For 2-3 days prior to incident, upon shifting up a gear and disengaging clutch, RPMs were higher than expected (noticeable revving sound when hitting gas pedal). Wednesday 12/08/21, the vehicle was not maintaining speed on the highway and engine was revving like it was in too low a gear. Vehicle stopped accelerating and lost speed while driving on highway forcing me to pull over and forcing a tractor trailer to swerve around me. Vehicle was disabled at that time. No warning lights were displayed on dashboard. Frederick Auto Repair in Frederick, MD says clutch needs to be replaced despite the vehicle only having ~53,300 miles. Initially thought it would be part of Safety Recall S34/16V-302 but this appears to be for a different model and my vehicle's VIN is not included.

Since the car was purchased, the electrical system seems to have an issue that no dealership has been able to diagnose or fix. The forward collision warning system will intermittently turn itself off upon starting or even while driving. The car also frequently blows passenger side lights. More recently at about 67,000 miles, the check engine and transmission warning lights came on while highway driving 2.5 hrs away from home. The car has been in and out of the shop at least 3 times over the past month and a half to try and fix the issue but they have been unable to determine what is wrong with it. They said they found metal in the transmission and therefore replaced the torque converter and valve body. However, the issue persists. A burning smell can now be detected when driving. Car is going into the shop for a 3rd time to try and fix it - leaving owner without a vehicle for another undetermined amount of time and many miles away from home (this time >500 miles away from home). The car supposedly passed all previous recalls - cooling fan, oil consumption, etc. All regular service/maintenance intervals have been kept by the owner.

Summary

The radio frequency hub has failed or shorted out from possibly water leaking into vehicle. This has caused the car to randomly stop while driving and other times to not start. The car completely stops locking the cars braking system and not allowing the doors to open. The car that has stopped working while Driving and has been stuck locations unable to start. Diagnostics said the car was fine until it has completely shorted out which has made the car unusable and no diagnostics can be run. When the car was brought into the last dealership they were familiar with this problem due to several other vehicles with the same problem being brought in. The mechanics states that this is a problem from water leaking into a part on the trunk hatch that is supposed to be sealed. There have been several cars repaired at the dealer and currently other cars currently waiting for a back ordered part to try to remedy this problem.

Summary

1 year after purchase the car started having electrical issues, hard gear shifting, turns off or fails to start on first try, car has been serviced at South Miami FIAT since the issues started. The dealer could not identify the issues and told me that they would leave a warranty order open in the event that the warranty expired and the issue was not addressed. The dealer is basically not assisting. I have recently taken my car in for the oil consumption test; at first it failed to later be told that it's working just fine. Problems do no fix themselves and I feel that the dealer is not being totally honest with the situation. I am aware that the consumer is on the losing end of this story, but I will say that I along with many others have had a less than desirable experience with FIAT vehicles. Can someone please respond regarding these issues. I know that the past 2 years have been strenuous on all, but this is my last effort to find a solution to this matter. I have reviewed many other owners with almost identical issues with their cars. Thank you for your attention

Currently the car won’t shift gears out of park. I had it towed to dealer to have it diagnosed and then to another mechanic for a second opinion. There were no warning lights and transmission fluid is not low. It has been a year since it happened (October 2020) and it’s parked because replacing transmission is 6k according to dealer. Manufacturer has not recalled my specific vin but the dealer has told me there are thousands of cars of this model recalled for same exact issue already. This car also the year prior turned off and stayed in park twice. Once at a stop light and then once in park but both of those two times it resolved itself. I took it to the dealer but they couldn’t find anything at the time because it has gone back to working. This is in Georgia. Additionally, the lights go out approximately every 6 months. It’s not fuse or bulbs so I’m forever changing lights. This of course not being the bigger issue. The dealer can’t find what’s causing this but we know for sure the transmission issue is one that’s been recalled in other VINS of this year, make, and model.

