Summary

My VERSA has been shutting off, shuddering and leaping while driving for over a year. It would always start after stopping and I could go on my way. Today the engine stopped and I was able to restart, but when I put it in gear the engine stopped. I did this several time and every time the engine would stop. I had it towed to my mechanic and he told me my transmission is going out. I looked for a recall notice and did not find one. I did find several class action law suites for this same issue and Nissan has settled all of them. There is another company in town that has 21 Versa's and all of his are having this same issue and must be replaced. It costs over $5,000 to fix and is very unsafe. The issue I had today was stop and go traffic on the freeway.

Summary

I was driving in stop abs ho traffic and the car cut off out if no where. The car jerks when you drive it and stalls. It seems like it requires a lot of work to accelerate and the rpm fluctuates between 2&3 when keeping a steady pace. The care bucks while you are driving. I just bought this car so these issues are alarming to me. It also looks as if the airbag on the top left might be exposed.

Summary

Transmission: When lowering the speed for a speed reduction or full stop the there is a tremor seconds before a full stop. The electrical system is good. No light flickers and when starting starts good. But certain inclines, upwards, with a 3 passengers or little weight the strength power of acceleration the vehicle moves slower. It takes up to 10 seconds for a "grip" of power for torque to accelerate. I was told 2016, from the Nissan Dealer where I purchased the vehicle that it compressed air for such acceleration. I live in the flat area in Puerto Rico. The cities and secondary roads have their incline and their hills but yesterday going on a "On Ramp" to catch the highway the power of take-off had more acceleration than movement and this vehicle has less than 40000 (39565). It has its regular oil change but during the years I never received a warning about this nor from Nissan or from the dealer.

The vehicle’s cooling fan assembly. The air conditioning system began to malfunction by distributing hot air instead of cold air. After a few days - after driving - I parked at a restaurant and while sitting in my car we noticed smoke coming from the hood. Vehicle has less than 75,000 miles on it - six year old vehicle and well maintained. Car was towed to dealership- unable to drive it. Two (2) days later same thing happens to my daughter’s car. While driving- smoke comes from the hood. Her car was towed to the same dealership- where they were both purchased. Her car had less than 19,000 miles - four-year old vehicle and well maintained. Both vehicles. Same problem. Low mileage on vehicle.

Summary

This vehicle has a CVT transmission. My transmission went bad and the vehicle only has 85,000 miles on it. This is a danger and a hazard to drive vehicles with these transmissions. On one occasion I had to stop suddenly and the transmission delayed and jerked the car almost causing me to wreck. Another time I had to accelerate quickly but again it delayed and almost caused me to get hit by another vehicle. I have a 3 year old little boy. We could've been hurt. These transmissions are dangerous. This is not okay.

Summary

The CVT transmission has gone bad on this vehicle, while on vacation the car started sputtering and shut off at a stop light. When I had the car towed to the dealership they told me I needed a new transmission because the torque converter has gone bad. When I complained that the car has only 97,000 some miles the dealership directed me to I-800-Nissan. I provided the requested information and received a call and the gentleman told me my car was not covered under the extended warranty (was extended to 80,000 miles), he went on to say that after researching to see if Nissan could help in any way he found that I had not have service done at one of their dealership and they could not offer any assistance at this time. The quote to replace the transmission with a remanufactured transmission is $4000.00. Upon researching this issue (I believe a transmission with a first maintenance schedule at 100,000 miles should at least make it to that maintenance timeline) I have discovered this CVT transmission problem is widespread among many Nissan models, the Versa included. There were no warning lights or prior problems before it just quit.

A REAR WHEEL BEARING FAILED AND WAS REPLACED AT 14,900 MILES IN 2017. NOW, A REAR WHEEL BEARING HAS FAILED AGAIN AT 59,500 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT MAKE ANY CONCESSION ON THE FAULTY PARTS AND/OR FLAW IN THE QUALITY THAT NISSAN IS USING. WHEEL BEARINGS SHOULD NOT FAIL AT THIS POINT IN A VEHICLE'S LIFE (LOW MILES). THE WHEEL GETS EXTREMELY HOT AND COULD LOCK-UP CAUSING A LOSS OF CONTROL. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS UNSATISFACTORY. THESE CAR MODELS SHOULD BE CHECKED AND REPLACED IF NEEDED BY NISSAN AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. MY VEHICLE IS TILL WITHIN THE 60,000 MILE WARRANTY BUT 4 MONTHS BEYOND THE 60 MONTHS.

WHEN TAKING OFF THE TRANSMISSION BELT SLIPS ALL THE TIME SO I TRY TO EASE INTO THE GAS AS GENTLY AS POSSIBLE. WHEN A/C IS RUNNING THE CAR HAS ALMOST ZERO ACCELERATION AND HAS A STUTTERING OR STUMBLING ISSUE THAT CAUSES ISSUES UNTIL I HIT 3000 3500 RPM THEN SEEMS TO GAIN POWER. I HAVE ISSUES ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE TRANSMISSION SEEMING TO SLIP OUT OF ENGAGEMENT OF THE BELT WHEN SPEEDING UP TO PASS. WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOR A LIGHT, IF THE LIGHT TURNS BEFORE I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND I GO TO REAPPLY PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL, IF I DONT GENTLY APPLY THE GAS THE TRANSMISSION BELT WILL SLIP AND CAUSE THE CAR TO SHUTTER. IM NOT SURE WHAT IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE, BUT I HAVE HAD SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR AROUND 40000 MILES, A CRICKET CHIRPING NOISE THAT IN THE BEGINNING WAS ALWAYS AT 2000RPM AND NO WHERES ELSE IN THE RPM RANGE. NOW IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE TO WHERE I SEEM TO HEAR THE CHIRPING NOISE ANYWHERE AROUND 1500 RPM TO 2250RPM RANGE. AS WELL I HAVE HAD THE RADIATOR FAN QUIT WORKING CAUSING THE MOTOR TO OVER HEAT PRETTY BAD BUT THE HEAD GASKET DIDNT FAIL LUCKILY. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE ENTIRE TIME I HAVE OWNED THE CAR, AN ISSUE WITH THE A/C WHEN IT STARTS UP THE CLUTCH BASICALLY CLUNCKS ON OR MAKES AN AWFUL NOISE KICKING ON AND WHILE THE A/C WOULD RUN BEFORE THE FAN FAILED, THE AIR WOULD START SMELLING VERY VERY BAD. IT SMELLED LIKE CHEMICALS OF SOME SORT AND IT WOULD MAKE ME VERY NATIOUS TO THE POINT I WOULD HAVE TO TURN THE A/C OFF AND LIVING IN THE DESERT IN TUCSON, ARIZONA THIS DOES NOT MAKE FOR A VERY GOOD COMFORTABLE RIDE AT ALL.

VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED IN FLAT DRIVEWAY, ALL WINDOWS SHUT, AND UPON DRIVING A COUPLE BLOCKS FROM HOME AND PULLING TO A STOP SIGN ON A DOWNWARD SLOPING STREET, WATER RUSHED FORWARD ON THE FLOOR OF THE CAR. CAR WAS LAST DRIVEN 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO GET INSPECTED AND SUBSEQUENTLY THERE HAD BEEN A FEW DAYS WITH HEAVY RAINS. WHERE THE WATER CAME IN I DON'T KNOW. USED SHOP-VAC TO SUCK OUT TONS OF WATER BUT MOISTURE STILL REMAINS ON FLOORS WHEN PRESSED WITH PAPER TOWELS. ALSO, DIFFERENT LIGHTS WERE LIT ON DASH WHEN I PUT THE AIR ON WHILE PARKED TO HELP DRY OUT CARPET--THE ABS AND THE CAR SKIDDING LIGHTS. MAKES ME SUSPECT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS AFFECTED BY WATER ALSO. THE FUEL GAUGE IS INACCURATE ONCE BELOW 3/8THS OF A TANK. THIS COULD LEAD TO A STALL ON THE FREEWAY OR IN A DANGEROUS AREA LEADING TO AN ACCIDENT. THE PROBLEM LEAVES INSUFFICIENT TIME TO GET TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. OUR PARTICULAR INCIDENT HAD THE METER AT 3/8THS AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CAR WAS SHUT OFF AND, WHEN TURNED BACK ON, THE GAUGE WAS SHOWING EMPTY. IN ADDITION TO THE PROBLEM OF A STALL CAUSING A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT, THE FUEL PUMP USES GASOLINE TO COOL AND LUBRICATE IT, LEADING TO POTENTIAL LONG-TERM PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM AS IT WAS RUN UNTIL EMPTY. NISSAN HAS HAD HISTORICAL PROBLEMS WITH FUEL GAUGES AND THIS IS IN LINE WITH SIMILAR COMPLAINTS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. *TR

SOMETIMES STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE OWNING THE CAR. YOU CAN PRESS THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND IT WON'T DO ANYTHING AT ALL. I TOOK IT IN TO HAVE THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT IT AND THEY TOTALLY BLOW ME OFF DENIED THAT ANYTHING WAS GOING ON THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE MOTOR THEY SAID. YOU HAVE TO JUST LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND THEN IT'LL FINALLY MOVE THE CAR WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL. THIS COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT BECAUSE WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO GO SOMEWHERE AND IT DOESN'T GO ANYWHERE I COULD LEAVE YOU STRANDED SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROADNOT SURE IF IT'S THIS IS RELATED TO THE WHATEVER'S CAUSING THAT PROBLEM BUT WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE AND YOU'RE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT THE CAR VIBRATES REALLY BAD SOMETIMES YOU CAN STEP ON THE BRAKE LET OFF OF IT AND STEP BACK ON IT AND RPMS WILL GO UP BUT SOMETIMES THE RPMS WILL DROP DOWN TO BELOW 600 THAT'S WHEN THE ENGINE STARTS VIBRATING REAL BAD. I'VE TRIED TO GET THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE SEVERAL TIMES THEY ENDED UP TELL THEM IT WAS AN AFTERMARKET MOTOR MOUNT IT WAS NOT A NISSAN PART SO I CHANGED IT FOR A GENUINE NISSAN PART THEY CHARGE ME OVER $600 AND IT DID NOT FIX THE CAR IT'S STILL VIBRATED. WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK JUST SITTING IN A PARKING LOT SOMEWHERE THE CAR RUNS PERFECT THE RPMS ARE FINE AND THERE'S NO VIBRATION WHATSOEVER BUT AS SOON AS YOU PUT IT INTO DRIVE IT STARTS VIBRATING. IT HAS ALSO ALMOST WENT DEAD SEVERAL TIMES TO OVER THE LAST YEAR I JUST STARTED KNOCKING , SPUTTERING REAL BAD AND IT ALMOST GOES DEAD AND SHUTS THE MOTOR OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT RED LIGHTS FOR PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOTS ON CITY STREETS. IT'S ALMOST GONE DEAD JUST SITTING AT THE RED LIGHT WHEN THE CAR STARTS SPUTTERING.

OF COURSE THE RADIATOR FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED ANYMORE FROM THE EARLIER CLASS ACTION RADIATOR SUIT. I ALSO FILED A CLAIM WITH CONSUMER AFFAIR NISSAN, CASE #39608867. THE REPRESENTATIVE (AUSTIN) I SPOKE WITH DENIED THE CLAIM. I'VE TRIED TO REACH AUSTIN (615) 725-7582 A FEW TIMES TO GET ANY DOCUMENTATION THAT WAS USED FOR HIS DECISION TO DENY THIS CLAIM, BUT HE HAS NOT RETURNED ANY OF MY CALLS. I BELIEVE THAT NISSAN HAS AN OBLIGATION TO THE CONSUMER WHEN THEY HAVE SOLD DEFECTIVE CVT TRANSMISSIONS AND RADIATORS.

WHILE DRIVING I NOTICED A LOUD HUMMING NOISE STARTING AT 40 MPH AND LATER DETERMINED THAT THE WHEEL BEARINGS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED . UPON RESEARCHING THE ISSUE I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AMONG THIS MODEL OF CAR STARTING AS EARLY AS 10K MILES. MY MECHANIC ALSO STATED THAT IT IS UNUSUAL FOR THIS PART TO BE REPLACED SO EARLY IN THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE BUT IF THE PART IN QUESTION WOULD HAVE EXPERIENCED A TOTAL FAILURE THE ENTIRE WHEEL FALLS OFF OF THE VEHICLE.

12/5/2018 I REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION ON THE NISSAN VERSA 2015 AT 37,000 MILES. 2 MONTHS AT 42,000 MILES LATER CAR MAKING NOISE NOT KNOWING WHAT IT IS, AFTER MANY CAR CHECKS WITH AUTO MECHANICS. ON SEPTEMBER 2019 AT 93,000 MILES I RECEIVED A POST CARD ABOUT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED BY NISSAN OWNERS AGAINST 2013-2017 NISSAN VERSA AND SENTRA CARS ''CVT' TRANSMISSIONS NOT PROPERLY WORKING TO NOT WORKING AT ALL. I FINALLY HAD THE CAR CHECKED AND THE NISSAN ONLY MECHANIC SAID MY 2015 NISSAN VERSA IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR A THIRD TIME AT MOSSY NISSAN HOUSTON, TX. ITS EXTREMELY NOT FAIR. NISSAN MANUFACTURE FAIL TO PROVIDE 100% OF REPAIR COST AND REFUSE TO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PAIN AND SUFFERING THEIR TERRIBLE CAR TRANSMISSION CAUSE ME. MANY PEOPLE AND TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOPS KNOWS NISSAN TRANSMISSIONS ARE NOT GOOD. YOU CAN REPLACE A NISSAN TRANSMISSION TODAY AND THE SAME YEAR OR NEXT YEAR YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. ITS EXTREMELY NOT FAIR WHAT NISSAN MANUFACTURER & DEALERSHIP DID. II REPLACED THE FIRST TRANSMISSION AT 37,000 MILES IN YEAR 2 OF OWNING MY CAR , AT 42,000 OR 50,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION STARTS GOING BAD. AND YEAR 3 AT 93,000 I HAVE TO REPLACED AGAIN. THAT IS A MAJOR HIGHWAY SAFETY HAZARD. THE REASON I DID NOT HAVE A MAJOR ACCIDENT WITH THIS CAR I STRONGLY BELIEVE, IS BECAUSE I PRAYED EVERYDAY WHEN I START DRIVING FOR JEHOVAH GOD TO PROTECT ME, NOT TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT, AND NOT TO KILL ANYONE WITH THIS CAR. SO EVERY 30,000 MILES OR EVERY YEAR YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION ON A NISSAN VERSA DEPENDING HOW MUCH YOU DRIVE FOR THE YEAR.. I HAD TO DEAL WITH EXTREME STRESS BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL 3 TIMES. PLEASE MAKE MONEY GREEDY NISSAN PAY FOR THEIR DELIBERATE FRAUD ACT. I DON'T DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE ITS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH A VERY BAD TRANSMISSION.

