Summary

The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving in inclement weather at an undisclosed speed, the front windshield wipers became inoperable causing a visibility hazard while driving. The contact veered to the side of road and cleared the snow from the windshield and waited approximately 45 minutes before the windshield wiper regained normal function. While driving back to the residence the failure recurred. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle but could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Summary

The roads were icy and my son pulled over to wait out the storm. Our car was parked. Another car slid on the ice and stuck our Hyundai Palisade in the rear. It was a minor impact, no airbags deployed and nobody was injured. The steering column sheered off and the steering wheel was cut loose from the column. Hyundai has an open recall campaign on a similar model (NHTSA campaign #18V118000) for this exact problem of steering wheels sheering from the column. Hyundai sent an investigator to check the car and reports to me that there is no defect with my car. The insurance company is planning to repair the car, including the steering assembly, and return it to me. It is hard to believe that this incident, which occurred on a car built just a few months after the models that were recalled, could be a coincidence. There was no prior warning. The car is now at body repair shop and is available for inspection.

Summary

Front wipers stop unexpectedly operating when in moderate snow conditions. Wipers will not operate again for 3-4 minutes, leaving driver stranded on roadway. The dealer, after consultation with Hyundai tech support, says it appears the motor overheats but replacing it with a new motor will not solve the problem. The have not replaced it to verify that position. As the owner, this is a scary and dangerous situation when it occurs and appears that the motor overheats prematurely and then requires time to cool off. Problem has occurred 4 times. The fact that neither the dealer nor the manufacturer have responded with a solution

at 30K miles, the car started to make loud noises when driving over speed bumps, the smallest of road variations. Dealer detected the issue until Hyundai executives were contacted. Then, the dealer changed their story and confirmed the shocks on the car need to be redesigned in reinstalled and it's becoimg a national/ international problem. They are talking about the rear shocks only and not including the front . The issue with the shocks are wide spread and being discussed on the multiple forums. Very concerned about potential and major damage to the tires/car that can cause major accidents. .

Summary

Windshield cracks easily. It is a known issue and Hyundai has yet to recall it. Will have had to replace my windshield twice in two years for incidents that should have resulted in no crack or a small crack. Kia has addressed the issue on the Palisade's sister vehicle, the Telluride but Hyundai has not even offered to replace them for free or reimburse owner costs when they have made a faulty part. It's hazardous and costly and should have been recalled immediately for the safety of their drivers.

Summary

2020 Hyundai Palisade purchased in May, 2020, amid COVID shutdown, and not driven as much as normal until September, 2020. In February, 2021 was driving along a 4-lane parkway (speed limit 55) and something struck the windshield. All other vehicles were at least 2 car lengths away and the sound of the strike sounded like an insect hitting the windshield. What resulted was a nickel sized, spidery crack on the passenger side, about a third of the way from the top. When Safelite attempted to repair this, it immediately spread out as they applied pressure while installing their equipment. Windshield had to be replaced (Hyundai glass used). August, 2021 car was being driven on 6-lane interstate (65mph) when a large rock struck the lower part of the passenger side of windshield. Large crack resulted which immediately spread across windshield, necessitating another windshield replacement (3rd party glass used). A week later, on 4-lane highway, while 2+ car lengths behind a semi, it sounded as if the car was being sprayed by sand followed by a loud pop. What resulted was a small crack at the edge of the passenger side which quickly spread horizontally until making an upward turn which slowed its progress. After waiting 6 weeks for a replacement (Hyundai glass) to come in, windshield was replaced for 3rd time on 11/2/21. Less than 24 hours later, while driving in traffic on 10-lane section of interstate (60mph), a loud pop occurred resulting in a nickel-sized, spidery chip in about the same location as the first instance. If history holds true, this will probably necessitate another windshield replacement. Having driven all of these same roads for 25+ years, prior to this vehicle, I have only had 2 other windshield chips, both which were repairable. 4 windshield replacements within 9 months is indicative of a design flaw.

