2016 Dodge Grand Caravan VAN FWD

The sliding door on the driver’s side stopped working and stayed shut for a couple days. For no apparent reason it started opening and closing again but only when the door handle was kept pulled. I believe it is a safety issue that could have serious consequences if an emergency occurred and passengers need to immediately exit the vehicle. There was no precursor signs of any other malfunction prior to this issue. I would like to know if this a recall situation in the near future? Thank you

My car died while idling at a stop light 3 times in a row. My engine literally shut off in the middle of the street with 5 kids in the car. Upon further investigation I see there is a major transmission issue with this vehicle and I am currently awaiting confirmation of that diagnosis from our mechanic. Unfortunately, even though this is a 2016 it does not fall under the recall. I'm not sure why since I personally know THREE other people who have had the exact same issue at 95k-100k miles with their 2015/2016 vans. I'm very disappointed and intend to take this further with Dodge itself but the recall needs to be extended to ALL 2015 and 2016 Dodge grand caravans. I will not allow my children or anyone else's to be put at risk because of their clear negligence.

A month, or so ago our passenger slide sliding door started making a loud buzzing sound when we unlocked the doors. That is annoying, but to me is not a safety issue, so wasn't too concerned about it. What is going on with our driver side sliding door now I do believe is a safety issue and needs to be part of a recall. The driver side sliding door was refusing to unlock, or open sometimes but now it is all the time. We are unable to manually unlock it to use the door. It is stuck in the lock position and totally unusable now as we are unable to manually unlock it by hand and unable to unlock it using the door locks, or the the remote. The lights flash when i click the button on the remote to open that door, but it doesn't respond and unlock it. What is gonna happen when the other door decides to do the same thing and no one can get out of the van in the case of an emergency. This needs to be a recall and be fixed for all the families that drive and love your vans. We've never had an issue like this with our previous years of Dodge vans. I got the warranty thing in the mail for this to be fixed with 150,000 miles, or less. At the time I got the letter ours was only doing the buzzing sound on the one door, but it already had 160,000 miles on it, so it was past the warranty time to get fixed. The driver's side sliding door will not open, manually or electronically. This apparently is a VERY common issue for Dodge and is a very big safety concern. We have brought it to make mechanics and all have stated that is is extremely expensive to fix and almost impossible to find the needed parts. I have children in the car, and this is a very big safety concern. We also cannot get rid of the car, sell it or trade it due to this issue. The amount of people with the similar issue on the 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan is alarming and this should be taken care of asap.

Power locks actuators in sliding doors are failing, produce loud buzzing noise. Failure of locks could present risk of trapped passengers.

Sliding door actuator will not lock

The actuator on the sliding door of the minivan is stuck in the unlocked position. This means that the door cannot lock under any circumstances. When driving the door remains unlocked and there is no way to lock it. The other sliding door was previous stuck in the locked position and I had it replaced by a mechanic.

The right (passenger side) sliding door is locked closed and will not open from the inside or outside. Rear-seat passengers are being forced to exit through the windows, rear hatch, front doors, or the other sliding door. This is not only an unnecessary inconvenience but also potentially very dangerous if there's an accident when occupants need to exit the vehicle quickly. I will take the vehicle to the dealer for inspection. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptom prior to the failure. The problem first appeared two days ago, the van has less that 100,000 miles.

Sliding passenger door actuator makes a loud buzzing noise when unlocking, and also will fail to unlock. In the event of an emergency, passengers will be unable to unlock the door and exit from the vehicle. No warning lamps have activated, notifying of a problem. There are no recalls on file.

Vehicle: I own a 2016 Dodge Caravan. Issue: When I unlock my van or open the back passenger sliding door, there is a loud annoying buzzing noise coming from the door. It may be a door actuator. Periodically the lock will stop responding and it stays locked until the buzzing noise comes back. I have small children and this worries my wife and I. The drivers side sliding door lock is buzzing and not sure if it auto locks.

Sliding door locks cannot be operated from outside of the vehicle, once the lock actuator fails. The button on the inside, (both upper console and B pillar button) will not operate the door. The door can only be opened manually after manually moving the lock switch. Small or older passengers would not be able to exit after a crash, and could not be assisted without breaking the window.

According to research there is known problem with the slidding Van Doors for the 2016 Dodge Caravan. Both of my van doors have went out and is stuck in lock mode, to where it will not unlock or open. This is a safety issue especially when you have children that cannot unrestrain themselves from a seatbelt or car seat.

The passenger (right) side rear sliding door has gotten stuck and will not unlock manually. It has been stuck for about a year and after going to the dealer they’re claiming it’s a common defect that is hard to repair. We are unable to enter the car from the passenger side rear sliding door and hopefully the driver side sliding door doesn’t get stuck, otherwise we will be unable to exit the car, which can be excessively dangerous while in an accident type incident. This door being stuck is already reasonably dangerous since our kids are unable to exit the vehicle curb side and must exit on the drivers (left) side of the vehicle. Door became stuck 3 years after it was new, with just under 45,000 miles on the car. When trying to unlock the door with the automatic door button it will just make a sort of buzzing noise.

Loud buzzing sound when unlocking doors coming from sliding passenger side sliding door. At times cannot get door to operate. Safety issue!! I have reported this earlier and want to know when recall will occur. Dealer approx cost $1000 per door. Crazy, that people may get trapped inside car, and there is nothing Dodge is doing about it. Like I said, I have reported this before, so the date shown on this complaint may not match original NHTSA submission.

The car will just turn off, requiring it be placed in park and restarted.

Out of the blue the passenger slider door started making this awful noise everytime you unlock it. Sounds like this is a pretty common probably after doing some research. Should be a re call after multiple searches it’s something that started on the 2016 with the locking mechanism.

Both of my back sliding doors have locked up….we had to pull by 80 year old mother in law out the back cargo area…this is a 2016 vehicle and now the alarm is constantly going of the horn is blowing and I am on disability and can not afford to fix all that is going wrong with this car….now I have a van that the kids are having to climb in and out the front and this is so embarrassing…please help. I have heard several complaints on the same matter…I have had 2 transmissions out in here and I bought this car with only 313 miles on it…

The door lock actuator is buzzing on our driver side sliding door. I have read that there are issues with buzzing and then the lock failing and the door not opening. This is super concerning because my three year old sits on this side in a five point harness.

