I received notice last year of a recall concerning the passenger air bag and contacted the dealer Suncoast Porsche in Sarasota immediately to schedule service. As of November they did not have parts but expected them in soon and said they would call to schedule. On January 15th I called to confirm that we were still expecting the parts at which time I was told that Porsche is no longer fixing the defective part and will only provide that service if the warning light comes on. Therefore at this time I have a defective part that I am not allowed to order a part for which leaves me with a safety hazard in my vehicle and diminishes my value as a trade-in and as a used car sale since I am not allowed to fix it. I feel that this is a serious breach of duty as far as Porsche is concerned and would like to have this addressed please.
Was driving in a parking lot when I lost all steering ability. Dealership said my vehicle had steering rack malfunction and the whole electronic steering gear had to be replaced. I was stuck in the middle of a parking lot blocking other cars without the ability to move out of the way. I can't imagine what would happen if someone had steering rack malfunction while driving on the highway. Definitely dangerous accidents waiting to happen or loss of lives. No warnings before this occured. Afterwards Power Steering Failure message appeared on the dash.
The manufacturer was unable to remedy the defect in the past 6 months despite I followed up multiple times. The respective service was also unable to provide estimated fix date as they mentioned no clear date provided by the manufacturer as to when the part will be available
I have been trying to have this recall taken care of by Porsche for the last 4 months. Both Walnut Creek and Livermoore dealers have been unable to do this recall repair leaving the front passenger airbag non-functional as best I can tell. It serves no purpose to have a safety recall if there is no ability to have the recall repaired despite multiple attempts to contact the dealer. Both site inability to obtain any parts. I believe this likely poses an important safety issue for the front seat occupants.
The contact owns a 2017 Porsche Macan. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V131000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Tires ware original equipment new vehicle they ware so loud after 15k miles that I thought the front bearings ware bad took it to the dealer they said all good its a tire issue something about Porsche Macan and Pirelli tires I am not the first with the problem they recommend to buy Michelin tires insane.
Porsche headquarters is unable to produce the part associated with this recall since April 2021. The dealer does not have the part either. I am unable to have passengers in vehicle causing hardship due to failure to fix recall by Porsche
This recall was issued Apr 30,2021. Despite multiple follow ups the manufacturers is not responsive and the dealer cannot provide a timeline to fix it other than saying it may be sometime in 2022. In the meanwhile, I keep getting airbag warnings and tire pressure warnings despite the car tire pressure being fine (checked pressure with a manual gauge). Manufacturer Recall NumberAMA2 NHTSA Recall Number21V-131
The power to the steering has failed causing the vehicle to be hard to steer, which includes an intermittent manual to power feel in the steering so that pulling hard on steering (during loss of power to steering) causes vehicle to veer in direction of steer. While pulling hard, the steering will suddenly feel "powered" but then immediately return to feeling manual. This puts anyone at risk in the vehicle, as it is dangerous to make turns. Appointment for diagnosis at dealer has not been scheduled yet. No other inspections have taken place. No warning/messages, issue just appeared.

On April 26 2021 performed routine oil change and noticed oil leaking from valve cover gasket onto side of engine. Took to Prestige Imports Inc, in Lakewood Colorado April 30th 2021, mileage is 22,851 and dealer told me: "Inspect for engine oil leak, no leak present although a slight wetness is visible at valve cover, no drips present. No repairs necessary per Porsche warranty guidelines." Dealer advised me to drive car hard and return in few weeks for visual inspection. Returned to dealer on 05/19/2021 and dealer looked at car and told me leak was a SWEAT and would not be repaired under warranty. Car purchased 05/22/2021, out of warranty 05/22/2021.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 PORSCHE MACAN TURBO. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 21V131000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. HENDRICK PORSCHE LOCATED AT 6800 E. INDEPENDENCE BLVD, CHARLOTTE, NC 28227, WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE DIAGNOSTIC SHOWS THAT THE SENSOR FOR THE DRIVER-SIDE AIRBAG IS INDICATING LOW OHMS (1.3) COMPARED TO STANDARD OHM OF 3+ THAT IS REQUIRED FOR THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY. THIS COULD CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO NOW DEPLOY AS INTENDED DURING AN ACCIDENT.