The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving 20 MPH, an explosion was heard. Later, the sounds of marbles rolling around the vehicle were heard. When the contact opened the sunroof, she noticed the sunroof glass had detached. There was no impact on the sunroof that could have caused it to shatter. The contact did not sustain any injuries. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the next available appointment would be in November. The contact contacted an independent mechanic and was able to schedule an upcoming appointment. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact they would call back. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Car was purchased new in May of 2020 and all systems worked as expected. After approx 3 months and 2000 miles the rear backup camera began to pixilate and then failed resulting in a blue screen. Went to a different dealer and they advised replacement of the camera. Returned vehicle to another dealer and they replaced the camera and it worked for about a month then pixilated and failed again. Took the car to a different dealer who checked the connections and cable and advised that the camera needed replacement again. This will be 4 Hyundai dealers that have looked at the car and camera now has a blue screen.

Windshield crack appeared near the roof line just to the drivers side of the rear view mirror and traveled immediately ~18 inches diagonally towards the passenger wiper blade. There appears to be a very tiny nick where the crack started, but if something hit the windshield it was so small we never heard it and the crack traveled instantly across the windshield. The car was hand washed the day prior and no cracks/chips were evident.

I walked out to my vehicle in the driveway this morning and the windshield was cracked for no apparent reason. There were no visible chips near the crack. Crack extended from lower Driver's side corner upwards and across to almost the center-line. I also had to previously repair two chips in the windshield that did not appear to be from debris damage. It would appear that the windshield is defective as installed at the factory.

Summary

On interstate highway in South Dakota in September 2020, a small pebble came off the road surface creating a small chip on front windshield. Within one hour the windshield had a crack horizontally covering the entire windshield. This caused a complete one day delay on our vacation trip as the windshield had to be replaced at a local Safelite location. Certainly the delay was an inconvenience but more important we are concerned about our safety. This occurred when vehicle was less than 2 months old. Now it is July, 2021 and on another interstate a small pebble came off the road and caused a small chip in the lower left windshield. Next day the small crack started to run requiring a compete windshield repair AGAIN. If a small pebble can do this immediate damage, I fear the entire windshield could shatter causing a major accident or at worst a fatality. Safelite and Travelers Insurance have all documentation regarding the two incidents.

Summary

About 1 1/2 hours into a 7 hr trip driving on vacation the car started running rough. Upon slowing the engine shut off several times. The car started knocking and the check engine light came on about 30 min from our destination. We took it to the closest Hyundai dealer who informed us the engine needed to be replaced because it had no oil in it. We NEVER had a low oil light or check oil light come on. I had checked the oil life before we left on our trip and knew I had a cushion of several hundred miles before it was due for an oil change. This could have caused all of us in the car since the car shut off and all power was gone.

Crash: No
Fire: No
Vehicle Identification Number: KM8R4DHE1LU******
Summary

My tire was losing air so we took it to a local tire shop to be repaired thinking it had a nail in it or something. Turns out it was losing air because the wheel was cracked and slightly bent. The only 2 people who drive this car are my husband and I and neither of us could recall hitting or running over anything. The Hyundai dealer refused to submit a warranty claim (car had 16,200 miles on it), so we called Hyundai corporate and they submitted a warranty claim that would be assigned to a case manager and they would get back to us. That was 5/24 and by 6/15 we still hadn't heard anything back from them in spite of calling 3 more times to check the status of the case. I believe either this particular wheel was defective or the engineering design of the wheel is wrong. We still have the wheel for inspection. No warning lights other than the low tire pressure warning came on. The dealer inspected the wheel twice and Les Schwab (tire place) inspected it twice and installed a used ("take-off") wheel for us yesterday. The tire had no damage and there was no damage of any kind anywhere on my car, so I find it hard to believe that we could have hit something so hard to crack the wheel but had no other damage and couldn't remember any such event. The crack is over 1 inch long and absolutely could have caused a blowout or accident, so we weren't able to use the car much for a month except right around our home.

Summary

It is extremely difficult to buckle the seatbelt around our childrens' booster seats. We have a six and nine-year-old who are fully capable of buckling their own seats. However, they are unable to buckle in this vehicle due to the limited slack on the buckle and the narrow captains' chairs in the second row. I am barely able to buckle them and often concerned that the clip did not secure properly due to the challenging nature of the process. This is a safety concern because if we were to wreck and it was not secured, my children's lives would be at risk.