The fuel pump stays on 24 hours a day even after the engine has been turned off. These are referred to online as TIPM Fuel Pump. The Dodge dealer wants to replace the entire box of fuses at a cost of 1000-1500. It is a known problem affecting thousands of users. So much of a known problem that there is a website that is selling electronic modules that kill the fuel pump when the key is off. VerticleVisions.com is a website selling a hack to solve the Dodge issue. Apparently there had been a recall of other models and years but not my make or model. Quoting a Youtuber "As you may know, there has been a recall on certain models of Jeep and Dodge vehicles due to fuel pump relay failures. Other vehicles in the Chrysler and Jeep umbrella may utilize the exact TIPM containing the failing embedded relay as the vehicles listed in the recall, they are NOT listed in the VIN specific recall. To exacerbate the issue, the replacement part manufactured by Mopar is explicitly reserved for only the VINs for the vehicle models and years listed in the recall, so try as you might to order one online or have it serviced at the dealer, Mopar will not send one without a matching VIN. Further worsening the situation, the newest version of the bypass kit is on back order for months, leaving nearly everyone that actually HAS a VIN listed in the recall in as terrible a situation as the rest of us. Aside from a brand new TIPM for nearly $1,200.00 or a junkyard or eBay score for a used one, if your vehicle intermittently cranks but does not start or starts but immediately dies, and is noticeably worse in cold weather and mornings, here is the best solution to bypass the relay altogether and get yourself on the road or off the side of it. Relays are important and without one, you could damage your fuel pump. Please consider this as you look to the future." This is a safety hazard and should be recalled by the manufacturer. Other vehicles with the same issue have been recalled.

The driver's side sliding door no longer opens automatically or manually. The button fob or the interior will not open the door.

While I was driving, down the road from the grocery store, my vehicles rpm's jump high but the vehicle was not going any faster and was actually slowing down. I pulled over as i could not get the vehicle to move. I turned the engine off and back on and put it in gear and it started to go but then it started acting up again. It started giving a whinning noise from the engine compartment so I believe that it is the transmission pump because it will not shift in any gear and when I trottle high enough the whinning noise gets louder.

My 2016 having the same issue as many others and it seems to be a bad cylinder head. We have changed the coil and plug, but that didnt help. Apparently the #2 cylinder head is prone to this problem. Chrysler tells me that it is my problem, and they will not help with the $2700 repair (68,000 miles). I am searching to speak with someone further up the chain of command at Chrysler. Hopefully this helps.......cylinder #2 misfire on my 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan; problems in the valve seats/ cylinder head; I HAD THE SPARK PLUGS CHANGED AND STILL IDLED ROUGH AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. I HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND FOUND DEFECTIVE VALVE GUIDE IN CYLINDER. HE STATED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE HE SAID COMPRESSION ISSUE! How is there no recall on this issue? The right sliding door makes a very loud buzzing noise when it is unlocked. It does still work but when I have mentioned it to mechanics they have said they see this a lot with my vehicle and is likely a faulty door lock actuator.

The hazardous roads symbol will light up on dash and then it will not allow me to use cruise control or shift the car out of park. I have to use the release button accessible from the hole in the dash to shift the car out of park when that hazardous road condition light is on. The hazardous road light will come on out of no where on a perfectly fine day and then mysteriously go off.

My car qualifies for a recall for the Dodge Grand Caravan transmission pump. The dates of affected caravans were from July 31 2015 to April 18th 2016. My caravan was built in February 2016 the recall code from the dealer is S44 and the NHTS a recall code is 16V461000. I have tried working with the dealership because due to this issue it blew my transmission. I have been complaining about the issue of the car is weird tendencies when switching in and out of gear for several years now and they are refusing to do anything. I am simply asking for them to replace the defective part and my transmission because this is clearly during the timeframe of the recall. My van is not pulling up in the recalls. However it is the exact same issue as the actual recall itself that I am having. And it is the reason my transmission has gone out.

Fold sliding doors have alternated either being locked and unable to be opened or unlocked and will not lock. This does not matter if the car is moving or not. I'm concerned when they both decide not to open and the safety hazard it's will pose if we get in an accident and can't get out of the vehicle. Also we are unable to secure the vehicle when we go anywhere leaving us vulnerable to thieves. Seems to be a very common problem in these vehicles for many many people.

Door latching / locking and unlocking operation. Both drivers side and passenger side sliding doors will not unlock. This is very dangerous when trying to get children out of there car seats to exit the car. The car has only 15,000 miles on it and I purchased it new. I did read that there are many complaints about this and it is under investigation and that the manufacture sent out a notice to dealers that the door actuator was defective. This started over a year ago with first the drivers side would not unlock and now both will not unlock.

In addition, the contact mentioned that the vehicle failed to exceed 25 MPH a few hours later. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 97,099.

The contact stated that his daughter was in the passenger seat when she activated the push start button and the vehicle rolled backward while in the park position. The contact's daughter got out of the vehicle midway while it was rolling backward and sustained scrapes to her knees and elbows. The vehicle crashed into the neighbor's garage door. The rear windshield was shattered, and the rear fender and liftgate were damaged. No medical attention was received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer informed the contact that they would reach out in 4 days. The failure mileage was 77,800.

Side slider door lock actuator on passenger side makes lots of noise and the lock actuator on left side without notice has stopped working also at same time. This lock mechanism issue prevents the slider door locks or handles from working inside and outside the vehicle. Remote does not work for these doors either, but still work for front doors and hatch.

- Left side sliding door will not unlock to open; * safety concern of rear passengers being trapped if right side slider is hit in an accident - Right side sliding door will not lock; * Safety concern for burglary or car-jacking - I will put the Grand Caravan in Bettenhausen Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep (Orland Park, IL) for repairs on Nov 11, 2021! - Stellantis/Chrysler should reimburse me for these repairs!

Vehicle's rear sliding doors intermittently jam locked, one, or the other, or both. The respective sliding locks will not budge, not by remote, not from the button on the driver's door, and especially, not even manually, from the sliding lock on the doors themselves. Sometimes a buzzing sound is heard from one or the other of the the locks when commanding to lock electrically, including when the car starts moving at over 20 mph or so, and all doors lock automatically. I understand that electrical commands ("power" this and that) may stop working at some time in the life of a car, but at least they can be so engineered that in case of the door locks not to jam the lock in the locked position! I understand there are a few hundred complaints about these locks, all jamming, all in the locked position, on all vans w/sliding doors built by Chrysler. What would it take for the Chrysler-Fiat, or whatever they're called now, to fix the problem and issue a recall?? A fire? Injuries? Worse, God forbid? Can you imagine when the injured party lawyers find out there have been hundreds of similar complaints and no recall? ..

