My husband and I were driving on the interstate in Indianapolis, Indiana yesterday, November22, 2021 and out of the clear blue our sunroof exploded on our 2019 Mercedes Benz E300W4. This was not due to being hit by something and we were not near an overpass. It exploded from the center outward. This experience scared me to death as I tried to maintain control of our vehicle in the multi lanes of traffic. Glass fell from the sunroof into our back seat which was another concern. Thankfully, we didn't have our grandchildren with us. We immediately headed to the Indianapolis Mercedes dealership where I got the car for service. They told us that it was not covered under warranty due to the damage being glass. They then told us to contact our insurance company for help. They were absolutely no help to us and seemed to brush us off as quick as they could. We are scheduled to have the sunroof repaired next week, however, now I'm a week without a car to drive, and the cost of the repair is estimated to be upward of $2,000. I have completed some due diligence on this, and found that there has been a class action lawsuit filed February, 2021 against Mercedes Benz over this same defective problem. Central digital driver cluster and lighting behind all speedo/tachometer randomly turns off while driving unexpectedly then fades back on. - can not see control indicators for adaptive cruise control when display fades out - can not see what gear the transmission is in when display fades out - at night can not see speedo, tach, or any items on the display when it fades out Dealership said they could not duplicate and didn't want to replace the cluster, because they have to send the part back to mercedes engineering and if the part wasn't faulty, the dealership would have to absorb the cost of repair. This happens every time I drive the car. Contacted Mercedes USA customer service and they have not been responsive.

1.BOTH FRONT SEATS BECOME EXTREMELY HOT AFTER 1-2 HOURS OF DRIVING, EVEN WITH COLD SEAT MODE ON. METAL BECOMES SO HOT UNDERNEATH SEAT, ALMOST COULD BURN HAND BY TOUCHING METAL PARTS. 2.STEERING WHEEL ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS LOOSENS AND STARTS RAPIDLY MOVING RIGHT AND LEFT PROMPTING ALERT ASSIST WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT FREEWAY SPEED WITHOUT ME DOING THIS OR NO LANES ARE CROSSED , IT FEELS LIKE CAR IS REMOTELY CONTROLLED. 3.CAR TRIES TO ACCELERATE AS I AM ON THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN FOR TRAFFIC LIGHT IN THE CITY PRODUCING SEVERE TRANSMISSION JERKS. 4. ENGINE TURNS OFF AND ON WITHOUT ME DOING IT ( IT IS NOT ECO, IT ACTUALLY COMPLETELY TURNS OFF AND ON). IT FEELS LIKE IT IS DONE REMOTELY. 5.SURROUND SENSORS CAUSE WARNING WITH NO DANGER PRESENT WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY OR MOVING AROUND PARKING LOT. 6. SEVERE TRANSMISSION JERKS WHILE CRUISING SMOOTHLY AT FREEWAY SPEEDS ON FREEWAY. 7. REGULAR ILLEGAL ENTRIES IN MY LOCKED CAR IN MULTIPLE STATES WHILE TRAVELING. SEEMS LIKE SOMEONE HAS REMOTE ACCESS TO MY CAR. TRIED TO ADDRESS WITH MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS IN TWO STATES, NO SOLUTION WAS OFFERED. I WAS TOLD NOTHING CAN BE DONE. I TOOK CAR TO ARROWHEAD MERCEDES BENZ DEALERSHIP FOR ALL THESE ISSUE. THEY CLAIMED THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE NOR REPRODUCE PROBLEM. ON HOT SEAT ISSUE I WAS LIED ABOUT DRIVING CAR FOR TWO HOURS AS ODOMETER READ 30 MILES SINCE REFUELING.
THE RIGHT SIDE BLIND ASSIST TURNS ON WHEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN AND ALSO GIVES FALSE WARNING LIGHT AND SOUND WHEN THERE'S NO CAR. THE RUN FLAT TIRES BLEW OUT AND DIDN'T WORK. THERE'S NO SPARE TIRE SO I CALLED MB SOS. I HAD TO CALL THEM 4 TIMES TO GET THEM TO SEND THE TOWING TRUCK. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE 45 MINUTES BUT IT TOOK OVER 2.5 HOURS IN THE DESERT SUN OUTSIDE OF LAS VEGAS.
THE POWER STEERING BECAME DISABLED DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS FLASHED. STEERING MALFUNCTION. INCREASE PHYSICAL EFFORT. ETC. IT WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE
I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO DEALERSHIP UNDER RECALL 2019080007 AND SUPPOSEDLY HAD PROBLEM CORRECTED BUT THE BRAKES CONTINUE TO PERIODICALLY ENGAGE FOR NO APPARENT REASON.
DRIVING AT 75 MPH, CAR SUDDENLY DECELERATED TO APPROX 45MPH WITHOUT WARNING. A TRIANGLE WITH RED IMAGE OF THE CAR'S REAR APPEARED ON SCREEN. I GRADUALLY INCREASED SPEED BACK UP TO 70 MPH AND SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED. CAR IS 2 YRS OLD WITH 7200 MILES ON IT. M-B DEALERSHIP HAS THE CAR NOW.
