When using the Intelligent Cruise Control the car gets false readings and brakes your car automatically which is dangerous while driving on the highway.
The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving in the rain at an undisclosed speed, the contact adjusted the windshield wiper speed and the wipers inadvertently stopped working. The failure had been recurring since November 11, 2020. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer performed an electrical test of the windshield wiper and informed the contact that the windshield wipers were functioning properly. Recently, the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the vehicle had not been diagnosed nor repaired. The vehicle remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 49,700.
Drivers side rear tire blew out while coming to stoplight at approx 15 -20 MPH. No prior warning message If this had happened at highway speed it could have caused injury or death. There was no impact to the tire prior to blowout. We are retaining tire for inspection and are afraid to continue using the remaining 3 tires. We purchased 4 tires new from Tire Kingdom in Fort Myers Fl (#6309 #39) when our vehicle had 15049 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that after refueling and driving while coming to a stop there was an abnormal sound of water moving around inside the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and suggested that the vehicle be taken to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.
VEHICLE WAS PERFECTLY FINE, BUT THEN BEGIN TO STALL OUT ON 3/1 IN MOTION ON THE STREET, WHILE TURNING, & BACKING UP. THEN ON 3/18 WHEN ATTEMPTING TO BACK UP THE CAR IT COMPLETELY STOPPED. CAR IS AT THE SHOP NOW WITH REPORTED TRANSMISSION ISSUES.
FRONT DRIVER'S WINDOW KEEPS GETTING STUCK WHEN YOU TRY TO ROLE IT UP, REAR HATCH NOT WORKING PROPERLY, GAS TANK OPENER GETS STUCK, SUNROOF LEAKS WATER INTO THE CAR GOING THROUGH A CARWASH, BAD SEAL ON ELECTRIC SUNROOF, TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS.
GOING DOWN A BUSY ROAD AT 45 MILES PER HOUR MY CAR STOPPED COMPLETELY AND STARTED BEEPING AND A WARNING LIGHT CAME UP ON THE DASHBOARD WITH A BIG EXCLAMATION POINT. THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF MY CAR NO OTHER CARS AND IT COMPLETELY STOPPED ON ITS OWN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I WAS SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR AND THEY SAID THE SENSOR WAS FAULTY THEY REPLACED IT WITH THE SAME SENSOR AND SAID THAT NISSANS DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH DEPT. WAS SHUT DOWN THAT THEY ARE THE ONES TO FIGURE THE ISSUE OUT BUT THEY REPLACED WITH SAME SENSOR AND SAID IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN WITHIN 6 MONTHS TO A YEAR FROM THE HEAT.
WHEN DRIVING MY CAR JUST SHUTS OFF FOR NO REASON IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIME NOW
AEB (AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING) LIGHT RANDOMLY COMES WHICH MEANS AEB FUNCTION HAS BEEN TURNED OFF. THIS ACTION DISABLES INTELLIGENT CRUISE CONTROL WHICH RELIES ON AEB TO AUTOMATICALLY SLOW THE CAR IF IT ENCOUNTERS A SLOWER VEHICLE AHEAD. ONLY HAD THE CAR A WEEK OR SO, BOUGHT USED WITH 40,000 MILES ON IT FROM ENTERPRISE CAR RENTAL. READING THE WEB INDICATES THIS COULD BE AN ISSUE IF YOU ARE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ENABLED AND THEN CRUISE CONTROL IS RANDOMLY TURNED OFF DUE TO FAULTY (BOSCH?) RADAR SENSOR. VEHICLES WITH AEB SHOULD HAVE A MEANS TO TURN AEB OFF WITHOUT DISABLING FEATURES SUCH AS CRUISE CONTROL. CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE IS PRETTY STANDARD AND HAS BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS. SHOULD NOT DISABLE IT SIMPLY DUE TO NEW GOVERNMENTAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AT START-UP THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO PINNACLE NISSAN (7601 E FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT BLVD, SCOTTSDALE, AZ 85260) WHERE THE MECHANIC INFORMED HIM THAT HE COULD SMELL FUEL COMING FROM THE VEHICLE AND THAT THE ISSUE WAS DUE TO A LOOSE GAS CAP. UPON RETURN OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO SMELL A FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE AND DECIDED TO BUY A NEW GAS CAP. THE CONTACT THEN STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, HIS WIFE AND THE OTHER OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE ALL RECEIVED HEADACHES DUE TO THE STRONG FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. A FEW DAYS LATER THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FLAGSTAFF NISSAN (4960 E MARKETPLACE DR, FLAGSTAFF, AZ 86004) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK, THE FUEL O RING, AND OTHER PARTS IN AND AROUND THE GAS TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN THE POSSESSION OF THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HE WOULD RECEIVE A CALL BACK AND HAD YET TO HEAR FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.

