I purchased my car brand new and the leather is cracking insanely. I have met others with the same model and the leather has torn on the seats and arm rest. The leather isn't durable. It's a insult to have such a new car that has these defects. The interrupted leather causes damage to your body whenever you utilize the affected areas which will result in other problems in the near future

Summary

Is experiencing banging sound coming from rear suspension under the car. Banging noise when going over bumps ,fighting to control vehicle at moderate speeds. Car was brought new, only as 54k miles. I feel I'm being stalled until warranty expires at 60k miles please help.

From a complete stop and in stop and go highway traffic, the car failed to accelerate. The gas pedal was pressed as far as possible but the car would not accelerate. This is dangerous because the issue occurs without any warning and I could have been hit by oncoming traffic. I had the car checked at a Nissan dealership, they kept the car for abour 6 days, they could not replicate the issue and the car did not give a code, so there were no repairs. The issue occured again 5 days later while trying to make a left turn from a traffic light. The car barely acclerated to 9mph. Since the car does not give an error code, the dealership said they could not make any repairs. This issue was also reported to Nissan Consumer Product customer service, who referred me back to the dealership. So no resolutions for this issue.

Nissan has a large issue with the quarter panel moldings. They are a design flaw and come off very easily in car washes or even brushing snow off your car. They will become loose or completely off. If they become loose and you are on the highway like I was and it went flying off the car at highway speed. That clearly is a safety concern that Nissan has been avoiding. However, they are now re-drilling a hole and attaching a new version of the molding. At the owners cost!!! It wasn't an issue but now you are changing the way you attach the new ones? Very odd and they state it's not a safety concern. I beg to differ if you are the car on the highway behind someone's that is loose and comes flying at you. I have read numerous blogs of owners complaining of the same issue. I think we need to get this addressed or see about a class action lawsuit because the way Nissan is reacting to this isn't right.

THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED A LOUD WHISTLING SOUND COMING FROM THE SUNROOF OUTSIDE OF NORMAL WIND NOISES. THIS SOUND OCCURS DAILY. IT APPEARS THAT IT IS NOT SEALED PROPERLY AND WILL EVENTUALLY LEAD TO LEAKS. THE DEALERSHIP WAS ABLE TO HEAR THE NOISE AS WELL AND EVEN PUSH MY SUNROOF OPEN FURTHER WITH THEIR HANDS. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH ONLINE, THIS SEEM TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN MAXIMA. THERE IS AN ENTIRE MAXIMA FORUM ONLINE DISCUSSING THIS ISSUE WITH CUSTOMERS COMPLAINING OF WATER DAMAGE DUE TO IT NOT BEING SEALED PROPERLY. CAR WAS INFESTED WITH SPIDERS RIGHT AFTER PURCHASE AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THEY WERE GETTING IN FROM THE SUNROOF.

