We were driving my 2020 Ford Edge when my vehicle and another vehicle collided. The entire front end of my Ford was smashed in due to the force of the impact. We had to be extracted by the fire department, because we could not open the doors. My pre collusion alert system did not sound off; nor did the airbags deploy despite the rate of speed from the other car as we both entered the intersection. As a result of the airbags failing to deploy, my wife suffered injuries resulting in a trip to the ER. She is still treating with medical providers. Prior to this incident we had no indication of any safety features failing. No warning lights, messages or other symptoms. The manufacturer has been made aware of the incident but has not yet inspected the vehicle at the time of this report. It is currently being held at an auto repair shop.
On 11-16-2021 I put my 2020 Ford Edge in park, got out, and it rolled away. After I put the Edge in park, I opened my door and was moving a trash can, when the Edge rolled forward pinning me.
BUCKLED THE CENTER REAR BELT INTO THE RECEIVER BUCKLE OF THE RIGHT SIDE IT WOULD NOT UNBUCKLE . THE MALE BUCKLES ARE THE SAME ON THE LEFT AND CENTER THE ONE ON THE RIGHT IS DIFFERENT. THE RIGHT MALE BUCKLE WILL NOT FIT THE CENTER FEMALE RECEIVER BUT THE CENTER MALE BUCKLE WILL GO IN THE RIGHT FEMALE RECEIVER, BUT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RELEASE IT. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE PERSON (SCARED, SCREAMING,CHILD) OUT WAS TO CUT THE BELT. THIS WOULD BE VERY UNSAFE IN THE CASE OF A CRASH.
Waiting in line at drive through and had my foot on the brake and my car surged forward hitting the car in front of me and they hit the car in front of them. I found no recall on my 2020 Edge titanium but this surge has happened before.
driving down 355 low tire light came on and then a noise and the tire blew
Driving on freeway within a minute of getting onto the freeway my check engine light came on, followed by engine coolant over heating light (first time it has turned on ever) and I lost almost full control on the freeway. I had to pull over to turn the car off. Waited 10 mins turned it back on could drive for a short distance again. I had to do this at least 10 times until I could get to an exit. This was while freeway traffic sped past me and I didn't always have a side to drive on. I was extremely scared and didn't have the ability to do anything about it. My car is a 2020 with only 2700 miles on it. This is not okay. I had my car towed to the dealership we bought it at and they are going to check it tomorrow, however my life was at risk being on the freeway with virtually no gas power to my car. I don't just want my engine replaced for a brand new car I want a new car. This is not ok.
On multiple occasions over the past year of owning the vehicle the liftgate has not functioned properly. In one instance it failed to open with any attempt (remote, dash button, liftgate button) - we could not get it to open and had to leave it at dealership to be repaired. Since then, there have been 3-4 other times when it won't close and latch properly despite there being nothing in the way. It will lower, start to latch, then release itself and reopen. On those occasions, it can take up to 20 attempts to get it to close, latch, and remain closed. I have taken it twice to be looked at, but the dealership can't get it to replicate the malfunction and therefore have been unable to repair it.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the sun roof exploded causing glass shards to fall onto the contact. The contact did not sustain any injuries. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer but has yet to be diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to consumer affairs. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.
2020 Ford Edge. Consumer writes in regard to rear reflector assembly. Consumer stated that the rear reflectors collect condensation. THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT, DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE.
I AM LEASING THE VEHICLE AND HAD IT FOR 6 MONTHS. WHEN PARKED AND LOADING GROCERIES INTO THE REAR, THE LIFTGATE HAS COME DOWN ON MY HEAD AND BACK AT LEAST 5 TIMES ON ITS OWN. THERE IS A SENSOR THAT IS UNDER THE CAR AND ACTIVATES WHEN YOUR FEET ARE UNDER IT. FAULTY DESIGN. YOU CANNOT LOAD THE BACK WITHOUT THIS LIFTGATE COMING DOWN ON YOU. I HAVE BEEN HURT AND SUFFERED HEADACHES AFTER GETTING HIT WITH THE LIFTGATE. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD AND HAVE AN OPEN CASE WITH THEM ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE ON THE INTERNET.
