The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA250. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, she heard an abnormal gunshot-like sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact then heard glass cracking and realized that the panoramic sunroof had shattered without incident. The contact was able to drive home despite the failure. The contact then contacted the dealer and was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and informed her that a claim would be filed. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
I noticed for the last several weeks my car sometimes hesitates when I start the engine. I hadn't looked into it and wasn't sure what it could be because I changed my battery less than 2 years ago. I hoped it was a fluke or do to the increasing cold weather. Also the car occasionally shudders and hesitates when I increase and decrease speed and one or two the radio shut off on it's own. This morning, the automatic windshield wipers came on even though it was not raining and my windshield was not wet. This lasted for a few minutes before it stopped on it own. Then I drove about a mile and was at a stop light. When I eventually tried to accelerate, I wasn't able to and it was then that I noticed my car had slipped to neutral on it's own. I was on a busy road when this happened. The car also restarted on its own and I was able to shift to drive and continue driving. Thinking this was a fluke or perhaps a battery issue, I continued to drive for a few more minutes and again I found myself at a stop light and again, the car slipped into neutral. I quickly put my emergency lights on and restarted the car. The radio came but on, but I noticed the A/C did not come back on. I didn't bother turning it back on. I was able to drive 23 miles to my destination with no other incident. The majority of the 23 mile drive, after the car had stopped 2 times, was highway driving, so I did not need to stop much.
Incident on 10/18/21, while coasting into a parking space, my car suddenly accelerated and smashed into a concrete wall. Damage was extensive and car was determined a loss. Service was maintained throughout ownership. There was no warning, no lights, messages, no ABS brakes. Airbag did not deploy. Extensive seatbelt bruising. I'm upset car was a loss but I would never feel safe driving it. It was as if someone else had taken over control and I was powerless to alter the situation.

My collision assist keeps deactivating while driving. This causes my car to go into neutral. However there is not read of an issue with my vehicle per dealership

The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, she heard wind entering the vehicle and became aware that the sunroof had started to detach from the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure however, the contact was informed that the part was not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the recall and provided the same information as the dealer. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
I checked the Carfax report for my car and there is a minor damage reported on 01/27/2020. It s not correct. My car never had any damage. Never. And there`s nothing there showing who did this report so I understand that it is a mistake and should be fixed please. Thank you.
THE VEHICLE SLIPS INTO NEUTRAL AND SAYS 4 MATIC NOT AVAILABLE. I HAVE TO COAST TO A STOP AND THEN SHUTOFF THE VEHICLE, TURN IT OFF AND THEN RESTART IT. ALSO THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING ALERTS WHEN I PASS UNDERNEATH A LARGE METAL FREEWAY SIGNAGE.
THE VEHICLE AFTER STARTING WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR FROM PARK. THE MESSAGE ON THE DASH READ "SERVICE REQUIRED DO NOT SHIFT GEARS VISIT DEALER". THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE PUT IN GEAR TO DRIVE OR NEUTRAL ONLY PARK..
MY CONCERN IS BRAKE AND ROTORS. I REPLACED BRAKES A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY VEHICLE IN 2020. MY DEALERSHIP WAS NOT HELPFUL ABOUT EXPERIENCE. )N 6/15/20 WHILE DRIVING TO A DOCTORS APPOINTMENT ON THE HIGHWAY, MY ENGINE SUDDENLY OVERHEATED AND IT WARNED ME TO PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY. THE VEHICLE HAD 37,800 MILES ON IT. ON DIAGNOSIS, IT WAS FOUND THAT A VALVE IN THE WATER PUMP HAD SEIZED FROM A COOLANT LEAK, PREVENTING IT FROM OPENING AND CIRCULATING COOLANT INTO THE ENGINE. UNFORTUNATELY, THE CAR WAS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY.,

