On 12/23 I was driving away from home for holiday, and my panoramic sunroof exploded. I was quite shaken as glass was everywhere, in hair, on me and of course in car. I suffered very minor cuts. Called Mercedes SOS. Mercedes customer care. Advised me to go to local dealer near home. 2019 GLC300W4 with ~26,890 miles at time of accident. Dealer, West Chester MB without looking said $10,484. Not under warranty because of year and miles. I see that in March of 2021, about 17,000 vehicles were recalled for sunroof problems, just not my specific model. Clearly, there is a problem.
I was going through drive thru waiting in line, when suddenly the car started to accelerate sharply, I put two feet on the brakes to stop the forward motion of vehicle - could not stop or place in park or neutral. their was ample room from the vehicle in front.. slightly removed feet from brake, suv lunged at vehicle in front kept on lunging then came to a halt...vehicle went back to normal operation.

The contact stated when driving at 25mph when the brake pedal was engaged the brake pedal went to the floorboard the vehicle crashed a pole and came to stop. there were no warning lights before during or after the failure occurred. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic shop. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
MERCEDES STATES THAT THE UPDATE WILL HAPPEN OVER AIR BUT THEY DON'T TELL ME WHEN OR HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO HAPPEN. IT IS A SIMPLE UPDATE AND I NEED THE RECALL OFF MY CAR.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, ON A STRAIGHT STRETCH OF ROAD, THE MOONROOF EXPLODED. THIS WAS NOT IMPACTED BY ANY OBJECT AND THERE WAS NO COLLISION. THIS GLASS SHATTER HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 MERCEDES-BENZ GL350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND ACCELERATING FROM APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH TO 60 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL BURNING ODOR INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. A MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INSTRUCTED THE DRIVER THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUT-OFF WITHIN 3 MINUTES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER, STALLED AND SHUT-OFF WITH SEVERAL UNKNOWN MESSAGES DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ODOR CAME FROM THE BATTERY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF SPRINGFIELD (295 BURNETT RD, CHICOPEE, MA 01020. (413)624-4100) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. *DT*JB
A FEW TIMES MY KEY WILL NOT FUNCTION TO START THE CAR. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE BATTERY. BUT THE DISPLAY ON MY LCD ALSO OFTEN DOES NOT FUNCTION WHEN ON CAR PLAY. THE STEERING IS JERKED WHEN I TURN THE WHEELS AS THEY SEEM TO GET STUCK ON THE PAVEMENT. OFTEN HAPPENS WHEN I AM BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND SOUNDS AS IF I AM HITTING SOMEONE. FEELS LIKE IT TOO
2:19 PM ARRIVED POMPANO MERCEDES-BENZ TO PICK UP MY SERVICED VEHICLE ( 10,000 MILE SERVICE). 2:23 PM RETURNED MERCEDES-BENZ LOANER PROVIDED BY DEALERSHIP. 2:30 PM SERVICE ADVISER BRINGS CAR INSIDE THE SERVICE AREA, AND PROVIDES ME A RECEIPT OF THE SERVICE PERFORMED. 2:30 PM I LEAVE THE INSIDE SERVICE AREA AND GO TO DRIVE-THROUGH MC DONALDS (IN THE SAME COMPLEX AS DEALERSHIP). I DID NOT STOP, OR GET OUT OF THE CAR. 2:35 PM I LEAVE THE MC DONALDS DRIVE-THROUGH IN THE SAME COMPLEX AS MERCEDES DEALERSHIP AND ENTER THE I-95 SOUTH TOWARDS HOME/OFFICE.2:35 PM ' 2:58PM DRIVING I95 SOUTH FOR 20 OR SO MINUTES, I CAME TO A STOP IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. UPON STOPPING I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD, AND MOVED TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. THERE WERE NO UNUSUAL WARNINGS OR READINGS FROM THE CAR. I PULLED THE HOOD LATCH ON THE INSIDE, AND GOT OUT AND APPROACHED THE FRONT OF THE CAR TO PULL THE LEVER AND OPEN THE HOOD. I HEARD A 'POP' IN THE ENGINE, AND SMOKE INTENSIFIED, AND WAS GETTING DARKER, SO I BACKED AWAY FROM THE CAR (MOVING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD) AND BEGAN FILMING WITH MY PHONE. 2:59 PM I PHONED 911 FEARING A FIRE. I TOOK A VIDEO OF LIQUID DRIPPING FROM UNDER THE ENGINE, WITH SMOKE GROWING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. 2:59 PM (AGAIN)I PHONED 911 AGAIN BECAUSE THE SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD IS DARKER, AND I TOOK ANOTHER VIDEO WHILE WAITING. AS I WAS CALLING 911, THE CAR BURST INTO FLAMES UNDER THE HOOD, AND INSTANTLY THE FLAMES BECAME HIGHER THAN THE HEIGHT OF THE CAR. 3:00 PM VIDEO OF CAR FIRE INTENSIFYING AS I STEPPED AWAY FROM CAR (WITH 911 ON SPEAKER AS I REPORT IT'S A FULL FIRE AT THIS POINT). 3:02PM (PHONE TIME STAMP) I RAN A SHORT DISTANCE FROM CAR AND CONTINUED TAKING (2) VIDEOS OF THE INCIDENT. FLAMES HAD MOVED FROM THE ENGINE, TO THE INTERIOR IN THIS SHORT TIME. CONTINUED MULTIPLE VIDEOS UNTIL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED 3:13. THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED BY THE FIRE.

WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE, IT WOBBLED, MADE A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE, JERKED, AND SKIPPED WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO COMPLETE A TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF THE WOODLANDS (16917 INTERSTATE I45, CONROE, TX 77385, (936) 206-7500), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO RECREATE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15.
TL THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 MERCEDES-BENZ GLC350E4. WHILE DRIVING AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD BEFORE IT STOPPED. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE ALSO OVERHEATED, WHICH CAUSED THE COOLING SYSTEM NOT TO WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FLETCHER JONES MOTORCARS (949-718-3000, LOCATED AT 3300 JAMBOREE RD, NEWPORT BEACH, CA 92660), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE. ON ONE OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE OVERHEAT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED TO THE SIDE AND WAS LATER DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE SAME DEALER AND WAS INFORMED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER SENT A TOW TRUCK AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THERMOSTAT WAS BLOCKED. THE THERMOSTAT WAS REPLACED, BUT THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OVERHEATING DID NOT COMPLETELY STOP. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. *JS
WIPER BLADES ON WINDSHIELD SKIP DURING DRIVING ON ROADS AT ALL SPEEDS, EVEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND IN THE RAIN AND HARD TO SEE THE ROAD WHEN DRIVING . THEY DO NOT CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD AND CONSTANTLY SKIP ACROSS EVERY TIME. I HAVE HAD MERCEDES BENZ REPLACE AND ADJUST MY BRAND NEW CAR WIPER BLADES AND STILL THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. I CALLED 1800MERCEDES AND THEY SAID THEY ARE AWARE IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND WILL LET ME KNOW IF AND WHEN IT GETS RESOLVED. NO OTHER WIPER BLADES ON THE MARKET FROM AUTO ZONE, ADVANCE AUTO PARTS ETC., WILL FIT MY CAR!!
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET WHEN IT STALLED AND EVEN THOUGH I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR, VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. A MESSAGE IN RED APPEARED STATING THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH FUEL AND TO GO RE-FUEL, EVEN THOUGH THE TANK WAS 3/4 FULL. THE ENERGY FLOW THROUGH THE BATTERY WAS 16-19%. I HAD TO SHUT OFF THE CAR. WAIT. THEN, RE-START AND WAS ABLE TO GET HOME. PROBLEM: 1. THE CAR GAS ENGINE DID NOT KICK IN AND THE MESSAGE WAS TO RE-FUEL (CAR DID NOT RECOGNIZE ALMOST FULL TANK OF GAS). 2.STALLED WHILE IN MOTION. (I AM GLAD THIS DID NOT HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY). THE LOCAL DEALER HAS THE CAR NOW AND I AM DRIVING A LOANER. THEY HAVE THE CAR SINCE SAT APRIL 20,2019. I PURCHASED A 2019 GLC AMG 43 AS A XMAS GIFT FOR MY WIFE. IT WAS BLACK WITH A VIBRANT BROWN INTERIOR. I WAS CONCERNED THAT THE ELECTRONICS(BACKUP CAMERA, BLUETOOTH, MUSIC, ENTERTAINMENT CONSOLE) WERE NONFUNCTIONAL. HOWEVER, THE EXPLANATION THE SALES REPRESENTATIVE GAVE ME WAS SUFFICIENT AT THE TIME. HE SAID MERCEDES WAS UPDATING THEIR COMPUTER SOFTWARE AND WE SHOULD BE GETTING AN UPDATE ON JANUARY 2, 2019. NEEDLESS TO SAY, IT WAS NOT TRUE! THE SERVICE MANAGER EXPLAINED THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS MISSING THE "BRAIN." THE COMPUTER SYSTEM THAT COMMUNICATES WITH THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN OUR VEHICLE?YES! WE WERE SOLD A VEHICLE THAT WAS NOT READY FOR PRODUCTION. IT'S UNSAFE, AND RATHER THAN BEING OFFERED ANOTHER COMPARABLE VEHICLE FOR BEING SO NEGLIGENT AND INCONVENIENCING ME AND FAMILY, THE GENERAL MANAGER HAS AVOIDED SPEAKING WITH US ALL TOGETHER. I HAVE BEEN COMMUNICATING WITH MERCEDES USA TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. AT ONE POINT OF THE TRANSACTION WE WERE ASKED TO POSSIBLY CONSIDER TAKING THE REFURBISHED VEHICLE BACK AFTER ITS REPAIRS. NONE OF THESE GUYS MAKING THE RECOMMENDATION WOULD TAKE A VEHICLE THAT THEY BOUGHT BRAND NEW AFTER IT HAS HAD MAJOR SAFETY AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THIS IS MERCEDES LONG BEACH SICK IDEA OF WORLD CLASS SERVICE! TO ADD SALT TO THE WOUND, IT'S NOW BEEN OVER 3 WEEKS AND WE MUST MAKE A CAR PAYMENT ON A VEHICLE THAT SITS IDLE WAITING FOR MISSING COMPONENTS. UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR MERCEDES TO DO THE RIGHT THING. THIS WILL BE THE LAST MERCEDES MY FAMILY AND I WILL PURCHASE