I am being notified by Chrysler Fiat of a problem with oil consumption on my FIAT 500X. Since all the FIAT dealerships near me have closed, Chrysler is requiring me to: 1. Travel 1.5 hours to dealership. 2. Have an oil change performed at my expense. 3. Travel 1.5 hours home from dealership 4. Drive 1500 miles. 4. Travel 1.5 hours return to the dealership to verify oil consumption. If excessive consumption, engine will be replaced. (?) As stated by Customer Service. 5. Travel 1.5 hours home from dealership. They will not: A. Reimburse my time (8 hours total) approximately 6 hours drive time and 2 hours wait time. B. Pay for the oil change. Within the last month I have had an oil change. C. Pay for fuel for these trips, approximately 51 miles each way. Total of 200 miles. This is a manufacturing issue. All incurred expenses should be paid by Chrysler.

FIAT RECALL ASSISTANCE VERY HELPFUL AND GOT ME THE REPLACEMENT PART AND SERVICED AT LOCAL DEALERSHIP. RECALL NEVER SHOWED UP UNDER NHTSA EVEN TO THIS DAY. THE REPLACEMENT PART SEEMED TO CURE ALL EXCEPT FOR THE ODD IDLING SOUND. IT'S AS THOUGH CAR IS GOING TO STALL ANY SECOND, ALMOST A 'KNOCKING' IN ENGINE AND SLIGHT SHAKING CAN BE FELT. EVERY SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2016 FIAT 500X EASY AWD IN 2017, I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH MY HATCH LATCHING MECHANISM. I'LL BE DRIVING ALONG AND IT WILL OPEN ON IT'S OWN, WHICH IS DISCONCERTING ESP WHEN I HAVE STOWED SOMETHING AND THIS HAPPENS ON A FWY, MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN FOR THOSE DRIVING BEHIND ME! DEALER COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG, THOUGH NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS CONTINUE TO BE LOGGED ABOUT IT. THEN EARLIER THIS YEAR, I WENT TO OPEN THE HATCH AND THE RUBBER PUSH-BUTTON FELL OUT. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT BACK IN THERE BUT THAT ONLY TOOK A PASSENGER SLAMMING THE HATCH SHUT FOR ALL OF THE PARTS TO FALL OUT IN TO THE STREET. NOW IT WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE NOR THE INSIDE. CALLED DEALER WHO REFUSED TO GIVE ME A BALL-PARK PRICE BUT DID SAY WHEN I DO BRING IT IN, I'LL BE CHARGED A $165 DIAGNOSTIC FEE WHETHER I HAVE IT WORKED ON OR NOT AND THAT FEE DOESN'T EVEN GO TOWARDS THE ACTUAL REPAIR/REPLACEMENT/LABOR COSTS. SERIOUSLY? I HAVE TO PAY THEM $165 JUST TO DIAGNOSE WHAT WE BOTH ALREADY KNOW WHAT IT NEEDS, BUT WOULD TAKE THEM ALL OF 5 MIN TO CONFIRM & THEN TAKES 5 DAYS FOR THE PART TO COME WHICH I'LL BE KEPT IN THE DARK FOR THAT COST UNTIL HE HANDS ME THE BILL? SINCE WHEN DO SERVICE TECHS GET PAID THE FULL HOUR FOR 5 MIN OF LOOKING - NOT DOING ANYTHING AND THEN NOT EVEN APPLY IT TOWARDS THE ACTUAL DOING?! IS THIS LEGAL?! THEY SHOULD NAME THE FEE MORE APPROPRIATELY THEN, THE JUST BECAUSE WE CAN FEE. I JUST HAPPENED TO FIND THE RECALL ONLINE WHILE TRYING TO FIND WHAT CODE MEANT. CALLED THE FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILE (FCA) RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER THIS TIME INSTEAD OF DEALER AND THEY LOOKED UP MY VIN AND FOUND IT IS ONE THAT IS AFFECTED AND SCHEDULED THE APPT FOR ME WITH MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE DEALER INSTRUCTION ON THE RECALL SPECIFICALLY SHOWS WHICH FAN MODULES HAVE BEEN AFFECTED (BU /FB MODULES ONLY) & WHAT TO LOOK FOR YET THE DEALER NEVER BOTHERED THE FIRST TIME, JUST DENIED ME OVER THE PHONE. WHO KNOWS WHAT KIND OF DAMAGE IT'S CAUSED AFTER ALL THIS TIME AND ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS POP THE HOOD AND CHECK IF FAN MODULE HAS A PLASTIC HEAT SHIELD OR A METAL HEAT SHIELD WITH METAL TOP HAT IN CENTER OF MOTOR INSTEAD OF A PLASTIC CIRCLE IN CENTER OF MOTOR. THIS WOULD HAVE PREVENTED WHERE I AM NOW, UNABLE TO WORK (I AM A RIDESHARE DRIVER), LOSING MONEY AFTER AN ALREADY COSTLY PANDEMIC. NHTSA SITE DOESN'T SHOW THIS RECALL YET WITH VIN IN SYSTEM?