THIS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING DOWN A 4 LANE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT AND DAY. 2) COLLISION PREVENTION OF LIGHT DISPLAYED & WON'T GO OFF. (SEE ATTACHED). GOOGLE INDICATES THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG HAS AN ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 94,000.
IT APPEARS THAT WHEN THE TURBOCHARGER IS ENGAGED, COOLANT LEAVING THE TURBOCHARGER IS SPRAYING FROM WHERE A PRESUMABLY NOW MISSING CLAMP WOULD OTHERWISE FORM A TIGHT FIT AROUND THE TUBING, WHICH IS NORMALLY HOUSED BENEATH HEAT SHIELDING. THE HEAT SHIELDING HAS BEEN DISPLACED BY THE HIGH PRESSURE PRODUCED BY THE HOT LIQUID. THE LIQUID IS SO HOT LEAVING THE TURBOCHARGER THAT AS IT SPRAYS OUT ONTO THE SURROUNDING AREAS IT HAS MELTED THE AIR INTAKE SYSTEM.
RECEIVED LETTER 2/5/19 REGARDING TAKATA PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG RECALL. AS OF 9/20/19, MERCEDES PROVIDED OCTOBER 2020 AS AN ETA. AS OF 9/28/20, MERCEDES CAN GIVE ME NO ESTIMATED DATES FOR REPLACEMENT. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING A KNOWN UNSAFE VEHICLE FOR 20 MONTHS WITH NO END IN SIGHT.
I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM MERCEDES-BENZ IN FEBRUARY 2019 FOR THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG (SEE ATTACHED COPY). IT STATES THAT "A PASSENGER-SIDE INFLATOR EXPLOSION DURING DEPLOYMENT COULD RESULT IN SHARP METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING THE FRONT PASSENGER OR OTHER OCCUPANTS, POSSIBLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH." OVER THE LAST 20 MONTHS, I HAVE TRIED AT LEAST SIX TIMES TO HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED BY MY DEALER MERCEDES-BENZ OF GREENWICH, 261 WEST PUTNAM AVE, GREENWICH, CT 06830. EACH TIME THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THIS PART.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN RANCHO BLVD IN LAS VEGAS UNDER 15 MPH WINDS ON TUES AND THE SPOILER COVER FLEW OFF/SPOILER
THE COMMAND UNIT REBOOTS EVERY 2 MINUTES WITH THE CAR ON OR OFF. IT KILLS THE BATTERY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE BATTERY DISCHARGES. WE HAVE SEEN DOZENS OF CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS ONLINE. MERCEDES CHARGED 157.00 AND WANTS ANOTHER 500--600 FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE CAR HAS 52,000 MILES AND JUST WENT OUT OF WARRANTY.
WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, ENGINE OFF, ALL DOORS CLOSED, AND AFTER LOCKING THE DOOR USING THE SMART KEY LOCKING BUTTON OR THE KEYLESS LOCKING FUNCTION (TOUCHING THE DOOR HANDLE), ALL FOUR DOORS APPEAR TO BE LOCK (CAN VISIBLY SEE LOCK MOVE DOWN TO LOCK POSITION). HOWEVER, WITHOUT THE SMART KEY NEARBY, THE REAR DOORS CAN STILL BE OPEN.

BEFORE I HAD IT TURNED OFF, IT USED TO BREAK SUDDENLY AND MAKE A LOUD NOISE AND FLASH LIGHTS WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE STREET FOR NO REASON. IT WAS A DISTRACTION THAT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. VEHICLE HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY MAINTAINED ONLY BY MERCEDES BENZ AND EVERY RECOMMENDED SERVICE HAD BEEN COMPLETED TIMELY BY ONLY MERCEDES BENZ. 1 MONTH OUT OF WARRANTY AND THE CAR WAS INSPECTED BY MERCEDES 30 DAYS PRIOR AND GIVEN A CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH. NO WARNING LIGHTS EVER CAME ON PRIOR TO OR DURING THE INCIDENT. THIS COMPLAINT IS VERY SIMILAR TO ANOTHER ON YOUR WEBSITE ALSO INVOLVING THE SAME PARTS. VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED AT A MAJOR 4 WAY INTERSECTION. WHEN I TRIED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN A HORRIBLE LOUD GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE JUST SEIZED. WHEN I TRIED TO GO SHIFT INTO PARK, THE BRAKES FAILED TO WORK, STEERING WAS INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT. THE CAR HAD TO BE PUSHED OFF THE HIGHWAY AND TOWED TO MERCEDES. DIAGNOSES WAS FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BROKEN AND 2 REAR COIL SPRINGS BROKEN SIMULTANEOUSLY. I HAVE HAD MANY VEHICLES NEVER HAD I HEARD OF A DRIVE SHAFT BREAKING AT 55,000 AND CERTAINLY NEVER SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH REAR COIL SPRINGS. THE CAR IS DRIVEN UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES, NO TOWING NO EXCESSIVE WEIGHT, ETC. MERCEDES WAS CONTACTED, THE OFFERED A 5% DISCOUNT AS A "GOOD WILL" GESTURE BUT REFUSED TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND ADVISED THIS WAS NOT PART OF A PRIOR RECALL. THEY FURTHER STATED WHEN THE CAR WAS CHECKED 30 DAYS PRIOR THE DRIVE SHAFT AND COIL SPRINGS ARE NOT DISCOVER-ABLE.

