The contact owns a 2016 Mercedes-Benz E350. The contact stated while shifting between the lower gears, the vehicle would shift roughly resulting in the vehicle jerking while driving. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The contact was transferred to the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000.
My car's windshield at first started to leak. I took the car to the dealer and was informed that leaky windshields are not covered by the warranty. I took no further action as we were still in a COVID restricted environment and the need for the car was low. As my company started to return to the office I have begun using the car more and have now observed that windshield adhesion to the frame has now deteriorated. The car has approximately 41K miles at which I would not expect the windshield to be unglued. I was also recently made aware that there is a similar problem affecting other MB 2020 vehicles, which I do not find to be a coincidence. My car will now require a full windshield replacement and MB is refusing to discuss it.
The contact owns a 2016 Mercedes-Benz E350. The contact stated that there was an oil burning odor present inside and outside of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the engine drive belts were faulty, and corrosion was present on the motor mounts. The vehicle was not yet repaired. In addition, the HVAC system was faulty causing mold and mildew to build up inside the vehicle. The manufacturer was not yet notified. The failure mileage was 55,000.
Re-Seal Upper Timing Covers of the cylinder head timing covers are seeping. 2016 E350 has less thank 19k on it. The fluids can potentially leak onto the roads causing a hazard, it is also a fire hazard, as well as an environmental issue. This was identified by Revolution Mercedes in Decatur, GA. After reading some forums, I have seen where others are having similar issues and believe this should be addressed.
Started developing (April 2021) a rattle in car's roof along with occasional metal popping sound coming from rear of car. Continued to get worse. Then rattle stopped for a while and so did the metal popping sound. Now ( August, 2021)it sounds like there is a bolt loose in the sunroof area and the metal popping sound is really loud and I think coming from roof. Most of the time when car body twist, like going up a slight incline at an angle when entering a parking lot this incredible loud popping sound resonates throughout the entire car body. Played around on Mercedes website and it appears that Mercedes has problems with sunroof bolts coming loose. This is a safety defect -- if sunroof comes lose at 70 mph it is going to fly off and hurt or kill someone. Also strength of roof is compromised and if have accident where roof protection is needed it will probably fail.
Tires have under 7000 miles. Traveling on I75 in Florida the car started to vibrate. I slowed down and was able to make it to a Mercedes dealership. The mechanic informed me that the cords in both rear tires had separated. I had the tires replaced which were not under any warrantee. I have the same tires on the front of the vehicle which I am very concerned about as the mechanic told me I was lucky the tires didn't explode. 245/40r18.
The contact owns a 2016 Mercedes-Benz E350. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the contact noticed there was water leaking inside the vehicle through the front windshield. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with the window seal needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to an unknown recall. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
