This is the second failed (1/1/2022) camshaft position sensor on separate cylinder (#4), p/n 06E-103-697-AE. First one failed 3/05/2021. There are 8 of these adjusters on the particular engine. I have asked the dealer to retain the part. Safety is related to engine operation...malfunction indicator light is lit and vehicle/engine fails emissions inspection. Problem has been confirmed by dealer, Audi Silver Spring, MD. Vehicle is being repaired by Audi dealer at my cost. Second time $500. Yes, engine malfunction indicator light is on and vehicle fails emission inspection.
Sunroof exploded while driving. All windows and sunroof closed also sunscreen was closed. I heard a terrifying loud explosion then I heard all the glass shattering and falling on the sunscreen. I pulled over and called police because I thought it was a gunshot. But no evidence of a gunshot, rock, bird or object. Sunscreen is intact. It was on Christmas day so was not a hot day and no heater turned on at the time.
The contact owns a 2017 Audi A3. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. There was an abnormal buzzing sound detected. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21V198000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact called the local dealer who stated that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified but, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The front-passenger airbag deactivated while my father was riding in the car and the corresponding warning light came on. The error first occurred prior to the Mar 2021 Recall. I notified Audi multiple times that my vehicle had this problem, but Audi has not repaired it or offered me an alternative option.
The contact owns a 2017 Audi A3. The contact stated that while placing the gear shifter into PARK, the vehicle would reverse. The "Put Vehicle In Park Immediately" warning message was displayed, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drive it to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer-scheduled for the vehicle to be towed to an authorized dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.
Hello, My vehicle has a non working passenger seat airbag due to a malfunctioning PODS (Passenger Occupant Detection Sensor). Audi states that such cannot be fixed as a fix has not yet been approved. It has been seven months since this recall has been issued and I am afraid to carry passengers in my vehicle due to the non-functioning airbag. How can I have my vehicle repaired on an expeditious fashion? Thank you,
The contact owns a 2017 Audi A3. The contact stated that the front driver’s side seat belt buckle locking mechanism malfunctioned, and the seat belt could not be securely latched. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the seat belt needed to be replaced. The failure was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.
Vehicle tank was almost empty. Was unable to fill the tank because the gas station pump stopped constantly without being full. Took 15 minutes to fill the tank. Fuel came out of my tank and a very unpleasant fuel odor came into the car. When arrived home gasoline came out of the tank again, a significant amount of fuel came out. Fortunately the car didn't catch fire. Took it to a mechanic and the gasoline pump valve was replaced. This valve is under the rear seats. No recall available for my car for this issue. I was told that VW/AUDI knows well about this issue but they didn't include all VIN numbers on this recall. I ended paying $140 for this repair.
There has been an open recall on my car since March 2021 (NHTSA recall number 21V198) which prevents the passenger airbag from functioning properly. Because the airbag isn't working it also disables my forward collision assistance. It took Audi 2 months to mail notice of the recall and 6 months later there is still no remedy or timeframe for a remedy. A recall affecting an airbag should not linger for 6 months. I can't, in good conscience, have someone ride in the passenger seat of my car, and having this recall unfixed has tanked the re-sell value of my car. Having a recall outstanding for half a year with no communication from the manufacturer on a timeframe is completely unacceptable. Doesn't the manufacturer have a burden to fix a serious passenger safety issue within a reasonable amount of time? What happens if Audi never develops a fix?
Passenger airbag sporadically turns off, and constantly shows the seat belt unfastened (unclear if something is wrong with its functionality also). This also turned off the Audi presense/ auto stop feature at the same time. When I told Audi this at the dealership, they said they had no solution other than 'don't sit in the passenger seat', and had no idea when it might end
2017 AUDI A3. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO PASSENGER OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER ADVISED THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE PODS SYSTEM AND IT WAS UNKNOWN WHEN IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO USE THE PASSENGER SEAT.