PLEASE TELL THE GOVERNMENT OR WHOEVER IS THE BIGGEST BOSS OF CAR MANUFACTURER NISSAN TO PUNISH NISSAN SEVERELY AND EXTREMELY FOR MAKING UNSAFE CARS THAT PUTS CONSUMER A T A SEVERE SAFETY RISK. FOR THEIR TRANSMISSIONS, SHOCKS, STRUTS, EVERYTHING IN THE CAR. EVER SINCE I GOT THE CAR IN OCTOBER 2016 I HAVE TO BRING IT TO THE SHOP EVERY 2-3 MONTHS, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAR, OCTOBER 2019 I HAD TO REPLACED THE FAN, BEFORE THAT THE MOTOR MOUNTS, THE SHOCKS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, THE STRUTS TOO, THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYS ON, MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR.. REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION BEFORE AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE CAR JIGGLES, WADDLE, THE SHOCK, STRUTS, GETS STARTS TO WORN OUT AT 20,000 MILES, AT 50, 60, 70, 80,000 MILES THE CAR EXTREMELY UNSTABLE WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. IT FEELS SO LIGHT, FEELS LIKE ITS WHEELS WILL BREAK OR PULL OFF TO ONE SIDE. CAR IS PHYSICALLY UNSTABLE AND BOUNCE WAY TOO MUCH. THE CAR MOTOR MOUNTS MAKES SO MUCH CLICKING NOISE, BRAKES TERRIBLE. MAJOR CAR SAFETY HAZARD. 90.000 MILES CURRENTLY CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS MECHANIC SAID AND I CANNOT REPAIR IT. PLEASE MAKE NISSAN REFUNDED ME MY MONEY & TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR FAULTY CAR. THEIR IS A CURRENT CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM FOR THEIR FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS WILL STOP WORKING ON THE NISSAN VERSA AND SENTRA CARS FROM 2013-2017 YEAR MODELS. AND EVEN IF YOU REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION IT WILL FAIL AFTER 30,000 MILES. PLEASE MAKE NISSAN PAY FOR THEIR FRAUDULENT CAR PARTS THAT THEY MADE THAT IS GOING TO NOT WORK SOON. FOR A MONTH I ALSO DROVE A 2019 NISSAN SENTRA RENTAL BRAND NEW CAR AT 1000 MILES. AT 5,000 -7,000 MILES THE CAR TRANSMISSION MAKES SO MUCH NOISE. NISSAN SENTRA AND VERSSA CARS ARE NOT SAFE. PURCHASED THE CAR IN AUGUST 2019 AT 125,000 MILES. BY OCTOBER 2019, THE CVT TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AND WILL COST $4,400 TO REPLACE BY NISSAN. MY 18YO NIECE WAS DRIVING WHEN THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND IT COULD'VE BEEN DETRIMENTAL OR FATAL FOR HER. I LOOKED IT UP AND FOUND THERE'S AN OPEN CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR KNOWINGLY INSTALLING DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSIONS IN THEIR VERSAS. HOW COULD THEY DO THIS? ARE THEY WAITING TO SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE KILLED OR INJURED WHILE DRIVING DEFECTIVE CARS? IT'S NOT RIGHT. THE WORST THING IS THAT NISSAN'S RESPONSE TO THE SUIT IS EXTENDING THE WARRANTY TO 84,000 MILES, WHICH DOESN'T HELP ME AND MANY OTHERS IN THE SAME SITUATION, INSTEAD OF RECALLING AND FIXING THE ISSUE, WHICH IS WHAT SHOULD BE DONE! WHY PUNISH PEOPLE FOR MILEAGE WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS DESTINED TO FAIL FROM THE BEGINNING? THIS CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. IT'S RIDICULOUS AND WRONG.

Summary

I HAD PREVIOUSLY MADE NISSAN AWARE OF A PROBLEM WITH MY CAR STALLING AND SHUTTING OFF. THEY ASSURED ME NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE, THE CAR CONTINUED TO STALL AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. MONTHS LATER IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND WOULD DECREASE IN SPEED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO NOT MOVE WHEN I WOULD PRESS ON THE GAS AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP; I WOULD HAVE TO TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON. THEN IT STARTED TO FAIL GOING IN REVERSE AND SHUTTING OFF AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. MANY OTHER NISSAN VERSA OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINT OF VEHICLES STALLING. THE VEHICLES ARE A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND I BELIEVE NISSAN KNOWS THIS. I HAVE NOW BEEN TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT WORK. WHY HAS NISSAN NOT DONE SOMETHING ABOUT THE TERRIBLE TRANSMISSIONS?

I PURCHASED A USED 2015 NISSAN VERSA FROM DRIVETIME BACK ON 04/20/18 WITH 46,732 MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD IT FOR ALMOST 8 MONTHS AND IT NOW HAS CLOSE TO 60,000 MILES. I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH DRIVING HERE IN THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS WITH THE CAR SHUTTING DOWN, TRANSMISSION JERKING & TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP WHO ADVISED ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THEY QUOTED ME BETWEEN $2000.00 TO $4000.00 DEPENDING IF I BUY A USED OR NEW TRANSMISSION. I CHECKED ONLINE AND SEE THAT THIS IS WELL KNOW PROBLEM WITH NISSAN VEHICLES, WITH THEIR CVT TRANSMISSION. IT SHOWS THAT THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY OUT TO 10 YEARS AND 120,000 ON SOME OF THE THEIR VEHICLES WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION. HOWEVER, I JUST CALLED MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY. I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND ADVISE THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. FOR THE CAR TO SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WHILE IM DRIVING IT, COULD RESULT IN ME BEING INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR BEING KILLED. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT REMEDIES I HAVE GOING FORWARD WITH THIS ISSUE. THANK YOU.

