Each door latch on our car has had to be replaced, all at separate times since we bought the car in 2017. The door latches will not lock/unlock with the fob or driver panel. It causes a safety issue with the door. It could come open (from failure to latch) while driving and people can fall out. It does not lock/unlock when you lock the car from the driver panel or fob and people can just open your door and enter it. Which has happened to us. The only way to lock/unlock it is from the inside from that door, since the fob, driver panel do not work, but then you have to scoot across the seat and come out the other side of the car to get out of the car, and then you still can’t unlock it unless you scoot back over and unlock that door since there is only 1 door with a key entrance, the driver door. It’s not been a recall on this specific year (2017) but it has been for 2016. We are now replacing our 4th latch because of this issue, hopefully the hatch does not do this as well. Many others with the same year car have had the same problem, I’ve seen many complaints online, and still no recall has been made about the door latches for 2017. It’s a HUGE safety issue not being able to lock and unlock your car door, or the door possibly failing to latch and someone falling out of the car door.
The contact owns a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, it was discovered that the front windshield wipers were inoperable. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
I WAS TRAVELING ON A CITY STREET. A VEHICLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME. I HIT THEM. I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. MY CAR HAS BEEN TOTALED. THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAVE CONTACTED MITSUBISHI MOTORS AND THEY GAVE ME THIS CONTACT INFORMATION.
THE 2017 HAS THE SAME CVT TRANSMISSION AS THE RECALLED 2015 AND 2016 MODELS. I HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR 4 YEARS AND ITS NOW HESITATING ON ACCELERATION - A CLASSIC SIGN OF CVT FAILURE. MITSUBISHI MECHANIC ADVISES ME TO PAY 8 THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REPLACE THIS AS ITS OUT OF WARRANTY (124K MILES) I CONTEND THAT THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AS THE PRIOR YEARS MODELS ARE.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE NOT WORKING AT ALL. THEY WERE WORKING ONLY ON HIGH AND NOW HAVE QUIT WORKING ENTIRELY. THE WIPER ARMS ARE STRIPPED.
I'VE HAD MY ROUTINE MAINTENANCE DONE ON THIS VEHICLE SINCE I FINANCED IT BACK IN JUNE OF 2019 WHICH WAS AT 47K MILES. THERE WAS NO ISSUES, I HAD MY LAST MAINTENANCE DONE IN OCTOBER AT 70K MILES. MY TRANSMISSION SHOWED NO SIGNS OF GOING OUT , THERE'S NO LEAKAGE OF ANY SORT. IT JUST DECIDED SATURDAY, JANUARY 2 OF 2021 THAT IT WAS JUST GOING TO GO OUT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP JANUARY 5TH, AND HE TOLD ME IT'LL BE $7035.09 TO REPLACE. I FEEL AS THOUGH THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS TRANSMISSION JUST LIKE THE RECALLS FOR THE 2016 MODELS. THE DASH JUST NOW SAYS TRANSMISSION SERVICE REQUIRED. IT WAS SO SUDDEN! I WAS AT 35MPH AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SHUDDER UPON ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING SATURDAY. SO, I HAD TO DRIVE AT LEAST 10MILES BACK HOME AT 20MPH, BECAUSE I WASN'T SURE OF WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AT THAT MOMENT. I HAD A MECHANIC CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND HE SAYS THAT THERE WASN'T A DROP OF FLUID IN THERE. WHEN I GO GET MAINTENANCE DONE I AM TRUSTING THEM TO MAKE SURE I HAVE EVERYTHING CHECKED IN ORDER FOR ME TO FELL TRUST AND BE SAFE WHILE DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT I FINANCED FROM THEM. I COULD'VE HAD A ACCIDENT OR ANYTHING. THEY'VE ONLY CHECKED WHAT THEY WERE PAID TO DO AND THAT WAS THE OIL CHANGE WITHOUT EVER CHECKING MY TRANSMISSION FLUID. THERES NO HOLES NOR ANY LEAKAGE THE CODE RAN AND SAYS P084A TRANSMISSION HAS INTERNAL DAMAGE. I'VE REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WIPER TWICE AND THE TAKES A WHILE TO DEFROST THE WIPER BLADES MOVE SLOWLY WHEN TURNED TO THE MAX WHEN THERES A STORM.