YESTERDAY AFTER I FINALLY GOT IT STARTED, SEVERAL LIGHTS APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD, PARK BRAKE FAILURE LIGHT, TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT AND THE ESC LIGHT. WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE MODE, A LIGHT WARNING ME THE DRIVE MODE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE IDLES ROUGH. ONCE I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND THE VEHICLE JUMPED INTO NEUTRAL. THE BACKUP CAMERA HAS STAYED ON BEFORE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THE FIAT DASHBOARD HAD NO WARNING LIGHTS ON, SUCH AS CHECK ENGINE, OIL LOW, OR ANY OTHER INDICATION THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. THE DEALERSHIP'S RESPONSE WAS IT NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. THERE WAS NO ADDRESSING THE FACT THAT MY CAR WAS BURNING THROUGH OIL AT AN ACCELERATED RATE AND THAT THE CAR ITSELF TURNING OFF AND LOCKING UP WHILE IN OPERATION IS "NOT A DEFECT" OR "A SAFETY HAZARD". I SPOKE WITH THE FIAT DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AS THE FACTORY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. THE FACTORY WARRANTY EXPIRED 1/1/2020. 127 DAYS LATER, MY CAR HAS THIS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS DEFECT. FCA CLAIMS THAT NO BUY BACK OPTION AVAILABLE DUE TO THE WARRANTY EXPIRATION. THEY OFFER TO HAVE SERVICE ATTEMPT TO FIX THE CAR BUT THE ISSUE IS WITH THE ENGINE, NOT JUST CHANGING THE OIL. THERE IS NO OTHER ENGINE THAT CAN BE PLACED IN THIS CAR TO COMPLETELY FIX MY VEHICLE. IF ANOTHER TIGERSHARK ENGINE IS PLACED IN MY CAR, THERE IS NO WAY TO DETERMINE IF IT IS DEFECTIVE UNTIL THE CAR SHUTS OFF AGAIN UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING WHICH CAN RESULT IN A FATAL ACCIDENT OR INJURY. FCA'S RESOLUTION IS TO CONTINUOUSLY BANDAID THE SITUATION. THEY ARE NOT OFFERING TO BUY BACK THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE MANUFACTURER DEFECT. FIRST I HAD ONLY ABOUT 25000 MILES AND IT SHUTS OFF WHILE TURNING IN A 4 WAY INTERSECTION, FIAT PLACE HAD ME TAKE IT IN JUST TO SAY IT NEEDED AN UPDATE. SECOND TIME I STALLED IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WITH MY CHILDREN INSIDE. CALLED THE DEALER, SAID IT NEEDED AN UPDATE. 3RD TIME HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE SAME DAY. DEALER HAD IT FOR TWO WEEKS AND SAID IT WAS A NEW UPDATE THAT CAUSED MY FIAT TO TURN OFF COMPLETELY. 4TH TIME HAPPENED WHILE I DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 45MPH AND DEALER HAD ME BRING IT IN AND SAID IT WAS CAUSED BY MY KEY FOB BATTERY ( LITERALLY JUST CHANGED THE BATTERIES THE DAY BEFORE). ALL BS FROM THE DEALERS MECHANICS. SO I CALLED FIAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME I SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT ALL, I SHOULD RETURN THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THEM RUN TEST. IN DECEMBER 2018, THE VEHICLE'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A "DRIVE MODE UNAVAILABLE" MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN. THE LOCAL FIAT DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THAT THE COOLING FAN NEEDED REPLACING BECAUSE IT HAD BLOWN A FUSE. IN JANUARY 2018, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WITH OUR CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SUDDENLY TURNED OFF. WE TRIED TURNING THE VEHICLE ON SEVERAL TIMES BUT IT WOULD NOT COME ON. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE VEHICLE FINALLY TURNED ON BUT NO WARNING MESSAGES WERE DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. THIS VEHICLE IS DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY JUST ABOUT EVERY DAY AND MANY TIMES WITH OUR CHILDREN AND WE WERE VERY FORTUNATE THAT THE CAR STALLED ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AND NOT WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. WE IMMEDIATELY REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO FIAT (CASE # 57913062) AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A FIAT DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS HAVING A LOW LEVEL OF ENGINE OIL EVEN THOUGH IT HAD BEEN THERE A FEW WEEKS BEFORE AND WENT THROUGH THEIR "MULTI-POINT" INSPECTION. THEY RECOMMENDED AN OIL CHANGE WITH AN ADDITIVE AND A FUEL INJECTION CLEANING WHICH COST US $600. TWO WEEKS LATER, WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE AS IF IT WAS ABOUT TO STALL, WOULD NOT SPEED PAST 60MPH, AND SMOKE WAS COMING OUT OF THE HOOD. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A "DRIVE MODE UNAVAILABLE" MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN. WE TOOK THE FIRST HIGHWAY EXIT AVAILABLE AND PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND CALLED FOR TOWING. WE REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO FIAT ONCE AGAIN (CASE # 58008152) AND REQUESTED FOR IT TO BE ESCALATED DUE THE FREQUENT INCIDENTS AND OUR CONCERN FOR SAFETY. I THEN TOOK IT BACK, THE MECHANIC CHECKED MY ALTERNATOR WHICH WAS FINE AND PUTTING OUT CORRECT AC AND DC VOLTAGE. HE TOLD ME HE CALLED FIAT AND THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS BEING AN ISSUE BUT DON'T KNOW WHY. THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN ON BACK ROADS (SO GOING UNDER AND UP TO 45MPH) THE VERY FIRST TIME THE LIGHT WENT OUT. THE 'R' AND THE 'D' BLINKED STEADILY. I CALLED AND ALERTED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT BREWBAKER DEALERSHIP, BUT THE ONLY AVAILABILITY WAS THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. BY FATE, THE CAR BEGAN TO OPERATE BETTER. FOR NEARLY A WEEK, THE IGNITION STARTED TO IMPROVE ALTHOUGH IT WOULD TAKE TWO TRIES. ON THE MORNING OF OCTOBER 29, THE SAME PROBLEMS REOCCURED FROM OCTOBER 19. INSTEAD OF GOING TO WORK, I DROVE THE CAR STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY KEPT IT OVERNIGHT FOR SERVICE PERSONNEL TO ANALYZE THE PROBLEM. CAR HAS APPROX 26K MILES. DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS THIS MORNING AND WARNING CAME ON "SERVICE ENGINE. DRIVE MODE UNAVAILABLE". I HAD THE SUN ROOF OPEN AS I WAS DRIVING AND I KEPT THINKING I WAS SMELLING A HOT OR BURNING SMELL, BUT COULDN'T BE SURE. I POPPED THE HOOD WHEN I GOT HOME AND DIDN'T SMELL ANYTHING OBVIOUS. DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS RELATED, BUT JUST HAD IT IN FOR OIL CHANGE A WEEK AGO - THEY NEVER RESET THE OIL CHANGE LIGHT (WHICH WASN'T COMING ON BEFORE OIL CHANGE - THOUGH LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT WAS COMING ON -- NOW LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT IS OFF, BUT OIL CHANGE LIGHT IS ON!). AGAIN, DON'T KNOW IF IT IS RELATED BUT WANT TO GIVE ALL PIECES OF THE PUZZLE. ALSO MY ENGINE SHUTS OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE DRIVING OCCASIONALLY. VERY SCARY! TOOK IT IN TO FIAT AND THEY GAVE ME A LAME EXCUSE -- IT JUST NEEDED SOME UPDATES! TO ME THAT IS JUST UNACCEPTABLE -- WHAT IF I HAD BEEN GOING 70MPH ON THE INTERSTATE AND THIS HAPPENED!? I ASKED THEM THAT EXACT QUESTION AT FIAT AND THEY JUST SHRUGGED THEIR SHOULDERS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND IT IS SHOCKING TO ME THAT FIAT IS NOT TAKING IT MORE SERIOUSLY! AFTER THE "UPDATE" THAT THEY PERFORMED ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO -- ALL SEEMED FINE UNTIL ABOUT A MONTH AGO. CAR STALLED AS I WAS DRIVING -- SEEMED TO HAPPEN ONLY WHEN I WAS GOING OVER A SPEED BUMP OR A ROUGH ROAD. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE THE FIRST TIME -- FIRST TIME I WAS ON A SMOOTH, FLAT ROAD. WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY, THE A/C ABRUPTLY STOPPED WORKING AND THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY OVERHEATED. THE FAN ASSEMBLY HAD FAULTED, THE ISSUE WAS CORRECTED IN OCTOBER 2017 AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS HELD FOR 30 DAYS BECAUSE THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE NEW ISSUE CAME UP ON START UP, THE A/C WAS NOT COOLING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I DROPPED OFF THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT IT IS A SENSOR IN THE RIGHT REAR VIEW MIIRROR THAT IS CAUSING THE A/C MALFUNCTION, THEY INITIALLY THOUGHT IT WAS THE FAN ASSEMBLY THAT HAD FAULTED AGAIN. THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR (3) WEEKS. THEY SAID IT WAS A NATIONWIDE SHORTAGE ON THE PART (AGAIN). MY QUESTION IS SHOULD THIS BE CAUSE FOR CONCERN? WHY WOULD THERE BE A NATIONWIDE SHORTAGE ON A SINGLE PART? AND IS THIS CONNECTED IN ANYWAY TO THE FAN ASSEMBLY FAILURE. I LOVE MY FIAT, BUT I DONT NEED THE ISSUES, THIS VEHICLE IS BARELY (2) YEARS OLD.