WHEN I FIRST PURCHASE THE NISSAN VERSA 2015 IN SEPT. 2015, THE CAR WAS USED IT HAD 15,000 MILES ON IT. I TEST DROVE IT A LITTLE BIT WHEN I TRIED TO DRIVE IT OFF I NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION WAS ACTING UP BEFORE I GOT OFF THE STOCKTON DEALERSHIP. I BROUGHT IT BACK AND THEY TEST DROVE IT. THEY SAID YES THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG AND REPLACE IT. NOW, I AM THINKING BACK, THE DEALERSHIP KNEW THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. BEFORE I PURCHASED THE CAR. THE DEALERSHIP CONVINCED ME TO GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I AM THINKING WHY IS A BRAND NEW CAR WITH 15,000 MILES ON IT.. SO, IT TOOK ABOUT A MONTH TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND IT DROVE OK. THEN IN 2017, I NOTICED A SMALL SLIPPING NOISE, LIKE A SMALL DRUMROLL EVERY NOW AND THEN. THEN FINALLY I TOOK THE CAR TO OAKLAND DEALERSHIP IN 2017 AROUND 88,000 MILES. THEY COULDN'T LOCATE THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM OR NOISE. IN A FEW DAYS, I PICK UP THE CAR AND AS SOON AS I DROVE IT I HEAR THE SLIPPING DRUMROLL SOUND. I TOOK IT BACK AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID WE TESTED AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS FINE. I WAS DISCOURAGED WITH THE RESULTS, NOW IT JAN 2019, MANY MONTHS LATER, AND TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND EXPIRED WARRANTY. THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING, MORE FREQUENT LOUD DRUMROLL NOISE AND SHAKING WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE THE CAR. I LOOKED IT UP ON GOOGLE AND I NOTICED THAT NISSAN DOUBLED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THEIR TRANSMISSION. TODAY, I WENT TO THE OAKLAND DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID MY NISSAN VERSA IS NOT UNDER THAT EXTENDED WARRANTY. HOW CAN THIS BE? THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS AND FAILURES ABOUT THE NISSAN TRANSMISSION. NISSAN AND DEALERSHIP KNEW ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE IN THE VERSA. RIGHT NOW, I FEEL THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON THE STREET BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WILL FAIL AN ANY GIVEN TIME AND DRIVING CONDITION. PLEASE RECALL ALL NISSAN VERSA AND HAVE THE COMPANY FIX THIS RECURRING TRANSMISSION ISSUE.

I BOUGHT THIS VERSA BRAND NEW AT THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER A YEAR FROM THE PURCHASE DATE THE DEALER WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AND WAS BOUGHT OUT. THE FIRST YEAR I HAD IT I CAME IN OFTEN WITH TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, BUT WAS TOLD IT WAS NOTHING AND TO GIVE IT MORE GAS WHEN IT ACTED LIKE IT WAS HAVING TROUBLES. EVERYTIME I WENT FOR AN OIL CHANGE, EVEN MY FIRST OIL CHANGE, THEY WOULD COME BACK WITH 600 DOLLARS WORTH OF FILTERS OR THE BRAKE FLUID NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. I QUIT GOING THERE FOR MY CAR, BECAUSE OF THE CONSTANT PRESSURE TO SPEND MONEY ON ISSUES I WASNT HAVING. THEY NEVER WANTED TO LOOK AT THE TRANSMISSION OR ANYTHING. NOW AFTER 65K THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED, MY RUNNING TAILLIGHTS DO NOT WORK, SOME UNKNOWN ELECTRICAL ISSUE, AND THE CAR JUST TURNS OFF ON IT'S OWN WITH NO WARNING. BEFORE THE TRANNY WENT OUT I WAS DRIVING 70 MPH DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND THE CAR SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT WITH A SEMI, THE DEALER DOES NOT WANT TO FIX THAT PROBLEM BC IT CAN NOT REPLICATED. THAT'S THEIR ANSWER TO ANY PROBLEM THAT'S NOT EXPENSIVE OR QUICK. IF IT CAN NOT BE REPLICATED THEN YOUR LYING AS I HAVE BEEN TOLD. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT ALL VERSA'S SOLD WOULD NEED A NEW TRANNY AFTER 40K. NOW NISSAN NORTH AMERICA NOR THE DEALER WANTS TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKES. I NEED HELP GETTING THIS RESOLVED SOON.

WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK A DEER RAN IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE AND AT 62 MPH ON A HIGHWAY MY CAR COLLIDED WITH A DEER. AS YOU WILL SEE THE DAMAGE DONE TO MY CAR THE CAR IS A POSSIBLE TOTALED VEHICLE. MY CONCERN WAS MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON THIS KIND OF IMPACT. I WAS TOLD BY NISSAN THEY ARE NOT MADE TO DEPLOY UPON IMPACT BUY ONLY BY THE DECELERATION OF MY CAR. THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ACCURATE TO ME IN THE FACT THAT IT WAS OVER A 200 POUND ANIMAL AND MY ENGINE WAS PUSHED BACK INTO THE FIREWALL, LOST MY BREAKS IN THE ROAD, AND AS YOU CAN SEE THERE IS A LOT OF DAMAGE DONE TO THE CARE. I CALLED NISSAN TO EXPRESS MY CONCERN OF THIS AND THEY SAID IT IS NORMAL AND THE AIR BAGS WOULD HAVE CAUSED MORE DAMAGE TO ME THEN THE IMPACT. MY ENGINE OIL IS GOING BAD AT 3-4000 MILES ( PUTTING SYTHETIC OIL WITH GURANTEE 10-15000 MILE) . AND IF ENGINE OIL GOES BAD MY CAR'S PICKUP GO LESS. IT CANT RUN OVER 15-20 MPH. HAPPENED WITH ME TWICE, ONCE IN FEBRUARY 2018 WHEN I HAD TO TOW MY CAR AND AGAIN HAPPEND ON 25TH APRIL 2018 AND I HAD TO DRIVE WITH EMERGENCY PARKING LIGHTS ON TO SERVICE CENTER. MY CARS OIL REPLACEMENT STICKER STILL SHOWS 2000 MILES MORE TO RUN. AND SOME MECHANIC SAID OIL IS ALL BAD.AFTER THAT I PUT AN OBD DEVICE IN MY CAR. AND GOT SOME PROBLEM CODES. ATTACHING IMAGE. RIGHT NOW MY CAR IS IN NISSAN SERVICE CENTER. AND THEY DIDNT TOLD ME ANYTHING FROM LAST 3 DAYS, THAT WHATS GOING ON.

OUR NISSAN VERSA HAS HAD TO HAVE ITS TRANSMISSION REPLACED AT 24,711 MILES. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK, THE CAR COMPLETELY DIED WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. NOW AT 33,XXX MILES IT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS GOING BAD AGAIN. WHEN WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP, IT WAS A CERTIFIED USED VEHICLE WITH 87 MILES ON IT. THE ELECTRICAL IN THE CAR IS ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS. OUR STEREO DISPLAY DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK AND THE USB AND CHARGE PORTS ARE ALSO NOT UP TO STANDARD.

THIS PROBLEM COMES AND GOES, NOT LIMITED TO JUST MOVING. I CAN SHIFT INTO GEAR AND HAVE IMMEDIATE DIFFICULTY OR BE DRIVING ALONG AT ANY SPEED THEN SUDDENLY THE POWER STEERING IS GONE. I WAS ADVISED BY THE ADA, OK DEALERSHIP THAT THE 2015 NISSAN VERSA DOES NOT USE POWER STEERING FLUID AND THAT THE PROBLEM IS THE POWER STEERING COMPUTER.

MY 2015 NISSAN VERSA TRANSMISSION HAS GONE OUT AND IT ONLY HAS 79K MILES I PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW IN OCT OF 2015. I AM JUST CHECKING TO SEE IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS INSTALLED IN 2014 SINCE THOSE TRANSMISSIONS WERE RECALLED ON THE 2014 VERSAS WERE USED IN THE 2015 VERSAS. THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED WITH THAT MILEAGE. I AM SURE NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE WITH CUSTOMERS, AS I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FROM NISSAN VERSA OWNERS. WE NEED A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES CONSUMERS SIMPLY CANNOT PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO HAVE THEM REPLACED THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND NISSAN SHOULD BE MADE TO PAY FOR THE TOTAL REPAIRS TO REPLACE THESE TRANSMISSIONS ON ALL THE 2015 VERSAS, MAYBE YOU COULD LOOK INTO THIS. MY CAR IS AT THE DEALERSHIP WAITING TO BE INSPECTED AS THEY ARE TWO WEEKS BEHIND AND NOW I HAVE TO RENT A VEHICLE TO GET TO WORK. PLEASE TAKE THIS COMPLAINT INTO SERIOUS CONSIDERATION.

