Collision Assyt not operating, E brake engaged damage rear brakes and rotors
Strong gas smell when car is idling and miles to empty goes down very quickly, approximately a mile or more a minute. There is no recall for this problem and Mercedes is very aware of this problem.
The contact owns a 2017 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated upon taking the front driver seat belt off she noticed, it was not fully retracting. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact also stated that the front passenger’s side seat belt was not fully retracting. The contact stated she received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V032000 (Seat Belts). The vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall repair; however, the dealer informed the contact that the seat belts did not qualify for the recall repair because the seat belts were fully retracting. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist because the vehicle recall history did not show that the VIN had been included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 2,500.
I was driving on a straight away doing the speed limit which is reported seconds before the car crash. The steering wheel turned to the left really hard out of no where and wouldn’t let me gain control over the car again. I was sober it was 9am and I was aware of my driving. I ended up spinning out and landed in the ditch feet away from the light pole. I made it know to everyone what happened, but they looked at me crazy. I stopped driving that car and sent it back to Mercedes to get a detailed inspection. Which lasted about 30 days for them to get back to me about what happened. When I received the call to get my car they didn’t provide any information about the incident. Instead they just sent it to corporate and left me in the dark. I was in pain during this whole time. I was couldn’t find a lawyer that was willing to help. It’s been three years since the incident and I will have to live with pain for the rest of my life. It’s not fair that we need thousands of dollars to be heard. I have all communication and documentation that was given during the time of incident.
Strong gas odor in the cabin and in motion to the point of causing me to be light headed with my children in the car. Smell of gas coming from the engine when parked. No lights or warnings and it does not occur all of the time just sometimes however ive noticed it 3x the last 5x i have drove my car, the cabin was only extremely bad once.

The car was parked on my driveway, As soon as i started it, I got a message 'The electronic rear axle differential lock is inoperative' NHTSA previously issued a recall for 2017 C63s AMG models. I purchased this vehicle from Carvana in April 2021 with clean single owner carfax. The manufacture warranty has expired. I have seen lots of posts on Mercedes forum talking about this issue where Mercedes did fix the issue free of cost. Since there is no open recall on my vehicle, I am not sure what to do.
MB USA extended the warranty coverage on the low pressure fuel hoses that connects to the high pressure fuel pump. The reason is "under certain cold ambient conditions during a cold start of the engine, the low pressure fuel hose at that connection may experience slight fuel weeping". MB USA, however, ruled out a safety risk. NHTSA needs to investigate it. If MB USA found the fuel pressure line is defective, they needed to do a recall. I believe it must be a recall as fuel leaks is not only a safety risk but also a serious health hazard to the occupants. What if the occupants have sinusitis and don't smell well. What if the leaks is too small to smell enough but can still be a health issue.
Light came on tonight and stayed on, Collinsion prevention assist inoperable. Car has been involved in any collision for this system to quit out of the blue

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the sunroof panel detached from the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
On August 18th, 2021 the roof panel between the windshield and the panoramic roof completely detached while driving on the highway. Luckily no accidents or injuries are reported. Safety recall for this issue has been issued since March 2021 but the factory hasn't produced the parts to send to the dealerships to make the necessary repair to this day. The car is currently unusable and unsafe to drive. Even if the dealership attempts to re-attach another panel they won't have the right adhesive, instructions, and panels that the engineers in the Mercedes factory redesigned to remedy this issue.

For the past several weeks the seat belt warning light goes on and the chime sounds intermittently while I am driving with the driver seat belt engaged. Also; while this is happening, the seat belt pretensioner repeatedly deactivates and activates. The vehicle is available for inspection at my home in Pleasant View, Utah. Can my safety be compromised if the pretensioner is not activated? Will the driver air bag function if it thinks the seat is empty? The Mercedes Dealer was no help; all the Customer Service person could tell me was there was not a Recall on my vehicle. "Just make an appointment and we will do a Diagnostic Inspection for $179." I have made an appointment with my local Mechanic on Thursday, July 29, and hope that he can fix it.