Summary

The windshield was hit with a pebble at a low speed of around 35mph. There were no other cars within about 3 car lanes, so this was not a high-impact situation. However, the pebble cracked still cracked the windshield. The dealers confirmed that this model vehicle has a high incidence of cracked windshields that could potentially lead to injury or harm. I am worried that a truly high-impact rock would be life-threatening to the passengers.

JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE YESTERDAY. TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE TWO DAYS EARLIER AND NOTICED VERY STRONG INTERIOR ODOR, SUCH A CARPET CLEANER OR DISINFECTANT, WHICH WE ASSUMED WAS FROM DEALERSHIP TRYING TO CLEAN, BUT OTHER CARS WE TEST DROVE DID NOT HAVE THIS SMELL. BOTH MY US AND AND I CAME HOME THAT AFTERNOON WITH A STRONG HEADACHE THAT LASTED ALL NIGHT. WE ASSUMED IT WAS FROM STRESS AND CAR SHOPPING'S. WE STILL DECIDED TO PURCHASE THE CAR, ASSUMING IT WAS STILL JUST A DISINFECTANT AND WOULD GO AWAY. BROUGHT HOME, OPENED ALL DOORS AND WINDOWS AND BACK HATCH TO AIR OUT. SPRAYED WITH NATURAL AIR FRESHENER ALL OVER CARPETS AND FLOORS. AFTER ONE NIGHT OF SITTING CLOSED INSIDE THE GARAGE, OPENED UP THE DOORS TO FIND THE SMELL IS GETTING STRONGER AND MORE INTENSE. OPENED THE WINDOWS TO LET AIR OUT AND SPRAYED CARPETS AGAIN. TODAY, AN ARTICLE WAS RELEASED THAT THOUSANDS OF OTHER HYUNDAI PALISADE OWNERS ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE, AND IS TIED TO THE HIGHER END MODELS AND NAPPA LEATHER SEAT, WHICH WE HAVE. WE NOW HAVE LEARNED THAT HYUNDAI HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND ARE NOT RESPONDING. WE ARE SAD TO FIND OUT THAT OUR 1 DAY OLD CAR (TO US) HAS SUCH A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM THAT WE WERE NOT AWARE OF AND CANNOT STAND. WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE MATERIALS AND PRODUCTS USED TO BUILD THIS HIGH END VEHICLE AND IT'S AFFECTS ON OUR HEALTH. I AM VERY SENSITIVE TO SMELL AMD HAVE COMPLAINED OF THIS AWFUL SCENT SINCE WE FIRST SAT IN THE CAR. NOW THAT WE KNOW THIS MAY NOT BE SOMETHING THAT WILL JUST AIR OUT AND MAY BE AN INHERENT PROBLEM DIRECTLY FROM HYUNDAI, WE WANT ACTION. THIS MAY BE THE REAL REASON WHY THE PREVIOUS OWNER TURNED IT IN. IT IS AWFUL AND I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE SITTING MYSELF OR MY FAMILY IN OUR NEWLY PURCHASED VEHICLE. ITS BEEN A TERRIBLE BATTLE WITH THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE ASKING ME TO FILE A COMPREHENSIVE CLAIM WITH INSURANCE COMPANY HOWEVER I DONT FEEL I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE SIMPLY BECAUSE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO SO MANY PEOPLE, EVEN PEOPLE WHO OWN THE NEW 2020 PALISADE. I HAVE A 2020 PALISADE AND I LIVE IN MAINE. TODAY WAS THE THIRD SEPARATE EPISODE THAT MY WIPERS COMPLETELY DISABLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I SPENT QUITE A WHILE PRIOR TO DRIVING CLEANING OUT THE AREA NEAR THE WIPERS, AND HAD TO STOP THREE TIMES ON MY HOUR LONG COMMUTE TO WORK TO CLEAR MORE ICE/SNOW FROM THE AREA WHERE THE WIPERS REST. THE FIRST TWO TIMES I WAS UNSUCCESSFUL AND IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE. THE WIPERS WERE WORKING WHEN I LEFT MY HOUSE AND BECAME DISABLED AS I WAS DRIVING. THE WEATHER WAS A MIX OF SLEET, RAIN AND SNOW BUT WITH MINIMAL BUILDUP THAT WOULD'VE CAUSED THE WIPERS TO BE DISABLED. I HAD NO WARNING OR VISIBILITY AND AN ACCIDENT COULD HAVE EASILY OCCURRED. I HAVE A VIDEO OF THE ISSUE.

