The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln MKC. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V331000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The contact stated that the rear driver's side door failed to open as needed. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that she would need to pay for the diagnostic test and repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
Cheap two piece lug nut design. The outer shell of the lug nut deforms to the point you can not remove the lug nut. If you get a flat tire you can possibly be stranded due to these defective lug nuts.
The fuel pump/sensor. My vehicle died (steering column locked as well) while in motion on a busy highway. I took it to the Ford dealership and they replaced the sensor. After I picked it up from the dealership, my car died again on the same highway only this time I was in the middle of turning into oncoming traffic. I could not start my vehicle for several minutes. On both occasions, there were no signs or indications of pimp failure. The check engine light came in after the car stalled and. died. This time the dealership installed the whole control unit, sender and pump ASY and gasket. I have copies of invoices and parts.
The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln MKC. The contact stated that while stopped at a red traffic light, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle each time after the stall. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the failure could not be diagnosed since there was no fault codes retrieved. The independent mechanic informed the contact of NHTSA campaign number: 15V005000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the Vin was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln MKC. The contact stated that the rear driver’s side and rear middle seat belts failed to latch properly when the two passengers attempted to latch the seat belts into the seat belt buckles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer inspected the vehicle and informed the contact that she would need to pay for the seat belts replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000.
All safety warning systems - blind spot, cross traffic, etc work through the vehicles FRONT DRIVER & PASSENGER speakers only . The MKC THX Certified system amplifier stops sending sound to the front speakers and drivers do nit get warnings causing significant safety risk.
WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE THE WRENCH LIGHT APPEARS AND ALSO THE ADVANCE AUTOTRAC WARNING. ALSO MY SIGNAL LIGHTS BLINK VERY FAST. THEY BOTH GO OFF FOR AWHILE AND THE SIGNAL LIGHTS BLINK SLOW AGAIN, BUT WILL REAPPEAR ONCE STARTING THE VEHICLE AGAIN. CAR SEEMS TO STALL WHEN THIS HAPPENS. DEALER SAYS THEY CAN'T FIND AND ISSUE AND BULBS SEEM TO WORK FINE.
I'VE BROUGHT MY CAR BACK NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, A PROBLEM THAT BEGAN WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH OR PURCHASE. I'VE ASKED FOR DOCUMENTATION OFF ALL THE 'REPAIRS' TO NO AVAIL. SOME OF THE WAYS THE PROBLEM PRESENTS ITS SELF INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING- SOON AFTER STARTING THE CAR & BEGINNING THE DRIVE IT COMPLETELY STALLS AND SHUTS OFF, IT COULD TAKE NUMEROUS TRIES BEFORE RESTART. OR OTHER TIMES WHILE DRIVING IT SUDDENLY SLOWS DOWN AND SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR, THIS HAPPENED AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART! I HAD TO PUSH IT TO THE ADJACENT GAS STATION AND WAIT ALMOST 2 HOURS FOR DEALERS REPAIR TO SEND A TOW TRUCK. THE OTHER WAY THIS ISSUE MANIFESTS ITSELF IS AFTER FILLING THE TANK WITH GAS. IT STARTS, SPUTTERS AND SHUTS OFF! THE LAST TIME I BROUGHT IT IN THEY REFUSED A RENTAL, TOOK ABOUT 6 WEEKS TO REPAIR. I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR A RENTAL. THEY FINALLY REIMBURSED ME BUT IT TOOK WEEKS AFTER THE 6 WEEKS OF SHELLING OUT WELL OVER $1,000

MY LINCOLN MKC 2015, IS USING TO MUCH GAS IS THERE SOMETHING CAN BE DONE, I DRIVE FROM FORT WAYNE, IN TO DETROIT, MI I USES 3/4 TANK OF GAS. I SHOULD ONLY USE 1/2 RANK OF GAS. PLEASE HELP
ON FEBRUARY 11, 2020 MY 2015 LINCOLN MKC HAD BEEN SITTING STATIONARY IN MY GARAGE FOR 26 HOURS WHEN THE ENGINE SPONTANEOUSLY CAUGHT FIRE. I OPENED MY GARAGE, SMOKE WAS POURING OUT AND THERE WERE FLAMES COMING OUT OF THE HOOD AT THE WINDSHIELD LINE. THE CAR HAD JUST TURNED 40,000MILES, WAS CERTIFIED PREOWNED, SERVICED AT LINCOLN DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. AFTER THE FIRE FIGHTERS LEFT, THE BATTERY CONTINUED TO SMOKE UNTIL A WIRE WAS DISENGAGED.
