While driving home from work, my car, lost power a few times. Though, the maintenance malfunction light did come on, it was while the issue was occurring. I mention this because, in the car’s manual, it states that the light will come on BEFORE the malfunction takes place. I finally made it home, however, the car did continue to lose power while driving. The next morning I took the car to my mechanic, who experienced the same issues, then did a diagnostic test and found these results: P0011; CAM Position; RCTISATOR BNK 1; TIMING OVER ADVANCE. Today while reading over all of the complaints, it is evident that this is a SERIOUS ISSUE! This malfunction is extremely dangerous and can prove to be fatal, due to losing driving power/car cutting off while driving. I am surprised that this potentially fatal malfunction is not considered to be a recall. PLEASE DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND SET A RECALL I also saw someone’s post that stated, there was a Recall and Free replacement on cars with the letters PP within the VIN#, we’re NOT BE SOLD or Leased in the US due to a Federation Violation and Restricted code. Somehow, I was sold one of these UNSAFE and BANNED vehicles. How do those who fall into that same category rectify this problem? Thank You for your help.
THE BLIND SPOT DETECTORS STOPPED WORKING AND A WARNING ON THE DASH APPEARED SAYING "SERVICE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM". THIS WARNING POPS UP EVERY TIME I TURN ON THE CAR AND THE BLIND SPOT DETECTORS DO NOT WORK WHEN I AM DRIVING.
ADVANCED DIAGNOSTICS ALERTS WHETHER SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OR NOT. SENSOR ALERTS CONSTANTLY WHILE DRIVING. IF THERE IS A PASSENGER SOMETIMES THE AIRBAG LIGHT ISN'T LIT NOTIFYING THE AIRBAG IS ON. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR NOT AND HAS HAPPENED MANY, MANY TIMES.
SERVICE AIR BAGS IN THE SEATS COME ON EVERY YEAR.
ALMOST ALL MAKES AND MODELS OF MY VEHICLE YEAR ARE PART OF A RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, BUT NOT MINES. TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WENT OUT IN MY VEHICLE AND ALL THOUGH ALLDATA SHOWS THAT ALL MAKES AND MODELS OF MY VEHICLE YEAR SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER RECALL, GMC BUICK IS TELLING ME MINES DOESNT QUALIFY! TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULES NEVER GO OUT!! NO MACHANIC I CAN FIND HAS SEEN ANY GO OUT OUTSIDE RECALL, ONLY MINES! I DO BELIEVE MY CAR SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. SO I GET TO GO THROUGH THIS AGAIN??? WHAT GOOD IS A WARRANTY, AND WHY IS IT NOT ON THE STICKER AND IS NOT DISCUSSED DURING THE PURCHASE OF SAID NEW VEHICLE! SPOKE TO HYNDAI AND KIA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,500.
WHILE TESTDRIVING THIS CAR, UPON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP, A TRANSIENT WOBBLE, SHUDDER, OR SHAKE OCCURS AT OR NEAR THE RIGHT FRONT OF THE CAR.WE COULD RECREATE IT ON ABOUT 8 OF 16 TRIES WITH VARIOUS SALES PERSONS, MECHANICS AND BUYERS DDRIVING. MAYBE IT OCCURS NEAR 20 MPH AND MAYBE IT OCCURS JUST AFTER THE SHIFT INTO SECOND GEAR. THE CAR HAS NO OPEN RECALLS OR HISTORY OF COLLISION. THE LOCALIZED SHAKE IS ACKNOWLEDGED BY THE PENSACOLA KIA SALESPERSON, THEIR DEALERSHIP MECHANIC, AND THE NEARBY BUICK DEALERSHIP MECHANIC.
AIRBAG ISSUE- AIRBAG SENSORS HAVE BEEN CONSTANTLY GOING OFF AND ON AS VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. REGARDLESS OF TURNS, SPEEDS, MOTION, WEATHER, TEMPERATURE OF VEHICLE, IT COMES ON AND OFF. ISSUE STARTED AT 45,400 MILES. STRUTS ISSUE- STRUTS HAVE BECOME UNSAFE AT 45,600 MILES, THE VEHICLE HAS A TREMENDOUS DROP ON THE REAR, RIGHT PASSENGER END, WHEN REVERSING FROM A DRIVE WAY WITH AN INCLINE.
