February 2021 - I took my vehicle to Wilson Hyundai in Flowood, MS - was told there was a recall having to do with my headlights but no components were available to make the repair. I have called numerous times to ask about replacement parts and get the run around. My lights are not bright and switching to bright is not even worth the effort. I can barely see 30ft ahead at best after the sun goes down. When will parts be available or some type of resolution because this is dangerous. There were no warning lamps on until maybe 1 month ago (October 2021), it tells me that I need to have my daytime running lamps serviced. I can't wait til I can trade this vehicle off. November 2, 2021 - I hit a dog because I did not see it.
The contact owns a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V301000 (Engine). The contact stated that the vehicle would not start while low on fuel. The contact had to keep refueling to a full tank to start the vehicle. The failure only occurred when the fuel level was at a quarter tank. The dealer was made aware of the failure but could not duplicate the failure since the vehicle had a full tank of gasoline. The dealer performed the recall repair; however, the failure recurred. Hyundai of Palatine (221 E Lake Cook Rd, Palatine, IL 60074) was also made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the recall was already repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.
Low beam headlights work fine. When engaging the high beam selector the high beams on both the left and right side do not work. There seems to be a lens that does not actuate to enable the high beams to shine.
It began in early 2020 my brakes shake when braking and sometimes don’t work at all. After having to change my brakes multiple times and get them flushed my mechanic suggested I contact Hyundai because this was not the norm. It happens spontaneously and now the car is dying when I brake . And won’t start without a jump. This happened now 2x once in my driveway and once in traffic.and I was almost hit by multiple cars since I had become disabled and couldn’t get out of traffic before my car came to a complete stop. This is unacceptable. It is a well maintained new car. The headlights are very low and don’t work well in dark areas. But the most concerning is the brakes and the car dying while driving. I need help asap.
There is a knocking noise in my engine. The car stalls in the middle of driving with NO warning. The car just dies. It is also using a lot of oil. I keep the oil changed and I check it often. The first two times I had it checked bc I heard a knocking noise, they said it’s low and then 2 weeks later it was already super low again!!!! Driving in town a few miles a day is no reason for oil to be gone. There is no oil in my driveway under the car or where I park it at work. I only drive 5 miles a day to and from work and running errands on the weekends. When the car just stopped in the middle of the road, 3 times, on my 5 mile drive to work, I almost got rear ended and almost hit the car in front of me. I know there is a recall on 2019 Hyundai’s but the Hyundai store in Norman said my VIN says my car should be fine. The problem is- the car is doing EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL says will happen. I need someone from Hyundai to help before someone gets really hurt from this car. I am in the car business and so is my family. However we aren’t in contact with Hyundai business and that sucks because maybe I could get someone to actually help with this instead of being treated horribly by all the people I’ve dealt with this week at Hyundai dealerships. This car is dangerous and I will be getting rid of it and buying any car that’s not a Hyundai if I can’t get this one fixed with the recalled parts.
El vehículo comenzó a apagarse ,en el taller se mencionó que el problema es con las válvulas del motor y según el taller es por falta de mantenimiento ,sin embargo al vehículo se le dió el mantenimiento adecuado.

Headlights will not go to high beam at times, other times the right side will not return back to low beam. I have had this problem many times and Hyundi replaced both headlights, but now they say they won't fix them because of the miles. This headlight design was new for the 2019 model year, I had a 2018, and a 2017 and had no problems with them. The 2019 has a projection type bulb, and uses a mechanical flap to change from high to low beam. This flap sticks, or fails to operate resulting in very intermittent operation. This is a very poor design and many times oncoming cars get blinded by one of the high beams that doesn't return to low beam. The problem is very intermittent so it doesn't always happen when your in the shop. I have talked to other Hyundi owners having the same problem, and I think this is a safety problem that needs a recall. Replacing these lights will cost about $1,000 and many people out of warranty will not replace them.