Both back sliding door locks are inoperable. The passenger side made a buzzing noise for a while and now won't lock at all and the drive side will not unlock even, manually flipping the switch does not work.

Driving home on the highway. Van began making a loud whirring sound when accelerating. Noise had gotten louder over a few days. Took van in to be checked. Service tech said transmission pump is failing and the part has a safety recall. NHTSA Campaign ID Number 16V461000. Chrysler's number for this recall is S44. Called Chrysler customer service and was told the vin for our vehicle was not included in the recall.

Driver side middle sliding door will not open

Purchase vehicle in April 2021. Discovered after 3 days that left sliding door did not lock when the rest of the vehicle was locked. When the door was opened with the car locked the alarm sounded. Returned to dealer who replaced the door actuator. The repair has lasted 6 months and has now presented itself again.

Last week the driver's side automatic sliding door in my 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan got stuck in the locked position. It is unable to be opened, either by remote or manually, and the lock can not be disabled rendering this door unusable. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD! I have 4 children, which is the main reason I got a minivan and specifically one with automatic sliding doors. Two of my children are still in car seats, which are located beside each sliding door so I can help with their seat belts as needed. My youngest is beside the driver's side sliding door, the one I have having the issue with now. Right now, unless I reach over and behind the driver's seat or walk around the car to the opposite door, I CAN NOT REACH MY CHILD'S CAR SEAT!!!! Not only is this extremely inconvenient and time consuming, IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! What if my son needs help with something and I need to reach him? What if he is choking? What if we are in an accident and I need to get him out of his car seat? When searching this issue online, it quickly became evident THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT DODGE KNOWS ABOUT AND HASN'T RECALLED!!! I was beyond shocked and appalled! How could this issue be common and known - it's ALL OVER the Internet, and not be acknowledged by Dodge??? Is my children's safety not worthy of a recall? Is this just a money making scheme? ARE THEY WAITING FOR A CHILD TO DIE TO DO A RECALL? The majority of people who buy minivans have young children and need the convenience of sliding doors. So the majority of people at-risk with this issue are children. This is blatant neglect on the part of Dodge and needs to be called out and have Dodge recall it as soon as possible before something bad happens. Thank you for your help in this matter.

The lock actuator in both rear sliding doors has failed. The first to fail was the rear passenger door. While the door and lock still operate, it makes a loud buzzing noise whenever it is activated (as described in the 2016 TSB issued by the manufacturer.) My mechanic inspected and confirmed this problem in September 2021. Just the other day (10/20/21), the actuator on the rear driver door also failed without any warning (it had never made noise): the lock “seized” and we were unable to unlock and open the door through any means. This exact pattern of failure has been reported by many other owners of this vehicle. Malfunctioning locks present an obvious safety problem, especially in the case of the locked door which would make it difficult for my children to escape the car quickly in an emergency. Neither actuator has been replaced yet and thus they are available for inspection if necessary.

I have a 2016 dodge grand caravan and every time I unlock the door or lock it it makes this loud buzzing noise, the door works fine it opens and close. But when using the unlock button from the key everyone can hear the load buzzing noise. I think it is the door actuator.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. West Herr Chrysler Dodge RAM of Orchard Park (3551 Southwestern Blvd, Orchard Park, NY 14127) was also contacted and confirmed the information. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 52734. Additional info from the owner. Thet transmission was diagnosed with a transmission pump failure. The failed part fell within the recall dates but the manufacturer refused to cover. The process took almost a month to resolve. Without any assistance from the manufacturer or West Herr Dodge, another local dealer Joe Ciccone Chrysler Dodge offered assistance in the cost of a transmission replacement.

My doors are in a locked position and can't open! I have young children and no access to my doors. Just purchased this car from a dealership!

Both sliding doors will not open. It started that one would not lock and one would not unlock now both are stuck closed. I have 3 kids and they have to crawl out the front doors in order to get out or in. I have been reading about the actuators going out on other vans.

The passenger side sliding door will not lock, even the manual lock is stuck in the unlocked position. I just bought the car used 2 months ago and only realized the problem when I went to pick up my children from school. They approached the vehicle and pulled the door handle before I had a chance to put the car in park, and to my surprise it opened. I don't know how long it's been like this. It's my understanding that this is a common point of failure for 2015-2018 Dodge/Chryser minivans, that the locks can become stuck in the locked or unlocked position and it's very expensive for the consumer to fix. The manufacturer ought to issue a recall and replace the faulty components as this is a safety issue.

Automatic door locks make loud buzzing noise when they lock. I m afraid we will get stuck in locked car. I have not brought to anyone yet. No warning lamps or anything else. This is a definite safety Hazzard and I want it repaired at no charge before something tragic happens.

When the doors are unlocked, a loud buzzing noise comes from the vehicle. Upon research it seems like it is a faulty door actuator. This could cause the doors to be unable to open or close. It has not been repaired and it is available for inspection upon request.

DRIVERS SIDE, SLIDING DOOR, WON'T OPEN OR CLOSE. EITHER REMOTELY OR MANNUALLY. ALL DOORS HAVE BEEN BUZZING UPON ACTIVATION FOR A FEW YEARS NOW, BUT I CAN"T AFFORD TO FIX THAT. I HAVE REVIEWED THIS CONDITION ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND IT'S MORE COMMON THAN I WOULD THOUGHT. DODGE SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR NOT CORRECTING THIS PROBLEM.

The driver's side headrest has deployed on it's own while parked in a driveway and turned off. After inspection, the plastic brackets that retain the metal pin that is supposed to secure the headrest broke apart and released the headrest into a deployed position. This is a design flaw that should be recalled before someone becomes injured. The headrest is under a spring loaded force that the plastic was not engineered to restrain.

I have a faulty door lock actuator on the back left sliding door. It is making a buzzing sound. Not sure if it is actually locking or not.

While pulling into a parking lot, the engine suddenly died with no indicator lights or warning of any kind. Steering locked up and brakes were not functional. Coasted to a stop in a stall and put the vehicle in park. Restarted it without incident but I'm afraid it will happen in much more dangerous conditions

Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a transmission failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V461000 (Power Train) which he linked to the failure; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact also discovered that the recall applied to vehicle’s manufactured within a certain date and realized that his vehicle was manufactured under the date listed. The contact called the dealer and the manufacturer and explained his discovery; however, he was offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.