The contact owns a 2017 Audi A3. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign number: 21V198000 (Air Bags). The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The part was not available for the repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
Tied to recall 69BY Dealership continues to say parts are not available.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 AUDI A3. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 21V198000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED AUDI OAKLAND (7201 OAKPORT ST, OAKLAND, CA 94621, (510) 984-7906) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE CAR AIRBAG WARNING SIGN COMES OFF THAT PASSENGER AIR BAG MIGHT NOT BE DEPLOY BECAUSE OF FAULT SENSOR. IT HAS BEEN RECALLED. I TRIED TO REACH OUT TO THE AUDI DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THAT SINCE MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY, THIS WILL NOT BE FIXED.
ENGINE STALLS WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THIS CONDITION HAS BEEN DANGEROUS. CAR HAS BEEN TO THE AUDI DEALER 3 TIMES TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THAT CANNOT DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. IT IS GOING IN FOR A 4TH TIME APRIL 12TH 2021. THIS ISSUE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THE CAR WILL LOSE POWER AND STALL AS YOU ARE PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. HAPPENS DAILY.
2017 AUDI A3 SEDAN- WITH AROUND 47,000 MILES -STALLED OUT IN DRIVE THRU AND AT A RED LIGHT INTERSECTION. TWICE. ALMOST GOT IN 2 ACCIDENTS WHILE DRIVING ONCE ON THE HIGHWAY AND ONCE ON A CITY ROAD. ENGINE LIGHT ON DASH WAS BLINKING. CODE READER INITIALLY WAS READING P0300, P0301 AND P0302 .. MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRES. TOWED CAR TO AUDI, AND THEY DID COMPLETE MAINTENANCE SERVICE. RAN CODES AND NOW ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND THE CODE IS P0172 BANK 1 SYSTEM TOO RICH. I NOTICED THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE THE ENGINE CONTROL UNIT (ECU) SOFTWARE AND WHICH CAN AFFECT AIR / FUEL MIXTURE WHICH MAKES ME THINK THAT THIS RECALL WAS PROBABLY THE CAUSE, BECAUSE PO172 CODE CAN BE DUE TO THE AIR/ FUEL MIXTURE GETTING TOO FAR FROM FACTORY SPECS. MY CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 6 WEEKS, THE TRANSMISSION WAS FINALLY REPLACED BY AUDI BUT THEY ARE STILL SAYING THAT I NEED A NEW FUEL CANISTER (THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS IN 2016, AND MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN 2016 BUT IS A 2017 MODEL) ? I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL OTHER 2017 AUDI A3 SEDAN OWNER COMPLAINTS HAVING THIS ISSUE WITH VERY SIMILAR PROBLEM ON THIS WEBSITE AND OTHER WEBSITES. I WAS UNDER WARRANTY UNTIL 1/25/2021, BUT I LIVE 2 HOURS AWAY AND I WAS UNDER QUARANTINE SO BOOKED APPOINTMENT LOCALLY (I THINK ON 1/22/2021 WITH VOLKSWAGEN BUT SCHEDULING WAS A WEEK OUT AND ON APPOINTMENT DATE THEIR ENTIRE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS OUT BECAUSE OF COVID OUTBREAK BY THAT TIME IT WAS TOO LATE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A TIME AND DATE STAMPED VIDEO OF THE CAR HAVING ISSUES.
THE VEHICLE WAS AFFECTED PREVIOUSLY AND CONFIRMED FIXED BY AUDI UNDER RECALL 69Z4 FOR THE OCCUPANT SENSOR. THE AIRBAG, SEATBELT, AUDI PRESENSE ERROR LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE AT TIMES REGARDLESS OF WHETHER AN OCCUPANT IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT GOING ON AND OFF SPORADICALLY WHILE DRIVING OR STATIONARY. THE VEHICLE IS ELIGIBLE TO BE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY, HOWEVER IT APPEARS THEIR ORIGINAL FIX UNDER THE RECALL WAS NOT ADEQUATE IN RESOLVING THE OCCUPANT AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT AND POSES A SAFETY HAZARD TO PASSENGERS IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO TURN OFF WHILE AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED. AFTER A RECENT DIAGNOSTIC THE CODES THAT APPEARED ARE SIMILAR TO WHAT WOULD OCCUR PRIOR TO AUDI'S "FIX" TO THE RECALL.
