORD CORRECT THIS. I SIMPLY WANT MY VEHICLE PUT TOGETHER THE WAY IT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN AND TO PREVENT BRAKE ISSUES FROM OCCURING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WAS LATCHED, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A SEVERE VIBRATION. THE DEALER LASCO FORD (2525 OVEN RD, FENTON, MI) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHERE THEY CONFIRMED THE VEHICLE HAD AN ABNORMAL SHAKE AND THE FAILURE WAS INHERENT TO THAT MODEL. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE DRIVE SHAFT COUPLING WAS REPLACED AT IMLAY CITY FORD (1788 S CEDAR ST, IMLAY CITY, MI). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INHERENT WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000.
ON AN ENTRANCE RAMP TO A HIGHWAY I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION FOLLOWED BY WHAT SOUNDED LIKE HEAVY RAIN. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED THAT SMALL FLIP-OUT WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE CARGO DOOR HAD SHATTERED INTO A MILLION PIECES THAT WERE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE THAT THIS DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY ANYTHING HITTING IT. FOR THIS REASON MY THEORY IS THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY SOME INTERNAL STRESS CAUSED BY THE DESIGN OR MATERIAL. I WAS THANKFUL THAT THERE WERE NO PASSENGERS THAT MAY HAVE BEEN INJURED BY THE FLYING GLASS. ALTHOUGH I AM STILL COVERED UNDER MY NEW VEHICLE 3 YEAR / 36,000 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY, FORD HAS REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT OR PAY TO REPLACE THIS WINDOW. ALTHOUGH IT IS JUST ABOUT 12"SQUARE, THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $970 TO REPLACE IT.

OUR TRANSIT VAN HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH SEVERE VIBRATION IN THE DRIVELINE SINCE ABOUT 25,000 MILES. OUR VAN IS SUBJECT TO RECALL 17S15. WE HAVE HAD THE "TEMPORARY FIX," (THE DRIVELINE FLEXIBLE COUPLING REPLACED) ON OUR VAN TWO TIMES AT YORK'S FORD IN HOULTON, MAINE: JULY 21, 2017 (MILEAGE 28,066) AND AGAIN ON OCTOBER 11, 2017 (MILEAGE 32,787) BUT IT HAS NOT FIXED THE SEVERE DRIVELINE VIBRATION. THE VIBRATION IS WORST AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65-73 MPH), AND WHEN GOING UP A HILL OR WHEN ACCELERATING. IT IS SO LOUD THAT IT SHAKES THE WHOLE VAN, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO HEAR THE RADIO OR HAVE A CONVERSATION. THE SOUND IS A VERY LOW FREQUENCY HUM, LIKE PUTTING YOUR HEAD INSIDE A SUBWOOFER. I WORRY THAT THE VIBRATION IS ALSO DAMAGING OTHER COMPONENTS, SUCH AS THE OUTPUT SHAFT BEARINGS IN THE TRANSMISSION, AND POSSIBLY THE ENGINE. ON NOVEMBER 7, 2017 I TOOK THE VAN TO A FORD DEALER IN INDIANA TO SEE IF THEY COULD FIX THE VIBRATION PROBLEM. THEY DETERMINED THAT THE CARRIER BEARING HOLDING THE DRIVESHAFT WAS LOOSE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET FORD TO OKAY THE REPAIR. I HAVE STOPPED DRIVING THE VAN EXCEPT FOR ESSENTIAL TRAVEL BECAUSE OF THE VIBRATION PROBLEM. FROM WHAT I HAVE GATHERED READING THE FORD TRANSIT USA FORUM, A PERMANENT FIX, INCLUDING A NEW DRIVESHAFT, UNIVERSAL JOINT, AND TRANSMISSION OUTPUT YOKE, HAS BEEN INSTALLED ON MANY OF THE RECALLED VEHICLES, BUT FOR SOME REASON FORD WILL NOT DO IT ON MINE. CAN YOU HELP?
WE PURCHASED 14 FORD TRANSIT VANS FROM THE U.S. FOUR OF THE 14 ARE NOT IN DRIVING CONDITION NOW DUE TO A PROBLEM LOSING SPEED [MORE DETAILS FOR EACH VEHICLE ARE NEEDED]. THE FAULT IN ALL OF THEM SHOWS CODE P2111. THE VINS ARE: [XXX] BROKEN IN JAN/FEB 2017 WITH LESS THAN 4500KM; [XXX] BROKEN IN MARCH 2017 WITH LESS THAN 5200KM ; [XXX] BROKEN IN AUGUST 2017 WITH LESS THAN 3000KM ; [XXX] BROKEN IN NOVEMBER 2017 WITH LESS THAN 4600KM. AT THIS RATE, WE EXPECT THAT OUR ENTIRE FLEET OF LARGE VANS WHICH ARE FORD TRANSITS TO BE INOPERABLE. WE HAVE RECEIVED THE SERVICE FROM ONE OF LOCAL TRANSIT DEALERS [XXX] , BUT IT SEEMED THE PROBLEM IS NOT INCLUDED IN "RECALL NOTICE" FROM FORD . WE WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ALL ASSISTANCE IN REPAIRING OR REPLACING THESE VEHICLES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
SLIDING DOOR ALERT KEEPS GOING OFF. POSSIBLE SENSOR OR LATCH DEFECT. HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING OVER DIPS, BUMPS AND WHILE BRAKING. UNABLE TO READ DASH SYSTEM PANEL WHILE ALERT IS ON. POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUE, AS CANNOT SEE OTHER ALERTS WHILE THIS ONE IS ON, AS IT REMAINS ON THE ENTIRE TIME I'M DRIVING AND IS A DISTRACTION. POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON FUEL SYSTEM SENSOR ISSUES. AFTER PUTTING FUEL IN VEHICLE IT HAS TROUBLE RESTARTING, CAUSING ME TO FUEL VEHICLE WHILE STARTED TO REMEDY THIS. POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD, COULD CAUSE VEHICLE TO CATCH FIRE RESULTING IN EXPLOSION/DEATH.