MY 2016 MERCEDES E-350, WHICH I BOUGHT 2 YEARS AGO AS A CPO VEHICLE FROM A MERCEDES DEALER HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE E-PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER IN MARCH TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED, AND WAS TOLD THE ENTIRE PARKING BRAKE CABLE AND OTHER PARTS NEEDED REPLACEMENT. I ASSUMED THIS WAS A COVERED REPAIR, ESPECIALLY WITH THE EXTENDED WARRANTY GIVEN ON CERTIFIED VEHICLES, AND THE FACT THE CAR IS FAIRLY NEW AND HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES. HOWEVER THE DEALER SAID IT IS NOT COVERED BY MERCEDES AND WOULD COST ME OVER $2500 TO REPAIR. I CONTACTED MERCEDES SUPPORT DIRECTLY, BUT THEY WOULD NOT AGREE TO COVER THIS UNUSUALLY AND COSTLY REPAIR, AS THEY CLAIM (INCORRECTLY) THIS IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR, ALTHOUGH I NEVER HAD A PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM FAIL IN THE PAST ON ANY VEHICLE. THIS RAISES A) SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES AS I CAN NO LONGER USE THE PARKING BRAKE, AND B) MERCEDES SHOULD BE OBLIGATED UNDER THEIR WARRANTY PROGRAM TO COVER THIS TYPE OF REPAIR. LOOKING ONLINE, I SEE OTHERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS, SO THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR OF VEHICLE. PLEASE HELP ME GET MERCEDES TO COVER THIS SAFETY NEEDED REPAIR AT THEIR COST, AS THEY SHOULD BE OBLIGATED. THANK YOU, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

ON 02/15/2019, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MERCEDES-BENZ USA, LLC, REGARDING MBUSA RECALL # 2019010001. THE LETTER ADVISED THAT "THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IN YOUR VEHICLE IS AFFECTED BY THIS RECALL BASED ON THE DEFECT DECISION OF TK HOLDINGS, INC. ('TAKATA')". IN THE TWO-YEAR PERIOD SINCE MY RECEIPT OF THE ORIGINAL LETTER, I HAVE RECEIVED NO FOLLOW-UP COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THIS ISSUE. WHEN I TRY TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK THE CAR IS STUCK IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. IF THE CAR IS IN REVERSE OR IF THE VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE AND YOU USE THE GEAR SELECTOR TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK OR CHANGE AND GEAR THE VEHICLE DOES NOT CHANGE THE GEAR. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE CERTIFIED PREOWNED FROM MERCEDES-BENZ DEALERSHIP IN JULY 2019 THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 4000 MILES ON IT SINCE I BOUGHT IT CERTIFIED AND THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHICH COULD HAVE INJURY AND OR DEATH. THE MERCEDES-BENZ DEALER IS STATING THERE WAS A FAULT CODE WITH THE SHIFTER ATTACHED TO THE STEERING WHEEL AND NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE MODULE DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL FAULT. THE DEALERSHIP IS REFUSING TO HONOR DISREPAIR UNDER A SAFETY MAINTENANCE FROM THE MANUFACTURE. I HAVE ESCALATED THIS MATTER TO MERCEDES-BENZ EXECUTIVE RELATIONS. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS SINCE LAST YEAR.

I HAD A MERCEDES ML350. THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ON THAT VEHICLE. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE SALESMAN TOLD ME THAT THE E400 DID NOT HAVE THE SAME AIRBAGS IN THE CAR AND THAT IT WOULD BE SAFE. I PURCHASED THE NEW VEHICLE AND THOUGHT I WAS SAFE. NOW I HAVE HAD A RECALL FOR THE AIRBAGS AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE. THERE IS NOT A "FIX" FOR MY VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE. THAT IS WHY I BOUGHT A NEW VEHICLE. I AM IN THE SAME SITUATION THAT I WAS IN BEFORE THE PURCHASE. TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL. MERCEDES REFUSES TO REPLACE OR REPAIR. THEY SAID THERE IS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE WITH THIS CAR. WE LIVE IN FLORIDA WHICH IS HIGH HUMIDITY STATE AND HIGH HUMIDITY CAN CAUSE THE AIR BAGS TO EXPLODE ON THEIR OWN AT ANY TIME.