REGARDLESS OF FRONT SEAT PASSENGER PRESENCE: 'PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF', 'SEATBELT OFF', AND 'PRE SENSE OFF' WARNING MESSAGES ILLUMINATE AT CAR START, RESTART, DRIVE, PARK, RESTART, REPEAT. UNABLE TO CLEAR WARNINGS. ALSO APPEARS IN VEHICLE DASH WARNING SYSTEM. STARTED NOTICING INTERMITTENTLY AFTER AIRBAG RECALL ADDRESSED, NOT SURE IF EXACT DATE. NOW, THE MALFUNCTION IS CONSTANT.
PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE WHILE PASSENGER IS SEATED. NUMEROUS ERROR CODES WILL FLASH ON DASH. CAR ON HIGHWAY, IN MOTION.AFTER A FEW MINUTES, LIGHT WILL TURN OFF AND ERROR CODES DISAPPEAR.
THE SEAT SENSOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS FAULTY, CAUSING THE AIR BAG LIGHT TO STATY ON WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE - THE "PRE-SENSE" LIGHT TO STAY ON - AND THE UN-BUCKLED SEAT BELT ALARM TO STAY GOING OFF. ALL WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. THE BRAND DEALERSHIP SAID AIRBAG MAYNOT DEPLOY WHILE SEAT SENSOR IS MALFUCTIONING. $1200 REPAIR.
I WAS REFILLING MY FUEL TANK OF MY VEHICLE AT GAS STATION, BUT IT KEPT CLICKING OFF WITH THE BACK PRESSURE AS IF THE TANK WAS FULL. I TRIED FILLING SLOWLY TO SEE IF THAT WOULD WORK, IT DID THE SAME THING. . I LEFT AND ON MY WAY ON THE HIGHWAY, A YOUNG MAN SIGNALED ME TO PULL OVER, I WAS HESITANT, BUT DID SO. HE SHOWED ME THAT FUEL WAS DRAINING FROM MY CAR. LUCKILY , I DID NOT HAVE A FIRE AS IT WAS CLOSE TO THE MUFFLER SYSTEM. I GOT IT TO A NEARBY MECHANIC SHOP TO SEE WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM IT WAS NOT A BURST HOSE NOR A TANK LEAK , HOWEVER THEY FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS THE SIPHON HOSE THAT WAS BLOCKED , IT WAS NOT. THEY TRACED THE FUEL LEAK TO THE EVAP SYSTEM AND FOUND THAT THE CHARCOAL CANISTER WAS FILLED WITH FUEL. AND THE CAR STILL WOULD NOT TAKE ANY FUEL BECAUSE BACK PRESSURE, KEPT FORCING THE FUEL OUT. UPON SEEING THAT THEY ADVISED ME TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE AUDI DEALER IN CORAL SPRING FLORIDA. I DID SO AND TOLD THEM OF THE PROBLEM AND ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. THEY SAID NO. I POINTED OUT TO THEM THAT THE 2016 AUDI A3 HAS A RECALL THAT IS EXACTLY AS WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY CAR. RECALL # 16V647000 THIS WAS ISSUED BETWEEN SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER OF 2016. THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD DIAGNOSE MY CAR FOR $390.00 I OK"D THAT. THIS IS THEIR DIAGNOSIS: 1 FUEL TANK = S2654.00 PLUS TAX/SS I AM NOT IN AGREEMENT WITH THAT AND CALLED TO AUDI AMERICA AND MADE MY COMPLAINT, THE YOUNG LADY " MORGAN " TOOK MY COMPLAINT AND MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP RE THEIR ASSESSMENT AND CALL ME BACK. SHE CALLED ME WITH NO REAL ANSWERS EXCEPT TO SAY THAT I HAVE A RIGHT TO A SECOND OPINION. I TOLD HER THAT I INTENDED TO DO SO AND TO MAKE A COMPLAINT TO YOUR AGENCY, AND THE FTC AS THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. SHE SAID IT WAS MY RIGHT. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
BOTH FRONT DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS (DRLS) FADING TO YELLOW COLOR. THE DRLS LOOK LIKE THEY ARE OFF WHEN DRIVING IN THE DAYTIME. THE LED STRIP IS ALSO FADED WHEN HEADLIGHT CONTROL IS SWITCHED TO ON. LIMITS VISIBILITY IN THE NIGHTTIME. THIS CONDITION OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED, IN MOTION, AND AFTER MULTIPLE RESTARTS. *TR