I AM A NHTSA REGION 10 OFFICE EMPLOYEE. I RENTED A 2015 FORD TRANSIT VAN, LICENSE PLATE #[XXX], FROM ZIPCAR ON 7/25/17 FOR THE ENTIRE DAY FOR A WORK RELATED EVENT. A FELLOW NHTSA STAFF PERSON RAN A VIN CHECK ON THE VEHICLE BY PHONE AND DETERMINED THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL ON THE VAN. UNFORTUNATELY, I DID NOT WRITE DOWN THE VIN# OF THE SPECIFIC VEHICLE BUT WAS PROVIDED ASSISTANCE FROM NHTSA STAFF TO IDENTIFY THE # AS [XXX] (SEE THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT PROVIDE TO ME BY NHTSA STAFF PERSON, [XXX]). I THEN CONTACTED ZIPCAR AND PUT IN A REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE, SPENDING TIME ON THE PHONE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS, FIRST A PERSON APPARENTLY BASED IN MEXICO, THEN ANOTHER BASED IN BOSTON. THE LAST PERSON WOULD NOT PROVIDE ME THE NAME OR CONTACT INFORMATION FOR ANY "LOCAL FLEET TEAM" MANAGER THAT WOULD LIKELY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR/MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE IN SEATTLE. I DID SPEAK WITH [XXX] (BATCH #[XXX]; HE WOULD NOT PROVIDE ME HIS LAST NAME, BUT GAVE ME HIS BATCH #...AN EMPLOYEE ID#). I HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED BY ANY OTHER ZIPCAR REPRESENTATIVES SINCE. I AM CONCERNED THAT ON THE DATE I RENTED THE VEHICLE THERE WERE OPEN, UNMITIGATED RECALLS OF WHICH I WAS NOT MADE AWARE BY ZIPCAR. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

WE CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT CHAPMAN FORD WE PROVIDED THE VIN NUMBER OF OUR VEHICLE AND THE CAMPAIGN NUMBER AND THEY TOLD US THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. FOR THE CAMPAIGN WE WERE REFERRING TO, THEY TOLD US THE PART WOULD HAVE TO BE ORDERED WHICH WOULD TAKE 3 WEEKS. WE SUBSEQUENTLY CALLED ANOTHER DEALER WHO TOLD US THEY COULD DO THE TEMPORARY REPAIR THE NEXT DAY. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT CHAPMAN FORD WAS TRYING TO AVOID DOING THE TEMPORARY REPAIR. THE VEHICLE IS OVER 30K MILES AND ACCORDING TO THE RECALL SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN UNTIL THE TEMPORARY REPAIR IS DONE, HENCE THE URGENT NEED FOR THE TEMP REPAIR TO BE DONE TIMELY.
LOCAL FORD DEALER STILL DOES NOT HAVE PART REQUIRED FOR SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 17S15 REGARDING CRACKED FLEXIBLE DRIVEWAY COUPLING. THE SAFETY RECALL THAT WENT OUT IN JULY STATED THAT "PARTS FOR THE INTERIM REPAIR ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE" YET I HAVE BEEN TOLD ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS BY THE PELLETIER FORD SERVICE MANAGER THAT PARTS HAVE NOT ARRIVED.

I PURCHASED A 2015 FORD TRANSIT 350 XLT 15 PASSENGER VAN EXACTLY TWO WEEKS AGO. THE VAN HAS 30,000 MILES AND CAME WITH OEM CONTINENTAL 235/65 R16 VANCO FOUR SEASON TIRES. TWO DAYS AGO I NOTICED A VERY LARGE CHUNK OF TREAD MISSING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE. THIS PARTICULAR AREA IS 1 1/2 TO 1 3/4 INCH WIDE AND SO DEEP, I CAN SEE NYLON CORDS.
