Intermittently my crv will stall/shut off after a complete stop. It happens almost every day now.
ELECTRONIC TRUNK SYSTEM/HATCH BACK DOOR SWITCH REPEATEDLY DOES NOT OPERATE IN COLD CONDITIONS . THERE IS NO WAY FOR A CONSUMER TO MANUALLY OPEN HATCH BACK DOOR WHEN IT FAILS.
I have submitted this complaint before. We sold the car rather than deal with a potential t-bone accident. When starting from a stop, as you would accelerate into a traffic lane the car without warning would suddenly act as if the key was turned off, ceasing to accelerate. Exiting our neighborhood onto a thoroughfare with typical 35-50 mph traffic, my wife & I both had frequent instances of this failure to accelerate or dead throttle response. With 50+ years of driving, 5 years of SCCA road racing, 5 years of teaching defensive driving, I'm still not sure what I've done to get the car to accelerate & avoid getting t-boned. Several Honda dealerships have acted as if this is an unknown situation/condition. Actually talked to 5 different Honda service writers who all denied that the problem existed. Went to an independent Honda garage who had 5 boxes of the offending part-Throttle Position Sensor-on their office counter. I was told it is a common problem, as evidenced by the number of TPS boxes they had. This is an extreme hazard & danger to anyone driving a Honda that uses this particular piece of hardware. I would urge a recall to force Honda to re-design this sensor to eliminate the potential non-acceleration issue.
I first detected a smell of gasoline at the rear of the vehicle. Appox. one week later, I began to smell gasoline inside the vehicle. I've taken the car to the Honda dealership and I'm awaiting the repair. The dealer service adviser said the problem was found to be one or more failed seals in the fuel line. I was advised by the dealer not to drive the vehicle until it is repaired. I looked for Service Bulletins for this vehicle, and I found several related to "the smell of gasoline" around the fuel tank. The vehicle is still at the dealership for repair.
I bought this car from Honda and I had to bring it back three times within the first 30 days for them to fix a window that was making a noise I also asked him if he could please take a look and drive my car because whenever I break or I’m trying to speed up my car seems to stall and the engine can’t catch up and then all of a sudden it bucks forward of course they said they cannot find the issue they will call the manager and no one has ever called me back to fix this issue I looked up recalls I don’t know if there is one on this vehicle or not but I need some help
- While driving, sudden smoke from the engine and burned rubber smell occurred. - Upon pulling over, the drive belt was atop the engine burned cut. - Diagnosis by an authorized Honda dealer revealed the water pump seized thereby snapping the drive belt. Mileage on vehicle 33,849. Summary: - The water pump seized suddenly with no warning. As a result, the drive belt/serpentine belt melted and snapped while driving. This occurred for no known or commonly seen reason at such low mileage. with absolutely no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to failure.
IN COLD WEATHER TRUNK WILL NOT OPEN. THE ONLY ACCESS TO THE SPARE TIRE AND TRUNK IS CLIMBING OVER THE BACK SEAT. THIS PROBLEM IS REPORTED BY OTHER OWNERS OF THE 2016 CRV ON THE INTERNET. I LIVED IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND RECENTLY MOVED TO A COLD WEATHER CLIMATE FOR WORK. IT IS COLD IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA AND I CANNOT OPEN MY TRUNK. WAS ABLE TO SEE THAT MANY DRIVERS HAVE THIS PROBLEM WHEN I DID A INTERNET SEARCH. I FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN 16-063 ON THE INTERNET. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE ONE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CLIMB THROUGH THE BACKSEAT TO GET INTO THEIR TRUNK. IN CASE I HAVE A FLAT TIRE I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LIFT THE TIRE OUT OF THE TRUNK OVER THE BACKSEAT.
Battery will drain overnight and will not retain enough charge to even unlock the doors. Battery tested by two auto part stores and determined the battery is ok. Took vehicle to Honda and said they found no problem. Problem occurred again the same night.
my car started to feel like it rides rough and uneasy. I herd a loud pop inside from the engine when reversing out of my parking stall. It sounded like something inside the suspension or the engine: The engine also feels off and not running like it should. The tire warning also keeps coming on and i replaced all the tires already.
On Sep 10 2020, when I drove the CR-V uphill on Crenshaw southbound near Indian Peak, it could not accelerate and get into "limp" mode. No engine light was on. Once I was able to use momentum to pull over, restarted the car, it was driving as normal. I drove it to the nearest Honda dealer and left with them for a week. They could reproduce the issue by driving exactly to the same spot. They investigated and replaced the whole tank of fuel, suspecting water in the gas tank. On Sep 19 2021, my husband was driving on Lancaster 14 north bound (uphill). The CR-V go into "limp" mode and could not accelerate. Engine light turned on soon after. He was able to cruise to the shoulder and restart the vehicle. Once it was restarted, the engine light turned off, the car could go again, and he drove and left it to the nearest dealer, they could not find any issue. On Nov 7 2021, as I am driving on 73 toll road north bound (uphill) near Catalina View Toll Booth, CR-V traveling around 65 MPH started to get into "limp" mode and I could not accelerate it pressing the gas pedal, then the engine light turned on. I was able to cruise by momentum and pull to the shoulder. I stopped and restarted the car, and it was able to travel again. All through my trip afterward (405 NB), the car felt "choked" and "stuttered" when I tried to accelerate.
When the weather gets under 50F, the trunk will not unlock and will not open. It seems as if the actuator freezes. When the temperature is above 50F you can hear it click and unlock. This was an issue with 2011-2015 CRV and it is still an issue with 2016.
The car vibrates so much my hands will shake on the steering wheel while idling and at time while driving. Any items in the car will shake. Complained to service department everytime vehicle brought in for service. Was told nothing could be done to fix issue and vibration is normal.
Car is burning oil very quickly, no apparent leaks. Bad noise coming from front end when going up and down hills caused me to investigate this problem with mechanic. Notice many complaint on the internet regarding this problem with the Honda CRV 2016.