2020 FORD EDGE. CONSUMER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE JERKS AT LOW SPEEDS. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER ADVISED THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO LEARN THE CONSUMER'S WAY OF DRIVING. THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER DRIVING 1400 MILES THE VEHICLE STILL JERKS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE JERKING AGGRAVATES AN OLD UNRELATED NECK INJURY. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. *JS
WHILE IN MOTION WITH NO ROAD TRAFFIC AHEAD OF VEHICLE CRASH DETECTOR ENGAGES, OCCURRED ON HIGHWAY STRAIGHTAWAY. WHILE IN MOTION LANE ASSIST MADE A HARD PULL TO THE RIGHT, DRIVER OVERCORRECTED TO THE LEFT RESULTING IN COLLISION, OCCURRED ON HIGHWAY STRAIGHTAWAY.
I WAS DRIVING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. WHEN WE WOULD MOVE FORWARD IT WOULD ONLY BE FOR 1 CAR LENGTH. I STOPPED, AND WHEN THE ENGINE TURNED BACK ON FROM THE AUTO START/STOP, THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD AND HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I STILL HAD MY FOOT ON THE BREAK. AT FIRST I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND, BECAUSE I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BREAK. I HAVE SEEN 2 OTHER COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO MINE, HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
I HAD JUST ENTERED MY CAR AND WAS GOING ABOUT 45 MPH AND HAD GONE ABOUT 2 MILES WHEN I HEARD A STRANGE NOISE ON THE TOP OF MY VEHICLE I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND GOT OUT TO LOOK AND NOTICED THE WHOLE MOON ROOF OF MY EDGE HAD BROKEN AND WAS FALLING INTO MY HEAD LINER. IT WASN'T LIKE THAT WHEN I LEFT HOME AND IT IS A NEW CAR WITH ONLY 8000 MILES ON IT. FORD REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE NEW MOON ROOF SAYING THEY DON'T COVER GLASS, BUT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR AN OBVIOUS DEFECT. I GOT ONLINE AND NOTICED THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF VEHICLES AND THE MANUFACTURERS DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR REPLACEMENT. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO MAKE THEM PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT?
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WITH GRANDKIDS AND SUNROOF EXPLODED. GLASS WENT ALL OVER MY GRANDKIDS. ONE WAS BLEEDING.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V575000 (VISIBILITY) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED JARRETT FORD OF CHARLOTTE COUNTY (3156 TAMIAMI TRAIL, PORT CHARLOTTE, FL 33952) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
ENGINE CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN HEAVY DALLAS TRAFFIC. REQUIRED COMING TO COMPLETE STOP TO RESTART VEHICLE AFTER CROSSING THREE LANES TO REACH SHOULDER OF INTERSTATE. DANGEROUS. DAYLIGHT, MID DAY, CLEAR WEATHER CONDITIONS, HAD BEEN DRIVING 1.5 HOURS; MILEAGE ONLY 1,600. DEALER SERVICE DEPT RAN COMPUTER DIAGNOSTICS AND NO CODES SHOWED THE PROBLEM. (NUMEROUS ONLINE FORUMS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SINCE BACK IN 2005....VERY DANGEROUS)
