VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING.OCCURS FREQUENTLY, MOSTLY AT LOW SPEEDS OR WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME.DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO REPLICATE WHEN TEST DRIVING. MB CHAT ROOM INDICATES THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM W/O A FIX. I HAVE JUMPED A CURB, HAD THE VEHICLE HESITATE WHEN MERGING IN TRAFFIC AS WELL AS WHEN MAKING A TURN. IT IS A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED AS IT CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. LAST OCCURRENCE WAS THIS MORNING (MARCH 19, 2021)
I WAS TRAVELING EAST ON INTERSTATE 70 TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HYDROPLANE SEVERELY. I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND SLAMMED INTO THE CONCRETE DIVIDER. THERE WERE OTHER VEHICLES TRAVELING ALONG THE SAME HIGHWAY WITHOUT ANY CONTROL PROBLEM. THIS CONTROL PROBLEM DURING RAIN HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE I'VE HAD IT. IT HAS NEVER FELT SAFE WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN. I'VE FOUND OTHER GLE 43 AMG OWNERS REPORTING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN. *TR
VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH HALOGEN HEADLIGHTS WHICH ARE OF POOR PERFORMANCE. AS SUCH IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SEE THE ROADWAY. MERCEDES CLAIMS PERFORMANCE PER SPECIFICATIONS. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS NOT ENOUGH LIGHTING TO ALLOW FOR A SAFE STOPPING DISTANCE. SITUATION WORSENS WITH RAIN OR SNOW MAKING THE LIGHTS ALMOST DISAPPEAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 MERCEDES BENZ GLE400. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE HEADLAMP BEAM PROJECTED WAS INSUFFICIENT FOR SAFE VEHICLE OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES- BENZ OF DANBURY LOCATED AT (100 FEDERAL RD, DANBURY CT.) WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETECT A FAILURE WITH THE HEADLAMPS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,500. UPDATE: THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE ISSUES CONTINUED TO OCCUR BETWEEN NOV-DEC 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS RECALLED.*AS
SAME ISSUE AS LAST YEAR'S RECALL - REAR SEAT PASSENGERS IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES MAY NOT BE ABLE TO FASTEN THEIR SEAT BELTS. TRYING TO BUCKLE MY 7 YR OLD SON IN AND SEATBELT WILL NOT LOOSEN TO STRETCH ACROSS HIS BODY. HAS BEEN GOING ON NOW FOR ABOUT A WEEK OR TWO.