I put my car in reverse and it stalled. It began rolling backwards. The battery light came on. I live near two churches and people were leaving church. My vehicle rolled backward and nearly hit the car behind me. I'm so grateful that none of the people leaving church were hit- the area is so busy and everyone has to walk to their cars parallel parked on the side of the road. I started rolling backwards rapidly and neither they nor I would have had any warning that was about to happen. That's just a bit of luck. I was surprised to find this is a well known issue described in Honda Service Bulletin 18-072 and reported frequently to the NHTSA. It's just chance I didn't hit a car or person since the stall occurred on an incline and in a busy area. I'm just so shocked the car hasn't been recalled to fix this dangerous problem.
Honda CRV E-XL bought in 2016 from Coral Springs Honda, FL and always maintained at Honda Dealership died on freeway on 08/06/2021 in approximately 5 years. When towed in nearest Firestone they routed to Honda as they suspect the coolant has breached into 4 cylinders. Honda Dealership (First Texas Honda Austin ) is quoting around $10000 for a new engine replacement for 3 - 4 grand for an older engine of similar miles. My question is does Honda engines typically dies at 50k mile marks. I trusted Honda to last for 200k plus. Does Honda need to instrospect the engines manufactured for 2016 CRVs. What went wrong to this engine does it requires Honda to recall 2016 Honda CRV as I would have met an accident due to my car dying all of sudden on a freeway. The car started giving fumes from AC vent and all the warning light flashed on the dashboard. Please please help me getting my car fixed as I cannot afford that much of money. Dies when in reverse has happened multiple times at startup
Rear backup camera failed after less than 5 years of very light use, I only have less than 9,000 miles in my vehicle. Backup camera is completely off, for example, wide angle is now displaying ground angle, normal angle is now out of alignment. I bought and replaced it with a brand new backup camera, but the problem persists that tells me that the problem is something else possibly related to the software if it wasn't hardware. This is potentially a safety hazard because I now have to turn my head to backup rather than using it together with my backup camera. I asked dealer to take a look, but they quoted me $605.00 for a potential fix, did not make a guarantee that the problem will be resolved. At first, the problem happen intermittently, but now seem to be permanent. I Google about this problem on the Internet, seem to happen to a lot of Honda vehicles, but there was never a clear solution as to what caused it. Attached a photo, wide angle view went to the ground instead, even normal angel view is completely out of rack and out of alignment.
Upon moving into a parking spot, I slowed down, and suddenly the car surged unbelievably fast. I ran into a brick wall about 4 or 5 feet in front of the car. No other people were around, but certainly, I was at risk. This problem has happened to me in this 2016 CRV, and in another CRV, 2015. Twice in the 2015. The dealer has not reproduced the situation. It is intermittent. This first CRV happened around 15000 or 16000 miles. This car has around 44000 -45000 miles on it. Of course, the dealership says I had my foot on the gas. I DID NOT! Either of the 3 TIMES. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police insurance reps, etc. No one is interested in doing do. Certainly not Honda. I have found numerous examples on the internet of people experiencing the exact same thing. They describe exactly what happened to me. There is no warning whatsoever. I know Honda will do nothing, until it becomes impossible for Honda to ignore. In the meantime, I wonder how many people will have to be injured or worse. I am asking nothing from Honda. That is hopeless. I am going to junk the car. I cannot in good conscience sell it. I did sell the 20015 back to Honda, as they "assured" me it would be checked, and this was just an anomaly.
The contact owns a 2016 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while fastening the driver’s side seat belt, the seat belt failed to fully retract or secure the contact in the driver’s seat. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the contact was advised to rub the seat belt mechanism with rubbing alcohol. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and informed the contact that he would receive a callback. The failure mileage was approximately 46,564.

This is an intermittent problem. The electric driver seat adjusts on its own--this vehicle does not have 1 or 2 position memory option. Several times when the car has been driven and parked (such as at a store, or overnight in the driveway) when returning to the vehicle the seat is in a different position, having moved itself completely forward. This has happened when the car is not running and is not in accessory mode. Yesterday while the car was running, but not yet moving, the seat adjusted itself completely forward, pinning my husband to the steering wheel. The pressure was so great that he could not breathe. It was extremely difficult for him to reach the seat adjustment button to free himself. This could have been a fatal incident if no one was nearby to assist. THIS IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY ISSUE!! There were no warning lamps or messages displayed at any time indicating a problem of any kind. The vehicle has not yet been checked for this specific issue, however it had been through a routine service and dealer safety inspection one week prior to the incident. The dealer is unable to service the vehicle until 7/13/2021. I have an appointment scheduled for that day.
Vehicle stalls when driving, power steering, tire pressure, and check engine light all come on, but when mechanic checks there’s no codes popping up. Then vehicle stalls again.
Driver's side rear door window exploded without cause and shattered while it was parked in the garage, with most falling to the ground and some landing on the back passenger seat and floor. There had been no damage to the window prior. No warning lights/messages, no undue stress to the window.
At idle speeds (less than 800 rpm), the shake and vibration was so severe in the front dash and the front seat that I did not hear the sirens of ambulence going by as my 20 oz waterbottle was shaking and clacking on the sides of the cup holder. I did not hear the oncoming emergency vehicle as it sped toward me 90 degrees from where I was headed and missed the crash by a few feet. Plastics and dash covers steering wheel and are shaking vigorously inside the car and it only happens at low RPMs. 2015 honda crv TSB states that the problems were fixed for 2016 models (exact same problems that I am having: drive Mode 1 at idle speeds), but I am having this issue since day 1 of getting this car. It has been over 5 years and if the shakes continue to get worse, and I can not hear what is coming toward me, I will could be in dangerous situations that I just experienced, like not hearing the oncoming emergecy vehicles or someone honking at me to be safe. This only occurs for my vehicle when it is in drive and the car is not moving. As I give gas and RPM goes up, zero issues with vibration(s) occur.
I GOT INTO MY PARKED CAR MONDAY MORNING MAY 10, 2021 TO FIND A LARGE BURN HOLE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND BACK OF SEAT NEAR THE BELT BUCKLE. I TOOK IT TO MY DAYTONA BEACH HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DETERMINED AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE IN THE HEATED SEATS CAUSED THE FIRE. THE CAR IS ONE YEAR OUT OF WARRANTY AND APPROX COST TO REPAIR IS 4500.00.
