When driving my 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander SE down the highway last week my car began to make a shudder like feeling when I stepped on the gas. When attempting to accelerate my car my RPMs jumped and then dropped significantly making the car shake and not accelerate and instead the speed declined. I was on the highway driving and feel very fortunate that no one was behind me when my car jerked causing them to possibly rear end me and I am glad that my car did not jolt forward hitting the person in-front of me but it was a very real possibility. My car is around 98,000 miles and has had every oil change and maintenance it has needed on time and I am the second owner of this car. No check engine light or anything came on while my car was practically breaking down on the highway and there was no warning. The next day the check engine light came on for about 10 mins and then cleared itself even though the car was continuing to shake and drop and rev RPMS. I took my car to an automotive place and they told me I would need to have a new transmission put in the car and he thought I had very low miles to be having this issue and because the engine light was no longer on he test drove the car and confirmed and ran the error code in the history. After some research I noticed that there was a recall in 2016 for the transmission of my car 16v563000 stating that there is a delay in the transmission and the consequence could cause a crash and to fix the problem "software needed to be upgraded" I asked North America Mitsubishi for a report of the specific work done to the transmission to provide to my mechanic. They stated they cant do that and I don't need it and can get my transmission done at Mitsubishi where they can see the previous work done for the recall. There is a technical service bulletin for this issue its so common, I am 1 year over the 5 yr warranty and they say I have to pay for a new transmission. I was told theres no recall and nothing they can do.
The contact's son owns a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle hesitated while attempting to accelerate. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the transmission module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V563000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
Engine rev'd high and low without affecting speed of vehicle. Vehicle lost acceleration and came to a stop. Restarting the vehicle allowed some movement but the problem persisted. Dealership checking the vehicle said the transmission needed to be replaced at a cost of $9,700.
My 2016 outlander started having a burning plastic smell. I made a trip back home and thankfully made it safely because I started having issues with accelerating. I would push the gas gently and barely go but my car would Rev up to 4-5 rpms. I could put my foot to the floor and it wouldn't speed up at all. After checking the transmission fluid and seeing it was on the lower side we added a little more in hopes it would help but it did not. I was low on gas after my trip so I drove to the closet store so it wouldn't be sitting with no gas and At this point the transmission service required warning came up. It started revving up even worse with the slightest touch of the gas and I could barley get it to back out of a spot or take off from a stop sign. We were trying to get it to a neutral location that we knew it would be safe and while drinking it there it started jumping and the check engine light came on. I had it towed to a repair shop who verified it is a transmission issue but said they recommend a dealer fix only. My car is a 2016, had 1 previous owner and only has 58347 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated while she was at a stoplight, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle would not shift from first gear. The warning message "Transmission Requires Service." appeared on the instrument panel. The contact stated she continued to depress the accelerator pedal until the vehicle switched gears. The contact stated she was able to drive the vehicle, however, the failure reoccurred while at a stop light. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle in to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Failure to accelerate when engaging gas pedal. Exact same issue that the 2016 mitsubishi sport recalls are having with thr cvt transmissions. The 2016 Outlander that we have also has a cvt transmission and is experiencing the same delay issues as previous cvt transmission recalls. We were almost in a wreck, with our children in the vehicle after making a turn onto a busy highway and then were unable to accelerate to get out of the way. The vehicle thinks the transmission is in neutral while it is in drive.
The contact owns a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact stated that while driving approximately 75 MPH, the service transmission warning light illuminated. The failure caused the gear to downshift inadvertently from 4th gear to 1st gear within seconds. The contact managed to pull over to attempt to regain control however, the transmission failed intermittently. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the vehicle needed valve body replacement. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that due to the vehicle not being included under recall, and the warranty was expired, they were unable to assist. The approximate failure mileage was 119,000.
Vehicle exhibits a shudder/surge condition (engine flare, lack of acceleration, and/or car shake) possibly caused by poor reaction of the hydraulic pressure circuit. The CVT belt slips repeatedly when accelerating, causing a warning light to turn on with DTC P084A. The vehicle exhibits exactly the conditions described in TSB-20-23-001 and is explicitly included in the affected vehicles section the bulletin (2015-2020 Outlander Sport with 2.0L Engine with CVT transmission). The conditions were confirmed using Diagnostic Procedure 2 on TSB-20-23-001 by certified mechanic at Meineke Car Care Center (Lexington, SC). However, VIN was not included in the recall as confirmed by MMNA service representatives. The scope of TSB-20-23-001 does not sufficiently cover all vehicles affected by the recall condition, as Mitsubishi excluded some vehicles for undisclosed reasons. Because Mitsubishi had previously failed to trace and identify all affected vehicles in its initial recall for this unsafe condition in TSB-17-23-002, it is possible or likely that Mitsubishi failed to trace or identify all affected vehicles in TSB-20-23-001. The scope should be expanded to all vehicles with CVT transmissions in the model years listed in the bulletin, without exception.
