Both passenger side tires had to be replaced. The car has less than 9,000 miles. Front tire had a sidewall bubble. Rear tire had a sidewall tear with metal showing. Service men detected tire defect during routine oil chage. I do not recall any incidents that would have caused these defects. I'm a 66 year old woman and don't drive carelessly. These tires were damaged too easily and with too few miles on them. Can I apply for any replacement costs? P275/35/ZR19 and P275/40/ZR19 The vehicle was damaged and repaired on 10/8/2020. There was no tire damage at that ime.
When steering car to left 2 or 3 times some days it sticks and I have to yank it back. Obvious safety hazard and I see where other owners on car blogs/sites have experienced the same dangerous situation. Sounds like on chat rooms dealers and mfg. acting like they've never heard of such a thing. Time for a recall? I'm taking to dealer this coming Wednesday. They have a bulletin out I just saw on your website number 20-st-004hg which may be the fix. Isn't this a possible life threatening situation?Shouldn't this be a recall?
I have a Genesis G-80 2017 There was a recall earlier this year and I took my car in for that repair about a month ago. As of 7/12/21, my car feels hot from the floor up. My air conditioner works fine When I park my car in the garage and close the door, it is so hot until I will leave the gavrage door open. The recall was for the ABS system to hae a fuse system replaced that could affect more than breaks (this is what I was told). Specifically, the car was at risk for catching on fire because of this fuse. My ABS caution light is on along with other warnings and because of the recall, I am having difficulty getting my car serviced. I called Genesis Corporate and he told me not to park the car in the garage and he asked if I needed numbers to other dealerships for repair. My concern is why sale something that you are not equipped to repair? I want it documented that this car was supposedly repaired, but clearly there is something else going on I am not sure what your agency's role is with recall, but this is a government agency so I am assuming that you guys have some checks and balances in place for safety. There is something else going on with these vehicles When my car catches on fire with me in it or while parked in the garage at the hospital where I work, I wan you to know. Thank You
Hyundai Motor America and Genesis Motor America are recalling my 2017 Genesis G80 vehicle to address a risk with anti-lock break system (ABS) modules because it could malfunction internally and case an electrical short over time potentially resulting in engine compartment fire. I contacted the dealership and they claim that do not have the required part to resolve the issue. Also they do not have an estimated delivery date for the part. Please advise.
The contact owns a 2017 Genesis G80. The contact received an email from Carfax of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V160000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact called the local dealer and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The contact owns a 2017 Genesis G80. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, there was a loud sound coming from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle loses motive power and power steering functionality. The contact manually steered the vehicle over to the side of the road. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle however, there was no electrical power present. The vehicle was towed to the nearest town and was inspected by the tow truck driver. The contact was informed that the battery terminals were not properly connected. The tow truck driver reconnected the battery and restarted the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer where the mechanic replaced the passenger’s side inner fender liner. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 23,000.
CAR MAY CATCH ON FIRE BRAKES PROBLEMS HAVE A RECALL BUT PROBLEMS HAVEN'T BEEN SOLVED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 GENESIS G80. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 21V160000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. REGARDING NHTSA RECALL REPORT #21V-160 THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME CONFUSING INFORMATION REGARDING ACTION TO BE TAKEN BY THE VEHICLE OWNER. IN THE SECTION DESCRIPTION OF THE SAFETY RISK IT SAYS THAT THERE IS A RISK OF A FIRE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS "PARKED OR DRIVING". IN THE SECTION DESCRIPTION OF REMEDY IT STATES "CUSTOMERS CAN CONTINUE DRIVING THESE VEHICLES". IT SEEMS BASED ON THESE TWO STATEMENTS YOU'RE TAKING A CHANCE OF A VEHICLE FIRE IF YOU CONTINUE TO DRIVE. THE FIRST STATEMENT SAYS THE PROBLEM CAN OCCUR WHILE DRIVING AND THE SECOND SAYS YOU CAN STILL DRIVE THE VEHICLE. BASED ON INFORMATION FROM OTHER SOURCES QUOTING GENESIS THE INSTALLATION OF A PARTICULAR FUSE, LOCATED IN THE ABS MODULE WILL PREVENT THE CHANCE OF A FIRE. I'M ASSUMING THIS IS A TEMPORARY FIX SINCE GENESIS IS STILL TRYING TO LOCATE THE EXACT CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. CAN YOU ELABORATE ON EXACTLY WHAT FUSE SHOULD BE REPLACED. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND GENESIS NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT THIS FUSE STOP-GAP MEASURE AND ARE REFUSING TO LOOK FURTHER INTO THE MATTER. AT THIS POINT, BASED ON THE INFORMATION IN THE NHTSA REPORT I AM AFRAID TO USE MY CAR. CAN YOU PLEASE CLARIFY WHETHER OR NOT I CAN SAFELY OPERATE MY VEHICLE? CURRENTLY IT IS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY AS I DON'T WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE TRANSPORTING MYSELF OR FAMILY. THANK YOU.