The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
I was in a car accident on June 30,2021. A Car collided into my drivers side at the front left wheel. My airbags did not deploy and i was injured. my injuries consisted of neck, shoulder, and lower back. I was also thrown to the passenger side of the vehicle because my seat belt did not seem to lock. WHEEL LIPS ON THIS VEHICLE DEFORM WITH LITTLE PROVOCATION RESULTING IN RAPID AIR LOSS, LOSS OF HANDLING AND IN EXTREME CASES A CRASH. THE SHAPE OF THESE WHEELS DEVIATES FROM OTHER ALLOY WHEELS IN A WAY THAT PROMOTES THIS BEHAVIOR. THE CURVE OF THE RIM BARREL BETWEEN THE LIPS (ALSO KNOW AS THE BELL) IS MUCH SHALLOWER THAN MANY OTHER WHEELS. THE RESULT IS THAT THE ANGLE AT WHICH THE BARREL MEETS THE LIPS IS CLOSER TO A RIGHT ANGLE THAN COMMON. THE BARREL MEETING THE LIP AT AN ANGLE CLOSER TO PARALLEL WITH THE PAVEMENT GREATLY INCREASE THE RISK THAT SUDDEN DEFLATION COULD OCCUR RESULTING IN THE AFOREMENTIONED SAFETY ISSUES.
THIS CAR IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH ENOUGH PROTECTION FOR THE FRONT RADIATORS TO PREVENT DAMAGE FROM DEBRIS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR 2017 AND UP VEHICLES. THE RADIATOR SEEMS TO BE VERY FRAGILE DUE TO THE DESIGN AND THERE HAVE BEEN MANY REPORTS OF THE ISSUE, BUT CLAIMS ARE DENIED DUE TO BEING 'ROAD DEBRIS' BUT MERCEDES-BENZ FAILS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH MULTIPLE CLASSES OF THEIR CARS. MY CAR HAS 27K MILES AND IS JUST OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD. THE RADIATOR IS LEAKING IN MULTIPLE PLACES.

I TURN IT OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON AND SOMETIMES IT STILL WILL NOT MOVE, SOMETIMES, IT WILL NOT TURN BACK ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. ONCE, I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF MY MAILBOX TO PICK UP MAIL, AND ANOTHER OCCASION I PULLED INTO MY GARAGE, AND IT STOPPED, AND WOULD NOT TURN ON. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, I WOULD HATE TO BE IN TRAFFIC, RAILWAY CROSSING, IR STOP SIGN AND THIS OCCURRED. PEOPLES LIVES HAVE BEEN LOST DUE TO THIS ISSUE. A FUEL LINE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT JUST ABOVE THE SKID PLATE ON THE DRIVES SIDE JUST RIGHT OF THE FRONT WHEEL WELL LEAKS FUEL WHERE THE LINE IS CRIMPED COMING FROM THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. THE WHEELS ON MY TIRES WILL CRACK AT THE SLIGHTEST STRESS FROM THE ROAD. IT COULD BE A BUMP, A TINY POT HOLE, EVEN A STICK, AND THESE TIRES WILL BECOME DEFECTIVE, EITHER BY CRACKING, BECOMING FLAT OR THE WHEEL BECOMING COMPLETELY IMMOBLIZED. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED ON THE ROAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT FOR HOURS BECAUSE OF THESE DEFECTIVE TIRES. I'VE COME INTO WORK UN-SHOWERED WITH NO SLEEP, BECAUSE I WAS STRANDED FOR SOMETIMES UP TO 12 HOURS BEFORE I WOULD GET HELP. ITS HAPPENED AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS. THEY STATED IT IS A CRACKED PISTON IN CYLINDER 1. THIS IS APPARENTLY A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS ENGINE BUT THERE ARE NO RECALLS YET.