CAR WAS GETTING OIL CHANGE AT ANOTHER FACILITY. THE WORKERS NOTICED THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE CAR WAS MELTED AND DEFORMED. THERE WAS MAJOR OIL OR OTHER FLUIDS LEAKING. CAR WAS BROUGHT IN AND FIXED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. IT WAS FIXED INCORRECTLY AND HAD TO BE TOWED IN AFTER BEING FIXED. THE CAR STOPPED DRIVING. NO ONE WAS ABLE TO TELL ME WHY THE CAR WAS LIKE THAT AND WHY IT WAS FIXED INCORRECTLY AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THEN SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, THE CAR HAD ANOTHER INCIDENT AND HAD TO BE TOWED IN. THE DRIVESHAFT WAS BROKEN AND REPLACED. THESE TWO MAJOR COMPONENTS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE REPLACED IN A CAR LESS THAN 2 YEARS OR 20,000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT OFFERED ANY CONCESSION OR EXPLANATION. THE MANAGER EVENTUALLY TOLD ME THE CAR WAS "DEFORMED". I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR. THE CAR WAS NOT SHOWING SYMPTOMS WITH THE FIRST INCIDENT ONLY LEAKED FLUID. THE SECOND TIME WITH THE DRIVE SHAFT IT WAS IN MOTION.

