Summary

On August 21 2021, I was out shopping. When I went out to return home, the car would not start. I could not jump start it or anything. I had it towed to the dealer. I found out from Porsche and dealership that my car was disabled by Porsche Connect. I do not have this service or pay for it. On Friday Sept 3, I was informed by Porsche customer service that it disabled my car because the original owner (in 2015) changed their phone number. So Porsche assumed stolen and shut down. I did not authorize this, I did not sign up for this service. They will not fix the car because they say it is out of warranty. Because I do not know the code to turn the car back on, they want to replace parts and say I have to get the Porsche Connect App. This is a known issue at Porsche because the dealer found a TSB on it. They are not taking responsibility for shutting down the car with out my permission. This is a safety issue depending on where I could have been.

Summary

After the emissions recall was performed the vehicle has an issue that when turning a corner the engine will not produce any power and will not shift down in order to get the car to accelerate. You get no response from the throttle pedal unless you depress it fully to the floor and then the car will jerk and accelerate uncontrollably. This creates an unsafe condition when trying to pull out into traffic. I have almost been in an accident multiple times because of this with oncoming cars and with cars following me as they are trying to merge also and my vehicle will not accelerate. I have driven a vehicle identical to mine that has not had the emissions recall performed and it does not have this issue.

MY PORSCHE CAYENNE DIESEL HAS HAD THE PORSCHE DIESEL EMISSIONS SETTLEMENT PROGRAM "FIX" COMPLETED. SINCE THE "FIX" THE VEHICLE HAS BECOME DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS. WHEN MERGING, TURNING A SLOW SPEED CORNER OR ROLLING THROUGH A YIELD SIGN THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT LAG/DELAY FROM THE TIME THE THROTTLE INPUT HAPPENS AND A RESPONSE FROM THE MOTOR. THIS DELAY HAS BEEN AS LONG AS 2 SECONDS LEADING TO NUMEROUS NEAR MISSES. PORSCHE HAS INSISTED THE VEHICLE IS FINE AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. ON MAR 16, 2018, AT 04:28 PM, "(XXXX)(PCNA, CR_EXT)" <(XXXX)@PORSCHE.US> WROTE: GOOD AFTERNOON MR. (X), I AM SORRY TO LEARN OF YOUR DISSATISFACTION WITH YOUR VEHICLE. IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE EPA/CARB APPROVED EMISSIONS MODIFICATION, THE SHIFTING BEHAVIOR HAS BEEN ADJUSTED. ADDITIONALLY, THE ENHANCED AUTOMATIC ENGINE BRAKING FEATURE HAS BEEN REMOVED. PORSCHE CARS NORTH AMERICA AS PART OF THE EPA/CARB SETTLEMENT MODIFIED THE 2015 CAYENNE IN A MANNER TO COMPLY WITH THE ORIGINAL EMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS. THE MODIFICATION HAS SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECTED PERFORMANCE I SUCH A WAY THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOW DANGEROUS IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS. WHEN MERGING ONTO HIGHWAYS OR ATTEMPTING TO OVERTAKE THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT LACK OF RESPONSE TO THROTTLE INPUT LEADING TO NEAR MISSES BY OTHER VEHICLES. THIS HAS BECOME MORE PRONOUNCED AS THE MODIFICATIONS HAVE HAD TIME TO ADAPT OVER TIME. PORSCHE HAS CONTINUED TO DENY AN ISSUE AND STATES THE VEHICLE IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED AFTER THE MODIFICATION. THIS SUMS UP OUR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS VEHICLE, IT IS TO THE POINT THAT IT IS UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE

PANORAMIC GLASS ROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED. WAS DRIVING ALONG A FAIRLY QUIET FREEWAY (BIG DISTANCE TO CAR IN FRONT AND NO CARS IN NEIGHBOURING LANE). ALL OF A SUDDEN LARGE BANG AND GLASS FELL DOWN ON THE 3 PASSENGERS IN THE BACK. MANY SMALL PIECES AND A FEW LARGE PIECES. PASSENGERS WERE CUT, BLOOD VISIBLE. KEPT FINDING GLASS IN OUR CLOTHES' POCKETS FEW DAYS FOLLOWING. EVEN AFTER REPAIR, FOUND A PIECE OF GLASS BY THE WINDOW THIS MORNING. FORTUNATELY LITTLE GLASS FEEL IN THE FRONT AND I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER A SPEAK TO PORSCHE. THEY TOLD ME IT WILL NEED TO COME INTO THE SHOP AND THEY WILL FIGURE OUT WHAT WENT WRONG. DESPITE BEING TOLD THIS WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY ON THE PHONE (I ASKED MULTIPLE TIMES AND EVERYONE IN THE CAR KEPT TELLING ME TO), WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP THE CAR I WAS HIT WITH A BILL FOR PARTS AND LABOUR, RENTAL INSURANCE (THEY DID COVER THE BASE RENTAL PRICE). ALSO THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT WENT WRONG, THEY SAY A ROCK HIT IT, BUT NONE OF US ARE ENTIRELY CONVINCED BY THIS.