SERVICE TECH SAID THAT THESE ENGINES AUTOMATICALLY VIBRATE AND JERK AND THAT IS JUST THE NATURE OF THE BEAST?? WTHECK???!! THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING WAS EXTENSIVELY DAMAGED AND A FAILURE CAUSE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE FAILURE ON-LINE AND BELIEVES THAT THE ELECTRIC STEERING WAS DEFECTIVE AND MAY BE A CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL FOR ELECTRICAL STEERING. DURING THE INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE BY PENSKE AUTO COLLISION CENTER, THE TECHNICIAN COULD NOT TELL IF THE STEERING DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED DURING THE COLLISION OR AS A RESULT OF A DEFECT. THEY ALSO FOUND DAMAGE TO THE REAR DRIVE UNIT ALTHOUGH, AS VERY VISIBLE IN THE PHOTOS, THE VEHICLE STRUCK THE BARRIER WITH THE FRONT LEFT (DRIVER'S SIDE) PORTION OF THE FRONT BUMPER. THE REAR OF THE CAR NEVER SLAMMED INTO THE BARRIER BUT DID SCRAPE ALONG THE DRIVER'S SIDE MOMENTARILY BUT THERE WAS NO IMPACT. THE COLLISION CENTER COULD NOT ACCOUNT FOR THE DAMAGE TO THE REAR DRIVE UNIT. IN RESEARCH, I FOUND A FEW MENTIONS AND COMPLAINTS OF THE REAR AXLE DISENGAGING WHICH COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL. THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE VEHICLE ARE IDENTICAL. WHILE ON MY WAY TO A MEETING THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL GOT LOCKED WHICH SENT THE CAR INTO A 360-DEGREE SPIN. BRAKES, STABILITY CONTROL FAIL, THE CAR ACCELERATED WHILE APPLYING BRAKES, AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLPOY ON IMPACT. AFTER THE ACCIDENT I REQUESTED MBUSA TO DISPATCH A SOFTWARE ENGINEER TO HAVE THE ONBOARD ELECTRONICS EXAMINED FOR A POSSIBLE DEFECT. MBUSA ALONG WITH THE MANUFACTURER ARE REFUSING TO HAVE AN ENGINEER SENT. THE DEALERSHIP IS ENGAGED IN DECEITFUL TACTICS IN THEIR COMMUNICATIONS WITH MBUSA LLC. THE DEALERSHIP HAS LIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO MBUSA STATING I AM NOT SHOWING UP TO PRESCRIBED MEETINGS. I HAVE SHOWED ON TIME ON THE DATE THE MEETINGS WITH THE ENGINEER WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE PLACE AND HAVE A WITNESS. ON THE NIGHT OF THE SECOND ACCIDENT THE VEHICLE WAS BROKEN INTO TWICE. THE DEALERSHIP STAFF HAVE CHANGED THE RIGHT REAR TIRE ON THE VEHICLE TO MAKE IT APPEAR AS THOUGH IT WAS THE TIRE'S FAULT. THE PURCHASE RECEIPT FOR THE TIRE AND THE DOT NUMBERS DO NOT MATCH THE DOT NUMBER CURRENTLY ON A TIRE REPLACED BY THE STAFF. MBUSA ALLEGES IT IS THE TIRES FAULT WITHOUT PROVIDING ANY SCIENTIFIC FACT BASED EVIDEMCE. A YEAR AN A HALF LATER THE ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED AND EVERYONE IS POINTING FINGERS AT EACH OTHER.

HOWEVER, I READ FROM MULTIPLE SOURCES THAT THIS HAPPEN OFTEN WITH THE MERCEDES'S PANORAMIC ROOF. LUCKY FOR ME, MY FAMILY WAS NOT IN THE CAR AT THE TIME.