The contact owns a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that their vehicle began to emit a burning rubber type of odor that could at times caused them a headache. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who was unable to identify the cause of the issue. The dealer just continued to drain the cooling system to prevent the vehicle from overheating. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated while driving there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the vehicle and the vehicle failed to accelerate. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V301000 (Engine) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact called the local dealer who stated that the vehicle would not be repaired until November. The contact was informed about obtaining a loaner vehicle at a discount. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 50,400. Parts distribution disconnect.
The contact owns a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that the dealer completed an unknown recall repair on the vehicle however, when she picked up the vehicle from the dealer and was driving 30 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently stalled. Several warning lights including the check engine warning light were illuminated. The contact stated that she turned off the vehicle and was able to restart it after several attempts. The contact drove back to the dealer who informed the contact that they could not determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred while driving. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the engine oil needed to be drained and refilled. The contact stated the engine oil was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer who diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the warranty would not cover the recall repair for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V301000 (Engine) because the contact did not have the engine oil maintenance records. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.
The contact rented a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle the tire pressure monitoring system would remain illuminated although the tire air pressure was at the correct levels. Additionally, while driving at speeds exceeding 60 MPH, the front end of the vehicle and the steering wheel would shake and vibrate and, on several occasions, nearly caused another vehicle to crash into the rear. The steering wheel was difficult to turn in either direction. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 63,270.
Hyundai pohanka of Fredericksburg did not inform me of the engine recall. And tried to blame all problems that happened with the vehicle on myself. Sludge had built up in the engine due to the recall and damaged all timing components and are making me pay to fix it even tho it should have been covered due to the recall they never informed me about

Many times after only a few minutes of driving the blind spot warning ️ light comes on that it is unable to report any vehicles in this area. This light will stay on preventing any vehicle warnings of approaching vehicles. This light will stay on the duration of my driving whether on interstate or highway. I have repeatedly ask during service for this issue to be looked at and resolved only to be told there is no issue. I have recorded this issue as I was traveling to let you know just how long it stays on. It sometimes reset itself once vehicle is stopped and turned off for several hours.
Headlight s are defective. At 40,000 miles right side headlight has gone out and very difficult to drive at night time . The dealership said on service invoice. paperwork dated March 21, 2021 that my 2019 Elantra had a recall for lamp Assy- head service kit . It’s says recall Headlight repair (. 21-01-004h

The brake system of my vehicle failed completely when I was attempting to reduce my speed and exit the freeway. I exited through a red light and hit the light pole at freeway speed. Seconds later the cars to my right hit my car causing it to flip over. People involved in the collision got off to help me flip the car back over and by doing so my wrist broke. I also suffered from extreme whiplash.
The system that was affected was the engine, and inspection is available. We were all in seatbelts at the time of the incident. PepBoys has confirmed it is an electrical issue and they can't repair it and must be done by the original manufacturer. The warning lamps that appeared were the battery, oil, and the engine lamp. And still stops and appear everyday.
Engine knocking noise and slows down car speed
My high beams have not worked since I bought the car dealership told me they were recalled. Also steering column grinds whenninturnnthe steering wheel
The high beams just stop working. I bring the car to the dealer on March and the dealer said “ order the parts “… I call the dealer 5 times and the guys told me they don’t receive the parts! After 5 month don’t receive the parts? That’s ridiculous… My 2 high beams are dead and I need it!!! I drive in the night and for me is a safety issue because there’s not light in the road I need to take for work.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LEN STOLER HYUNDAI (11275 REISTERSTOWN RD, OWINGS MILLS, MD 21117) FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND SHE WAS INFORMED THAT AN UNKNOWN SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. SINCE THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL SAFETY FAILURES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, AN ABNORMAL GRINDING SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE TURNING. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AN AUDIBLE CHIME WAS HEARD. THERE WAS ALSO AN ABNORMAL BURNING ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF A HEADLIGHT RECALL FOR WHICH THE VIN WAS INCLUDED HOWEVER, PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT WILL NOT CHANGE FROM HIGH BEAM TO LOW BEAM. ONCOMING TRAFFIC FLASH THERE HIGH BEAMS AT ME TO WARN ME THAT MY HIGH BEAM IS ON MAKING NIGHT TRAVEL IMPOSSIBLE. I ALSO CAN'T DRIVE THROUGH A CITY OR I WILL GET A CITATION FOR HIGH BEAMS ON IN CITY LIMITS. THE NEXT ISSUE I'VE NOTICED IS THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE WEARS UNUSUALLY FAST.
