I turned on my heated seats and felt my back burning. I turned it off and called the dealer immediately and noted my brand new winter arctic coat had a hole in it, the seat had a hole in the air bladder of the seat and the entire car was smelling of burning. I have owned the car without problems. My back had a first degree burn
Defective E-Latch (press button activated door latch), rear passenger side door. The button is defective- subject to recall, however, my VIN not included. In addition to the defective button installed on our car; this car has a safety design defect in that the manufacturer has not provided the rear passengers a mechanical means of escape in the event of an accident and the button malfunctions or is defective (as is the case with our vehicle). The manufacturer provides such a latch for the front seat passengers. But apparently had no concern for the safety of the rear passengers. I called Lincoln and alerted them to my concerns- they refused to replace my defective button (car out of warranty and not subject to the VIN specific recall) and similarly were unconcerned regarding my concerns over the hazards presented by the negligent design. All of these cars should be recalled and those E-Latches replaced and the rear doors retrofitted with an emergency mechanical latch.
The contact owns a 2017 Lincoln Continental. The contact stated while driving into her garage, there was an abnormal sound heard. The neighbor arrived and inspected the vehicle and saw that the sound board had detached and was located underneath the rear passenger’s side tire. The neighbor placed the detached part into the trunk and took it to the dealer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the passenger’s side rear inner shield was detached and was missing the required fasteners. The dealer replaced the passenger’s side rear inner wheel housing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 61,554.

THE DOORS ON OUR 2017 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL OPEN WHILE DRIVING. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY CANNOT FIX IT FOR ANOTHER YEAR. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE OF DOORS OPENING AT TIMES AND NOT UNLOCKING AT TIMES TOO. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS WE FOUND OUT THIS PROBLEM LAST YEAR AND THEY JUST TOLD US TO CALL THIS YEAR, SO WE DID - SO BASICALLY WE HAVE TO WAIT 2 YEARS TO GET OUR LINCOLN FIXED? DOORS OPEN WHILE DRIVING. DOORS WILL NOT LATCH WHILE DRIVING OR STATIONARY.
LEFT FROM DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT LATCH WHEN CLOSED. RECALL #19V-077, HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP IN MILLEDGEVILLE ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO, THEY SEEM TO BE HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING PARTS.
DOOR LOCK ISSUES AS THEY OPENED AND WON'T CLOSE WHILE DRIVING
"TAKATA RECALL", ON APRIL 25, I WAS TRAVELING TO ATLANTA, GA FROM VIRGINIA TO ATTEND A CONFERENCE AND STOPPED TO GET GAS AND MY DRIVER'S DOOR LOCKED ME INSIDE THE CAR. I HAD TO USE THE LATCH TO RELEASE THE LOCK. I HAVE CONTACTED DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE ISSUE AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY REMEDY TO THIS ISSUE. MY VEHICLE WILL NOT LET ME SET THE CRUISE CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAY, THE WRENCH LIGHT STAYS LIT AND I'M WORRIED ABOUT WHAT ELSE MAYBE WRONG. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR THAT I'M PAYING PAYMENTS ON. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 5 MONTHS AND STILL NO REMEDY.

WE ARE DISSATISFIED WITH THE LEVEL OF SERVICE FROM THE LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY AND SERRAMONTE FORD DEALERSHIP IN COLMA, CALIFORNIA, WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO THE CASE, CAS-1758606, RECALL 19S03 AND NHTSA RECALL # 1V-077. OUR VEHICLE'S DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE AND IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE ONGOING ISSUE HAS BEEN PROBLEMATIC FOR VICTORIA SEDAN & LIMOUSINE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE APRIL 1, 2019, AND HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED EVEN AFTER CONTACTING SERRAMONTE FORD, FORD HEADQUARTERS AS WELL AS LINCOLN CONCIERGE. WE WERE DENIED A LOANER VEHICLE OR ANY SORT OF COMPENSATION FOR TIME LOSS AND THE LACK OF EFFORT IN RESOLVING THIS ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER HAS FORCED US TO TAKE A FINANCIAL LOSS, REASSIGN THE CHAUFFEUR WHO HAD THE VEHICLE AND PUT A STRAIN ON OUR OPERATIONS. WHAT MAKES MATTERS WORSE IS THAT WE HAVE LEARNED THAT ONE OF OUR PARTNERS; WITH THE SAME TYPE OF BUSINESS HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR LINCOLN CONTINENTAL. THEY TOOK IT TO THE FORD LINCOLN DEALERSHIP IN CONCORD, CALIFORNIA AND WERE GIVEN A LOANER WHILE THEIR CAR AWAITED THE DEFECTIVE PART WHICH HAS SINCE BEEN REPAIRED. THIS RAISES THE QUESTION AS TO WHY OUR OPERATION WAS TREATED DIFFERENTLY. WE ARE REACHING OUT TO YOU TO SEE IF YOU CAN H ASSIST US GETTING THE ISSUE RESOLVED AS THE AGENCIES MENTIONED WERE UNABLE TO DO SO.
DRIVER'S DOOR DOES NOT ELECTRONICALLY CLOSE FULLY WHEN IT IS PULLED SHUT, AND A MESSAGE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATES THAT THE DOOR IS NOT CLOSED. IT REQUIRES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO ENSURE THAT THE DOOR REMAINS FULLY CLOSED AND LOCKED.