VEHICLE WON'T START DUE TO DISCHARGED BATTERY.
THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT REFLECT THE CORRECT SPEED. GENERALLY, THE SPEEDOMETER WILL SHOW A SPEED 5MPH FASTER THAN THE ACTUAL SPEED OF THE VEHICLE. IN MOTION, HIGHWAY OR CITY DRIVING.
WHEN THE CAR SIT IN THE SUN OR IN DIRECT HEAT TOO LONG, THE BACK-UP CAMERA WILL NOT WORK AND ON THE NAVIGATION SCREEN, IT WILL SAY CAMERA NOT WORKING, CONTACT DEALERSHIP. WHEN I PULL IN MY GARAGE AND OR THE TEMPERATURE OF THE CAR COOL DOWN, THEN THE CAMERA STARTS BACK WORKING. IT ONLY DO THIS IN THE SUMMER TIME. IT'S GOING ON A SEVERAL YEARS OF DOING THIS. THE MOST DAY THAT THIS HAPPENED WAS ON 5/20/19. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BACK IN 2017 AND THEY WANTED ME TO SHOW PROOF THAT DAY BUT IT DIDN'T HAPPEN THAT DAY. DEALERSHIP HAVE RECORD OF ME REPORTING THIS.
I AM DRIVING IN THE CAR AND THE CAR IS TURNED OFF, THE CAR IS SOMETIMES DRIVING AND THE CAR STOPS AND THE CAR IS SLOWED DOWN, THE TRANSMISSION IS THE FIFTH TIME I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AND IT RETURNS TO THE DAME PROBLEMI AM AFRAID OF CRASHING BECAUSE THE CAR STOP WITHOUT WANTING
ON 5/18/19, CAR WAS SITTING OUTSIDE ALL DAY. THE TEMPERATURE REACHED95 DEGREES THAT DAY. THAT NIGHT AS I WAS LEAVING, I DECIDED TO OPEN THE SUNROOF AND WHEN I HIT THE BUTTON, THE PANEL WOULD ONLY OPEN 1/2 INCH. I THOUGHT SOMETHING WAS BLOCKING IT SO I CLOSED IT BACK. WHEN I DID THAT, THE INSIDE SUNROOF PANEL MATERIAL STARTED WRINKLING UP. I PROCEEDED TO OPEN AGAIN AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I LEFT IT ALONE UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. I TRIED OPENING IT AGAIN AND THE NEXT TIME I HEARD SOMETHING SNAPPED. AS I WAS INVESTIGATING THE INSIDE PANEL, IT HAD RIPPED. IT LOOKED AS THOUGH THE SUN HAD MELTING THE PLASTIC AND AS IT COOLED, WHEN THE SUNROOF OPENED, IT RIPPED THE INSIDE PANEL COVER. NOW, THIS HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THERE NEED TO BE BETTER ANOTHER TYPE OF MATERIAL THAT'S NOT AFFECTED BY THE SUN AND ALSO A BETTER TINT TO PROTECT THE GLASS FROM GETTING TO HOT AND CAUSING TRAPPED HEAT TO MELT PLASTIC AND/OR ADHESIVE TO COME APART. THIS IS A HAZARD IF THE SUNROOF CAN'T OPEN IF FIRE, CRASH, OR SMOKE IS TRAPPED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. I HAVE A INFANT AND TWO DOGS THAT RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LINCOLN MKC. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GREAT LAKES FORD OF MUSKEGON (LOCATED AT 2469 E APPLE AVE, MUSKEGON, MI 49442, (231) 777-2750) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE OR DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE O2 (OXYGEN) SENSOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. SEVERAL OTHER UNKNOWN DEALERS ALSO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V006000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) OR 15V005000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2018 IT HAS BEEN TOWED TO THE DEALER TWICE AND I HAVE DRIVEN TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES. THE BATTERY CONTINUES TO GO DEAD AFTER I PARK AND LOCK THE VEHICLE IN MY GARAGE. I HAVE WENT INTO THE GARAGE AND THE VEHICLE LIGHTS WOULD COME ON WITHOUT THE KEY FOB. I HAVE HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED AND IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. MY CAR IS AT THE DEALER AS I WRITE THIS COMPLAINT. LINCOLN STATED THAT: THEY CHECKED FOR LIGHTS COMING ON COULD NOT VERIFY AT THIS TIME CHECK OASIS AND NO SYMPTOM FOR CONCERN LET SIT OVER WEEKEND AND STILL NO LIGHT CONFIRMATION. NO PROBLEM FOUND AT THIS TIME3/5/2019. 3/17/2019 VEHICLE RIGHT BACK AT THE DEALER SAME PROBLEM.