Summary

2015 NISSAN VERSA NOTE SV SUFFERS FROM FAULTY BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH INTERMITTENT AND DOES NOT LIGHT UP THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. CONSEQUENTLY, WHEN THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH IS WORKING, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WILL ALSO ILLUMINATE AND CAUSE THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM TO BE DISABLED. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. FIRST, FAILURE TO ILLUMINATE THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS WHEN BRAKING WILL FAIL TO ALERT DRIVERS THAT YOU ARE STOPPING AND PUTS YOU AT RISK FOR A REAR END COLLISION. SECOND, THE TRACTION CONTROL ALSO BECOMES DISABLED, THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD IN THE EVENT YOU LOSE TRACTION, THE VEHICLE WILL NO LONGER ASSIST WITH DRIVING STABILITY. WORSE CASE, YOU ARE REAR ENDED DUE TO THE BRAKE LIGHTS NOT ILLUMINATING AND THEN YOUR CAR LOSES TRACTION DUE TO THE IMPACT, YOU TRACTION CONTROL IS ALSO DISABLED, THEREFORE YOU ARE AT AN EVEN HIGHER RISK FOR INJURY. THIS PROBLEM IS FIXED BY SIMPLE REPLACEMENT OF THE BRAKE LAMP SWITCH SENSOR THAT SITS BEHIND THE BRAKE PEDAL. IT IS A 1 MINUTE JOB JUST TO UNSCREW THE OLD SENSOR AND SCREW IN THE NEW ONE. I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, ALTHOUGH MINOR, DUE TO THE BRAKE LIGHT NOT TURNING ON. THE DRIVER BEHIND ME REAR ENDED ME, POSSIBLY DUE TO KNOWING I WAS BRAKING UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE. I HAVE NOTICED THROUGH MY REAR VIEW MIRROR ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS WHERE VEHICLES BEHIND ME WOULD BRAKE VIOLENTLY. I FINALLY REALIZED IT WAS DUE TO MY BRAKE LAMP SWITCH NOT ALWAYS WORKING. KEEP IN MIND, MY VEHICLE NEVER WARNED ME ABOUT MY TAIL LIGHT BEING OUT. TECHNICALLY, IT WOULDN'T, SINCE THE BRAKE LIGHT BULBS ARE FINE. THE SWITCH FAILING DID NOT ALERT ME WHEN THE BRAKE LAMPS ARE NOT ILLUMINATING. I REPLACED THE PART FOR $68.36 WITH A GENUINE PART FROM NISSAN DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER, THIS SHOULD BE A RECALLED ITEM AND NISSAN SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE. THE CAR IS BARELY TWO YEARS OLD, THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY FROM A TURN, PROBABLY GOING 5 MPH, AT A SLIGHT UP GRADE, AND MY CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED -- IT STOPPED. THE ENGINE WAS ON, RUNNING NORMAL, BUT WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS, FLOORED IT, EVEN, THERE WAS ZERO RESPONSE. NO REVVING, NOTHING. I SWITCH GEARS TO LOW, THEN PARK, THEN REVERSE, THEN DRIVE. STILL NOTHING. THEN AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE HAD PASSED SINCE THE INITIAL FAILURE, IT STARTED TO REV A BIT AT LOW RPMS, THEN FINALLY KICK IN AND DRIVE ME UP MY DRIVEWAY. THIS OCCURRED ON THE SAME DRIVE IN WHICH THE CAR WAS LURCHING, BUCKING, AND SHAKING VIOLENTLY UPON ACCELERATION, PARTICULARLY ACCELERATING FROM A LOW SPEED TO A HIGH ONE QUICKLY. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE ONE MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT PRE-OWNED AND CERTIFIED FROM ENTERPRISE CAR SALES IN ELMWOOD NJ. THE POWER TRAIN IS COVERED BY BOTH NISSAN AND ENTERPRISE. BUT WHEN I BRING IT IN TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN ROCKLAND (BLAUVELT, NY), THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $138 FOR DIAGNOSTICS THAT WILL PROBABLY SHOW NOTHING. SIX WEEKS AGO I BROUGHT IT IN FOR THE EXACT SAME TWO PROBLEMS, AND IT REFUSED TO MISBEHAVE FOR THE MECHANIC, IT THREW NO CODES, AND THE ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. I HAVE A VIDEO POSTED TO YOUTUBE: HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/EDIT?O=U&VIDEO_ID=LOOJECZO89C. I SHOWED THE VIDEO TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID IT WASN'T PROOF ENOUGH. SO HERE I AM WITH A SUPPOSEDLY GOOD WARRANTY (THERE ARE ONLY 43,000 MILES ON THE CAR) FOR A NEWLY BOUGHT CAR, BUT I HAVE NO CONSUMER PROTECTION BECAUSE A MECHANIC SUPPOSEDLY CAN'T FIND A PROBLEM. THE WARRANTY DOESN'T COVER DIAGNOSTICS. THERE ARE AT LEAST 2 CLASS ACTION SUITS IN MOTION AGAINST NISSAN FOR THEIR CVT TRANSMISSIONS. I HAVE A CALL IN TO THEM, TO ASK THEM TO TAKE MY CAR IN TO THE DEANSHIP AND ACTUALLY FIX THE PROBLEM, REPLACE THE CVT IF NECESSARY. WHAT IF IT DIES AGAIN, AND I'M ON THE TRAIN TRACKS? OR ON THE FREEWAY. IT IS NOT SAFE!

" TAKATA RECALL" MY 2015 NISSAN VERSA IS DRIVING SLOW AND THERE IS NO EXCELARATION, THE CAR WONT DRIVE OVER 35 MILES AND THE CAR IS CONSTANTLY DRIVING SLOW. I AM ABLE TO TAKE THE CAR TO O'REILYS BY HOME AND THEY WERE ABLE TO COMPLETE A DIAGNOSTICS ON THE CAR AND THEY ADVISE ME THAT IS WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. I HAD A PRIVATE MECHANIC TO COME TO HOME AND HE ADVISE THE SAME. I CHECK NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA WEBSITE AND I SEE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE NISSAN VERSA BUT THAT WAS IN 2015 FOR THE CVT-TRANSMISSION AND THIS HAPPEN TO MY CAR IN JAN 2017. I DIDNOT HAVE ANY WARNINGS ON MY DASH BOARDS, AND I WAS IN TRAFFIC WHEN IT HAPPEND. I FIRST BROUGHT THE CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP IN JAN 2015 FOR THE FOOT PEDAL AND THE CAR STAYED THERE ALMOST 2 MONTHS BEFORE THEY FINALLY FIXED IT CORRECTLY AND THEN I NOTICE A RECALL AFTER THAT. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW IN DEC 2014 AND THE CAR IS NOT EVEN 2 YEARS OLD FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO BE GONE. I DO NOT HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WHY SHOULD I SINCE IT IS A BRAND NEW CAR. WHEN THE CAR WAS DRIVING SLOW ON THE EXPRESSWAY I HAD MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND IT COULD HAVE PLAY OUT WORST. I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE LET IT SIT AND THEN I STARTED IT BACK AGAIN DRIVING WITH MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON AND THE CAR KEPT JERKING AND NEVER GOING OVER 35 MILES, THE CAR REVS ON ITS OWN WITHOUT STEPPING ON THE FOOT PEDAL. WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR NOW I DO NOT GO FURTHER THAN 3 MILES FROM MY HOME FOR FEAR THE CAR WILL STOP AGAIN OR I CAN BE IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I LIVE BY 2 MAJOR EXPRESSWAYS THAT TRUCK USE AND I CANT AFFORD TO TAKE THE CHANCE WITH GETTING HIT FROM BEHIND. TRYING TO MAKE 1 TURN OFF MY STREET THE CAR JUST REVS AND THEN IT SLOWS DOWN AND THEN ALL OF SUDDEN THE CAR WILL SPEED OFF ON IT OWN TO ABOUT 35 MILES.I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME 4,000.00 TO PUT A BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION WHICH I DONT HAVE.