VEHICLE HAS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AT 45000 MILES, ENGINE HAS SLUDGE ACCUMULATION
THE PASSENGER MAP LIGHT DOES NOT TURN ON WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN AND WILL TURN ON ALL ON IT'S OWN. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT SIMULTANEOUSLY WHILE TRAVELLING WITH MY FAMILY WITHIN LESS THAN A YEAR OF OWNING THE NEW CAR (2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER). THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT THE PLACE OF PURCHASE, A MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP, TO REPLACE THE BULBS WHICH AGAIN WENT OUT WITHIN 7 MONTHS. NEXT, THE BULBS WERE REPLACED AT THE MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP ONLY TO LOSE THEM AGAIN ON VEHICLE STARTUP 12 - 13 MONTHS LATER. I WAS LEFT WITH NO LIGHTS IN THE DARK AND SUBJECT TO GETTING TO AN AREA OF SAFETY WITH FAMILY IN THE CAR. I AM DILIGENT WITH PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE & REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT THIS ISSUE IS AN ISOLATED CONDITION WITH THE OEM BULBS AS THEY CONTINUE TO FAIL IN THE SAME MOMENT.
MY GREATEST CONCERN IS THE ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING, NEW BATTERY DRAINING SO QUICKLY , THE VEHICLE SHAKING WHILE IDLE THEN SHUTS OFF. I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ADDED TO THE ENGINE STALL RECALL EVEN WITH THESE PROBLEMS REPLICATING WHAT MITSUBISHI IDENTIFIES IN THERE PAST RECALLS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE MACANICS OR DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTERS CANNOT IDENTIFY PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR BUT AFTER DRIVING IT FOR A GOOD WHILE OR MAYBE A FEW HOURS THE CAR COULD JUST SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE IN A HIGHWAY WHICH HAS ALREADY HAPPENED TO ME ENDANGERING ME AND MY FAMILY. I WRITE TO NHTSA TODAY SO THAT MY VEHICLE AS URGENTLY AS POSSIBLE CAN BE INCLUDED IN A INVESTIGATION FOR THIS VEHICLE TO BE INCLUDED IN MITSUBISHI'S RECALL.
THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND PARKED ON A CITY STREET. WHEN I'M GOING TO TURN IT ON, THE CAR'S BATTERY IS DEAD. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS SAME SITUATION FIVE (5) TIMES. IN A PERIOD OF TWO (2) YEARS, THE CAR HAS DISCHARGED FIVE (5) NEW BATTERIES, INCLUDING THE ONE THAT CAME FROM THE FACTORY. EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS, I REQUEST THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE SERVICE TO RECHARGE THE BATTERY AND IMMEDIATELY, TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE TO PURCHASE A NEW BATTERY. THE DATES ON WHICH THIS SITUATION HAS OCCURRED ARE: 06/19/2018; 04/30/2019; 02/10/2019; 08/05/2020; 08/17/2020.
DRIVER SEAT MOVE TO MUCH COMPLETE BRING CAR BACK TO DEALER SAY NOTHING CAN'T DO FOR ME THIS HAPPENS FROM THE DAY I BY THE CAR .I NEED HELP WHIT THIS PROBLEM & I CALL MITSUBISHI OF NORTH AMERICA TOLL ME SEAT IS NO PART OF SAFETY IN THE CAR
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR FROM A SLOWER ENTRANCE SPEED TO A HIGHWAY AND AFTER GETTING UP TO SPEED THE ENGINE WILL CONTINUE TO REV AT HIGHER RPM UNTIL I AM OFF THE THROTTLE COMPLETELY. THEN AFTER REAPPLYING THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO SHIFT DOWN. NO MATTER HOW LIGHT OR STEADY THE THROTTLE, EVEN BARELY TOUCHING THROTTLE AT ALL, IT SEEMS TO STAY IN "PASSING GEAR". THIS HAS THE CVT TRANMISSION AND IT HAS NEVER DONE THIS UNTIL THE LAST SERVICING OF FLUID CHANGE IN THE DIFFS/TRANNY. CURRENTLY HAVE 77K MILES. LAST SERVICE WAS AT 2K. I PLAN TO TAKE IT TO DEALER FOR NEXT OIL CHANGE AND HAVE IT LOOKED AT
I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE SINCE JUNE 2019. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO BE SERVICED 4 TIMES FOR A MAJOR LEAK WITH A CRAZY RATTLE NOISE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEN YOU DRIVE THE CAR WITH THE AC ON. EVENTUALLY THEY REPLACED THE AC ASSEMBLY. HOWEVER, IT STILL MAKES THE RATTLING NOISE FROM THE AREA THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW IN 2017. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT.