The driver side sliding door makes a loud buzzing sound whenever the doors lock. I have read up on this and it is a faulty door lock actuator. This sound is sudden and loud and has on multiple times caused the driver to get startled. This sound happens when the van auto-locks at the door locks specific set speed.

Driver's side sliding door lock mechanism became suddenly inoperable, without warning, both electrically and manually. Even with manual operation of the door lock knob, the door cannot be unlocked. It is not possible to open the door using either the interior or exterior door latch handle, therefore eliminating this door as a means of exit for the rear passengers. The exact same problem occurred with the passenger side sliding door in December 2018. I personally performed the repair of that door. The problem was a failed door lock actuator. It had a faulty actuator gear. I believe this problem potentially puts the occupants of the vehicle at high risk by obstructing exiting of the vehicle in an emergency situation, especially in a situation where the opposite door was inoperable or obstructed during an accident.

The transmission shifts really hard sometimes, after if feels like it's not shifting while driving. Sometimes it's difficult to get up to speed because it isn't shifting, then when it does shift my van takes off. It's available for inspection. I feel this is unsafe due to the vehicle not being able to get up to speed, because the transmission isn't shifting properly, inhibiting the ability to get up to speed in a timely manner. It's happened a few times over the past few months. It's happened at different speeds. 40-65mph. There haven't been any warnings prior to the incidents. No warning lights or anything on, on the dashboard.

3 malfunctions within a month time frame. The car will start and run normally. Then it will suddenly come to a halt because the engine will continue to run but the transmission knob will not be able to move, and the entire electrical panel lights up. Repeated attempts to use the push button start to unlock the transmission knob and be able to start car fail. This has happened 2 of the 3 times on major roadways in traffic. PD was called for last incident. The car has been to the dealer 3 times, dealer is unable to replicate problem and unable to pull codes from computer every single time. Vehicle has been inspected by dealer every single time. No warning lights or lamp or messages have appeared prior to this issue. The last incident - as described on major roadway - my children were in vehicle. This is a complete and dangerous issue, still not being addressed. The car had come to a light, stopped, the auto engine had kicked in, and when time to move, the entire panel lit up and transmission knob locked once again.

My car showed all kinds of notices on the screen and was not turning on correctly and shaking while driving or standing. I took it to the dealer and was told my entire engine will have to be replaced due to oil sludge on the engine and this will cost be around $9000. I’ve been researching and it seems this tends to happen a lot to dodge car engines. My car has under 60,000 miles.

The transmission pump lost pressure which caused the vehicle to stop on the side of the road, and it created a hazardous circumstance for my daughter. We had to have the vehicle towed to our residence since the transmission was not working properly. We have not had it looked at by a dealer or certified mechanic since it requires towing to get it to the destination. No warning was given by any lights or indicators in the vehicle prior to the incident. The check engine light did come on after the vehicle had stopped on the side of the road. I plugged in my FIXD sensor, and it indicated the problem was with the transmission pump. A Safety Recall (S44) was issued for the 2015 - 2016 Grand Caravans, but for some reason a notice was not sent to the owner of this vehicle, even though the date of manufacture listed on the vehicle indicates it should have been included in the original safety recall notices.

Bought van and shortly after the right passenger sliding door starting making a loud buzz every time it was unlocked. Researched that it was the actuator, have not fixed yet. Now, In August 2021, the drivers passenger sliding door will not open. It just stopped one day. it won't open with the latch, inside or outside, with the key fob, or with the button inside on the door or on the visor. 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. The passenger side sliding door makes a groaning or buzzing when unlocking. Cannot manually move passenger side lock switch mechanism either. Both sliding doors have become stuck in the closed position in the past several times over the past several years, making it hard to get people out of car. Seems like a safety type issue. The repair for this (approx $1000 per door) seems to be very expensive for something that should not fail. Problem of doors getting stuck in locked position at times has been intermittent meaning lock/ unlock may work again . Not sure if this is due to unhooking battery and resetting or just because car was turned off and on.

Loud buzzing sound when you lock doors

The locking mechanism on the passenger rear sliding door makes a loud buzzing noise when unlocking. It is so loud that it can be heard up to 15 feet from the vehicle. Sometimes it will either stay in the locked position or it will remain unlocked regardless of the buttons being pushed. In the event of an accident and the door is stuck in the locked position it will put my children in danger of not being able to get out of the vehicle through that door. I have not taken it to be inspected nor has the manufacturer inspected it. There were no warning lights or indicators prior to or after the problem started. The left sliding door has locked up and will not open manually, by key fob, or the overhead buttons. Cannot get out of this door in case of an accident. I haven't taken to dealer because they want $120 just to look at it. No warnings in the vehicle prior to the door locking up.

The driver side rear sliding door has stopped functioning. It is stuck closed. My 2016 dodge van began to lose power while i was on the freeway. While changing gears it was hesitant and would stall and lose power going from the second to the third gear. It appears the RPMs would go past 4 then the gear would change but with less power. Then the check engine light came on. Various times while i was stopped at a light upon acceleration the car would turn off. I took it down to the repair shop for the computer analyzation and was told to change the ignition coils and spark plugs and any and all air filters and check the sensors. The Performance did improve and I discovered the engine mounts were all in need of repair and that was the cause of the transmission stalling. I had those repaired and now the gears work fine. And now after spending quite a bit of money notice another issue. When I am getting out of my drive way and go from Reverse then stop to Drive there is a stall and the transmission does a clunk sound before it changes gear to drive. It very dangerous due to the fact that the gear stall and if the drive gear does not kick it any passing car may hit my van

Passenger and drivers side rear sliding door locks making grinding noise, both during lock and unlock movements.

Very common cylinder 2 misfire. Replaced all spark plugs and the cylinder two ignition coil. Replaced upper and lower intake gasket seals, replaced the fuel injector. Still having issues with misfire. Wiring is all correct - pumps and valves are right. It must be a broken head and this is a known issue with previous years of Chrysler engines that have had recalls. This is an expensive fix and dangerous if not fixed. It is not fair to the consumer that Chrysler has still yet to fix such issues after prior years have been recalled, and yet they don’t recall the 2016 pentastar 3.6L. I am requesting this be looked into and recalled for I am one of many who are encountering this serious issue that will inevitably cause wrecks.

