The Transit van has an optional "Front Overhead Shelf." This shelf is installed on the Ford assembly line, this is not an aftermarket install. This overhead shelf is designed to hold hats, gloves and other light items. The issue is this shelf bounces and vibrates when the van is in motion. Any items stored on the shelf, falls on the driver's head and face. Ford has addressed this issue with a center support. But is not addressing previously manufactured vehicles. Ford manufacturer part number is: BK3Z-61519A-AC Dealership recognizes the issue and estimates $1,000 fee to correct. Ford warranty and support is not addressing this issue and offers no guidance. The Ford Transit Forum has multiple owners experiencing the same issue
Plastic accelerator pedal snapped off during normal driving. Made driving vehicle impossible. Vehicle had to be towed to dealer. Luckily was not going fast and was able to coast to the side of the road. This could be extremely dangerous if on a busy interstate.

The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving above 60 mph. The parts to replace the converter were not available to the independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 114,300.
THE PLASTIC HOLDING THE HOOD PROP ROD BROKE WHILE THE HOOD WAS UP CAUSING THE HOOD TO COME CRASHING DOWN. I HAD NOT TOUCHED THE ROD. LUCKILY I WAS NOT LEANING INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AT THE TIME. I WOULD HAVE HAD SERIOUS INJURIES IF IT HAD COME DOWN ON MY HEAD AND NECK. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.

WE WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65MPH AND SUDDENLY, THE VAN ENGINE SHUT OFF AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. A MESSAGE APPEARED STATING 'TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK. PUT IN P'. WE WERE ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THINKING WE MAY HAVE ACCIDENTALLY SHIFTED THE CAR INTO PARK OR THAT THE INCIDENT WAS JUST A FLUKE, WE TOOK THE CAR FOR ANOTHER TEST DRIVE ON A BACKROAD AND THIS HAPPENED AGAIN. BOTH TIMES, AFTER PULLING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WE WERE ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND DRIVE NORMALLY. WE HAVE SERIOUS CONCERNS FOR OUR SAFETY IF IT'S POSSIBLE FOR THE VAN TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING.
MULTIPLE PROMISES FROM FORD ALVI TX TO SUPPLY A MANUAL FOR MY BRAND NEW 2019 VAN WITHOUT SUCCESS AS WELL AS DOCUMENTING THAT THE VAN HAD ONLY 100 MILES ON IT WHEN IT ACTUALLY HAD 400 MILES ON IT P. AFTER THIS WAS MENTIONED TO THE SALES PERSON THE PAPERWORK WAS NOT UPDATED I AM A FEMALE GOING TO BE TRAVELING IN THIS VAN AND WITH THE PERFORMANCE HISTORY OF JUST GETTING A MANUAL MAKES ME UNCOMFORTABLE NOT KNOWING IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG WITH THE VAN THAT I WILL HAVE ADEQUATE RESPONSES FROM FORD.
THIS IS NOT A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS PUCHASE IN AUG2019. EVER SINCE I BEEN TRYING TO GET THE SLIDING DOOR FIX. THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN. IS BINDING, FROZEN. IT REQUIRES KNOWHOW AND ELBOW GREASE TO PRY IT OPEN. MY GRANDCHILDREN (AGES 7 TO 15) CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR. EITHER FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THE DOOR IS THE ONLY WAY OUT AND VIOLATES THE WARNING STICKER ON THE DOOR. ZECK , THE PLACE I PURCHASE THIS NEW CAR WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE FILE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS WITH BBB AUTO LINE BUT THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVE MY CCF CASE NUMBER FRD1930985. I HAVE SENT THIS SEVERAL TIMES. I AM GETTING TO BELIEVE THAT WHOM EVER IS WORKING MY COMPLAINT MIGHT BE ON THE FORD PAYROLL TO DISPOSE OF COMPLAINTS.
THE FORD TRANSIT I PURCHASED 08/05/2019 SLIDING DOOR DOES NOT OPEN. IT IS THE ONLY WAY OUT OF THE CAR. WHEN TRYING TO ENTER THROUGH THE DOOR IT TAKES SEVERAL MINUTES SO WE ENTER THRU THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. TO EXIT THE VEHICLE... NOT POSSIBLE IT'S STUCK. I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SEMI ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT. BUT THEY HAVE NOT AND THEY ARE NOT ANSWERING MY PHONE CALLS. AS AN EX-SAFETY OFFICER I SEE THIS AS A SAFETY VIOLATION. I CALL THE REGIONAL OFFICE AND SHE HAS NOT ANSWERD EITHER. THE ISSUE WAS DISCOVER TWO DAYS AFTER I BROUGHT THE CAR HOME AND I TRY TO PUT MY GRAND KIDS IN THE REAR SEATS.