WHEN ACCELERATING OR BRAKING ON ANY ROADS OR CONDITIONS THE DRIVER SEAT WILL ROCK BACK AND FORTH. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 5/22/2020. *TR
THE VEHICLE WON'T START. BATTERY KEEPS DRAINING, I HAVE TO CHARGE THE BATTERY WITH A CHARGER EACH TIME. I BELIEVE THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE ELECTRICAL THAT CONTINUOUSLY IS DRYING THE BATTERY. HAD IT CHECKED A YEAR AGO WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND THEY TOLD ME I COULD OPT TO HAVE THEM INSTALL IN A TRICKLE CHARGER TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE, OF COURSE AT MY EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 8,000 MILES PRESENTLY. WHEN PURCHASED NEW IT HAD 300 MILES. NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, IF THE BATTERY CONTINUES TO DRAIN I FEEL IT HAS AN ELECTRICAL DEFECT NOT JUST A BATTERY ISSUE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK OR TWO.
EMERGENCY BREAK STUCK AND ALARM SOUNDING. FIRST TIME EBRAKE WAS EVER USED. VEHICLES EBRAKE WAS SET WHILE PARKED ON A HILL. WILL NOT DISENGAGE PROPERLY.
THE SERVICE AIRBAG SOON LIGHT IS ON. WHEN TAKEN TO A MECHANIC IT DOESN'T SHOW ANYTHING IN THE COMPUTER. THE MIDDLE ROW MIDDLE AND RIGHT SIDE SEATBELTS ARE DIFFERENT SIZES AND PASSENGERS GET STUCK IF THEY PUT THE LATCH IN THE WRONG ONE. RUNNING BOARD CLIPS PASSENGER SIDE KEEP BREAKING.
MY INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. INITIALLY WHEN I NOTICED THE PROBLEM, ONE SIDE WAS WORKING AND THE OTHER ONE WAS NOT. NOW, NONE OF THE LIGHTS WORKS. ADDITIONALLY, MY HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY EITHER.
AIRBAG SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF CONSTANTLY WHILE DRIVING ON ANY TYPE OF ROAD AND WHILE PARKED. MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP STATES THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT GOT WET AND THE LIGHT WILL GO OFF WHEN THE SEAT DRIES. THE SEAT HAS NEVER BEEN WET AND THE PASSENGER FLOOR IS NOT WET EITHER. DEALER REFUSES TO FIX THE ISSUE.
EVERY TWO OR 3 WEEKS I HAVE TO JUMP THE TRUCK TO GET IT STARTED EVEN PUT A NEW BATTERY IN IT....I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE MECHANIC AND BROUGHT IT TO THE MITSUBISHI CAR DEALER TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND COULDNT FIND ANY..IT GETS VERY ANNOYING TO SEE IF THE TRUCK IS GOING TO START OR I COULD BE STRANDED SOMEWHERE ..I BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN JULY AND IT HAS INSTALLED A NEW BATTERY AND THE DEALER CANNOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM.....THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 37,000 MILES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 MITSUBUSHI OUTLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKING. THE CONTACT CALLED HIS INSURANCE COMPANY TO HAVE THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED. THE WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACED, BUT IT CRACKED ALSO. THE CONTACT SUSPECTED THAT THE GLASS WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
WHEN DRIVING AND COMING TO A STOP THE VEHICLE JERKED AND I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES VEHICLE REAR ENDED VEHICLE INFRONT OF ME. SENSOR DID NOT GO OFF AND VEHICLE WAS AT FAULT
2017 MITSUBUSHI OUTLANDER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ISSUES WITH DOOR. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LOCKS WERE INOPERABLE 75% OF THE TIME. *JS
FRONT IMPACT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE AIRBAGS DIDN'T OPEN
THE VEHICLE SOUNDS REALLY LOUD WHEN IT RUNS. WHEN I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR IT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS IN 4WD. IT IS NOT GETTING ENOUGH FORCE.
I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR ONLY A LITTLE OVER A YEAR (BOUGHT IT MARCH OF 2018 WITH ONLY 12,046 MILES). SINCE I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT BULB ON THE PASSENGER SIDE A TOTAL OF 4 TIMES AND A TOTAL OF 3 TIMES ON THE DRIVER SIDE (WHICH IS CURRENTLY BLOWN NOW, WHICH WILL MAKE A TOTAL OF 4 TIMES ONCE I REPLACE IT). ONCE I REPLACE THE BULB ONE SIDE, THE BULB GOES OUT ON THE OTHER SIDE ABOUT A WEEK LATER. A COUPLE OF TIMES I HAVE THOUGHT A BULB WOULD GO OUT, AND IT WOULD START WORKING AGAIN. I WAS ADVISED THAT MAYBE IT WAS CONDENSATION, BUT THERE IS NO CONDENSATION. ALSO, WHEN DRIVING, MY RADIO CONSOLE TURNS OFF AND RESTARTS AS IF I AM JUST STARTING THE VEHICLE UP. AROUND THE TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, A HEADLIGHT BULB USUALLY BLOWS OUT. I HAVE CONTACTED MITSUBISHI, WHICH I WAS ADVISED THAT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT THEY HEARD OF THIS AND THERE ARE NO RECALLS, BUT UNDER MY OWN RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE FORUMS WHERE OWNERS OF OUTLANDERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR VEHICLES.
WE HEAR WHISTLE SOUND IN CAR WHEN WE ACCELERATE ABOVE 20 MILES SPEED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING VENT CONTROLS FAILED TO FUNCTION AND EXTREMELY HOT AIR WAS COMING OUT OF THE VENTS. BAKERSFIELD MITSUBISHI (661-398-9422, 4600 WIBLE RD, BAKERSFIELD, CA 93313) TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND REPLICATED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE A 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER THAT HAS NEVER BEEN IN A WRECK OR ANYTHING PUT THE AIRBAG LIGHT COME ON AND I HAVE ALREADY TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TIRED TO MAKE ME PAY FOR THE SERVICES IT IS ON ALL THE TIME WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING IT AND SOME TIMES THE BRAKES WILL NOT WORK RIGHT ESPECIALLY ON WET PAVEMENT
I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW FROM THE DEALER WITH 6,000 MILES ON IT. JULY OF 2018 THE LEFT REAR CALIPER FAILED AND DAMAGED THE ROTOR. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN AND THE ROTOR, BRAKE PADS AND CALIPER WERE REPLACED. ON APRIL 15, 2019 I BROUGHT THE CAR IN TO DEALER SERVICE THIS TIME IT WAS THE RIGHT REAR CALIPER THAT FAILED AND DAMAGED THE ROTOR. THE DEALER THEN CHANGED THE RIGHT REAR CALIPER ROTOR AND BRAKE PADS. WHEN CHANGING THE PADS ON THE LEFT SIDE THEY FOUND THE LEFT SIDE NOW LEAKING. THE CAR WAS AT THE DEALER SERVICE FROM APRIL 15TH- MAY 3RD. THEY TOLD ME THE CALIPERS WERE ON BACK ORDER. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THESE CALIPERS? SHOULD THERE BE A RECALL ON THESE DEFECTIVE CALIPERS? I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR MY FAMILY'S SAFETY. THESE PROBLEMS WERE NOTICED WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AND A GRINDING SOUND CAME FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE CONTACT SWERVED TO AVOID A DEER AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT RESTRAINED THE DRIVER TOO TIGHTLY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT SHOULDER AND COLLAR BONE THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS NOTIFIED AND PLANNED TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO A FACILITY FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