RECENTLY, MY 2020 FORD EDGE, WITH 1,800 MILES, DISPLAYED A WARNING THAT THE PRE-COLLISION ASSIST WAS NOT AVAILABLE. AFTER COMPLETING THE POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS INDICATED BY THE OWNER'S MANUAL WITHOUT SUCCESS, I TOOK THE EDGE INTO A FORD DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE TECH'S ATTEMPT TO REPROGRAM THE UNIT REVEALED THE FRONT CENTER CAMERA WAS OFFLINE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE BRACKET THAT HELD THE CAMERA AND RADAR COMPONENTS OF THE 2020 EDGE WERE DAMAGED REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. THE FORD TEAM THEORIZED A STONE HIT A 2 MM PLASTIC GRILL TRIM BREAKING IT, THEN THE SAME STONE RICOCHETED AND DAMAGED THE PLASTIC BRACKET HOLDING THE CAMERA AND RADAR COMPONENTS OF THE PRE-COLLISION ASSIST RENDERING IT USELESS. NO SIGN OF ANY IMPACT. TO REPLACE THE BRACKET HOLDING THE PRE-COLLISION HARDWARE COSTS $80. HOWEVER, LABOR WAS $600. NO CHOICE BUT TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY DETERMINED, USING AN UNKNOWN METRIC, THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT COVERED BY THE THREE-YEAR BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY. THE FINAL COST TO ME OF THE REPAIRS: $671. DURING THE REPAIR, I LEARNED THAT THE EDGE MODEL YEARS PRIOR TO 2020 HAD A METAL BRACKET TO PROTECT THE PRE-COLLISION CAMERA AND RADAR COMPONENTS. HOWEVER, FOR THE 2020 EDGE MODEL YEAR AND BEYOND, FORD REPLACED THE METAL BRACKET WITH A PLASTIC BRACKET. IN SHORT, THE BRACKET WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DAMAGED IF HIT BY A STONE IF THE METAL BRACKET HAD NOT BEEN REPLACED BY FORD WITH A PLASTIC BRACKET. I BELIEVE THAT THIS PLASTIC BRACKET IS NOT ONLY A THREAT TO ME AND MY PASSENGERS SAFETY, THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE PRE-COLLISION ASSIST, BUT ALSO AN OUTRAGEOUS EXPENSE FOR FORD CUSTOMERS WHO MAY NOT AFFORD TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THUS, EXPOSING CUSTOMERS TO UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE METAL BRACKET SHOULD REPLACE THE PLASTIC BRACKET. INCLUDED IS A PICTURE OF THE FRONT GRILL AREA CRACKED BY A STONE.
TRANSMISSION GEAR DISENGAGE ON REVERSE AND SOME DISENGAGEMENT WHILE DRIVING. MY VEHICLE IS BEEN MORE THAN A MONTH ON SERVICE AND FORD SENT SOME PARTS TO BE REPLACE BUT THE PROBLEM STILL. WHY THEY DON'T SEND A NEW TRANSMISSION AND PROBLEM SOLVED?
AUTO TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD NO MATTER IF THE STOP ENGINE BUTTON IF OFF OR ON. NOT SMOOTH AT LOWER SPEEDS.
THE BACK HATCH DOOR WAS OPEN TO PUT SHOPPING ITEMS AWAY, AND MY DAUGHTER TURNED AROUND TO PUT A CART AWAY IN A PARKING LOT. ALL OF A SUDDEN ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS COMING AND SHE BACKED UP WITH A CART IN FRONT OF HER, AND THE HATCH DOOR HIT HER BETWEEN THE SHOULDERS. IT HIT HER, IT STOPPED AND THEN MOVED UPWARDS. SOMETHING LIKE THIS ALSO HAPPENED TO ME WITH ANOTHER FORD THAT I TRADED IN LAST YEAR FOR THIS 2020 FORD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR A CAMERA REPAIR PRIOR TO THIS, SO DO NOT KNOW IF A SENSOR IS OUT OR NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY; AND THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE MAKES A CREAKING NOISE SINCE THEY REPLACED THE REAR VIEW CAMERA. DO NOT KNOW IF THIS HAS ANYTHING DO DO WITH THE HATCH BACK OPEN AND CLOSE FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK IN A SPOT IN A SHOPPING CENTER ON A TWO WAY PARKING LOT.
I NOTICED A KNOCKING IN THE LEFT FRONT END. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO STEER, VERY LOUD RUMBLING NOISE LIKE GEARS CLASHING. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY GOING 25 MPH WHEN IT HAPPENED AND A MILE AWAY FROM HOME. WHEN I ALMOST STOPPED COULDN'T STEER AT ALL. PURCHASED OCTOBER 27, 2020, IT IS CURRENTLY JANUARY 13, 2021 AND HAS 601 MILES ON IT. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR 3 DAYS. FORD DEALERSHIP VERIFIED THAT IS WAS A FACTORY WELD FAILURE. THE PIECE THAT BROKE OFF MADE A NOTCH IN THE TIRE WHICH WILL BE SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH A MAJOR WELD FAILURE HAPPENING AT ONLY 601 MILES AND NOW I WORRY ABOUT THE OTHER WELDS ON THE FRAME.