I WENT ON A TEST DRIVE ON THIS CAR AND THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE FROM THE ENGINE. I NOTICED AFTER THE FACT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE FOR FUEL PUMP MALFUNCTION THAT CAN CAUSE FIRE. I'VE CONTACTED PORSCHE ABOUT 15 TIMES AND THEY WONT RETURN MY CALL AT ALL. I ALSO STARED A CASE WITH THEM AND THEY WONT ANSWER BACK. THE VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY BURNT. NEED ASSISTANCE.
PER PORSCHE DEALER, "2 BROKER BOLTS ON THE TIMING COVER CAUSING AN OIL LEAK." VERY, VERY EXPENSIVE (THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS) TO REPAIR AS VEHICLE IS 50 MONTHS OLD. NO RECALL JUST YET BY PORSCHE PER DEALER, THOUGH HAS AFFECTED PORSCHE CARS WITH THIS ENGINE IN SIGNIFICANT NUMBERS AS IS READILY NOTED ON ONLINE FORUMS AND ACKNOWLEDGED BY DEALER.
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
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 PORSCHE MACAN. WHILE DRIVING LESS THAN 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED THROUGH THE WALL IN THE CONTACT'S GARAGE. THE VEHICLE ENTERED THE LIVING QUARTERS OF HIS HOME. THERE WAS NO INJURIES. PRIOR TO THE CRASH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED INDEPENDENT ACCELERATION AND EXTRA EFFORT WAS REQUIRED TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTO BODY SHOP TO BE REPAIRED. PORSCHE GOLD COAST (125 S SERVICE RD, JERICHO, NY 11753, (516) 758-0800) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000.
PORSCHE MACAN HAS LONG BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL. MANUAL SAYS ONE THING AND REALITY IS ANOTHER. I HAVE HAD CAR TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS AND BOTH SAY IT'S NORMAL-TRUST ME IT'S NOT AT ALL SATISFACTORY. IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I WILL HAVE AN ACCIDENT GOING INTO GARAGE. GOING UP SLIGHT INCLINE INTO GARAGE CAUSES CAR TO DOWNSHIFT AND ACCELERATE AND WITH LONG BRAKE TRAVEL RECEIPT FOR DISASTER. SAT IN 2019 MACAN TODAY AND BRAKE TRAVEL IS WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT VERY LITTLE TRAVEL. IN CONCLUSION PORSCHE KNEW THEY HAD A PROBLEM IN 2017 AS IT IS NOW FIXED.
BRAKE TRAVEL TENDS TO BE INORDINATELY LONG BEFORE SHOWING SIGNS OF SLOWING THE VEHICLE. TENDENCY IS TO THEN ENGAGE ABRUPTLY AS THE DRIVER REACTS TO LACK OF STOPPING. DEALER INDICATES THIS IS "NORMAL". IT MAY BE NORMAL BUT NOT PARTICULARLY SAFE. YOU CAN "PUMP" THE BRAKES AND MITIGATE IT SOMEWHAT BUT THAT'S NOT NORMAL BEHAVIOR. I WILL ENTER A DATE BUT THIS IS AN EVERY DAY OCCURRENCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 PORSCHE MACAN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE "ENGINE CONTROL FAULT" INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. ONCE RESTARTED, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOUR OTHER TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (GARBER AUTOMOTIVE ROCHESTER, 3955 W HENRIETTA ROAD, ROCHESTER, NY 14623) ON SIX OCCASIONS, BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING LANE, AT A SHOPPING CENTER WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, READY TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY FELT AS IF IT LOCKED DOWN BRAKES FAILED AND THE ENGINE ACCELERATED OUT OF MY CONTROL HEAD ON INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE PARKED ACROSS A DIVIDER. I HAD NO CONTROL OF STEERING OR BRAKES .. THE CAR FLASHED A POWER STEERING FAILURE.. AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED, AND MY VEHICLE SUSTAINED OVER $8,000 IN DAMAGES. I HAD ASKED FOR DATA REPORT THAT PORSCHE EXTRACTED FROM MY CAR WITH NO RESPONSE.