VEHICLE FIRST PRESENTED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE SOON LIGHT ILLUMINATING. THIS HAPPENED SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE ENGINE LOSING SPEED. THE CAR DECREASED BY TEN MPH WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. WITH THE FOOT PUSHING DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL NO ACCELERATION WAS ABOUT TO OCCUR FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THE VEHICLE THEN RETURNED CONTROL BACK TO ME AND I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE TAKEN TO THE LOCAL MITSUBISHI DEALER BEGINNING AS FAR BACK AS SEPT OF 2018 THIS CAR FIVE TIMES FULLY UNDER WARRANTY. FIVE TIMES THEY RETURNED THE CAR ASSURING ME THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED. I HAVE RECALL SR-17-005 OF CERTAIN OUTLANDERS AND LANCERS THAT I LOCATED ONLINE. UNDER THE NHTSA WEBSITE MY VIN IS NOT UNDER RECALL, HOWEVER THE RELAY IS WHAT THEY TOLD ME WAS WRONG AND REPAIRED. THE EXPERIENCES AND DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS MATCH RECALL ACCORDINGLY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN YESTERDAY 04/22/19 AND I WILL AGAIN BE RETURNING TO THE DEALERSHIP. NOW THOUGH I HAVE LOST MY CONFIDENCE IN THEIR ABILITY TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS MERGING INTO TRAFFIC, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THEN TOWED TO GMC MOSSES (5200 ROUTE 60 EAST, HUNTINGTON, WV, 877-332-3584). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY THE INSURANCE AGENCY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE PERFORMED AS DESIGNED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
I WENT TO START MY CAR IN THE MORNING AND OUT OF THE BLUE THE AIRBAG SERVICE REQUIRED LIGHT CAME ON AND WON'T GO OFF.
HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A FEW DAYS NOW I TRY TO START THE CAR AND IT SEEMS AS IT WILL FAIL ME SOON. I WENT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY TOLD ME IT'S A PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION OR STARTER. IT'S A NEW CAR BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN 2017. I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD ALSO RECALL THE 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. ALSO SEAT BELTS DON'T LOCK .
SOMETIMES WHEN I PUSH THE PUSH START BUTTON TO START THE CAR IT DOESN'T GO DOWN MAKING IT UNABLE TO START THE CAR.
WHEN I PUSH MY BRAKES IT'LL GO A LITTLE BIT FARTHER LIKE I'M STILL PUSHING MY GAS
FROM TIME TO TIME THE BRAKES DON'T WANT TO WORK RIGHT IF YOU HAVE TO PRESS THEM KINDA HARD THEY JUST MAKE YOU KEEP GOING LIKE YOU ARE SLIDING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE ABOVE 5 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MARK'S CASA CHRYSLER JEEP (LOCATED AT 9733 COORS BLVD NW, ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87114, (505) 897-8400), BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,727.
EMERGENCY BRAKE AND "AUTO HOLD" FAIL. I WAS AT STOP LIGHT AND HAD THE AUTO HOLD ACTIVATED. I HAD BEEN AT THE STOP BEHIND ANOTHER VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 45 SECONDS BEFORE A BUNCH OF WARNING LIGHTS CAME UP AND THE DASH STATED EMERGENCY BRAKE FAULT, AUTO HOLD UNAVAILABLE AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL FORWARD. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE SAFELY. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF THEN BACK ON AND THE FAULTS WERE GONE. NO STORED CODES HAD COME UP.