FOOT STUCK ON GAS PEDAL. I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN VERSA NOTE SR AND SINCE I'VE BOUGHT THE CAR MY FOOT HAS BEEN GETTING CAUGHT ON AN HVAC RELAY ACTUATOR STICKING DOWN FROM THE TOP. IT'S ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS IF I LIFT MY FOOT OFF THE GAS TO GO TO THE BRAKE BUT CANT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO SAID MY CAR ISN'T INCLUDED IN THE MOST RECENT RECALLS AND WON'T FIX IT. I WAS TOLD TO "DRIVE WITH MY FOOT NOT SO FAR UP ON THE ACCELERATOR." THIS REALLY IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM FOR THEM TO BRUSH OFF.

DRIVING AS I NORMALLY DO ON MY NORMAL ROUTE, DOING ABOUT 30 MPH, AND CAR WOULDN'T MAKE THE CORNER. WENT OVER CURB, BENT THE RIM IN TWO PLACES, AND OF COURSE RUINED THE TIRE. IT WAS AS IF THE CAR WAS INTENT ON GOING RIGHT. NO EVIDENCE OF STABILITY CONTROL WORKING. HAVE NEVER HAD AN EXPERIENCE LIKE THAT. CALLED AAA AND THEY CHANGED TIRE. DROVE TO DEALER, AND WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE OF OVER $500.00 TO REPAIR DAMAGE. ESTIMATE INCLUDED RIM, OEM TIRE, PLASTIC WHEEL COVER ($80.00) TOLD IT WOULD BE NECESSARY TO HAVE A FOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENT. THE SCARY THING WAS IT FELT LIKE I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE WHEEL. CRANKED STEERING HARD LEFT, CAR JUST HEADED FOR THE CURB. ROAD IS AN UPHILL TWISTY ONE THAT IS NORMALLY FUN TO DRIVE, BUT WHEN THE DRIFTED LEFT, AND I STEERED RIGHT, IT DIDN'T STRAIGHTEN OUT AND WENT OVER THE CURB.

Summary

OUR CAR WAS TRAVELING IN A VERY SLOW SPEED ON AN ON-RAMP OF INTERCHANGE FROM FREEWAY 110 NORTH BOUND TO 105 WEST BOUND IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY. THE TRAFFIC FLOW WAS IN A VERY SLOW MOVING FASHION. SINCE IT WAS AN UPHILL ON RAMP, I HAD TO STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL SLIGHTLY TO KEEP THE CAR MOVING AT A SLOW BUT STEADY SPEED. AS THE TRAFFIC GOT SLOWER, I GENTLY STEPPED ON THE BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR. WHILE I WAS HOLDING DOWN THE BRAKE PEDAL, SUDDENLY I HEARD A "CLUNK" NOISE AND FELT A VIBRATION. AT THIS POINT, THE CAR STARTED MOVING ON ITS OWN WITHOUT A SIGN OF SLOWING DOWN. I IMMEDIATELY TRIED TO STEP ON BRAKE WITH FULL FORCE BUT FELT THE BRAKE HAVING NO PRESSURE AT ALL. AS THE CAR CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD WITH UNCONTROLLED SPEED, THE ONLY THING I COULD DO AT THAT MOMENT WAS TO VEER THE CAR TOWARDS THE RIGHT EDGE TO AVOID DIRECT IMPACT WITH THE FRONT CAR. BY READING THE OWNER'S MANUAL, I BELIEVED THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM FUNCTION WAS BEING ERRONEOUSLY ACTIVATED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT SINCE THE DRY AND NON-SLIPPERY ROAD CONDITION DID NOT WARRANT SUCH ACTIVATION. AND WHAT MADE THINGS EVEN WORSE WAS, FOR WHATEVER THE REASON, THE CAR WAS MOVING ON ITS OWN IN AN UNCONTROLLED SPEED WHILE THE BREAK PEDAL WAS COMPLETELY LOSING THE PRESSURE DUE TO THE ABS ACTIVATION. THIS VEHICLE WAS BEING RECALLED AND SERVICED FOR SUDDEN ACCELERATION SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO THE LOWER PANEL TRIM DESIGN IN AUGUST. THE LIABILITY INSURANCE CLAIM WAS FILED FOR THE ACCIDENT. THE MILEAGE WAS 8740 AT THE TIME OF ACCIDENT. PHOTOS OF THE ACCIDENT SCENE ARE ATTACHED AND ALONG WITH OTHER DOCUMENTS.

Summary

WHEN DRIVING THE CAR AT SPEEDS 40MPH AND ABOVE, THE CAR DOES NOT STAY IN THE LANE. THIS CAR IS CONTINUOUSLY PULLING TO THE LEFT OUT OF THE LANE TOWARDS CARS IN THE MIDDLE LANE, WITH NO CONTROL TO CORRECT, THEN PUSHED TO THE RIGHT OUT OF LANE, BACK AND FORTH MY WHOLE RIDE WITH NO SUBSIDING. THE ISSUE AT TIMES ESCALATES BY GETTING OUT OF CONTROL WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON ANY ROAD, GOING BACK AND FORTH LEFT TO RIGHT VERY FAST AND SHORT BY ITSELF WITH THE STEERING WHEEL CENTERED. FOR THIS ISSUE I'M NEEDING TO WAIT FOR THE CORRECTION AND SLOW DOWN THE CAR. THE FRONT TIRES ARE CONTINUOUSLY GETTING THROWN OUT OF ALIGNMENT AS SOON AS I DRIVE IT FOLLOWING SERVICING. I HAVE HAD 4 SERVICE APPOINTMENTS FOR ALIGNMENTS AND BALANCING WITHIN A 2 WEEK TIME FRAME, REPLACED TIRES, AND BROUGHT TO NISSAN DIRECTLY FOR A DIAGNOSIS WITH NO CHANGE TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I DO NOT BELIEVE THE ALIGNMENT IS THE ROOT CAUSE OF THIS SAFETY PROBLEM. IN ADDITION, WHEN A CAR OR ANY VEHICLE DRIVES BY MY CAR ON ANY ROAD, MORE SEVERE ON THE HIGHWAY, MY CAR IS PUSHED ACROSS MY LANE AND THERE IS NO WINDY CONDITIONS. THIS DOES OCCUR ON THE HIGHWAY AND LOCAL STREETS. IT IS ALSO APPARENTLY VISIBLE TO OTHER DRIVERS AS I SEE CARS FROM BEHIND ME MOVE TO THE MIDDLE LANE, SPEED UP AND PASS ME IN THE FAR LEFT OF THEIR LANE, THEN CUT ME OFF. I DO NOT BELIEVE AGAIN THAT THIS IS A WHEEL ISSUE, AND I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS THE ROOT CAUSE OF THIS IS HOWEVER WHAT I DO KNOW IS THAT IT IS NOT SAFE FOR MYSELF OR OTHERS ON THE ROAD. I HAVE AN OPENED COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND SO FAR THEIR RESPONSE HAS BEEN, GO BACK TO NISSAN FOR ANOTHER ALIGNMENT, TO WHICH I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ALREADY WITH NO CHANGE TO THE ROOT PROBLEM. *TR