THIS HAS HAPPENED 2XS WITHIN THE LAST 4 WEEKS. CAR ONLY HAS 49,000 MILES. CAR STARTS TO SHAKE WHEN DRIVING SPEED OF 50 MILESHR APPOX. THEN CAR SHUTS OFF, NO BRAKES, AND CANNOT STEERING. DRIFTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. TRIED TO START..IT DID START UP AGAIN AFTR 5 MINUTES. HAD IT INTO 2 DEALERS(LINCOLN) AND COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM, NO COMPUTER ERRORS ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED. NOW CAR HAS BEEN IN ANOTHER DEALER GARAGE FOR 8 DAYS. CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. AFRAID TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAYS. NEED THIS ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. NEED HELP WITH THIS!!
MY VEHICLE HAS HAD 4 INSTANCES WHERE IT WILL NOT START AND VEHICLE NOTES THAT THE BATTERY IS LOW. THIS HAS LEFT ME STRANDED AND NEEDING A TOW OR JUMP. DEALERSHIP HAD BEEN UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE DRAW AND HAD REPLACED THE BATTERY BUT ISSUE HAS OCCURRED SINCE. I HAVE CONTACTED LINCOLN BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO ASSIST WITH GETTING THIS FIXED AS IT IS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE. THE CAR HAS FAILED TO START AT THE DEALERSHIP ONCE. A SEARCH ONLINE WILL SHOW THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND NO ONE HAS FOUND A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM.
SPONTANEOUS ACCELERATION WITHOUT OPERATOR ERROR OR PARTICIPATION WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ON AT THE TIME. THE VEHICLE JUST ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. ALSO, WINDSHIELD WIPERS INCREASED IN SPEED WITHOUT OPERATOR PARTICIPATION. EACH OCCURRENCE WAS UNRELATED WITH THE OTHER.
TAKATA RECALL
ON APRIL 14, 2017, AT 9:10 P.M., ON MY WAY HOME, I PULLED UP TO OUR TOWNHOME MAIL BOX CENTER, PUT MY CAR IN PARK, UNHOOKED MY SEAT BELT AND GOT OUT OF THE CAR IN ORDER TO GET MY MAIL. I LEFT MY CAR DOOR OPEN AS I WAS ONLY GOING TO GET THE MAIL AND GET BACK IN, AS I HAVE DONE THOUSANDS OF TIMES. RIGHT AFTER I GOT OUT OF THE CAR, I REALIZED THE CAR WAS ROLLING BACK. INSTINCT HAD ME RUNNING AFTER THE CAR TRYING TO HOLD ON TO THE DOOR IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET BACK INTO THE CAR AND PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I GOT AROUND THE DOOR BUT COULD NOT HOLD ON. THE DOOR KNOCKED ME BACKWARDS ONTO THE STREET AND THE CAR PASSENGER FRONT TIRE RAN OVER MY LEFT FOOT AND MY RIGHT THIGH. I HAD A SEVERE LACERATION ON THE BACK OF MY HEAD THAT REQUIRED 2 STAPLES. I ALSO HAD A BROKEN LEFT TOE AND A SEVERELY BRUISED FOOT AND ANKLE. MY RIGHT THIGH SWELLED TO AT LEAST DOUBLE ITS SIZE WITH BAD CONTUSIONS. KNEE BECAME VERY SWOLLEN, ESPECIALLY IN THE BACK ALSO WITH BAD CONTUSIONS. RESIDUAL EFFECTS ARE STILL IN EXISTENCE WITH PAIN IN MY LEG AND CONTINUED SWELLING. THANKFULLY, THE CAR VEERED TO THE LEFT AS IT ROLLED DOWN THE STREET AND HIT INTO A ROCK WALL IN THE COMPLEX. THEREFORE NO ONE ELSE WAS INJURED AND NO PARKED CARS WERE HIT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I LEASED IT ON MAY 3, 2018 AS I WAS TOO INJURED PREVIOUS TO THAT TIME TO GO OUT. THE SERVICE MANAGER WROTE UP THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE ACCIDENT AND SAID HE WOULD BE SUBMITTING IT TO THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY. THEY HELD THE CAR UNTIL JUNE 7, 2017 WHEN I WAS TOLD THAT FORD WAS DENYING MY CLAIM OF FAULT WITH THE CAR. SINCE IT WAS LEASED, I HAD NO RECOURSE EXCEPT TO HAVE THE CAR FIXED AND CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT. I WAS SCARED EVERY DAY I DROVE THAT CAR UNTIL I GOT RID OF IT FOR ANOTHER TYPE CAR.