STARTED THE CAR IN THE PARKING LOT. THE ENGINE WAS IDLING A BIT ROUGH. PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE. SUDDENLY THE ENGINE ROARED AND ACCELERATED. TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKE. IT DID NOT WORK. FORTUNATELY DID NOT HIT ANY OTHER CARS IN THE PARKING LOT. THE CAR JUMPED OVER THE CURB AT THE EDGE OF THE PARKING LOT, WENT INTO A DITCH AND HIT A TREE. CAME TO A STOP. THE AIRBAG WAS ACTIVATED. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AT HIGH RPM. FORTUNATELY THIS MALFUNCTION HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT AND NOT ON A BUSY CITY ROAD !!!!! THIS BIZARRE INCIDENT POINTS TO POTENTIAL MALFUNCTION OF THE COMPUTER CONTROLS. FORENSIC INVESTIGATION IS NEEDED TO RULE OUT THIS POSSIBILITY.
ENGINE STALL AFTER A FEW SECONDS BACKING UP. POSSIBLE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM FROM WHAT I HAVE READ. 22,000 MILE VEHICLE, PURCHASED NEW 3-16-2016 STARTS FINE, THE AFTER I BACK A FEW SECONDS LATER, MOTOR ABRUPTLY STALLS. VERY INTERMITTENT, HAPPENS ONLY UPON STARTING IN AM, ONCE EVERY FEW WEEKS
PULLED THE CAR OUT OF THE PARKING LOT AND SHIFTED THE GEAR TO DRIVE. EVEN BEFORE I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL, THE ENGINE ROARED AND THE CAR SPED OUT OF CONTROL. THE BRAKE FAILED. FORTUNATELY WAS ABLE TO AVOID OTHER PARKED CARS AND THE CAR CAME TO A STOP IN A DITCH AT THE EDGE OF THE PARKING LOT. THE CAR MAY HAVE TRAVELED ABOUT 100 YDS BEFORE COMING TO STOP. THE AIRBAG WAS DEPLOYED AND THE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR MAY BE EXTENSIVE. REPORTING THIS FAILURE TO THE NHTSA IN CASE THERE ARE OTHER SIMILAR EVENTS HAPPENING WITH THE 2016 HONDA CR-V MODEL.
I BELIEVE A SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION ISSUE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH MY 2016 HONDA CR-V AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON DECEMBER 12, 2019. AT THAT TIME, I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 36 YEARS BOTH ON MAUI AND AS AN AIR FORCE OFFICER IN THE CONUS. IN ALL THAT TIME, I HAD NEVER DRIVEN RECKLESSLY OR EVEN SPED AS IS EVIDENCED BY MY DRIVING RECORD. THAT MORNING, MY VEHICLE HAD REPORTEDLY BEEN DRIVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND ENDED UP FLIPPING OVER SEVERAL TIMES LEADING TO MY HOSPITALIZATION AND SURGERY FOR SPINAL FUSION. UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO THE RESULTING CONCUSSION, I CAN'T REMEMBER ANYTHING FROM THE MORNING OF THE INCIDENT UNTIL WAKING UP IN THE ICU AFTER SURGERY, NOT EVEN DRIVING TO WORK. KNOWING THAT I WOULD NEVER PURPOSELY SPEED, I HIRED SOMEONE TO DOWNLOAD THE BLACK BOX DATA. TO MY SHOCK, IT SHOWED CONSTANT ACCELERATION, NO STEERING INPUTS, AND NO BRAKING INPUTS FOR AT LEAST FIVE SECONDS. THE ONLY REASON I'VE DECIDED TO PUT THIS OUT THERE NOW IS DUE TO THE PARALLELS I'VE READ ABOUT WITH TIGER WOODS' RECENT ACCIDENT. I DON'T BELIEVE ANYONE WHO HAS DRIVEN FOR DECADES WOULD EVER MISTAKE THE ACCELERATOR FOR THE BRAKE PEDAL. MOREOVER, IF THEY DID, THEIR INSTINCT WOULD BE TO QUICKLY RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR THEN BRAKE, DEFINITELY NOT TO CONTINUE TO FLOOR IT FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. I'M NOT EXPECTING TO GET ANYTHING PERSONALLY OUT OF THIS COMPLAINT. MY MAIN HOPE IS THAT INVESTIGATION WILL BE DONE TO PREVENT FURTHER INJURIES AND DEATHS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE TO SEE IF MANY OTHER BLACK BOX REPORTS FROM SIMILAR ACCIDENTS SHOW ACCELERATOR FLOORED WITH NO BRAKING OR STEERING INPUTS FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. PERHAPS THERE IS SOME COMBINATION OF INPUTS CAUSING WRONG SIGNALS TO BE SENT TO THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE. I BELIEVE THE REASON THERE AREN'T MANY MORE REPORTS OF THIS IS DUE TO THE UNFORTUNATE FACT THAT IN MOST CASES, THE DRIVER ENDS UP EITHER DEAD OR HAVING A CONCUSSION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HONDA KINGSPORT (2217 E STONE DR, KINGSPORT, TN 37660, (423) 888-0194) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINE THAT THE PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VIBRATION CEASED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
: I WAS JACKING UP MY CR-V USING THE SCISSORS JACK CAME WITH THE CAR. THEN THE JACK FAILED ON ME. LUCKILY I WAS NOT UNDER THE CAR. THE CAR PUSHED THE JACK TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE FROM ME. I WAS NOT HURT. THE CAR HAD NO VISUALLY DAMAGE. THE JACK WAS BROKEN AND THE STEEL BAR STRIKE INTO MY GARAGE FLOOR. IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS MOMENT. THE JACK WAS RATED 1350KG. IT SHOULD HOLD THE WEIGHT OF HALF OF THE CAR. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY GARAGE. I STARTED THE CASE WITH HONDA, BUT THEY ONLY DOCUMENTED THE INFORMATION AND SHOWED VERY LITTLE CARE ABOUT LIFE.
AIR CONDITIONING IS BLOWING WARM AIR - THE AIR CUTS IN AND OUT AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL.