Vehicle was loaded with 5 people. At destination the passenger sliding door would not unlock. It will still not unlock after trying to push the inside manual lock switch. It will not unlock after trying "fixes" on the internet. I consider it a safety issue when the kids cannot get out of a door that cannot be manually unlocked or opened in any way. Dealer says ~$600 to fix and that is only for one door. They say the other should be replaced also. The problem is the door lock solenoid that burns out. I do not control the number of times the solenoid is operated, that is programmed by the manufacturer. This is not acceptable to have to pay fix a safety issue. There should be a recall and the dealer should fix the problem for free.

Currently my sliding passenger side door is in the locked position and will not unlock. I purchased the vehicle in January 2016 and had the drivers side sliding door lock actuator replaced by dealer in September 2018. I am now incurring the cost of having the passenger side actuator replaced. I believe this is a major safety issue as my children cannot exit the vehicle on one side, twice now on a relatively new vehicle. The door lock CANNOT be utilized in a manual manor thus it is either risk having to exit through the rear lift gate or front door or pay to have the part replaced. I will ask to have the defective part retained for inspection on the current broke side. There is a FCA service bulletin, 23-017-20 currently recommending dealers replace both sides when brought ot hteir attention.

Both passenger and drivers side sliding doors emits a buzzing sound when unlock / locking. Driver side sliding now no longer locks, the auto open/close feature does not work, and often times cannot securely close the door without manual manipulation. Back seated passengers now must exit from the front. This concerns me, especially in the case of an emergency.

the sliding doors on the 2016 doge caravan quit working and are in locked position with no way to open ( really bad if young ones are strapped in their car seats) Chrysler will not help in any way, body shop wants to cut holes in door, dodge dealer was pretty informed on it but said they probably will break something trying to repair it, cost per door $150 to 300 or more. how can this not be a serious safety concern?. quite frankly the Chrysler service line is poor to useless.

Transmission failed. The assembled date is 6/18/2016 - 60 days after a transmission pump recall ended. Our technician specifically mentioned the transmission pump failed. They need to extend the recall date to include our vehicle that was manufactured on 6/18/2016.

My wife was driving down the road when out of no where her headrest just deployed slamming into the back of her head. After examining the headrest it was clear that a plastic piece had deteriorated causing the headrest to release.

Driver side window motor and hardware have been replaced twice in the past 2 years and keeps falling into the door panel. The window falls without being used, just a loud dang and the window falls. There have been no accidents that side of the vehicle and it was parked when it happened

The drivers side sliding door won’t open. We have tried locking and unlocking the door, but the lock won’t move. We have tried opening using the indoor and outdoor handles, driver and passenger buttons, and key fob. We have tried changing out the fuse. When getting a repair for another issue, the mechanics were unable to open the door as well. This poses a safety issue because in case of an accident that renders the other sliding door unusable, passengers would not be able to exit the vehicle.

The vehicle left me stranded and would not go forward and then I got a brand new transmission under warranty and literally 4 month later the transmission started acting up and I have continued to have issues with it ever since I have gotten it and it continues to have transmission issues! Passenger sliding rear door latch would not unlatch by any means of normal operation. Lock tab inside would not move to unlock position and key fob also would not unlock door. I took the inside panel off and readjusted the locking rod mechanism. That was the only way to get it to work again. This happened several times in both lock and unlock positions. Both of our sliding Door locks were unusable after they locked themselves and we could not open them manually or electronically . We had to replace one of the driver passengers door mechanisms, on June 5th, 2021 and the other passengers slide door will not lock at all. The driver's side power sliding door locked and would not open either by mechanical means or power slide using the handle or the button over the driver's head. Then the next day the passenger side sliding door did the same thing. I had to hit the door with my socked foot from the inside while trying to unlock the door manually. I was eventually able to get the driver's side sliding door open by this means and the passenger door started to work also. The problem now is the actuator makes a buzzing sound when I hit the lock button either on the door or the keyless remote or when the vehicle reaches auto lock speed. This is a HUGE safety issue for rear passengers. If there is an accident or vehicle fire, the rear passengers will not be able to get out and might suffer severe injuries or die!!!!!!!!!!!

I am writing today with a serious safety issue on our 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. Our van has rear power sliding doors and locks; recently the drivers side rear door has stopped sliding and will not unlock at all, either with the key or manually. APPARENTLY this is a WELL-KNOWN ISSUE ; the dealer has stated that they will take a look at a vehicle for repair but we will have to pay the $200 diagnostic fee and approximately $1300-1700 to have the door repaired. THIS IS A COMMON FACTORY DEFECT that is also a SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD . I have two young children; if I was hit on the passenger side of the vehicle, how could I possibly get my children out of the car safely? If it was simply a power vs. Manual door issue, we wouldn't mind. However, the door will NOT OPEN AT ALL!! Now the passengers side rear slide door is making really loud noises, . Loud enough to startle people walking by or in the van trying to get out. So, it is also about to go out and that will leave no way in to the side of the van where my children and elderly parents sit to get them out and it will be another $1300- $1700 to fix. Will it take the Death of a child for Dodge to issue a recall on the common problem? Even the repair tech at the dealer said that it happens all the time. This is not right and not safe for families. I already filed a complaint no: 11351148 about the side power door on the left side being stuck in the locked position with no way to open it. I have now discovered the the power door on the right side isn't locking. I have to manually lock the door with the toggle switch because the electrical locking feature isn't working. This is dangerous because we had assumed that the door was locked when we pushed the electrical lock button in the van or on the fob. This is dangerous for the security of people and items in the vehicle. I believe that this malfunction may be related the the problem with the door being locked shut on the other side of the Caravan with no way to get it opened.

I was stopped at a stoplight about to turn on to the Florida Turnpike when my car started idling loudly. When I stepped on the gas, I was shifted into neutral. I had to quickly shut down my vehicle, make a u-turn, and pray I would make it home. The car is no longer drivable as it slips into neutral and will not go over 10 miles per hour. The check engine light is on. Upon inspection by the independent mechanic, 6 diagnostic errors came up indicating an issue with the transmission. The mechanic confirmed that the transmission will need to be rebuilt or replaced. The van only has 57,139 miles! It's been maintained with semi-synthetic oil changes. The powertrain warranty expired just 3.5 months ago! Customer service refuses to extend good will even though the car was not driven for several months due to COVID quarantine and is under the 60k mile threshold. There is no reason a car with 57k miles and regular maintenance should have a failed transmission!

