THE SUPER CRUISE SELF DRIVING FEATURE DOESN'T WORK AND ERROR MESSAGES CONTINUOUSLY FLASH ON DASHBOARD. IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER SINCE 12/16 (>9 WEEKS) WITHOUT ANY RESOLUTION. CALLS, EMAILS, POSTS TO CADILLAC AND GENERAL MOTORS GO UNANSWERED. DEALER TELLS ME CADILLAC ENGINEERS FROM CORPORATE COME AND GO WITH NO SOLUTION. I'VE MADE 2 PAYMENTS TO DATE WITHOUT MY CAR. I NOTIFIED GM FINANCIAL I WILL NO LONGER MAKE PAYMENTS ON A CAR I DO NOT HAVE. ALSO NO RESPONSE.
ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2020 I WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT IN MARYSVILLE, OHIO. IT APPEARED THAT TRAFFIC STARTED TO MOVE, SO I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY THE EMERGENCY BRAKING FEATURE ENGAGED. WHILE THIS TENDS TO STARTLE YOU BECAUSE IT IS SO ABRUPT, ALMOST LIKE A HEAD-ON COLLISION, I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE. THE BRAKE DID NOT STOP THE CAR. IT WAS SIMILAR TO WHEN ANTI-LOCK BRAKING IS ENGAGED. THE BRAKES FELT LIKE THEY WERE PULSATING, SO THE CAR CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD UNTIL IT PRESSED UP AGAINST THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I HAVE HAD SOME INSTANCES WHERE WHEN BACKING UP, IN A COMPLETELY EMPTY PARKING LOT OR STREET AND THE CAR WILL BRAKE ON ITS OWN. THERE ARE NO POSTS, TREES OR ANY OBJECTS LIKE THAT ANYWHERE NEARBY TO TRIGGER THE BRAKING. THE MARYSVILLE (OHIO) POLICE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED TO THE ACCIDENT. THE FILE NUMBER FOR THE POLICE REPORT IS 20.01993. I WAS NOT CITED BECAUSE I WAS IN ESSENCE UNABLE TO STOP THE CAR. THERE WAS PLENTY OF TIME TO STOP THE CAR AS I DON'T BELIEVE I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AT ALL. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS A WARNING APPEARING THAT INDICATES DRIVER ASSIST SYSTEM NEEDS SERVICE. I'M NOT SURE IT'S SAFE TO OPERATE THIS VEHICLE SINCE THIS HAPPENED WHILE IN TRAFFIC.

CAR WAS ACQUIRED IN FEBRUARY AND SCRAPING NOISE IN FRONT BRAKES WAS NOTICED IN MAY. WAITED TO SEE IF THE NOISE WOULD GO AWAY BY ITSELF BUT BECAME LOUDER AND TOOK TO CADILLAC DEALER, MILLER CADILLAC IN ELLICOTT CITY MD TELEPHONE 410-750-1100 ON JULY 30. I WAS TOLD THE MECHANIC COULD HEAR THE NOISE BUT COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE SOURCE. HE CALLED GM AND THEY TOLD HIM THERE WAS TECH BULLETIN #PIC6290C INSTRUCTING THE MECHANIC TO TELL CUSTOMER THE NOISE IS NORMAL DOES NOT AFFECT SAFETY OR RELIABILITY OF THE CAR BUT WOULD NOT TELL THE MECHANIC THE CAUSE OF THE NOISE, WHICH IS GETTING WORSE! HOWEVER THE TECH BULLETIN STATES THE CAUSE WAS DETECTED AND CORRECTED ON OCTOBER 30, 2017! THE ISSUE OBVIOUSLY IS NOT CORRECTED AND IS NOT GOING AWAY. I AM CONCERNED THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ESPECIALLY SINCE GM WOULD NOT TELL THE TECHNICIAN THE CAUSE SO I CAN MONITOR IT. THE BRAKE NOISE OCCURS ON ALL ROADWAYS WHETHER FAST OR SLOW WHETHER TURNING OR STRAIGHT AS CONFIRMED BY THE LOCAL MECHANIC. WHY WON'T GM INFORM OWNERS AND MECHANIC SO THEY CAN ASSESS THE PROBLEM AND UNDERTSAND THE DRIVING RISK?
1 Recalls
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020 Cadillac CT6 vehicles equipped with dealer-installed accessory 20" x 8.50" wheels (RPO 5JO or SHH). The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensors use the incorrect wireless radio frequency and cannot illuminate the low pressure warning light when the tire pressure drops below the recommended level. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."