ENGINE VIBRATION AT IDLE AND ENGINE NOISE WHEN STARTING IN THE COLD. WHEN HOT, WHINING NOISE INSIDE BY TIMING CHAIN AREA. SENT 5 TIMES FOR REPAIR AT PARAGON HONDA AND THE SITUATION WAS NEVER FIXED AND EVERY TIME SENT, THEY KEEP THE CAR IN THE DEALER FOR ONE WEEK AND AN EXTRA WEEK IN HILLSIDE HONDA. MY CAR HAS 23,700 MILES AND HAVE ALL SERVICES DONE AT PARAGON HONDA AND AT HILLSIDE HONDA AND THE NOISES CONTINUE. I CONTACTED AMERICAN HONDA AND THE SITUATION IS NEVER RESOLVED YET THEY KNOW ABOUT THE ISSUE.
I SMELL GASOLINE WHILE SITTING IN THE CABIN DRIVING. MY CAR HAS SAT ALL NIGHT AND I'M PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY WITH THE CAR RUNNING AND I SMELL GASOLINE. IT SMELLS LIKE WHEN THERE IS A SMALL CAN OF GAS IN THE CAR A LAWN MOWER. SPEAKING OF WHICH, THE SMELL IS NOT UNLIKE THE SMELL YOU GET WHEN YOU SPILL GAS ON YOUR LAWNMOWER AND START MOWING THE LAWN. HONDA REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING. I WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP BUT THEN THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME. I CAN'T AFFORD IT. MY SON READ OF THIS PROBLEM IN HONDA CR-V FORUM WHERE THEY TALKED ABOUT THE OIL PAN BEING AN ISSUE. BUT THE CAR MODEL WAS NOT A 2016 AND IS IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM FOE THIS ISSUE BUT IT IS COMING. I CAN'T LIVE WITH THIS SMELL.
VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A RESTAURANT, PLACED IN PARK AND TURNED OFF. IT WAS TURNED ONTO ACCESSORY MODE WITH THE ONLY RADIO PLAYING. WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF THE VEHICLE BEING IN ACCESSORY MODE, THE TOUCH SCREEN TURNED BLACK AND THE RADIO WENT SILENT. THE DOME LIGHTS CAME ON WHEN MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO TURN ACCESSORY MODE BACK ON, BUT THE TOUCH SCREEN AND RADIO WOULD NOT TURN ON. ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO START THE VEHICLES ENGINE, BUT WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. THE CAR WAS THEN JUMP STARTED SUCCESSFULLY. SEVERAL DAYS LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR TESTING. I WAS A VICTIM OF A HEAD ON COLLISION ON 3/19/2020. I SUFFERED A BROKEN LEG AND NUMEROUS BRUISES AND CONTUSIONS AS A RESULT OF THE COLLISION. THE VEHICLE VIBRATES EXCESSIVELY WHEN AT A STOP LIGHT. IT STARTS VIBRATING INTENSELY WHEN IDLING. IT WILL STOP IF I TURN ON THE AC OR HEAT TO A MODERATE RANGE AND IT SEEMS TO CANCEL OUT THE VIBRATION. IT HAS BEEN CHECKED OUT AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO FIX IT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH PRIOR MODELS, BUT IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IN THE 2016 VEHICLE.
I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN JULY 2019. THANK GOODNESS IT HAS BEEN A MILD WINTER BECAUSE THE HEAT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS COLD. THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE HAS AN EFFECT ON THE SWITCH THAT OPENS THE REAR HATCH ON THE CAR. IF THE TEMPERATURE IS IN THE 30'S IT WILL NOT OPEN UNTIL THE CARS HEATER WARMS THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR SUFFICIENTLY.THIS IS AN ELECTRIC SWITCH THAT MAY BE DEPRESSED ON EITHER SIDE. PRESSURE ON THE SWITCH IS NOT A FACTOR. I HAVE HELD THE SWITCH FOR 30 TO 60 SECONDS ON A COLD MORNING WITH NO RESULTS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS EVEN IN A GARAGE. TEMPERATURE SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY FACTOR. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO RELEASE THE HATCH LATCH OTHER THAN THE PRESSURE SWITCH ON THE REAR GATE. THIS HAS BEEN A CONSTANT PROBLEM SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW AND CONTINUES TO DATE.I HAVE SEEN SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON BLOGS FROM CRV OWNERS WITH NO SOLUTION FROM DEALERS.
TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR KEEPS GOING/STAYING ON EVEN THOUGH TIRES ARE PROPERLY INFLATED. DEALERSHIP WON'T COVER COST TO FIND PROBLEM AND REPAIR IT. IT IS A KNOWN DEFECT REPORTED BY MANY USERS.
EXCESSIVE VIBRATION AT IDLE WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE AND CAR GETS TO AROUND 600 RPMS AFTER VEHICLE IS WARM. YOU CAN INCREASE IDLE SPEED AND VIBRATION IS NOT FELT. VERY ANNOYING FOR A RELATIVELY NEW VEHICLE. DON'T AGREE THIS SHOULD BE A NORMAL IDLE VIBRATION CONDITION. FIRST NOTICED THIS CONDITION IN JANUARY 2019 AND ASKED DEALER TO CHECK OUT THIS ISSUE. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS FOR THE PAST YEAR, THIS CAR HAS STALLED WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL. YOU PRESS THE GAS, THE CAR "CHUGS," AND EITHER SLOWS DOWN AND HAS TO CATCH UP TO ITSELF, OR IT COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF. IT HAPPENS PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, AT STOP SIGNS, AND INTERSECTIONS. WE'VE BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES, AND THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. IT EVEN STALLED ON THEIR TECH ONCE, BUT THEY STILL COULDN'T FIX IT. THEY SUGGESTED REPLACING THE BATTERY, SO WE DID, AND NOTHING CHANGED. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS, AND NOBODY AT THE DEALERSHIP OR THE CORPORATE OFFICE DID ANYTHING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. I BELIEVE THIS CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED AND OFF THE ROAD IMMEDIATELY.

