Summary

Coolant leaking into the cylinder. Had it serviced at 69.4K miles with a radiator flush and 3,000 miles later the warranty has expired and we have coolant in the cylinder. The fix is an engine replacement, $11K. There is a technical bulletin out so they this is a common problem, however they seem to let the issue go without notification in hopes the warranty's expire.

Summary

I had my MKC at the dealership to get an oil change and check for an issue with electrical. They were checking the car and they had to replace all 20 lugnuts because they swelled. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that even the dealers say they have problems with those lug nuts and ford/Lincoln refuses to pay for it! I called who refused to pay for them

Summary

Now on my 3rd Battery in 3 months. A section in front of the battery gets very hot. It's a section with a lot of thick wires coming together. Most of the time my car will not start, I just have to keep moving wires until I get a connected for the car to start. I expecting the car to start a fire or a battery explosion pretty soon. l researched 2017 Lincoln MKC's and it seems this is a car with a lot of electrical problems. There needs to be some type of recall to redo the battery connections before someone gets hurt. I will print this notice in case of a battery or electrical issue arrives in a casualty so I can sue that this has been reported. Thanks

Summary

I WAS PULLING AWAY FROM MY HOUSE AFTER BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, AND THE POWER STEERING PRACTICALLY FROZE. I ALMOST HIT MY OTHER CAR THAT WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. THREE WARNINGS CAME UP ON THE DASH: 1. SERVICE ADVANCETRAC, 2. STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED, 3. HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY LOCAL SERVICE STATION AND HE DIAGNOSED THAT IT WAS THE "ELECTRONICS" IN MY RACK AND PINION. HE ADVISED THAT I TAKE IT TO FORD/LINCOLN, BECAUSE IT MAY, OR SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY. I THEN TOWED MY CAR TO THE CLOSEST FORD DEALER THAT I WAS ABLE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH, BECAUSE ALL THE DEALERS IN QUEENS, NY ARE BACKED UP, 4-6 WEEKS. I RECEIVED AN IMMEDIATE RESPONSE: "WE FOUND THE PROBLEM. INTERNAL FAILURE WITH THE ELECTRONIC RACK AND PINION. THAT'S WHY IT IS CAUSING ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING AND HARD STEERING. THE RACK CAN'T COMMUNICATE WITH THE VEHICLE. PARTS AND LABOR WITH AN ALIGNMENT AND DIAGNOSTIC IS $2,106 PLUS TAX. IT'S ELECTRONIC. CAN'T CONTROL AND DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSES IT TO GO BAD. IT IS ONLY COVERED UNDER THE BASIC 3YR./36K MILE WARRANTY. IT'S AN INTERNAL ISSUE WITH THE RACK. IT'S ALL COMPLETE WITH NEW RACK AND ELECTRONIC UNIT BUILT INTO IT. I KNOW IT'S EXPENSIVE. IT'S THE SAME SET UP AS THE FORD EXPLORER. JUST DID ONE THE OTHER DAY. THE PART ALONE IS $1296.00 AND IT TAKES 2 DAYS TO GET. THEY (FORD) KNOW OF IT BUT NO RECALL. PART INCLUDES 1YR./12K WARRANTY PARTS AND LABOR." I AM GETTING THE CAR REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD IT SHOULD BE READY BY TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH, 2020.

Summary

I STARTED THE VEHICLE, THE SYNC SYSTEM WENT THROUGH A RESTART, KILLING THE ENGINE AND TURNING OFF THE DASHBOARD PANELS. IT HAD HAPPENED BEFORE ON A LEVEL SURFACE, BUT THIS TIME I WAS ON A 10-15% GRADE. I STOPPED AGAIN, TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND RETURNED ABOUT 15 MINUTES LATER. I WAS ON A SLIGHT HILL, WITH THE ELEVATION LOWER IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. I STARTED THE CAR AND STEPPED COMPLETELY OUT WITHIN 10-15 SECONDS. I STEPPED OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE, WHICH HAD BEEN RUNNING FOR 10-15 SECONDS. THE HATCH WAS OPEN AND TWO FRIENDS BEHIND COULD CLEARLY SEE THROUGH THE VEHICLE, TO KNOW THAT I DIDN'T TOUCH THE PUSH BUTTON TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING DOWN THE HILL. I JUMPED IN, BUT THE BRAKES DIDN'T WORK AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS DARK. IT STOPPED ROLLING WHEN IT COLLIDED AGAINST A PARKED TRUCK APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET IN FRONT. THE ENGINE WAS OFF WHEN IT STOPPED. I THINK THE RECYCLE OF THE SYNC SYSTEM CAUSED AN INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, CAUSING THE BRAKES, STEERING AND PUSHBUTTON TRANSMISSION TO BECOME NON-OPERABLE. THIS RESULTED IN DAMAGE OF $8568 TO MY MKC AND OF $1512 TO THE PARKED TRUCK. SINCE THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT INCIDENT, IT CAN'T BE REPLICATED AT A DEALER EVEN IF IT HAPPENED, IT WOULD BE ON A LEVEL SURFACE AND WOULD NOT ROLL. I HAVE DRIVEN THE VEHICLE FOR AN ADDITIONAL 7 MONTHS AND 8,819 MILES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 27,474. DURING THAT TIME, THE VEHICLE HAS STARTED AND THEN GONE THROUGH AN ELECTRICAL RECYCLE WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO TURN OFF AT LEAST 5 TIMES. TWO OF THOSE TIMES WERE ON A FLAT SURFACE. I RAN OVER A COONCRETE CURB A MONTH AGO. TONIGHT IT HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY & RAN UP ONTO MY FRONT PORCH, WHICH HAS A STEP UP OF ABOUT 6 INCHES. I CALLED LINCOLN CONCIERGE TO REPORT THE 2ND INCIDENT. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD DO NOTHING UNTIL THE PROBLEM WAS RECREATED IN A GARAGE - OR IT KILLS OR INJURES SOMEONE.