THE 2017 MERCEDES-BENZ C300 VEHICLE SUFFERED A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER/ELECTRICS WHILE IN MOTION AT SPEED AND IN TRAFFIC, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO UNEXPECTEDLY STOP ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE LOSS OF ALL ELECTRICAL SUPPLY LEAVES THE VEHICLE IMMOBILE, WITHOUT WARNING INDICATORS AND CANNOT BE MOVED. THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS AROUND 5PM IN A BUSY ROAD JUNCTION IN THE DARK, WITH LIMITED LIGHTING. AS THE VEHICLE IS BLACK COLORED IT IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE IN THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. THE SECOND INCIDENT WAS AT ANOTHER BUSY ROAD JUNCTION IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, AT MIDDAY ON A SATURDAY. ON BOTH OCCASIONS THE POLICE HAD TO ATTEND AS THE IMMOBILIZED VEHICLE POSED A SERIOUS HAZARD WITH A RISK OF CAUSING A COLLISION TO OTHER ROAD USERS. THE APPROXIMATE TIMES TO GET THE VEHICLE REMOVED FROM THE ROAD IN THESE TWO INCIDENTS WERE BETWEEN 45 - 60 MINUTES. THE PERIOD BETWEEN THE TWO INCIDENTS WAS 11 DAYS. THE DAY FOLLOWING THEN FIRST INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A MERCEDES DEALERSHIP, WHO HAD THE VEHICLE IN THEIR POSSESSION FOR FIVE DAYS. INITIALLY THEY STATED THAT THEY HAD NOT FOUND A CAUSE FOR THE LOSS OF ALL ELECTRICAL POWER IN THE VEHICLE. SUBSEQUENTLY WHEN PRESSED ON THE MATTER, THEY STATED THE CAUSE WAS A CONNECTION PROBLEM TO THE POSITIVE TERMINAL ON THE BATTERY. IN GOOD FAITH THE VEHICLE WAS COLLECTED BY ME AND DRIVEN WITHOUT ANY APPARENT PROBLEM FOR FOUR DAYS, PRIOR TO THE SECOND INCIDENT. THE MILEAGE DRIVEN IN THAT PERIOD WAS LESS THAN 100 MILES IN TOTAL. THIS VEHICLE POSES A SERIOUS RISK TO THE DRIVER, PASSENGERS AND OTHER ROAD USERS.

THE BELT ACTUALLY CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE TENSIONING DEVICE, WHICH RESULTED IN THEM REPLACING THE TENSIONER, AND PERFORMING THE INSTRUCTION FOR LI. THEY TEST DROVE THE CAR & SAID IT WAS FIXED. ON 4/4/19, JUST 3 DAYS AFTER PICKING UP MY CAR, IT TURNED OFF ON MY AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF US1. THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND A MESSAGE POPPED UP STATING THAT THE SYSTEM WOULD SHUT DOWN IN 3 MINUTES. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT ON A CONGESTED ROAD.
WHEN IDLING AT THE LIGHT. THE CAR WOULD SHUT ITSELF OFF. ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS WILL COME ON. I THEN HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR WITH THE PUSH START TO RESET IT. THEN IT'LL WORK FINE. I HAVE BEEN TO MERCEDES DEALERSHIP IN NEW ROCHELLE FOR FOUR TIMES ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THEY CHANGED THE BATTERY THE FIRST TIME. TWO DAYS LATER THE SITUATION OCCURRED AGAIN. THEN THE SECOND AND THIRD TIME THEY GAVE ME BACK THE CAR AND SAID THEY DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG BECAUSE NO CODES POPPED UP. BOTH TIMES I TOOK THE CAR BACK AND THE SITUATION OCCURRED AGAIN. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED OVER 30 TIMES SINCE OVER 29,000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP IS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE AND RIGHT NOW I AM IN A LOANER VEHICLE ON THE FOURTH TIME THAT I HAVE GIVEN MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE BECAUSE OF THIS SITUATION. I HIT A BEAR IN MONTANA IN MY 2017 MERCEDES C300 AT 86MPH AND DESTROYED THE FRONT OF MY CAR. THE SEATBELTS DEPLOYED AND WRENCHED US INTO OUR SEATS AND SMOKE CAME OUT OF THE FRONT AIR VENTS BUT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT GO OFF. ON THE DASH THE VEHICLES STATED THAT THE AIRBAGS IN ALL 4 ZONES IN THE CAR MALFUNCTIONED AND SERVICE IS REQUIRED. MERCEDES IS STATING THAT THE LIGHT IS FROM A SEATBELT ERROR CODE BUT THE DASH DID NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT SRS OR SEATBELTS. I DO NOT WANT TO PUT MY FAMILY BACK IN THE CAR AND DO NOT FEEL IT SHOULD BE REPAIRED. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS OF THE ERROR MESSAGES ON THE DASH. THE PARKING BRAKE WON'T RELEASE SOMETIMES AFTER DOING EVERYTHING THAT THE MANUAL AND MERCEDES BENZ RECOMMENDS. I'VE BEEN STRANDED FOR OVER 30 MINUTES. THE CAR ENTERS LIMP MODE IN THE HIGHWAY WHERE IT LOOSES ALL THE POWER AND WARNING POPS UP AS ACTIVE BRAKE ASSIST IS INOPERATIVE, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON AS WELL. IF YOU MANAGE TO GLIDE THE CAR TO A STOP AND RESTART THE CAR, THE CAR STARTS TO BACK UP AS NORMAL. TOOK THE CAR FOR SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES, INTAKE AIRFLOW SENSOR WAS REPLACED BUT THE CAR STILL HAS THE SAME ISSUE. UPON SEARCHING ONLINE, THIS IS A VERY WELL KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE NEWER MECEDES CARS WHERE THE CAR GOES INTO A SAFETY MODE WHERE THE ENGINE CUTS ALL THE POWER TURNING THE SITUATION INTO A EVEN MORE DANGEROUS SCENARIO. AS PART OF THE SAFETY MODE, IF THE CAR LOOSES ALL THE POWER, THEN THERE IS FEW THINGS THAT CAN BE DONE TO COME OUT OF IT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AS REPEATED OCCURENCE OF THIS PROBLEM HAS THE ABILITY TO CAUSE A SEVERE ACCIDENT.