THE VEHICLE'S BATTERY WAS JUMPED AND THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. NO DEFECTS WERE DETECTED. AFTER EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE MULTIPLE TIMES, THE VEHICLE'S ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY WERE REPLACED BY THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING 60 MPH, THE BATTERY INDICATOR AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE THEN SHUT OFF, WHICH CAUSED HER TO LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY STEER THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE IT COMPLETELY DIED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO THE SAME INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AGAIN, BUT NO FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED NOT TO START AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO ATTACH A COMPONENT TO THE VEHICLE, PROVIDED BY THE MECHANIC, THAT WOULD PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM FAILING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FROM WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 23,000.

THE 12 POSITION ELECTRIC DRIVERS SEAT ADJUST BY IT SELF. THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE DRIVER 1 OR 2 MEMORY SEATS. AFTER THE DRIVER SEAT IS ADJUSTED THE CAR IS DRIVEN AND PARKED. UPON RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE THE BACK OF THE DRIVERS SEAT WILL BE IN A DIFFERENT POSITION THAN IT WAS WHEN I EXITED THE VEHICLE. THIS IS INTERMITTENT ISSUE AND HAPPENS MAYBE EVERY 3 OR 4TH TIME IN THE PAST YEAR. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS AFTER ENTERING THE VEHICLE AND STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE BACK OF THE DRIVERS SEAT WILL ADJUST FORWARD PUSHING THE DRIVER FORWARD TOWARDS THE STEERING WHEEL. AFTER SITTING IN VEHICLE WITH RADIO PLAYING ON ACCESSORY FOR 20 MINUTES THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START REQUIRING A BOOST FROM AAA. AFTER RETURNING HOME AND IN MY DRIVEWAY I CHECKED THE VOLTAGE ON THE BATTERY WITH THE ENGINE OFF AND IT READ 12.31. I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE VOLTAGE READ 13.22 AFTER A FEW SECONDS IT WENT DOWN TO 12.25 INDICATING IT WASN'T CHARGING. I TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS AND THE READING JUMPED TO 14.11 AND REMAINED THERE ABOUT UNTIL I TURNED THE LIGHTS OFF WHEREUPON IT RETURNED TO THE LOWER PART OF 12 VOLTS.

THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FLASHED, THEN WENT DARK, THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS STILL RUNNING WITH NO OTHER ISSUES IMMEDIATELY NOTED. THIS VEHICLE HAS CONTINENTAL TIRES ON IT. THE FIRST SIDE WALL BLOW OUT OCCURRED AT ABOUT 16000 MILES. THIS TIRE WAS REPLACE BY ME AT MY COST. THE SECOND TIRE WAS A SIDEWALL BLOW OUT FROM THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE AT 40MPH. AFTER NOTING MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRES I REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES AT MY COST. THE TIRE INFLATION WAS CHECKED BOTH TIMES BEFORE THE BLOW OUTS AND THE TIRE PRESSURE WAS GOOD. THESE TIRES ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ELECTRONIC TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS. CHECKING THE PRESSURE MANUALLY, THE TIRES HAD PROPER PRESSURE IN THEM. DEAR WOULD NOT REPLACE THE TIRES EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE FRENCH TIRES. BUT ON THE ELECTORAL DID PASS. 2 CODE CAME UP. 1). U300616 - POWER SOURCE FAILURE FOR ECU (LOW VOLTAGE) FOR THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE AND THE SAME CODE FOR TIRE PRESSURE. SO IT NOT THE MECHANIC OF THE CRV IT'S THE ECU BOX THE BOX WHICH EVERYTHING GOES THRU. SO IT'S ELECTRICAL NOT MECHANICAL. AND YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. ANOTHER SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS SITUATION IS WHEN THIS VEHICLE ALMOST STALLS-OUT AND SUDDENLY SLOWS DOWN, THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON TO WARN OTHER DRIVERS BEHIND THIS VEHICLE, BECAUSE THE DRIVER OF THIS VEHICLE IS NOT PUSHING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO CAUSE THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO COME ON. MY WIFE BECAME SO SERIOUSLY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS VEHICLE, UNTIL SHE HAS BEEN TOO AFRAID TO DRIVE IT, AND NOW SHE HAS BECOME CONCERNED ABOUT EVEN RIDING IN THIS VEHICLE WITH ME DRIVING. THEY KEPT IT OVERNIGHT AND FOR MOST OF A DAY. WHEN I CAME IN I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A JUST A NEW CAR SMELL. HOWEVER, THE SMELL CONTINUES AND SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE.

FUEL FUMES IN THE VEHICLE AND OUT OF THE VEHICLE. VERY NOTICEABLE WHEN PARKED IN GARAGE. WE WILL NOT PARK IN AN ENCLOSED AREA ANY MORE. WHEN YOU FIRST GET IN VEHICLE THE FUEL SMELL IS STRONG; ALSO STRONG WHEN BACKING UP. AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE SMELL DISSIPATES. HONDA STATES ITS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH NO FIX IN SIGHT! (THEY WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE SMELL WITH NO ISSUE FOUND!) THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING OR PARKING THIS VEHICLE NEAR OUR HOUSE.
MY FEET GET TANGLED BETWEEN THE BRAKE AND GAS. I HAD UNINTENDED ACCELERATION DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. THE CAR IDLE IS SET AT 5MPH ONCE YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE CAR ASSUMES YOU ARE GOING FORWARD AND DOES SEEK TO GO 5 MPH NO MATTER YOUR INTENTIONS. THE BRAKE AND THE GAS ARE ONLY 2.5 INCHES APART. WHEN TRYING TO BRAKE MY FOOT WAS PINNED UNDER THE BRAKE PEDAL AND CAUSING THE CAR TO GO 5 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE AVOIDED ANY NUMBER OF UNTENDED CRASHES DUE TO THIS PROBLEM.