WHILE DRIVING A SMALL PEBBLE STRUCK MY WINDSHIELD AND IMMEDIATELY CRACKED IT. THIS WAS NOT A ROCK, BOULDER OR ANYTHING OF SIZE, IT WAS A PEBBLE. I HAVE SEEN THAT OTHER 2020 PALISADE OWNERS HAVE ALSO HAD THEIR WINDSHIELD CRACK UNDER THESE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES. ITS UNREAL THAT HYUNDAI IS ALLOWED TO SELL CARS WITH INSUFFICIENT WINDSHIELDS WITH THIN GLASS. THIS CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN YOUR UNABLE TO SEE OUT OF YOUR CRACKED WINDSHIELD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.

MY VEHICLE HAS WHAT APPEARS TO BE A MAJOR ALIGNMENT ISSUE. WHEN DRIVING ON ALMOST ANY STRAIGHT STRETCH OF ROAD THE VEHICLE PULLS/VEERS TO THE RIGHT. DEALER SAYS THIS IS AS DESIGNED FROM HYUNDAI AND THAT THEY HAVE CHECKED "EVERYTHING". I AM BAFFLED THAT ANY CAR CAN BE "DESIGNED" TO NOT DRIVE STRAIGHT. THEY CLAIM ALL HYUNDAI VEHICLES ARE "DESIGNED" TO PULL TO THE RIGHT. ONE THE TEST DRIVE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER, DRIVING 50 - 60 MPH, MY VEHICLE DRIFTED 1 AND A HALF LANES TO THE RIGHT ON ITS OWN. UNDER ACCELERATION IT VEERED 3 LANES TO THE RIGHT. THIS WAS IN A MATTER OF 6 OR 7 SECONDS. THIS HAPPENS ON ALMOST ALL ROADS AND INTERSTATES, NOT JUST SOME. DURING THIS EVENT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT TURN ON, THEY WERE ON AUTOMATIC, I SWITCHED TO MANUAL THEY STILL WOULD NOT WORK. SHORTLY AFTER IT STOPPED RACING THEY BEGAN TO WORK AGAIN. THE SECOND TIME THE EMERGENCY AUTOMATED BRAKING ENGAGED I WAS ON I-70 NEAR SPFLD. OHIO. TRAFFIC WAS MOVING FAST 65-70 MPH, I WAS IN LEFT LANE, HAD A NEARER WALL TO MY LEFT, SEMI TO RIGHT, PASSENGER CAR TO THE FRONT AND SEMI TO MY REAR, THE WEATHER WAS SUNNY OVERALL BEAUTIFUL DAY. WHEN IT ENGAGED ONCE AGAIN ABRUPTLY BRAKED (SAME ALARMS ENGAGED). THIS TIME WITH THE SEMI TO MY REAR IT SCARED ME SO BAD I FELT AS IF I WAS GOING TO GET RAN OVER BY THE SEMI. IN BOTH CASES THE BREAKING WAS ABRUPT AND QUITE AGGRESSIVE, BOTH EVENTS LASTED VERY BRIEFLY 1-3 SECONDS ON THE HIGHWAY INCIDENT I DID FEEL THE BACK IN WIGGLE IT DID NOT BREAK LOSE YOU COULD JUST FILL IT KIND OF HARD SWAY LEFT TO RIGHT OR RIGHT TO LEFT CANNOT REMEMBER THAT EXACTLY. DRIVING HYUNDAI PALISADE ON A FEEDER ROAD OF THE HIGHWAY, AROUND 20 MPH, A SMALL PEBBLE HIT THE WINDSHIELD. INSTEAD OF HAVING A SMALL KNICK, A CRACK FORMED AND IT IMMEDIATELY RAN 1/2 THE WINDSHIELD. THE VERY NEXT DAY, ANOTHER PEBBLE HIT WHILE DRIVING ON THE FEEDER ROAD AND A SECOND CRACK FORMED AND DID THE EXACT SAME THING. THE TINY PING OF A PEBBLE CAUSED 2 LARGE CRACKS THAT ARE NOW AFFECTING VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. AFTER RESEARCHING, WE SEE THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST HYUNDAI FOR THEIR FAULTY AND WEAK WINDSHIELDS AND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THE INABILITY FOR THE WINDSHIELD TO TAKE ANY TINY IMPACT. WE ALSO KNOW KIA, THEIR SISTER COMPANY IS REPLACING WINDSHIELDS ON THE TELLURIDE FOR THE BAD WINDSHIELDS. HYUNDAI HAS YET TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE WINDSHIELD IS NOT REACTING APPROPRIATELY TO SMALL PEBBLES. WE ARE EXTREMLEY CONCERNED HOW THE WINDSHIELD WILL HOLD UP TO NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS.