The driver's side door is stuck in the locked position. You cannot unlock it manually, you cannot open the door manually. The key fob will not open it. The button on the top of the van will not open it. If this happens to all the doors, we could be stuck inside. We live in South Carolina where the daily summer temperatures are over 90. If all of the doors get stuck, who knows if the windows will get stuck. What if we get stuck in the car? We have contacted someone to repair it and it is over $1200. That is ridiculous for a 5 year old vehicle. There were no warnings of this and the door opened about 10 minutes before this happened. I am on a Q&A post about this issue with almost 200 other people who all have the same issue. How is this not a huge safety concern for you at Dodge?

Its a known common problem for the automatic doors to stop working. My driver side back door has stopped working and now is stuck shut where I cannot open. This is a huge safety issue since all exits fo not work and if I was in an accident and needed to get my kids out and that was th only door I was able to use then we would end up dead or in serious condition. Passenger side rear sliding door stuck in locked position. Unable to open door/unlock door using key fob lock button, key fob door button, console door button, outside door handle, inside door handle. Cannot manually unlock door or unlock using any of the power unlock buttons in the car or on the fob. Door operates correctly right up until it doesn't with no warning. I have an handicapped passenger for this vehicle. He was not in the car, but could have been. Any person would be unable to exit the vehicle from the middle row passenger seat thru that door. If it was a carseat, another individual would have to climb in from another entry point and release the child. If it was my adult son with cerebral palsy, removing him from the vehicle would be arduous and impossible in an emergency situation. Given that passenger vans are often used for ADA persons, this is a serious safety issue and needs resolution.

2016 Dodge Minivan began jerking and attempting to find gears on/about 24 May, 2021. Brought car in to dealership (where car was purchased and serviced for past five years) that evening for a morning assessment. Was told that the transmission pump failed leading to severe transmission damage and a complete rebuild was required. Car was 6 weeks out of warranty (Mar 31, 2021 warranty expiration) and upon research found that certain 2015/2016 minivans were recalled for same issue/faulty transmission pumps. No warning on dashboard took place until the actual damage had occurred.

Headlamps started leaking water into them a year ago, problem is getting much worse. Unsafe to drive in rain as headlamps dim badly with water inside.

Rear sliding door locks. The locks on the vehicle have malfunctioned and makes it unsafe for passengers in the rear of the vehicle to exit in an emergency. The driver side door is stuck in the lock position and the door cannot be opened in any way rendering it useless. The actuator on the passenger side has mail functioned as well and cannot be locked/unlocked with the buttons in the vehicle or the fob. This seems to be very common in these vehicles and dodge needs to fix this issue. It is very unsafe as most minivans are purchased for families with children. Heaven forbid the vehicle is involved in a bad accident and the children cannot be removed because the doors are stuck in the locked position

HOWEVER, SINCE THE ACTUATORS WENT BAD, THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED. THE DOORS MUST BE OPENED TO TAKE FOR PANELS OFF TO ACCESS/REPLACE ACTUATORS. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL OTHER ALTERNATOR ISSUES SIMILAR TO MINE WHEN SEARCHING THE INTERNET AND AM WONDERING WHY HAVEN'T THESE ALTERNATORS BEEN RECALLED IF ANOTHER VEHICLE MADE BY CHRYSLER HAS A RECALL BUT THE DURANGO DOES NOT. VEHICLE WAS DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS UP TO AN INTERSECTION AND ONCE STOPPED, IT SHUT OFF. ORIGINALLY THOUGHT IT WAS THE AUTO START/STOP, BUT ENGINE DID NOT ENGAGE AND POWER STEERING WAS ALSO OUT. UNABLE TO START THERE AFTER.

WATER HAS LEAKED INTO THE "RACE TRACK LIGHTING" ON THE LIFT GATE. THIS IS FROM NORMAL, EVERYDAY DRIVING USE AND CARE. THE LIFT GATE TAIL LIGHTS, AS WELL AS LICENSE PLATE LIGHTING NO LONGER FUNCTION. THIS MAKES MY VEHICLE DANGEROUS, AND ILLEGAL TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. IT IS CLEARLY A DEFECTIVE PART AND I'M FURIOUS THAT THESE LIGHTS ARE SO COSTLY TO REPLACE. I THOUGHT LEDS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE MUCH LONGER LASTING. LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING IS A MASSIVE SAFETY ISSUE, NOT JUST FOR THE VEHICLE THAT LOSES POWER, BUT FOR ALL VEHICLES AROUND IT. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO BOOKED AN APPOINTMENT TO DODGE HONOLULU BRANCH WHICH I DID TO CHECK MY AIRBAG THAT NEVER WORK SINCE I TOOK THE CAR BRAND NEW AND THE BATTERY IS BEING REPLACED LESS THAN A YEAR FOR 4 TIMES IN 3 YRS. BUT WHEN I BROUGHT MY CAR TO DODGE HONOLULU, I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT DODGE MAIN OFFICE DENIED MY CAR CHECK. I INFORMED BOTH MR KUNISKIS AND MR. AGOSTA BUT NEVER HEARD BACK TODAY.

FAULTY DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ON PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR. DOOR MAKES LOUD BUZZING SOUND EVERY TIME THE AUTOLOCK FEATURE IS ACTIVATED (15MPH). I AM CONCERNED THAT THE SLIDING DOOR NOT LOCKING CAN CAUSE AN ISSUE DURING A COLLISION.

THE ELECTRIC LOCKS ON BOTH OF THE SLIDING REAR DOORS HAVE A BUZZ WHEN OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOORS, ALSO WHEN UNLOCKING THEM.

PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR MAKES A LOUD BUZZING NOISE AND WILL NOT UNLOCK. CANNOT MANUALLY UNLOCK THE CAR AND UNABLE TO MANUALLY OR AUTOMATICALLY OPEN. UNSAFE CONDITION. PLEASE ASK THEM TO FIX.

THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST HAS DEPLOYED ON IT'S OWN WHILE PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY AND TURNED OFF. AFTER INSPECTION, THE PLASTIC BRACKETS THAT RETAIN THE METAL PIN THAT IS SUPPOSED TO SECURE THE HEADREST BROKE APART AND RELEASED THE HEADREST INTO A DEPLOYED POSITION. THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE BECOMES INJURED. THE HEADREST IS UNDER A SPRING LOADED FORCE THAT THE PLASTIC WAS NOT ENGINEERED TO RESTRAIN.

THE SLIDING DOOR LOCKS ARE MAKING A LOUD BUZZING SOUND AND NOT LOCKING PROPERLY WHEN I USE MY REMOTE TO LOCK THE VAN. I HAVE TO MANUALLY UNLOCK AND LOCK THE DOOR.

BOTH REAR SLIDING DOOR ACTUATORS HAVE FAILED WITHIN A MONTH. THE DOOR ACRE COMPLETELY UNUSABLE AND CANNOT BE OPEN

ALL OF A SUDDEN THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS FROZEN LOCKED AND WILL NOT OPEN. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR - FROM OUTSIDE AND INSIDE AND IT DOES NOT UNLOCK OR OPEN. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE - IF MY GRANDCHILDREN ARE SITTING IN THE MIDDLE AND BACK SEATS - HOW WILL THEY GET OUT IN AN EMERGENCY?

TRANSMISSION PUMP FAILED WHILE DRIVING AND RESULTING IN LOSS OF DRIVABILITY. VEHICLE BEGAN MAKING A WHINING SOUND WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE AND WE EXITED THE HIGHWAY. VEHICLE LOST ABILITY TO MOVE WHILE IN A PARKING LOT/DRIVE-THRU.

WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE BEGAN MAKING A VERY FAINT WHINING NOISE. I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, AND THEN THE VEHICLE HAD TROUBLE ACCELERATING. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MAKE IT UP THE DRIVEWAY; IT KEPT ROLLING BACKWARDS. AFTER READING OVER 100 COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, I'M PRETTY IRATE TO FIND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT MY VIN# ISN'T INCLUDED. THE WARRANTY ALSO COVERS THE POWERTRAIN UP TO 60K MILES AND I'M AT 61832, JUST OVER THE WARRANTY. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION ON A 4 YEAR OLD VEHICLE, WHEN NUMEROUS OTHERS ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME PROBLEM AND OTHER VEHICLES OF THE SAME MAKE/MODEL ARE UNDER RECALL.

WHEN EXITING THE FREEWAY, THE POWER GAVE OUT AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. HOWEVER, THE CAR DID NOT SHUT DOWN IT WAS STILL RUNNING BUT WAS UNABLE TO STEER. BOTH POWER SLIDING DOORS HAVE A VERY LOUD & ANNOYING BUZZ WHEN OPENING USING THE KEY FOB AS WELL AS WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHES A CERTAIN SPEED WHERE THE DOOR LOCKS AUTOMATICALLY LOCK.THE DIAGNOSIS IS DEFECTIVE POWER LOCK ACTUATORS. THE REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND IF NOT REPAIRED, WILL CAUSE THE POWER DOORS TO FREEZE IN A LOCKED POSITION CREATING A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. OUR SLIDING DOOR HAS SEIZED UP IN THE LOCK POSITION. WE ARE UNABLE TO OPEN IT AT ALL. AFTER READING HUNDREDS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SLIDING DOOR ACTUATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS ON ONE SIDE BUT NOW THE OTHER SIDE IS SOUNDING LIKE IT MAY GO AS WELL. HAVING DOORS WE CAN NOT OPEN IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE WE ARE COMFORTABLE DRIVING WITH OUR CHILDREN AGAIN. THE VEHICLE IS A 2016 DODGE CARAVAN AND JUST BROKE 60K MILES. AVERAGE FIX IS OVER $1100 AND THE MECHANICS ARE ALL TO FAMILIAR WITH THE ISSUE.

WE ARE CONCERNED AS IT IS A SIGN OF A FAULTY PART THAT COULD AT SOME POINT FAIL COMPLETELY CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD. MANY 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN OWNERS ARE COMPLAINING OF THIS EXACT SAME PHENOMENON. APPARENTLY A GEAR WITH PLASTIC TEETH IS WEARING DOWN AND A WORM GEAR IS GRINDING ON THE TEETH. THIS WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE TOTAL FAILURE. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS AS IT IS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM.

SLIDER DOORS WILL NOT OPEN MANUALLY. DOORS NO LONGER AUTO LOCK WHILE DRIVING HAS COMMENCED. REAR HATCH WILL NOT OPEN WITH FOB OCCASIONALLY.

THE LOCKS ON BOTH SLIDING SIDE DOORS HAVE STOPPED WORKING. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK AND THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HAS LOCKED AND WILL NOT UNLOCK. THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS UNUSABLE. THIS CONDITION IS UNSAFE AND IS DOCUMENTED BY MULTITUDES OF OTHER OWNERS. THESE LOCKS ARE NOT RELIABLE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. THE COST IS APPROXIMATELY $1000 A DOOR AND IS NOT REASONABLE FOR AN OWNER TO ABSORB WHEN IT IS AN OBVIOUS DESIGN DEFICENCY.

IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS THE BOTH SLIDING DOORS OF THE VAN HAVE NOT BEEN WORKING PROPERLY. TODAY SEPTEMBER 27, 2020 BOTH DOORS DO NOT OPEN AND STAY IN THE LOCK POSITION. IT IS ONLY ABLE TO OPEN BY PULLING THE LOCK TOWARDS UNLOCK POSITION AND THEN PULL THE HANDLE. THE KEY FOB AND THE OPEN DOOR BUTTONS IN THE CAR DO NOT WORK AND THERE IS A SLIGHT CLICK SOUND SOMETIMES BUT THE DOOR STAYS LOCKED. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AS IF WE WERE TO CRASH OUR CHILDREN AND OR PASSENGERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT THE CAR!!!!! SEEMS LIKE IT IS HAPPENING TO QUITE A FEW DODGE OWNERS.

THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ON THE RIGHT REAR SLIDING DOOR HAS STOPPED WORKING. MY DOOR IS STUCK ON UNLOCK, AND IS UNABLE TO BE LOCKED, MANUALLY OR OTHERWISE. MY DOOR ALSO MAKES A LOUD BUZZING NOISE EVERY TIME I PRESS THE UNLOCK BUTTON.

