PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY 2019. TWO YEARS LATER IN MAY 2021, I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A TURN AND WHEN IT WAS TIME TO ACCELERATE OUT OF THE TURN, THE CAR FELT LIKE IT LOST POWER AND EVEN THOUGH I WAS PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR SEEMED TO BE STUCK AND HESITATING. IT WOULDN'T GO OVER 5MPH. BROUGHT INTO CARMAX WHERE I PURCHASED IT FROM, BUT BECAUSE THERE WERE NO LIGHTS ON THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM AND THE DIAGNOSTIC DIDN'T PICK UP ANY CODES. TWO DAYS LATER THE CAR DID THIS AGAIN AND THIS TIME IT LITERALLY DIED AS WELL IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY STREET. THIS TIME IS RATTLED AND SHOOK WHEN IT DIED. CARMAX SAID TO BRING IT IN TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. NISSAN TRIED TO GET ME TO PAY FOR A NEW ENGINE!! SAID THERE WAS SLUDGE ON THE OIL CAP AND THAT WAS AN INDICATION THAT WE NEVER CHANGED THE OIL. WE CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 5,000MILES! CARMAX WARRANTY WOULDN'T APPROVE A NEW ENGINE BASED ON 1 MECHANICS OPINIONS. I KEPT INSISTING IT FELT LIKE A TRANSMISSION ISSUE, BUT THEY CAN ONLY INVESTIGATE IF THEY HAVE A DIRECTION VIA IDIOT LITE OR CODE FROM THE DIAGNOSTIC. SO IF THEY DID THE INSPECTION AND THERE WAS AN ISSUE, THEN IT WOULD BE COVERED BY THE EXT. WARRANTY. BUT IF THEY DIDN'T FIND AN ISSUE, I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR INSPECTION AND LABOR $300+. THEY REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR. CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING GREAT FOR THE LAST 9 MONTHS UNTIL THIS WEEK! THE CAR IS DOING IT AGAIN. SEVERAL TIMES IN A MATTER OF 3 DAYS THE CAR HAS LITERALLY FELT LIKE IT LOSES ITS POWER AND WONT GO OVER 20MPH NO MATTER HOW FAR YOU PUSH ON THE GAS PEDAL. SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A SLOW DOWN, STOP, TURN OR AN INCLINE. YOU CAN LITERALLY FEEL THE LOSS IN POWER. BROUGHT IT TO A DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALER, WHO SAID RIGHT AWAY IT SOUNDS LIKE THE CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUE. I AM DEVASTATED. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS VEHICLE. I AM PRAYING THAT CARMAX'S EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERS THIS AND THAT IT FIXES THE PROBLEM. CONCERNED WHEN I READ OTHERS HAD IT FIXED BUT STILL HAVING THE ISSUE!
cvt transmission is the worse my vehicle stopped on me on the highway coming from miami to orlando no warning nothing just stopped, the vehicle goes faster than it actually says with my children the only direction it could go into is reverse late at night it was so scary. I know if I could change my vehicle I would for a vehicle without CVT Transmission it doesn't shift like normal which is shifting at each short line it races to 3 to 4 then goes down putting more where and tear than norm
I bought my 2015 Pathfinder new in 2016. Love the vehicle but I am disappointed in how quickly it started to "fall apart". I had a Altima with over 200 000 miles without a single part breaking on it. I bought my Pathfinder based on the premise that all Nissan products are as good as my Altima. I have only 52000 miles on my Pathfinder now and I have a defective cooling fan making a terrible noise. There is no support for my Pathfinder any longer from Nissan and the cost of replacing the fan is well over $1400. I expected more from Nissan and my new vehicle for next year will be based on my experience with Nissan. I am not sure I will be driving a Nissan next year. Nissan is cheeping out on product that they use for their vehicles now, it's too bad, they used to have very well built products.
We bought this Nissan Pathfinder SV model with 4-wheel drive brand new in 2015. This model supposed to have had an upgraded Continuously Variable transmission (CVT). It is meticulously maintained. In 2020 at 70,000 miles the CVT oil was changed by the Nissan dealer. The dealer said that there was nothing abnormal with the car and it was doing well. About year later at around 80,000 miles, car started to sporadically shudder and loose power when cruising at a low speed and when trying to accelerate or go up a hill with slow speeds. There was no check engine light, or any other indicators that there was a problem. We took it to the Nissan dealer and the dealer ran diagnostics. They charged us $129.95 for an hour of troubleshooting and give us a report that the car has a code P17F1 - the CVT Judder. This indicates that there is a problem with the CVT steel belt or the CVT valve body. According to Nissan these problems can not be repaired. The only fix is transmission replacement at the cost of $6,042.76. This car is few months after the warranty expired. We are another family victimized by Nissan who knows that they have problems with their CVT and they keep selling bad vehicles.
CVT Transmission Internal Failure Judder Code P17FO Cost to replace $5000 Broken Radiator Fan cost to replace $938 Total repairs required $6281. Car located at Canon Nissan Dealer. Another repair shop indicated they are seeing failed CVT transmissions on many 2015 Pathfinders and Nissan models which appears to be a manufacturers defect. No warning lights. started naking noises week or two ago. indicated the fan was dangerous.
Vehicle started hesitation between 20 and 30 mph. Took to Nissan of Wood River and paid for diagnostic test and came back with code to replace transmission. Vehicle could have broke down on highway. Took to transmission shop, they verified and replaced transmission at 127k miles. There were never any warning lights or messages that appeared.. cost over $4500.00 for replacement. Nissan is aware of the CVT transmission problems and should recall.
We bought our car from Newton Nissan south in 2019 it’s a 2015 and has a CTV transmission well now the CTV transmission will not switch into any other gears it jerks and shakes bucks etc I have read that this is a on going issues with this type of transmission well because the in-service date being 2015 the warranty does not cover the car even thought we didn’t purchase it will 2019 I’m trying to see what can be done about this because it’s not a uncommon issue for this type of transmission
On 8-16-21, while driving at highway speed, the sunroof over the driver/passenger area in the vehicle spontaneously exploded. No evidence of any item hitting it was located. No vehicles or underpasses were near the vehicle when this occurred. From attached photographs, it is clear the glass pushed up from the explosion, not downward as if something impacted it.
Car stuffers at low speeds and looses power when shifting from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 at times.
AS YOU ARE DRIVING THE CAR LOOSES POWER, IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING, TURNING CORNERS , GOING UP HILLS HAVE TO PUMP THE GAS TO MAKE IT GO ALSO HAVE TO PUT THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR GOING UP HILL AND AT TIMES ON STRAIGHT ROAD.THE DEALER SCANNED IT WAS THE CVT TRANSMISSION. WE REPLACED IT AND STILL HAVING THE PROBLEM, NISSAN IS AWARE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH NISSAN TRANSMISSIONS HOPEFULLY YOU CAN LOOK INTO THIS IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD ON THE ROAD, HOPEFULLY SOMEONE ISN'T HURT OR KILLED OVER THIS PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION $5000 COST TO US AND THE PROBLEM STILL IS NOT FIXED, I HAVE DOCUMENTS TO SHOW WHAT THEY REPLACED BUT DO NOT HAVE ANYWAY TO GET THESE TO YOU,IF YOU HAVE A FAX NUMBER WE CAN FAX THEM TO YOU. WOULD APPRECIATE ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO HELP, THANK YOU. [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE, SHE HEARD AN ABNORMAL SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE POWER STEERING UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED JEFF WYLER NISSAN OF CINCINNATI (8680 COLERAIN AVE, CINCINNATI, OH 45251, (513)385-1400) AND MADE THE DEALER AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,000.
THE BOLT HOLDING THE SEAT IN PLACE ON THE DRIVES SIDE BROKE LEAVING THE SEAT ABLE TO SHIFT A COUPLE OF DEGREES. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT IT JUST BROKE OFF AS I BREAKED. IT WAS NOT A HARD BREAK JUST STANDARD STOP AND GO. THE RESULT WAS THAT I LEANDER FORWARD A BIT. AS A DRIVER OF A MOVING VEHICLE THIS WAS NOT GOOD
FOR OVER 6 MONTHS MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN SPUTTERING OFF AND ON. JUST RECENTLY, WHEN CRANKING IT UP, IT WOULD BLOW OUT WHITE SMOKE AND SPUTTER EVEN WORSE. WE BOUGHT IT IN MARCH 2020 KNOWING IT WAS SPUTTERING BUT THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED IT. NOW IT'S WITH NISSAN WHERE IT'S BEEN FOR ALMOST 2 WEEKS. THEY'RE STATING THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE HAS TO BE REPLACED. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THESE VEHICLES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR THESE ISSUES. I'VE ALSO FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THESE PARTICULAR YEAR AND MAKE/ MODEL VEHICLES HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. IF THIS REALLY IS AN ISSUE, IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!
THERE WAS A RECALL FOR A HIGH PITCH SOUND FROM THE RADIATOR. WELL MY CAR IS DOING THIS ISSUE WHERE THE HEAT IS ON AND IT SOUNDS HORRIBLE FROM THAT AREA. COULD IT NOT OF BEEN REPAIRED LIKE IT STATS? [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
ELECTRICAL ENGINE COOLING FAN FAILURE ASSEMBLY. LOUD GRINDING NOISE ON DRIVER SIDE FAN WHICH IS AN ASSEMBLY OF TWO FANS IN ONE UNIT. WIDELY AVAILABLE INFORMATION ON WEB POINTS TO WHEEL BEARING FAILURE INSIDE THE FAN.
DRIVER SIDE VISOR KEEP FALLING DOWN WHILE DRIVING
THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED STALLING ON THE HIGHWAY AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND STUCK AT THE SAME SPEED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES WHERE THE CAR WOULD STALL AND THE ACCELERATION WOULD NOT WORK ON LOCAL ROADS AS WELL AS THE INTERSTATE THUS CONSIDERABLY SLOWING THE SPEED OF THE TRAFFIC UPON GETTING IT INSPECTED AT THE DEALERSHIP, THEY FOUND THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WAS FAULTY.
I JUST PURCHASED THIS SUV USED WITH 84000 MILE WITHIN 24 HR THE CAR STARTS TO DRIVE LIKE I AM RUNNING OVER SPEED BUMP LIKE IT'S NOT PULLING OR SOMETHING KIND OF HARD TO EXPLAIN THE GAUGES BOUNCE BACK AND FORTH WHEN IT HAPPENS IT'S TRYING TO PICK UP SPEED BUT STALLING IT'S CLEARLY THE CVT ISSUE IT HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AND JUST RIDING THROUGH TOWN IT FELT LIKE IT WAS LOSING POWER NOT WANTING TO THE SAME SPEED I WAS AT
WE WERE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH WHEN THE HOOD OPENED UP AND HIT THE WINDSHIELD. THE SAFETY LATCH DID NOT ENGAGE. IT BENT UP THE HOOD, CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD AND DENTED THE ROOF. THE HOOD WAS DOWN AND LATCHED WHEN WE LEFT. I KNOW NISSAN HAD RECALLS FOR 2013 AND 14. I CALLED NISSAN BUT HAVE NOT HAD A RESPONSE AS OF THIS WRITTING
VERY LOUD PLASTIC RATTLE WHEN CLIMATE CONTROL IS TURNED ON AND PLASTIC FAN AT THE ENGINE SIDE OF THE RADIATOR STARTS SPINNING.
GOOD DAY. SINCE THE 1ST DAY OF PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE I WAS EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION LIKE HESITATION, JERKING / SHUDDERING / SHAKING AND ABNORMAL WHINING NOISE WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS. I WAS NOT AWARE ABOUT NISSAN'S MAJOR CVT ISSUES UNTIL RECENTLY. VEHICLE'S BRAKING IS AFFECTED BECAUSE OF THIS ABNORMAL TRANSMISSION'S OPERATION AS THE VEHICLE DOES NOT IMMEDIATELY STOP AS NEEDED OR REQUESTED INSTEAD OFTEN SLIPPING OCCURS WHEN DOWNSHIFTING TO LOWER GEARS. NISSAN SERVICE CENTER WAS VISITED ONCE ABOUT A YEAR AGO OR LESS. I WAS TOLD THAT THE SOFTWARE FOR TRANSMISSION WAS SOMEHOW MISSING ON THE VEHICLE, WITHOUT EXPLAINING HOW CAN A VEHICLE BE MANUFACTURED WITHOUT TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE. AFTER INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE, THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO PIN POINT WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE. I WAS CHARGED ABOUT $140 WITHOUT BEING PROVIDED A CLEAR DIAGNOSE, BUT WAS TOLD THAT MOST LIKELY THE CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. CONTROL VALVE BODY WAS REPLACED SINCE THEN, HOWEVER VEHICLE DRIVES THE SAME EXACT WAY. PLEASE, ADVISE HOW CAN GET ASSISTANCE FROM.
THE ENGINE COOLING FAN PART NUMBER 21481-3JA2E HAS FAILED TWICE IN THIS VEHICLE. FIRST TIME AT 50,529 MILES AND AGAIN AT 106,370
MY CAR HAS LESS THAN 28000 MILES AND I HAD TO HAVE A NEW TRANSMISSION.
WAS IN ACCIDENT MOVING ABOUT 10 MILES PER HOUR AND SLOWING AS APPROACHING LIGHT ON A LOCAL CITY STREET. CAR TRUED TO PASS ILLEGALLY ON LEFT. I MOVED RIGHT TO AVOID AND HIT CAR IN FRONT OF ME AT VERY SLOW SPEED. NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO FRINT END. DRIVER AIRBAG OPENED IN A PARTIALLY DEFKATED MANNER. SHOULD NOT EVEN HAVE OPENED . ESPECIALLY INCORRECTLY
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS (AT LEAST 6 - TWICE WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF EACH OTHER), WHEN TURNING AFTER SLOWING DOWN OR BEING AT A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR SEEMS TO LOSE POWER. IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE UNLESS YOUR FOOT IS TAKEN OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED DOWN AGAIN. IT A A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED. AN ACCIDENT IS BOUND TO OCCUR. THE CAR DEALER CAN'T ISOLATE THE ISSUE. THEIR RECOMMENDATION IS TO REPLACE THE ABS MODULE WHICH THEY THINK MIGHT FIX THE PROBLEM.. THE COST IS $2100 FOR THE PART ALONE TO REPAIR WHAT THEY HOPE WILL FIX IT. THIS SHOULD ABSOLUTELY BE A RECALL.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN; I HOPE THAT THIS EMAIL DOESN'T FALL UNDER DEAF EARS AND SOMEONE CAN REACH OUT AND ASSIST ME WITH MY VEHICLE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND NEEDS YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHO HAS INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTORY PROBLEM. I HAVE THREE LOVELY KIDS THAT DEPEND ON THEIR MOTHER TO DRIVE THEM AROUND. AS A LOYAL NISSAN OWNER, THE BRAND HISTORY AND QUALITY IS WHY I HAVE BEEN WITH YOU FOR YEARS AND THE REASON I INVESTED IN THE PURCHASE OF YOUR VEHICLE (BRAND NEW). MY ENTIRE FAMILY HAS ALWAYS BEEN NISSAN LOYAL CUSTOMERS FOR YEARS AND THIS HAS ERODED OUR CONCERNS IN THE QUALITY AND BRAND. MY FAMILY AND I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS POOR QUALITY ON PREVIOUS VEHICLES THAT WE PURCHASED IN THE PAST SO THIS IS WHY I COME TO YOU NOW THAT THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO ASSIST US. I HOPE THIS LAST EFFORT TO REACH OUT TO YOU AND ADDRESS MY SAFETY CONCERNS. WE EXPECT THAT YOU ARE AS LOYAL TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AS YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE LOYAL TO YOU WHEN THERE IS AN ISSUE. MY VEHICLE SEEMS TO SHUDDERS (JERKS AND STUTTERS) DURING ACCELERATION OR DRIVING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND WITHOUT WARNING AND FOR NO APPARENT REASON. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTORY ISSUE/DEFECT AND I NEEDED TO CONTACT YOU. I ATTACHED A COPY OF THE DEALERSHIP INSPECTION. I REVIEWED THE US NHTSA WEBSITE AND NOTICED SEVERAL SIMILAR ISSUES RELATED TO MY MODEL FROM VARIOUS CUSTOMERS SEEM TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE REVIEW AND INFORMED ME WHAT COURSE OF ACTION I NEED TO PROCEED. WE WAIT FOR YOUR RESPONSE AND HOPE TO SEE THIS MATTER RESOLVED.
THE COOLING FAN BEGAN TO RATTLE, ALMOST COMING OFF INTO THE RADIATOR. THEN THE CONDENSER WENT OUT FOR THE A/C. BOTH PARTS WERE REDESIGNED BY NISSAN, WHICH ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM.
THE COOLING FAN OR SOMETHING MAKES A LOUD NOISE WHENEVER THE AIR IS TURNED ON WHENEVER IT'S SITTING OR DRIVING
UNREPAIRED SAFETY RECALLS REPORTED BY NHTSA
NOTICED THAT A LOUD CLACKING/CLUNKING NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE HOOD. NOISE SEEMED TO ONLY BE APPARENT WHEN A/C IS TURNED ON. IT SEEMS THAT THE COOLING FAN IS DEFECTIVE. *TR
I HAVE BOUGHT A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER FROM THE DEALER AND CURRENTLY HAS 44,507 MILES ON IT AND THE RADIATOR FAN STARTED MAKING CLANKING SOUND ITS VERY LOUD. NOW I HAVE TO GET THIS FIXED BUT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THEIR ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ONLINE WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME VEHICLE JUST SEARCH IT ONLINE AND YOU WILL FIND IT. I GUESS THIS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE NISSAN PATHFINDERS AND THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. *TR
NOTICED THAT A LOUD CLACKING/CLUNKING NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE HOOD WHEN I PULLED INTO GARAGE. NOISE SEEMED TO ONLY BE APPARENT WHEN A/C TURNED ON. BROUGHT CAR TO DEALER AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE COOLING FAN WAS DEFECTIVE. SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM THAT NISSAN REFUSES TO ADDRESS. THE NISSAN PATHFINDER NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND HAVE THE COOLING SYSTEMS REPLACED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AT START-UP THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE COULD BE STARTED WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRIORITY NISSAN (14840 STONECROFT CENTER CT, CHANTILLY, VA 20151), WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V380000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000.