VERY THIN CLEAR COAT AND PAINT LEADING TO RUST. THERE ARE MULTIPLE SPOTS ON OUR VEHICLE WHERE, WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE SERVICED AT THE DEALERSHIP OR IN DAILY DRIVING, THAT THE CLEAR/COLOR AND PRIMER COATS HAVE BEEN COMPROMISED WITH MINOR EVENTS. THE HINGES THAT HOLD THE DOORS ARE PAINTED WITH THE SAME PRIMER AND COLOR COAT AND A LESS BUFFED OR POSSIBLY NOT COVERED IN A CLEAR COAT. PRACTICAL THINKING IS THAT IT IS LIKELY, NOT JUST PLAUSIBLE, THAT THE PAINT HAS BEEN OR WILL BE COMPROMISED IN THESE PLACES LEADING TO FAILURE CAUSING DISTRACTION, INJURY OR DEATH.

THE TIRE MANUFACTURER DID NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF MY CORRESPONDENCE. I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM IN THE PAST. I HAVE ASKED THE RENTAL CAR COMPANY FOR CAR MAINTENANCE RECORDS TO HELP DETERMINE WHETHER IT WAS A MAINTENANCE ISSUE OR A TIRE ISSUE. WHEN I RENTED THE CAR, IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 36,000 MILES. WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE CAR, I NOTICED THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS VERY SPONGY AND SOFT AND THE CAR HESITATED TO STOP WHEN BRAKE ENGAGED. BUT AS I KEEP DRIVING IT, IT PROMPT ME INTO DANGER AS I HAVE HARD TIME STOPPING THE CAR AND END UP IN THE MIDDLE OF CROSSWALK. FOR VERSA BRAKE, I FEEL LIKE IT IS DESIGNED TO BRAKE AT LEAST 30FT AHEAD, IT TOTALLY DOES NOT WORK FOR EMERGENCY. I NEVER LET MY MOM DRIVE THAT CAR BECAUSE HER EYES COULD NOT SEE THAT FAR! ALSO, WHEN THE AC IS ON, THE BRAKE GETS EVEN WORSE! IT IS WAY SOFTER AND SPONGIER AND WAY LESS PRESSURE, SO I ALWAYS HAVE TO TURN OFF THE AC FOR THE SAKE OF MY LIFE! PLEASE HELP US INVESTIGATE THE BRAKING SYSTEM! IT IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR ALL FUTURE DRIVERS WITH VERSA!

THE BRAKE PEDAL IS ALSO VERY SOFT AND SPONGY, I APPLY ALL THE WAY AND THE CAR STILL KEEPS SLIDING. I OFTEN END UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CROSSWALK. YESTERDAY, I WAS STUCK IN FREEWAY TRAFFIC AND ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT TWICE BECAUSE THE BRAKE JUST SLOWED DOWN THE CAR FOR A LITTLE BIT EVEN WHEN I ENGAGED HALF WAY, AND IT FELT LIKE THE CAR STILL JERKED AGAINST THE BRAKING FORCE! IT IS NOT OK AND TOTALLY UNSAFE! I REALLY LOOK FORWARD TO A BRAKE RECALL!

WITH 68 MILES ON CAR, A CLICK SOUND IS ALWAYS HEARD EACH TIME THE AIR CONDITIONING BUTTON IS PRESSED TO ON POSITION/LIGHT AND THE ENGINE SMELLS HOT AND GIVES OFF A BURNING SMELL EVERY SINGLE TIME THE CAR GOES OVER 65 MPH/ACCELERATION FROM 60 TO 65MPH OR FROM ANY OTHER SPEED/MPH UP TO 65MPH MAKES THE SMELL OF A HOT ENGINE. THERE IS NO SMOKING BUT THE AIR IN THE CAR SMELLS AT 65MPH SO I GO 60MPH TO PREVENT THE SMELL BECAUSE IT MAKES ME VERY NERVOUS. THE CAR HAS NOT LOST COMPRESSION AT ANY SPEED/CLIMBS HILLS/BUT THE SMELL HAPPENS WHEN CLIMBING A HILL AS WELL AS BEING IN MOTION AT ANY SPEED OR MPH CLIMBING THE STEEP HILLS OF NY. FOR INSTANCE IF THE SPEED LIMIT IS 30MPH AT THE BOTTOM OF A HILL AND 55MPH AT THE TOP OF THE HILL, THE CARS ENGINE WILL SMELL HOT. NO GAGES OR RED LIGHTS OCCUR TO INDICATE OVERHEATING. RADIATOR IS NOT A PROBLEM BECAUSE THERE IS NO LIGHT OR NO STEAM OR SMOKE TO INDICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION. IT IS A STANDARD/MANUAL SHIFT. AND I DID EXPERIENCE THE PEDAL OPERATION COMPROMISED WHEN MY SHOE WAS CAUGHT UNDER THE SIDE PANEL. I CHANGED SHOES THEN THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED....EXCEPT FOR THE RECALL WHICH IS NECESSARY.