ON JANUARY 7TH WHEN MY CAR WAS DROPPED OFF AT LIA, I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL WITHIN AN HOUR STATING THAT THEY REPLICATED THE SMELL. LIA HONDA HAD MY CAR FOR 35 DAYS. ON FEBRUARY 10TH, THEY CONTACTED ME AND TOLD ME THEY HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE AND I NEEDED TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE. ON FEBRUARY 21, I MET WITH THE DISTRICT MANGER WHO STATED THAT IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2016 HONDA CRVS BUT THERE IS NOT CURRENTLY A FIX.AFTER SPEAKING WITH HIS FIELD ENGINEER, THE DM SAID THEY CURRENTLY HAVE 46 CASES OF GASOLINE FUMES ENTERING THE PASSAGER CABIN. HONDA CORPORATE ALSO ADMITTED THAT THEY CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THE FUMES BEING RELEASED INTO THE PASSENGER CABIN. LIA HONDA REPLACED THE CHARCOAL CANISTER IN AN ATTEMPT TO FIX THE RELEASE OF FUMES INTO THE VEHICLE. ON MARCH 18, THE FUMES RETURNED AFTER AN ATTEMPTED REPAIR. ON MARCH 20, LIA REFUSED TO SERVICE MY VEHICLE.

HONDA CALLS THIS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE BUT OUR FAMILY CURRENTLY OWNS 5 HONDA VEHICLES AND THIS IS THE ONLY ON TO EXHIBIT THIS ABNORMAL VIBRATION CHARACTERISTIC. THE VIBRATION WAS NOT AS PRONOUNCED UNTIL THE CVT SOFTWARE UPDATE (RECALL) WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. HONDA HAS TRIED SEVERAL THINGS TO REMEDY THIS VIBRATION BUT HAS BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL.

I WAS TOLD TO CALL HONDA AMERICA, I DID AND I WAS TOLD THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND HAVE OFFERED NO SOLUTION. THE CAR IS NEW 3900 MILES AND AT FIRST WAS TOLD TO DRIVE IT TO BURN OFF THE SMELL, PART OF BEING A NEW CAR, BUT IT IS GETTING WORSE.

STRONG FUEL SMELL IN THE CABIN OF THE CAR WHEN I FIRST START DRIVING. BEEN NOTICING IT DAILY OVER PAST SEVERAL WEEKS.
PURCHASED A 2016 CR-V IN NOVEMBER 2016 AND WITHIN A DAY THE CABIN OF OUR BRAND NEW VEHICLE FILLS WITH NOXIOUS GAS FUMES FROM A COLD START. THE FUMES ARE VERY STRONG, AFTER DRIVING THE CAR THE FUEL SMELL WILL LESSEN AND ON OCCASION THE SMELL WILL DISSIPATE COMPLETELY. THE SMELL WAS SO STRONG WE HAD TO ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THREE TIMES. FIRST TIME THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE SMELL. THIS ATTEMPT WAS NOT FROM A COLD START. SECOND TIME WE LEFT THE CAR OVERNIGHT SO THEY COULD EVALUATE FROM A COLD START. THE SERVICE TECH STATED HE COULD SMELL THE ODOR IN THE CABIN. HONDA TECH WAS CALLED BY THE TECHNICIAN AND I HAD TO COMPLETE AN ONLINE QUESTIONNAIRE ABOUT THE COMPLAINT. THE SERVICE WRITER SAID AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM AND WE COULD TAKE OUR CAR HOME AND WAIT FOR HONDA TO REPLY. THIRD TIME WE BASICALLY SAID WE DID NOT WANT THIS CAR IF YOU CANNOT FIX IT AND THEY GAVE US A LOANER CAR, A 2015 CR-V WHICH DOES NOT HAVE ANY ODOR. STILL WAITING ON THE DEALERSHIP TO CALL US WITH A SOLUTION. THIS WAS OUR FIRST HONDA PURCHASE. REALLY WISH I WOULD HAVE STUCK WITH MY PREVIOUS CAR MANUFACTURER.

APPARENTLY HONDA HAS KNOW OF THIS ISSUE FOR SOME TIME AND HAS RECEIVED NUMEROUS COMPLAINS ABOUT THE PROBLEM IN THE LAST YEAR. DESPITE THIS, THEY KNOWING SOLD US THE VEHICLE WITHOUT DISCLOSING THIS POTENTIAL PROBLEM. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM (HOPKINS HONDA IN MINNESOTA) AND THEY CONFIRMED THE SMELL AND ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS IS A CONFIRMED PROBLEM, BUT STATED THAT THERE IS NO FIX AND THAT HONDA IS TRYING TO FIND A SOLUTION. 2016 HONDA CR-V VIBRATION ISSUE - MORE THAN TWO MONTHS AGO, I STARTED TO NOTICE A SLIGHT VIBRATION UNDER MY DRIVER'S SEAT WHEN AT IDLE, E.G. SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM AHMC REGARDING A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE ASAP ON MY VEHICLE. THE NOTICE MENTIONED THAT, "THE SOFTWARE IN THE PCM CAUSES A LOW PRESSURE PROBLEM IN THE CVT. THIS MAY ALLOW THE BELT IN THE CVT TO SLIP. IF THE BELT SLIPS, YOU MAY SEE A SURGE IN RPM WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IF THE BELT SLIPS THE TRANSMISSION WILL BE DAMAGED AND DTC P1890 (THE CVT SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM) WILL SET." THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS COMPLETED ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND SINCE THEN, I HAVE EXPERIENCED A MORE PRONOUNCED VIBRATION UNDER MY DRIVER'S SEAT AND EVEN INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE INTENSITY OF THE VIBRATION VARIES, BUT IT HAS NOT GONE AWAY. NOW THAT I HAVE HIT THE 5K MILE MARK AND HAD MY FIRST SERVICE DONE, I AM AFRAID THAT THE OLDER THE TRANSMISSION GETS, THE WORSE THIS PROBLEM MIGHT BECOME. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT GOING ABOUT 2 OR 3 MPH. WHEN I PULLED INTO THE PARKING SPACE TO PARK, I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE PEDAL DIDN'T SEEM TO MOVE. IT FELT SOLID AND THERE WERE NO BRAKES. MY CAR JUMPED THE SMALL CURB AND HIT A VEHICLE IN THE ADJACENT PARKING LOT. MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE BODY SHOP AND THE BODY SHOP OWNER SAID THE BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT WAS ON. HONDA AGREED TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE A HONDA CERTIFIED MECHANIC CHECK OUT THE BRAKE SYSTEM. A HONDA REPRESENTATIVE CAME TO THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK OUT THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND SAID THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THEY SAID I SHOULD DRIVE IT AND MONITOR THE BRAKES. WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF THE BRAKES FAILING AGAIN, I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE THAT VEHICLE AGAIN.
