The contact owns a 2020 Dodge Charger equipped with Pirelli Tires, Tire Line: PZero A/S, Tire Size: 305/35/R20, DOT Number: JRCDW541. While driving at highway speed, 40-50mph during heavy rain; encountered a puddle, the plastic belly pan just forward of the rear axle acted as a scoop and took on water. This resulted in the belly pan bolt being ripped from the structure of the vehicle. The belly pan then folded under the car and was dragged. I had this fixed under warranty. During the next heavy rain, I again hit a puddle, the bolt was ripped from the structure again. Luckily both times I was able to slow to a stop. However I believe this presents a serious hazard at freeway speeds of +65mph, where the entire belly pan can disintegrate and fly off into traffic. This is a defect in design and does not hold up to normal wear. It presents a very significant problem. When looking at car forums, it appears this problem is wide spread and presents a very real risk of hurting someone.
The contact's son owns a 2020 Dodge Charger. The contact stated while his son was driving 40 MPH, when another vehicle was making a turn and collided with the front driver side of the vehicle. The contact stated another vehicle pushed his son's vehicle across 10 meters and crashed into a wall. The air bags did not deploy. The driver (son) sustained injuries on his neck and back but did not seek medical attention on the day of the incident. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a body shop. The contact stated the following day, the driver sought medical attention at an urgent care. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
STARTED WITH RADIO AND DASH GAUGES RESETTING TO ZERO WHILE DRIVING. MOST RECENTLY, THE CAR RESTARTED WHILE DRIVING. DURING THE RESTART THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE HALT. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE ON A CAR LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD AND JUST AT 3,500. AS THIS IS INTERMITTENT, DIFFICULT TO TELL WHAT CAUSES THIS PROBLEM. PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A MONTH. DATE CHOSEN WAS THE DATE THE CAR ACTUALLY PERFORM A COMPLETE RESTART AND MAKING IT A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE.
I BOUGHT A 2020 DODGE CHARGER IN JANUARY. THE PASSENGER SEAT IS MANUEL AND THE LUMBAR SUPPORT IS EXTEDED TO THE FULLEST. THERE IS NO RELEASE TO BE FOUND. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR THE SALESMAN SAID THERE WAS AN ADJUSTMENT LEVEL SOMEWHERE. YOU ARE UNABLE TO SIT BACK CORRECTLY BECAUSE OF THIS. IF YOU HAVE TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES, YOUR HEAD COULD HIT THE DASH EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR SEATBELT ON. YOU ARE UNABLE TO SIT BACK IN THIS SEAT YOU HAVE TO LEAN FORWARD.
I HEARD A CAR RUNNING OUTSIDE WHEN I CHECKED IT WAS THE CHARGER IT WAS ON IT TURNED ON BY ITSELF