SMALL CHIP APPEARED ON SECOND DAY OF PURCHASE FOLLOWING A PEBBLE HITTING THE WINDSHIELD. THE CHIP WAS FIXED BY SAFELITE. AFTER A MONTH, HALF OF THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY (STATIONARY). THE CRACK SEEMED TO HAVE ORIGINATED FROM THE SAME SPOT OF THE PREVIOUS CHIP. THE CAR HAS 2300 MILES ON IT AND NEEDS A NEW WINDSHIELD NOW.

Summary

WINDSHIELD CRACKED AT JUST 400 MILES WHILE IRONICALLY THE CAR WAS AT A DETAIL SHOP AND THEY WERE INSTALLING EXOSHIELD THAT IS SUPPOSED TO PREVENT ROCK CHIPS AND CRACKS. THE WINDSHIELD SHATTERED IN THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER WAY DOWN BY THE HOOD AREA WHILE THE INSTALLER WAS RE-ATTACHING THE TRIM AROUND THE GLASS AND POPPING THE CLIPS BACK IN. THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR GLASS TO CRACK LIKE THIS FROM NORMAL ACTIVITY ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WASN'T EVEN HIT. THE GLASS SHOULDN'T BREAK FROM TOUCHING IT, CLEANING IT, ETC. ALSO, ON DAY 1 RIGHT AFTER BUYING THE CAR WHILE I WAS DRIVING BACK FROM THE DEALER SOMETHING HIT IT AND CAUSED A SMALL ROCK CHIP WHICH I REPAIRED MYSELF. NEVER HAD THIS OCCUR ON DAY 1. THAT IS WHY I WAS WILLING TO PAY FOR PROTECTION FIELD TO AVOID THIS. UNACCEPTABLE.

I PURCHASED A NEW 2020 HYUNDAI PALISADE ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. I WAS DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE HIGHWAY. A SMALL PEBBLE HIT THE WINDSHIELD AND IT CRACKED THE GLASS ON THE LOWER RIGHT SIDE. I WENT ONLINE AND DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS MODEL, AND THAT A CLASS ACTION SUIT WAS FILED. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT WARN ME ABOUT THIS ISSUE OR THE LAWSUIT WHEN I ASKED ABOUT GLASS SAFETY. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CRACKED WINDSHIELD ON ANY OTHER CAR I OWNED IN 25 YEARS OF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.

DURING A HEAVY RAIN STORM WENT THROUGH A LOW LYING AREA AT LOW SPEED (25 MPH) WHERE SEVERAL INCHES OF WATER HAD PONDED. THE FCA SYSTEM SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES TEMPORARILY EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO KNOWN OBSTACLE. MY GUESS IS THAT THE FCA SENSED THE WATER AS AN OBSTACLE CAUSING THE BRAKES TO BE INCORRECTLY APPLIED. HAD SOMEONE BEEN BEHIND ME, IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE FCA SENSORS ARE ON THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE FRONT SO IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE SENSORS WERE MOMENTARILY SUBMERGED.