AS I WAS IN THE DRIVETHRU WITH THE CAR IDLING, IT STARTED TO SHAKE AND IT FELT LIKE A THUMPING GOING ON. I PUT THERE CAR IN PARK AND IT KEPT GOING FOR ABOUT S MINUTE OR TWO BEFORE IT STOPPED. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENS. *TR

I WENT OUT TO MY CAR, WHICH WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE - LOCKED- AND AFTER I STARTED THE CAR, SOMEONE HAD CHANGED MY HEAT SETTINGS TO 85 AND CHANGED ALL OF MY RADIO SETTINGS. *TR
WE PURCHASED A BRAND NEW NISSAN PATHFINDER 2019 IN MARCH AND TODAY AS WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY WITH NO CARS TO THE FRONT OF US OUR SUNROOF EXPLODED THROWING GLASS EVERYWHERE OFF THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. THANK GOODNESS WE HAD THE INSIDE VISOR CLOSED OTHERWISE IT WOULD HAVE ALL COME IN AND HIT MY 4 YEAR OLD WHO WAS SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT. WHEN I CONTACTED THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM THE SERVICE REP SAID IT WAS A ROCK AND THERE IS NOTHING NISSAN CAN DO ABOUT IT. DIDN'T EVEN LISTEN TO THE FACT THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF US AND THE SUNROOF EXPLODED OUTWARD NOT IN. THE EXPLOSION ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED MY HUSBAND, SON AND MYSELF AS IT SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT. I HAVE NO IDEA IF THE CHUNKS OF GLASS FLYING OFF THE BACK OF THE CAR ENDED UP HITTING ANY CARS THAT WERE BEHIND US. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2019 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELLING AT 60 MPH. THE CRASH CAUSED HER SEATBELT TO UNLATCH. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO BRACE HERSELF BUT HER SPINE WAS INJURED AND SHIFTED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT TRANSPORTED BY AN AMBULANCE BUT WENT TO URGENT CARE THAT SAME DAY AND THEN WENT TO ANOTHER DOCTOR FOR MORE XRAYS. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE IF THE OTHER DRIVER WAS INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP AND WAS DEEMED TOTALED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,800. *DT*JB
ON TAKE OFF THE VEHICLE ENGINE HAVE A SMALL KNOCKING.
