2019 Land Rover Range Rover Velar SUV 4WD

My husband and I were going to the highway and the rear end of the passenger side portion fell apart. I'm still shocked from the weekend incident. My husband and a good friend of ours are working for Big 3 is Vehicle Safety and never ever saw this kind of an incident. Tow truck driver Richard who towed our car witnessed that they never saw this kind of damage. Range Rover retailer is not very receptive except that it is a tire issue and is not covered under warranty. This is my first time buying this Range Rover and I had a horrible experience. While we investigate further to determine the root cause of this incident, Would like to see the FMEA. I don't want this to happen to anyone and I will not be interested in driving this car. Would you be able to share any previous incidents similar to this? Would you please be able to escalate this to the next level of customer satisfaction? Thank you for your prompt response. The contact leased a 2019 LAND ROVER Range Rover Velar. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked with the parking brake activated, the vehicle rolled backward without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer and informed the mechanic of the failure. The mechanic inspected the vehicle and the contact was able to show him video footage of the failure. The vehicle was kept in the possession of the dealer for 10 days and the gear shifter was replaced. Soon after the repair, the contact stated that while his pregnant wife had placed the vehicle into park, the vehicle begun to roll backward without warning while she was exiting the driver’s side door. His wife immediately slammed her foot on the brake to stop the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer for a second time where they inspected the black box and found no fault with the vehicle. The case manager had spoken with the manufacturer who recommended changing all four tires. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The vehicle was not diagnosed and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000. Upon startup, vehicle infotainment system, radio controls, climate controls and blue-tooth are inoperative. Display is black but engine is running. This continues for a while even after driving has commenced. When vehicle comes to a stop at a signal or in traffic, engine stops and vehicles goes into park. This is different from when the vehicle normally auto shuts off in stop and go traffic. After a few minutes, display sometimes restores but usually the vehicle has to be shut down, locked, unlocked and then restarted, but this too does not always work. We have brought it in for service multiple times and we are told that they cannot reproduce the problem, but they updated the software. We submitted a video and photo of what happens during this problem, but the dealership has not resolved the issue. The vehicle has under 9000 miles and we have owned it from the dealer new since February of 2019. This has occurred numerous times and the engine stopping and vehicle going into park is the most recent issues as it seems to be getting worse.

Fan noise ramps up (loudly) as if the vehicle is accelerating for at least 2-3 minutes after the vehicle is shut off.

CAR BLACKS OUT STALL WHILE DRIVING AFTER CLICKING SOUND ON RIGHT SIDE OF CAR

FOR TWO YEARS THIS CAR AS HAD NUMEROUS EPISODES OF WHILE DRIVING COMPLETELY SHUTTING DOWN WITH NO ADVANCED WARNING AND AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. I HAVE DRIVEN ON WARM, COLD, WET AND DRY DAYS WHEN THIS HAS OCCURRED. MOST RECENTLY I WAS DRIVING ON A MAIN STREET WHEN THE CAR JUST SHUT DOWN AND WAS ALMOST HIT FROM BEHIND. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE MANY TIMES WITH NO RESOLUTION, THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE AUTOMOBILE AND I AM LUCKY THAT THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS ABLE TO AVOID THE COLLISION. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR, LUCK WAS ON MY SIDE THIS LAST TIME, I COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED OR WORSE. BESIDES THE SHUTTING DOWN THIS CAR HAS HAD SO MANY ELECTRICAL/COMPUTER ISSUES AND ALWAYS NEEDS SOFTWARE UPDATES WHICH DON'T REALLY FIX THE PROBLEMS AND SOMETIMES CAUSE OTHER ISSUES TO OCCUR. (IE, THE INFOTANMENT CENTER, THE BLUETOOTH, THE CAMERAS, THE MEDIA, THE NAVIGATION, THE ACCESS HEIGHT MOVES WHILE DRIVING, THE LIST IS ENDLESS.) SINCE SEPTEMBER 2018 THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP WITH MANY ISSUES. AGAIN, THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IT JUST STOPPED. ENGINE SHUT OFF AND LEFT ME STRANDED. CRANK IS DAMAGED AND I WAS TOLD I NEED A NEW ENGINE. LAND ROVER WILL NOT REPLACE THE ENGINE UNDER WARRANTY. SAID I NEED TO PAY FOR OUT OF POCKET. APPARENTLY THERE IS A RECALL FOR MY YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. LAND ROVER CLAIMS MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL.

ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2019, MY WIFE AND 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER PULLED INTO OUR DRIVEWAY IN OUR 2019 RANGE ROVER VELAR. SHORTLY BEFORE PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A COOLANT ALERT WENT OFF. THE CAR THEN BURST INTO FLAMES WHILE PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY. MY WIFE QUICKLY GOT OUR DAUGHTER OUT OF HER CAR SEAT AND RAN ACROSS THE STREET TO CALL 911. JUST AS SHE GOT TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET, THE CAR EXPLODED. I STARTED HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY SUV THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND THEN THE TRUCK WOULD START SHACKING OUT OF THE NO WHERE AND TURN OFF ALL OF A SUDEN, THIS HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL TIMES, I TOOK IT TO ITS DEALER AND MY TRUCK WAS AT THE DEALER FOR A LITTLE OVER A MONTH. SINCE THATS HAPPENED I HONESTLY DONT FEEL COMFERTABLE NOW.