Summary

ABOUT A MONTH AFTER BUYING THE VEHICLE, WITH LESS THAN 900 MILES, A LARGE CRACK DEVELOPED BEHIND THE MIRROR OF THE WINDSHIELD THAT WAS NOTICED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. WE HAD NOT BEEN HIT BY ANYTHING NOTICEABLE OR AUDIBLE, AND BY THE TIME WE WERE ABLE TO SEE THE CRACK THE WINDSHIELD WAS RUINED. WE NOTICED A VERY SMALL BLEMISH IN THE DARK AREA NEAR THE MIRROR THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE CRACK. OUR LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT WILLING TO ADDRESS THE WINDSHIELD ISSUE SO WE TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP, WHILE ON VACATION, BY REQUEST OF HYUNDAI OF NORTH AMERICA. THE SECOND DEALERSHIP SAW THE BLEMISH AND SAID IT COULD NOT BE REPLACED BY WARRANTY. I ESCALATED THE CASE THROUGH HYUNDAI OF NORTH AMERICA AND THEY COULD DO NOTHING ELSE SINCE THE DEALER SAID IT CANNOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. SO, IF THIS WINDSHIELD CAN BE RUINED FROM AN INSIGNIFICANT BLEMISH, THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE WINDSHIELD.

THE WINDSHIELD ON THIS VEHICLE IS DEFECTIVE IN THAT ANY MINUSCULE IMPACT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO COMPLETELY CRACK IT. I HAVE NOW HAD TWO WINDSHIELDS REPLACED WITHIN THE LAST 5 MONTHS FOR PRESUMED IMPACTS THAT WERE NOT EVEN PERCEPTIBLE FROM WITHIN THE VEHICLE. I'M NOT EVEN CERTAIN IF THE CRACKS WERE IMPACT RELATED AT ALL. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW AND HAVE YET TO OWN IT FOR A YEAR. THE WINDSHIELD ON THESE VEHICLES SEEMS TO LITERALLY BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO HIGH SPEED GRAINS OF SAND. MY FIRST CRACK COMPLETELY BLOCKED MY FIELD OF VISION AND MADE THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE OTHER VEHICLES THAT ARE OVER 10 YEARS OLD FOR WHICH I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES WITH THE WINDSHIELD, AND ARE STILL DRIVEN ON THE SAME ROADS AS THIS 2020 PALISADE NAVIGATES. Summary

DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND A SMALL PEBBLE HIT THE WINDSHIELD. WENT HOME CALLED HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP INQUIRED ABOUT MY BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD THAT WINDSHIELDS WERE NOT COVERED. THE NEXT DAY THAT SMALL CRACK DOT GREW TO LINE CRACKS ABOUT 12-14' LONG. I CALLED HYUNDAI AND TOLD THEM THAT THEIR WINDSHIELDS WE'RE FAULTY AND NOT DURABLE BECAUSE THEY GREW INTO LONG CRACKS!!! I TOLD THEM THAT I DIDN'T KNOW HOW THAT COULD OF HAPPENED SINCE WE HAVEN'T DRIVEN BECAUSE OF THIS QUARANTINE ISSUE, THE ONLY LOGICAL EXPLANATION WAS THE PRESSURE INSIDE THE CAR MIGHT OF CAUSED IT??? THEY SUGGESTED I FLIP THE BILL OR FILE A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE AND PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE.

Summary

WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65 MPH, A SMALL PEBBLE STRUCK MY WINDSHIELD AND CREATED A 2 INCH "SPIDER" CRACK. THE SOUND OF THE IMPACT WAS MINIMAL AND HAD THE OBJECT THAT STRUCK MY WINDSHIELD BEEN LARGER, I BELIEVE THE OBJECT WOULD HAVE PENETRATED MY WINDOW AND POTENTIALLY CAUSED INJURY TO MY FRONT SEAT OCCUPANT. AFTER DISCUSSION WITH MANY PALISADE OWNERS ON A FACEBOOK OWNERS FORUM, OTHER OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING SIMILAR ISSUES WITH CRACKED WINDSHIELDS FROM NOMINAL PEBBLE STRIKES. I HAVE EXPERIENCED PEBBLE STRIKES ON MY OTHER VEHICLES THAT SOUNDED LIKE A CANON BALL HIT MY WINDSHIELD WITH ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE AND THE PEBBLE THAT STRUCK MY PALISADE BARELY MADE A SOUND AS IT IMPACTED MY WINDSHIELD. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN WITH MY 2020 HYUNDAI PALISADE.