THE INTAKE CAM SOLENOID VALUE FAILED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. NO LIGHT CAME ON TO WARN ME. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND ALMOST COMPLETELY STOP. I WAS ENTERING A VERY USY INTERSTATE I - 20 AND THE CAR WAS STALLING AS OTHER CARS WERE SPEEDING BEHIND ME. I COULD NOT ACCELERATE AT A SAFE SPEED. I MADE IT TO AN EXIT. THE CAR SHUT OFF . I PUT GAS IN BECAUSE I WAS ON A HALF TANK. I THOUGHT IT WAS GAS RELATED. I TRIED TO LEAVE THE GAS STATION THE CAR CUT OFF AGAIN. I HAD THE CAR TOLLED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHY THAT HAPPENED. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS TO ME WITH NO WARNING THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED. PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT HAPPEN. I CONSIDER THIS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON AN INTERSTATE AND STATIONARY TRYING TO GO FROM A GAS STATION.
WHEN I GET ON THE HIGHWAY THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL SHAKES LIKE IT IS GETTING READY TO FALL OFF. AFTER I'VE BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR A WHILE IT STOPS. I'VE HAD FRONT END ALIGNMENT, BALANCING AND TIRE ROTATION. IT STILL DOES IT EVERY MORNING.

ANOTHER ISSUE IS WITH THERMOSTAT AND DEGREES . DOES NOT SHOW OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE AND ALSO RELAYS THE CHANGE IN THERMOSTAT CONTROLS IN CELSIUS NOT FERINHEIGHT. NO OPTION TO CHANGE .

THE AIR BAG LIGHT AND SOUND INDICATOR RANDOMLY AND REPEATEDLY ALERTS 'SERVICE AIR BAG' WHETHER THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR STOPPED OR HAS AN ADULT PASSENGER OR DOES NOT HAVE A PASSENGER AT ALL. HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE BUICK DEALERSHIP ON THREE OCCASIONS AND THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM OR A RECALL. ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED.

BEGINNING IN MAY, I STARTED NOTICING ODD DECLINES IN ACCELERATIONS, RANDOMLY, EVEN WHEN USING CRUISE CONTROL. THEN, I ALMOST STALLED OUT ON THE ROAD & LOST POWER STEERING. THIS IS DANGEROUS & SCARY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP & REPORTED A HARD SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR AND MY RADIO SHUTTING OFF RANDOMLY, TOO. AFTER LOOKING OVER MY CAR, I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT 'REPLICATE THE ISSUE' OF LOSING POWER, AND THAT THEY NEEDED A CODE OR AN ERROR MESSAGE & TO BRING IT BACK WHEN I HAD THAT! I GUESS, IT'S OK WITH GM IF I'M IN AN ACCIDENT (OR DIE) IN THE MEANTIME, & I WAS TOLD THAT THE HARD SHIFT IS JUST HOW THE CAR RUNS. THESE ANSWERS ARE UNACCEPTABLE. IF A CAR IS DANGEROUS, YOU DON'T SEND A PERSON BACK OUT ON THE ROAD BECAUSE YOU CAN'T 'REPLICATE' THE ISSUE. FURTHERMORE, A SERIOUS HARD SHIFT BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR IS NOT HOW A CAR IS MADE. I BELIEVE THESE ARE 'CANNED' STATEMENTS THAT ARE USED AND TAUGHT IN HOPES THAT THE OWNER WILL GO AWAY'WHICH I DID, BUT SHOULDN'T HAVE. THEN IN AUGUST MY CAR STALLED OUT TWICE & I LOST POWER STEERING AND COULD HAVE BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. BUT NOW, THINGS ARE EVEN WORSE. MY RADIO HAS CUT OFF AGAIN, THE HARD SHIFT IS MORE OBVIOUS, AND