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2015 LINCOLN MKC WITH 50,406 MILES WITH A BAD TRANSMISSION. THE CAR WOULD 'JERK' AS IT AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT INTO GEAR WHEN DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY OR ON A LOCAL ROAD. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM FOR ANY DRIVER.HAVING A 2015 MODEL CAR WITH 50,406 MILES HAVING A TRANSMISSION REBUILT, THE SAFETY OF THIS CAR NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LINCOLN MKC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MAJOR WORLD (43-40 NORTHERN BLVD, LONG ISLAND CITY, NY 11101, (866) 614-2884) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,900. *TT CONSUMER STATED AIR BAG LIGHT ON AND OFF. UPDATED 10/19/18*JB
MY LINCOLN IS EATING WAY TO MUCH GAS. I SEE THAT THEY HAD A RECALL ON THE PUMP FUEL AND I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IF THIS IS A PROBLEM. I CAN FILL UP MY TRUCK AND GO A COUPLE OF BLOCKS AND I HAVE TO FILL UP MY TRUCK WITHIN TWO DAYS.
GAS TANK WOULD SUCK IN AIR, BEGIN TO RUN VERY RUFF AND THEN STALL. WOULD HAVE TO OPEN THE GAS DOOR AND PUSH THE SEAL OPEN IN ORDER TO ALLOW AIR INTO THE TANK.
THE MANUAL LIFT GATE WILL NOT ALWAYS OPEN. WHEN IN DRIVE OR IN PARK WHILE TURNED OFF, THERE IS A SOUND COMING FROM THE LIFT GATE LIKE IT IS TRYING TO FUNCTION.
HATCH BACK WON'T OPEN WITH KEY DASH BUTTON OR MANUALLY. NOW CAR IS UNABLE TO START. WILL NOT ALLOW GEAR CHANGE. LIGHTS FLASH. INTERIOR LIGHTS DON'T COME ON WHEN DOOR IS OPENED. TOWING TO FORD DEALER. CAR WAS IN GARAGE AT STANDSTILL. LOCK RECALL PERFORMED 5DAYS AGO.
MY MKC WAS ONE OF THE FIRST MANUFACTURED. IT CAME WITH MICHELIN TIRES. AT 33,000 MILES I HAD TO REPLACE A TIRE DUE TO A NAIL IN THE SIDEWALL- IT TOOK THE DEALER 3 WEEKS TO FIND ONE. TODAY I WAS JUST TOLD TWO MORE TIRES NEED TO BE REPLACED ON THE CAR BUT THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE!1 UNBELIEVABLE! I HAVE A 2015 CAR THAT CAN'T BE DRIVEN BECAUSE THEY USED MICHELIN TIRES THAT CAN'T BE BOUGHT! LINCOLN SHOUL DBE MADE TO PAY FOR UPGRADED TIRES FOR ALL 4 WHEELS NOW PLEASE- I CAN'T WAIT FOR WEEKS TO GET A TIRE!
