The rear back up camera has stopped working properly and most of the time it's not working at all making it a safety risk maneuvering in reverse when children or other pedestrians are around.
I purchased the car a week ago from a dealership and sadly that the car was as is. At the time nothing was wrong with the car, and 2 days later after the car APIM system started malfunctioning, I restarted the system and that did not work. I took to a dealership and they did the same thing I did and it is still the same. Dealership stated it could be the APIM malfunctioning on the car and it was going to cost me $900 to get it fixed. I haven't had the car for a week and things are already going bad. No warning light appeared before the incident happened and nobody was hurt.
WATER PUMP FAILURE AT 56.965 MILES AND GEAR OIL LEAK
AFTER DRIVING FOR BETWEEN 50 AND 100 MILES WHEN I STOP AND BEFORE I PUT IT IN PARK THE ENGINE ACCELERATES WITHOUT PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR I HAVE TO PUT IN PARK HOLDING THE BRAKE AFTER A SECOND OR TWO IT GOES BACK TO IDLE
THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE FAILED, RENDERING THE VEHICLE UNABLE TO START, STEER, OR BRAKE PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED BUT NOT MOVING. IT STALLED AND WAS UNABLE TO START AGAIN. I KNOW THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR EARLIER MODELS OF THE SAME VEHICLE. I HAVE REPAIR INVOICES, BUT AM CURRENTLY UNABLE TO UPLOAD THEM TO THE WEBSITE.
MY FUEL SYSTEM WENT OFF ALL KINDS OF ERROR COMING ON CAR STOPS WHILE RUNNING ON THE HIGHWAY
CAR ELECTRONIC STEERING STOPPED AND I COULD NOT TURN THE WHEELS.
AIR BAG LIGHT ON. FAIL INSPECTION RCM BOOD5 & B1202
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL EACH TIME IT WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN ACCELERATED AND THEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE LOUD NOISE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED BUT COULD NOT FINE A FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT IT COULD PROBABLY BE THE SUSPENSION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CUTTER FORD, INC, 98-015 KAMEHAMEHA HWY, AIEA, HI 96701, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE OIL WAS LEAKING SOMEWHERE AND IT WAS VERY DARK. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE TIRE SENSOR WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000. *DT THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TRADED IN. *JS
I TOOK MY CAR TO DEAN SELLERS FORD WITH A PREMATURE RIGHT REAR BEARING FAILURE THAT WAS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY ON MY 2016 TAURUS SHO. WHILE AT THE DEALER, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE TOE REAR TOE LINK REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. ON JUNE 12, 2019, FORD MEDIA CENTER ISSUED ISSUE A MEMO "FORD MOTOR COMPANY ISSUES FOUR SAFETY RECALLS" WHICH INDICATED THAT THE "AFFECTED VEHICLES INCLUDE 2010-2017 FORD TAURUS VEHICLES BUILT AT THE CHICAGO ASSEMBLY PLANT, JULY 2, 2009-MAY 25, 2017." THIS INCLUDED MY 2016 TAURUS SHO, BUT THE DEALER HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE RECALL AND HAS NOW CHARGED ME FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE RECALL ITEM. ALSO, I'M CONCERNED THAT THE REPLACEMENT TOE LINK WAS NOT THE HARDENED REPLACEMENT PART AND WAS THE ORIGINAL OEM PART THAT IS PRONE TO FAILURE. THE FAILURE OF THIS PART CAN BE CATASTROPHIC AND CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.