NOW MY PASSENGER SEAT SAYS THERE IS SOMEONE THERE WHEN THEY ARE NOT, SO IT BEEPS AT ME. THE CAR IS POSSESSED. THERE IS NO WAS IT SHOULD HAVE THIS MANY PROBLEMS AT ONE TIME. IT SEEMS ELECTRICAL. DEALERSHIP HAS HAD IT FOR TWO WEEKS. I HAD A MESSAGE THIS TIME; STABILITRAK NEEDS SERVICED. THEY AGAIN SAID "CAN'T REPLICATE IT", BUT I WAS NOT ALLOWING THAT ANSWER THIS TIME. THE CAR IS DANGEROUS. GM HAS BEEN SUED OVER VERY SIMILAR ISSUE & SOME ARE REPORTING THEIR FIX ISN'T WORKING & STILL LOSE POWER ON THE HIGHWAY. OTHER 2016 GM CARS HAVE THIS ISSUE. I BOUGHT MY CAR IN JANUARY 2016. SINCE THEN MY PASSENGER AIR LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON. THIS MOSTLY HAPPENS IN THE SUMMER WHEN IT IS HOT AND HUMID. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO MCGRATH BUICK MULTIPLE TIMES. THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO REPAIR THE ISSUE. I HAVE NOW FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE STATE ATTORNEY. I BELIEVE I HAVE A LEMON. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO MY PASSENGERS PER WHEN THIS OCCURS THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IF I AM IN AN ACCIDENT.
WHILE CAR WAS UNATTENDED AT NIGHT AND PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, A FIRE STARTED, APPARENTLY UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT. THE FIRE BURNED THROUGH THE SEAT AND INTO THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR, STARTING AT THE BOTTOM AND CONTINUING UP TO THE WINDOW OPENING. THE DRIVERS DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN THE NEXT DAY AND ALL THE WINDOWS WERE COMPLETELY SMOKED OVER SO THE INTERIOR WAS NOT VISIBLE. WE ENTERED THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE PASSENGER DOOR AND DISCOVERED THE DAMAGE. THIS EVENT OCCURRED DURING THE NIGHT OF 12/6/17. AS OF 1/23/18 BUICK HAS NOT DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM AND HAS NOT OFFERED A SETTLEMENT BUT HAS DETERMINED THE VEHICLE IS A COMPLETE LOSS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS APPROXIMATELY 5,500 MILES.
JAN 2018, THE SYSTEM AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP AND TURNS OUT THE AIRBAG MODULE ITSELF HAS TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED. HOW ANNOYING IS THIS ON A STILL FAIRLY NEW VEHICLE. LET'S KEEP IN MIND I JUST BROUGHT IT IN TO THE SHOP DEC 2017 FOR A DEAD BATTERY BECAUSE APPARENTLY I AUTO STARTED IT TO MUCH.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE HEADLAMPS WERE ADJUSTED; HOWEVER, THAT FAILED TO REMEDY THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SERIOUS AND WOULD REACH BACK OUT TO THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,703.
THE DRIVER AS WELL AS THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER LOSES THE BENEFIT OF THE AIRBAGS IN THE FRONT SEAT AND THE AIRBAG STATUS INDICATOR LIGHTS. NEITHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED IN MY CRASH IN WHICH THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER INJURED. I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AND TURNING LEFT ON A CITY STREET. A LETTER FROM BUICK IN DECEMBER 2016 CLAIMED THAT ONLY THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE NEEDED FIXING.