MY CAR AFTER STARTING (WITH ENGINE EITHER COOL OR WARM) WILL STALL AT TIMES WHEN I'M GOING2-3 MPH. I HAVE STALLED AT INTERSECTIONS. I GO TO PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS AND THE CAR WILL SPUTTER AND STALL. IT WILL THEN RESTART WITH A LITTLE DIFFICULTY THOUGH STARTS BACK UP. THERE ARE NO ICONS THAT ILLUMINATE ON THE DASHBOARD WITH ANY PROBLEM. THERE ARE NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS OR BATTERY LIGHTS THAT ARE GOING OFF.
WHEN DRIVING OFF AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE CAR STARTS JERKING AND 'KNOCKING' AND STALLS/TURNS OFF. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERYDAY AS I REVERSE OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY AND DRIVE FORWARD. EXTREMELY UNSAFE! DOES NOT SHOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY OTHER LIGHTS.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 AUDI A3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V474000 (AIR BAGS) WAS RECEIVED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED IN REFERENCE TO THE RECALL. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
RIGHT FRONT TIRE FLATTENED TWICE IN 6 MONTHS, FROM SLOW DRIVING ON A ROUGH ROAD. IN THE PRIOR 7 YEARS WITH ANOTHER CAR, THIS NEVER HAPPENED. DEALER DENIES ANY PROBLEM. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN THE GARAGE FOR 6 MONTHS; I CANNOT RISK BEING STRANDED ON A REMOTE ROAD, AT NIGHT, WITH NO CELL SERVICE AGAIN.
I WILL BE DRIVING AND STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND WHEN I GO LET MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK TO START DRIVING AGAIN MY CAR THEN SPAZZES AND SAYS PLEASE SHIFT CAR INTO PARK AND I AM UNABLE TO DIVE MY CAR AND I HAVE TO RESTART IT A FEW TIMES TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE AGAIN. IT IS VER SCARY BECAUSE EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND I CAN'T MOVE. IT'S ALWAYS HAPPENED WHEN I AM AT A LIGHT OR A STOP SIGN. IT HAS HAPPENED A TOTAL OF 10 TIMES SINCE I HAVE HAD MY CAR AND WHEN I BROUGHT IT TO AUDI THEY TOLD ME THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR
THE CAR PURCHASED IN DEC 2016. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS RAINING OUTSIDE; DRIVERS VISIBITY REDUCED GREATLY, MAKING THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE. AUDI REPLACED THE WIPERS BUT DENIED THERE WAS ANY PROBLEM! THOUGH, AVOIDING DRIVING IN THE RAIN, I COMPLIANED TO AUDI SEVERAL TIMES. IT WAS IN AUGUST OF 2017, WHEN AUDI FINALLY ADMITTED TO ME, THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE WINDSHIELD. THEIR SOLUTION WAS TO PUT SOME "FILM" ON THE WINDSHEILD" IN MY VIEW, THERE SHOULD BE A MAJOR RECALL ON ALL 2017 AUDI A3 FOR WINDSHEILD REPLACEMENT. DOES ANYONE KNOW, HOW MANY ACCIDENTS WERE CAUSED IN THIS VEHICLE DUE TO POOR VISIBILTY? PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER. I TRULY BELEIVE THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. ALSO, IF A "FILM" IS APPLIED WILL THAT COMPROMISE THE INTEGRITY OF THE WINDSHEILD IN THE FUTURE? WHTA IF THE FILM WEARS OFF, ETC. MY WINDSHIELD CRACKED, THE DEALER SAYS ROAD DEBRIS