2022 Volvo XC40 P8 Recharge AWD SUV AWD

I was driving Westbound on a 2-lane tree-lined county road at around 9:00 AM with the sun behind me. Without any other vehicles, pedestrians or objects, the car came to a sudden hard-brake stop with the seatbelt clenching around me. I was alarmed by this "phantom braking" experience.