CONTINENTAL TIRES NUMBER 235/50 R18-97H M-S RADIAL TUBELESS FRONT TIRES ARE LOSING CHUNKS OF TIRE AND PEELING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TIRE. THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL TIRES FOR MY 2015 LINCLON MKC. MY CAR IS SERVICED EVERY 3-4 MONTHS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE HAD TIRES ROTATED A FEW MONTHS AGO. TOTAL MILEAGE ON VEHICLE TO DATE IS: 27,580.3 . THE TREAD IS STILL DEEP, BUT THE RUBBER IS CRACKED THROUGHOUT, PEELING, AND LOSING CHUNKS / COMING OFF. THIS WAS IDENTIFIED WHEN I HAD LOW TIRE PRESSURE FROM ROLLING OVER A SCREW. OTHERWISE, THE DAMAGE TO BOTH FRONT TIRES WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN FOUND UNTIL FURTHER TIRE DAMAGE, BLOWN TIRE, AND/OR INJURY WOULD HAVE OCCURRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LINCOLN MKC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 3-5 MPH IN TRAFFIC, ANOTHER VEHICLE STRUCK THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE HEAD AS IT CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW, AS WELL AS INJURIES TO THE LEFT SHOULDER, LUMBER STRAIN, LEFT KNEE AND LEG INJURIES, AND RIGHT AND LEFT WRIST STRAINS. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HER LEFT JAW WAS SWOLLEN AND SHE SUFFERED ONGOING HEADACHES. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE INJURIES TO THE OTHER PARTY INVOLVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN LOCAL LINCOLN DEALER IN CLEVELAND, OHIO WHICH WAS THEN TAKEN TO NICK MAYER COLLSION CENTER (2613 SCRANTON RD IN CLEVELAND, OHIO 44113 (216) 556-1222) FOR BODY REPAIRS AND DIAGNOSES FOR THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 13,900.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE COME VERY CLOSE TO GETTING INTO SERIOUS ACCIDENTS WITH MY 2015 LINCOLN MKC. THE VEHICLE HAS A MAJOR BLIND SPOT FROM FROM THE FRAME COWEL THAT LEADS DOWN FROM THE ROOF COVERING THE OUTER EDGE OF THE WINDSHIELD. INSIDE THE VEHICLE IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE ONCOMING TRAFFIC IF YOU'RE LOOKING LEFT. IF A MOTOR CYCLE, MOTOR SCOOTER OR BICYCLIST IS APPROACHING FROM YOUR RIGHT SIDE, YOU MAY NOT SEE HIM OR HER. I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, INTENDING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN. FOR SOME REASON I TOOK AN EXTRA SECOND TO STOP. I DID NOT SEE THE MOTOR SCOOTER AND HE WOULD HAVE T-BONED MY CAR IF I HAD JUST PULLED OUT ASSUMING THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC COMING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 (NA) LINCOLN MKC HYBRID. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE TIRE PRESSURE, SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC, AND SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE CONTACT MANEUVERED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. AFTER THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON THREE TIMES, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY WALDORF FORD IN 2015 UNDER A RECALL FOR THE POWER STEERING ISSUE BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE RECALL INFORMATION WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
I DROVE TO THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY 1000 FEET. I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE WITH THE EXPECTATION THAT IT WENT INTO PARK BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE OF THIS VEHICLE THAT I HAVE USED MANY TIMES WITHOUT ISSUE AND IT IS LISTED AS SUCH IN MY OWNER'S MANUAL. I STOOD THERE BESIDE THE VEHICLE TO ALLOW TWO CARS TO PASS ON THE HIGHWAY BEFORE WALKING ACROSS THE HIGHWAY TO CHECK MY MAIL. I COLLECTED MY MAIL AND TURNED AROUND TO CROSS THE HIGHWAY TO RETURN TO MY VEHICLE AND I SAW THE VEHICLE COMING ACROSS THE ROAD TOWARDS ME. I JUMPED OUT OF THE WAY OF THE VEHICLE JUST IN TIME BEFORE IT STRUCK MY MAILBOX. AS A RESULT THE FRONT GRILL IS DAMAGED. I FEEL FORTUNATE THAT I TURNED AROUND IN TIME TO GET OUT OF THE WAY BECAUSE I COULD HAVE BEEN HURT OR KILLED IF THE VEHICLE HAD STRUCK ME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LINCOLN MKC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE DOOR CHIME SOUNDED AND THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR OPENED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER AND, AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO CLOSE THE DOOR, THE CONTACT HAD TO USE A BUNGEE CORD TO SECURE THE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN HOME. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THAT ONLY THE REAR DOORS WERE INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LINCOLN MKC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING OUT OF THE DRIVE WAY, THE VEHICLE LOST STEERING POWER. THE STEERING ASSIST FAULT AND THE HIIL START ASSIST SERVICE REQUEST WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 16,000. UPDATED 04/19/17 LJ
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LINCOLN MKC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD THAT WERE APPROXIMATELY 4 INCHES LONG CAUSING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG TO BE EXPOSED. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER AND THEY SUGGESTED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DUE TO THE COST OF THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE REPAIRS WERE DECLINED SUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE CRACKS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000. UPDATED 03/07/17*LJ *CN

WE PURCHASED A 2015 MKC ON MARCH 31ST, 2016 NEW. WE WERE DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH ON APRIL 10TH, 2016 AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS. WE WERE ABLE TO MOVE THE CAR OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SO THAT TRAFFIC COULD GO AROUND US BUT THE SITUATION WAS VERY DANGEROUS. OUR CAR WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE DIAGNOSTIC RAN ON THE CAR SAID THE FUEL PUMP HAD AN ISSUE. WE GOOGLED OUR ISSUE AND FOUND THAT A RECALL EXIST FOR 2015 MKCS FOR FUEL PUMPS. OUR CARS VIN IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALL BE WE CLEARLY SUFFERED THE SAME ISSUE. OUR CAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE RECALL LIST AND THE CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SOLD TO US WITHOUT REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP. THE RECALL IS #14S30.