I HAD TO GO TO TOWN AT NIGHT TO GET GROCERIES FOR DINNER I PUT MY CHILD IN THE BACKSEAT. WE GOT TO THE GROCERY STORE I PARKED RIGHT AT THE STORE DOORS BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE WERE WALKING AROUND IN THE PARKING LOT, I GOT OUT OF MY VAN AND WENT TO GET MY CHILD OUT AND THE DOOR WAS LOCKED AND WOULD NOT UNLOCK. THE PEOPLE NOTICED ME STRUGGLING TO GET THE DOOR OPEN AND CAME TOWARDS US AND I JUST GOT BACK IN THE VAN AND LEFT. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD THAT DODGE SHOULD FIX! I PRAY NO ONE DIES DUE TO BEING LOCKED IN DURING AN EMERGENCY.

THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT OPEN AS THE LOCK APPEARS TO BE STUCK. CANNOT MANUALLY UNLOCK OR OPEN THE DOOR. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AS IT JUST RANDOMLY WOULD NOT OPEN ONE MORNING.

BOTH THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE SLIDING DOORS OF OUR 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SXT WILL NOT OPEN BECAUSE OF DEFECTIVE SOLENOID VALVES INSIDE THE DOORS. WE ARE UNABLE TO OPEN THE SLIDING DOORS ELECTRONICALLY (PUSH BUTTONS OR KEY FOBS) OR MANUALLY, DUE TO THE FAILED DOOR ACTUATOR VALVES. AS A RESULT, THE SLIDING DOORS ARE COMPLETELY INOPERABLE AND STUCK IN THE CLOSED POSITION. OCCUPANTS COULD EASILY BE TRAPPED IN AN EMERGENCY SINCE THEY WOULD HAVE TO CLIMB INTO THE FRONT SEAT, OR CRAWL OUT THE REAR HATCH TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. IN APRIL 2019 ONE SLIDING DOOR STAYED LOCKED THEN THE OTHER SLIDING DOOR STAYED LOCKED I REPORTED IT HERE AND WAS ASKED IF I HAD NOTIFIED CHRYSLER AND I HAD. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THOUGHT THEY WERE FIXED AT A COST OF $1062.00. IN APRIL 2020 I FOUND THE DRIVERS SLIDING DOOR WAS NOT LOCKING, YOU CAN OPEN IT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. TO ME THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD SINCE MY GRANDSON SITS BACK THERE AND LIKES TO PLAY WITH THE DOOR CONTROLS.

ON FRIDAY SEPT 4TH I WAS USING MY VEHICLE NORMALLY . AFTER TURNING IT OFF AT MY HOME AFTER GOING TO THE BANK, I ATTEMPTED TO TURN IT BACK ON TO GO TO WORK AND IT WOULDN'T MOVE INTO GEAR. THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION PUMP WASN'T GETTING FLUID TO THE TRANSMISSION AND SINCE IT FAILED OUR TRANSMISSION WAS DAMAGED. WE OUR NOW FACING NEEDING A NEW TRANSMISSION. I DON'T SEE HOW THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL THAT INCLUDES MY MAKE AND YEAR AND VEHICLE TYPE BUT EXCLUDES MY VIN. IF I HAD BEEN AWARE OF A RECALL A SMALL REPAIR COULD HAVE BEEN MADE. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS 1 OR BOTH REAR SLIDING DOORS WITH LOCK AND WON'T RELEASE FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE AFTER UNLOCKING WITH KEY FOB AND THEN TRIED MANUALLY UNLOCKING FROM INSIDE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES IN THE WINTER AND AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF DRIVING THE DOOR WILL OPEN AS I'M DRIVING. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN AND THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS NOW HAPPENING IN THE SUMMER AS WELL MAKING ME THINK IT WASN'T DUE TO FROZEN DOORS. THERE SHOULD ALWAYS BE A MANUAL WAY TO ENTER AND EXIT A VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT THEN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A SECOND OPINION AND HE ALSO DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION PUMP HAD FAILED AND THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS THEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED HER THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.

THE SLIDING DOOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAS FROZEN. THE DOOR IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND WILL NOT OPEN. IT WILL NOT OPEN WITH THE REMOTE BUTTONS OR MANUALLY. THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCK HAS JAMMED NOW TOO AND CAN NOT BE UNLOCKED OR OPENED. VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING OR RUNNING WHEN PROBLEMS WERE DISCOVERED.

THE RIGHT SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS MAKING A BUZZING SOUND AFTER THE VEHICLE IS PUT INTO PARK AND THE DOORS UNLOCK.

I LET OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR AND IT NEVER DOWN SHIFTED OR UPSHIFTED. IT JUST COASTED. WENT TO ACCELERATE AND THE ENGINE JUST REVVED THE RPMS HIGH. EVENTUALLY COASTED TO A SPOT TO GET OFF THE ROAD. CAN SMELL TRANSMISSION FLUID. HAVE NO LEAKS. NOW IT WON'T DO ANYTHING TRANSMISSION WISE. THE VAN WILL START UP AND IDLE FINE. JUST NOTHING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. *TR

IT APPEARS TO BE STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND ANY ATTEMPTS TO UNLOCK IT, EITHER WITH THE FOB, ALL DRIVER (DOOR & OVERHEAD) LOCK/OPEN BUTTONS, OR MANUALLY TRYING TO MOVE THE LOCK, FAIL TO RELEASE IT. THIS OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IN PARK, IN OUR DRIVEWAY, WHEN I PUSHED THE OVERHEAD "DOOR OPEN" BUTTON IN ORDER TO GET MY CHILDREN (2 WEEKS OLD AND 3 YEARS OLD) OUT OF THEIR CAR SEATS. THANKFULLY WE WERE NOT INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT REQUIRING IMMEDIATE EVACUATION AT THE TIME THAT THIS OCCURRED. STILL, I HAD TO GO IN VIA THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR, UNINSTALL MY NEWBORN INFANT'S CAR SEAT, AND LEAVE HER ON THE GROUND IN ORDER TO ACCESS MY TODDLER'S SEAT AND GET HIM OUT. I'M HORRIFIED TO THINK WHAT A DANGEROUS SITUATION THIS COULD BECOME IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY, OR IF BOTH DOORS WERE TO FAIL. THIS HAS RENDERED THE VAN UNUSABLE FOR MY FAMILY, AS GETTING EVERYONE IN AND OUT QUICKLY AND SAFELY IS NOW IMPOSSIBLE. *TR