I HAVE ISSUES WITH MY SEATBELT AND THE CAR IS NOTIFYING ME THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH IT, AND WHEN I CALL MERCEDES BENZ, THERE IS NOBODY HELPING ME. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE DISMISSIVE TO MY COMPLAINT AND TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD NO PARTS TO FIX THE DEFECTIVE SEATBELT. I THEN CALLED MERCEDES BENZ CORPORATE OFFICE, AND I ASKED IF MY CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND THE YOUNG LADY WOULD NOT ANSWER ME, AND I RESTATED THE QUESTION AND SAID " ARE YOU SAYING MY CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE?' AND SHE SAID, "NO, I AM NOT TELLING YOU THAT THE CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE." SO, WHICH IS IT? I HAVE FAULTY SEATBELT AND THEY HAVE NO PARTS TO FIX IT. WHICH SEATBELT IS IT?
FOR THE PAST MONTH WE HAVE A LAT OF RAIN DURING THE RAIN INSIDE THE CAR ON DRIVER SIDE UP TO 3 INCH OF WATER AND STAY LIKE THAT FOR SEVERAL DAYS 3 WEEKS A GO WE WENT TO BEVERLY HILLS MBZ DEALERSHIP FOR OIL SERVICE AND WE SHOW THAT PROBLEM TO THE ADVISOR HI SAD ITS NOTHING WRONG AND IF WE WONT TO CLEAN THAT IT WILL COST US $150.00 I SAY NO ON THE 24 CRISTMAS EVE WAS RAIN AND THE CAR DIE SO I CALL THE DEALIRSHIP FOR THAT AND THEY SAND A TOW TRUCK WHEN THE TOW TRUCK CAME HI TOLD ME THAT FOR THE LAST WEEK HI TOW 3 CARS WITH SAME PROBLEM AND THE CAR CONSIDURE TO BE A TOTAL LOST BECAUSE ALL THE COMPUTERS GOT SHORTAGE
HIT ON DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AREA. PRESALE FAILED TO OPERATE. SEAT BELTS DID NOT RESTRAIN DRIVER OR PASSENGER. AIR BAGS DID NOT TRIGGER. DRIVER HIT STEERING WHEEL AND WAS INJURED. ENTERING INTERSECTION OF N. DRUID HILLS RD AND CLAIRMONT RD, ATLANTA, GA. MY VEHICLE WAS AT VERY LOW SPEED. OTHER VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT UNKNOWN SPEED. IT'S BEEN OVER A MONTH AND I USE MY CAR FOR UBER. UBER WON'T LET ME WORK UNLESS MERCEDES FIX THIS ISSUE. I'M SHORT ON MONEY AND THERE'S NOTHING I CAN DO AND I'M STILL MAKING PAYMENTS!
THE CAR DOES NOT DETECT A PROPERLY FASTENED SEATBELT SOMETIMES AND THE SEATBELT WILL NOT ADJUST AUTOMATICALLY EVEN WHEN PROPERLY FASTENED. BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELTS ARE AFFECTED. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE SEAT BELT MALFUNCTION CONTINUES. IN MY OPINION, THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE FOR DRIVERS SINCE THE AIRBAGS DO NOT ACTIVATE WHEN THE CAR IS UNABLE TO DETECT THAT SEAT BELT HAS BEEN FASTENED. PLEASE INVESTIGATE. SEE REPAIR INVOICE FROM DEALERSHIP THAT INCLUDES THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM AND WHAT WAS DONE TO FIX IT. UNFORTUNATELY, THE SEATBELT MALFUNCTION STILL CONTINUES.
I DROVE IN AND PARKED BEHIND A CHILD CARE CENTER. I WAS STOPPED AND SUDDENLY THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD CRASHING THROUGH A WOOD FENCE AND WAS ONLY STOPPED BY SOME PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT. BREAKING DID NOT STOP IT.
AT TIMES WHEN SEATBELT IS FASTENED IT IS DETECTED AS NOT HOOKED UP. RECALL IS IN EFFECT FOR SOME MODELS BUT NOT E300, 18V839000, THIS MODEL SHOULD BE LISTED ALSO. HAPPENS RANDOMLY.

AUTOMATIC STEERING FOLLOWED RANDOM STRIPE ON I 20 MAKING THE CAR LUNG TO THE LEFT LANE AND ALMOST GOING INTO THE MEDIAN IWAS WAS GOING 75 IN RAIN COULD HAVE WRECKED IF I DID NOT CORRECT IN SECONDS!
CAR DOES NOT ALWAYS RECOGNIZE WHEN THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT IS BUCKLED. THIS RESULTS IN THE PRETENSIONER NOT ACTIVATING AND THE SEAT BELT WARNING FROM BEING DISARMED.
