The contact owns a 2022 Volvo XC60. While driving at various speeds, the contact discovered that the lane assist safety feature failed to recognize the single or double yellow lines. In addition, he also discovered that the lane assists safety feature did not operate while driving under 35 MPH. The contact also mentioned that the seat belt audible alert would only chime twice and that the warning light would disappear after 45 seconds. The contact stated that without the constant reminder, a person might forget to use the seat belt. The dealer was notified about the seat belt issue and informed that customers preferred a limited seat belt reminder. The contact disagreed and stated that the seat belt reminder should remain constant until the seat belt was securely fastened. The contact sent an email to the manufacturer; however, the contact had not yet received a response. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 0.

Summary

I had only had my car for approximately 2 weeks and had to have it towed to the dealership due to an electrical problem that caused my car to act like it was running out of gas. The dealership had my car for about 3 days and it was an computer problem with the batteries not communicating between systems so they had to order a new module and reset the computer. Another 3 weeks later my parking alert sensors started going off and wouldn’t go off they just stayed on once again took to dealership and it was a computer problem. Both issues was fixed but was told don’t be surprised if happens again might happen until Volvo gets the whole company program updates and if it does happen just bring it back to the dealership and have computer reset. It’s just an inconvenience to think I might have to take my car or have my car towed to the dealership every 2-3 weeks because of a computer update issue this is a brand new car. But I love this car I just hope Volvo gets the computer system fixed for good. Dealership said they had others come in for check engine lights on and other lights even though nothing wrong just a computer issue.

Summary

Volvo rushed the 2022 model year XC60 with the new Google infotainment to market before all the bugs were worked out. While driving after 4 weeks of ownership, the HVAC was not working so unable to defog the windshield, the turn signal lights were not working, maps and speed limit alerts not working. Had to manually reboot the infotainment to regain these necessary safety features. There are numerous internet forums describing issues with the new Google based infotainment that Volvo is using and the slow response to address them. Even the dealer is aware of these reported issues.