OUR RENTER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE WAS GREAT UP UNTIL THE INCIDENT. STATES THAT THEY FILLED THE VEHICLE UP WITH GAS AROUND 4PM BEFORE PARKING IT JUST OUT IN FRONT OF WHERE THEY WERE STAYING. AT 1AM THEY WERE AWOKEN BY A DISTURBANCE OUTSIDE AND SOMEONE BANGING ON THEIR DOOR TELLING THEM THEY NEEDED TO COME OUTSIDE - WHEN HE ARRIVED HE NOTICED THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED BUT IT TOOK ALMOST AN HOUR, PER RENTER, TO PUT OUT THE FLAMES AS THE VEHICLE KEPT LEAKING GASOLINE. APPARENTLY THERE IS A WITNESS TO THE BEGINNING OF THE FIRE FROM A [XXX] ([XXX]) WHO HEARD THE VEHICLE'S HORN AND OBSERVED NO ONE IN THE VEHICLE AND THEN THERE WAS AN "EXPLOSION" AS IT CAUGHT FIRE (POTENTIAL ALARM?) THE FIRE REPORT CONFIRMS THAT OUR RENTAL VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. THEY INDICATE THAT THE FIRE WAS "MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION" AND "UNINTENTIONAL." THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND UNOCCUPIED AT THE TIME OF COMBUSTION. *** PLEASE CONTACT THE ADJUSTER WE HIRED TO ASSIST US WITH THIS MATTER. HIS NAME IS [XXX] WITH SEDGWICK CLAIMS MANAGEMENT SERVICES. PHONE: [XXX]. EMAIL: [XXX] THANK YOU. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
TRAVELING I-80 FROM YORK, NE TO LINCOLN, NE. ON JUNE 3, 2019, 11:47 A.M. APPROX. 2 MILES WEST OF HWY 15 EXIT, WE HEAR A LOUD EXPLOSION AND THOUGHT A TIRE OR SOMETHING HIT OUR PATHFINDER. LUCKY NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE AROUND US AND THE WEATHER WAS HOT WITH CLEAR SKYS. I PULLED INTO A DIVIDED PORTION OF THE INTERSTATE AND INSPECTED THE CAR AND FOUND EVERYTHING OK. STARTED DOWN THE ROAD AGAIN AND WE HEARD PIECES OF SOMETHING ROLLING OFF OUR ROOF. I INSPECTED THE REAR SUNROOF, FOUND IT OK AND THEN STARTED PULLING BACK THE FRONT COVER OF THE SUNROOF AND REALIZED THE GLASS HAS SHATTERED. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED OUR SALESMAN AT NISSAN TO REPORT THE DAMAGE AND TO SEE IF IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. HE SAID IT WOULD HAVE TO BE LOOKED AT AND WE COULD HAVE A LOANER TO USE IN THE MEAN TIME.

5-13-2019 (5 AM) I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. THE AEB (AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM) WAS ACTIVE. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION UNTIL IMPACTING A MERCEDES. I WAS ON THE "MAZE" I-880 (FREEWAY) AND CHP ARRIVED AT 5:25 AM AND A FIELD REPORT FILE WAS FILE AND I WILL CONTEST IT. SEE ATTACHMENT. THERE IS A PREPARE DOCUMENT EXPLAINING. I SAW NO WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH DURING MOTION OR CRASH TIME. DRIVING ULTIMATELY A DASH RED INDICATOR CAME ON. AT THE TIME I DID NOT KNOW WHAT THAT TO THINK. UPON RETURNING HOME IT SAID THE CAR MIGHT SUDDENLY STOP. RESEARCHING I FOUND A WAY TO TURN OFF THIS FEATURE. BUT EVERY-TIME ONE TURNS ON THE IGNITION, THIS SWITCH RESETS ITSELF... THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN IT COMPLETELY, BUT OTHER SAFETY FEATURES DO. I FIND THIS ODD AND PROBLEM UNTIL CAR IS REPAIRED. I BELIEVE THIS SYSTEM FAILED TO OPERATE, BUT EVALUATION IS DIFFICULT. I LIKE THE BLACK BOX RECORDER TO BE DOWN LOADED. I FOUND A PERSON WHO CAN DO THIS, BUT HE CAN NOT EVALUATE THE DATA. DOES THE NHTSA HAVE THIS SKILL? I BELIEVE MY START OF THE ART CAR COULD TELL US MORE. PRESENTLY PATHFINDER SL OWN BY [XXX] IS AT JIM BONE NISSAN SANTA ROSA WAITING FOR A PART. I WILL ATTACH TWO FILES CONTAINING ALL RELATED INFORMATION. I AM AWARE AFTER THIS ACCIDENT THAT THERE IS AN EFFORT TO RECALL PATHFINDER SL CONCERNING THIS SENSOR AEB. THANK YOU.