I HAVE HAD MY NISSAN VERSA 2015 SV SINCE APRIL OF LAST YEAR WITH A AUTOMATIC CVT TRANSMISSION IT CURRENTLY HAS 20,300 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE TWO PROBLEMS THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I RENTED A 2015 NISSAN VERSA NOTE FROM BUDGET RENTAL OUT OF THE PROV RI AIRPORT ON 1-12-16 TO GO TO A WAKE & FUNERAL. AFTER LEAVING THE WAKE AND ABOUT 7:30PM NOT LONG AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND TRAVELING 1/2 MILE I LOST BOTH THE ABILITY TO BRAKE AND STEER, I WASN'T GOING MORE THAN 10 MPH . THE VEHICLE LOST CONTROL OF BOTH THE STEERING AND THE BRAKES WERE HARD AND UNRESPONSIVE. THE VEHICLE CROSSED TO OTHER LANE AND SLOWLY BRUSHED AGAINST A TELEPHONE POLE. I GOT OUT AND DIDN'T SEE ANY DAMAGE. I DROVE THE VEHICLE APX 1.5 MILES TO MY BROTHERS HOUSE AND PARKED IT FOR THE NIGHT. THE NEXT MORNING I WAS LEAVING AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A SMALL DENT ON THE FENDER SO I WAS GOING TO LOOK AT THE POLE 1.5 MILES AWAY AND BACKED THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND STARTED TO PULL FORWARD AND 12-15 FEET GOING FORWARD THE STEERING AND BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK. I GOT OUT AND SAW THAT THE WHEELS WERE BOTH POINTED IN AND AFTER LOOKING CLOSER NOTICED THAT THE LEFT STERING CONNECTOR THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE ENGAGED TO THE RACK IN PINION STERING WAS NOT ENGAGED AND ONLY THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WOULD SPIN. I VIDEO TAPED THE TIRE TRACKS THAT THE VEHICLE TRAVELED AND THAT THE WHEELS WERE BOTH POINTED IN ( WHICH COULDN'T HAVE BEEN DRIVEN 1.5 MILES FROM THE ACCIDENT) CALLED BUDGET RENTAL, LET THEM KNOW , THEY DISPATCHED TOW DRIVER AND HE AND I WINCHED THE WHEELS SO THEY COULD BE PLACED ON DOLLY FOR TOW. I TOOK PICTURES OF TOW DRIVER. I INFORMED BUDGETS MECHANIC OF WHEEL ISSUE AND HE SAID HE WOULD HAVE NISSAN LOOK AT IT. I FELT JUSTIFIED THAT MY ACCOUNT OF THE INCIDIDENT WAS NOT IN QUESTION. I THEN VIDEOED THE POLE, TIRE TRACKS AND THE 1.5 MILE DRIVE TO MY BROTHERS HOME. BUDGET THEN SENT MY INSURANCE CO A BILL FOR THE BODY WORK BUT FAILED TO MENTION ANYTHING THAT SUPPORTED MY CLAIM AS TO THE STEERING. I HAVE DVD'S PICTURES AND VIDEO PERTINENT SUPPORTING THIS CLAIM. NISSAN HAS INFORMED ME THAT THE PROBLEMS IS A NORMAL CONDITION FOR THIS MODEL AND THEREFORE NO FIX OR SOLUTION IS AVAILABLE. THE MAIN CONCERN IS THAT WHEN DRIVING AT OVER 65 MILES PER HOUR YOU HAVE TO FIGHT THE STEERING TO COMPENSATE FOR THE SHIFTING. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT SPARKS/NISSAN IN MONROE LOUISIANA STATES THAT THE MODEL IS A NORMAL SITUATION. IF THIS IS TRUE THEN WHY HAS THE SALES STAFF NOT INFORMED THE CUSTOMERS THAT A SITUATION COULD EXIST? THE CAR SHOULD BE DEEMED A SAFETY HAZARD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AS UNDER NORMAL CITY LOW SPEED DRIVING THE CONDITION IS NOT NOTICED. NISSAN CORPORATION 615-7257445 WILL DO NOTHING, MY CASE #2035821 COMPLAINT. I AM ASKING FOR A REPURCHASE BY NISSAN TO THE DEALERSHIP IN HOPES OF BUYING A CAR DEEMED TO BE SAFE. THE PROBLEM WAS NOTICED ON A LONG TRIP FROM LOUISIANA TO FLORIDA AND BACK IN SEPTEMBER.

BY JULY 3, 2015 I TOOK IT IN AGAIN AFTER HEARING A HORRIFIC SOUND WHEN TURNING THE WHEELS TO THE RIGHT, THE WHEEL BARING HAD GONE OUT CAUSING THE BRAKES TO GOUGE THE ROTORS MY CAR ONLY HAD 8304 MILES ON IT, I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN SEPT 2014, THE WHEEL BEARING WAS REPLACED AND THE ROTOR RESURFACED. CAR WAS GREAT FOR 2 1/2 WEEKS TODAY 8/6/15 I TOOK MY CAR IN BECAUSE THE GRINDING NOISE STARTED AGAIN JUST LIKE LAST TIME, TODAY I WAS TOLD ROTORS WERE WARPED CAUSING THE BRAKE PADS NOT CONNECTING PROPERLY THE THE ROTORS. THIS CAR HESITATES. I PUSH THE ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY DOWN AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I JUST ROLL. WHEN I MAKE A LEFT TURN - I HAVE CARS BEHIND ME HONKING AT ME TO GET MOVING, BUT NOTHING WORKS. THEN, SUDDENLY THE CAR SHOOTS FORWARD. THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME AND NOT ONLY ON LEFT TURNS, BUT THEY ARE THE WORST. BEFORE MAKING A LEFT TURN, EVERYONE MAKES SURE THERE IS NO CAR APPROACHING. BUT, EVERY LEFT TURN IS A REAL ISSUE FOR ME, BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW IF THE CAR IS GOING TO MOVE. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER TWICE, ONLY TO BE TOLD IT WAS FINE WHEN THEY TESTED IT AND BRING IT BACK WHEN IT DOESN'T WORK RIGHT. I WAS EVEN TOLD THAT THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDALS ARE CLOSE TOGETHER AND MAYBE I WAS PUSHING BOTH OF THEM AT THE SAME TIME. SO, IT WAS A WOMAN'S CRAZY PROBLEM SHE WAS CREATING HERSELF. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO.

THEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I PULLED OVER AND I PULLED THE PEDAL OUT AND LET GO AND IT SHOT BACK TO THE FLOOR IT FELT LIKE THERE WAS A LARGE SPRING PULLING ON THE PEDAL. I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND SAW OIL SPLATTERS THAT APPEARED TO BE COMING FROM THE SLAVE CYLINDER. THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING US THAT IT IS ABUSE HOWEVER THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN ON OPEN HIGHWAYS WITHOUT IT BEING NECESSARY TO SHIFT FOR 95% OF ITS SHORT 4400 MILES LIFE ! *TR

Summary

I PURCHASED A NEW 2105 NISSAN VERSA 4DR. SEDAN IN JANUARY 2015. I BOUGHT A BASIC CAR, AS I DESIRE. THE CAR HAS NON-POWER WINDOWS AND NON-REMOTE OR POWER DOOR LOCKS. I DISCOVERED LATER THAT THE CAR DOES NOT HAVE ANY WAY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE TO ACCESS THE CAR IF THE DOORS ARE LOCKED. THERE IS NO KEYHOLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE LOCKED CAR CANNOT BE ACCESSED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IN AN EMERGENCY (OR IF THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS BLOCKED SUCH AS BY A CAR PARKING TOO CLOSE OR AN OBJECT) . IN MY CASE, I HAVE TWO CHILDREN WHO RIDE IN THE BACK. WHAT MAKES THIS WORSE IS THE CAR HAS A CHILD SAFETY FEATURE THAT MAKES THE DOORS IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE IF A BUTTON IS PUSHED IN THE DOOR JAMBS (BY A PARENT). IF THE FEATURE IS ENGAGED, A PERSON (PARENT) CANNOT GET ACCESS TO THE CAR EXCEPT THRU THE DRIVER'S DOOR WHICH MIGHT BE BLOCKED. THIS SET OF CIRCUMSTANCES RENDERS THE CAR INHERENTLY UNSAFE IN MY VIEW. NISSAN CUT A CORNER HERE TO SAVE MONEY AND HAS CAUSED THIS SAFETY CONCERN AS A RESULT. THIS CAR SHOULD BE CONSIDERED UNSAFE. *TR