OIL LEAK FROM TURBO LINE, WAS SHOWING RECALL AFFECTED 2016 FORD TAURUS SHO REFERENCE 16S463 BUT WHEN I CALL DEALER AND LOOK UP VIN MY CAR IS NOT SHOWING TO BE INCLUDED. HOWEVER, I KEEP GETTING A BURNING OIL SMELL AND CAR IN SHOP RIGHT NOW AND OIL LINE THAT GOES TO ONE OF THE TURBO CHARGES IS LEAKING AND FIRE HAZARD. *TR
I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN. EVERY PROBLEM YOU COULD IMAGINE WITH THIS CAR ONLY AY 69K MILES AFTER FORDS PATHETIC POWERTRIAN WARRANTY EXPIRES. I BOUGHT THIS CAR AT 66K MILES SPENT 20 GRAND AFTER TAX AND ONLY MADE ONE PAYMENT BESIDES THE DOWN PAYMENT. FIRST OFF THE PTU FAILED ON THIS VEHICLE FAILED AFTER 2K MILES WITCH IS A REALLY COMMON PROBLEM ON THIS VEHICLE WITCH WAS A $900 PART THOUGH FORD. HAD THIS REPLACED AND NOT ONLY 7 DAYS LATER AND BARELY 1K MILES THE TRANSMISSION FAILED CAUSING THE MOTOR TO OVERHEAT DAMAGING THE MOTOR.. NOW I HAVE A $400+ PAYMENT ON A VEHICLE THAT NEEDS OVER $9000 IN REPAIRS BETWEEN THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION AND THE DEALER WONT FIX IT BECAUSE I DIDNT BUY AND EXTENDED WARRANTY AND ITS OUT OF THE FACTORY 60K WARRANTY. NOTE THIS IS A 2016 (PERFORMANCE SEDAN) (SHO) AND THIS HAS BEEN THE MOST UNRELIABLE CAR I HAVE EVER BOUGHT. I WOULD LIKE TO NOTE I ALWAYS BUY FORD AND HAVE HAD ISSUES HERE AND THERE BUT NOTHING LIKE THIS BETWEEN BREAK DOWNS I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO DRIVE THE CAR 30 DAYS AND NOW OWN 6 YEARS WORTH OF PAYMENTS... THKS CAR HAS LITERALLY BROKE ME AND FORD WON'T DO ANYTHING TO MAKE IT RIGHT THERE WAS CLEARLY SOME SORT OF MANUFACTURE DEFECT WITH THIS CAR AND IT SHOULD BE RECALLED I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND BUY THIS CAR WITHOUT A SERIOUS WARRANTY BECAUSE I KNOW SOME PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD BETTER LUCK WITH THIS CAR IN EARLIER MODELS WITH THE SAME DRIVETRAIN BUT MINE CAN'T BE THE ONLY 16 SHO THAT HAVE HAD THESE PROBLEMS AND IM SURE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN LEFT IN HARDSHIP ON NOW NOT HAVING A CAR AND HAVE 20K IN AUTO LOAN DEBT. ALL THIS HAPPENED UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS CAR WAS BUILT TO BE ABLE TO USE ON THE TRACK AND COMPLETELY FAILED UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED AND HOPE FORD WILL RECALL THIS MAJOR ISSUE IN THERE "PERFORMANCE VEHICLES"
I WAS APPROACHING A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION AND WHEN I APPLIED MY BRAKES THE CAR ACTUALLY ACCELERATED. I WAS ABLE TO STOP BEFORE HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I PROCEEDED ABOUT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD AND AS I WAS TURNING INTO A STRIP MALL THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AGAIN. THIS TIME OUT OF CONTROL. I WHEN THROUGH THE TURN AND HIT A LARGE CURB AND THEN RAN INTO THE GUARD RAIL. I RIPPED THE GUARD RAIL OFF AND STILL PROCEEDED FOR AN ADDITIONAL 150 FEET ON THE GRASS BEFORE THE VEHICLE FINALLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. IT SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COMPUTER DID NOT RECOGNIZE THE KEY FOB AND THE "NO KEY DETECTED" INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL DEALERS, INCLUDING AUTONATION FORD BURLESON (817-522-3224, LOCATED AT 850 NORTH BURLESON BOULEVARD, BURLESON, TX 76028) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REQUESTED THAT THE CONTACT RECORD THE FAILURE. THE VIDEO WAS NOT SENT AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.
DEALERSHIP HAS IDENTIFIED THE REARS BRAKES ARE IN 3MM OR LESS ON THIS VEHICLE WHICH SHOULD BE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE ON A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM THAT HAS 5MM OR GREATER ON THE FRONT PADS.
THE POWER STEERING ON THIS VEHICLE LOCKED UP MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED AT LOW SPEEDS BUT IF IT HAD HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THEIR WOULD HAVE BEEN NO WAY TO STEER THE VEHICLE SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
THE POWER STEERING ON THIS UNIT FAILED MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE. I WAS ADVISED THAT THIS ISSUED OCCURRED AT LOW SPEEDS AND AS A RESULT NO ACCIDENT WAS REPORTED. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. DO NOT HAVE THE INVOICE FOR THIS REPAIR AT THE TIME OF SENDING THIS COMPLAINT. IF YOU NEED IT I WILL GET IT FOR YOU.
DURING SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN FOUND CRACKED COOLANT TANK. CONSISTENT PROBLEM ON 2016 TAURUS AND EXPLORER. CRACKED COOLANT TANK PRESENTS RISK OF FIRE, SKIN BURNS, ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SHORTS AND PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURE.
THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE DOOR KEEPS SLIPPING OUT OF PLACE. THE DOOR HAS DIFFICULTIES OPENING AS IT CATCHES AGAINST THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND MAKES A SNAPPING SOUND. THE DOOR HAS ALREADY BEEN FIXED TWICE BY THE DEALERSHIP BUT WE WERE INFORMED THAT THIS IS A KNOW PROBLEM WITH THE NEWER VEHICLES AND THEY DIDN'T THINK THIS WOULD BE RESOLVED. MAY LAW ENFORCEMENT VEHICLES HAVE BEEN AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP AND THE LADY WHO WORKS AT FORD SAID THEY HAVE HAD TO FIX A LOT OF VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF FIXING THE DOOR GOING FORWARD AS WE HAVE HAD THE CAR MORE THAN A YEAR. I CALLED FORD TO REPORT THE ISSUE AND MY CONCERN OVER THE ABILITY TO GET MY SON OUT OF THE BACK SEAT IN A CASE OF EMERGENCY. I ASKED THEM TO NOTE A RECALL AND ALL I GOT BACK WAS AN EMAIL STATING THEY WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF THE FIX. THEY NEVER ADDRESSED MY CONCERN ABOUT SAFETY AND THE ABILITY OF THE DOOR TO FUNCTION. THE DOOR HAS NOT EXPERIENCED ANY STRESS AND ONLY NORMAL OPEN AND SHUT. THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENTS BUT THE DOOR KEEPS SLIPPING OUT OF ALIGNMENT. THE VEHICLE WENT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE CORRECTED MARCH 21 AND APRIL 11TH.
ON JULY 27 WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HWY AT 75 THE CAR SHUT OFF MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND IT SCARED THE H OUT OF HER AND ME I TOOK IT OUT OF DRIVE AND TRIED TO START IT ,I TRIED THREE TIME FINALLY IT STARTED. NO TROUBLE TILL YESTERDAY AT THE AIRPORT GOING UP THE PARKING RAMP IT QUIT AGAIN I WAS DRIVING I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE CAUSE WE WERE GOING UP HILL AND TRIED TO START IT TOOK THREE TIMES AND IT STARTED UP AGAIN .WE DROVE HOME 100 MILES NO TROUBLE. I AM TAKING IT IN TOMORROW TO THE DEALER. JUST THOUGHT I NEEDED TO TELL SOMEONE. I CASE SOMETHING EVER HAPPENED TO US . CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I CAN DO IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN I AM GONNA SELL THE CAR !!
I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DUE TO A STRONG SMELL OF PROPANE/NATURAL GAS. THE SERVICE WRITER INFORMED ME THAT THE SMELL WAS REALLY BAD BUT THAT IT SHOULD BE SAFE TO DRIVE AND THAT SHE COULDN'T GET ME IN UNTIL TUESDAY. I BUCKLED MY 2 YEAR OLD IN THE CAR SEAT AND LEFT THE DEALERSHIP/SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THE SERVICE WRITE STATED THAT THERE WAS A TSB OUT ON THE CAR AND IT COULD BE A POSSIBLE LEAK IN THE PTU. BUT SHOULD BE THAT BIG OF DEAL. WE STARTED TO TRAVEL HOME THE CAR STALLED, ON A HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT ABOUT 60 MILES PER HOUR, AND THERE WAS A LOUD POP, I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH MY SISTER WHO WAS TRAVELING BEHIND US WHO TOLD ME THAT MY CAR WAS ON FIRE AND TO PULL OVER. I STOPPED THE CAR, WHEN I WAS STOPPED THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR FILLED WITH SMOKE I RUSHED TO GET MY CHILD OUT OF THE CAR AND MOVED AWAY FROM THE CAR. I DIDN'T SEE ANY FLAMES JUST A LOT OF SMOKE. I FEEL WE WERE LUCKY BECAUSE MY SISTER WAS ABLE TO INFORM ME IMMEDIATELY THAT THERE WAS SMOKE. I FEEL THAT IF I WOULD HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR MUCH FURTHER THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH DIFFERENT.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DESIGNED SUCH THAT YOU CANNOT SEE CORNERS WHEN MAKING TURNS. I BELIEVE THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. WHEN DRIVING ON DARK ROADS, YOU TRULY CANNOT SEE WHAT YOU ARE TURNING INTO UNTIL YOU MAKE THE TURN. THIS WAS DISCUSSED WITH THE DEALER AND IT APPEARS THE DEALER AND FORD ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND HAVE REDESIGN HEADLIGHTS FOR SOME OF THE VEHICLES THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE. HOWEVER, IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF CORRECT THIS ON CARS ALREADY ON THE ROAD. *TR
THIS NEW 2016 TAURUS SHO HAS A STRONG FUEL, OIL OR CARBON MONOXIDE FUMES ENTERING THE CABIN WHILE DRIVING. THIS OCCURS WITH OR WITHOUT THE AC RUNNING. THE FUMES ARE SO STRONG THAT I MUST DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN. OF COURSE, WHEN IT IS RAINING, I MUST BREATHE IN THE FUMES BECAUSE THE WINDOWS ARE ROLLED UP. SO FAR, IT IS CAUSING IRRITATION TO THE EYES AND THROAT. I TOOK IT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR BUT THEY SAID THEY "COULD NOT DUPLICATE" THE FUEL SMELL AND THAT IT IS PROBABLY JUST NEW CAR OR PLASTIC SMELL. I ASKED THEM TO CHECK THE FUEL DELIVERY MODULE BUT THEY DID NOT DO SO. THIS IS A DRIVEABILITY ISSUE WHICH SHOULD NOT EXIST IN A NEW CAR. EMISSIONS INTO THE CABIN SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHECKED PRIOR TO DELIVERY AND SALE GIVEN THE PRIOR FORD RECALLS AND TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS RELATED TO THIS PROBLEM ON THIS MODEL.
UPON HARD ACCELERATION, CABIN IS FILLED WITH STRONG ROTTEN EGG SMELL / EXHAUST. AC IS IN THE AUTO MODE AND RECIRCULATION IS NOT ENGAGED. MUST ROLL ALL WINDOWS DOWN IN ORDER TO CLEAR THE CABIN OF FUMES. VERY SIMILAR TO SAME ISSUE DESCRIBED WITH FORD EXPLORER. INCIDENCE FIRST OCCURRED MAY 13, 2016 (DATE OF DELIVERY) AND HAS HAPPENED CONSISTENTLY UPON HARD ACCELERATION. CURRENTLY, VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 10000 MILES AND CONTINUING TO HAVE ISSUE. VEHICLE IS AT DEALERSHIP CURRENTLY.
PROBLEMS OCCURRED 2X - 07/16TH AND 07/18/2016 - WHILE TRAVEL AT HIGHWAY SPEED, 70MPH, ACCELERATION CEASED - CHECK ENGINE, AIRBAG AND SERVICE LIGHTS CAME ON, HAVE TO PULL OVER, SHUT-OFF THE ENGINE, RESTART, DRIVE FOR 1 MORE PROBLEMS REOCCUR AGAIN. DROVE THE VEHICLE TO FORD DEALER WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS. VEHICLES WAS PURCHASED 04/15/2016 HAD 216 MILES ON THE TITLE...CURRENTLY HAS 9,650 MILES.