DRIVER SEAT ROCKS BACK AND FORTH (BRAKING AND ACCELERATING) I'M AFRAID SEAT MAY BECOME SO LOSE THAT IT CAN BREAK BACK CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE. DEALERSHIP SAID MITSUBISHI IS AWARE BUT THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX THE ISSUE. I AM 2000 MILES AWAY FROM MY BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY TO EXPIRE. I FEEL I WAS JUST BRUSHED AWAY. *TT *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAG MAY DEPLOY. THE CONTACT CALLED AUTONATION MITSUBISHI AT (281) 766-7260 (LOCATED AT 7200 GULF FWY, HOUSTON, TX 77017) WHERE AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN THE RAIN, MY WIPERS DISCONTINUED WORKING. THERE IS NO BLOCKAGE AND THE VEHICLE IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD
GLASS SPONTANEOUSLY CRUMBLED AND SHATTERED ON REAR PASSENGER DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT HOME IN MY DRIVEWAY. WE WERE GETTING INTO THE VEHICLE AS USUAL IN THE MORNING TO LEAVE FOR THE DAY. THE DOOR WAS NOT SLAMMED, THERE WERE NO VISIBLE CRACKS, SCRATCHES, OR CHIPS ON THE GLASS. NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE OR BLUNT OBJECTS IN THE AREA THAT WOULD INDICATE FOUL PLAY. WE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING THAT WOULD EXPLAIN SUCH A RANDOM BREAKING OF THE GLASS. MY DAUGHTER SUSTAINED MINOR CUTS ON HER LEG FROM THE GLASS FALLING INTO THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT. FIRST AID WAS GIVEN, BUT NO IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NECESSARY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELTS ON THE REAR SEATS FAILED TO LATCH FOR PASSENGERS WHO WEIGHED OVER 125 POUNDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WANTAGH MITSUBISHI (3460 SUNRISE HWY, WANTAGH, NY 11793, 516-785-4300) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED SEAT BELT EXTENSIONS AT A COST TO THE CONTACT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,100.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A RARE END COLLISION ON AN ICY ROAD. I BRAKED AND THE CAR ESSENTIALLY SLID DIRECTLY INTO AN 18 WHEELER. THE VEHICLE WAS IN FORWARD MOTION ON A HIGHWAY DOING AROUND OR BELOW EST 40MPH. UPON IMPACT THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY DESPITE THE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE SEEN. INJURIES WERE MINOR CUTS AND BRUISES AND WHIPLASH. SEAT BELTS DEFINITELY DID THEIR JOB SINCE THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DO ITS JOB.
2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE BRAKES AND DEALERS REFUSAL TO REPAIR VEHICLE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT; THEREFORE, THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED TO 90 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN, BUT THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED. TO AVOID CRASHING INTO A MOTORCYCLE, THE CONTACT HAD TO SWERVE TO THE LEFT AND CRASHED INTO A CURB AND FIRE HYDRANT. THE VEHICLE THEN WENT AIRBORNE INTO A CANAL. THE BRAKE PEDAL CONNECTION DETACHED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK, LEFT LEG, AND NECK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A POLICE IMPOUND LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. *TT *TR
THE 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT'S CVT TRANSMISSION HESITANT WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THEN IT SURGES WITH POWER AND THE RPM FLUCTUATES UP AND DOWN CONTINUOUSLY. WHEN GIVEN GAS THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES DOES NOT ACCELERATE. THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT ALWAYS LIKE THIS. I RECORDED MULTIPLE VIDEO SHOWING THE RPM FLUCTUATES CONSTANTLY EVEN IN CRUISE CONTROL. I TOOK IT TO LOCAL MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR A DAY TO LOG THE DATA AS THEY DROVE IT AROUND ONLY TO BE TOLD "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT"
I BOUGHT MY WIFE A NEW 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT ES FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY ON 1/24/2017. THE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 5K MLS ON IT. RECENTLY ON 9/5/17 THE CAR STARTED TO ACT WEIRD. FROM A STOP TO GO THE CAR WOULD NOT DRIVE NORMAL. IT HAS A SLOW GET UP TO CATCH SPEED. IT DRIVES LIKE 10MPH FOR A WILE AND THEN SOMETIMES GOES BACK TO NORMAL. SHE HAS TO TURN THE IGNITION FROM ON TO OFF SO THE CAR KIND OF GOES BACK TO DRIVING NORMALLY AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V233000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED MISSION MITSUBISHI (9800 PEDRO AVE, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78216, PHONE NUMBER: (210) 342-2886) AND WAS INFORMED THE PART FOR THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
POWER DRIVER SEAT ROCKS FORWARD AND BACK DURING ACCELERATION, STOPPING, STATIONARY AND GOING OVER BUMPS. THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS AND ON THE HIGHWAY. SEVERITY OF ROCKING MOTION VARIES DEPENDING ON SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT. HAD SEAT REPLACED AND REPLACEMENT HAS BEEN DOING THE SAME. HAS BEEN DOING IT SINCE NEW