CAUSED IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 AUDI A3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER (AUDI WEST HOUSTON, 15865 KATY FWY, HOUSTON, TX 77094, (855) 627-2941) MADE NO MENTION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V508000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) BEFORE SELLING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V196000 (AIR BAGS) OF WHICH THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER (AUDI CENTRAL HOUSTON, 2120 SOUTHWEST FWY, HOUSTON, TX 77098, (855) 627-5368) STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE NOT COMPLETED PRIOR TO SELLING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
THE SHOULDER STRAP OF THE FRONT SEAT BELT IS A FEW INCHES FROM MY BODY WHEN FASTENED. I AM TALL AND SKINNY SO THIS MAY NOT BE AN ISSUE WITH OTHER BODY TYPES. THE PROBLEM IS DUE TO A RIGID SEAT BELT RECEPTACLE THAT IS TILTED FORWARD AND FIXED IN PLACE. EVERY OTHER AUDI MODEL HAS A FLEXIBLE SEAT BELT RECEPTACLE WHICH ALLOWS THE SHOULDER STRAP TO FIT SNUGLY AGAINST MY BODY. ONLY THE A3 HAS THIS ISSUE. I HAVE THE SEAT BACK AS FAR FORWARD AS IS COMFORTABLE.
WE ARE WORRIED ABOUT A DANGEROUS DEFICIENCY IN THE PORTABLE EVSE/CHARGER FOR OUR A3 SPORTBACK E-TRON. IT GETS VERY HOT DURING STANDARD 12- VOLT CHARGING AND IT MIGHT CAUSE A FIRE. I DISCOVERED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL, THAT ITS OPERATING RANGE HAS A MAXIMUM OF 95 DEGREES F. OUR AVERAGE SUMMER TEMPERATURE IN THE CALIFORNIA CENTRAL VALLEY IS REGULARLY ABOVE 95F. IT IS ALSO REGULARLY EXCEEDED IN MANY OTHER US STATES, PLUS THE MIDDLE EAST WHERE AUDI SELLS MANY OF THEIR E-TRONS. OUR PERMANENT EVSE IN OUR GARAGE IS A HIGHER AMPERAGE RATED EVSE AND IT DOES NOT HAVE THIS LIMITATION. HERE IS AUDI'S REPLY TO MY REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ON THIS DEFICIENCY IN THEIR PORTABLE EVSE: "IT APPEARS THE CREATORS OF THE EVSE CHARGER ARE CONSIDERED A TRADE SECRET AND WE ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE THAT INFORMATION. HOWEVER, IT SEEMS THAT YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. THE PORTABLE CHARGER OPERATING TEMPERATURE IS ONLY UP TO 95, AS IT HAS NO VENTING OR COOLING UNLIKE LARGER UNITS. DUE TO THE FACT THAT WEATHER TEMPERATURES OFTEN EXCEEDS THE LIMIT IN CALIFORNIA, YOU ARE WELCOMED TO PURCHASE A DIFFERENT CHARGING SOLUTION THAT CAN SUPPORT YOUR ENVIRONMENT." SO, I AM WELCOME TO PURCHASE MY OWN PORTABLE EVSE, BECAUSE THE ONE PROVIDED WHEN I PURCHASED MY AUDI BRAND NEW IN FEB. 2017 IS INADEQUATE AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TO USE IN MANY PARTS OF THE USA. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS PART AND DETERMINE WHETHER WE CAN SAFELY USE IT WHEN THE TEMPERATURE EXCEEDS 95F AND IF A RECALL IS NECESSARY.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FOR MY 18 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AS A PARENT YOU WANT TO HAVE YOU CHILD AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE.THE VEHICLE IS ANYTHING BUT SAFE. AS A MATTER OF FACT IT'S AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. OR WORST A FATALITY.THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING JUST TURNS OFF. IT WASN'T EVEN A MONTH INTO OWNING THE BRAND NEW VEHICLE THAT ISSUES STARTED TO ARISE. WHILE