HAVING PROBLEM WITH LED HEADLIGHTS. TURNING ORANGE. CAN'T SEE TO DRIVE
I HEARD A LOUD POP AND TIRES WAS BLOWING WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET LOSS CONTROL OF THE CAR AND INTO A DITCH
BOTH FRONT CONTINENTAL PROCONTACT TX TIRES DEVELOPED SIDEWALL BUBBLES AND REQUIRED REPLACEMENT WITH UNDER 30,000 MILES ON THEM. THIS OCCURRED FROM NORMAL DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 GENESIS G80. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND VIBRATED ABNORMALLY WHILE CHANGING GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WEBB HYUNDAI LOCATED AT 1000 WEST 81ST AVE MERRILLVILLE IN 46410, AND DIAGNOSED WITH A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.
DRIVERS SEAT TRACK HAS PLAY IN SIDE TO SIDE OR FRONT TO BACK MOTION WHEN CORNERING. THIS HAS BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY MY LOCAL GENESIS SERVICE PROVIDER. HE SAID" WE TIGHTEN THE TRACKS, SO LET ME KNOW IF IT PERSISTS". (IN WARRANTY PERIOD ;36 MONTHS) IT CONTINUES TO BE AN ISSUE ON CORNERING AND BRAKING.
WHILE DRIVING AT 75 MPH ON INTERSTATE HWY, OUR SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED. SR WAS CLOSED AND NO OBJECTS WERE SEEN OR FELT HITTING THE ROOF. NO CARS OR TRUCKS IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF OUR CAR. TEMP WAS ABOUT 65 F. HEADLINER WAS CLOSED SO MINIMAL GLASS ENTERED THE CABIN. NO INJURIES, NO OTHER CARS INVOLVED. CAR IS 27 MONTHS OLD WITH ABOUT 25K MILES. NO MAJOR PAST REPAIRS OR ACCIDENTS TO THE CAR IN THE PAST.
2017 GENESIS G80, ALL WHEEL DRIVE, 3.8 L ENGINE. CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN ON A 4 LANE EXPRESSWAY IN HEAVY, RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC USING ADVANCED CRUISE CONTROL SET NEAR SPEED LIMIT. G80 WAS IN THE LEFT LANE ATTEMPTING TO PASS A VEHICLE ON THE RIGHT. THERE WAS A VEHICLE AHEAD OF THE G80. DRIVER NOTICED ANOTHER VEHICLE COMING UP FAST FROM BEHIND UNTIL IT WAS VERY CLOSE TO THE REAR OF THE G80. WHEN DRIVER ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE AWAY FROM TAILGATING CAR, ENGINE REVVED, AND DID NOT ENGAGE. IT APPEARED DISCONNECTED FROM TRANSMISSION AS IF IN NEUTRAL. TACHOMETER NEEDLE SWUNG WILDLY. VEHICLE SLOWED SINCE IT WAS NOT ENGAGED, CREATING MORE RISK FROM TAILGATER. THE TACHOMETER BEHAVIOR AND GEAR NEUTRALITY PERSISTED FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE SECONDS AND THEN ENGINE ENGAGED. TOOK CAR TO DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE BEHAVIOR OR DETECT SYSTEM ERRORS AFTER THREE DAYS OF WORK. DEALER REPORTED THAT MANUFACTURER'S ENGINEERS WERE UNABLE TO RECOMMEND ANYTHING. NO REPAIRS MADE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 GENESIS G80. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND MAKING LEFT TURNS, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT RETURN TO ITS NORMAL POSITION. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURRED WHILE MAKING LEFT TURNS AND WOULD RETURN TO THE STRAIGHT POSITION AFTER MAKING RIGHT TURNS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWIN CITY HYUNDAI (3121 3024 ALCOA HWY, ALCOA, TN, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
THE CAR RANDOMLY DOES NOT TURN ON WHEN I PRESS THE START BUTTON. NOTHING HAPPENS. IT'S NOT THE KEY FOB EITHER BECAUSE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WORKS IN THE CAR AT THAT POINT. I CAN'T OPEN THE TRUNK USING THE BUTTON INSIDE THE CAR, LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOORS, NOTHING. THE CAR IS ESSENTIALLY A USELESS HUNK OF METAL. AFTER ABOUT 15-20 MINUTES THOUGH, THE CAR WILL JUST RANDOMLY TURN ON. I DON'T PRESS THE START BUTTON - IT'LL JUST TURN ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS SO FAR.
