Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS
Incident Date: 01/07/2022
Crash: No
Fire: No
Vehicle Identification Number: WVWBW8AH4FV******
Summary

The horn stopped working and the air bag icon warning light came on. The center console display is not working. My biggest concern is that of the Steering Wheel airbag not deploying in case of an accident. Told that there is a Clock Spring mechanism inside of the steering wheel that controls these functions and needs to be replaced. Cost is around$400-$600. Trying to determine why this safety feature was not recalled if in fact the air bag system was compromised with a faulty part. Need to know how to diagnose this defective part before I have a technician pull the steering wheel apart.

Summary

I was driving down the freeway at about 4:00 pm in the afternoon when my sunroof suddenly shattered. I was not near an overpass so nothing could have fallen on it. It was not an overly warm day so I don't think it was the heat. I can only conclude that it spontaneously exploded.