I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WORK WAS PERFORMED AND THEY STATED FIXING THE RECALL WOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THIS ISSUE AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK $1XX.XX AND I DON'T RECALL THE ESTIMATED PRICES SHE STATED FOR THE SENSORS, BRACKETS, AND LABOR. PURCHASED 2017 NISSAN MAXIMA AT PASSPORT OF MARLOW HEIGHTS ON 3/17/20. TOOK CAR TO FIRST SERVICE AT PASSPORT ON 6/22/20 FOR OIL CHANGE & TIRE ROTATION. AFTER FURTHER ISSUES WITH MY FRONT LEFT WHEEL AND GOING TO SHEEHY OF WALDORF FOR MY SECOND SERVICE I DISCOVERED THAT PASSPORT OF MARLOW HEIGHTS SERVICE ADVISOR DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF "THE LEFT WHEEL STUD ISSUE" WHILE PURCHASING THE CAR AND UNTIL A WEEK AFTER MY INITIAL SERVICE VISIT OF 6/22/20. THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT PASSPORT REPORTED A INCORRECT SERVICE DATE OF 6/25/20 TO COVER UP THE LATE MULTI-POINT "LUG NUT" NOTIFICATION. ON 1/8/2021 2ND SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AT SHEEHY OF WALDORF, I REQUESTED OIL CHANGE, TIRE ROTATE, 4-WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND BALANCE. SHEEHY FOUND: LUG NUTS WERE CROSSED THREADED WHICH CAUSED STUDS TO BE MESSED UP AS WELL. SHEEHY "REPLACED 2 LUG NUTS AND 2 STUDS ON DRIVER FRONT TIRE." FOR AN ADDED AMOUNT OF $251.53. I LEFT SHEEHY OF WALDORF AFTER MY SERVICE AND AS I ACCELERATED, I FELT STRONG VIBRATION AT EACH INTERVAL, I RETURNED TO SHEEHY AND ASKED FOR SOMEONE TO RIDE WITH ME. A SHOP FOREMAN DROVE MY CAR AND HE FELT THE VIBRATION AT EACH INTERVAL. THE FOREMAN TOOK VEHICLE BACK IN GARAGE AND INSPECTED WHEELS "& FOUND THAT THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL HAS BEEN WELDED & THE WELD HAS SPLIT & CRACKED. THE OTHER 3 WHEELS HAVE BENDS IN THE WHEEL & OUT OF ROUND" VIDEO & PHOTO PROVIDED BY SHEEHY. IT TURNS OFF AFTER I TURN OFF THE CAR BUT WILL TURN ON AFTER DRIVING FOR MORE ON THE FREEWAY. I'VE BEEN DRIVING WITH TURNS OR HILLS AND COULD BE A PART OF IT BUT I'M NOT SURE. AFTER 3 YEARS OF HAVING THE CAR, IT STARTED DOING THAT. THE ABS WAS ALREADY CHANGED AS PART OF A RECALL AND I DON'T HAVE ANY OTHER RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD MY 2017 MAXIMA INTO THE DEALERSHIP ( TIM DAHLE IN SALT LAKE CITY UT) ON 10-22 2019 FOR AN ANTI-FREEZE PROBLEM. THE ANTI-FREEZE IS BEING USED BUT NOT LEAKING ANYWHERE. THEY REPLACED THE RADIATOR CAP AND DID NOT SEE ANY NOTICEABLE LEAKS , TOPPED OFF THE COOLING SYSTEM AND SAID COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM, SAID IT WAS NORMAL FOR THE HOLDING TANK ON THE SIDE TO BE LOW. I DISAGREED AND THOUGHT IT WAS AN INTERNAL PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE, THEY SAID COULD SEE NO PROBLEM. A MONTH LATER I HAVE NO ANTI-FREEZE IN MY RESERVE TANK AFTER DRIVING ONLY ABOUT 50 MILES AROUND TOWN. WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR NEW I NOTICED IT WAS LOW ON ANTI-FREEZE, A YEAR AGO I TOOK IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE THEY TOPPED OFF ANTI-FREEZE AND IT HAS BEEN LEAKING FROM THE DAY I BOUGHT IT, THEY SAY THAT IS NORMAL AND I DISAGREE. THE VEHICLE HAD NO IMPACT, NO TILT, AND NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE AND DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME WITH THE AIRBAGS TAPED TO THE CEILING. THE CAR WAS THEN SUBSEQUENTLY DRIVEN TO THE DEALERSHIP APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES AWAY WITH NO ISSUE. I SUBMIT THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN TO ANALYZE WHY THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, AND INFORMATION WAS PULLED FROM THE EDR. ALL I WAS TOLD WAS THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WITHIN AN ALLOWABLE TIME FROM A "TILT ANGLE" BEING RECORDED. WHEN QUESTIONED, THE REPRESENTATIVE COULD NOT TELL ME HOW LONG THAT ALLOWABLE TIMEFRAME WAS, WHY A TILT ANGLE WAS RECORDED WHEN ALL FOUR TIRES WERE STILL IN CONTACT WITH THE GROUND, AND COULD NOT TELL ME IF THE SENSORS THAT SEND DATA TO THE EDR WERE FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY (BUT I COULD PAY TO HAVE MY OWN DIAGNOSTICS RUN). ALSO, ACCORDING THE THE EDR REPORT, IN THE "PRE-CRASH" INFORMATION BEFORE THE EVENT OCCURRED, IT SHOWED THE VEHICLE HAD ALREADY COME TO A FULL STOP PRIOR TO THE EVENT. I HAVE HAD PREVIOUS MINOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE RELATED TO THE RADIO AND MILEAGE TRACKING RESETTING THEMSELVES, WHICH I HAD RELATED TO NISSAN DURING THE INVESTIGATION, AS WELL AS THE DRIVER SIDE AUTOMATIC WINDOW FALLING OPEN IN THE TRACK WHEN I SHUT THE DOOR. THE CAR IS BECOMES UNSTABLE AND DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS, EVEN AT MODERATE SPEEDS (20+ MPH). WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS, THERE IS A LOUD THUMP / CLUNK / BANG FROM THE REAR SUSPENSION - AND THEN THE REAR OF THE CAR LOOSES TRACTION/STABILITY. NISSAN MUST BE AWARE OF A DESIGN ISSUE ISSUE AS IT HAS ISSUED A TSB TRYING TO SOLVE THE INFERIOR BUSHINGS IT CHOSE FOR THE REAR SUSPENSION - SERVICE BULLETIN NTB17-107. HOWEVER THIS DOES NOT SOLVE THE INSTABILITY PROBLEM. I FIND MYSELF DRIVING AT HALF THE LEGAL SPEEDS TO KEEP THE CAR STABLE - THE NEED TO SLOW DOWN FOR EACH BUMP IS CREATING A ROAD HAZARD. DRIVING ON THE SAME ROADS WITH MY OTHER CARS AT MUCH HIGHER SPEEDS (ROAD LEGAL SPEEDS), I DO NOT EXPERIENCE ANYTHING LIKE THAT. THE STABILITY CONTROL FUNCTION DOES NOT SEEM TO HELP AND IT LIGHTS UP FREQUENTLY WHEN DRIVING ON BUMPY ROADS. I FOUND MYSELF VEERING OF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE OF THE DIFFICULTY TO CONTROL THE CAR. THIS MUST BE A TERRIBLE AND DANGEROUS DESIGN FLAW. IN ROADS THAT I CAN DRIVE THE LEGAL SPEED IN A HYUNDAI SONANA OR TOYOTA 4RUNNER (45 - 65MPH) I SOMETIMES NEED TO CUT SPEED IN HALF WHEN DRIVING THE NISSAN MAXIMA SR JUST TO KEEP THE CAR STABLE ON THE ROAD.