WHILE DRIVING ON AN INCLINE TOWARD A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF. WHILE MOVING FORWARD AS CARS PULLED OUT OF THE STOP SIGN THE CAR LURCHED (SIMILAR TO IF YOU WERE HIT FROM BEHIND) AND ALL SCREENS WENT DARK AND ALL ELECTRONICS WENT OFF. EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON WITHIN 1-2 SECONDS AND THE CAR PROCEEDED AS NORMAL.
TERRIBLE BLIND SPOT RESULTING FROM SIDE MIRRORS AND ROOF PILLARS WHEN TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT. WORSE ON RIGHT TURNS. CAN'T SEE PEDESTRIANS. THE MIRROR AND ROOF PILLAR CREATES A 24 INCH WIDE BLIND SPOT. MAKING IT WORSE IS THE FACT THAT THE POWER SEAT DOESN'T GO HIGH ENOUGH FOR ME TO SEE OVER MIRRORS( I AM 5'8"). NO ACCIDENT, ONLY CLOSE CALLS AND SURPRISES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 GENESIS G80. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. MERIDEN HYUNDAI (318 S BROAD ST, MERIDEN, CT 06450, (203) 235-1669) DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE, BUT DID NOT FIND A FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
BOUGHT CAR AS NEW MAY 2018. 1 BLOW OUT AND 4 WOUOD BE BLIWOUTS IF I DIDNT SEE BUBBLE IN TIRES PROBLEMS ARE WITH THE FRONT TIRES 33 PSI IS INCORRECT ON ROAD BALANCE MACHINE I PROVED TIRES ARE UNDER INFLATED. I MADE HYUNDAI AWARE I OWN THE CAR 10 WEEKS IT SAT AT 2 DEALERSHIPS A TOTAL OF 3 WEEKS BETWEEN ORDERING TIRES AND FIGHTING OVER WHO'S PAYING FOR IT. I ASKED MANY TIMES FOR A REGIONAL MGR TO LOOK AT THIS CAR. THEY ARE TOTALLY NEGLIGENT. NOBODY LOOKED AT AND NOBODY DROVE. WHAT THEY SAY IS TIRE MFG SAYS THAT 33 PSI IS BEST PERFORMANCE AND BEST GAS MILAGE. ITS GONNA TAKE A FATALITY FOR SOMEONE TO GET INVOLVED AND CHECK THESE CARS OUT AND I GET THE FACT THAT THERE LOW PROFILE TIRES WHICH MEANS NOTHING. I HAD A 2013 CADILLAC XTS FOR 30 MONTHS AND PUT 65K MILES ON THE CAR WITH NO PROBLEMS. I WAS A. ADDILAC CUSTOMER FOR 20 YEARS AND USED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ONCE. I HAVE THIS CAR 10 WEEKS USED ROADSIDE 3 TIMES. BOTTOM LINE ITS UNSAFE. FOR SURE THE TIRES ARE UNDER INFLATED ITS A FRONT HEAVY CAR AND PROBABLY THEY SHOULD BE USING A DIFFERENT TIRE IF ANYONE GETS INJURED OR WORSE I SENT HYUANDI PLENTY OF EMAILS AND RECORDED PHONE CONVERSATIONS THERE BEYOND NEGLIGENT TO NOT LOOK AT THIS CAR. AND THEY PROMISE A GENESIS SERVICE LOANER WHEN THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP. NONE OF THESE DEALERSHIPS HAVE THEM. THE GENESIS EXPERIENCE IS THE GENESIS INCONVENIENCE. I HAVE BIG TIME BUYERS REMORSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HYUNDAI GENESIS G80. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE TURNED TOWARDS THE GROUND WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE CONTACT COULD NOT SEE THE ROAD OR OBJECTS AHEAD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MCCAFFERTY HYUNDAI SALES INC. (1106 E LINCOLN HWY, LANGHORNE, PA 19047, (888) 754-7841 3004), BUT NO FAILURE COULD BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HYUNDAI GENESIS G80. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE "CHECK AEB SYSTEM" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,300. *TT *TR
THE OWNER HAS HAD TWO BLOWOUTS IN ABOUT 6 WEEKS. HE GOT THE VEHICLE IN DECEMBER 2017. THIS IS JANUARY 25, 2018 THE CAR CAME WITH CONTINENTAL PROCONTACT 19" 245-45R/19" THE LOAD IS 98W. HIS 2017 G70 HAD ITS TIRES RECALLED. AND CHANGED. I FIND IT VERY SUSPICIOUS THAT ONE CAR HAD TWO BLOWOUTS. I LOVE MY HUSBAND AND I FEEL THAT THIS FACT HAS ENDANGERED HIS LIFE AND I AM ALERTING YOU TO A POTENTIAL SAFETY PROBLEM AND THIS WILL PERHAPS SAVE LIVES. I THINK THAT THE LOAD OF THE CAR IS TOO GREAT OR THE WHEEL BASE IS TOO LONG FOR THE TIRES, BUT I AM NOT AN EXPERT, I AM A WIFE