HOURS AFTER I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED 2015 LINCOLN MKC WITH APPROXIMATELY 19K MILES THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON (FRIDAY). I WAS TOLD THE CAR HAD A PERFECT CARFAX. I ALSO NOTICED THE AIR VENT TO THE BACK SEAT DIDN'T SEEM TO WORK WELL. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS THEY RE-OPENED AND WAS TOLD TO BRING THE CAR IN MONDAY). ON MONDAY MORNING, AS I TURNED AT APPROX 10MPH INTO A PARKING LOT, HALFWAY THROUGH THE TURN I COMPLETELY LOST THE ABILITY TO STEER CAUSING THE CAR TO RUN STRAIGHT INTO A CURB. WHEN I SAY LOSE STEERING, IT WAS UNLIKE ANYTHING I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. AS I TURNED THE WHEEL, THE CAR CEASED TO RESPOND. I GOT OUT TO WALK AROUND THE CAR AND THERE WAS NO ICE OR BLACK ICE, AND IT WAS NOT SLIPPERY TO ME. THOUGH IT FELT LIKE MINUTES IN MY HEAD, IT HAD TO HAVE BEEN A MATTER OF NO MORE THAN 1-3 SECONDS. I'VE BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 15 YEARS AND HAVE A PERFECT DRIVING RECORD. THANKFULLY MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT IN THE CAR AND I WAS TURNING OFF A SIDE ROAD AT A SLOW SPEED OR ELSE I WOULDN'T BE ALIVE TO WRITE THIS. THE DEALERSHIP TOWED THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE. I WAS CLEARLY TERRIFIED AND SHAKEN UP OVER THE INCIDENT. THE USED CAR MANAGER STARTED OFF AS INCREDIBLY SYMPATHETIC AND OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS BEGAN SPEAKING DOWN TO ME, SAYING THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR, THAT THEY RAN EVERY TEST AND THE CAR IS FINE REGARDLESS OF WHAT I EXPERIENCED. SO NOW, MY OPTION IS TO KEEP THE CAR OR TURN IT IN AND LOSE THOUSANDS. I ASKED FOR COPIES DIAGNOSTIC REPORTS AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NONE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY CAR FOR 2 WEEKS NOW. I LOOKED UP OTHER RECALLS AND ASKED IF MAYBE THE CAR STALLED AND I WAS JUST TOO SHAKEN UP TO REALIZE- NO RESPONSE I HAD SUCH WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE WITH MY FIRST LINCOLN, I DECIDED BUY A SECOND, BUT AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE AND POOR PROTOCOL, I CAN'T SAY THAT I WOULD PURCHASE ANOTHER. THAT IS, IF I EVEN SURVIVE THIS ONE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LINCOLN MKC. TWO WEEKS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY WAS FAULTY. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,000.