UPON INITIAL START THE ENTIRE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE SMELLS OF RAW GAS, COMING IN THROUGH VENTS. THIS IS ESPECIALLY WORSE WHEN IN REVERSE SUCH AS BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, ALSO THIS IS PRESENT WHEN IDLING IN PARK OR DRIVE, SUCH AS SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT. THE SMELL IS SO STRONG YOU ARE FORCED TO OPEN THE WINDOWS UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AGAIN.
EXCESSIVE VIBRATION - THE ENGINE IS AT 600 RPM WHEN IDLING. THIS CREATES A NOTICEABLE VIBRATION THROUGHOUT THE CAR AT IDLE. THIS IS ALSO A PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THIS VIBRATION IS CAUSING ME DIZZINESS AND SOMETIMES I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING (AND I NEEDED TO BE PICKED UP). I TOLD THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MY HONDA DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THAT ALL 2016 HONDA CR-V IDLE AT 600 RPM. THEY OFFERED NO RESOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM.
ON 8/10/2016, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE SLOWLY ON A STREET WITH A DOWNWARD SLOPE TOWARDS A CROSSROAD. MY DAUGHTER (A KID) WAS SITTING AT THE BACK SEAT. WHEN SHE SAW THE TRAFFIC LIGHT WAS RED, SHE TRIED TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY PRESSING THE BRAKE. BUT THE BRAKE DID NOT WORK. SHE FELT THAT SHE WAS PRESSING A ROCK. SHE WAS PLANNING TO GO STRAIGHT ACROSS THE JUNCTURE, BUT IN ORDER TO AVOID RUNNING INTO THE RED LIGHT AND A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT, SHE TURNED THE VEHICLE RIGHT TOWARDS THE STREET ON HER RIGHT SIDE. THEN SHE TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED. IT WAS A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE FOR MY WIFE. CLEARLY THE BRAKE FAILED. SO THE NEXT MORNING (8/11) WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OUR LOCAL DEALER, AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK THE BRAKE. AFTER CHECKING, THEY TOLD US THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE INCIDENT, AND COULD NOT DO ANYTHING. THEREFORE I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO. AND REQUESTED THAT THEY SEND SOMEBODY TO CHECK THE VEHICLE. AFTER A LONG DELAY, THEIR DISTRICT SERVICES MANAGER VISITED THE LOCAL DEALER, AND INSTRUCTED THE DEALERSHIP TO BLEED THE BRAKE FLUID. THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. IF THERE IS AIR IN THE BRAKE FLUID, YOU NEED TO BLEED THE BRAKE FLUID. BUT THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM MY WIFE EXPERIENCED WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED. THE PROBLEM WAS WHEN SHE PRESSED THE BRAKE, SHE FELT SHE WAS PRESSING A ROCK. THE BRAKE FAILED AT THAT TIME. SO WE REQUESTED AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO. TO REPLACE THE BRAKE SYSTEM, BUT THEY DECLINED ON THE BASIS THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE INCIDENT. IT HAS BEEN ONE AND A HALF MONTHS SINCE WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALER. AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO. DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM, AND THE DEALER NOW ASKED ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE HOME. HOW CAN WE DRIVE THE VEHICLE AGAIN IF THERE IS A POTENTIAL RISK OF THIS INCIDENT HAPPENING AGAIN. THE BRAKE MAY FAIL AGAIN, AND SOMEBODY MAY DIE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA CR-V. WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AT 3 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED COMPLETELY TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE WALL WITHOUT WARNING. WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR AGAIN. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,552. UPDATED 11/07/16*LJ THE CONSUMER SOLD THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AS A TRADE IN ON ANOTHER VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA CR-V EQUIPPED WITH BRIDGESTONE DUELER H/P (NA) TIRES, SIZE: 225/65R17 (NA). WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE HAD DEFLATED. THE CONTACT INDEPENDENTLY REPLACED THE TIRE WITH THE SPARE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,500.
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
VEHICLE WAS STOPPED ON A SLOPED DRIVEWAY, MOTOR RUNNING, IN PARK. DRIVER WAS STANDING OUTSIDE THE CAR WITH DRIVER DOOR OPEN ATTEMPTING TO ADJUST DRIVER SEAT POSITION. PASSENGER REACHED OVER AND PUSHED START/STOP BUTTON (DID NOT CONTACT THE SHIFT LEVER). VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARD,ACROSS STREET INTO NEIGHBOR'S DRIVEWAY AND THEN CAME TO REST IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. DRIVER DROPPED AND ROLLED AND SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES(SCRAPES AND BRUISING) NO POLICE REPORT FILED.

IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED SEVERELY. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
DRIVING IN NEIGHBORHOOD AT 20-25 MPH, GOING DOWN SMALL HILL, VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO ABOUT 40 MPH. APPLIED BRAKES, WITH NO RESULT. CONTINUED UP GRADUAL INCLINE AND WAS ABLE TO STOP. AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES, DETERMINED THAT BRAKES WERE AGAIN RESPONDING, CONTINUED SLOWLY TO DESTINATION (TWO OR THREE BLOCKS). HONDA ARRANGED TOW TO DEALER. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO "DUPLICATE CUSTOMER CONCERN," AND STATES THAT THE VEHICLE IS READY FOR US TO PICK UP. DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE THIS BRAND NEW CAR AGAIN.
I BOUGHT A 2016 CRV TOURING TWO MONTH AGO, THE NEXT DAY I REALIZED THE ENTIRE CAR HAS A STRONG VIBRATION, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT ISSUE IT WAS FOR THE 2015 CRVS , I HAVE THE SAME VIBRATION. WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON WHEN VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. MOVED HANDS AND FEET TO MAKE SURE I WAS NOT CAUSING IT, THEN PRESSED CANCEL BUTTON ON CRUISE TO STOP IT. BY THIS TIME I WAS GOING 80 MPH. LUCKILY NO CARS WERE IN FRONT OF ME OR COULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND AN ERROR CODE OR REPLICATE PROBLEM. GOING ON VACATION FOR A WEEK AND WILL BE USING CRUISE AGAIN. WILL PAY EXTRA ATTENTION TO THIS PROBLEM WHILE ON HIGHWAY. HAVE COPY OF DEALER WORK ORDER, BUT IT IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR UPLOAD. WILL RETAIN IN CASE YOU NEED TO CONTACT AT A LATER DATE.