5 MONTHS AFTER RECIEVEING THE CAR I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY FRONT PASSANGER SIDE TIRE AIR PRESUURE INDICATOR WENT OFF. I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY AND PUT A "FIX A FLAT" IN THE TIRE THINKING I RAN OVER A NAIL. THE TIRE WENT LOW AGAIN SO I DROVE TO THE LOCAL MERCEDES BENZ DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY MOUNTED THE CAR AND SHOWED ME THE "FIX A FLAT" GEL COMING OUT OF THE SIDE OF THE UNDAMAGED TIRE INDICATING A CRACKED WHEEL. THEY REMOVED THE TIRE AND INFACT I HAD A CRACKED WHEEL. 4 MONTHS LATER MY FRONT DRIVERS SIDE AIR PRESSURE INDICATOR WENT OFF WHERE THE MERDCEDES DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED MY SECOND CRACKED WHEEL IN LESS THAN A YEARS TIME!
"TAKATA RECALL" I HAD MY 2017 MERCEDES BENZ C300 FIR ONLY A FEW MONTHS AND I HAVE EXPERIENCE 4 ENCOUNTERS AS TO WHERE MY VEHICLE WOULDNT START BACK UP WHILE SITTING INSIDE OF MY VEHICLE FOR AT LEAST 2 TO 3 MINS ITS LIKE BEING LOCKED INSIDE OF MY OWN CAR EVERYTHING COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN THE ENGINE NOR PUSH START WOULDNT WORK MY CAR IS ALWAYS PARKED FOR SMALL PERIODS OF TIME WGEN THIS INCIDENT TOOK PLACE I TOOK IT OVER TO THE MERCEDES-BENZ DEALER AND I WAS TOLD MY CAR IS NEW AND IT DOES THAT TIME TO TIME
VEHICLE HORN WILL NOT FUNCTION WHEN IGNITION SWITCH IS IN OFF POSITION.
SUNROOF EXPLOSION TOOK PLACE IN TRANSIT TO DELIVERY TO MY HOME IN CENTERVILLE, OHIO FROM HOUSTON, TEXAS. IT WAS STATIONARY INSIDE OF ENCLOSED TRANSIT VEHICLE.