FIRST NOTICED THE PROBLEM WHEN I HAD NO HEAT BLOWING FROM MY HEATER, (CAR WAS NOT OVERHEATING OR ANYTHING), I CHECKED MY ANTIFREEZE AND IT WAS LOW SO I ADDED IT AND I HAD HEAT IN MY CAR AGAIN. FOUR DAYS LATER, I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN, NO ANTIFREEZE (AND AGAIN NOTHING SHOWING MY CAR OVERHEATING), ADDED ANTIFREEZE AND HAD HEAT AGAIN. PARKED MY CAR ON A CEMENT DRIVEWAY AND OBSERVED NO ANTIFREEZE LEAKING, BUT THERE WAS A VERY STRONG AND HORRIBLE SMELL OF ANTIFREEZE BURNING COMING FROM MY EXHAUST ALSO, THINK WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST. CAR IS NOW WAITING AT THE FORD DEALER TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG. CAR ONLY HAS 49,852 MILES ON IT.

Summary

I RECENTLY LEASED A FORD MKC. IT CAME EQUIPPED WITH SIDE VIEW MIRRORS THAT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY FOLD IN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO AN OBJECT WHERE YOU COULD GET CLOSER FOR CONVIENENCE. A GOOD EXAMPLE IS WHEN YOU GO THROUGH A CAR WASH AND THE SIDE MIRRORS FORD IN SO THEY DO OT GET DAMAGED DURING THE CAR WASH. IF A PERSON FORGETS TO PRESS THE BOTTON TO HAVE THE MIRRORS SWING BACK OUT SO A PERSON CAN DRIVE SAFELY THAT DOES NOT OCCUR AUTOMATICALLY. IN ESSENSE THOSE MIRRORS ARE CLOSED AND I COULD BE DOING 55 AND NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE SIDE MIRRORS IF I FORGOT. I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY OPEN BACK UP WHEN THE VEHICLE GETS TO A SPECIFIC SPEED LIKE 20-25 MILES AN HOUR. I HAD A BMW THAT HAD THE SAME O[PTIOON ONLY WHEN IT GOT TO 20 MILES AN HOUR IT AUTOMATICALLY PUT THE SIDEVIEW MIRRORS WHERE THEY NEEDED TO GO. BIG SAFETY ISSUE

THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON THE LINCOLN MKC MALFUNCTION IN THE RAIN. I EXPERIENCED SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE, UNDER FLOOD ADVISORY CONDITIONS, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS DID NOT WORK. I TURNED THE CAR ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES. I CHANGE THE WIPER AUTOMATION SETTINGS SEVERAL TIMES AND STILL THE WIPERS WOULD NOT WORK. I BELIEVE THIS IS A VERY HAZARDOUS ISSUE FOR ANYONE DRIVING A 2017 LINCOLN MKC AND DO NOT BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE TAKEN LIGHTLY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHEN LIVES ARE AT HAND. IN THE ABOVE SET INSTANCE I WAS DRIVING DURING THE DAY WITH RAIN SLEET AND SNOW UNDER FLOOD ADVISORY CONDITIONS.

Summary

THE CAR WAS NOT ON. IT WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OF A RESIDENTIAL HOME. THE LIFT GATE WAS OPEN. THE ARM THAT LIFTS AND SUPPORTS THE LIFT GATE BROKE SUDDENLY. IT SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION AND A LARGE PRESSURIZED SPRING (GREATER THAN 2 FEET IN LENGTH) PROPELLED FROM THE LIFT GATE ARM. THIS SPRING STRUCK A CHILD IN THE FACE WITH SO MUCH FORCE THAT IT KNOCKED HIM DOWN, WITH CUTS AND BRUISED TO THE CHILD'S FACE (NEAR THE EYES). THE FORCE OF THE SPRING ALSO CAUSED A DAMAGE TO THE BUMPER. IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN, IT HAS POTENTIAL TO CAUSE SIGNIFICANT BODILY HARM.

Summary

THE DECORATIVE SILVER STRIPS ON THE DASHBOARD UNDERNEATH BOTH OF THE DASH AIR VENTS CAUSES A MAJOR REFLECTION IN BOTH THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER SIDE VIEW MIRRORS WHEN DRIVING IN BRIGHT SUNLIGHT. THIS IS A MAJOR DISTRACTION AND IN TRAFFIC COULD CAUSE YOU TO MISS SEEING A VEHICLE BESIDE YOU. THESE STRIPS NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH THE FAUX WOOD LOOK ON SOME OF THE MKC MODELS. CAN'T BELIEVE THEY NEVER NOTICED THIS IN THE DESIGN PROCESS. IS NOTICABLE WHEN PARKED OR IN MOTION. HAPPENS EVERYDAY IF THE SUN IS SHINING