THERE IS NOT SCIENTIFIC DATA TO SUPPORT THE NEED OF HAVING TPMS. PLUS, THE TPMS DESIGN IS BAD SINCE THE REPLACEMENT OF THE BATTERIES REQUIRE ALL TPMS UNIT TO BE CHANGED. THE BATTERY REPLACEMENT SHOULD BE DONE FROM THE OUTSIDE NOT REQUIRING TO DEFLATE THE TIRES. ALSO THE TPMS SHOULD BE EASY TO INSTALL DIRECTLY ON THE VALVE REQUIRING THE VALVE TO BE REDESIGN TO ACCOMODATE SUCH NEW TPMS.
THE CABIN OF MY BRAND NEW VEHICLE FILLS WITH GAS FUMES RANDOMLY WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. THE FUMES FILL THE CABIN WHILE IDLING, STARTING, AND DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THE FUMES ARE VERY STRONG AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE FOR ANY DISTANCE. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THE HONDA TECH CENTER ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT DO NOT HAVE A REMEDY.

2016 HONDA CRV VIBRATION AT 50 AND 70 MPH SPEEDS AND SHAKES EVEN ON A SMOOTH ROADWAY.
THE CAR OPERATES ON A KEYLESS IGNITION, AND USES PUSH BUTTON START. THE ISSUE IS, ONCE THE CAR IS RUNNING, IT WILL STAY RUNNING WITHOUT THE COMPUTER FAB KEY IN THE CAR. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, I CAN LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN AND WALK OUT OF THE CAR WITH THE KEY IN HAND AND IT STAYS RUNNING, A CHILD OR SOMEONE CAN GET IN THE CAR AND SHIFT THE GEAR LEVER CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY. ALSO THERE WAS NO WARNING WHEN I LEFT THE CAR WITH THE COMPUTER KEY IN MY POCKET AND NO FLASHING OF LIGHTS OR BLINKING OR HORN NOISE. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF THE NHTSA LAWS THAT NO VEHICLE SHOULD BE RUNNING ONCE THE KEY HAS LEFT THE CAR. WELL THIS VEHICLE CONTINUES TO RUN WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE CAR, THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE VEHICLE SHOULD SHUT OFF AFTER THE KEY HAS LEFT THE CAR. THIS PUSH BUTTON START IS CHEAP AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY. THE CAR SHOULD SHUTOFF WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE CAR. I LEFT THE CAR WITH THE DOOR OPEN AND KEY IN MY POCKET, THE CAR FAILED TO SHUT OFF BECAUSE THE PUSH BUTTON HAS TO BE PRESSED TO SHUT OFF. THE CAR IS SUPPOSE TO SHUT OFF WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE CAR PER NHTSA RULES AND REGULATIONS
UPON DRIVING THE VEHICLE 30 - 40 MILES I GET LEG CRAMPS AND MY TOES GET NUMB. I ENCOUNTERED THIS WHEN I DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME FROM THE DEALER. I DID NOT ENCOUNTER THE PROBLEM ON THE TEST DRIVE AS IT WAS RELATIVELY SHORT. I TRIED SEVERAL SEAT POSITIONS TO RE-LEAVE THE PAIN TO NO AVAIL(NOTE THIS IS A LEATHER POWER SEAT WITH SEVERAL ADJUSTMENT POSITIONS). I RESEARCHED THE WEB FOR THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND IT TO BE PERVASIVE. I HATE THE VEHICLE AND WANT TO RETURN IT. IT IS CAUSING SEVER LEG AND BACK PROBLEMS. HONDA SHOULD BE FIXING THIS PROBLEM. NOTE I TALKED WITH MY LOCAL MECHANIC WHO PREVIOUSLY WORKED FOR HONDA AND HE AGREED THIS IS A SERIOUS DEFECT / DESIGN PROBLEM THAT IS NOT ON OTHER SIMILAR SUV VEHICLES (I.E. THE SEAT CANNOT BE ADJUSTED SLOPING DOWNWARD TO RELIEVE BLOOD CIRCULATION PROBLEMS IN THE LEGS ABOVE THE KNEES).
SEATS ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I CANNOT DRIVE FOR MORE THAN 15 MIN AND MY RIGHT LEG IS NUMB AND I HAVE PAIN IN THE RIGHT BUTTOCKS. IT IS BAD ENOUGH THAT I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY MOVE AROUND TO RELIEVE THE PAIN AND DISCOMFORT.
I BOUGHT A 2016 TOURING CRV IN DECEMBER. THE VIBRATION ISSUE THAT PLAGUED THE 2015 CRV IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN FIXED IN THE 2016 MODELS. WELL, IT'S NOT. I DIDN'T FEEL IT WHEN I TEST DROVE THE CAR, BUT THE ONE I GOT CLEARLY VIBRATES WHEN AT IDLE. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NORMAL. WELL, I'VE DRIVEN LOTS OF CARS IN MY LIFE, AND IT IS NOT NORMAL.
VIBRATION AT IDLE IN GEAR. I FOUND THE VIBRATION ON THE SECOND DAY I GOT THE CAR WITH ONLY ABOUT 100 MILES ON IT. IT VIBRATES AT IDLE IN GEAR. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS AT 600-700 RPM. WHEN I TURN ON THE HEATER TO MAX SO IT GOES TO 800 RPM, THE VIBRATION STOPS. BUT ONCE THE HEATER IS OFF AND IT DROPS BACK TO 600-700 RPM, THE VIBRATION COMES BACK. VERY DISAPPOINTED SINCE HONDA JUST CLAIMED THAT THEY FIXED THIS PROBLEM. APPARENTLY NOT TRUE.