I WAS DRIVING IN KENWOOD IN CINCINNATI PULLED INTO GO TO STARBUCKS BARELY HIT THE CURB AND MY CONTINENTAL TIRE BLEW. I COULDN'T BELIEVE THAT IT HAPPENED SO EASY. ACTUALLY LOOKING BACK IT WAS SCARY HOW THE TIRE BLEW THAT EASY. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE I HAD TO PAY 241.00 OH AND I HAVEN'T MADE MY FIRST CAR PAYMENT YET. DEALER WANTED ME TO WAIT TILL TOMORROW TO BRING CAR IN I DON'T THINK SO. THEY SAID THEY HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR BUT THIS MORNING I SEE SEVERAL OTHER YEARS HAVE THIS PROBLEM. CALLED DEALER THEY WANTED ME TO WAIT TILL TOMORROW ARE THEY KIDDING. THEY FINALLY AGREED TO GIVE ME A LENDER CAR. SALESMAN SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH VERANO UPON CHECKING THIS MORNING I HAVE FOUND MANY YEARS WITH THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 BUICK VERANO. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, PART OF THE SUBFRAME CONNECTED TO THE WINDSHIELD OBSTRUCTED THE CONTACT'S VISION. THE ISSUE MADE IT DIFFICULT TO EFFECTIVELY COMPLETE THE TURN. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A CURB. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. I PURCHASED MY 2016 BUICK VERANO ON JULY 23, 2016. THAT EVENING WHILE VISITING FRIENDS, MY WIFE AND I LEFT AFTER IT BECAME DARK. AS WE STARTED TO DRIVE WE NOTICED WE COULD ONLY SEE OUT OF THE LOWER QUARTER OF THE WINDSHIELD. IF I PUT THE HIGH BEAMS ON VIEWING BECOMES BETTER. BUT YOU CANNOT DRIVE AROUND WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON, ALL THE TIME! I CANNOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT FOR FEAR OF HAVING AN ACCIDENT AND HURTING MY FAMILY OR ANOTHER FAMILY IN ANOTHER VEHICLE. TRIED TO TRADE BUT THEY WANTED TO DEDUCT $10,000.00 OF MY VEHICLE. GM HAS NO CONCERNS FOR THEIR CUSTOMER'S COMPLAINTS AS I EVEN SENT A LETTER DIRECTLY TO CEO OF GM. IN ONE COMMUNICATIONS WITH GM THEY TOLD ME, THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THIS AND CASE WAS CLOSED.

THE 1ST TIME I DROVE THIS CAR AT THE VISIBILITY RANGE OF LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WAS HORRIBLE. WHAT A DIFFERENCE FROM MY 2007 BUICK LUCERNE! I AVOIDED NIGHT DRIVING BECAUSE OF IT. THEN IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR I SAW A REPORT ONLINE AND ON NATIONAL NEWS ABOUT THE SAFETY OF 30 NEW CARS AND THEIR HEADLIGHT RATING BY THE INSURANCE INSTITUE GO HIGHWAY SAFETY. MY CAR, A 2016 BUICK VERANO WAS LISTED IN THE TOP 3 WORST CARS TESTED. THE NEWS REPORT SUGGESTED DRIVING WITH HIGH BEAMS WHICH IS ILLEGAL. LAST WEEK CAR WAS SERVICED FOR 1ST TIME WITH ONLY 3800 MILES. I BROUGHT MY CONCERNS ABOUT LIGHTS TO ATTENTION OF SERVICE MANAGER AND HE SEEMED OFFENDED OR PUT OFF BY MY CONCERNS. I TOLD HIM I WANTED DOCUMENTATION OF MY CONCERNS BECAUSE WHEN ACCIDENTS START HAPPENING BECAUSE OF THESE POOR LIGHTS I WANTED TO BE PART OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST GM IF THEY ARE FOUND AT FAULT. HE TOLD ME THEY WERE ABLE TO RAISE THE LINE OF SIGHT ABOUT 6 INCHES. THAT NIGHT I TESTED THE LIGHT. NO NOTICEABLE CHANGES. I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON AND RISK A TICKET. GREAT CAR OTHERWISE BUT VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HEADLIGHTS.
AS SOON AS I BOUGHT THIS NEW CAR I WAS DRIVING IT AT NIGHT WITH MY DIM HEAD LIGHTS ON AND I COULD NOT SEE VERY FAR AHEAD OF ME UNLESS I PUT MY BRIGHT LIGHTS ON, SO THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED OR AN ACCIDENT CAN OCCUR VERY EASILY !!!!

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Buick Verano and 2016 Chevrolet Malibu as the electronic park lock lever may allow the ignition key to be removed without the transmission being in PARK. Also, certain 2013 Buick Encore, 2011 Buick Regal, 2013-2014 Buick Verano, 2011-2016 Chevrolet Cruze, 2010-2013 Chevrolet Equinox 2013-2015 Chevrolet Malibu, and 2011-2013 GMC Terrain vehicles may have been serviced with similar defective replacement electronic park lock levers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