A SMALL ROCK IMPACT AT THE BASE OF THE WINDSHIELD IMMEDIATELY SPREAD AND BECAME A LARGE SEMI-CIRCLE SHAPED CRACK. THERE WAS NO OPPORTUNITY TO REPAIR BEFORE SPREAD. ATTEMPTS BY MY DEALER AND ME TO APPEAL TO HYUNDAI TO COVER THE REPAIR FOR THIS BASED ON NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF RAPID CRACKS FOR THIS VEHICLE AND THE KIA TELLURIDE WERE DENIED. KIA HAS PROACTIVELY CONTACTED THEIR CUSTOMERS TO INFORM THEM THAT THEY ARE LOOKING INTO THE ISSUE AND KIA IS COVERING THE COSTS FOR REPAIR/REPLACEMENT. SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY WRONG WITH THE WINDSHIELD GLASS BEING USED FOR THESE COUSIN VEHICLES.

Summary

I PURCHASED A NEW 2020 HYUNDAI PALISADE SEL FROM QUIRK HYUNDAI IN BANGOR MAINE ON 3/06/2020, UPON GETTING IT HOME AND USING IT WITH MY CHILDREN, WE DISCOVERED THAT THE WALK THROUGH SHOULDER BUTTON, IF PRESSED, WILL STILL CAUSE THE SEAT TO FOLD AND SLIDE FORWARD EVEN WITH A PASSENGER, AND IF THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION THIS FUNCTION IS STILL ENABLED. I HAD MY 8 YEAR OLD TRIPLETS IN THE VEHICLE ON 3/07/2020, AND WE WERE DRIVING IN TOWN TO THE LOCAL RESTAURANT. CHILDREN, BEING INQUISITIVE, WERE INSPECTING EVERY FEATURE OF THE VEHICLE WITHIN THEIR REACH. ONE PRESSED THE BUTTON AND WE HEARD THE ELECTRONIC RELEASE, UNSURE OF WHAT THE SOUND WAS AT THE TIME, I DID AN INSPECTION LATER AND REALIZED IT WAS THE WALK THROUGH LATCH. I THEN RAN A FEW CIRCUMSTANTIAL EXPERIMENTS WITH MY ADULT SON TO TEST MY CONCERN THAT THIS FEATURE MIGHT CAUSE HARM IF ACTIVATED AT THE WRONG TIME. MY CONCERNS WERE CONFIRMED WITH THIS TEST. MY ADULT SON IN THE SEAT, PRESSED THE BUTTON WHILE I WAS DRIVING 5 MILES PER HOUR, AND THEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES. IN ONCE INSTANCE, HIS SEAT WENT FULL FORWARD AND HE WAS FORCEFULLY PROJECTED INTO THE SEAT IN FRONT OF HIM . I WAS ABLE TO DOCUMENT THIS AND HAVE FORWARDED THE VIDEO TO HYUNDAI USA, IT IS AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING ON YOUTUBE ONLY THROUGH THE LINK AT HTTPS://YOUTU.BE/A4-MSQZB-74.

Summary

TWO ISSUES: 1. WARNING INDICATOR COMES ON ALONG WITH A WARNING THAT READS "CHECK BLIND-SPOT COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM." THESE WARNING COME ON AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES, AND COME ON EVEN WHEN NO OTHER VEHICLES ARE AROUND OR IN BLIND-SPOT. SEEMS TO BE A FAULTY SENSOR. AT TIME OF WRITING THIS, VEHICLE ONLY HAS ABOUT 500 (FIVE HUNDRED) MILES. 2. LOUD WHISTLE/WIND NOISE FROM COMING IN FROM DRIVER SIDE DOOR. OCCURS WHEN TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 50+ MPH. SEEMS LIKE THE DOOR IS NOT SEALED PROPERLY, EVEN THOUGH IT IS SHUT ALL THE WAY. LOUD NOISE COULD CAUSE DRIVER TO BE UNABLE TO HEAR EMERGENCY SIRENS, WHICH COULD BE FATAL OR CAUSE TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS. WITH BOTH ISSUES THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAY. THE WARNING INDICATOR WITH THE BLIND SPOT WARNING WILL EVEN STAY ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PULLED INTO A LOT, COMES TO A STOP, PLACED IN PARK, AND WITH NO ONE AROUND.