THE HIGH BEAM BRIGHTS STOPPED WORKING
BOUGHT NEW, NO ACCIDENTS. JUST NOTICED A COUPLE WEEKS AGO THAT THE HIGH BEAMS DON'T WORK. I CAN SEE THEM 'NUDGE' A LITTLE WHEN I TRY TO ENGAGE THEM, BUT NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS.
PASSENGER SEAT BELT ALARM GOES OFF SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT WEIGHT IN IT OR WITH VERY LITTLE WEIGHT LIKE A SMALL PURSE SITTING IN IT WHILE DRIVING AND WILL CONTINUE TO GO OFF FOR PERIODS OF TIME. IT WON'T SHUT OFF EVEN WHEN YOU BUCKLE THE SEAT BELT. HEAD LIGHTS ARE NOT ADDIQUIT FOR LIGHTING THE ROADWAY AT NIGHT AND MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. I NEED THE HIGH BEAMS ON TO SEE NORMALLY
HANKOOK VENTUS S1 NOBLE TIRES SIZED 225/40 R18 TIRES ARE CRACKING ON THE SIDEWALL. I HAD A 2018 MODEL OF THIS SAME VEHICLE AND IT HAPPENED ON THOSE TIRES AS WELL. I JUST NOTICED THIS LAST NIGHT ON THE 2019 MODEL.
MAY 2019 VEHICLE WENT IN HAD THE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED DUE TO A RUBBING SOUND COMING FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE EVERY TIME STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED WHETHER IN TOWN OR HIGHWAY OR PARKED. NOV 2020 CRASH AVOIDANCE SYSTEM ACTIVATED WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME AT THE SAME TIME NOISE STARTED COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR (RATTLING) WHEN TURNING LEFT AND WHEN HITTING BUMPS, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNTS HAD BECOME LOOSE DAMAGING THE LOWER CONTROL ARM, STRUTS AND AFTER TIGHTEN THEY BECAME LOOSE AGAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACE. THIS TOOK THEM MONTH AND HALF TO FIND THE ISSUE AS WELL AS REPLACING THE CRASH AVOIDANCE SYSTEM. THE CAR STILL DOES NOT DRIVE CORRECTLY NOR DOES IT ALIGN PROPERLY ONLY SLIGHTLY OFF IN THE FRONT BUT WAY OFF IN THE REAR. SINCE PICKING THE VEHICLE UP 2 WEEKS LATER THE STEERING COLUMN IS MADE A POP SOUND AND HAS STARTED MAKING THE SAME RUBBING NOISE WHEN TURNING. I BOUGHT IT NEW NO ACCIDENTS TO DATE. HYUNDAI IS REPURCHASING THE VEHICLE. VERY SLOW PROCESS NOT TO MENTION CONCERNED WITH THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKING UP AS SEEN HERE.
LIGHTS ARE BEING REPLACED EVERY MONTH DUE TO BEING BURNED OUT THERE IS NO BRIGHT LIGHTS AT ALL..
SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR I NOTICED A LACK OF CONSIDERABLE LIGHT OUTPUT COMING FROM THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS. TURNING ON THE BRIGHTS IS JUST WORST AS IT LOWERS THE LINE OF SIGHT INSTEAD OF INCREASING IT. THE OVERALL LIGHTS ARE DIM. CHANGING THE BULBS DOES NOTHING. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT AS YOU CAN'T SEE VERY WELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE ILLUMINATION FROM THE HEADLIGHTS WERE INADEQUATE TO PROPERLY LIGHT THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER SUPERIOR HYUNDAI SOUTH (238 W MITCHELL AVE, CINCINNATI, OH 45232, (513)598-8700) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE SET DRIVING MY RPMS WENT TO 8 HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE ENDED UP CROSSING THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC HITTING THE SIDE OF THE ROAD GOING DOWN THE HILL INTO A DITCH.
HIGH BEAMS HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING
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
MY REAR AXLE HAS LOAD NOISE WHEN I'M DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY IT'S WINDING AND SOUNDING LIKE AN OVERSIZED SEMI.
CAR KEEPS SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING
ON OCTOBER 28, 2020 I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO JOE HOLLAND CHEVROLET IN CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA BECAUSE MY HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT WORK. THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A FAULTY HEAD LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND THAT I WAS AT LEAST THE THIRD PERSON THAT DAY WITH THIS ISSUE. THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY IS ON BACK ORDER. SINCE THE TIME CHANGE IT IS NOW DARK BY 5:00 PM AND I DON'T GET OFF WORK UNTIL 5:30 PM. I HAVE HAD TWO DEER STRIKES SINCE NOVEMBER 1, 2020 TO NOVEMBER 17, 2020, BECAUSE I HAVE NO HIGH BEAMS MY VISUAL DISTANCE IS GREATLY REDUCED. THESE TWO DEER STRIKES HAVE COST AN ESTIMATED $8,000.00.
NEITHER OF THE HIGHBEAMS WORK AND THEY BOTH STOPPED WORKING AT THE SAME TIME IT'S NOT THE RELAY IT'S NOT THE FUSE IT'S NOT THE BULBS.
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY ROAD MY SUNROOF EXPLODED SOUNDING LIKE A GUN SHOT OR VERY LOUD POP. MY VISOR WAS CLOSED SO GLASS DIDN'T LANDED ON ME.
LEFT FRONT SPEAKER CUTS OUT RANDOMLY.
AFTER HAVING MY 2019 HYUNDAI THAT I BOUGHT BRAND NEW MY HEADLIGHTS QUITE SWITCHING TO HIGH BEAMS AND WOULD ONLY RUN LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS BUT INSTEAD OF BEING BRIGHT THEY WERE DIMMER THAN WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO BE. I TRIED TO EXCHANGE THE HEADLIGHTS TO SEE IF THE BULBS WERE BURNT OUT AND EVEN WITH BRAND NEW BULBS THE HEAD LIGHTS STILL WOULDN'T SWITCH OVER TO HIGH BEAMS AND WERE STILL VERY DIM WITH BRAND NEW BULBS. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE WIRING HARNESS FOR BOTH HEADLIGHTS AND WHAT LOOKED LIKE A RELAY BOARD FOR THE BRIGHT LIGHT SWITCH LOOKED BURNT UP INSTEAD OF IT LOOKING LIKE A SHINY NEW SILVER BOARD. THEN ABOUT A WEEK LATER BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT COMPLETELY OUT AND I COULDN'T DRIVE AT NIGHT DUE TO NOT HAVING ANY HEADLIGHTS SO I REPLACED THE BULBS AGAIN AND AGAIN THEY GAVE ME A DIM LIGHT WITH NO HIGH BEAM LIGHTS. SO TO THIS DAY I AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH .MY HEADLIGHTS AND NO ONE FROM HYUNDAI CAN SEEM TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GOING ON ON THIS BRAND NEW 2019 HYUNDAI ELANTRA SE

T3W - ELANTRA ECM SOFTWARE UPDATE (19-01-027H) CAUSED BY RECALL THIS VEHICLE IS 3 MONTHS OLD AND HAD 2156 MILES ON IT WHEN I TOOK IT IN.