AT RANDOM TIMES, WHEN THE REAR, POWER, LIFT GATE IS OPENED, IT REACHES THE POINT OF BEING FULLY OPENED, AND THEN CLOSES ON IT'S OWN. THIS CREATES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE IF YOU ARE REACHING INTO THE REAR CARGO AREA, THE LIFT GATE COMES DOWN ON YOUR HEAD, NECK, OR BACK. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 2015 BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE BY A DEALER BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS RANDOM. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED. THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY REASON FOR THIS DEFECT. UPON DOING AN INTERNET SEARCH, THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED IN VARIOUS FORUMS BY MULTIPLE OTHER PARTIES, BEGINNING AROUND 2014. THE FIRST TIME I WAS HIT BY THE LIFT GATE WHICH CLOSED ON IT'S OWN WAS IN MAY 2020
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED, INDICATING THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SYSTEM WAS TURNED OFF WITH A THE PASSENGER SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V681000 (AIR BAGS), AT CASTRUCCI'S OF DAYTON LOCATED AT 3013 MALL PARK DR, DAYTON, OH 45459. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE FROM FAN ASSEMBLY AS A/C IS PUT ON. NOISE GOES AWAY AS CLIMATE CONTROL IS TURNED OFF. READING MULTIPLE FORUM THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM ON NISSAN PATHFINDER (2013-2017). OEM PART COST $513 AND REPLACEMENT AT DEALER FOR VEHICLES THAT ARE OUT OF WARRANTY COST $1000 OR MORE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS BY THE MANUFACTURER TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. REPLACING FAN ASSEMBLY IS NOT TRIVIAL FOR CONSUMERS. *TR
VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHT, STOP SIGN, SWITCHING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE INTERMITTENTLY. THIS HAPPENS WHEN IT WANTS TO. THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WAS REPLACED A COUPLE WEEKS AGO WHEN THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOTICED TO NOT SHUT OFF AND VEHICLE WOULD TURN ON WITHOUT PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. SEEMED TO FIX THE SITUATION BUT NOW AGAIN HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. BRINGING CAR BACK TO NISSAN DEALER FOR REPAIR. FOUND THAT YEARS PRIOR THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL BUT NOT FOR THE 2015. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC. CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE UNTIL BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED OR LETTING OFF THE GAS PEDAL, THEN REENGAGING. THIS IS IN CITY OR STOPPED THEN ACCELERATING TO RAMP TO GET ONTO THE HIGHWAY. BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHICH IS ALSO HAZARDOUS WHEN OTHERS WOULDN'T KNOW WHEN I'M ACTUALLY STOPPING. THE ACCELERATION ISSUE SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN STOPPED THEN ACCELERATING. THE BRAKE LIGHTS SEEM TO STAY ON WHEN THEY WANT TO STICK. THE BRAKE LIGHT IS HARD TO TURN OFF. PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN CAR IS OFF A FEW TIMES HELPED AFTER 3 TRIES. HARD TO KNOW IF BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON CONSTANTLY IN THE DAY BUT WHEN IT'S DARKER OUT ABLE TO NOTICE MORE. *TR
AFTER USING BRAKES EITHER AT A STOP LIGHT OR WHILE DRIVING, WHEN I REAPPLY THE GAS PEDAL NOTHING HAPPENS. THE RPMS STAY AT IDLE AND THE VEHICLE BARELY MOVES. PROBLEM INTERMITTENT AND UNPREDICTABLE. IT APPEARS THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHEN THIS IS HAPPENING. I HAVE EVEN PARKED THE CAR AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON. HAS HAPPENED WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE ONTO A HIGHWAY. VERY DANGEROUS! I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL RATTLING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LYNNES NISSAN CITY (318 BLOOMFIELD AVE, BLOOMFIELD, NJ 07003), WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE COOLING FAN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,400.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A TURN THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO NOTIFY THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
THE VEHICLE SHAKES, JERKS AND SHUDDERS DURING ACCELERATION AT LOW SPEEDS I.E. 20-40 MPH. IT FEELS LIKE IT STALLS AND THEN GOES AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED IN TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY AND ON THE FREEWAY ON RAMP, IN A ROUNDABOUT AND JUST TURNING OR GOING THROUGH A LIGHT. AFTER SOME RESEARCH IT APPEARS IT IS THE CVT TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE ALSO HAS A VERY LOUD AC BLOWER INSIDE. IT SOUNDS LIKE A JET ENGINE WHEN THE FAN IS TURNED HIGHER.
RADIATOR / COOLANT FAN. FAN MAKES LOUD, CARD IN BIKE TIRE SPOKES LIKE NOISE, AS IF SOMETHINGS CLIPPING THE FAN. PASSENGER SIDE FAN CLEARLY WOBBLES. APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE ON MANY VEHICLES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH THE HOOD BECAME UNLATCHED, OPENED SMASHED INTO THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. DURING THE INCIDENT BOTH THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE BODY FENDERS WERE DAMAGED. THE LOCAL DEALER MANSFIELD MOTOR GROUP (1493 PARK AVE WEST, MANSFIELD OH) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,800.
LOAD CLUNKING BEHIND RADIATOR ON PASSENGER (RH) SIDE. FAULT TREE ANALYSIS REVEALED ISSUE WITH THE RADIATOR FAN BLADE ASSY. FAN BLADE MECHANICAL STRUCTURE/BEARING FAILURE
THIS VEHICLE JERKS AND STUTTERS AT LOW SPEEDS, LIKE THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND ALSO DOESN'T ALWAYS SHIFT INTO THE GEAR IT SHOULD BE IN. I CAN ALSO FEEL THAT THE CAR SEEMS FAINTLY JITTERY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, EVEN ON NEW PAVEMENT. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND THE 2015 PATHFINDERS HAVE A CVT TRANSMISSION LIKE THE 2013-2014 MODELS THAT WERE, APPARENTLY, RECALLED THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS AND CONCERNS FOR THIS MODEL YEAR AS WELL, I WONDER WHY NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN TO RESOLVE THIS CONSISTENT DEFECT.
WHENEVER I TURNED ON THE A/C OR HEATER, THERE WAS A STRANGE NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I NOTICED IT WHEN I WAS STATIONARY AT A STOP LIGHT. I TURNED OFF THE A/C WHICH THE NOISE WENT AWAY. I TOOK IT TO FIRESTONE TO GET IT CHECKED OUT, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE COOLANT FAN AND SHROUD WAS GOING BAD; THEREFORE, IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $1,100 TO REPLACE. I WAS TOLD THAT IF IT KEPT KICKING ON THAT IT COULD EVENTUALLY BREAK OFF AND HIT THE RADIATOR WHICH WOULD DO MORE DAMAGE. I CALLED DEALERSHIP CLOSE TO WHERE I WORK, AND ASKED ABOUT IT. I WAS INFORMED THAT HE REPLACED MORE THAN A COUPLE OF THEM THIS PAST YEAR, AND TOLD ME HE COULD TAKE CARE OF IT FOR APPROXIMATELY $900. AFTER GETTING HOME, I DID SOME RESEARCH WHICH SEEMS THAT IT HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN PATHFINDERS MADE BETWEEN 2013-2017. IT SEEMS NISSAN IS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM; HOWEVER, NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS. TODAY, I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS ABOUT THIS ISSUE WHICH SHE SUGGESTED I FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE NHTSA. AGAIN, IT SEEMS NISSAN IS WELL AWARE OF THE ISSUE; HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOT TAKING THE STEPS TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION. IT'S COSTING CONSUMERS ADDITIONAL MONEY FOR THEIR MISTAKE. I'VE ATTACHED DOCUMENTATION THAT I HAD IT REPLACED. ALSO, I ATTACHED JUST ONE OF THE WEBSITES THAT I CAME ACROSS THAT ADDRESSES MY CONCERN.
RADIATOR FAN MOTOR, SEEMS TO BE COMMON PROBLEM. CAN HEAR BEARINGS RATTLING IN THE FAN MOTOR.
MY 2015, IS AT 54K MILES AND IT STARTING MAKE NOISE AND HAD IT CHECKED IT'S THE COOLING SYSTEM. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. MY FRIEND HAS A 2017 AND SHE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN.
THE VEHICLE STOPS ACCELERATING WHILE DRIVING. NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU PRESS THE GAS IS DOESN'T GO. WE HAVE FOUND OUT THAT WE MUST PRESS THE BRAKE DOWN NEARLY ALL THE WAY AND THEN PRESS THE GAS. THIS IS DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IN A BIG CITY. THERE IS NO PATTERN IT DOES IT WHILE GETTING ON/OFF EXITS AND WHILE DRIVING ON RESIDENTIAL ROADS AS WELL.
RADIATOR FAN (RIGHT SIDE) NO LONGER SPINNING SMOOTHLY, CREATING LOUD NOISE. NOISE BEGAN SUDDENLY AT 4.5 YEARS OF AGE (65K MILES), AND WAS NOTICED DURING CITY DRIVING AND WHILE STOPPED (ENGINE RUNNING). REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF "FAN MOTOR ASSEMBLY" TO CORRECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND LOST POWER. BOMMARITO NISSAN HAZELWOOD (661 DUNN RD, HAZELWOOD, MO 63042, (314) 731-2228) DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, WHICH WOULD COST OVER $5,000. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED A PARTIAL REPAIR TO REPLACE THE VALVE BODY AND A PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION FOR ONLY $500. THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED IN JUNE OF 2019. THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER, BUT THEY FOUND NO FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000. *DT
THE VEHICLE MAKES A LOT OF NOISE WHEN THE AC OR HEAT IS TURNED ON. SEEMS TO ORIGINATE FROM THE COOLING FANS. WHEN THE AC OR HEAT IS TURNED OFF THE SOUND GOES OFF TOO. IT'S VERY LOUD SEEMS LIKE THE FANS ARE GOING OFF. MAKES THE NOISE WHETHER MOVING OR STILL AS LONG AS THE AC OR HEAT IS ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS AND CONTINUED DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE STOP LAMP SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PASSPORT NISSAN OF ALEXANDRIA (LOCATED AT 150 S PICKETT ST, ALEXANDRIA, VA 22304, (703) 823-9000), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
WHEN THE AC OR HEAT IS TURNED ON THE CAR STARTS TO SHAKE AND OR VIBRATE. THE FRONT END OF THE CAR SOUNDS VERY LOUD LIKE A LAWNMOWER IS JUST RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. WHEN YOU OPEN UP THE HOOD YOU CAN SEE THAT THE COOLING FAN IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE IS RATTLING WHEN THE AC OR THE HEAT IS TURNED OFF BUT THE FAN ENGAGES TO COOL THE ENGINE IT MAKE THE SAME SOUND. CAR IS AT 68K MILES REPAIR FOR COOLING FAN IS VERY COSTLY AND APPARENTLY COMMON ON THE PATHFINDERS
2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER WAS PURCHASE TWO MONTHS AGO WITH ONLY 48569 MILES IT'S STARTED MAKING A LOUD TICKING NOISE WHEN AC AND HEAT IS ON. TURN OUT FAN IS GOING OUT. VERY ANNOYING AND THE CAR IS NOT THAT OLD. I HEARD THERE WERE RECALLED BUT FOR SOME REASON THE VIN SAYS IT HAS 0 RECALLS WHICH I THINK IS THE MAKERS FAULT. NEED TO FIX AND I WILL STILL HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET WHEN I'M MAKING PAYMENT ON THIS VEHICLE. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
COUPLE OF THINGS, FIRST THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG IS SET TO OFF WHEN THERE IS AN ADULT SITTING THERE, AND I HAVE A BLINKING AIRBAG LIGHT, AT ALL TIMES NO MATTER WHAT. SECOND, THERE IS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE WHEN I TURN MY HEATER ON. I CAN ALSO FEEL THE VIBRATION WHEN I'M STILL. THE SUV ONLY HAS ABOUT 44K MILES. I SEE THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE THAT HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED. I'M DEFINITELY DISAPPOINTED.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR WOULD NOT STAY UP. IT BEGAN WITH NOT GOING ALL THE WAY UP, BUT EVENTUALLY HUNG STRAIGHT DOWN AND COULD NOT PUT IT IN ANY OTHER POSITION. IT HANGS IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE AND CANNOT SEE TO DRIVE. WE ATTEMPTED VELCRO TO ATTACH IT TO THE ROOF, BUT IT WOULD ALL OF A SUDDEN GIVE WAY DROPPING ON MY HEAD (I AM SHORT AND CLOSE TO THE WINDSHIELD) OR IN FRONT OF MY HUSBAND'S FACE WHERE HE COULD NOT SEE. IT DROPS DOWN WITH NO WARNING (PRESSING ON BRAKES, TURNING, ETC). NISSAN REPORTED THIS HAS HAPPENED IN OTHER NISSAN PATHFINDERS, BUT THERE IS NO RECALL AT THIS TIME. OUR PASSENGER SIDE IS BEGINNING TO DO THE EXACT SAME THING.
IN OCTOBER 2019, OUR CAR STARTED MAKING A RATTLING SOUND IN THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE. MY HUSBAND DISCOVERED THAT IT STOPPED WHEN THE AIR SYSTEM (HEATING OR COOLING) WAS TURNED OFF. WE TOOK IT IN TO A MECHANIC AND HE STATED IT SOUNDED LIKE THE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY. WHEN WE FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR (2 YEARS AGO- USED), THE FIRST WEEK WE HAD IT THE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY WENT BAD AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. LUCKILY THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM REPLACED IT WITHOUT CHARGING US. WE WERE SURPRISED TO FIND OUT THE SAME SYSTEM IS FAILING AFTER ONLY 44,000 MILES. IT FAILED AT 33,000 MILES THE FIRST TIME. IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO NOT DRIVE THE CAR FAR DISTANCES WITH THE AIR SYSTEM ON AS THEY ARE UNSURE WHAT COULD HAPPEN TO THE ASSEMBLY OR ITS EFFECT ON THE ENGINE IF IT GETS WORSE. THEY RECOMMEND REPLACING IT AGAIN. WE WERE SURPRISED THIS PIECE SHOULD FAIL TWICE IN THE 77,000 MILES ON THE CAR. NOT CONFIDENT THAT REPLACING IT IS THE ANSWER AS ONE WOULD EXPECT IT TO FAIL AGAIN SINCE THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THE PART.
LUGNUTS COMPLETELY FELL OFF, STEM BROKE, AND WHEEL FLEW UP INTO WHEEL WELL CAUSING A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ACCIDENT AT 60 MPH ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE WITH NO PULL OFF DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE CAR AND MAJOR DAMAGE TO CAR. SECOND TIME IN CAR HISTORY HAS HAD LUGNUTS FALL OFF AND BREAK STEMS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY FAILED TO ACCELERATE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY WHILE IN REVERSE. AFTER RECHARGING THE BATTERY, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO KEATING NISSAN (333 INTERSTATE 45 SOUTH, CONROE, TX) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 37487331. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
JUST NOW PASSED 85K MILES ON MY PATHFINDER. HORRENDOUSLY LOUD AND EMBARRASSING CLATTERING NOISE COMING FROM FRONT OF CAR. NISSAN DIAGNOSED THAT NEEDED TO HAVE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY REPLACED AT A RIDICULOUSLY HIGH PRICE OF $900! I DON'T HAVE $900. SO, IT'S 96 DEGREES OUT AND MY THREE GIRLS AND I ARE TRYING NOT TO HAVE HEAT STROKES IN OUR ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION. WHERE'S THE RECALL NISSAN? I'VE READ HUNDREDS OF OTHER REVIEWS WITH SAME ISSUE.
MY 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER WAS PURCHASED IN NOV. 2018. IT'S BEEN IN THE NISSAN SHOP NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE NOV. WE HAVE ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION STUDDERING/DELAYED ACCELERATION. IT CANT BE REPRODUCED ON DEMAND SO IT'S HARD TO DIAGNOSE. YOU HAVE TO LET OFF THE GAS BEFORE IT WILL GO PROPERLY. ALSO, THE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE WITHIN 1 MONTH WITH NEW PARTS . THIS 3RD TIME ONE OF THE FANS WILL NOT CONTINUE TO BLOW. I'VE READ ONLINE THAT THESE 2 ISSUES ARE VERY COMMON WITH THIS VEHICLE. DISAPPOINTED DOESN'T EVEN DESCRIBE WHAT I FEEL ABOUT THIS VEHICLE AND HAVING A DEALERSHIP LIKE GRAY DANIELS FORD IN MS TREAT US THE WAY THEY HAVE DOES NOT HELP WITH THE ISSUES.
I HAD MY TRANSMISSION FLUSHED AT APPROX. 52K MILES ON 2/23/2019. IN APRIL 2019, THE TRANSMISSION BEGIN HAVING ISSUES. RPMS WOULD RIDE HIGH; HOWEVER, TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT UP-SHIFT. OCCURRED DESPITE ACCELERATOR PRESSED TO THE FLOOR. WHEN RELEASING THE ACCELERATOR AND PRESSING AGAIN, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD JERK AND BEGIN TO UP-SHIFT. ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT. CAN OCCUR WHEN TAKING OFF AFTER STOPPING AT AN INTERSECTION, AND SUDDENLY WHEN SMOOTHLY ACCELERATING UPON ENTERING FREEWAYS. HAVING SAFETY CONCERNS, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN AND EXPLAINED THE ISSUE AS NOTED ABOVE ON 5/8/2019. DESPITE TELLING JOSH KERN THE ISSUE WAS THE TRANSMISSION, I LATER DISCOVERED HE RECORDED THE ISSUE AS "... THE THROTTLE WASN'T RESPONSIVE." HE CALLED SAYING THE CAR WAS DRIVEN 60 MILES AND THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED BY PERFORMING A "IDLE RELEARN" AND "SELF LEARN" SOFTWARE UPDATE. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE VEHICLE NOW IDLED VERY HIGH. AFTER DRIVING IT A FEW DAYS, THE ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN. REVIEWING THE SERVICE DOC, I REALIZED THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY DRIVEN 1 MILE AND NOT THE 60 MILES. IT ALSO HAD NOTES FROM THE TECHNICIAN THAT "ISSUE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED." I RETURNED TO NISSAN TO SPEAK TO THE SERVICE MANAGER, BUT HE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. WHILE THERE, I REQUESTED ALL HARD-COPIES OF WORK PERFORMED. ON ONE PAGE WAS WRITTEN NOTES ABOUT ERASING CODES, MENTION OF THE TRANS., ENGINE & IACV-AAC, ECM ON FADED PRINT-OUT OF CODES. MADE OTHER ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT MANAGER WITH NO SUCCESS. IN AUG.2019, THE DEALERSHIP GM PUT ME IN CONTACT W STEVE ZANI (ASST. SERV. MGR.) HE WAS VERY HELPFUL, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE ISSUE. HIGH IDLE FROM UPDATE SEEMS TO BE MASKING ISSUE FREQUENCY. CALLED NISS CON AFFAIRS-CASE36982668. RENEE' WAS NO HELP. REFUSED TO UPDATE CASE OR CALL DEALERSHIP. HAD MY NAME WRONG, ELUSIVE AND SHORT ON PHONE. WORRIED ISSUE NOT GIVEN PROPER CREDENCE; DESPITE DEFECT AND SAFETY CONCERNS.