IT TAKES WAY TOO MUCH BRAKE TRAVEL AT SLOW SPEEDS FOR THE BRAKES TO CONSISTENTLY START ENGAGING. THIS IS ESPECIALLY AN ISSUE IN PARKING SITUATIONS: GARAGE PARKING, PARKING LOTS, ETC.
THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE AND THE PANORAMIC ROOF WAS SUDDENLY SHATTERED WHILE I START TO DRIVE THE CAR ABOUT HALF MILE. AT FIRST, I THOUGH IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS FROZE BUT THE GLASSES START TO FALL APART. THE CAR IS NEW, I JUST BOUGHT IT FOR 3 WEEKS WITH 700 MILES ON IT. NO STONES OR ROCKS EVER HIT THE SUNROOF.
I HAVE A NEW 2017 PORSCHE MACAN AND HAVE NOTICED THAT THE DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER IS NOT ACCURATE. DEPENDING ON HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING THE VARIANCE IS UP TO 3 MPH OFF. THE ANALOG SPEEDOMETER IS VERY HARD TO DETERMINE YOUR SPEED BASED ON ITS DESIGN, HENCE THE DIGITAL ONE SHOULD BE 100% ACCURATE. HAVE YOU HEARD OF THIS ISSUE OR HAVE SEEN IT IN YOUR MACAN TESTING? I HAVE TAKEN TO DEALER AND THEY NOTICED IT AS WELL AND TESTED OTHER MACANS AND DID THE SAME THING. SO, DEALER IS SAYING THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AND SPEEDOMETER MEETS GOVERNMENT SPECS/GUIDELINES WITH TOLERANCES ALLOWED.
I HAVE A 2017 PORSCHE MACAN AND SINCE HAVING THE CAR IN MY POSSESSION, THIS VEHICLE HAS A LONG BRAKE TRAVEL AND AT A FEW POINTS, I WAS NOT SURE THAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO STOP THE CAR ON TIME. FOR INSTANCE, WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, I BEGAN TO PUSH DOWN ON THE BRAKES ONLY TO APPLY ALL FORCE TO MAKE THE VEHICLE COME TO A FULL STOP-LUCKILY I WAS NOT ON A BUSY STREET BECAUSE I COULD NOT GET THE MACAN TO STOP BEFORE THE STOP SIGN. THE DISTANCE THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELS BEFORE THE BRAKES ACTUALLY ENGAGE IS VERY LONG. I AM QUITE DISAPPOINTED IN THE NEEDLESS EXTENT OF TRAVEL. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING SERVICED AT MANHATTAN MOTORCARS IN NEW YORK. WHEN INFORMING THE SERVICE CONSULTANT OF THIS ISSUE, I WAS LATER TOLD THAT "HE CANNOT RAISE THE PEDAL" AND LEFT IT AT THAT. ONE WOULD EXPECT MORE OUT OF PORSCHE CONSIDERING THE REPUTATION THEY TRY TO UPHOLD SO STRONGLY.
BRAKES ARE VERY SPONGY AND NEEDS TO BE PUMPED TO GET IMPROVED BRAKING. VERY RISKY IN SLOW SPEED DUE TO NO TIME/SPACE TO PUMP THE BRAKE. SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS DURING THE PAST FEW MONTHS. I TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER ON 5/15/17 TO CHECK. DEALER REPORT THAT THE BRAKES ARE NORMAL! I UNDERSTAND THAT ARE MANY COMPLAINTS BY THE MACAN OWNERS IN THE MACAN FORUM. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
I HAVE A 2017 BASE. THE DISTANCE THE BRAKE PEDDLE TRAVELS BEFORE THE BRAKES ENGAGE SEEMS VERY LONG. ABOUT 1/2 WAY DOWN. THE BRAKES THEN WORK FINE. IF I PUMP THE BRAKE ONCE THE PEDDLE SEEM TO RISE TO AN ACCEPTABLE LEVEL AND THE BRAKES SEEM STRONGER. I TOOK IT TO PORSCHE AND THEY SAID THE BRAKES ARE FINE. THE ONLY TIME I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED THIS BEFORE IN OTHER CARS IS WITH AIR IN LINE OR BAD MASTER. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM ? IT TAKES EXTRA TIME FOR THE BRAKES TO ACTIVATE WHICH CAN LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT
