The trailer break service light is coming on. There is not a way to dismiss the sound and comes on every few seconds, it's very distracting a HUGE safety risk. I have contacted GMC Valencia California and they have have several vehicles with the same issue / hazard. This has apparently been going on for years yet GMC refuses to put a recall on the vehicles nor take action on correcting this on this critical issue. This is very upsetting and with all the complaints / concerns it appears nobody cares for the lives this defective issue could cause, especially when towing. Thank you.
Radiator is leaking antifreeze because of excessive thermocycles within the cooling system caused by excessive cycling of the thermostat. Vehicle leaking antifreeze causing environmental hazards and possible overheating causing vehicle to shut off. GM knows about this and posted a service bulletin but will not repair when out of warranty.
The paint is bad on the hood and top of the vehicle. It has been a year since it started.
The contact owns a 2016 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 mph, the brake pedal was hard to depress and the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard. The contact mentioned that the brake pedal needed to be pumped in order for the vehicle to be operated. In addition, the contact stated the vehicle failed to stop immediately. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake line needed to be flushed. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the failure was undetermined. The contact mentioned while the mechanic was reversing the vehicle the brakes failed to operate causing the vehicle to crash into a person and a vehicle. The contact stated that the lady sustained multiple injuries that needed medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake vacuum pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where they informed the contact that the failure was unable to be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 54,000.
Driver side, rear lighting fixture not working. All lights for brakes, reverse, do not work. I had to replace the entire light assembly on the Passenger side previously.
The contact owns a 2016 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the RPM gauge was high, and the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drive to her residence. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic informed the contact that the failure could be related to the transmission. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired and remained with the independent mechanic. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the next available appointment was in January 2022. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
Rear driver taillight assembly does not work all the time! One day it works the next day it does not! I had to have the passenger side replaced about 6-8 months ago & it was replaced by the dealer at that time & there was no cost to me as it was under warranty at that time! I think there may be an issue with the LED bulbs! Now the problem is with the drivers side! This is a safety problem and a recall should be issued!!!!It is no longer under warranty & out of pocket cost may be $600 to $1000!
The rear lights on my vehicle - including brake lights - intermittently stop working. I was unaware of this issue until I had someone follow me to my destination to make me aware. This is extremely dangerous that could lead to a wreck with the potential of bodily injury. GMC has issued a service bulletin (admitting to using faulty parts) related to this problem, however, they have limited the coverage to mileage and year. GMC should be required to issue a full recall on any vehicle impacted by this serious safety concern.
I PURCHASED MY CAR BRAND NEW. AFTER ONE WEEK I NOTICE MY CAR JERKING WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP I BROUGHT IT FROM, THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THATS HOW IT CHANGES GEARS FROM 4 CYLINDER TO 8 CYLINDER. SO ME BELIEVING IN THE SERVICE MANAGER, I WENT ALONG WITH HIM. WELL AFTER HAVING DIFFERENT PEOPLE RIDE WITH ME THEY ASKED ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR NEE CAR? WHY IS IT SHIFTING GEARS SO HARD. SO I TOOK IT BACK IN TO DEALERSHIP I TALK TO SAME SERVICE MANAGER THAT MY CAR IS JERKING AND MAKING A LOUD NOISE . WELL LETS JUST SAY I GOT THE RUN AROUND. THEN 6 MONTHS LATER I TOOK IT BACK AND FORTH MULTIPLE TIMES FOR SAME PROBLEM. NOW THIS TIME MY TURNING SIGNALS WE BLINKING ON AND OFF, WHENEVER I WASHED MY CAR OR IT RAINED. THEN MY FRONT HEADLIGHTS WERE DOING THE SAME THING, THEN THE BACK TAIL LIGHTS WERE GOING ON AND OFF. NOW ONTO MY HEATED AND A/C SEATS WERE NOT WORKING. THEN MY INTERIOR LIGHTS WETE STAYING ON, MONITOR DISPLAY WAS SHORTING OUT. NOW IT 2020 AND MY HOOD AND TOP OF THE CAR ARE OXIDIZING. I THOUGHT I PAID $80k FOR THIS CAR AND THIS WHAT HAPPENS!! I PARK IN THE GARAGE TOO! THERE IS ALOT MORE PROBLEMS TO ADD, BUT NOT ENOUGH SPACE TO PUT DOWN. IM DEALING WITH THE GMC HEADQUARTERS NOW. MY CAR IS A LEMON!!
The Trailer Brake System has become inoperative on my 2016 GMC Yukon. . A random, constant and repetitive Service "Trailer Brake System" warning makes constant, persistent, repetitive and abrupt dashboard visual illuminations and abrupt audio disruptions while driving. This causes constant driver distractions and the inability to hear traffic and other warnings when the chiming audio warnings go off over and over. Additionally, the Trailer brake system is not functioning and other potential issues may exist. I have learned that NHTSA and GM are aware of this specific Trailer Brake System issue but have not provided a remedy for this known Manufacturers defect with the wiring harness. These disruptions prevent our family while driving from hearing other vehicle warnings (turn signal, rear collision, lane departure, lane assist, forward collision) and I am unable to make phone calls as well during these constant disruptions and also the inability to read the digital read out of my speed during these constant disruptions.

Also, the driver and passenger side retractable running boards would erroneously retract back and forth while driving, and on several occasions, while attempting to exit the vehicle the running board remained retracted causing the driver to fall to the ground and causing injuries to the driver's legs. The cause of the failures was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified. The failure mileage was 60,000.
Rear Left tail light doesn't turn on. Was stopped by police and given a verbal warning of my tail light turning off and on while driving. Now its completely dead.
This is the second time it happened the first time i parked my car while the engine was on and i got down real quick got back on my car and when i tryed turning all of a sudden my steering wheel keept turning the opposite way and parking control light appear saying it was off and it keep moving my steering wheel i all of a sudden turned my car off and back on the second time that happened i was going in a parking when it did the samething i was turning in the parking and it started turning my steering wheel the opposite way it started saying again parking control off and the system started going crazy and my car completely turned off i was left in the middle of the parking lot had tu put my car in parking and turn my car off reall quick and turned it on and was able to park but i did get really scared and been really scared to drive my car ever since because i don’t know if it will do the same thing again while driving . I have not taken it to get checked but will be making an appointment because it is a really scary situation.
Passenger side brake light not working. Bulb replacement not available to purchase and you have to take to dealership for $800 plus repair. 72k miles on vehicle.
A/C Condensing Unit leaking. Appears to Leak from small tack weld on the top area of the condensing unit. All of the R134 went out and left with no A/C. Seems to be a common problem and ignored by GMC.
Vacuum pump loses vacuum, and the brakes are very hard. Occurs when sitting still with the brake applied. Also occurs in reverse at low speeds. My wife refuses to drive her car, due to numerous near fender benders.
GMC has a bulletin “recall” that stated that the tail lights of their vehicles were not illuminating on vehicles. In 2019 we took our vehicle in to have the defect covered because our passenger tail light stopped working. We are now having the same issue with our driver light but they are stating that the recall only covered one light with knowledge that both lights are defective. Only one light was replaced. They also had a recall on a defective air compressor that we paid $580 for but because of mileage it was not covered. I spoke with a rep by the name of Angellica in the complaint department that confirmed that the letters regarding the air compressors were sent in November of 2017 and I did not receive that notice during that time. I purchased the vehicle in April of 2017. If any part of a vehicle is defective, or poorly made coverage should not end and defective parts should be replaced. We are looking to be reimbursed for repairs and coverage provided for the second light on our vehicle. GM refuses to resolve this issue and is placing my family in danger with defective parts on this vehicle. I am looking for this to be resolved as soon as possible. This is poor business and the quality of this vehicle that is 5 years old is poor. Attached you will see the invoice from the dealer states that the wiring is bad but coverage was expired due to mileage. If defective parts are in a vehicle there should not be a limitation on getting them replaced. GM made this mistake and it needs to be corrected.
Vehicle shudders, jerks excessively, and shifts erratically when accelerating. Had transmission serviced, fluid flushed, pan cleaned, transmission filter changed. Metal shavings were found in the pan and filter and covering magnet in pan. During flush metal shavings were recovered from oil cooler. Transmission continues to display same symptoms and rpms fluctuate during steady acceleration described as evidence of transmission slipping. Vehicle has not been serviced by dealer. No warning lamps or DTC indicated. Approximately 1500 miles after service during follow up inspection, metal shavings/debris were found in fluid on dipstick. All gm recommended parts and fluids used during service.
REAR TAIL LIGHTS INOPERABLE AND BRAKE LIGHTS NOT OPERATING. WHEN I ASKED DEALER ABOUT PROBLEM THEY SAID GM HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLIES SINCE THEY NEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THEM EXTENDING THE WARRANTY. VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE ANY REAR LIGHTS WORKING WHICH IS EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD.
MY 2016 GMC YUKON SLE VIBRATES REALLY BAD ON HIGH SPEEDS STARTS FROM 70MPH AND UP I TOOK IT TO DO A WHEEL BALANCE AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE ALSO I CHECK THE VIN FOR ANY RECALLS AND NOTHING I SEARCH AND I HAVE SEEN THAT ALL CHEVY TAHOES CADILLAC ESCALADE GMC YUKON HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY HAVENT FIX IT. OUR GMC YUKON LOCKED INTO 4WD WHILE ACCELERATING/DRIVING (APPROX 15-25MP) THE KIDS TO SCHOOL THROUGH THE NEIGHBOURHOOD, JERKED VIOLENTLY AS THOUGH BRAKING HARD, AND STEERING WAS EXTREMELY IMPAIRED. THE "SERVICE 4WD" MESSAGE APPEARED ON OUR DASHBOARD. THE YUKON IS LOCKED IN 4WD, AND EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER AND MANEVEUR. IT JERKS VIOLENLY WHEN TURNING. WE ARE UNABLE TO DRIVE DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS.

SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN SEPT 2020 MY ONSTAR MODULE FAILED. STARTED NOTICING WATER IN THE DRIVER FLOORBOARD. THE SHARK FIN ANTENNA IS LEAKING, CAUSING MAJOR ELECTRICAL FAILURES AND SHORTAGES. NO GPS, ONSTAR WON'T WORK. THESE FINS NEED TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED PROPERLY.
WHILE DRIVING MY CHILDREN TO PRACTICE MY VEHICLE JERKED US FORWARD IN A VIOLENT MOTION AS IF ANOTHER CAR HIT US AND THERE WAS NO ONE ON THE ROAD. AFTERWARDS THE CAR SLOWED TO ABOUT 5-20MILES AN HOUR AND WOULD NOT DRIVE ANY FASTER. I STOPPED AT THE NEAREST INTERSECTION AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND TURNED ON AGAIN AND WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE ROAD TO SAFETY. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND I HAVE ALREADY BEEN TO THE MECHANIC TO HAVE THE TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACED. I HAVE COMPLAINED SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAIL ABOUT THIS ISSUE.
THE REAR LIGHTS KEEP GOING OUT, I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO REPLACE THEM BECAUSE MY VEHICLE MILEAGE IS OUTSIDE OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AMONG THE 2016 GMC YUKON'S AND I DO NOT THINK IT IS FAIR THAT I HAVE TO COVER THE REPAIR.
2016 YUKON SHUDDERING, HAD A TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGE WHICH HELPED WITH THE SHUDDERING. WE'VE PUT 15K+M PLUS MILES ON IT SINCE THE FLUID FLUSH, IT'S STARTING TO SHIFT HARD BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR AND THE ENGINE LIGHT COME ON INTERMITTENTLY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO H&H CHEVROLET (4645 S 84TH ST SUITE A, OMAHA, NE 68127; (402) 339-2222) FOR AN ISSUE WITH THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THERE WAS A ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE WIRING AND THAT THE ANTENNA NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SINCE THE REPAIR, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED TO ILLUMINATE NORMALLY FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME. ADDITIONALLY, THE BLIND SPOT INDICATOR ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WERE ISSUES WITH THE KEYFOB WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LOCK THE VEHICLE. THE RADIO SCREEN WAS ALSO OVERHEATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE USING THE HEATED STEERING WHEEL, THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO FUNCTION AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 GMC YUKON . THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A RED LIGHT AND T-BONED HER VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE CONTACT AND THE PASSENGER BOTH SUSTAINED INJURIES AND WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL VIA AN AMBULANCE. THE CONTACT SUFFERED A HERNIATED DISC, A CERVICAL NECK STRAIN, AND RIGHT SHOULDER AND NECK PAIN. THE PASSENGER ALSO SUSTAINED A CERVICAL NECK STRAIN AS WELL AS INJURIES TO HER NECK. THE WHEREABOUTS OF THE OTHER DRIVER WERE UNKNOWN. A POLICE WAS FILED AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS INITIALLY TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT TOW YARD; HOWEVER HER INSURANCE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO ANOTHER TOW YARD FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTO BODY SHOP TO DETERMINE IF THE VEHICLE COULD BE SALVAGED; HOWEVER,THEY DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS DUE TO THE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. MASTER BUICK GMC(3710 WASHINGTON RD, AUGUSTA, GA 30907) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE AIR BAG FAILURE AND THEY REFERRED HER BACK TO HER INSURANCE TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000. INVALID VIN.
FAULTY TORQUE CONVERTER
CAR KEEPS RUNNING ROUGH, STUTTERING WHEN SWITCHING OFF, SMELLS LIKE GAS. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OFF EVERY OTHER DAY. STARTED AFTER FUEL INJECTOR RECALL, DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S THE FUEL PUMP LEAKING AND UNRELATED TO THE FUEL INJECTOR PROBLEM. I DON'T KNOW IF THEY CHANGED THE GASKETS AND THE LINES WHEN FIXING THE INJECTORS. IT'S A HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WITH DIRECT INJECTORS.
I HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE RIGHT BRAKE LIGHT DUE TO GOING OUT AND NOW THE LEFT ONE HAS WENT OUT. THESE ARE VERY EXPENSIVE LIGHTS. THEY ARE FAULTY AND NEED TO BE RECALLED.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE OIL CHANGE AND BATTERY REPLACEMENT ON 6/29/20 AND THEY TOLD ME BY RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF LEAK. I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS LEAKING. THEY SAID THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH VEHICLES OF MY TYPE. MY VEHICLE HAD 56434 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. IT WAS $1204.82 PLUS TAX TO REPLACE.
VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND JERK UPON ACCELERATION AT 30K. DEALERSHIP CHANGED FLUID. AT 60K VEHICLE CONTINUED TO SHUDDER AND JERK UPON ACCELERATION AND LURCH FORWARD OR BACKWARD ALTHOUGH BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED. INITIAL, BRIEF DIAGNOSES REVEALS A BAD TORQUE CONVERTER. THIS ISSUE WAS NOTED IN 4 TSB. TSB ID #PIP5337K, TSB ID #PIP5337F, TSB ID #16-NA-014, AND TSB ID #PIP5337H. NOW THAT MY FACTORY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, GM MAINTAINS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS PROBLEM-- ALTHOUGH THEY SAW IT WHILE COVERED UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. ADDITIONALLY, THERE IS A CURRENT CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT WITH GM REGARDING THIS ISSUE. THE SHUDDERING, SHAKING, JERKING AND HESITATION IS RELATED TO INTERNAL ISSUES WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION AND/OR TORQUE CONVERTER CAUSING FRICTION SURFACES, HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS, AND GEARS TO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY, AND RESULTING IN METAL SHAVINGS BEING CIRCULATED THROUGHOUT THE TRANSMISSION. OVER TIME, DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER OCCURS. CONSUMERS FACE ESCALATING REPAIRS THAT CAN INCLUDE FLUSHING THE TRANSMISSION OF METAL SHAVINGS CAUSED BY THE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION OPERATION, AND WHICH EVENTUALLY NECESSITATE THE REPLACEMENT OF COMPONENTS SUCH AS THE TORQUE CONVERTER, VALVE BODY, OR THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. AS SUCH, THE TRANSMISSION DEFECT ENDANGERS THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS OF THE VEHICLES, AND DIMINISHES THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLES. FURTHERMORE, THE DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGES THAT METAL SHAVINGS DUE TO FRICITON COULD HAVE PASSED THROUGH THE SYSTEM CAUSING FURTHER DAMAGE BUT WILL NOT REMOVE THE TRANSMISSION FOR FULL AND THROROUGH DIAGNOSES.
THE REAR TAIL LAMPS SPORADICALLY WOULD LIGHT UP WITH DRIVING LIGHTS FOR AWHILE, BUT COULD NEVER GET FAILURE TO SHOW UP FOR DEALER DIAGNOSIS. FINALLY LIGHTS WENT OUT COMPLETELY EXCEPT FOR SIDE MARKER. WHEN THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT WORK, CAR WAS NOT DRIVABLE. DEALER WAS THEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSIS AND FOUND SHORT IN LED LIGHT CIRCUIT BOARD ASSEMBLIES HAS GONE BAD AND BOTH LIGHTS WOULD NEED REPLACEMENT. LAMPS WERE REPLACED UNDER 80/20 WARRANTY OFFER. THE PAINT ON THE HOOD AND ROOF HAVE LOST THEIR LUSTER. ACCORDING TO A GMC COLLISION CENTER (SHEEHAN CADILLAC COLLISION CENTER, POMPANO BEACH, FL) THE ISSUE IS VERY COMMON ON DARK COLOR VEHICLES AND IT IS EVEN HAPPENING TO THE ESCALADE. WAS QUOTED $5,195.30 TO REPAIR AND GM INDICATES THEY WILL ONLY COVER 30% OF THE AMOUNT. MY CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN SERVICED AT SHEEHAN BUICK/GMC.EVEN CONTACTED THE GM CUSTOMER CARE CENTER AND WOULD NOT BUDGE.
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF AND ON WHEN MAKING A SHARP TURN. WHEN REVERSING INTO A PARKING SPOT THE TRUCKS STEERING WHEEL GOT STIFF AND EVERYTHING SHUT OFF OFF THEN ON THEN OFF AND ON AGAIN. WHEN REVERSING IT DID IT TWICE MORE. TURNING TO GET OUT OF A CAR WASH CURVE IT SHUT OFF AND ON. TURNING INTO MY DRIVEWAY IT SHUT OFF AND ON (ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS)
ON TWO OCCASIONS WHILE IN A DRIVE THRU LINE, I WOULD PRESS THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD GO TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO BASICALLY STAND UP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. I HAVE NOT HAD THIS HAPPEN OTHER THAN AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED. I SEARCHED GMC YUKON FOR ANY RECALLS AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A RECALL WITH GMC. WHEN YOU DO A SEARCH OF MY VEHICLE BY VIN, IT STATES NO RECALLS ARE FOUND. I CONTACTED A LOCAL GMC DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS MY VIN SHOWS THE ACTIVE RECALL.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ISSUE RECURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO HER CUSTODY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE FORMER DIAGNOSIS WAS CONFIRMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SAME DEALER DECLINED THE PURCHASE OF THE PART NEEDED TO FIX THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,655.

DRIVING AROUND WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS IS A TRAFFIC VIOLATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.

I PURCHASED MY TRUCK FROM GILROY CHEVROLET IN SEPTEMBER 2019. THE WEEK WE BOUGHT IT MY HUSBAND HAD TO CHANGE THE BREAKS AS THEY NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. SHORTLY AFTER WITHIN A WEEK FROM THAT WE STARTED HEARING A POPPING SOUND FROM THE LEFT FRONT PART OF THE TRUCK. SOMEWHERE NEAR THE AXEL OR TIRE BARING. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND STATED THEY HAD SOLD ME A CAR WITH NO BREAKS AND WITH THIS MYSTERIOUS NOISE. THEY DIAGNOSED THE CAR, CHARGED ME AND DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM I DIDN'T EVEN GET REIMBURSED OR AN APOLOGY FOR BEING SOLD A CAR THAT HAD NO BREAKS. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO A NEW DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS. WHERE THEY ARE ASKING ME TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND DEDUCTIBLE I FEEL THE ORIGINAL DEALER WHO SOLD ME THIS DEFECTIVE CAR SHOULD HAVE TO PAY SINCE I HAVE PAID THESE DUE ONCE ALREADY. EVENTUALLY THE MOISTURE WILL HARD THE LED AND HID COMPONENTS AND THEY WILL NOT WORK AT ALL CAUSING A HAZARD TO MY FAMILY AND OTHERS. MY CAR HAS 37000 MILES ON IT AND IS GARAGE KEPT. THESE LAMPS ARE OVER $2000.00 TO REPLACE.
BRAKE LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING ALMOST WAS PLOWED INTO BY 18 WHEELER ON I-75. DRIVER WAVED US OVER AND INFORMED US THAT HE DID NOT SEE US TILL RIGHT ON TOP OF US. PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE SYSTEMIC ENOUGH THAT THE GMC SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD US THAT IT WAS COMMON ENOUGH THAT THEY KEPT THE BRAKE LIGHTS IN STOCK. ADDITIONALLY THERE ARE NUMEROUS THREADS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET AND EVEN UTUBE VIDEOS ON WHERE TO REMOVE MATERIAL TO ACCESS THE OFFENDING CIRCUIT BOARD TO REPAIR THE KNOWN FAULTY CIRCUIT. THE FAILURE OF THESE BRAKE LIGHTS COULD HAVE COST MY FAMILY AND ME OUR LIVES. THE DEALERSHIP WANTED TO CHARGE 1600$ TO REPLACE THE BRAKE LIGHTS. MY COMPLAINT RELATES TO A KNOWN DEFECT IN 2015-18 GMC YUKON (AND SIMILAR GM MODELS) AND DEFECTIVE BRAKE LIGHTS. THE LEFT BRAKE LIGHT IN MY 2016 GMC YUKON WENT OUT IN APPROX EARLY 2019. I LEASED THE VEHICLE IN APPROX SEPT 2016 AND THE DEALER CLAIMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PAST (LESS THAN 75 DAYS) EXPIRATION OF THE 36 MONTH WARRANTY. SO, THE DEALER QUOTED ME $950+/- DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HOUSING. THE DEALER REP EXPLAINED THAT THE ENTIRE HOUSING HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS LED AND DIDN'T USE A BULB. THE DEALER REP TOLD ME THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I WAS INCENSED AND REFUSED TO PAY. I WENT HOME AND GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS PERVASIVE WITH THE 2015-18 YUKON AND OTHER SIMILAR GM PRODUCTS. THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART BECAUSE THERE'S A NATIONAL BACKORDER FOR THE ASSEMBLY. SO CLEARLY I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE. DID SOME RESEARCH AND THIS IS APPARENTLY AN ONGOING PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN A HASSLE FROM THE START. I'M BEGINNING TO BELIEVE THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE AS WELL. THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS ALSO A MAJOR CONCERN BECAUSE IT 'SHED' METAL PIECES WITH THE CAR HAVING LESS THAN 20,000 MILES THEY ONLY DRAINED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THE BULLETIN TOLD THEM TO DO. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON BOTH THE HIGHWAY AND SURFACE STREETS, INCLUDING DAYTIME AND NIGHTTIME), AUDIO/ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM GLITCHES (RADIO VOLUME CHANGES TO AND GETS STUCK RANDOMLY ON HIGHEST VOLUME SETTING (WAS NEVER EVEN SET TO THIS LEVEL) WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING SUDDEN DISTRACTION/DISRUPTION), TAIL LIGHT MALFUNCTION (INTERMITTENTLY STOPS WORKING BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES), AND NOW THE MOTOR TO THE SUNROOF HAS DIED (OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AND AT A MOMENT WHEN IT WAS NECESSARY TO CLOSE FOR SAFETY ON THE HIGHWAY.) THE TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE (FOR THE SECOND TIME - OFF SHIFTS AND DOWNSHIFTS UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING AT BOTH LOWER AND HIGHER SPEEDS. HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY REQUIRING ME TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE.) THESE INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN OCCURRING FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS, BUT BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN INTERMITTENT IT HAS BEEN HARD TO PINPOINT WHEN TO BRING IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION.
1. LOSS OF BRAKING FUNCTION AND COULD NOT STOP VEHICLE, LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY AND STREET AT SPEEDS OF 70 MPH. BRAKE VACUUM PUMP WAS CONFIRMED DEFECTIVE AT DEALERSHIP 10/17/18. 2. AFTER REPAIR BY DEALERSHIPS BRAKES DID NOT FUNCTION CORRECT AGAIN, CONFIRMED AND STATED ON DEALERSHIP INVOICE 6/28/19 SAME PART NUMBER WAS DEFECTIVE AGAIN, DEALERSHIP THAT CONDUCTED REPAIR ON 10/17/19 REPAIRED DEFECTIVE BRAKE WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART. THERE WAS ANOTHER BRAKE ISSUE WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM IN FEBRUARY AS WELL. 3 BRAKE ISSUES UNDER 1 YEAR AND REPEAT DEFECTIVE PART USED IN DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. MULTIPLE DATES BELOW BUT 10/17/19 SPECIFIES DATE CONFIRMED AT GM DEALERSHIP ED RINKE.
MY REAR TAIL LIGHTS (BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE) KEEP FLICKERING AND GO OUT INTERMITTENTLY. THEY ARE LED LIGHTS, NOT BULBS; THEREFORE, THEY CANT SIMPLY BE REPLACED WITHOUT INCURRING A COST OF $800+ PER LIGHT. THE DEALER CLAIMS THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE LIGHTS.
I HAVE ONLY OWNED THIS CAR SINCE 3/29/19 AND SEVERAL TIMES NOW MY YUKON'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS CAME ON AFTER THE TRANSMISSION BUCKS, JUMPS OR JERKS HARD, NOT SURE WHAT TO CALL IT BUT IT BUCKED OR SHOVED MY CAR FORWARD WHEN TRYING TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP (NOT PRESSING GAS PEDAL). THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS AS IT INTERFERES WITH TRYING TO STOP THE VEHICLE. IT WAS SUCH A HARD JOLT THAT IT FOR A MINUTE I THOUGHT ANOTHER CAR REAR ENDED ME. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST TWICE AFTER I PRESSED THE BRAKE TO BEGIN SLOWING DOWN AS I WAS PREPARING TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT, I WAS PROBABLY GOING AROUND 20MPH. IT ALSO HAPPENED TWICE WHILE ACCELERATING ONTO A ROAD, PROBABLY GOING 35 MPH AND JUST FELT A JOLT LIKE SOMETHING KICKED MY CAR FORWARD SUDDENLY. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THE JERKING PROBLEM IS RELATED TO ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION, POSSIBLY THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND CAUSES GEARS NOT TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. I'M GOING TO PUT IN MY MOST RECENT DATE THAT THIS HAPPENED ON YOUR FORM BUT IT'S HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE.

I AM PAYING TO GET THIS FIXED TODAY AND COUNTING ON THE SPECIAL REFUND IF NOT A RECALL.

THE BRAKE LIGHTS IN THE 2016 GMC YUKON VEHICLE FAILED. THE DESIGN REQUIRES A WHOLE LIGHT ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT. THE DEALER QUOTED $750 PER LIGHT. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE WIDESPREAD AND CAUSED BY FAULTY LIGHT ASSEMBLY.
I HAVE 3 YEAR OLD GMC YUKON XL AND THE CONDENSER HAS GONE OUT ON IT. THIS IS ABOUT A $1,600 REPAIR DUE TO GMC'S POOR DESIGN OF THE LOCATION OF THE CONDENSER. THE LABOR ALONE IS ABOUT 8 HOURS TO REPLACE AND I FIND THIS VERY WRONG OF GMC TO DO TO CUSTOMERS OF SUCH AN EXPENSIVE VEHICLE.

WE WERE TRAVELING IN OUR YUKON WHEN ALL POWER WAS LOST TO THE VEHICLE. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK FUNCTION ENABLED BEFORE WE WERE STOPPED. SINCE THERE WAS NO POWER AND IT IS PUSH BUTTON START, THERE WAS NO WAY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. OUR DEALER SAID TO THEIR KNOWLEDGE THERE IS NO WAY TO UNLOCK THE WHEEL. LUCKILY OUR CHILDREN WERE NOT IN THE VEHICLE AND NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE DEALER SAID THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE IS FULLY INTACT, BUT HAD FAILED INTERNALLY. WHAT IS MORE CONCERNING IS THE FACT THERE IS NO WAY TO UNLOCK THE WHEEL TO STEER IF THIS HAPPENS. EVEN AT 65 MPH.
WHEN IN TRAFFIC AT SLOW SPEEDS THE BRAKE SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN AND TAKES MY BODY WEIGHT TO STOP CAR. HAD CHECKED AND NO VISIBLE LEAK. NOW GMC HAS A FIX BUT CHARGE TO FIX IF OVER WARRANTY MILEAGE. SECOND ISSUE IS THE TRANSMISSION WENT AT 96,000 MILES WHILE HIGHWAY DRIVING LOOSING ALL TOP END GEARS AT 65 MPH. GMC DID NOTHING BUT DEALER HELPED ON THO AS WELL

LED TAILLIGHT ON 2016 YUKON DENALI IS NOT WORKING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND GM WILL NOT COVER A KNOWN ISSUE.
THE REAR TAIL/BRAKE LIGHTS ON THE GMC YUKON SERIES HAVE A DEFECT THAT KEEP CAUSING THE RUNNING LIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS TO WORK INTERMITTENTLY. I HAD AN ENTIRE NEW LIGHT INSTALLED AND THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED WITHIN A FEW THOUSAND MILES. GMC IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND HAS YET TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR THESE DEFECTIVE LIGHTS. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS AN IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE OF THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO ALERT OTHER DRIVERS OF MERE PRESENCE, BRAKING, AND TURNING ACTIONS.
THE AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSERS AND ASSOCIATED PARTS ARE FAILING ON THE 2016 GMC YUKON. GMC HAS YET TO ISSUE ANY RECALL EVEN THOUGH THESE AC UNITS ARE CONSTANTLY BREAKING ON THESE VEHICLES.
STARTED THE VEHICLE AFTER IT HAD BEEN SITTING FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR AND THE GAUGES DID THEIR REGULAR CHECK SWEEP FROM LEFT-TO-RIGHT, THEN THE FOLLOWING WARNINGS APPEARED ON THE DRIVER INFORMATION DISPLAY SCREEN: 1) SERVICE AIR BAG; 2) SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE, AND; 3) SERVICE FRONT CAMERA. AFTERWARDS, THERE WERE NO GAUGES EXCEPT THE VOLTMETER (TACHOMETER, FUEL, TEMPERATURE, OIL PRESSURE AND SPEEDOMETER WERE ALL AT RESTING POSITIONS). THE DRIVER INFORMATION SCREEN WOULD NOT SHOW THE GEAR SELECTOR, THE MILEAGE OR THE SPEED AND THE WARNING LIGHTS FOR THE AIRBAG, EMERGENCY BRAKE, TRACTION CONTROL AND TPMS STAYED ON. I DROVE THE VEHICLE A SHORT DISTANCE AND SHUT IT OFF, RESTARTED, AND IT DID NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. THERE WAS NO OPTION TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE IMMEDIATELY, BECAUSE WE HAD A TRAIN TO CATCH, SO WE HAD TO DRIVE IT ABOUT 20 MILES WITH NO SPEEDOMETER, BUT WE CALLED OUR GMC DEALER AND MADE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT FOR APRIL 22, 2019 ONCE WE PARKED AT THE TRAIN STATION. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED UNTIL APRIL 21, 2019, AND, WHEN STARTED AT THAT TIME, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND DRIVER INFORMATION SCREEN WORKED CORRECTLY. ON APRIL 22, 2019, OUR GMC DEALER (WOODBRIDGE BUICK-GMC) PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTICS AND DISCOVERED A B3980 (NO ENVIRONMENT IDENTIFIER RECEIVED) IN THE HISTORY. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE ADVISER I SPOKE TO, THIS CODE WILL INVOLVE THE RELAYS FOR THE TRAILER BRAKING AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ALSO; THEY TOLD ME THAT THE BATTERY CABLE WAS LOOSE, SO THEY TIGHTENED THAT AS WELL. OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THIS AND WE HAD TO PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSTICS DUE TO OUR MANUFACTURE WARRANTY EXPIRING 2 MONTHS BEFOREHAND. AS OF NOW, THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN, BUT IT IS WORTH REPORTING DUE TO POSSIBLY BEING A SAFETY ISSUE.

DRIVER HIT CONCRETE BASE OF STREET LIGHT IN PARKING LOT GOING ABOUT 10 MILES PER HOUR IN SPEED. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY NOR DID SEAT BELT TIGHTEN TO RESTRAIN DRIVER. DRIVER'S BODY WAS THROWN INTO THE STEERING WHEEL WITH RIGHT ARM TAKING THE FULL IMPACT. DRIVER SUFFERS A BROKEN STERNUM, TORN BICEP TENDON, SEVERELY DISLOCATED RIGHT SHOULDER, TORN ROTATOR CUFF TENDONS, TORN MUSCLE FIBERS FROM ELBOW, BROKEN WRIST AND TORN TENDONS ON BACK OF HAND.

THERE IS NO EASY FIX AND A COMPLETE REPLACEMENT IS REQUIRED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE GIVEN IT IS A BRAKE LIGHT. BRAKE LIGHTS SHOULD NOT MALFUNCTION IN THIS MANNER. A RECALL IS CERTAINLY IN ORDER AS FAILURE TO SIGNAL BRAKING CAN BE A RISK FOR MYSELF AS THE DRIVER AND OTHERS.

THE ANTENNA ON THE YUKON GETS WATER IN IT WHEN IT RAINS. IT HAS MESSED UP MY GPS SYSTEM AND MY ON STAR SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. IT HAS LEAKED INTO THE SUV. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME IT RAINS.
VEHICLE IN MOTION AND BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK UNLESS YOU PUT ALL YOUR BODY WEIGHT ON THE BRAKES, AND THEN JUST BARELY. HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES ON AND OFF BOTH AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED ON HIGHWAY AND ON CITY STREETS. TOOK INTO GMC DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE VACUUM PUMP FOR THE BRAKES -- PROBLEM SOLVED AFTER SPENDING $800. WE ARE LUCKY THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I UNDERSTAND THIS EXACT PROBLEM IS A KNOWN PROBLEM CURRENTLY BEING INVESTIGATED. PLEASE FINISH YOUR INVESTIGATION QUICKLY AND ISSUE A RECALL -- SOMEBODY IS GOING TO GET KILLED IF THIS IS NOT FIXED. THIS PORTION IS THE ENTIRE REAR BRAKE LIGHT HOUSING. THIS IS VERY COMMON AMONG THESE VEHICLES HEATED SEATS QUIT WORKING ON DENALI. THE BACKRESTS STILL HEAT UP, BUT THE BOTTOMS DON'T HEAT UP AT ALL. ALSO, THEY WILL NOT TURN ON IN REMOTE START MODE EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE SET TO TURN ON IN THIS MODE.
VACUUM PUMP WENT OUT ON MY VEHICLE RESULTING IN ALMOST BEING HIT BY A SEMI TRAVELING 65MPH. I HAD TO CALL A WRECKER TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE AND HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AS IT WAS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE. I PAID OUT OF POCKET FOR THE WRECKER AND THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE VACUUM PUMP WAS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AT 38,633 MILES. I WAS LEAVING A DRIVEWAY AT A SLOW SPEED TO TURN ONTO A FARM TO MARKET ROAD AND MY BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER AND HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,268.

IT WAS THE LIKE THE BRAKES LOCKED UP, COULDN'T PRESS DOWN AT ALL. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP FIRST THING IN THE MORNING, SAME THING DIDN'T KNOW OF ANY ISSUES. WELL I GOOGLED IT AND IT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION, SO I KINDLY PRINTED OFF ALL THE ARTICLES SO THEY COULD LET OTHER CUSTOMERS KNOW THERE WAS AN ISSUE (THEY DIDN'T CARE TO KEEP THAT BUT DID ADMIT THEY KNEW THERE HAD BEEN SOME ISSUES). OF COURSE MY CAR IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY SO THEY SAID I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ISSUES. AGAIN, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL!!! THEY SHOULD BE PAYING FOR IT AND THANKING THERE LUCKY STARS NO ONE WAS INJURED. FAULTY TAIL LIGHT HOUSING, RESULTS IN TAIL/BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORKING. NOT THE RESULT OF DAMAGE, SIMPLY BAD DESIGN IN THE LED HOUSING AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS. THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION WAS POORLY CONSTRUCTED, AND THE ONLY FIX IS TO COMPLETELY REPLACE THE ENTIRE HOUSING AT $750 INCLUDING LABOR.

I INSPECT VEHICLE AS WELL AND SEEM NO PROBLEM. 23 JANUARY 19 SAME PROBLEM AND WENT BACK TO DEALER AND THEY DISCOVER THE OUTAGE AND ADVISE ME THE LED TAIL LIGHT STRIP WAS OUT AND NEED TO REPLACE THE ASSEMBLY. AS I BACKED OUT, MY BRAKES WOULD NOT ENGAGE PROPERLY AGAIN AND MY CAR ROLLED BACK DOWN MY DRIVE WAY. THE CAR STOPPED AND I PARKED IT WHERE IT WAS. LATER IN THE DAY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE CAR INTO MY GARAGE WITHOUT INCIDENT. I TOOK THE CAR TO CHESROWN GMC (THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE). THEY ADVISED THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A SITUATION AND HAD ME BEING VEHICLE TO THEM. I COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE WITH THEM, BUT LEFT THE CAR WITH THEM SO THEY COULD CHECK IT OUT FOR ISSUES. THEY REPLACED THE THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP. TODAY (7/31/17), THE BRAKES STARTED TO BEHAVE IN THE SAME MANNER AS WHEN THEY FAILED ON 7/16/17.

SEEMS TO BE MOSTLY WHEN IT DROPS INTO THE 4 CYLINDER MODE AND YOU ARE ACCELERATING. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE AS NOTED FOR MANY PEOPLE AS NOTED ON MULTIPLE INTERNET SEARCHES. PLEASE DO SOMETHING!
VEHICLE SHAKES AND VIBRATES HORRIBLY AT HWY SPEEDS I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO FIX SAME PROBLEM
SAID VEHICLE MAINTAINS A DEFECT THAT SUBSTANTIALLY IMPAIRS ITS USE AND SAFETY AND DOES NOT CONFORM TO APPLICABLE WARRANTY PROVISIONS. THE VEHICLE'S INFOTAINMENT/INTELLILINK SYSTEM BECAME COMPLETELY DYSFUNCTIONAL ON JANUARY 14, 2017, AND SAID CONDITION WAS REPORTED TO GMC'S INFOTAINMENT CUSTOMER SUPPORT VIA TELEPHONE ON THIS DATE (SERVICE REQUEST NUMBER: 8-2666432517). AS GMC'S INFOTAINMENT CUSTOMER SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE WAS NOT ABLE TO ASSIST WITH THE ISSUE, A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 17, 2017 AT AN AUTHORIZED GMC SERVICE CENTER FOR REPAIR OF THE INTELLILINK SYSTEM ON JANUARY 17, 2017. THE INTELLILINK SYSTEM WAS NOT REPAIRED OR RENDERED FUNCTIONAL BY GMC AND/OR ITS AUTHORIZED DEALER/SERVICE CENTER ON JANUARY 17, 2017. GMC PERSONNEL HAVE STATED THAT THE NECESSARY PART TO REPAIR THE DISABLED INTELLILINK SYSTEM IS ON BACK ORDER AND COULD TAKE UP TO TEN WEEKS TO BE DELIVERED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DISABLED INTELLILINK SYSTEM AND THE NON-USABILITY OF ITS INTEGRATED SAFETY FEATURES RENDER THE VEHICLE UNSAFE FOR USE.
FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS STICKING CAUSING PREMATURE WEAR OUT OF PADS AND DRIVER SIDE ROTOR AT ~11900 MILES. AFTER FIRST REPAIR, ~900 MILES AND THREE WEEKS LATER, WHILE DRIVING DOWN A SNOW COVERED CITY HILL ABS WAS ENGAGED FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND THEN DASH DISPLAYED A "BRAKE FAILURE" WARNING. AFTER THE MESSAGE THE FRONT BRAKES LOCKED UP COMPLETELY, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND INDUCED A SLIDE OF OVER 1000FT DOWN THE HILL. ONCE THE VEHICLE FINALLY CAME TO A STOP, A LOUD SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE UNDER CARRIAGE. POWERING DOWN THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP THE SOUND. RESTART OF THE VEHICLE DISPLAYED "SERVICE STABILITRACK" AND "SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE" WARNINGS. THE ABS, TRACTION CONTROL SLIPPAGE, AND BRAKE LIGHTS ALSO ALL STAYED ILLUMINATED. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALER AS IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. UPON INSPECTION AT GMC DEALER THEY REPORTED THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE (EBCM) WAS SHORTED OUT INTERNALLY AND SECOND FRONT ROTOR WAS ALSO SCORED. THEY REPLACED THE EBCM AND ROTOR UNDER WARRANTY. I'M TOLD THE CALIPER STICKING ISSUE IS COMMON, AND THIS IS NOT THE FIRST EBCM THEY HAVE REPLACED. IN SUMMARY, DAMAGE TO ROTORS AND PADS IS VERY DANGEROUS. AS THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS ~12000 MILES NO ONE WOULD EXPECT THIS TYPE OF WEAR. THE FAILURE OF THE ABS SYSTEM NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL AS THE VEHICLE WAS DESCENDING A HILL AND AT THE VERY TIME THE ABS WAS NEEDED IT CAUSED LOCK UP OF THE FONT WHEELS INDUCING A SLIDE AND LOSS OF ABILITY TO STEER. *TR