WHEN ACCELERATING AND MAINTAINS NORMAL COMMUTER SPEEDS 34-70MPH THE TRANSMISSION IS LOUD AND IN INSTANCES JERKS AS IF IT IS NOT CATCHING THE NEXT GEAR. MY CAR IS 4YRS OLD WITH 77K MILES AND THERE SHOULDN'T BE A NEED FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION, WHICH LOCAL NISSAN DEALER SAYS I NEED. REVIEW HAVE SHOWN THIS IN THE PAST SO I WANT TO MAKE AWARE THAT THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED.
MY VEHICLE IS FINANCED THROUGH NISSAN AND I STILL HAVE 10 MONTHS OF THE NOTE LEFT. I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN PROVIDED A DIAGNOSIS THAT MY COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY MOTOR AND BEARINGS HAVE FAILED AND WILL NEED REPLACEMENT. MANY NISSAN PATHFINDER OWNERS ARE POSTING SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THEIR CARS. I HAVE ONLY APPROXIMATELY 68,000 MILES ON THE CAR. BASED ON THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS, THERE MAYBE AN UNDERLYING PROBLEM WITH THE PART. I AM PROVIDED A $1000 ESTIMATE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I WANT YOU TO TAKE THIS COMPLAINT SERIOUSLY AND PROTECT THE VEHICLE OWNERS.
I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER STARTING AT 64000 MILES I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO THE HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM. LATELY I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WHEN I PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR DOESN'T WANT TO GO. IN ADDITION, IT SEEMS TO HYDROPLANE AND JERK IF THE ROAD IS WET AND YOU GO OVER 40 MILES PER HOUR. THIS IS SO VERY DANGEROUS!! IS THIS BEING ADDRESSED BY NISSAN? I NEED SOMEONE TO CONTACT ME FOR A FIX.
I PURCHASED A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER ON MAY 2015 AND THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR WILL NO LONGER STAY UP, IT HAS BEEN GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS. WILL REQUIRE REPLACEMENT BECAUSE OF A SAFETY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WEATHER STRIPPING ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES OF THE ROOF WERE LOOSE AND THE BOLTS TO SECURE THE LUGGAGE BAR WERE DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. D'ADDARIO NISSAN(329 BRIDGEPORT AVE, SHELTON, CT) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. *BF CONSUMER STATED THE TWO ROOF BARS WERE REPLACED.*JB
THE COOLING FAN STARTED MAKING A TERRIBLE NOISE AT AROUND 48,000 MILES. THE NOISE WOULD HAPPEN WHEN THE FAN KICKED ON. THE FAN WAS STARTING TO SEPARATE FROM THE BEARING. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY WOULDN'T COVER IT. I TOLD THEM MANY OTHER NISSANS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THEY SAID THEY WOULD PUT MY COMPLAINT ON FILE. I HAD TO PAY FOR A NEW FAN OUT OF POCKET.
AT RANDOM, LITTLE TO NO ACCELERATION AT INITIAL TAKE OFF AND/OR WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC ON A HIGHWAY OR STREET EVEN IF PRESSING GAS PEDAL TO FLOOR. VEHICLE WILL START WITHOUT PRESSING BRAKE. BRAKE LIGHT REMAINS ON AFTER CAR IS TURNED OFF. I'VE HAD CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND BRAKE WORK DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM TO NO AVAIL. ALSO, I WANTED TO CHECK SPEED CONTROL AS A AFFECTED PART BUT IT WOULDN'T SELECT.
HAVE HAD VEHICLE IN THREE TIMES FOR SHUDDERING AND JERKING, NOW THAT IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY THEY SAY IT'S THE REAR END. IT WAS SAME COMPLAINT 1ST AND 2ND TIME, BUT NOW WANT ME TO PAY OUT OF POCKET THAT IS OBVIOUS BY THIS WEBSITE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH 2015 PATHFINDERS. I AM ON PHONE CALLING CORPORATE. THIS IS OBSCURE CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD.
DRIVER SIDE VISOR INTERFEARS WITH VISION. IT CAN NOT STAY UP. JUST FLOPS DOWN.
I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE STALLING OUT. I TOOK IT TO NISSAN ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND NO PROBLEM COULD'VE BEEN FOUND UNTIL THE LAST TIME. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE BRAKES WOULD COME ON AUTOMATICALLY. THEY BELIEVE IT WAS A SENSOR PROBLEM, HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM STILL HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.
I WAS BACKING FROM A PARKING SPACE WHEN I STRUCK A PASSING CAR WITH THE BOAT HITCH ON MY REAR BUMPER. IT WAS A LOW-IMPACT COLLISION AS WE WERE BOTH MOVING SLOWLY IN A PARKING LOT. AFTER GETTING OUT OF THE CAR TO SPEAK WITH THE OTHER DRIVER, I RETURNED TO FIND THAT ALL OF THE AIR BAGS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR (INCLUDING FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND CURTAINS FROM THE FRONT WINDOW TO THE REAR) HAD DEPLOYED. NO ONE WAS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME OF IMPACT BUT ME. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE CAR DEPLOYED. I KNOW NISSAN HAS HAD PASSENGER AIR BAG PROBLEMS IN THE PAST AND BEFORE THE ACCIDENT, MINE OFTEN SHOWED THAT AIR BAGS WERE ON WHEN NO ONE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. YOUR DATABASE SAYS THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON MY VIN NUMBER SO I ASSUME THAT PREVIOUS OWNERS HAD THE MATTER ADDRESSED BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN 2018. MY CIRCUMSTANCE ISN'T IDENTICAL TO THE AIR BAG RECALL BUT IS CERTAINLY IRONIC. ALTHOUGH I WASN'T HURT, THE AIR BAGS SURELY DIDN'T HELP ME. THE WRONG ONES DEPLOYED AND WILL COST $6,500 TO REPLACE. CAN YOU DO ANYTHING TO HELP ME?
PATHFINDER RECAL. CAR "SHUTTERS" AND "STUTTERS" WHEN TRANSITIONING IN BETWEEN GEARS. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE IN DRIVE, ENTERING A FREEWAY ON RAMP, MOVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE, IT WAS AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE CAR HAS 69,000 MILES ON IT, AND FOR THE PAST YEAR, AT APPROXIMATELY 53,000 MILES, IT'S BEEN "STUTTERING AND SHUTTERING" WHILE TRANSITIONING IN BETWEEN GEARS.
COOLING FAN STARTED MAKING NOISES WHEN AC OR HEAT IS AT 58K. SOUNDS LIKE THE FAN BEARINGS ARE SHOT. I SEE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON LINE FOR THIS. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE RESOLVED BEFORE THE FAN COMES APART AND TAKES OUT THE RADIATOR.
AIR BAG LIGHT IS GOING OFF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS APPLIED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NALLEY NISSAN OF CUMMING (1310 BUFORD HWY, CUMMING, GA 30041, (678) 648-7290) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STOP LAMP SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
THE BRAKE RELAY IS DEFECTIVE. IT'S CAUSING THE CAR TO THINK THE BRAKE IS ENGAGED AND YOU CANNOT USE THE ACCELERATOR. THE NISSAN TECH NOTES EVEN RECOMMEND BYPASSING PART OF THE SYSTEM WHEN YOU REPAIR. MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD IF YOU CANNOT ACCELERATE IN AN INTERSECTION OR WHILE EGRESSING FROM A PARKING LOT.
VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE (NO THROTTLE RESPONSE) RANDOMLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. RPMS DO NOT BUDGE DESPITE PEDAL BEING TO THE FLOOR. PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE MORE COMMON WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED. SHIFTING VEHICLE I TO NEUTRAL BRIEFLY AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE SEEMS TO RESOLVE PROBLEM, BUT THIS ISN'T AT ALL SAFE TURNING INTO IN AN INTERSECTION WITH CARS COMING. SEEMS KIND OF RIDICULOUS THIS ISN'T A BIG DEAL TO AN OEM.
2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH 43,000 MILES FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS VEHICLE HAS GIVING US PROBLEMS ACCELERATING AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. I WOULD START TO ACCELERATE AFTER A COMPLETE STOP AND THE PATHFINDER WOULD ONLY MOVE AT A SLIGHTLY HIGHER THAN IDLE SPEED UNTIL I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THEN ONCE AGAIN ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. OTHER TIMES I WILL BE DRIVING AT A SPEED ABOVE 20 MILES PER HOUR AND THE PATHFINDER WILL NO LONGER ACCELERATE PAST THE CURRENT SPEED NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR UNTIL I TAP THE BRAKE AND THEN THE ACCELERATOR. I ALSO NOTICED THAT SOME TIMES WHEN ONE OF THESE EVENTS HAPPENS, THE SLIP LIGHT INDICATOR WILL COME ON AND STAY ON UNTIL THE PATHFINDER IS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON. THIS ISSUE CAN HAPPENS RANDOMLY. THIS VEHICLE IS USED TO TRANSPORT MY KIDS TO SCHOOL & ALMOST GOT INTO A COUPLE OF ACCIDENTS DUE TO VEHICLE NOT ACCELERATING FAST ENOUGH. WIFE WILL NOT DRIVE VEHICLE DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS NOW.
FOR APPROXIMATELY THE LAST MONTH THERE HAD BEEN A SHIMMY ON THE FRONT END. WHEN TAKING IT TO BE SERVICED AT THE NISSAN DEALER THERE WERE 13690 MILES ON THE CAR. THE CAR IS PRIMARILY DRIVEN LOCALLY A COUPLE OF TIMES WEEKLY BECAUSE THE OWNER WORKS FROM HOME. THE SERVICE CENTER CAME BACK AND SAID THERE WERE NO FRONT BRAKES LEFT AND WAS SURPRISED WE HAD GOTTEN IN. WHEN ASKED HOW THIS COULD HAPPEN AFTER SO FEW MILES THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THE DRIVER MUST HAVE A HEAVY FOOT. THE DRIVER IS A 59 YEAR OLD WOMAN WHO ONLY DRIVES LOCALLY. THE BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED. NISSAN CORPORATE WAS CONTACTED. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER CAME BACK AND STATED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID MAY HAVE BROKEN DOWN. BOTH EXPLANATIONS ARE IMPLAUSIBLE. A REGIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER CALLED TODAY AND GAVE NO OTHER EXPLANATION BUT STATED SINCE THE CAR WAS 14 MONTHS PAST WARRANTY THEY WOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE. WE HAVE SINCE CONTACTED TWO ACQUAINTANCES WHO ARE MECHANICS AND BOTH SAID NISSAN'S EXPLANATION IS NOT PLAUSIBLE. THIS AFFECTED ONLY THE FRONT BRAKES AND THE CALIPERS WERE UNAFFECTED. WE CAN SEND A COPY OF THE SERVICE BILL IF NEEDED.
LOSS OF POWER WHILE IN MOTION FROM A 35 MPH ZONE AND WENT DOWN TO 20 MPH RELEASE GAS PEDAL AND REGAINED POWER. I SEE THE SAME ISSUE REPORTED OTHER POSTS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE BEFORE THE LOSS OF LIFE.
THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ON WHILE DRIVING AND AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF. AT SEVERAL POINTS, THE ACCELERATOR STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING, THIS HAPPENED ON A FOUR-LANE STREET AND ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS.
VEHICLE BEGAN ISSUES WITH NO ACCELERATION AFTER COMING OFF OF THE BRAKES. HAS TO DOUBLE TAP BRAKES TO GET VEHICLE TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE. THEN IT PROGRESSED INTO THE TAIL LIGHTS WOULD NOT SHUT OFF AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, WHICH WOULD IN TURN DRAIN THE BATTERY. THEN IT PROGRESSED ONCE AGAIN INTO THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AS IT WAS NOT SENSING THE BRAKE BEING DEPRESSED ON A PUSH TO START IGNITION SYSTEM. THE FIX WAS FAULTY RELAYS KNOWN IN PRIOR YEARS FROM 2013-2014 SAME FAULT IN 2015 MODEL BUT NO ACTIVE RECALL. SECOND ISSUE WHEN A/C SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED THERE'S A VIBRATION COMING OFF OF THE FAN ASSEMBLY WHICH CAUSES A LOUD SOUND HEARD WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. ALSO A SEPARATE RECALL ON 2013-2014 PATHFINDER BUT DOES NOT COVER THE 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER.
"TAKATA RECALL" THE CAR LOST POWER INTERMITTENTLY. IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE FOR A FEW MINUTES. THIS HAPPENS WHEN IN STATIONARY ON A CITY STREET AS WELL AS HIGHWAYS.
MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL ISSUES AFTER DEALER SERVICE FOR 80,000 MILES. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT ACCELERATION ISSUES WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC OR STARTING FROM A FULL STOP. LITTLE TO NO ACCELERATION IN THOSE SITUATIONS. OTHER ISSUES THAT CAME UP AT THE SAME TIME INCLUDE: A) INTERMITTENT BRAKE LIGHTS STAYING ON WITH VEHICLE PARKED AND POWERED OFF AND B) INTERMITTENT SKID WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATING FOR NO REASON.
IN THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS, I AM EXPERIENCING LOSS OF ACCELERATION FOR MY NISSAN PATHFINDER 2015 (33,000 MILES). FOR SOME REASONS, THERE IS NO ACCELERATION NOR RPM INCREASED WHEN I FLOORED THE GAS PEDAL FOR SEVERAL SECONDS AFTER RELEASING THE GAS PEDAL (COASTING) DUE TO TRAFFIC STOPS OR WANT TO MAKE A TURN OR AFTER FULL STOP. THE CAR WAS COASTING AROUND 20 MPH AND DIDN'T ACCELERATE.
ON 12/22/18 WE WERE LEAVING THE DRIVEWAY WHEN WE HEARD A LOUD BANGING/CLICKING NOISE FROM THE COOLING FAN ON THE DRIVER SIDE. HAVE TAKEN IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY SAID THAT THE ENTIRE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. SPOKE WITH CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS PART FOR 12-13 NISSAN PATHFINDERS, BUT NOT FOR THE 2015S. THEY GAVE ME A QUOTE OF $730.00 PLUS TAXES TO REPAIR. DON'T KNOW IF VEHICLE CAN EVEN BE DRIVEN BECAUSE IT IS UNKNOWN AS TO WHAT THE FAN IS BUMPING AGAINST. DEALER SAID IF IT IS BUMPING AGAINST THE RADIATOR, IT COULD CAUSE A LEAK OR SEVERE DAMAGE. IF THE FAN BLADES ARE HITTING SOMETHING ELSE, THEY COULD BREAK AND COULD CAUSE ENGINE DAMAGE. WE WOULD NEED TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED ABOUT 60 MILES TO DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE FAN ASSEMBLY.
THE CAR ONLY HAS 22,000 MILES AND THE CENTER DUAL COOLING FAN HAS ALREADY STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE UNFORTUNATELY AS A 2015 THESE VEHICLES IS OUT OF WARRANTY I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ONLINE AND IT SEEMS THAT IT'S BECOME A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE VEHICLE I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS HAS NOT BEING ON RECALL YET MULTIPLE PEOPLE ARE ALSO COMPLAINING AS THEY REPLACE THE PART AND IT GOES BAD WITHIN MONTHS SO IT SEEMS THIS IS A ENGINEERING PROBLEM
COOLING FAN ON RADIATOR VIBRATING WHEN HEAT OR AC TURNED ON.
ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL COMES ON RANDOMLY GOING DOWN THE ROAD OR AT A STOP LIGHT CAUSING THE CAR NOT TO ACCELERATE MAKING THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON ALL THE TIME CAR ONLY HAS 65000 MILES ON IT AFRAID GONNA GET HIT FROM NO ACCELERATION
I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. I HAD MY TRANSMISSION CHANGED UNDER WARRANTY AFTER TWO YEARS AND 8 MONTHS LATER I'VE STARTED TO HAVE ACCELERATION PROBLEMS AND THE BREAK LIGHTS STAY ON AFTER THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. USUALLY AFTER A COMPLETE STOP OR YIELDING I CAN PUSH THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. I ACTUALLY THOUGHT THE CAR TURNED OFF THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. ONE WEEK LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME I CALLED NISSAN CORPORATION AND WAS PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER AND TOLD TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER HAD THE CAR FOR 4 DAYS AND ONCE AGAIN STATED THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. TWO DAYS AFTER PICKING THE CAR UP, IT DID THE EXACT SAME THING. ONCE AGAIN I CALLED NISSAN CORPORATION AND LEFT THEM A MESSAGE. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS SURPRISED THAT THEY TOLD ME I COULDN'T BRING THE CAR IN, BECAUSE THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I SUBMIT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT SHOULD FORCE NISSAN TO RECALL ALL VEHICLES AFFECTED WITH NO ACCELERATION.
I JUST PURCHASED A USED 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH 24,000 MILES THREE MONTHS AGO. IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS ACCELERATING AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. THIS ISSUE CAN HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES IN ONE DAY OR NOT AT ALL FOR SEVERAL DAYS. I WAS ALMOST T-BONED TODAY WHILE CROSSING A STREET WHEN I HAD NO POWER. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG.
ENGINE RATTLING, TURNED OUT TO BE A FAULTY RADIATOR COOLING FAN. NEEDED TO REPLACE WHOLE FAN ASSEMBLY AFTER 50,000 MILES. INTERMITTENTLY BRAKE LIGHTS WILL STAY ON WHEN CAR IS PARKED, DRAINING THE BATTERY. PERHAPS A BRAKE RELAY SWITCH. ALSO INTERMITTENTLY, THE VEHICLE HAS SEVERE ISSUES ACCELERATING. IF GOING 40 MPH, AND ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE, THERE IS LITTLE TO NO RESPONSE. FROM FULL STOP, THERE IS OCCASIONALLY NO RESPONSE AT ALL UNTIL RELEASING AND REAPPLYING THE GAS PEDAL. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS!
THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. COOLING FAN BEGAN TO MAKE WEIRD NOISES, HAD TO REPLACE COMPLETE FAN ASSEMBLY AFTER 40K MILES.
FROM A COMPLETE STOP MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FASTER THAN 10 MPH. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES NOW. THE FIRST TIME I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND WHEN IT WAS TIME TO ACCELERATE, I WAS UNABLE TO EVEN PRESSING THE GAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND BRAKE, THEN HIT THE GAS AND IT WAS ABLE TO GO AGAIN. THE NEXT TIME WAS AFTER BRAKING AT A STOP SIGN. THE THIRD TIME WAS AFTER STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT. I HAD HEAVY TRAFFIC BEHIND ME AND I COULD ONLY GO 10 MPH. I EVEN NOTICED AFTER I PARKED MY CAR AND GOT OUT OF IT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE STILL ON AS IF SOMEONE WAS SITTING THERE PRESSING THE BRAKE-WHICH WASN'T THE CASE AT ALL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAD MY CHILD IN THE CAR ALL THREE TIMES AND IM LUCKY I DID NOT GET REAR ENDED.
THREE TIMES THIS WEEK WE HAVE TRIED TO ACCELERATE OUR VEHICLE WITH NO RESPONSE. IN ADDITION, THREE TIMES THIS WEEK THE BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE STAYED ON AFTER SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF. THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL STAY ON UNTIL YOU OPERATE THE VEHICLE AGAIN. THE ONE DAY WE DIDNT NOTICE FOR ABOUT 40 MINUTES. I HAVE READ THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS FOR THE 2013 AND 2014 BRAKE RELAY SWITCH SO I'M THINKING THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE.
BREAK LIGHTS WILL STAY ON EVEN IF THE CAR IS PARKED. IT WILL STAY ON WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I HAVE TO DEPRESS BRAKE PEDAL TWICE. THE OTHER ISSUE IS LOSS OF POWER. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR WILL NOT GO WHEN I PUSH THE GAS. EVEN IF THE ACCELERATOR IS FULLY DEPRESSED THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. THIS ALSO OCCURS WHILE IN MOTION. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND THERE WAS LOSS OF POWER.
BREAK LIGHTS WILL STAY ON EVEN IF THE CAR IS PARKED. IT WILL STAY ON WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR THE BREAK LIGHTS TO GO OFF. REDICULOUS! THE OTHER ISSUE IS LOSS OF POWER. USUALLY WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE SKID DUMMY LIGHT WILL TURN ON AND STAY ON. I HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN INTO SEVERAL ACCIDENTS WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND FROM MY RESEARCH I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER OF PATHFINDER THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. THIS IS A TOTAL SAFETY ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOME ONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED!!!
COOLING FAN VIBRATION NOISE IN DRIVING AND STATIONARY MODE.
MY CVT TRANSMISSION IS SO LOUD THAT I WAS ALMOST T BONED BY A FIRE TRUCK BECAUSE I COULD NOT HEAR THE SIRENS. PLEASE HELP!
MY VEHICLE HAS 47000 MILES ON IT AND THE FAN HAS FAILED CAUSING NOISE WHEN EITHER THE HEAT OR AC IS TURNED ON. I SEE THAT IT IS A COMMON COMPLAINT
AT LESS THAN 41,000 MILES, THE BEARINGS IN THE DUAL RADIATOR AND CONDENSER FAN ASSEMBLY ARE WORN AND THE FAN ASSEMBLY SHAKES WHEN THE FANS TURN ON. IF THE FANS BREAK WHILE DRIVING, IT MAY DAMAGE THE ENGINE OR CAUSE THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT. MANY OWNERS OF THIS NISSAN MODEL HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME ISSUE OCCURRING AT 30,000 - 60,000 MILES. THE FAN ASSEMBLY APPEARS TO BE UNRELIABLE.
DURING NORMAL OPERATION, RADIATOR COOLING FAN MAKES A BUZZING NOISE WHEN HVAC SYSTEM IS TURNED ON TO ANY SETTING. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, PASSENGER SIDE RADIATOR FAN IS OFF BALANCE, CAUSING VIBRATION AND BUZZING SOUND. WITH VEHICLE TURNED OFF, FAN BLADE WAS VERIFIED LOSS. THE VEHICLE HAS 30,200 MILES. DURING MY RESEARCH, I HAVE NOTICED MANY SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE SAME VEHICLE BETWEEN 30,000 AND 50,000 MILES. WITH A BACKGROUND IN AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE AND QUALITY ENGINEERING, IT IS MY OPINION THAT THE AMOUNT OF VIBRATION IS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO EVENTUALLY CONTACT THE RADIATOR OR BREAK LOOSE, POSSIBLY CAUSING A COOLANT LEAK OR OTHER UNDERHOOD DAMAGE.
IN 2017 I STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS ACCELERATING AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. EVERY TIME EITHER OF THESE EVENTS HAPPENS, THE SLIP LIGHT INDICATOR WILL COME ON AND STAY ON UNTIL THE PATHFINDER IS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON. THIS ISSUE CAN HAPPEN 10 TIMES IN ONE DAY OR NOT AT ALL FOR SEVERAL DAYS. IN 2017 I FOUND A LOT OF PATHFINDER OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM ONLINE, SO I TOOK IT TO NISSAN D'PATRICK IN EVANSVILLE, IN. I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND SPENT A COUPLE OF HOURS IN THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THEY ADJUSTED A FEW THINGS BUT COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY PROBLEM ALONG THE LINES OF WHAT I WAS TELLING THEM. I WENT BACK TO D'PATRICK LETTING THEM KNOW THAT WHATEVER THEY ADJUSTED DID NOT WORK. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS WHEN TURNING INTO TRAFFIC AND THE PATHFINDER NOT ACCELERATING.I HAVE LEARNED TO BE PATIENT WHEN TURNING ON TO A BUSY STREET BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW WHEN THE PATHFINDER WILL NOT PERFORM THE SIMPLE DUTY OF ACCELERATING. THIS VEHICLE IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK TO MY FAMILY AND OTHER INNOCENT PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. I MET SOMEONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM LOCALLY AND HE TOLD ME THAT HE FILED A COMPLAINT ON NISSAN AND HAD THE DEALERSHIP PULL UP ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS AND THEY ADMITTED THAT THEY KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THAT THEY HAVE A WORK AROUND FOR THE ISSUE BY BYPASSING A HARNESS SYSTEM.
COOLING FAN BEARINGS HAVE GONE BAD TWICE IN 75000 MILES. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS STILL IN WARRANTY. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME AND IT IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM AND NISSAN NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE. THANKS
THE COOLANT FAN IS DEFECTIVE MAKES A TERRIBLE NOISE. I ONLY HAVE 26000 MILES AND NOW HAVE TO REPLACE A EXPENSIVE PART. UNFORTUNATELY WARRANT RAN OUT BECAUSE OF AGE OF CAR. IT WAS SITTING AT AN IDLE AND SUDDENLY THEN STARTED CLANGING VERY LOUDLY.
COOLING FAN FAILURE
WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE STALLS. UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. BREAK LIGHT SWITCH RELAY.ALREADY A PREVIOUS RECALL.
WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AFTER BRAKING FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL, OFTEN I CANNOT GET THE CAR TO ACCELERATE PAST 10 MPH. I SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL, BACK INTO DRIVE, AND CAN ACCELERATE PROPERLY. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO WOLFCHASE NISSAN IN BARTLETT, TN. THEY ARE UNABLE TO RELOCATE THE PROBLEM, THUS PREVENTING THEM FROM ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. THIS HAPPENS IF I'M STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, ALSO IF I AM MAKING A TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME, BUT OFTEN ENOUGH TO BE CONSIDERED DANGEROUS.
WHILE DRIVING MY PATHFINDER ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS AND ROADS, I WOULD BE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC, TURNING ONTO A ROAD AND JUST TRYING TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE OFTEN LOSES ALL POWER AND DECELERATES. I HAVE PLACED THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, AND YET HAVE NO POWER. IT TAKES AT LEAST 10-15 SECONDS TO REGAIN POWER AND BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. OFTEN TIMES I'VE BEEN CLOSE TO BEING REAR ENDED, ESPECIALLY ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS, WITH MY 2 MONTH OLD NIECE IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME BY TRACTOR TRAILERS. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND ANYONE IN THE CAR WITH ME, AS WELL AS OTHER DRIVERS WHO HAVE POTENTIAL TO REAR END ME AS I LOSE POWER. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON ROUTE 70 IN NEW STANTON, PA, ROUTE 119 (SEVERAL PARTS) IN GREENSBURG, PA, VARIOUS LOCATIONS ON ROUTE 30 IN GREENSBURG, PA, CAMEO LANE, GREENSBURG, PA, TWIN LAKES PARK, AND GEORGE'S STATION ROAD IN GREENSBURG, PA, AS WELL AS ROUTE 217 IN DERRY, PA AND INDIANA, PA. THIS WAS TAKEN TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN GREENSBURG, PA TWINCE FOR THE SAME ISSUE, AND THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE, BUT CLAIMED THE FIRST TIME IT WAS IN, THAT IT WAS A FAULTY BRAKE SWITCH, AND REPLACED IT FOR $217.00. THAT DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND IT WAS BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP A WEEK LATER. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL WEBSITES, INCLUDING A NEWS STATION THAT COVERED THIS ISSUE (WITH A FATAL ACCIDENT) AND NISSAN HAS NEVER CORRECTED THE PROBLEM IN ANY OF THE CASES.
ON OR ABOUT JANUARY 19, 2019 WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN AT THE INTERCEPTION OF ROSCOE AND WOODMAN AVE. IN PANORAMA CITY, CALIFORNIA AND WHEREAS WITH NO WARNING NOR ANY INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER THE VEHICLE STALLED WHEN I TRIED TO QUICKLY ACCELERATE BUT INSTEAD THE TRANSMISSION STALLED AND ENDED UP THRUSTING THE VEHICLE FORWARD ONLY TO LEAVE ME THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERCEPTION AND EXPOSED TO THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND OF WHICH IT CAME TO SCREECHING STOP AND LITERALLY COMING WITHIN INCHES OF POSSIBLY T-BONING OUR VEHICLE AND OR CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY, ROAR AND MAKE A VERY LOUD KNOCKING NOISE. I HAD JUST STARTED THE ENGINE AND IT WAS IN MY GARAGE AND STATIONARY. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED THE CAR OFF. LATER THAT DAY, MY HUSBAND STARTED THE CAR AGAIN WITHOUT ISSUE. HE PULLED OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY AND PROCEEDED LESS THAN 100 YARDS DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THE NOISE AND SHAKING STARTED AGAIN. I CALLED THE DEALER WHO STATED IT WAS MOST LIKELY THE COOLING FAN (CONFIRMED BY DIAGNOSIS AT SAME DEALER) THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
I PURCHASED MY NISSAN IN AUGUST OF 2018. IT ONLY HAD A LITTLE OVER 23K MILES. ON 12/22/2018 I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO BARON NISSAN WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCEL WHEN SPEED WAS BELOW 20 MILES PER HOUR. IF I ATTEMPTED TO SLOW DOWN AND THEN BEGIN TO ACCEL AGAIN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. IT JUST ROLLS AS I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL MANY TIMES. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BEGIN TO ACCEL. THE DEALER ADVISED THE STOP LAMP SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I LEFT WITH THE VEHICLE AND THEN TWO DAYS LATER I BEGAN TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. IT IS RANDOM AND YOU NEVER CAN TELL WHEN IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO GET ON A HIGHWAY OR MAKING A LEFT TURN AND THE CAR DOESN'T ACCELERATE. CAR WENT BACK TO BARON NISSAN ON 12/29/2018. THE VEHICLE WAS CHECKED, DRIVEN PERSONALLY BY SERVICE MANAGER AND I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT FIND AN ERROR CODE STATING WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE. NOW I HAVE REVIEWED THIS SITE AND SEE 3 OTHER OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. NOW I HAVE RECORDED MY CAR SLIP LIGHT BEING ON MORE THAN ON ONE OCCASION, MY BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OFF AND I BEGIN TO FEEL THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE NOT ACCELERATING. IM TRYING TO TEACH MY SON HOW TO DRIVE AND CAR WOULD NOT ACCEL AS HE WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN. THIS PROBLEM IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND NISSAN NEEDS TO GET A PERMINANT FIX IMMEDIATELY. AT THIS TIME MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 29K MILES AND I WILL BE REPORTING PROBLEM TO NISSAN CORPORATE
THE COOLING FAN/RADIATOR FAN IS MAKING A TERRIBLE NOISE. IT'S SOUNDS LIKE THE FAX IS UNSTABLE AND STRIKING OTHER PARTS OF THE VEHICLE.DEALER SAID IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED OR IT WILL CAUSE PERMANENT/ CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND POSSIBLY INJURY IT'S OCCUPANTS. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER,3 MONTHS AGO. IT ONLY HAS 37,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE SEEN ONLINE THAT THIS IS A COMMON DEFECT TO THIS VEHICLE. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY CALLING FOR A RECALL ON THIS PART IMMEDIATELY.
I PURCHASED A USED 2015 PATHFINDER. IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES IN 7 MONTHS. TRANSMISSION ISSUE, JERKING THE CAR...IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION..PART INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. THE GEAR SHIFTER WENT OUT & NOW THE FAN. OF COURSE I'VE HAD TO FIGHT WITH NISSAN AFFAIRS AND THEY ARE ONLY WILLING TO PAY 60%! AFTER READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL!
I HEARD A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AND THEY SAID THE BEARINGS ON THE RADIATOR FAN ARE BAD CAUSING THE FAN TO WOBBLE AND STRIKE AGAINST THE SHROUD. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW AND HAS 52,700 MILES ON IT. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE. IF NOT REPLACED THE FAN CAN BREAK INTO PIECES AND CAUSE OTHER COSTLY ENGINE REPAIRS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A DEFECT IN THE PART.
THE COOLING/RADIATOR FAN MAKES A RATTLING NOISE WHEN THE A/C IS ON, THIS STARTED AFTER THE CAR REACHED 60,000 MILES. SEEMS LIKE A COMMON THING ON PATHFINDERS AFTER REACHING 60+ MILES.
DRIVER SIDE VISOR DOES NOT CLOSE COMPLETELY OR STAY IN PLACE WHEN OPENED. WHEN OPENED TO BLOCK SUN, IT DOESN'T STAY IN POSITION AND BLOCKS SOME VISIBILITY OF THE ROAD INFRONT. DOES THIS WEATHER VEHICLE IS ON OR OFF.
NOTICED A RATTLING COMING FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT TOWARDS THE FROM OF MY VEHICLE WHEN IN THE DRIVE THRU. TOOK IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP. BEARINGS IN THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN HAVE FAILED REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MECHANIC WILL CAUSE CATASTROPHIC ENGINE DAMAGE DUE TO FAN BREAKING APART AND PIECES GOING INTO ENGINE. SEARCHING ONLINE SHOWS THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM HAPPENING AT 30-70K MILES ON THESE VEHICLES.
ENGINE COOLING FAN MAKES LOUD NOISE WHEN THE AC/HEAT IS TURNED ON. AND STOPS WHEN THE AC/HEATS TURNS OFF. ONLY 42,000 MILES. FAN SEEMS TO WOBBLE A BIT
BOTH MY SUN VISORS HAVE FAILED AFTER ONLY 61000 MILES. THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR LOST ITS ABILITY TO STAY IN EITHER THE UP OR FULLY FORWARD SITUATION RESULTING IN IT FALLING DOWN IN FRONT OF MY VISION WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR IS ALMOST AT THE SAME STAGE OF FAILURE. IT HANGS DOWN 2 INCHES FROM THE TOP OF THE ROOF. MULTIPLE TIMES PASSENGERS HAVE HIT THEIR FACE ON THE VISOR WHEN LEANING FORWARD. AFTER TALKING WITH THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP'S PARTS DEPARTMENT, THEY INDICATED THAT SITUATION IS NOT ABNORMAL. THE PARTS PERSON SAID HE WAS IN A SIMILAR SITUATION WITH HIS PATHFINDER. I ENDED UP REPLACING THE DRIVERS SIDE VISOR SINCE IT WAS BLOCKING MY VISION WHILE DRIVING. SOON THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE ATTACHED PICTURES THE VISOR DESIGN IS SUB-PAR AND SHOULD BE REDESIGNED AND PROVIDED TO CUSTOMERS.
I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER WHICH I BOUGHT BRAND NEW IN 2015. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 39,400. VERY RECENTLY THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN HAS STARTED MAKING RATTLING NOISE AND IT APPEARS WOBBLE WHEN FAN IS RUNNING. I HAVE DONE LOT OF RESEARCH DURING THE LAST FEW DAYS OVER THE INTERNET AND IT SEEMS LIKE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MANY NISSAN PATHFINDER OVER THE YEARS. ALSO, MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD IT AND MAKE COMPLAINTS TO NISSAN MANUFACTURERS DIRECTLY AND THEY REFUSE TO ADMIT IT AS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM. IT'S A DESIGN FAILURE FOR SURE AND THE FAN CAN BREAK, AND MAY COME APART AND GO INTO THE ENGINE CAUSING MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE NHTSA MADE THIS A GENERAL RECALL, SO NO OTHER PATHFINDER OWNER HAS TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. THIS IS BECOMING A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
AFTER HEARING RATTLING UNDER THE HOOD, I TOOK MY CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE FAN SHROUD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS COST IS OVER $900. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TO CALL NISSAN TO ASK THEM TO PAY FOR THE PART. THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THAT THIS PART IS BREAKING IN ALMOST ALL NISSAN PATHFINDERS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 40,000 AND 60,000 MILES. MY CAR HAD ~54,000 MILES. I HAD TO FIGHT WITH NISSAN TO COVER THE COST OF THE PART. THEY ORIGINALLY ONLY WANTED TO COVER 80%, WHICH I FOUND TO BE UNACCEPTABLE, SINCE IT WAS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE THE NHTSA TO ISSUE A RECALL SO NO ONE ELSE HAS TO GO THROUGH THIS TO GET THE PART FIXED. I WAS LUCKY MY DEALERSHIP WAS HONEST ABOUT THE PROBLEM BEING A WIDESPREAD PATHFINDER PROBLEM. I WOULD HATE FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO HAVE TO PAY SO MUCH MONEY FOR A MANUFACTURING DEFECT.
I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER THAT THE RADIATOR COOLING FANS HAVE WENT OUT ON I'VE GOOGLED THIS PROBLEM AND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD IT AND MAKE COMPLAINTS TO NISSAN IT'S A DESIGN FAILURE IT CAN BREAK AND COME APART AND GO INTO THE ENGINE CAUSING PROBLEMS
WHEN I TURN ON HEAT, THERE IS A RATTLING/GRINDING NOISE(LOAD) COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF CAR. THAT NOISE IS RELATED TO TURNING ON HEAT.
SUDDEN LOSS OF ACCELERATION WHEN FUEL LEVEL IS LOW, PARTICULARLY WHEN STARTING A TURN OR STARTING TO CROSS A STREET FROM A STOP, IF THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE THEN AN ACCIDENT MAY HAPPEN. THE VEHICLE COMPUTER REPORTS A PROBLEM WITH EMISSIONS YET REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP MADE IT GO AWAY.
COOLING FAN STARTING MAKING NOISE AND IT APPEARS TO WOBBLE WHEN FAN IS RUNNING.
I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT A PROBLEM WITH THE RADIATOR AND CONDENSER FAN MALFUNCTIONING. I WAS LOOKING ONLINE AND I'M NOT THE ONLY WAY THERE ARE THOUSAND OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING THE SAME. LOOKS LIKE THEY DID IT ON PURPOSE AS THEY ALL SEEM TO FAILED AROUND THE SAME MILEAGES. 40K TO 50K. AND FOR A PC OF PLASTIC IT IS REALLY EXPENSIVE.JUST THE PART ITSELF IS 288.00 DOLLARS. THAT IS MORE THAN THE COST OF A REGULAR WINDOW AC. PLEASE LOOK ONLINE FOR THE PROBLEM YOU WILL SEE MULTIPLES FORUMS COMPLAINING OF THIS. SOMETIMES PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO FIX THEM IRREPLACEABLE THEM ON THEIR OWN AS NISSAN CHARGE MORE THAN 1000 THOUSAND TO FIX THIS. REPEAT LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE DOING IT ON PURPOSE. THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2014. AND STILL USING THE SAME FAN AND DESIGN UNTIL THIS YEAR MODEL. THANK YOU
THE AC AND HEAT FAN MAKES LOUD SOUNDS STARTED IN SUMMER 2017. IT'S SO LOUD THAT I HAVE TO TURN IT COMPLETELY OFF NOW.
DURING ACCELERATION THERE IS A SUDDEN COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER. ENGINE DOESN'T TURN OFF AND THE RPMS DO NOT RISE. THE POWER WILL COME BACK WITHIN A FEW SECONDS. I WAS ON A SURFACE STREET MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN ONTO TO AN ACCESS ROAD THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. TODAY, THE NEXT DAY, A WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHEN I TRIED TO GO AFTER THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I HAD ZERO POWER FOR 3-4 SECONDS.
I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE VEHICLE HAS 53K MILES AND ESSENTIALLY THE RADIATOR/ A/C CONDENSER FAN ASSEMBLY STARTED MAKING A GRINDING (METAL TO METAL, KNOCKING NOISE. FOR SURE THE FAN BLADES ARE OUT OF BALANCE, I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY BROKEN FAN BALDES OR TIPS. I'VE READ SOME COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER PATHFINDER OWNERS AND IT SEEMS TO BE A DEFECT FROM NISSAN. SO FAR THE ISSUE SEEMS START HAPPENING AT AROUND 50K MILES AND UP. FOR THE FAN(S) TO GIVE OUT AT 50K MILES SEEMS TO ME A LITTLE MORE R&D SHOULD HAVE BEEN APPLIED. SO FAR I'VE ONLY SEEN THE 2015 MODELS WITH THE ISSUE. BY THE WAY, THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT... ALL FACTORY, UNTOUCHED... UNRELATED BUT DOES ANYONE ELSE'S ABS BRAKE UNIT MAKE A LOUD WHINING NOISE? I REMEMBER THE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW, THE NOISE WAS AT A BARE MINIMUM. AS THE MILES CLIMB UP SO DOES THE NOISE...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE AIR CONDITIONER UNIT WHEN IT WAS TURNED ON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE SERVICE WHEN IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE COOLANT FAN HAD FAILED. THE DEALER TOWN NORTH NISSAN (9160A RESEARCH BLVD, AUSTIN, TX 78758 (512)-451-7411) WAS CONTACT IN REGARDS TO THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A DIAGNOSED FEE HAD TO BE CHARGED IN ORDER FOR THE DEALER TO DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRM THERE WERE NO RECALLS UNDER THE VIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,796.
I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE VISORS IN MY 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THEY ARE BOTH BROKE AND HANG DOWN IN FRONT OF MY LINE OF VISION. NISSAN WILL NOT REPAIR THESE. I HAVE REPLACED BOTH AND THEY HAVE BROKEN IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT AGAIN. MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD. I HAVE HAD TO REMOVE THEM AND CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS AGAIN. SO NOW THE SUN IS MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD AS OPPOSED TO THE VISOR BLOCKING MY LINE OF VISION. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM FOR MANY NISSAN OWNERS. THE DEALERSHIP EVEN NOTED THAT NISSAN NEEDS TO DO A RECALL BECAUSE OF THE INCIDENT RATES. THE VISORS BOTH BROKE WHILE DRIVING AND I HAD TO HOLD THEM UP AND OUT OF THE WAY MAKING ME UTILIZE ONE HAND TO DRIVE.
COOLING FAN-AFTER TURNING ON THE VEHICLE AND THE A/C A KNOCKING AND RATTLING NOISE CAME FROM THE ENGINE. WHEN I TOOK IT IN, THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT IS A "WARPED COOLING FAN" AND THAT IF IT BREAKS COMPLETELY WILL NOT COOL THE ENGINE AND WILL CAUSE THE ENGINE TO FAIL AS WELL. THE VEHICLE IS A 2015 WITH 54,000 MILES ON IT. WE ARE THE SECOND OWNERS AND HAVE OWNED IT FOR 1.5 YEARS. A VEHICLE WITH THIS MILEAGE AND AGE SHOULD NOT HAVE REPAIRS OF THIS MAGNITUDE.
BRAKES MAKE A CLICKING NOISE ALMOST AS IF THE PADS ARE BOUNCING AROUND AT ANY SPEED WITH LIGHT BRAKE APPLICATION. ENGINE COOLING FAN IS MAKING A RACKET BOUNCING OFF OF SHROUD WHEN THE HEAT OR A/C IS TURNED ON. IT IS THE PASSENGER SIDE FAN. JUST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED AND ONLY HAS 50K. NICE VEHICLE, JUST WISH I DIDNT HAVE TO TURN AROUND AND MAKE REPAIRS THAT SHOULD NOT BE NEEDED.
RADIATOR COOLING FAN MAKES LOUD NOISE WHEN THE A/C IS TURNED ON AND STOPS WHEN THE A/C IS TURNED OFF. ONLY HAVE 51,356 MILES
WHEN DRIVING AND PUSHING THE GAS THE CAR WILL NOT GO, IT SEEMS IT GETS STUCK AND THE CAR JUST DOESNT MOVE, AFTER PUSHING THE GAS HARD A FEW TIMES AND SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC THE CAR THEN GOES. THIS HAS HAPPENED SO MANY TIMES. HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAY THEY FIXED IT BY REPLACING A PART. AFTER MAYBE 1000 MILES LATER IT STARTS DOING IT AGAIN. TAKE IT BACK TO DEALER AND THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG THEY CHECKED THE COMPUTER AND THIS WAS AT 59K WHICH HAD ME MAD AS THE WARRANTY WOULD BE EXPIRING SOON AND THE DEALER SAYS TO BAD WE WILL BE AT FAULT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN SINCE OUT OF WARRANTY. THIS HAPPENS ON A STREET. AND IS VERY SCARY WHEN PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF CARS AND THEN THE CAR WONT GO.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND HEARD A POWERFUL EXPLOSION. I SAW DEBRIS OUT OF THE CORNER OF MY EYE AND THOUGHT I HAD A BLOWN TIRE, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT WOBBLY. AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN AND PULLING OVER, I COULD HEAR THE WIND. I SLOWLY STARTED TO OPEN THE SHADE AND THEN REALIZED IT WAS THE SUNROOF THAT HAD EXPLODED
DRIVERS SUN VISOR FAULTY, IT BROKE DURING FIRST MONTH. CHEAP PLASTIC CONSTRUCTION IT CLICKS AND HANGS OBSTRUCTING VIEW. MANY DRIVERS HAVE REPORTED THIS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE.
VISOR CLICKING WHEN MOVING UP OR DOWN. NOW NEITHER VISOR WILL STAY UP IN ITS INTENDED POSITION. THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR IS CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN AS IT IS SAGGING IN FRONT OF MY FACE.
AT 32,000 MILES, A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE ENGINE AREA WHEN AIR CONDITIONING WAS ON. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE DRIVERS SIDE RADIATOR FAN WAS RUBBING AGAINST THE SHROUD. COMPLETE COOLING FAN MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ITEM WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, DEALER REPAIR WAS $1,000 SO IT WAS REPAIRED AT THE LOCAL SHOP FOR $600. I HAD PREVIOUSLY OWNED A 2013 PATHFINDER AND IT HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AT 45,000 MILES. SEEMS TO ME LIKE A DESIGN ISSUE.
SUNVISORS ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE HAVE A DESIGN FLAW AND A PIECE INSIDE THE VISOR BREAKS. WHEN THIS PIECE BREAKS, THE VISORS WILL NOT STAY UP OR DOWN AND JUST HANG IN THE DRIVERS LINE OF SIGHT.
SUN VISOR FALLS DOWN IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER BLOCKING THEIR VIEW OF TRAFFIC. FAULTY SUNVISORS MADE OF PLASTIC ARE THE PROBLEM AND THERE ARE MANY PATHFINDER OWNERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THEM. IF YOU HOLD THE SUN VISOR UP WHILE YOUR DRIVING THEN YOUR DRIVING WITH ONE HAND ON THE STEERING WHEEL.
RADIATOR COOLING FAN WOBBLES AND MAKES LOAD/GRINDING NOISE! POTENTIALLY ENGINE OVERHEATING CAN BE DANGEROUS TO OCCUPANTS IN THE CAR DURING A ROAD TRIP!
RADIATOR COOLING FAN IS LOOSE AND MAKES A LOUD BANGING NOISE WHEN THE A/C IS ON.THIS STARTED AROUND THE 38K MILEAGE MARK. THIS HAPPENS WHEN STATIONARY OR WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. SOMETIMES IT'LL GO WEEKS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. I'VE NOTICED THAT MAKING SHARP TURNS CAN SET OFF THE WOBBLING FAN, CAUSING WEEKS OF ANNOYING, LOUD, AND QUIET EMBARRASSING BLUNDER AS IF I WERE BANGING POTS AND PANS TOGETHER. IF YOU TURN A/C OFF, THE NOISE STOPS. WHEN INSPECTING THE FAN WITH A/C OFF, THE FAN IS VERY WOBBLY AND APPEARS TO BANG AGAINST OTHER PARTS RESULTING IN THE LOUD NOISE. PLEASE HELP!!!
THE SUN VISORS ARE POORLY ENGINEERED AND ARE EASILY BROKEN THROUGH NORMAL OPERATION. THE VISOR WAS PLACED AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD TO BLOCK THE SUN, WHILE DRIVING, THE VISOR PIVOTED DOWNWARD AND BLOCKED THE DRIVER'S FIELD OF VIEW. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AS ONE CAN EASILY SEE WITH A QUICK WEB QUERY. FRUSTRATING THAT THE PART IS EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE, BUT EVEN MORE CONCERNING THAT IT PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD AND NISSAN DEALERSHIPS SAID "IT'S COMMON THAT THE VISORS BREAK BECAUSE THEY'RE MADE OF CHEAP PLASTIC"
MY TRUCK IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEYRE CLAIMING THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A NEW TRUCK WITH 71000 MILES
THE COOLING FAN FAILED AT LESS THAN 50,000 MILES. THIS PRODUCT IS FLAWED AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. DEALER SELLS A FAN ASSEMBLY FOR 800.00 PLUS LABOR. THIS IS A RIDICULOUS FEE FOR A COOLING FAN. I WAS ABLE TO BUY THE PART FOR 300 ONLINE AND CORRECT THIS ISSUE MYSELF BUT THE PRICE IS STILL HIGHER THAN IT SHOULD BE. THIS FAN SHOULD NOT BE FAILING THIS EARLY IN THE VEHICLE LIFE SPAN.
ONGOING ISSUE FOR THREE YEARS! PLEASE HELP! CRUISE CONTROL DROPS OUT WHILE TOWING. WE ALMOST GOT HIT BY AN 18 WHEELER DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD! I HAD MY GRANDSON WITH ME!! THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS UNRESOLVED. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS AND MESSAGES TO CONTACT CHARLOTTE AT 6157257808 OVER THE COURSE OF AT LEAST THREE-FOUR WEEKS, I HAVE RESOLVED THE FACT THAT NISSAN DOES NOT CARE ABOUT MY ISSUE. HENCE I WILL BE CONTACTING THE BBB TO GET THIS MATTER RESOLVED TO MY SATISFACTION. I AM IN THE MARKET FOR A NEW CAR AND IT WILL NOT BE NISSAN.
TRANSMISSION WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS HAPPENS ANYTIME AT ANY SPEED, THE WHOLE CAR SHAKES AND THE VEHICLE DOESN'T WANT TO SPEED UP. WAS MERGING ONTO HIGHWAY AND PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATION JUST A LITTLE BIT AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT WANT TO SPEED UP. ALL IT DID FOR A FEW SECONDS WAS SHAKE AND SHIMMY THE VEHICLE. FELT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS HAVING ISSUES. THIS STARTED TO HAPPEN AT 30,000 MILES WITH THE VEHICLE THAT WAS JUST BARELY 2 YEARS OLD. BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG WITH TRANSMISSION BUT AN OUTDATED SOFTWARE FOR CVS TRASNMISSSION, THEY UPDATED IT AND THE VEHICLE HAS WAY HIGHER RPMS WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS EVERY SO LITTLE AND THE TRANSMISSION STILL DOES THE SAME ISSU AS BEFORE. NISSAN STILL STATES NOTHING IS WRONG. I BEG TO DIFFER WHEN I'M GETTING ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE WHOLE VEHICLE SHAKES AND DOESN'T WANT TO MOVE AND ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH BY BEING HIT WHEN VEHICLE WON'T SPEED UP BUT WANTS TO SHAKE AND SHIMMY THE ENTIRE VEHICLE FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN GO IS A SAFETY ISSUE!
SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE, MY NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS FAILED TO ACCELERATE EITHER AT A STOP OR DURING NORMAL SPEED. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT STALL, BUT WOULD ONLY ACCELERATE ALMOST AT IDLE SPEED. THE SYMPTOM OF THE PROBLEM WOULD OCCUR A COUPLE OF TIME THEN THE SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD DISPLAY AND STAY ON UNTIL THE CAR WAS SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED, I HAVE SEVERAL PICTURES DEMONSTRATING THE ISSUE AS DESCRIBED FOR WHEN THE INDICATOR SLIP LIGHT FOR THE LIMITED SLIP CONTROL WOULD DISPLAY IN CLEAR CONDITIONS. THIS WOULD OCCUR IN IDEAL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND ROAD CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR AND MY FOOT WAS DEFINITELY NOT ENGAGING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS PRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PULL INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR ATTEMPTING TO PASS A SLOWER VEHICLE. I COULD DEPRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR WITH NO IMPACT ON ACCELERATION. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL NEAR MISSES WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC DUE TO FAILURE TO ACCELERATE. I TOOK IN THE VEHICLE INTO D-PATRICK NISSAN IN EVANSVILLE, INDIANA SEVERAL TIMES AND TO ANDY MOHR NISSAN, INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA. IN BOTH CASES, THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DETECT ANY ISSUES WITH CODE ERRORS OR REPLICATE THE ISSUE EVEN AFTER I PROVIDE PHOTO EVIDENCE OF THE ISSUE I WAS HAVING. THE FAILURE TO ACCELERATE IS SO RANDOM AND CAN HAPPEN SEVERAL DAYS IN ONE WEEK OR AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN I KNOW IT WILL NOT CHANGE UNTIL I CAN SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE AND RESTART. SOME INSTANCES THE FAILURE TO ACCELERATE WOULD PERSIST BUT MOST OF THE TIME IS WOULD CORRECT ITSELF AFTER RESTARTING. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH MY WIFE AND THREE CHILDREN IN IT. I FINALLY DECIDED TO FILE A COMPLAINT AFTER I FOUND ANOTHER NISSAN PATHFINDER OWNER WHO WAS HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH HIS NISSAN PATHFINDER.
DRIVER'S SIDE RADIATOR FAN WOBBLES AND MAKES NOISE WHEN COMPRESSOR FOR DEFROSTER OR A/C IS TURNED ON.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER ON THE EXPRESSWAY WITH MY WIFE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND 2 KIDS (8 & 9) IN THE REAR SEAT. I HAD THE SUNROOF CLOSED BUT THE SHADE SCREEN OPEN. ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE WAS A LOUD BANG AND THE SUNROOF GLASS SHATTERED. THEN MYSELF, WIFE AND KIDS GOT SHOWERED FROM SOME OF THE BROKEN GLASS WHILE I WAS STILL DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENED MY WIFE AND KIDS WERE SCARED AND SCREAMING AND I QUICKLY MANAGED TO CLOSE THE SHADE SCREEN AND PULL TO THE HIGHWAY SHOULDER. AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE I HAVE LEARNED THAT THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON ISSUE WITH SUNROOFS, SPECIFICALLY NISSAN. I HAVE SINCE CALLED MY INSURANCE WHO WILL COVER THE DAMAGE AND ALSO FILED A CLAIM WITH NISSAN TO SEE IF THEY WILL COVER THE DAMAGE.
AT INTERMITTENT TIMES WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE WHEN YOU PUSH ON THE GAS, THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS NOT ONLY TO ME BUT TO OTHER PEOPLE BECAUSE IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENTS . WHEN THIS OCCURS THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WILL COME ON AND REMAIN LIT UNTIL THE CAR IS RESTARTED. ALSO THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL STAY LIGHT . IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE NO CODES COULD BE FOUND, ON 05/02/2018 IT WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER MANY CALLS TO NISSAN MOTORS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THEY GAVE ME A REFERENCE CASE # OF 30341997 ALL THIS WAS GIVEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO TRY TO FIND THE PROBLEM A SECOND TIME AFTER THEY WERE CONTACTED BY NISSAN AND MYSELF. AFTER 7 HOURS OF HAVING MY CAR FOR DIAGNOSTICS I WAS TOLD IT APPEARS TO BE A FACTORY DEFECT THAT NEEDS 3 PARTS ORDERED TO DO A WORK AROUND. TWO NEW WIRING HARNESSES AND A SWITCH THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO BYPASS BRAKE SWITCH RELAY AND REROUTE TO BODY CONTROL MODULE , I WAS TOLD THIS WOULD COST AND ADDITIONAL $500 PLUS ON TOP OF THE $121.62 I ALREADY PAID FOR THE DIAGNOSTICS I DO NOT THINK A CONSUMER SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A FACTORY DEFECT FIRSTLY, THEN HOW IS THIS WORK AROUND GOING TO AFFECT THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS? ALSO NISSAN MUST BE WELL AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM FOR THEM TO ALREADY HAVE MANUFACTURED THESE PARTS TO DO A WORK AROUND TO CORRECT IT. ARE THEY TRYING TO RISK PEOPLE LIVES TO SAVE A DOLLAR? SO IN SUMMERY I HAVE AN ACCELERATION PROBLEM THAT IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED TRACTION CONTROL ISSUE THAT I HAVE NO IDEA IF IT IS WORKING CORRECTLY OR NOT OR IF IT IS GOING TO BE DISABLED. BRAKE LIGHTS THAT STAY ON WHEN DRIVING WHEN THIS HAPPENS THAT OTHER DRIVERS CAN'T TELL IF I AM APPLYING THE BRAKES OR NOT. DON'T LIKE THE IDEA OF HAVING SUCH A NEW MODEL CAR HAVE A SAFETY ISSUE WORKAROUND DONE ON IT THAT IT WAS NOT DESIGNED FOR.
2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER, LESS THAN 40K MILES, RADIATOR COOLING FAN WOBBLES AND MAKES LOUD/GRINDING NOISE (LIKES IT'S COMING LOOSE), IN THE MIDDLE OF A LONG ROAD TRIP. POTENTIAL ENGINE OVERHEAT/SEIZURE, DANGEROUS TO OCCUPANTS IN CAR.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE INTERMITTENTLY ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENTS. VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO OVER 20 MPH FROM A COMPLETE STOP AND OR WHEN SWITCHING FROM BRAKING TO ACCELERATING. ALSO BREAK LIGHTS WERE LEFT ON EVEN IF VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. THE FAULT IS THE STOP LAMP RELAY CIRCUIT AND STOP LAMP SWITCH.
I DRIVE A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH 41K MILES AND A FEW DAYS AGO I NOTICED A LOUD NOISE WHEN THE CLIMATE SYSTEM WAS ON. I TOOK IT TO DEALER TODAY AND THEY STATED THE FAN ASSEMBLY MOTOR IS BAD. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THIS PART. THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER SO THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX MY CAR EVEN IF I WANTED THEM TO. AFTER SOME READING THIS SEEMS TO BE A PART ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL.
AFTER APPLYING BRAKES BEFORE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN, PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL YIELDED NO RESULTS, NO ACCELERATION, NO RPM MOVEMENT, PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD YIELDED NO RESULTS. ONLY AFTER STEPPING OFF OF GAS PEDAL AND REAPPLYING THE BRAKES THEN PUSHING GAS PEDAL DID THE CAR RETURN TO NORMAL OPERATIONS. THIS HAS BEEN AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. BELIEVE IT TO BE RELATED TO THE BRAKE RELAY WHICH IS WHY IT WILL NOT THROW A CODE.
THE INSIDE FRONT DRIVERS' AND PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLES REPEATEDLY BREAK AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AMONG PATHFINDER OWNERS AS WELL AS NISSAN DEALERS. WHEN BROKEN, THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE UNLESS THE DOORS ARE UNLOCKED AND THEN OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. AGAIN, WHEN BROKEN, AND THEY BREAK REPEATEDLY, THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER CANNOT EXIT THEIR OWN DOOR, WHICH SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE. WE'VE REPLACED BOTH DOOR HANDLES ONCE, AND HAVE TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER'S HANDLE A SECOND TIME. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, THE CAR WAS AT 20,000 MILES. IT'S NOW AT 70,000 MILES, AND HAS HAPPENED FOR THE THIRD TIME.
BRAKE POWER BOOSTER LEAKS AFTER ONLY 35000 MILES
FAN ASSEMBLY MOTOR NOISE I DRIVE A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH 39K MILES AND A FEW DAYS AGO I NOTICED A LOUD NOISE WHEN THE CLIMATE SYSTEM WAS ON. I TOOK IT TO DEALER TODAY AND THEY STATED THE FAN ASSEMBLY MOTOR IS BAD. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THIS PART. THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER FOR AT LEAST 3-4 WEEKS. SO THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX MY CAR EVEN IF I WANTED THEM TO. AFTER SOME READING THIS SEEMS TO BE A PART ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL.
ACCELERATING FROM STOP AND EXPERIENCE A STUDDER OR DELAYED ACCELERATION. MUST RELEASE ACCELERATOR AND THEN PRESS AGAIN TO ACCELERATE. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE AND CANNOT BE REPRODUCED ON DEMAND SO IT MAKES IT HARD TO DIAGNOSE WITH A MECHANIC.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN A 2 LANE ROAD (CHENAL PARKWAY NEAR MARGEAUX IN LITTLE ROCK, AR)AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH THE SUNROOF SUDDENLY POPPED AND SHATTERED CAUSING GLASS TO FALL IN TO THE CAR ON TO MYSELF AND MY DOG RIDING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. MY 12 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND OUR OTHER DOG WERE IN THE BACK SEAT. THIS SECTION OF THIS STREET IS SOMEWHAT HILLY. NO POTHOLES WERE IN THE ROAD. ONE OTHER VEHICLE WAS IN VIEW AT TIME OF INCIDENT. A VERY CLEAN (NO DIRT OR DEBRIS ON IT)NEWER MODEL PICKUP TRUCK WAS APPROXIMATELY 5 CAR LENGTHS IN FRONT OF US. IT WAS APPROXIMATELY 6:30 PM ON 3/13 AND SKIES WERE SUNNY AND CLEAR. WE SEARCHED THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR OF THE CAR AND THE ROAD IN THE AREA AND COULD FIND NO EXPLANATION FOR THE BREAK. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS INJURED.
THIS VEHICLE HAS 59,800 MILES ON IT, DRIVING HOME FROM WORK THE VEHICLE STARTED RIDING REALLY ROUGH AND ENGINE STARTED MAKING A KNOCKING SOUND. DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO NISSAN TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. TECHNICIAN CALLED THE NEXT MORNING TO INFORM ME IT HAS A BAD FAN MOTOR ASSEMBLY. ITS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER FOR WEEKS. NISSAN IS WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE WITH THE 2015 PATHFINDER BUT STILL MAKES THE CONSUMER PAY ALL OR PART OF THE REPAIR. ONLY AFTER COMPLAINING DID I RECEIVE AN OFFER TO PAY 70% OF THE REPAIR. ALTHOUGH I AM GRATEFUL FOR THE OFFER I STILL DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF THE COST ON A KNOWN ISSUE OF A PART BEING DEFECTIVE. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL SOON ISSUE A RECALL AND OTHERS WONT HAVE TO GO THROUGH WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT AND THE COST I WILL INCUR TO HAVE IT REPAIRED.
THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN FAILED IN MY 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER CAUSING A LOUD KNOCKING IN THE MOTOR . EVERY NISSAN DEALERSHIP AROUND COLUMBIA, SC DOES NOT HAVE THE PART IN STOCK DUE TO IT BEING ON BACKORDER. THIS IS FOR BOTH FACTORY AND AFTERMARKET. NO DEALERSHIP KNOWS WHEN NISSAN WILL EVEN PROVIDE THE FACTORY PART. WITH THE EXCESSIVE RATE OF NISSAN & ALSO INFINITY'S DROPPING DUE TO THIS SAME ISSUE AND THE DEMAND FOR THIS PART, I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED ASAP. IT IS APPARENT THAT THIS IS A FAULTY PART ON THESE MODEL VEHICLES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THIS FOR CERTAIN CAN LEAD TO LARGER PROBLEMS. THERE ARE 3 NISSAN LOCATIONS NOT FAR. PLEASE LOOK AT THE STATISTICS FOR THIS, THEIR NUMBERS WILL CONFIRM MY COMPLAINT.
MOTOR & FAN ASSEMBLY WITH SHROUD- FAN IS INOPERATIVE SINCE A PART ON FAN HAS BROKEN. VEHICLE IS ONLY WORKING ON ONE FAN. VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE WHEN FAN ASSEMBLY WOULD COME ON WHILE DRIVING.
RADIATOR FAN ASSEMBLY. MY VEHICLE IS AT APPX 41K MILES. A FEW WEEKS A LOUD METALLIC CLANKING NOISE BEGAN EMANATING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. OUR MECHANIC IDENTIFIED THE ISSUE AS THE DRIVER SIDE RADIATOR FAN (THIS MODEL HAS 2 FANS HOUSED IN ONE ASSEMBLY) HITTING THE ASSEMBLY SHROUD. THE BEARINGS HAVE MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING THE BLADE TO ROTATE OFF AXIS. IF THE BLADE SHEARS OFF OR BREAKS IT WOULD LIKELY PUNCTURE THE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY WHICH COULD LEAD TO OVERHEATING OR FIRE. NISSAN HAS NOT ADDRESSED THIS AS A RECALL ISSUE, THOUGH THERE ARE NUMEROUS REPORTS OF A SIMILAR PROBLEM IN NISSAN OWNER FORUMS. THIS WHOLE DUAL FAN ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED, BUT THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED SO OFTEN THAT THE ASSEMBLY IS NOT AVAILABLE. MINE WAS ORDERED ON FEB 9TH. THERE IS NO RELEASE DATE FOR THE PART FROM NISSAN.
HELLO, LAST NIGHT I HAD TO HELP MY SISTER WITH HER NISSAN ALTIMA 2013 BECAUSE WHEN SHE SHIFTS HER CAR FROM PARK TO REVERSE OR DRIVE THE ALTIMA STALLS AND WILL NOT DRIVE. WHEN I POPPED THE HOOD I NOTICED THAT HER BATTERY WAS IN VERY BAD SHAPE. IT WAS HEAVILY CORRODED. I CLEANED IT AND TRIED, BUT THE SAME SYMPTOMS HAPPENED. THE ALTIMA WOULD STALL. WE ENDED UP REPLACING THE BATTERY. THAT WAS HER THIRD BATTERY TO BE REPLACED. WHY IS THAT? HER ALTIMA IS ONLY 75K MILES. THIS MORNING I DECIDED TO CHECK OUR 2015 PATHFINDER TO FIND THE SAME SYMPTOMS. MY BATTERY WAS CORRODING. I DECIDED TO CLEAN THE BATTERY AND ADD A BATTERY GREASE TO MITIGATE CORROSION IN THE FUTURE. I CHECKED THE INTERNET BLOG REGARDING THIS ISSUES AND ITS EVIDENT THAT NISSAN HAS ISSUES WITH THEIR CAR BATTERIES CORRODING. CAN NISSAN EXPLAIN WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS CORRODING BATTERIES? WHAT CAN NISSAN DO TO TAKE CARE OF NISSAN OWNERS? PLEASE ADVISE. THANK YOU,
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS APPLIED, BUT FAILED TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN THREE TIMES TO A LOCAL DEALER (SANDY SANSING NISSAN, 5705 PENSACOLA BLVD, PENSACOLA, FL 32505), BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,353.
2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER SOMETIMES WILL NOT GO WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED FROM A STOPPED POSITION. 3 DIFFERENT TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME AND MY WIFE. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT HAPPENED THE LAST TIME AS WE WERE TRYING TO CROSS FOUR LANES OF TRAFFIC AT AN INTERSECTION.AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND WE TRIED TO GO IT ONLY IDLED ACROSS THE INTERSECTION WE GOT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ASAP IT'S BEEN THERE A WEEK SO FAR. VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN AUG 2015. I PURCHASED IT USED BUT CERTIFIED! PLEASE INVESTIGATE TO SEE IF THE PROBLEMS THEY HAD WITH THE 2013-2014 MODELS ARE CONTINUING. I HAVE HEARD IT MIGHT BE THE TRANSMISSION? ALL MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN PERFORMED ACCORDING TO CARFAX, INCLUDING AT 9,774 AN ENGINE POWER TRAIN COMPUTER MODULE REPROGRAMMED. CERTIFICATION WAS DONE BY NISSAN ON 8/21/2018 AND PURCHASED BY US.ON 9/2/2017. ANY HELP TO KEEP ME AND MY WIFE SAFE WILL BE APPRECIATED.
WHILE TOWING A LOAD, THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING DIS ENGAGES THE CRUISE CONTROL AND CAUSE A SAFETY HAZARD. I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY AN 18 WHEELER!!! VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS FIXED. THIS HAPPENS OFTEN!
THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN-VISOR DOESN'T STAY UP. IT HANGS DIRECTLY DOWN, CAUSING IT TO BE RIGHT IN MY LINE OF SIGHT. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO VELCRO OR TAPE IT UP BUT NOTHING WORKS FOR VERY LONG AND THE VISOR WILL FALL DOWN WHILE I AM DRIVING. THIS IS MOST DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
LOSS OF ACCELERATION AFTER STOPPING. PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR & NO RESPONSE, NO RPM CHANGE. PUMPED GAS PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES, FINALLY THE VEHICLE RESPONDED AFTER ALMOST BEING HIT. MY VEHICLE IS AN AUTOMATIC. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES & ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE AFTER BREAKING. I DO NOT HAVE MY FOOT ON THE BREAK BUT IT DOES SEEM TO RESPOND AFTER I SWITCH FROM BREAK TO GAS SEVERAL TIMES AS IF IT IS A FAULTY SWITCH.
DEFECTIVE A/C FAN ASSEMBLY
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, AT LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STUTTERS/JUDDERS FOR A FEW SECONDS. IT HAS BEEN PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE, EVEN STARTING TO SHOW UP AT MEDIUM SPEEDS, TO THE POINT WHERE WE THINK THE VEHICLE IS GOING TO STALL. IF YOU PUSH ON THE GAS IT EVENTUALLY GOES THROUGHT THE STUTTERING. SINCE NO CODES ARE INDICATING THEY WILL NOT LOOK AT THE ISSUE.
THE CAR MAKES A LOUD SHUDDERING NOISE AND OFTEN WILL NOT ACCELERATE.
WASHING MY CAR THIS PAST SUMMER,THE HEAD LAMP LENSE COVERS SHATTERED. THE LENSES ARE STILL IN TACK . THE LIGHT BEAMS ARE DISTORTED,THE HEADLAMPS ARE NOT AS BRIGHT. I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A OIL CHANGE AND THE DEALER HANDED ME A SERVICE BULLETIN FROM NISSAN [REFERNCE NTB17-045,CLASSIFICATION EL17-015]. I CONTACKED NISSAN TO NO AVAIL,THE DEALERSHIP OFFERED TO REPLACE LENSES AT MY EXPENSE.I DONT FEEL THIS IS RIGHT! VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION.
UNSAFE CONDITION, THIS IS THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE! NISSAN WILL NOT TAKE ANY ACTION. DISREGARDING COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB. THE CAR DROPS OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND LOOSES UP TO 20MPH. WE FEEL UNSAFE WHEN TOWING A LOAD! THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW. NISSAN MADE SOME CHANGES AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING BUT IT STILL IS UNSAFE.
WHILE TOWING UNDER THE CAPACITY OF THE VEHICLE TOW SPECIFICATION, THE VEHICLE DROPPED OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL (SET AT 65 MPH). THIS CAUSED AN UNEXPECTED SLOWDOWN OF ALMOST 20 MPH AND MY FAMILY AND I FEARED GETTING HIT AT THAT SPEED (45 IN A 65 WHEN PEOPLE ARE DRIVING AT 75 OR MORE). NISSAN TECHNICIANS WITNESSED THIS HAPPEN.
EVERY TIME I TRY DRIVE FROM STOP CAR KEEEP JERKING FOR FEW MINUTES
REAR BRAKE PADS GONE IN 1.5 YEARS IS UNHEARD OF. ONLY 36,000 MILES ON THIS CAR. TIRES WERE BALD AFTER ONE YEAR. SUCH INFERIOR PRODUCTS GOING INTO A $40K CAR
POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET AND HIGHWAY. DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT CITED LOOSE WIRING AS THE CAUSE. THIRD OCCURRENCE WITHIN 2 YEARS.
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (OR EQUIVALENT WITH WIND), THE HOOD SHAKES LIKE IT IS BEING LIFTED BY THE WIND. IT SEEMS TO SHAKE/VIBRATE BETWEEN THE LATCH AND THE BUMPERS. I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO A DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS AND THEY ARE INFORMED ME THIS IS "NORMAL" AND THEY HAVE ADJUSTED THE LATCH AND BUMPERS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. THIS HAS NOT SOLVED THE SHAKING AND I AM WORRIED THAT OVER TIME THE LATCH WILL BREAK AND THE HOOD WILL OPEN. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THIS IS LIKELY VERY DANGEROUS.
WARNING LIGHT APPEARED - DEALER INDICATED NEEDED NEW TRANSMISSION UNDER WARRANTY HAS BEEN WITH DEALER FOR SEVEN WORKING DAYS AND THEY ARE HAVING DIFFICULTY REPAIRING THE ISSUE DEALER INDICATED OTHER PATHFINDERS HAVE SAME PROBLEM. LIGHT APPEARED WHEN I TURNED ON VEHICLE -
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE ANOTHER CAR CLIPPED THE BACK BUMPER OF MY PATHFINDER GOING TROUGH AN INTERSECTION. IT WAS ENOUGH TO DEPLOY MY CURTAIN AIRBAGS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND THE SEAT AIR BAG IN THE DRIVERS SEAT, BUT DID MINOR DAMAGE TO THE BACK BUMPER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. BUT, AFTER EVERYONE WAS OUT OF MY PATHFINDER, A POLICE OFFICER NOTICED A FIRE INSIDE THE PATHFINDER. IT WAS LOCATED ON THE PANEL BETWEEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND THE BACK DOOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. I DON'T HAVE PICTURES (I DIDN'T THINK TO TAKE ANY) AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS HANDLING THE POLICE REPORT AND ALL THE DETAILS, BUT THE OFFICER ASKED ME TO REPORT THIS ISSUE TO YOU SO I AM.
HAD OUR AIRBAG RECALL FIXED LAST YEAR BUT THE LIGHT CONTINUES TO STAY ON WHEN SOMEONE SITS IN THE SEAT. THIS HAPPENS PERIODICALLY. RECALL FIXED WALLACE STUART. FLORIDA.

2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER ENVOLVED IN UNKNOWN ACCIDENT AIR BAG DEPLOYED, NISSAN REFUSES TO RESPOND , NUMERIOUS RECALLS, BELIEF CONCUSION OCCURRED NEED ASSISTANCE, STOPED PAYMENTS, COLLECTION HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH ME , VIN ON PATHFINDER DOESN'T MATCH VEH, ASKED THEM ALSO TO PROVIDE DATE OF MFG NOT RECIEVED
WHEN STARTING FROM STOP ( AT A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT) THE VEHICLE PERIODICALLY WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWO TIMES NOW WITH NO CHANGE. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS IN THEY DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND THOUGHT THAT WOULD CORRECT IT, IT DID NOT. THE SECOND TIME THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS IN 2WD AND IT WAS WET OUT. IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN WITH THE VEHICLE IN AUTO AND THE GROUND BONE DRY. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND STARTED A CASE. I WAS TOLD TO GET A SECOND OPINION. THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE BECAUSE WHEN PULLING INTO A LANE OF TRAFFIC YOU MAY NOT MOVE FOR A FEW SECONDS ANS ON COMING TRAFFIC MAY NOT STOP.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON THE ROADWAY (SPEED - 40 M.P.H.), THE HOOD OPENED AND OBSTRUCTED MY VIEW. BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY STOP THE VEHICLE AND RE-SECURE THE HOOD. THE DAMAGE TO THE FENDERS WAS EXTENSIVE AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACEDD, AS WELL AS THE HOOD LATCH MECHANISM. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT COMPLETED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO REED NISSAN (3776 W COLONIAL DR, ORLANDO, FL 32808), WHO SAID THE LATCH MECHANISM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, BUT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY.

POSSIBLY RELATED TO THE PAST YEAR MODELS NISSAN CVT ISSUES. 2015 PATHFINDER WITH LESS THAN 10K MILES UNDER 2 YEARS OLD TRANSMISSION FAILURE. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY 3 KIDS (4 YEAR, 2 YEAR, AND 1 MONTH OLD) WHEN THE VEHICLE STOP ACCELERATING. SHE WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER SAFETY. WHEN SHE TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN IT WAS IN DRIVE MODE OR LOW GEAR. THE VEHICLE HOWEVER DID MOVE IN REVERSE. MY WHOLE FAMILY WAS STUCK ON THE SIDE OF A FAST MOVING HIGHWAY, WITHOUT ME, UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO LEAVE WORK, AN HOUR AWAY, TO GET TO THEIR LOCATION AND SAFETY GET ALL THE KIDS AND MY WIFE TO A SAFER LOCATION. TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE BOUGHT THE CAR AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE ISSUES MAY STEM FROM THE SAME ISSUE IN PREVIOUS MODEL PATHFINDERS AND OTHER VEHICLE MODELS WITH NISSAN'S CVT IN THEM. LESS THAN 10K MILES ON A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. UNDER 2 YEARS IN AGE AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILS. MAKES ME RETHINK IF I WANT TO KEEP THE VEHICLE KNOWING MY FAMILY WILL MAINLY BE DRIVING IN IT WITHOUT ME THERE. *TR

VEHICLE PURCHASED NEW 3/2016, LESS THAN 15,000 MILES (HWY). 12/1/2016 WHILE DRIVING ON HWY, REAR PASSENGER TIRE SIDEWALL SHREDDED AND MACERATED. SINCE BUYING CAR, HAVE HAD FREQUENT "LOW PRESSURE" READINGS ON ALL TIRES RANDOMLY WITHOUT ANY DEFINITE CAUSE THAT MECHANICS NOTED (TIRES WERE NOT REMOVED). THE 1 TIRE WAS REPLACED AT OUR EXPENSE. THE CAR DEALERSHIP (NISSAN) AND TIRE MANUFACTURER (CONTINENTAL) EACH DEFER RESPONSIBILITY TO OTHER. THERE ARE MULTIPLE SIMILAR STORIES EASILY FOUND ONLINE WITH THESE TIRES. WHILE THIS PARTICULAR ONE APPARENTLY DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL, PERHAPS IT SHOULD BEFORE SOMEONE DIES. CONTINENTAL CROSSCONTACT LX SPORT *TR
WHILE TAKING OFF FROM 0-20MPH THE CAR WILL HESITATE AND JERK. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN SERVICE DEPT. BACK IN MAY 2016 AND THEY COULD NOT FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH CAR. NOW IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY AND WE TOOK IT BACK ON 11/18/16 AND THE SERVICE DEPT. SAID THEY STILL CAN'T FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE BECAUSE THERE ARE NOT CHECK ENGINE CODE POPPING UP, SO THEY NEEDED PERMISSION TO HAVE A SERVICE TECH TAKE IT HOME TO SEE IF HE CAN SEE WHAT WE ARE EXPERIENCING AND WILL FOLLOW UP WITH US TOMORROW. I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM STARTED BACK IN EARLY 2015 WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR, BUT IT WOULD ONLY HAPPEN SO RARELY THAT I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT UNTIL MY WIFE WHO DRIVES IT EVERY DAY BROUGHT IT UP TO MY ATTENTION.
I HAVE RECEIVED 2 NOTICES CONCERNING THE NHTSA RECALL 16V-244. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN OF GADSDEN IN GADSDEN, AL SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY TELL ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART IN STOCK TO FIX MY VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE HOME FROM WORK IT STARTED JERKING AND THEN IT JUST STOPPED. AND IT WON'T START BACK UP
THIS PERTAINS TO 16V244000... WITH THE EXCEPTION OF STARTING THE VEHICLE, I HAD NEVER SEEN THIS LIGHT COME ON UNTIL RECENTLY. MY PATHFINDER IS LARGELY USED TO MOVE MY CHILDREN (BOTH UNDER THE AGE OF 4) TO AND FROM ACTIVITIES AND RUN ERRANDS. 90% OF THE TIME I AM DRIVING THERE IS NO ONE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. MY WIFE RIDES UPFRONT FOR FAMILY ROAD TRIPS AND ON THE WEEKENDS. IT WAS JUST RECENTLY THAT THE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE SHE WAS IN THE SEAT ALERTING ME TO THE FAULTY SENSOR. I CALLED MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THAT THEY DID HAVE A SOLUTION TO THIS RECALL AND COULD FIX THE ISSUE THAT WEEK. I TOOK THE CAR AND WAITED PATIENTLY. UPON EXITING THE SERVICE CENTER AND GETTING READY TO TURN ONTO A MAJOR HIGHWAY I NOTICED THAT THE LIGHT WAS ON... FIGURING SOMEONE HAD FORGOTTEN TO RESET SOMETHING I TURNED AROUND AND RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THERE I WAS ADVISED THAT, FROM NOW ON, MY PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ON UNLESS SOMEONE OVER 50LBS WAS SEATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I WAS SHOCKED AND COMPLAINED TO THE SERVICE TECH BUT WAS INFORMED THAT NISSAN HAD DECIDED THAT CARS WITH THIS ISSUE WOULD HAVE A PERMANENTLY DISENGAGED PASSENGER AIRBAG IF THE SEAT WAS NOT OCCUPIED. I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT, RATHER THAN FIXING THIS ISSUE CORRECTLY WITH THE SAME BUT FUNCTIONING OEM PARTS, NISSAN HAS DECIDED TO IMPLEMENT A RECALL FIX THAT SAVES THEM TIME AND MONEY. I TRIED GETTING ACCUSTOMED TO THIS WARNING LIGHT BUT IT IS THE SAME COLOR AS MY BLIND SPOT WARNING ALERTS SO SEEING IT MY PERIPHERAL VISION IS A CONSTANT DISTRACTION. I BELIEVE THAT THE FIX OFFERED WILL ULTIMATELY MAKE DRIVERS AMBIVALENT TO THE BLIND SPOT SYSTEM AND LEAD TO A HIGHER COLLISION RATE. *TR

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN MAY REGARDING THE OCS THAT AFFECTS THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN JUNE AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE NOT IN YET FOR REPLACEMENT. I WENT AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER AND WAS THEN TOLD THAT THE PARTS ARE ON MANUFACTURER RESTRICTION AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLACE/REPAIR. IT HAS BEEN 5 MONTHS SINCE RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX THE ISSUE. AIRBAGS ARE A VERY BIG DEAL AND WANT TO KNOW HOW CAN I GET THIS FIXED ASAP. *TR

TAKATA RECALL YOU PREVIOUS WEBPAGE MENTIONS THE MANUFACTURER ACQUIRING THE PARTS TO REPAIR IN A TIMELY MANNER. MY QUESTION IS, WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER A TIMELY MANNER? I RECEIVED MY RECALL NOTICE APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS OR MORE AGO, BUT I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING ELSE REGARDING NISSAN REPAIRING THE FAULTY AIRBAGS. I'M GETTING MORE AND MORE CONCERNED DAILY ABOUT MY FAMILY'S OR MY SAFETY. WHEN IS NISSAN GOING TO GET OFF THEIR BEHINDS AND REPAIR OR REPLACE THE FAULTY AIRBAGS?

I HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY AIR BAG SENSOR EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE WHEN I HAD A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT THE AIR BAG WOULD DEACTIVATE. ORIGINALLY THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT MY PURSE MUST BE TO HEAVY AND IS KNOCKING OUT THE CALIBRATION. THE SECOND TIME I GOT A LESSON ON HOW TO SIT IN THE SEAT PROPERLY. FINALLY, NISSAN ADMITTED THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND ANNOUNCED THE RECALL. SINCE IT WAS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY THE DEALER PUT ME ON THE TOP OF THE LIST TO CALL WHEN THEY RECEIVED THE PARTS. SATURDAY I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO BRING THE CAR IN FOR THE AIR BAG OCS SENSOR RECALL REPAIR. WHEN I PICKED THE CAR UP AFTER THE SERVICE I NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STAYED ON CONTINUOUSLY. ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL "AFTER PLACING THE IGNITION SWITCH IN THE ON POSITION, THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATES. THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WILL TURN OFF AFTER ABOUT 7 SECONDS IF THE SYSTEM IS OPERATIONAL". I WENT BACK INSIDE AND MENTIONED IT TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AND WAS TOLD THAT WAS THE FIX THAT NISSAN IMPLEMENTED. THE WARNING LIGHT IS NOW ON CONSTANTLY UNLESS SOMEONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT AND GOES AGAINST EVERYTHING IN THE NISSAN MANUAL. ADDITIONALLY, HAVING A WARNING LIGHT ON AT NIGHT IN THE VEHICLE IS A DISTRACTION.
MY WIFE AND I LEFT OUR HOME AND DROVE OUR NISSAN PATHFINDER INTO THE CITY ON 27TH STREET GOING INTO MILWAUKEE, AND OUR SUN ROOF EXPLODED, SHOWING GLASS SHARDS DOWN ON US WITH NO WARNING, NO ROCKS, OR NO DEBRIS ON THE ROAD TO BE SEEN ANYWHERE. OUR DEALER SAYS CALL YOUR INSURANCE. HOWEVER AFTER READING SEVERAL FORUMS, I SEE THE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER DRIVERS AND WANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT. WHEN WE WENT TO PICK UP THE CAR, IT STILL HAD SHARDS OF GLASS SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE INTERIOR AND GLASS WAS STILL LAYING ON THE EXTERIOR TOP OF THE CAR. WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE DEALER AND OUR INSURANCE COMPANY ON THEIR HANDLING OF THE INCIDENT.
RE ALL IS NOT FIXED IN MY CAR NISSAN NEVER FIX THIS RECALL

PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT GOES ON ALL THE TIME WHEN A PASSENGER IN SITTING THERE. WENT TO NISSAN AND FIRST TIME SAID IT WAS MY BLADDER AND ADJUSTED IT. CALLED NISSAN HOTLINE BECAUSE RECALL SAID TO STOP DRIVING THE CAR AND NISSAN SAID NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT THAT THERE WAS NO FIX FOR IT YET AND WOULD NOTIFY US WHEN THERE WAS A FIX.BEEN DOING THIS SINCE IT WAS NEW AND KNOW HAVE BEEN DOING IT ALMOST DAILY ON ALL TYPES OF ROADS AND ALL SPEEDS.

VEHICLE START BUTTON IS IN A UNSAFE LOCATION. KNEE KEEPS HITTING WHILE DRIVING AND CAR TURNS OFF. IT NEEDS A COVER OR SMARTER SWITCH SO THAT A ACCIDENTAL TOUCH CANT SHUT THE CAR OFF WHILE DRIVING. IT'S A SEVERE HAZARD!!!!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHEN AN OCCUPANT WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THE PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS) AND THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR WERE AVAILABLE. WHILE DRIVING OUR PATHFINDER IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, I'VE STARTED TO NOTICE AND FEEL A JUDDERING & JERKING MOTION COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION/POWERTRAIN EVERY TIME I DEPRESS OR PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL AT BETWEEN SPEEDS OF 15 TO 40 MPH. I PLAN TO REPORT THIS TO NISSAN ALONG WITH A COUPLE MORE ISSUES LIKE THE CRACKLING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT SUSPENSION USUALLY AFTER REVERSING BACK OUT OF A DRIVEWAY THEN MOVING FORWARD WHILE SLIGHTLY TURNING THE WHEEL BACK TO A STRAIGHT POSITION. COULD BE A BEARING ISSUE, RACKING PINION OR POSSIBLY THE BRAKE ISSUES THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I WILL ALSO REPORT THE CONSTANT ANNOUNCE OF A CRACKLING SOUND COMING FROM THE WOOD PANELING AROUND STEREO AND AIR CONDITION CONTROLS. LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE SCARY & VISIBLE SHAKING OF THE FRONT HOOD WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF OVER 80MPH. THIS VIOLENTLY SHAKING FROM THE HOOD WILL CERTAINLY LET YOU KNOW THAT IF YOU GO ANY FASTER CHANCES ARE THE HOOD WILL FLY OFF OR CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE OR POSSIBLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THERE IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT THIS IS ISSUE IS CLEARLY AN AERO DYNAMIC FLAW. HOW CAN THEY NOT HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THIS POSSIBLE SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE ?
THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL INCIDENTS WHERE A FULL SIZE ADULT PASSENGER HAS BEEN RIDING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND THE AIRBAG SENSOR DOES NOT DETECT THE ADULT AND TURNS OFF THE AIRBAG. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHER THE VEHICLE IS PARKED AND WHEN THE PASSENGER GETS IN, BEFORE THE CAR IS STARTED, ONCE THE CAR IS STARTED, THE AIRBAG IS ALREADY OFF BEFORE WE LEAVE. OTHER TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING THE AIR BAG WILL JUST TURN OFF. SOMETHING IS REMAINS ON FOR THE WHOLE TRIP UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF ONCE WE REACH OUR DESTINATION, OTHER TIMES THE LIGHT WILL TURN OFF AND THE AIRBAG TURNS BACK ON BEFORE WE ARRIVE AT OUR DESTINATION. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND WAS TOLD, YEA, THEY ARE REAL SENSITIVE AND IF THE LIGHT IS ACTIVATED THE AIR BAG IS TURNED OFF AND WILL NOT WORK. BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN TODAY AND INSISTED THEY LOOK AT IT. SAID THEY WOULD DO A ZERO RESET ON THE SYSTEM AND SEE IF THAT WILL FIX IT. MOST RECENT INCIDENT WAS APRIL 17, 2016. HAVE MORE PHOTOS FROM PAST INCIDENTS AS WELL.
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JULY, 2015. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON SEVERAL TIMES WHILE A PASSENGER WAS IN THE FRONT SEAT SHORTLY AFTER I GOT THE CAR. DURING MY FIRST ROUTINE SERVICE APPOINTMENT ON FEB. 1, 2016 I MENTIONED IT TO THE SERVICE TECH AND THEY CHECKED BUT COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THEY PERFORMED A ZERO RESET AT THAT TIME. THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN ON 3/11, 4/9, AND 4/30 WHILE A PASSENGER OF PROPER WEIGHT AND HEIGHT WAS SEATING IN THE SEAT. ADDITIONALLY, ON 4/20 THE SEAT BELT INDICATOR LIGHT WAS LIT IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO PASSENGER IN THE CAR AND THE DRIVER WAS BUCKLED UP. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SERVICE STATION TODAY, 5/7, FOR THESE PROBLEMS. THEY STATED THAT THERE ARE NO OPEN RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE AND THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS NOW THE SECOND TIME MY CAR HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND NOTHING WAS FOUND TO BE WRONG. I NOW DRIVE WITH MY CELLPHONE NEXT TO ME AND TAKE PICTURES EVERY TIME THIS OCCURS.
THE AIRBAG SENSOR FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. THERE CAN BE A LARGE ADULT IN THE SEAT, AND THE SENSOR SHOWS THE AIRBAG OFF. WE BOUGHT THE CAR NEW, AS A DEMO, WITH APPROXIMATELY 5,000 MILES ON IT. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONE TIME.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON FEBRUARY 16, 2016, TRAVELING SOUTH WEST A STATE ROAD, AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE SUNROOF SHATTERED INTO MANY PIECES. THE GLASS SHARDS WERE NOT CONTAINED AND ENTERED THE VEHICLE, COLLAPSING ON BOTH DRIVER AND OCCUPANTS. THE DRIVER WAS TEMPORALLY INCAPACITATED AS THE GLASS FELL ON HER HEAD AND FACE. WHEN I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, THEY STATED STATED THAT THE SUNROOF OPERATED AS DESIGNED.
I WORKED WITH NISSAN LAST YEAR TO RESOLVE AN ISSUE THAT I HAD WITH A PATHFINDER AIRBAG ISSUE (NISSAN CASE 19556126). 'THE ORIGINAL VEHICLE WAS REPLACED AND I'VE HAD THE BAD LUCK OF GETTING A 2015 PATHFINDER WITH THE SAME ISSUE. 'I'VE HAD THIS VEHICLE SINCE LATE NOVEMBER OF 2015, IT HAS APPROX. 3700 MILES ON IT AND IS ALREADY EXHIBITING ISSUES WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. 'IT HAS BEEN IN 3 TIMES WITH DOCUMENT (VIDEOS) INSTANCES WHERE THE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT IS ON, WHILE DRIVING WITH A PERSON WEIGHING MORE THAN 100LBS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THESE ARE INTERMITTENT ISSUES. ONE TIME I DROVE WITH THE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT ON FROM CLEVELAND TO RICHFIELD 'APPROX. 30 MILES. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES THAT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IF IT IS NOT FIXED. 'IT STILL IS NOT RESOLVED. 'JOEL TANNER, HAS BEEN MY CONTACT AT AIRPORT NISSAN (440-884-7800) WHERE THE CAR CAME FROM AND HAS BEEN SERVICED. HE STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAG. HOWEVER, I HAVE CLEARLY DOCUMENTED THE ISSUE WITH VIDEOS. 'DIKOTA, AT NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS (615- 725-7590) TALKED WITH ME AND STATED THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. 'THE VEHICLE HAS ALSO BEEN IN FOR ENGINE LIGHT ISSUES WHICH FOR THE TIME HAVE BEEN RESOLVED. 'IT IS ALSO EXHIBITING AN ISSUE WITH THE GPS WHERE ADDRESSES CAN'T BE FOUND WITH THE VEHICLE'S GPS BUT MY IPHONE CAN. I HAVE VIDEOS THAT CAN BE SENT BUT YOUR WEBSITE DOESN'T ACCEPT THEM - PLEASE PROVIDE A WAY TO SEND THEM TO YOU.
IT STARTED WITH THE DREADED HESITATING/JERKING THING I HAVE READ ABOUT NISSAN CVT TRANNYS. THE DEALERSHIP STATED IT WAS A VALVE INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION, AND NOT THE TRANNY ITSELF. HOW IS A VALVE INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION NOT BE A PART OF THE TRANSMISSION?!?! THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE IT AND IT WILL TAKE APPROXIMATELY 3 DAYS. THEY SAID IF IT MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. IF AFTER REPAIR, IT CONTINUES, THEY WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION. I THOUGHT NISSAN ALREADY FIXED THIS CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUE?
WE WERE DRIVING AT 35 MILES/HR ON A CITY STREET AND SUDDENLY OUR SUNROOF EXPLODED. WE HEARD A LOUD SOUND LIKE A BOMB WENT OFF AND WE WERE IN SHOCK AND SUDDENLY WE SAW GLASS SHATTERED ALL OVER ME MY SEATS AND WE WERE IN AWE. MY DAUGHTER AND WIFE WERE IN THE BACK AS WELL. WE HAD EYEWITNESS AS WELL WHO SAW THIS AND TURNED AROUND AND CAME BACK AND ASKED US WE WERE OK. THEN I CALLED THE SHERIFF AND THEY DOCUMENTED THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A VERY SCARY SITUATION AND I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY GAVE ME A LOANER AND SAID WE WILL LOOK INTO THIS BY CONTACTING NISSAN ON MONDAY. WE AS A FAMILY ARE VERY SCARED TO GET BACK IN THE CAR.
OUR 2015 PATHFINDER HAS AN ISSUE WHERE WHEN THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED WITH AN ADULT PASSENGER, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WILL NOT ACTIVATE. (INDICATOR LIGHT FOR PASS AIRBAG OFF IS ILLUMINATED) SOMETIMES IT WILL ACTIVATE AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES OF DRIVING, OTHER TIMES IT WILL NOT ACTIVATE UNTIL THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. ALSO, SOMETIMES IF THE SEAT IS NOT OCCUPIED, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WILL BE ACTIVATED. WE NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP OF THE ISSUE DURING A SERVICE IN LATE 2015 AND WE WERE TOLD THAT THE PASSENGER SHOULD WAIT TO ENTER THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS STARTED. THERE WASN'T ANY CHANGE REGARDLESS OF HOW WE ENTERED THE VEHICLE. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS IN EARLY 2016 AND THEY DIDN'T FIND ANY DIAGNOSTIC ISSUES. THEY "RESET" THE PASSENGER SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. TODAY WE DROVE THE VEHICLE AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT ACTIVATE AGAIN WITH A PASSENGER OCCUPYING THE SEAT. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF THE AIR BAG DOES NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AN ADULT PASSENGER WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE AIR BAG SENSOR WAS RESET HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V138000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
HAVE A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER WHERE THE "AIRBAG IS OFF" PASSENGER LIGHT KEEPS COMING ONE WHEN AN ADULT PASSENGER WEIGHING MORE THAN 150 LBS IS PROPERLY SEATED WEARING THE SEATBELT PROPERLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES (10+ TIMES). I HAVE HAD IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER TWICE WITH THE MOST RECENT DATE BEING FEBRUARY 2, 2016 FOR THIS ISSUE. NISSAN DEALER RUNS TESTS BUT IS UNABLE TO FIND ISSUE. FILED COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN ON FEBRUARY 4TH AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY TALKED TO THE DEALER AND THERE IS NO PROBLEM. I HAVE IT ON VIDEO WHERE I AM SITTING PROPERLY IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WITH SEATBELT PROPERLY ON WITH THE CAR BEING DRIVEN DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AND THE "AIRBAG IS OFF" LIGHT IS ON. IT IS NOW A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I WOULD HATE TO GET IN AN ACCIDENT WITH ANYONE SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.
WHEN TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 55PMH. THE HOOD BEGINS TO SHAKE/FLUTTER AD IT SEEMS THE HOOD IS ABOUT TO OPEN. OTHER FRIENDS/RELATIVES WITH THE SAME VEHICLE MADE IN 2015 OR 2014 HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. THE DEALER STATE DIT NEEDS TO BE ADJUSTED BUT AFTER DOING SO, THE SAME OCCURS. I HAVE HAD TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TOT HE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NO POSITIVE RESULT. FLORIDA TURNPIKE IS A 70 MPH SPEED LIMIT AND IT IS VERY SCARY AS THE HOOD SHAKE EVEN MORE AT THAT SPEED.
PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT (WHICH INDICATES AIR BAG IS OFF AND WILL NOT DEPLOY) REMAINS ON (>50% OF THE TIME) WHEN THERE IS AN ADULT SEATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. TOOK VEHICLE INTO THE NISSAN FOX DEALERSHIP (GRAND RAPIDS, MI) THIS MORNING FOR SERVICE. BEFORE ASSESSING, THEY TOLD ME THEY PROBABLY WON'T FIND ANYTHING AND THAT I SHOULD RELY ON MY SEAT BELT IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. THIS FIRST OCCURRED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO.
JUDDER IS FOUND BETWEEN 20-25 MILES FOR MORE THAN 5 SECOND WHEN ACCELERATING SMOOTHLY. THE MECHANIC RECORDED THE JUDDER AND SENT IT TO THE ENGINEER. THE ENGINEER AT CORPORATE NISSAN TOLD US THAT IT IS A NORMAL THING BUT ANY CAR SHOULDN'T HAVE A JUDDER(ESPECIALLY 2015 NEWEST MODEL). A JUDDER ALSO SHOWS IN THE HIGH SPEED, BUT NOT AS MUCH AS SLOW SLEEP. A JUDDER ALSO APPEARS WHEN THE CAR SLOWS DOWN TO A STOP. I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IT UP FOR THEM TO FIX THE ISSUE. IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE WHEN THERE IS A RECORD OF JUDDER BUT WAIT UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS TO THE CAR.
VEHICLE WAS TAKEN INTO SHOP BECAUSE OF SHUDDER IN TRANSMISSION AND HESITATION FROM STOP WHEN APPLYING ACCELERATOR. THE NISSAN DEALER INSTALLED A NEW VALVE BODY IN THE TRANSMISSION WHICH SEEMED TO STOP THE SHUDDER UNTIL TODAY WHEN IT HAS RETURNED. THE HESITATION FROM STOP PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED AND I RETURNED THE PATHFINDER A SECOND TIME TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BUT SINCE IT DID NOT THROW A CODE AND COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED IT WAS NOT FIXED. THE HESITATION PROBLEM IS AN ITERMITTENT PROBLEM BUT WHEN IT HAPPENS THE VEHICLE DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD WHEN THE GAS IS FIRST APPLIED FOR A SECOND OR TWO. I HAVE ALMOST HAD TWO ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE WHEN GAS APPLIED. THE SHUDDER PROBLEM AS RETURNED AND CAN BE FELT AT AROUND 40MPH.
CVT TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AT LOW SPEED (20-40 MPH) WITH LIGHT THROTTLE APPLICATION. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN EXPERIENCED SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 9/10/2015
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH DOWN AN INCLINE, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. EXCESSIVE FORCE WAS APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. ONLY THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED DUE TO THE FAILURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V012000 (SERVICE BRAKES). THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT AN INVESTIGATOR WOULD BE ASSIGNED TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45....UPDATED 03/17/16 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BUT, NOT REPAIRED.*JS
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS ILLUMINATED WHEN A ADULT IS SITTING IN THE SEAT WITH THEIR SEATBELT ON. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE SERVICE CENTER AT NISSAN AND THEY TOLD ME THE COMPUTER SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO! I HAVE NUMEROUS VIDEOS OF THE SEAT OCCUPIED AND THE LIGHT ON!
PURCHASED A 2015 PATHFINDER SL IN MAY 2015 TO REPLACE THE 2014 PATHFINDER SL WE HAD. THE DEALER RETURNED THE 2014 FOR US FOR THE SAME ISSUE WE'RE EXPERIENCING WITH THE 2015. IN LATE JUNE THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG WOULD NOT ENGAGE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES IF SOMEONE WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT BEFORE THE CAR WOULD START. OUR RESOLUTION WAS TO WAIT TO SIT IN THE SEAT UNTIL THE CAR WAS STARTED. THIS WORKED UNTIL THE END OF JULY WHEN THE AIR BAG WOULD DISENGAGE WITH A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. WE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER WHO FOUND A CODE, CLEARED IT AND WAS TOLD IT WAS IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION. THE PROBLEM PERSISTED WITH MANY VIDEOS TO SHOW THE ISSUE. BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER IN AUGUST. DEALER COULD NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE BUT BECAUSE WE HAD VIDEOS, UNDERSTOOD THERE WAS A REAL ISSUE AND PERFORMED A "ZERO POINT OCS REPROGRAM" AND SERVICE TECH HOPED IT WOULD "DO THE TRICK". IT DIDN'T AND THE PROBLEM ESCALATED. BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER IN SEPTEMBER AND CAR IS STILL THERE. DEALERSHIP AGAIN COULD NOT "RECREATE" THE ISSUE AND WANTED TO GIVE US THE CAR BACK. WE REFUSED BECAUSE IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE. DEALER FINALLY AGREED TO GET NISSAN INVOLVED. STILL WAITING TO HEAR BACK. WE ALSO CALLED NISSAN AND OPENED A CASE FILE AND WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM NISSAN TOO.
PURCHASED IN MAY 2015. WITHIN A MONTH OF OWNERSHIP, AIRBAG LIGHT ON PASSENGER SIDE WOULD NOT ENGAGE INTERMITTENTLY IF PASSENGER WAS SEATED IN CAR BEFORE STARTED. I JUST HAD THE PASSENGER WAIT UNTIL CAR WAS STARTED TO SIT. IN JULY THE AIRBAG LIGHT BEGAN TO ILLUMINATE WHILE DRIVING INTERMITTENTLY WITH PASSENGER IN SEAT. SERVICED IT AT THE DEALERSHIP IN THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST AND THEY SAID THEY FOUND A CODE AND CLEARED IT. PROBLEM SHOULD BE RESOLVED. IT HAPPENED AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES. SERVICED IT AT THE DEALER AGAIN IN JULY. MECHANIC PERFORMED A ZERO POINT OCS REPROGRAM. AGAIN I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE RESOLVED. PROBLEM CONTINUED. CHECKED IT IN FOR SERVICE IN OCTOBER. DEALER TRYING TO SAY THE PERSON IN THE SEAT IS TOO LIGHT. IT'S HAPPENED TO ADULTS THAT WEIGH OVER 150 AND MANY TIMES TO MY DAUGHTER WHO WEIGHS AT LEAST 110. THIS SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM ANYWAY SINCE THE SERVICE TECH TOLD ME THE MINIMUM WEIGHT IS 70 POUNDS FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. DEALER WANTS TO GIVE US THE CAR BACK. WE REFUSED BECAUSE IT'S NOT SAFE. WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THE DEALER. THIS SAME DEALERSHIP TOOK BACK OUR 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE TOO! I HAVE MANY VIDEOS OF THE PROBLEM.
AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE FROM AUTOMATION NISSAN DALLAS THE TRANSMISSION , CVT, FAILED AT 2300 MILES. THERE WAS NO HEAVY USE ON THE TRANSMISSION. WE HAVE NOT EVEN TOWED WITH IT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND THE DEALER REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING BEYOND FIX THIS LEMON. PICKED UP VEHICLE, 9/17/15 AND ON THE MORNING OF 9/18/15 THE FUEL LIGHT CAME ON. WE DID NOT FUEL THE VEHICLE OR OPEN THE FUEL CAP 9/18/15 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE IS BACK AT THE DEALER.
I HAD SLOWED TO ENTER A PARKING LOT AND AS I TURNED I HEARD WHAT I THOUGHT WAS SOMETHING RATTLING IN THE BACK STORAGE AREA. MY WIFE TURNED TO SEE WHAT IT WAS AND SAW THAT THE ENTIRE UPPER REAR GLASS MOON ROOF HAD SHATTERED INTO SMALL PIECES. I STOPPED AND GOT OUT TO LOOK AT IT AND THE FRONT PORTION LOOKED AS IF PRESSURE HAD PUSHED THE GLASS UP FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. AROUND THE AREA THAT APPEARED TO HAVE HAD THE MOST PRESSURE, THE GLASS HAD A HOLE WITH SMALL PIECES FALLING INTO THE REAR PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE REST OF THE MOON ROOF WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED BUT STAYED INTACT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE MOON ROOF. THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY AND THE DISTRICT MANAGER HAD NEVER HEARD OF SUCH AN INCIDENT, BUT REPLACED THE GLASS ROOF. I DIDN'T REALIZE OTHER CARS WERE HAVING THIS ISSUE UNTIL I SAW A REPORT ON TV, SO I WANTED TO ADD MY EXPERIENCE TO THE ISSUE.
WE WERE DRIVING THE PATHFINDER AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. THERE WAS A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. THE PASSENGER'S WEIGHT IS 165 POUNDS AND APPROXIMATELY 5'6" TALL. THE LIGHT REMAINED ON FOR APPROXIMATELY4 MINUTES AND ONLY WENT OFF WHEN THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF. WHEN THE CAR WAS RESTARTED THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS OFF - AS IT SHOULD BE. THIS IS THE SECOND NISSAN PATHFINDER THAT HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM. OUR 2013 PATHFINDER WAS RE-PURCHASED BY NISSAN FOR THIS EXACT REASON....UPDATED 12/07/15 *BF *CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE KEYLESS ON/OFF IGNITION BUTTON AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 700.
POTENTIALLY FAULTY BRAKE SYSTEM OR DOWNSHIFT CVT OR SIMULATED GEARSHIFT SYSTEM. DETAILS: WHEN DRIVING IN SLOW MOVING TRAFFIC WITH THE BRAKES PARTIALLY APPLIED, THE VEHICLE TENDS TO MOMENTARILY ACCELERATE AND SPEED UP. CONCURRENTLY THE RESISTANCE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TENDS TO DECREASE, ALONG WITH A VISIBLE DOWN-AND-THEN-BACK-UP JUMPING OF RPM NEEDLE. THE BRAKE PEDAL NEEDS TO BE KEPT PRESSED TO ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP (NEW VEHICLE, WITH ONLY 300 MILES), THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THE PROBLEM I HAD BEEN EXPLAINING. THE TECHNICIAN AGREED TO SPEAK WITH THE ENGINEER THE NEXT DAY. HOWEVER, NEXT DAY THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED SUCH AS ISSUE, AND IT MAY BE SIMPLY THE DOWN-SHIFT OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION. THIS IS UNUSUAL IN COMPARISON TO ANY OTHER CAR I HAVE DRIVEN. ACCELERATION OF THE CAR DURING THE BRAKING CYCLE IS CLEARLY ODD. POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SIGN OR SLOW TRAFFIC ZONES NEAR SCHOOLS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 5-50 MPH, THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP WHEN THE BRAKES WERE ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 750.
DRIVING DOWN ON FLORIDA HIGHWAY I-75 . AHEAD WAS A PREVIOUS ACCIDENT WITH DEBRIS IN THE ROAD. REDUCED SPEED TO TRY TO AVOID MOST OF THE DEBRIS THAT WAS SCATTERED ALONG THE 4 LANES. I HAPPEN TO GET A PIECE OF DEBRIS IMPACTING FRONT TIRE AND HAVING IT GO UNDERNEATH MY CAR. AS THIS OCCURRED THE ECU MUST HAVE SOMEHOW DETECTED A SIDE COLLISION BUT THERE WAS NONE THAT OCCURRED AND DEPLOYED ALL SIDE AIRBAGS REMOVING MOST OF THE HEADLINER.
I TURNED ON HIGHWAY 277 TOWARDS SAN ANGELO 5 MIN ON HIGHWAY TIRE PRESSURE CAME ON SAYING LOW TIRE WHICH WAS STRANGE IT HAD NEVER DONE THIS THEN ANOTHER 5 MIN I LOOKED IN MIRROR AND I SAW AIR COMING OUT AT THAT MOMENT I KNEW MY TIRE BLEW OUT I WAS ON THE RIM RIGHT AWAY . I HAD TO PULL OVER GET KIDS OUT FOR SAFETY AND I PUT ON MY SPARE FOR NOW. *TR

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2013-2015 Nissan Pathfinder vehicles. The location of the brake light switch may cause the brake light switch relay to repeatedly open and close. Overtime, this can cause the relay to stick in the "ON" position, with the brake lights remaining illuminated even when the brakes are not applied. Additionally, this may interfere with the brake-shift interlock, allowing the driver to shift the vehicle out of the "Park" position, without depressing the brake pedal.
