AUTO HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALSO, HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF WHEN USING TURNING SINGLE. LIGHT SWITCH WAS REPLACED IN 2016 DUE TO RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 KIA K900. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AT NIGHT, THE HEADLAMPS WERE NOT ADEQUATELY ILLUMINATING THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER OBSERVING THE VEHICLE, THEY NOTICED THAT THE HEADLAMPS WERE FACING DOWNWARDS. THE CONTACT CONTACTED THE DEALER GERALD KIA OF NAPERVILLE (1661 AURORA AVE, NAPERVILLE, IL 60540, (630) 445-2542) WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE AUTO MODE FOR THE HEADLAMPS FAILED DUE TO THE MOTOR FAILING AND NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V210000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING) AND OPENED A CASE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 KIA K900. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS FLICKERED AND TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SEE THE ROAD; HOWEVER, THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED BACK ON INDEPENDENTLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE. THE CONTACT CALLED HENDRICK KIA OF CONCORD (7050 HENDRICK AUTO MALL PLAZA, CONCORD NC 28027, 888-710-3591) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,900.
THE LED PROGRESSIVE LIGHTING SYSTEM ON THIS VEHICLE SHINE ONLY 10 TO 12 FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS MAKES DRIVING DANGEROUS AT NIGHT. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. THEY ADJUST BUT IT NEVER GETS ANY BETTER. MY WIFE IS NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT. THE DEALER NEVER MAKES A REPAIR ORDER RATHER CALLS SOMEONE OUT TO ADJUST THE HLAMPS. HELP!
THE LED HEADLIGHTS, IN AUTO MODE, FLICKER AND THEN EVENTUALLY GO OUT WHILE DRIVING MAKING THIS AN INCREDIBLE SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS INTERMITTENT AND DIFFICULT TO REPLICATE DURING SERVICING. I'VE HAD IT IN TWICE WITH NO REPAIRS BECAUSE THEY CAN'T 'SEE THE ISSUE'. I NOW REFUSE TO DRIVE IN THE DARK.
WHEN NEW, THE CAR VIBRATED AT HIGHER SPEEDS (60+) AND THE DEALER REPLACED 3 OF THE FOUR NEW HANKOOK TIRES BECAUSE THEY WERE DEFECTIVE AT ABOUT 1,500 MILES ON THE CAR ODOMETER. AT ABOUT 22,000 MILES, THE CAR STARTED VIBRATING AGAIN. ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER, I TOOK THE CAR OVER TO DISCOUNT TIRES AND THEY POINTED OUT THE THE TREAD ON THE RIGHT/PASSENGER WAS SEPARATING, MAKING THIS 4 OUT OF 7 HANKOOK TIRES THAT HAVE BEEN PUT ON THIS CAR THAT ARE DEFECTIVE. SEARCHING 'KIA K900 VIBRATION' ON THE WEBSITE GENERATES NUMEROUS RESULTS OF OWNERS HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS RELATED TO HANKOOK TIRES. THESE HANKOOK TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE AND DANGEROUS, AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE SOLD UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. I'VE BEEN DRIVING ALMOST 45 YEARS AND NEVER HAD TREAD SEPARATION LIKE THIS, OR THIS MANY TIRE FAILURES.
BACK PORTION OF THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF COMPLETELY SHATTERED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EVEN IN USE. IT WAS PARKED IN THE BACK OF OUR DRIVEWAY ALONG WITH OUR OTHER VEHICLE. IT WAS FINE ONE DAY AND WAS FOUND COMPLETELY SHATTERED THE NEXT MORNING...GOOD THING IT WASN'T RAINING OR SNOWING. IT WAS NOT HIT BY ANYTHING. I HAVE GLASS INSURANCE BUT FEEL KIA SHOULD PAY FOR THIS, NOT MY INSURANCE COMPANY, ESPECIALLY IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN IN THE FUTURE!
THIS VEHICLE WILL STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF ACCELERATION WHEN PULLING OUT INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC . THE CAR HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE NEW, THE KIA REP HAS TOLD ME THIS IS NORMAL FOR THIS CAR AND THAT YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT EASY WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND YOU CAN NOT USE ACCESS ACCELERATION AND MUST GIVE THE CAR TIME FOR THE TRACTION CONTROL TO KICK IN .THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE .I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR AND WILL NOT LET MY FAMILY DRIVE IT OR BE IN THIS VEHICLE .I WAS NEVER WARNED OF THIS DEFECT BEFORE I LEASED THIS CAR AND THE MANUFACTURE SHOULD WARN PEOPLE BEFORE THE BUY IT. I WOULD HAVE NEVER GOT THIS CAR IF I KNEW OF THIS PROBLEM. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED OR HURT IF PEOPLE ARE NOT MADE AWARE OF THIS. YOUR HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 KIA K900. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS OR WHILE IDLING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE RESULTS WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000. UPDATED 01/27/17*LJ
THERE IS A FLAW IN NIGHT DRIVING WHERE THE ILLUMINATED INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REFLECTS ON THE FRONT WINDSHIELD GLASS IN THE DRIVER'S LINE OF VISION CREATING A DISTRACTING HAZARD. THE ONLY WAY TO ALLEVIATE THIS CONDITION IS TO COMPLETELY DIM THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TO A SETTING OF ONE WHICH MAKES THE CLUSTER TOO DIM TO READ. SO YOU HAVE A CHOICE: STARE AT A REFLECTION IN YOUR WINDSHIELD OR BE UNABLE TO SEE YOUR SPEEDOMETER.
