About Vinreport.io

Vinreport.io helps used-car buyers make decisions on facts instead of a seller's story. Since 2016 we have provided VIN checks and full vehicle history reports for vehicles titled in the United States — cars, motorcycles, trucks and motorhomes.

What we do

A VIN — the 17-character vehicle identification number — unlocks a vehicle's documented life. Our free check decodes any VIN into its build specification and shows how many history records exist for it. The full report documents what actually happened to the vehicle: title and brand history across every US state, insurance total losses, junk and salvage records, recorded odometer readings, auction appearances with photos, estimated owners and safety recalls.

Where the data comes from

The backbone of every report is NMVTIS — the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System, the US Department of Justice database that state titling agencies, insurance carriers and salvage businesses are required by federal law to report into. On top of it we layer salvage-auction records and photos, odometer history and NHTSA recall and safety data for the same VIN.

No provider can promise a complete life story of any vehicle — events that were never reported anywhere leave no record. What we promise is the documented history, presented plainly, from the sources with legal reporting obligations behind them.

How we operate

Reports are sold individually and in prepaid packs, delivered in minutes and kept accessible for 31 days per report. The service is available in English, Spanish, Polish, French and Russian. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers.

We publish a complete sample report so you can see exactly what you are buying before you spend anything, and we offer a 14-day refund policy. Questions reach a human at support@vinreport.io.