LUCKILY, THE CAR JERKED BACKWARD IN TIME WHEN THE COMPUTER FINALLY ENGAGED THE GEAR. THE DELAY IN THE COMPUTER RECOGNIZING THE GEAR IS COMMON. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE ALL SOFTWARE UPDATES FOR THE TRANSMISSION, THE COMPUTER FREQUENTLY LAGS IN SHIFTING TO THE APPROPRIATE GEAR. WHEN IT DOES SHIFT, THERE IS NOTICEABLE JERK.

MY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. THERE ARE CONSTANT DELAYS IN SHIFTING. UPON ANY ACCELERATION, MY VEHICLE WILL FAIL TO SHIFT FOR UP TO SEVERAL MINUTES. DURING THAT TIME THE ENGINE WILL REV UP TO 600 RPMS BEFORE FINALLY SHIFTING. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE QUICKLY WITH EVERY GEAR. ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE TO PASS OTHER CARS OR SPEED UP QUICKLY. ALL SHIFTING IS CLUNKY AND VEHICLE OFTEN SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTS WHILE DRIVING ON AN OPEN HIGHWAY AND MAINTAINING A SPEED OF 55MPH TO 60MPH. ALSO DOWNSHIFTS SUDDENLY DURING NORMAL STREE DRIVING. VEHICLE WILL NOT GO ANY FASTER THAN 75MPH-EVEN ON A STEEP DOWNSLOPE. I CAN FLOOR THE GAS PEDAL AND CAR SIMPLY WILL NOT GO FASTER THAN 75MPH. I MUST SWITCH TO SPORT MODE TO GO ANY FASTER, BUT THEN AVERAGE RPMS ARE 300-350 AND VEHICLE USES TOO MUCH GAS. I HAVE OWNED IT ONLY 30 DAYS. PURCHASED FROM A DEALER. ONE PREVIOUS OWNER. ONLY 28000 MILES ODO. IDLES SOMEWHAT ROUGH AND SLIGHT KNOCKING HEARD FROM ENGINE WHILE OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE. ABOUT 50 MILES LATER THEY TURNED OFF ON THEIR OWN, AND ANOTHER 20 MILES LATER THEY CAME BACK ON AGAIN. THE CAR SEEMS TO DRIVE NORMALLY BUT THE DIFFERENT DRIVE MODES SUCH AS "TRACTION +" AREN'T ACCESSIBLE. IT'S BEEN BETWEEN 60-80 DEGREES OUTSIDE & CLEAR ON EACH OCCASION. VEHICLE GOES INTO "LIMP MODE" ANYTIME WHEELS SLIP, UNTILL COMPUTER CLEARS NO THROTTLE OR MOTION, VEHICLE IS INOPERABLE FOR OVER 5+ SECONDS AND THEN ACCELERATED AT WHATEVER POSITION THROTTLE IS AT. DEALER AND MECHANICS SAY ALL NEW FIATS 2 AND 4WHEEL DRIVE ALL HAVE THIS ISSUE AND THEY CANNOT FIX. I PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC, WHEEL SLIPPED AND WENT INTO LIMP IN MIDDLE OF LANES UNTILL IT CLEARED AND TOOK OFF AT HALF THROTTLE AND ALMOST GOT SMEARED BY TRAFFIC. DEALER SAYS ALL FIATS HAVE SAME PROBLEM AND ONLY SOLUTION IS TO GIVE A LOT OF LEAD TIME BEFORE ENTERING TRAFFIC AND TRY NOT TO ACCELERATE AS TO MAKE WHEELS SLIP WHEN ROAD CONDITIONS MAY CAUSE SLIPPING. THIS HAS HAPPEND PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND WHILE ON RAMPS, HILLS. IF ON CURVE OR HILL VEHICLE WILL GO INT "LIMP MODE" AND WILL JUST SLIDE DOWN HILLS AND THROUGH CURVES!!!

MY 500X THAT I PURCHASED IN JULY OF 2016 HAS SHIFTED GEARS TO THE + SYMBOL 4 DIFFERENT TIMES WHILE IM DRIVING. IT STARTED IN SEPT BUT I THOUGHT I HAD IT A BUMP OR SOMETHING. IT HAPPENED AGAIN 3 TIMES I DID GO BACK TO THE BETTENHAUSER DEALER FOR SERVICE 3 TIMES AND THEY SAID I HAD TO NOT TURN THE CAR OFF AND GET TO THEM BEFORE THEY CLOSED BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT SEE CODES TO THE PROBLEM .AT THIS POINT IN TIME THEY GAVE ME A LOANER TO DRIVE FOR ABOUT A WEEK WHILE THEY DROVE THE CAR. THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING. I TOOK MY CAR BACK 2 WEEKS AGO AND I DRIVE WITH A PRAYER THAT IT DOESN,T HAPPEN AGAIN WHILE IM IN TRAFFIC AS IT DID BEFORE SCARING ME TO DEATH. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS. I SEE NO RECALLS ON THIS PROBLEM SO FAR BUT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY CAR. THANK YOU. ALL THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS IN TRAFFIC ON THE CITY STREETS OF CHICAGO. Summary

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee and 2015 Chrysler 200, Jeep Renegade, RAM ProMaster, and 2016 Fiat 500X vehicles equipped with 9-speed automatic transmissions. The transmission sensor clusters may have insufficient crimps in the transmission wire harness, and as a result, the transmission may unexpectedly shift to neutral. On August 29, 2016 Chrysler added the 2016 Fiat 500X vehicles to this recall.