I HAVE HAD 2 MB E-350 ENGINE FAILURES WITHIN 13 MONTHS. BOTH WERE "CAMSHAFT SENSOR" ISSUES. WHEN I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE I SEE THAT MB HAD A KNOW DEFECT IN OR ABOUT 2009 WITH THESE ENGINES. I BELIEVE THAT IT REMAINS UNRESOLVED TODAY. THE CHANCES OF ONE PERSON HAVING 2 VEHICLES WITH THE SAME DEFECT CAUSING APPROXIMATELY $9,000 EACH IN LOSSES IS CLOSE TO THE CHANCES OF BEING ATTACKED BY A BLACK BEAR AND A POLAR BEAR IN THE SAME DAY. I THINK THAT THERE IS A HIDDEN DEFECT THAT MB IS NOT RECOGNIZING. IT IS COSTING CONSUMERS THOUSANDS OF $$ IN REPAIRS DUE SOLELY TO THIS DEFECT AND SHOULD BE A MB COST.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE 722.9 7G-TRONIC AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SOMETIMES GET STUCK IN 1ST GEAR. THE ENGINE SPEED ALMOST INSTANTANEOUSLY EXCEEDS 5000 RPM. THE CAR MUST BE IMMEDIATELY DRIVEN OFF THE ROAD, THE ENGINE TURNED OFF AND THEN RESTARTED. THE TRANSMISSION WILL THEN SHIFT PROPERLY UNTIL THE NEXT TIME IT FAILS WHICH COULD BE AT ALMOST ANY TIME. THIS IS A VERY COMMON COMPLAINT WHICH MERCEDES BENZ HAS KNOWN ABOUT FOR YEARS. ONLY MERCEDES BENZ WILL REPAIR THE PROBLEM SINCE THEY WILL NOT ALLOW 3RD PARTIES ACCESS TO THE REPAIR PARTS. THEIR COST TO REPAIR IS IN EXCESS OF $2000. THERE IS A PENDING CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST MERCEDES BENZ FOR THIS ONGOING ISSUE: CASE 2:16-CV-00727-DSF-E. CHARLIE A. JACQUO-STEVENSON AND COREY R. STEVENSON, ON BEHALF OF THEMSELVES AND ALL OTHERS SIMILARLY SITUATED, PLAINTIFFS, VS. MERCEDES-BENZ USA, LLC, D DEFENDANT.
MY VEHICLE WAS MOVING THRU INTERSECTION WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A RED LIGHT. I HIT THE BRAKES, BUT STILL CRASHED INTO SIDE OF OTHER VEHICLE AT 20-25 MPH. MY VEHICLE HAD FRONT END DAMAGE AND WAS A TOTAL LOSS. I WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT, BUT IT DID NOT HOLD ME TO THE SEAT. I HIT THE STEERING WHEEL WITH MY CHEST AND HAD TO GO TO HOSPITAL FOR X-RAYS. ALSO, THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DEALER SAID I WAS NOT GOING FAST ENOUGH TO DEPLOY AIR BAG. THAT IS NOT TRUE. *TR
CAR SHOWN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM OF NOT ACCELERATING WHEN GAS PEDAL IS PUSHED. IT WILL GIVE MANY JERKY MOVEMENTS BUT THEN AFTER FEW MINUTES DRIVING LIKE THIS IT WILL NORMALIZE. I TOOK IT TWICE TO DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT IDENTIFY OR REPLICATE PROBLEMS. THEN MY WIFE TAKING KIDS TO SCHOOL HAS SIMILAR PROBLEM SO I GOT SCARED FOR SAFETY OF KIDS AND WROTE TO THEIR HEAD QUARTER. THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE THE CAR BACK TO DEALER AND LEAVE IT FOR 5-6 DAYS SO THEY CAN TRY TO FIND THE PROBLEM. AFTER FEW DAYS THEY GAVE ME "GREAT NEWS" THAT THEY CONFIRM THE PROBLEM AND IDENTIFY THE SOURCE IT IS"WATER IN THE GAS" I WAS TOLD THAT COSTCO AND SMITH SELL CHEAPER GAS BUT QUALITY IS NOT GOOD AND TOLD ME TO WATCH" CHANNEL 3"WHERE THERE WAS A REPORT IN THIS REGARD. I TOLD THEM THAT I DON'T BUY THIS THEORY AS COSTCO AND SMITH ARE TWO BIG COMPANIES TO ALLOW THIS LACKING AND I SEE THOUSANDS OF OTHER MOTORISTS GETTING THEIR TANK FILLED THERE. THEY TOLD ME THAT MB WILL NOT GUARANTEE UNTIL GAS HAS NOT CHANGED AND I AGREED TO CHANGE THE GAS AND GET LATER FILL UP FROM "CHEVRON".OR THE SAFETY OF MY KIDS I STILL FOLLOW THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS AND GAS IS ONLY REFILLED FROM CHEVRON BUT AS I SUSPECTED THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM AS CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEM AND WILL NOT SPEED UP BY PUSHING ACCELERATOR INTERMITTENTLY . DUE TO RISK CAR IS ALMOST KEPT IN GARAGE AND USED ONLY FOR INTENSE NEED. *TR