REVERSING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, THE VEHICLE STOPPED WITHOUT ANY WARNING.ABOUT 4 WEEKS LATER, WHILE ENTERING THE EXPRESSWAY,ONCE AGAIN THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING COMPLETELY TURN OFF. BY A MIRACLE OF GOD MY DAUGHTER DID NOT GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS MANY OTHER VEHICLES ARE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS. ON 3/31/17 THE VEHICLE WAS TAKE TO THE COLLECTION,WHERE THEY COULD NOT TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS SINCE THEY THEMSELVES HAD NO CLUE. BUT THEY DID TELL ME THAT THERE WAS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM SINCE WHEN THEY CONNECTED THE VEHICLE TO THE COMPUTER IT GAVE SPORADIC ERROR CODES. I WAS TOLD THAT AUDI CORPORATE OFFICE WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED THE COLLECTION TO INSPECT THE FUEL SYSTEM AND HOSE, ELECTRICAL WIRING, AND VEHICLE PROGRAM ALL OF WHICH I WAS TOLD WAS DONE. ON 4/27/17 ANOTHER INCIDENT OCCURRED. WHILE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN, THE VEHICLE STOPPED. THE VEHICLE BEHIND MY DAUGHTER WAS ALSO TURNING RIGHT BEHIND HER AND ALMOST REAR ENDED HER SINCE EVEN THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING T. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TRAFFIC INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RESPONDING TO THE SHIFTING OF GEARS OR TO THE ACCELERATOR. AT THIS POINT THAT VEHICLE WAS NOT RESPONDING AT ALL LEAVING MY DAUGHTER STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF ONCOMING CARS AND AGITATED DRIVERS AROUND HER. THE COLLECTION HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO THEIR SHOP WHERE IT HAS BEEN EVER SINCE. NO ONE, NOT EVEN AUDI'S CORPORATE HEAD ENGINEER HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE.
ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHEN CAR IS IN DRIVE OR REVERSE WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND DISPLAYS MESSAGE OF "START/STOP SYSTEM DEACTIVATED. PLEASE RESTART ENGINE MANUALLY. THE YELLOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THEN APPEARS. AND THE VEHICLE ROLLS AWAY UNLESS BRAKES ARE APPLIED. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES - 10 TIMES IN MY CAR, 3 IN MY FIRST LOANER CAR AND 6 IN MY SECOND LOANER CAR. THE VEHICLE IS USUALLY IN MOTION RIGHT AFTER THE ENGINE IS STARTED AND THE CAR IS DRIVEN FOR ABOUT 500 FEET, AFTER THE CAR IS GOING 3-5 MPH THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND THE CAR WILL ROLL AWAY. ON OTHER OCCASIONS WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED IN TRAFFIC THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND WILL ROLL AWAY. EACH TIME YOU MUST PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE. ON ANOTHER OCCASION A PRE SENSE MALFUNCTION OCCURRED WHERE THE CAR SLAMMED ON ITS BRAKES IN TRAFFIC AND ALMOST CAUSED A REAR END COLLISION. THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE NO ANSWERS FOR THE FIRST PART, BUT CLAIM A BUG ON THE SENSORS CAUSED THE CAR TO SLAM ON ITS BRAKES.

WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING AND THE TRANSMISSION IS IN D/S AND THE START/STOP ENGINE BUTTON IS PRESSED TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE, THE TRANSMISSION IS LEFT IN NEUTRAL AND THE CAR CAN ROLL UNIMPEDED.