BATTER LOST ITS CHARGE (4 TIMES)
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LINCOLN MKC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE CHECK BATTERY LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. ON FEBRUARY 6, 2015, THE FAILURE RECURRED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LINCOLN MKC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I LIVE IN THE MIDWEST AND IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE AND I WAS DRIVING HOME WITH MY BRAND NEW STATE OF THE ART LINCOLN. WHEN I WAS HEADING HOME MY CAR INDICATED LOW BATTERY, WHICH I ASSUMED WOULD CHARGE AS I CONTINUED TO DRIVE. NEXT THING I KNOW, EVERYTHING WAS TURNING OFF (ALL INTERNAL DISPLAYS, HEADLIGHTS, WIPERS, STEERING) DUE TO CONSERVING BATTERY WHILE I WAS ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE IN A BLIZZARD. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE, ON THE INTERSTATE IN A BLIZZARD AT 60 MPH. I FINALLY GOT OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND IT WENT INTO PARK. THE DEALER CALLED AND STATED IT WAS A BAD ALTERNATOR. GREAT, MY ISSUE IS THE BATTERY VOLTAGE IS SO LOW THAT THE COMBINATION WITH TEMP AND ALTERNATOR EVERYTHING SHUT OFF IN SUCH A QUICK MODE IT GAVE ME NO TIME TO SAFELY EXIT OFF THE ROAD. THE CAR IS NOT DESIGNED TO SUPPORT THIS SITUATION AND I HAVE THE COLD CLIMATE PACKAGE, THIS IS WHY WE ARE PAYING A HIGH PRICE FOR ENGINEERS TO DO THEIR JOB AND UNDERSTAND HOW THE SYSTEMS ACT TOGETHER. HOW IS THE GOVERNMENT AND MANUFACTURE ALLOWING THIS SITUATION TO HAPPEN. MY LIFE AND BEING A MOTHER TO THREE KIDS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN A SMALL COST REDUCTION.
WHILE DRIVING AT 5MPH, THE IGNITION BUTTON WAS ACCIDENTALLY PUSHED IN. WHEN THIS HAPPENED, THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF, THE VEHICLE ROLLED FOR A SECOND AND THEN THE CAR CAME TO A HALT AS IF I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES. THE IGNITION BUTTON IS LOCATED NEXT TO THE COMPUTER SCREEN AND THE PASSENGER HAD ACCIDENTALLY PUSHED IT IN WHEN HE WAS CHANGING THE RADIO STATION ON THE COMPUTER SCREEN. *TR
I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE BUTTON STYLE GEARS. TWICE NOW, MY THUMB ACCIDENTALLY DEPRESSED THE N BUTTON AND THE ENGINE START/STOP BUTTON. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO COAST BOTH TIMES AND I HAD TO THINK FAST TO GET THE VEHICLE BACK INTO DRIVE. FORTUNATELY, I WAS NOT TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND NO ONE WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO HIT ME. THE REASON FOR THIS, IS THAT WHEN USING THE SCREEN ON THE DASHBOARD, IT'S NORMAL TO USE YOUR THUMB TO BALANCE YOUR HAND, WHILE YOUR INDEX FINGER DEPRESSES OPTIONS ON THE SCREEN. THE THUMB NATURALLY GOES TO WHERE THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTONS ARE. I VISITED THE DEALERSHIP TWICE ON THIS ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND IT WAS THE WAY THE CAR WAS DESIGNED. IT IS SOMETHING I HAD HAVE TO GET USED TO, THEY SAID. THEY ALSO SAID A FEW PEOPLE COMPLAINED TO THEM ABOUT THIS. THEY SAID THAT CARS ARE DESIGNED TO TURN OFF WHILE IN DRIVE FOR SAFETY REASONS. IF THIS IS TRUE, THEN WHY WOULD LINCOLN PUT THE "ENGINE START/STOP " BUTTON SO CLOSE TO WHERE IT CAN BE ACCIDENTALLY DEPRESSED. I QUESTIONED THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE ENGINE START/STOP? BUTTON WAS DEPRESSED AND MY WORST FEARS WERE CONFIRMED. KEY SAFETY FEATURES, SUCH AS AIR BAGS, AMONGST OTHER FEATURES ARE TURNED OFF, WHEN THE VEHICLES ENGINE IS OFF. SO IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE I AM DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, NOT ONLY WOULD I LIKELY GET HIT FROM BEHIND, BUT I WOULD BE COMPLETELY VULNERABLE WITHOUT AIR BAGS. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED ME TO CALL LINCOLN CUSTOMER SERVICE WHICH I DID ON 8/11/14. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT AND ALSO TOLD THEM I WOULD FOLLOW UP WITH A LETTER. NO ONE TO DATE HAS CONTACTED ME FROM LINCOLN.