'CHECK BLIND SPOT COLLISON WARNING SYSTEM' ERROR MESSAGE APPEARS EVERY TRIP AFTER 10-15 MINUTES. MY PALISADE ALSO STEERS TOWARD THE CENTER LANE AND DOES NOT STAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LANE AS INTENDED. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE BEING SO CLOSE TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, AND IT CAUSES ARM FATIGUE TO KEEP STEERING AWAY FROM THE CENTER. FINALLY, THERE IS A GREAT DEAL OF WIND NOISE COMING THROUGH THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW/DOOR AS I DRIVE AT MEDIUM TO HIGH SPEEDS.

Summary

WE PURCHASED OUR 2020 HYUNDAI PALISADE LIMITED SIX WEEKS AGO. CURRENTLY HAS 3000 MILES. THE BLIND SPOT COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM (BSCW) HAS A MALFUNCTION AND STOPS WORKING AFTER DRIVING A FEW MILES ON BOTH HIGHWAY AND CITY/COUNTRY ROADS. THERE ARE NO CARS OR TREES/OBSTACLES AROUND THE CAR WHEN IT DEACTIVATES. RESTARTING THE CAR RESETS THE BSCW SYSTEM, BUT IT MALFUNCTIONS AGAIN IN A FEW MILES. WHEN THE SYSTEM IS DEACTIVATED, WE CANNOT TURN OFF BLIND SPOT ACTIVE ASSIST--IT GIVES A CONTROLLER ERROR. WE TRIED SHUTTING OFF THE BSCW SYSTEM INDICATOR IN THE HEADS-UP DISPLAY. THAT DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM

Summary

THERE ARE TWO COMPLAINTS... 1. WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, A CRACK DEVELOPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD, JUST BELOW THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR MOUNT. PER THE DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDATION WE WENT TO SAFELITE FOR AN OPINION ABOUT THE CAUSE, SINCE WE HAD NO MEMORY OF ANYTHING HITTING THE WINDSHIELD, AND THE SAFELITE MANAGER PROVIDED A WRITTEN OPINION (VIA EMAIL) THAT THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF IMPACT, AND IT WAS HIS OPINION THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT IN THE GLASS. HYUNDAI CORPORATE STATED THAT SINCE WE COULD NOT PROVE A DEFECT EXISTED, IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY WARRANTY. 2. SIMILAR TO SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS, THERE IS A LOUD VIBRATION THAT EMINATES FROM THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW/DOOR WHENEVER THE VEHICLE REACHES 50MPH OR HIGHER. USUALLY A DECREASE IN SPEED MITIGATES THE NOISE, BUT IF CAN BE RATHER DEAFENING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.

PURCHASED VEHICLE AND WHEN WE DROVE IT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (64-75) THERE WAS A SEVERE VIBRATION WITH LOW FREQUENCY RUMBLING (SOUNDED AS THOUGH DRIVING ON RUMBLE STRIP). IF WE DROVE ABOVE 75 THE VIBRATION WOULD LESSEN. WE BROUGHT IN INTO THE DEALER AND ON THE FIRST VISIT THEY FIRST BALANCED TIRES, NO CHANGE NOTICED ALTHOUGH THEY GAVE US THE VEHICLE BACK. SECOND VISIT THEY REPLACED REAR TIRES AND FORCE BALANCED ALL TIRES, NO CHANGE. THEN THEY REPLACED FRONT TIRES AND REPLACED THE REAR DRIVE SHAFT AFTER HAVING TOLD US TWO WEEKS PRIOR THAT THEY HAD MEASURED THE FIRST ONE AND IT WAS WITHIN HYUNDAI SPECS. THE REPLACING OF THE DRIVE SHAFT IMPROVED THE LOW FREQUENCY VIBRATION BUT DID NOT COMPLETELY ELIMINATE IT. WE ARE CURRENTLY WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM HYUNDAI CORPORATE FOR A BUY BACK.