WAS DIVING ON A LOCAL INTERSTATE AT POSTED SPEED LEVEL AND THE FRONT HALF OF THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF SHATTERED WITHOUT ANY VISIBLE/OBVIOUS REASON (NO IMPACT, PRIOR DAMAGE, ROAD CONDITIONS, ETC.). TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT, WEATHER WAS SUNNY (HIGH 80'S), ROAD CONDITIONS NORMAL/GOOD.

SUNROOF SHADE HAS UN-GLUED ITSELF IN A MATTER OF TIME THAT WOULD NOT SEEM TO BE CONSISTENT WITH MERCEDES BENZ QUALITY SPEC.
SUNROOF IS FAULTY IN THIS MODEL. MERCEDES HAVE RECALLED EARLIER MODELS DUE TO SIMILAR ISSUE. THE HAVE RECALLED 750K CARS TODAY DUE TO THIS ISSUE AND WE ARE SEEING SIMILAR PROBLEMS IN OUR 2015 C CLASS. THIS ISSUE IS VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS AS THE SUNROOF COULD POTENTIALLY FLY OFF MYSELF AND MY WIFE WERE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN WE SUDDENLY HEARD THE NOISE. WHEN WE STOPPED BY TO CHECK THE ISSUE, IT SEEMED LIKE THE SUNROOF WAS GETTING DETACHED. WHEN WE TRIED TO CLOSE IT, IT MADE A BIG BANG NOISE AS IF SOMETHING HAS NOT BEEN PLACED CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,747. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

I WAS DRIVING TO MEET A FRIEND FOR LUNCH. I CAME UP UPON A STOP LIGHT THAT WAS ALREADY RED AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN THE THIRD CAR IN LINE. I CAME TO WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A STOP. I WAS ABOUT A CAR LENGTH OR MORE BEHIND THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. NEXT THING I KNOW, I HEAR A LOUD BANG AS MY CAR HAD ACCELERATED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THAT CAR, IN TURN, HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF THEM. I WAS VERY CONFUSED. I RECEIVED A TRAFFIC TICKET FOR UNCONTROLLED SPEED. THE POLICEMAN THOUGHT I WAS I WAS CRAZY WHEN I SAID THAT I HAD COME TO A STOP. THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE, SO I STILL WENT TO LUNCH WITH MY FRIEND. NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER WITH PARKING OR DRIVING THE CAR TO THE RESTAURANT, WHICH WAS ABOUT 1 MILE AWAY. AFTER LUNCH, I THEN NEEDED TO RUN AN ERRAND BEFORE I WENT HOME. I DROVE ABOUT 2 BLOCKS AWAY FROM THE RESTAURANT AND PULLED INTO A SHOPPING CENTER. I THEN SLOWLY PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT BETWEEN TWO OTHER CARS. AS MY CAR HIT THE CURB, IT THEN WENT OVER THE CURB, ONTO THE SIDEWALK AND SLAMMED INTO THE CONCRETE WALL OF ONE OF THE SHOPS. I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME, VERY SHAKEN, AND RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET. EVERYTHING I FOUND INDICATED IT WAS SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION (SUA). I TOLD MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND ALSO CALLED MERCEDES BENZ USA. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE MERCEDES COLLISION REPAIR SHOP. MERCEDES DID A RECORDED CONVERSATION AND SAID NOT TO HAVE THE CAR REPAIRED AND THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT. THEY WERE DEFENSIVE WHEN I MENTION SUA, BUT MY MAT IS VELCROED ON AND IT HAPPENED TWICE IN ONE DAY. AFTER THE SECOND COLLISION, I SAW A MESSAGE ON MY DASH THAT SAID : ?COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS INOPERATIVE". MY AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. I CHECKED AT THE MERCEDES COLLISION CENTER TODAY AND WAS TOLD MERCEDES REMOVED A BLACK RECORDING BOX FROM MY CAR. I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING BACK AS OF YET. I HAVE MERCEDES BENZ GLA 250 YEAR 2015 AND THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ALREADY APPEARING IN MY DASH BOARD . I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN THIS CAR FROM HOME TO WORK WHICH IS 10-20 MILES AWAY. THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE WATER PUMP, MB HAS SINCE REPLACED THE PRODUCT WITH A NEW ONE BECAUSE OF ISSUES WITH THE OLD STYLE NOT WORKING. MY CAR IS JUST OVER THE WARRANTY AND HAS ON 10,270 MILES ON IT AND IS NOW EXPERIENCING THE OVERHEATING ISSUE (WARRANTY ENDED DECEMBER 2018). THE CAR SOME TIME DOES NOT DETECT KEY LESS REMOTE DURING DRIVING SAYING "KEY NOT DETECTED" EVEN AFTER REPLACING BATTERY AND VISITED DEALER (HOUSE OF IMPORT) FOR SOFTWARE UPDATE. IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL OCCASION CAR FAIL TO RESTART WAITING ON THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE CAR IT KEPT SAYING KEY NOT DETECTED (THIS CAK HAS AUTO START/STOP FEATURE) THAT MAKE IT VERY DANGEROUS POSSIBLE CAN BE REAR ENDED BY OTHER CAR.

I HAD FILE COMPLAINT ABOUT INTERMITTENT "COLLISION ASSIST " CONDITION TO THE DEALER (HOUSE OF IMPORT, BUANA PARK, CA), THE SERVICE ADVISER SAID IT IS NORMAL FOR THE COLLISION ASSIST ACTING UP SOME TIME. I BELIEVE THERE ARE SOME SOFTWARE GREMLIN OR SOME OTHER ECU ISSUE NEED TO BE ADDRESS. IT S A SAFETY CONCERN TO KEEP DRIVING THIS CAN W/O ANY SOLUTION, I DID CONTACTED MBZ USA, THEY OFFER NO HELP NOR SOLUTION AT ALL.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2015 MB GLA250 4MATIC [XXX] AND SUDDENLY 5 WARNING ALERTS POPPED ON THE DISPLAY AND THE RESPECTIVE SIGNALS TURNED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE 5 WARNINGS WERE: 4MATIC CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE, INOPERATIVE ABS, PARKING BREAK, COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS INOPERATIVE AND CHECK ENGINE. IN ADDITION, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME HEAVY AT THE SAME TIME. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED IT ON AGAIN AND AT THAT TIME ONLY THE CHECK ENGINE SIGNAL WAS ON. AS SOON AS I ACCELERATED THE CAR AND THE CAR CHANGED TO 2ND, ALL THE ORIGINAL LIGHTS AND WARNING TURNED ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME HEAVY. I AM SHARING THIS INFORMATION BECAUSE I'VE READ MULTIPLE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ONLINE. I STARTED THE CAR AND I GOT A MESSAGE STATING THE RIGHT FRONT AIR BAG MALFUNCTIONED. THERE IS A SHORT. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR REPAIR, THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS ON THIS MODEL FOR THE AIR BAG, MINE IS NOT INCLUDED. THE AIR BAG HAS SHORTED OUT. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE.

THE DOOR OPEN WARNING SIGN ON THE DASH DID NOT COME ON UNTIL AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 100 FEET. A BACKSEAT PASSENGER FELL OUT OF THE CAR AS IT STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD. THE DRIVER ASSUMED THE BACK DOOR WAS CLOSED SECURELY WHEN HE STARTED FORWARD BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT.

THE CURRENT CAR ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON MARCH 16, 2016, WITHIN 1 WEEK POST REPAIR FROM PARK PLACE BODYWERKS, AFTER I STOPPED AT A STOPPED LIGHT I HIT THE LIGHT POLE, RESULTING IN FRONT END DAMAGE AND NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. I WAS EXTREMELY OFFENDED AND INFORMED HIM "I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO OPEN THE HOOD..." AS OF TODAY, 6/13/16, GEICO HAS PAID PARK PLACE BODYWERKS ON BEHALF OF MY POLICY $28,831.30 FOR A VEHICLE I HAVE ONLY OWNED SINCE NOVEMBER 2015, DRIVEN LESS THAN 2 MONTHS, BOUGHT CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED FROM PARK PLACE BODYWERKS WITH LESS THAN 8000 MILES, CONTAINED THE WRONG TRANSMISSION FLUID FROM THE DEALERSHIP, HAD TWO LOW SPEED ACCIDENTS EACH WITH NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, A HOSPITALIZATION FOR THE OWNER AND NEVER HAD A DRIVING HISTORY LIKE THIS OF MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS.