THE SIDE AIR BAGS ON THE FRONT SEATS KEEP SPITTING OPEN. THEY ARE NOT DEPLOYING BUT YOU CAN SEE AIRBAG IS EXPOSED. WORRIED THEY WILL DEPLOY UNEXPECTEDLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY TO CLOSE AND SECURE THE DOOR. HALL LINCOLN NEWPORT NEWS (12896 JEFFERSON AVE, NEWPORT NEWS, VA 23608, (877) 398-2216) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE, AND INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V077000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL AT THE DEALER WAITING TO RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
AT 49000 MILES THE LEFT REAR DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE FOR A WEEK. IT THEN WORKED OK UNTIL 50500. WE TOLD THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. AT 51000 MILES NOW BOTH REAR DOORS WILL NOT WORK FROM THE OUTSIDE. IF I AM IN A WRECK THERE IS NO WAY TO GET ANYONE OUT OF THE REAR OF THIS CAR. I HAVE PURCHASED A HAMMER TO GET PEOPLE OUT IN AN EMERGENCY. IT SEEMS A CAR REAR DOOR BUTTON SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN A YEAR OR TWO.
I'M WRITING FROM LITHUANIA, SEVERAL MONTH AGO I BOUGHT LINCOLN CONTINENTAL 2017 AFTER SMALL ACCIDENT. I SHIP IT TO LITHUANIA, REPAIRED IT AND FIND OUT WHY ACCIDENT HAPPENED.. AFTER ALL BODY REPAIR (YES, ONLY BODY WAS DAMAGED), ALL DTC CODES CLEAR I TAKE CAR FOR TEST DRIVE, AND AFTER ~20ML OF DRIVE IN CITY ON ONE OF SHARP TURN MY CONTINENTAL STEERING WHEEL LOCKED BY ITSELF! I ALMOST HIT INCOMING TRAFFIC CAR, THEN I UNDERSTAND WHY ACCIDENT HAPPENS FOR THIS CAR IN USA. I'M ELECTRONIC SPECIALIST, SO I HAVE KNOWLEDGE AND ALL EQUIPMENT FOR SUCH DIAGNOSIS WORK LIKE THIS. SO I START TO CLEAR TROUBLE CODES IN CONTROL UNIT'S, EVERYTHING WAS OK EXCEPT ONE.. "ADAPTIVE STEERING FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED" THIS ERROR POP UP CAME ON EVERY TIME WHEN CAR START'S.. I START TO LOOK WHAT CAUSING IT, AND FOUND THAT I'M GETTING PRESENT ERROR IS SECM MODULE U3000 OR "INTERNAL ELECTRONIC FAILURE". THEN I READ SHADOW MEMORY OF THAT UNIT AND FOUND LIVE DATA WITCH INDICATE THAT STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED TO THE RIGHT SIDE THE SIDE ON THE DAMAGED BODY AND STEERING WHEEL STUCK AND LOCKED IN THAT POSITION..BECAUSE DRIVER LOOSE POSSIBILITY TO STEER. FIRST THEN I START TO SEARCH INFORMATION ABOUT THIS ERROR I WAS SURE THAT ACCIDENT CAUSED IT, BUT I FOUND FORD EDGE THIS MODEL USE SAME ADAPTIVE STEERING SYSTEM LIKE CONTINENTAL FORUM WHERE A LOT OF GUYS WRITING AND ADDING VIDEOS HOW THEY STEERING WHEEL IS MISALIGNED AND THEY DRIVING ON STRAIGHT ROAD AND THAT CAR'S HAS 5K-10KML. I FOUND ONE GUY WHO ALSO SAID THAT UNDER SHARP CORNER HIS STEERING WHEEL LOCK'S.. BUT HE MANAGED TO STOP SAFELY. ANOTHER BIG PROBLEM FOR ME IS THAT IN LITHUANIA WE DONT HAVE LINCOLN DEALERSHIP, ONLY FORD, AND LITHUANIA FORD DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THIS PROBLEM, THEY RECOMMEND ME TO CONTACT WITH FORD USA TO GET HELP FROM THEM, BUT NO LUCK STILL NOW...I'M ADDING DIAGNOSIS SCAN REPORT AND DASH PHOTO OF ERROR.
THE FRONT HOOD VIBRATES AS IF IT'S GETTING READY TO UNLATCH AS YOUR DRIVING AT 70 M.P.H. WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. IT'S VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND SCARY.
DRIVER SIDE SEAT BRACKET BROKE OFF WHEN GETTING INTO CAR. DEALER TOOK CAR AND REPAIRED SEAT. SIDE AIRBAG CASE WAS ALSO SPLIT AND AIRBAG WAS VISIBLE TO THE EYE. THIS WAS IN JUNE 2017. SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED LAST WEEK. DRIVER SIDE SEAT (LEFT SIDE AGAIN) BROKE OFF AS I ENTERED THE VAHICLE. CASE OF AIRBAG DID NOT BREAK OPEN. DEALER PICKED UP AND REPAIRED AGAIN. TOOK CAR OUT TODAY AFTER GETTING IT BACK. NOW SEAT COOLING FAN IS EXTREMELY LOUD IN THE SEAT ITSELF. IT MUST BE HITTING SOMETHING INSIDE AS IT ROTATES TO COOL THE SEATS NO HAVE MADE A RECORDING. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AND NOT MOVING WHEN THENINCIDENTS HAPPENED. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER AGAIN THIS EVENING AND LEFT MESSAGE TO RETURN MY CALL.