SINCE THE DAY I PURCHASED THIS 2016 GMC YUKON XL DENALI THERE HAS BEEN A VIBRATION IN WHAT I THINK IS THE PASSENGER REAR END. I'VE TAKEN IT IN 3 TIMES AND EACH TIME THE DEALER AND THE GM REPRESENTATIVE SAY IT IS "WITHIN SPEC." THIS PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE IS NOW ALMOST UN-DRIVABLE DUE TO THE SHAKING. IT AFFECTS THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL SPEEDS. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS ON ALL TERRAINS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD AS WELL AS WARM/HOT. THE VEHICLE WILL SOMETIMES JERK TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT WHEN THE SHAKING GETS REAL BAD. THIS VEHICLE IS BECOMING DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BUT I HAVE TO USE IT. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE AND WOULD APPRECIATE SOME HELP.
4 WEEK OLD 2016 YUKON DENALI XL, HAS STALLED 3 TIMES IN LAST 4 WEEKS, ENGINE CUTS OFF AFTER A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN, AND IT HAS TO BE RESTARTED! COULD HAVE EASILY HAD AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE. TODAY, AFTER A STALL, CALLED ONSTAR, RAN A DIAGNOSTICS, FOUND NOTHING OF VALUE , I LEFT IT AT DEALERSHIP AND CONTACTED DISTRICT MGR. MATT TILLSON . I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD ESCALATE THE ISSUE. I DID TELL DEALER THAT GMC AND DEALERSHIP WOULD BE AT FAULT IF VEHICLE IS IN AN ACCIDENT AND DIES WHILE I AM DRIVING. I DID NOT WANT THE VEHICLE BACK WITHOUT THE PROBLEM HAVING BEEN FIXED.
MY 2016 YUKON DENALI HAS A VIBRATION PROBLEM, WHICH I BELIEVE IS CAUSED BY THE MAGNETIC RIDE CONTROL. THE VIBRATION DOES NOT SPEED UP, NOR SLOW DOWN, DEPENDING ON SPEED. IT IS, HOWEVER, MORE NOTICEABLE WHEN THERE IS ANY ROAD IMPERFECTION. THE GMC SERVICE DEPT. HAS BALANCED AND ROTATED TIRES, EVEN SENT IT TO TWO OTHER BUSINESSES TO TRY AND FIX -- ALIGNMENT, ETC. VIBRATION CONTINUES. I'VE HAD PASSENGERS WHO ASK "WHY DOES YOUR CAR HAVE THE SHIVERS?" GM DEALER DID GET AHOLD OF A GMC TECHNICIAN WHO FLEW IN, AND DROVE THE CAR AND SAID -- YES IT HAS A VIBRATION, BUT IT IS IN ACCEPTABLE PARAMETERS. MY DEALER HAS PROVIDED ME 3 DIFFERENT RENTAL CARS WHILE WORKING TO TRY AND FIX THE "SHIVERS" ... ALL THREE WERE FAIRLY NEW, SMALL BUICKS, AND ALL 3 RODE BETTER THAN THIS NEW $75,000 DENALI. I LOVE THE VEHICLE, HATE THE VIBRATION. GMC ITSELF HAS NOW TOLD ME -- YOUR CASE IS CLOSED! THE VIBRATION IS WITHIN ACCEPTABLE LIMITS. THE DEALER HAS LET ME DRIVE TWO OTHER YUKON DENALI'S ... BOTH HAVE SIMILAR VIBRATIONS... JUST NOT AS BAD AS THIS VEHICLE. VIBRATION IS NOTICEABLE AT 25 MPH, AS WELL AS AT 80 MPH; ALTHOUGH IT IS MORE NOTICEABLE ON ROUGHER ROADS. I AM HAPPY TO SHARE THE REPORTS FROM MY LOCAL GM DEALER, WHO COMPLETELY AGREES THAT THE CAR SHIMMIES. WE TRIED THE GMC BUYBACK PROGRAM, AND I WAS TOLD BY GMC THAT PROGRAM IS NOT AVAILABLE TO ME, EVEN THOUGH I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER WHEN I HAD LESS THAN 100 MILES ON IT. AND HAVE BEEN TAKING IT BACK REGULARLY SINCE.

THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION UNEXPECTEDLY SLIPS OUT OF GEAR BETWEEN 20 AND 35 MPH. WHEN THIS OCCURS, PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR MERELY REVS THE ENGINE, WITHOUT FORWARD MOTION. THIS OCCURRED 4 TIMES IN THE FIRST 600 MILES OF OPERATION. WITHOUT POWER, I CAN'T NAVIGATE OUT OF A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM AND DO NOT PROVIDE APPROPRIATE VISIBILITY FOR SAFE DRIVING AT NIGHT, PARTICULARLY WHEN NAVIGATING CURVY ROADS AS THE LIGHTS DO NOT PROJECT AN ADEQUATE DISTANCE. FACTORY BULBS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH ANOTHER BRAND WITH MINIMAL IMPROVEMENT.