AT SEPARATE TIMES, BOTH "ADAPTIVE" HEADLAMPS HAVE FAILED. AT SEPARATE TIMES, BOTH HEADLAMPS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS COULD BE A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURS, THE HEADLAMPS WILL BE POINTING IN OPPOSITE, AND AT LEAST HALF THE TIME, WRONG DIRECTION. YOU COULD TURN LEFT, THE HEADLAMP WILL POINT RIGHT AND THERE WILL BE MINIMAL LIGHT COVERAGE ON THE ROAD. YOU ALSO CAN NOT SEE "DOWN" THE ROAD WHEN THIS CONDITION EXISTS.
THE SCREEN DISPLAY WILL FREEZE AND GIVE AN ERROR MESSAGE. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND DISTRACTING WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE BECAUSE AFTER THE FREEZE THE SCREEN WILL GO BLACK FOR A PERIOD OF TIME, THEN THE SYSTEM WILL BOOT WITH THE "WELCOME" SCREEN, THEN IT WILL ASK YOU TO AGREE WITH THE TERMS WHICH REQUIRES A MANUAL DRIVER OPERATION. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AT RANDOM INTERVALS.
THE REAR GLASS HAS A GLARE ON IT. ANY HEADLIGHTS BEHIND YOU AND AIMED IN TO YOUR REAR GLASS ARE PICKED UP BY THE DEFROSTER LINES CREATING A DISTRACTING HAZARD. THIS CONDITION PRESENTS WHETHER THE GLASS IS STOCK OR HAS TINT ON IT APPLIED BY KIA. THE ATTACHED PHOTOS INCLUDED THE CONDITION WITH AND WITHOUT THE TINT. OVER A FOUR MONTH PROCESS, KIA HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE BUT REFUSED TO MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO FIX THE IT DESPITE THE VEHICLE BEING UNDER WARRANTY.
WHEN YOU HIT A BUMP OR A UNEVEN SURFACE THE CAR JUST DON'T LIKE IT,IN FACT THE CAR EVEN MOVE THE STEERING WELL ONE SIDE TO ANOTHER WITH A SHAKING FILING TEETH FEELS LIKE THE WEELLS ARE LOOSE OR SOMETHING,AT THE SAME TIME THE STEERING WELL MOVE GIVING YOU A FEELING THAT YOU MAY NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR,VERY DISAPPOINT IT WITH KIA.THEY NEED TO FIX THIS.I CALL AND THEY SAY IS NORMAL FOR THE K900 TO DRIVE LIKE THAT .REALLY KIA I THINK YOU ARE WRONG.TRY NOT TO HIT A BUMP OR A LITTLE HOLE IN THE ROAD BECAUSE YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CONTROL YOUR CAR OR GET INTO A CRASH,YOU NEVER KNOW .
HEADLIGHTS TURN OFF COMPLETELY WHEN TURN SIGNAL IS ACTIVATED - THEY ALSO FLICKER/FLASH WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT - VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE OCCURS WHILE DRIVING ONLY, AND ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING. THE HEADLIGHTS SWITCH IS IN THE AUTO MODE

IN DECEMBER, 2015, MY 6 MONTH OLD 2015 KIA K900 WITH NO MORE THAN 8,000 MILES REFUSED TO START. TWO AND HALF HOURS LATER, WITH TWO TOW TRUCKS ON THE SCENE, AIDED BY KIA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, THE CAR FINALLY RE-STARTED. LESS THAN A MONTH LATER ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 3RD, 2016 I LEFT THE DRIVEWAY HEADING WEST, AND ABOUT 4 HOUSES DOWN AT APPROX. 25 MILES PER HOUR THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO 'SHUT DOWN.' THERE WAS LOUD SCREECHING SOUND, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK, AND ALL THE ELECTRONICS WENT DEAD. THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE, AS THE STEERING, GAUGE CLUSTER, ELECTRONICS ALL SHUT DOWN. THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE ENGAGED OR THE CAR WENT INTO PARK, I'M NOT EVEN SURE, BUT THE CAR CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD THROWING TWO OF US FORWARD WITH THE SAFETY RESTRAINTS ENGAGING. KIA ROADSIDE CAME OUT AGAIN AND AFTER A WHILE, THEY STARTED THE CAR AGAIN, BUT THERE WERE NO ELECTRONICS. I RETURNED THE CAR HOME. A TOW TRUCK DRIVER ARRIVED AND TRIED TO START THE CAR AND IT 'HARD' STARTED, WITH NO ELECTRONICS. KIA'S HAD MY CAR SINCE JANUARY. KIA HAS DRIVEN THE CAR OVER 400 MILES, FOUND "NO CODES" BUT, DID REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I'VE LOST ALL FAITH IN THE CAR AND I BELIEVE IT IS A DANGER TO THE PUBLIC.
LIGHTS WENT OUT ALL OVER CAR AROUND 11:30 PM CAME BACK ON BLINKING,SCREEN GOES OUT,SOMETHING WRONG WITH RIGHT FRONT TIRE FEEL VIBRATION
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
ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT HAS COME ON FOR NO REASON, TWICE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, ON A DRY, FLAT ROAD, DRIVING FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES AT 45 MPH. THE RED AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON FOR SEVERAL MINUTES THEN WENT OFF. IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE PARKED WITH THE ENGINE ON. HAD BEEN PARKED FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND ALL THE SUDDEN THE AIR BAG LIGHT STARTS FLASHING; FLASHED FOR A COUPLE MINUTES THEN WENT OFF. WE HAVE NO IDEA IF THIS IS ONLY A LIGHT PROBLEM OR IF THE AIR BAGS OR NOT WORKING PROPERLY. PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR WERE REPORTED TO MANDY STRAUSS OF KIA USA WESTERN REGION ON JUNE 2, 2015 BUT AS OF JULY 20, 2015 KIA HAS MADE NO EFFORT TO FIX THE CAR UNDER WARRANTY OR PROVIDE ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION WHILE THIS PROBLEM IS RESOLVED.