TRANSMISSION VIOLENTLY ENGAGE IN REVERSE: SO FAR I HAVE ONLY EXPERIENCED THIS (TWICE) DURING COLD-STARTS. STARTED THE ENGINE, SHIFT CAR IN TO REVERSE GEAR, DISENGAGE PARKING BREAK. I PURCHASED A NEW GLA250 IN AUGUST 2015. A FEW DAYS AFTER THE PURCHASE I NOTICED THAT THE CAR HAD A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW RESULTING IN A SAFETY ISSUE. DEPENDING ON THE POSITION OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT THE LEFT SIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR CANNOT BE ADJUSTED TO ELIMINATE THE LARGE BLIND SPOT. TALLER DRIVERS WHO REQUIRE THAT THE SEAT BE POSITIONED FURTHER BACK CANNOT ADJUST THE LEFT SIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR TO ELIMINATE THE BLIND SPOT. I HAVE CONTACTED MBUSA AND THEY WILL NOT ADMIT THAT THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW OR SAFETY ISSUE. THE MBUSA REPRESENTATIVE WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SPEAK WITH ANYONE KNOWLEDGEABLE OF MIRROR OPERATION OR DESIGN. SHE TOLD ME THAT NOT ALL PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO ELIMINATE THE BLIND SPOT ON ALL CARS. THE SAFETY ISSUE RESULTING FROM THE INABILITY TO ELIMINATE THE BLIND SPOT IS EXASPERATED BY THE LARGE 'B' PILLAR WHICH GREATLY RESTRICTS PERIPHERAL VISION. MY THEORY, AND IT IS JUST A THEORY, IS THAT MERCEDES BENZ DESIGNED THE GLA (AND ALSO THE CLA) TO EUROPEAN MARKET MIRROR STANDARDS, ANTICIPATING THAT THE USA WOULD COME IN LINE BEFORE THE GLA WAS SOLD IN THE USA MARKET. IN EUROPE, CONVEX MIRRORS ARE ALLOWED FOR BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS AND FOR THE MOST PART ONLY CONVEX MIRRORS ARE USED.. THE NHTSA HAS BEEN CONSIDERING, BUT WITHHOLDING APPROVAL OF CONVEX LEFT SIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS FOR AT LEAST THE LAST 5 YEARS. GENERAL MOTORS AND MERCEDES BENZ HAVE BEEN THE PRIMARY PETITIONER'S FOR THE APPROVAL. MERCEDES BENZ ANTICIPATING THE APPROVAL, DESIGNED THE GLA FOR CONVEX OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS. SINCE CONVEX LEFT SIDE MIRRORS WERE NOT APPROVED IN THE USA, MERCEDES BENZ INSTALLED A PLANAR MIRROR IN THE SAME LEFT SIDE MIRROR ENCLOSURE AND FRAME FOR USA MARKET CARS. THE PLANAR HAS A REDUCED FIELD OF VIEW AND RSULTS IN THE BLIND SPOT SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE HAD MAY CLOSE CALLS ON MULTIILANE HIGH SPEED HIGHWAYS.
THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE GAS PEDAL ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. I AM CONSTANTLY FEELING THE SLIGHT TOUCH OF THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN STEPPING ON THE GAS. I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE CARS AND SUV'S IN THE PAST AND I CANNOT EVERY RECALL TOUCHING THE BRAKE WHEN GASSING. I AM VERY CONSCIOUS OF THE PROXIMITY OF THE 2 PEDALS AND TRY TO NOT TOUCH THE BRAKE. GAS CAP DOOR DOES NOT UNLOCK/OPEN INTERMITTENTLY. UNFORTUNATELY, IT'S HAPPENED AS MY LOW GAS WARNING LIGHT IS ON. THIS MORNING IT HAPPENED AGAIN,............TOOK ME ABOUT 20 MINS OF TRYING TO OPEN THE LID (SOMEWHAT LIKE A PUSH SPRING-LOADED TYPE FUNCTION) AND WHEN I GAVE UP AND PUT CAR INTO REVERSE IT OPENED WHILE IN MOTION. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I NEED GAS AND IT DOESN'T OPEN?

I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW AND WHEN DRIVING IT I DETECTED A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD WITH THE POSITIONS OF THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDALS AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP ARE TOO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. FOR EXAMPLE IF YOUR ARE WEARING MEN'S TENNIS SHOES THEIR IS A HAZARD OF TOUCHING BOTH THE BRAKE AND GAS WHEN YOU WANT TO APPLY THE BRAKE YOU ALSO APPLY THE GAS. SIMPLY BECAUSE THE SHOES ARE TOO WIDE. THE DIMENSIONS ARE: THE BRAKE PEDAL IS 5" X 3" AND THE GAS PEDAL IS 2" WIDE AND 6" LONG. THE SEPARATION BETWEEN THE TWO PEDALS IS 2 INCHES. THE GAS PEDAL IS 1 INCH FROM THE CENTER WALL ON THE RIGHT AND THE BRAKE PEDAL IS 10 INCHES FROM THE LEFT WALL. I DON'T IF THESE TOLERANCES ARE ACCEPTABLE ONLY DOT WOULD KNOW.