I THINK THAT THE HORN ON THE 2019 & 2020 FORD AUTOMOBILES ARE VERY UNSAFE. FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF SOMETHING WERE TO HAPPEN IF SOMEBODY COULD NOT HERE THE HORN. VERY LOW TONE
BACKUP CAMERA NOW DISTORTED.
PERILLI SCORPION TIRE WITH ONLY 7,000 MILES ON IT EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY GOING 80 MILES AN HOUR. NOTHING WAS IN THE ROAD, DID NOT HIT OR RUN OVER ANYTHING. NO OTHER DAMAGE TO CAR INCLUDING RIM.
REAR VIEW CAMERA FAILED ON MANY OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE IN SHOPPING STORE PARKING LOTS AND WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE OUT OF DRIVEWAYS INTO PUBLIC STREETS. ON A FEW OCCASIONS REAR VIEW CAMERA FAILED TO DISPLAY MOTOR VEHICLES AND PEDESTRIANS. REPORTED ISSUE TO FORD DEALER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WHO STATED THERE WEREN'T RECALLS ON VEHICLE. HOWEVER, RECALL NOTICE WAS FOUND AS FOLLOWS: VEHICLE.HTTPS://WWW.NHTSA.GOV/VEHICLE/2020/FORD/EDGE/SUV/FWD#RECALLS400
LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. COULDN'T MAINTAIN 40MPH. HAD TO PULL INTO PARKING LOT AND START WALKING BEFORE LOSS OF POWER WAS DRIVING 40 MPH ON CITY STREET IN 60 DEGREE WEATHER
LOW SPEED START JERKY LIKE TRANS CAN NOT FIND RIGHT GEAR ONLY ON LOW ACCERATION UNDER 25 MPH
ON JULY 4,2020 AT APPROX 10:15AM I WAS DRIVING ON PA 663 HIGHWAY. OUT OF NO WHERE, I HEAR THIS LOUD BOOM. CAR IN FRONT OF ME KEPT GOING, CAR IN BACK OF ME GETTING CLOSER AS I SLOW DOWN AND PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF HIGHWAY. CAR BEHIND ME KEPT GOING. I GET OUT OF CAR AND FIND MY PANORAMIC SUNROOF SHATTERED. I HAD THE COVER CLOSED SO GLASS WAS CAUGHT INSIDE COVER. I LOOK INSIDE COVER AND FIND NOTHING BUT SHATTERED GLASS. I CALL FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. WHILE I WAIT FOR DRIVER, I TAKE PICTURES. DRIVER ARRIVES AND TOWS CAR TO NEAREST FORD DEALER WHICH IS 100 MILES FROM MY HOME. ON MONDAY, 7/6/20, I CALL DEALER SINCE I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR 26 DAYS. BRAND NEW, LEASED WITH 907 MILES. DEALER TELLS ME IT'S NOT UNDER THEIR WARRANTY. I'M TOLD SOMETHING MUST HAVE HIT THE ROOF BUT NO SIGN OR EVIDENCE OF ANYTHING. I CALL FORD CORPORATE AND THEY TELL ME THE SAME THING. SINCE I NEED A CAR, I FILE CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE TO HAVE IT FIXED HAVING TO PAY A DEDUCTIBLE AND THE COST OF A RENTAL.
THERE IS AN EXHAUST ODOR IN THE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY AFTER A HARD ACCELERATION AS IN PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE. I TOOK VEHICLE TO MY FORD DEALER WHO SAID THERE WERE KNOWN PROBLEMS REPORTED ON MY MODEL VEHICLE. I SINCE FOUND A FORD TSB 18-2057 THAT COVERS THE ISSUE, BUT FOR YEARS 2015-2018. IT APPEARS THE PROBLEM EXISTS ON THE 2020 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES, TOO. *TR