The contact owns a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the transmission warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that while at a complete stop, a slight hesitation would occur upon depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic and the mechanic discovered a defect in the transmission solenoid valve. The dealer was contact about the failure and offered no assistance. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 41,122.
MY 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SE, is having hesitation when accelerating. This vehicle's vin number was NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SAFETY ISSUE. CONSEQ: A HESITATION DURING ACCELERATION CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF THE CRASH. PROBLEM IS WITH THE CVT - EUC transmission
The contact owns a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated her daughter was driving 50 mph and became aware that the RPM gauge was fluctuating. The contact stated that the vehicle started shuddering and shaking, then stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The driver waited a few minutes and then was able to restart the vehicle and continued to drive however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission failed the pressure test and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the steering column vibrated and made an abnormally loud sound. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that they were unable to assist. The failure mileage was approximately 95,961.
Wife was driving home from work in the 2016 Outlander Sport and just before exiting onto the exit ramp vehicle began to rev up and then wind down and wouldn't accelerate anymore. Had it towed to the dealership. They checked it out and the transmission CVT is shot. Mind you this vehicle has only 118,000 and is only 5 yrs. old and with regular maintenance on it. The dealership just quoted me price to fix it would be $10,000. We still owe about $3500 left on payments. We don't have $10,000 to shell out for another transmission. Did some digging and seems like a lot of people are having the same problem with this transmission. This should be fixed for free and needs to be recalled. Someone is gonna be hurt seriously or killed because of this.
The contact owns a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the rear brakes grabbed and would not disengage when the brake pedal was released. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact then received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20V741000 (Parking Brake). The recall repair was serviced however, the failure still occurred. The vehicle was diagnosed with the brake pads and rotors needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the brakes made a loud sound whenever the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with the rear rotors needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that two years later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the rotors and the brakes needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and referred the contact to a local dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 26,907.
RECENTLY REPLACED THE ROTORS AND PADS ON ALL FOUR WHEELS OF MY OUTLANDER. ALL BUT THE REAR PASSENGER ARE WORKING FINE, WHILE THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE IS MAKING A GRINDING NOISE. WE'VE REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS 3 TIMES, REPLACED THE ROTOR ONCE, AND EVEN REPLACED THE WHOLE CALIPER; IT'S STILL MAKING A GRINDING SOUND. THERE'S A RECALL POSTED FOR SOME 2016 OUTLANDERS FOR THE PARKING BRAKE NOT ENGAGING/DISENGAGING PROPERLY AND WE MIGHT THINK THIS IS THE PROBLEM; HOWEVER, THIS RECALL IS NOT APPLIED TO OUR 2016 OUTLANDER. I THINK WE ARE HAVING THE EXACT PROBLEM THAT IS LISTED ON THIS RECALL.
RECALL NOTICE ON 1/1/2021 ON REAR BRAKE OPERATING SHAFT. INQUIRED SEVERAL TIMES OVER PAST FEW MONTHS. STILL THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN CARE OF, ANSWER HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE PARTS. THIS IS IN MY RECALL. 'IF THE PARKING BREAK DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY, IT COULD LEAD TO A VEHICLE ROLLAWAY AND INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.'

VEHICLE HAS BEGUN TO SHOW ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION. BLINKING D LIGHT AS WELL AS TRANSMISSION LIGHT
KEY FOR DOORS DOES NOT UNLOCK WITH THE KEY. ORIGINAL OWNER NEVER USED KEY TO UNLOCK. THEY SAID THERE IS NO RECALLS. THIS IS A DANGER WHEN YOU CANNOT GET IN CAR WITH OUT REMOTE.
I WAS AT A STOP SIGN TURNING ONTO A HIGHWAY, I ACCELERATED AND MY CAR WAS MOVED INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND MY CAR TURNED OFF AND THEN TURNED BACK ON JUST A SECOND OR SO LATER AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AGAIN. I AM NOT CERTAIN WHAT HAPPENED AS THERE WERE NO CODES THROWN AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO OPERATE AFTER TURNING ITSELF BACK ON. I AM WONDERING IF THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE COMPUTER PROGRAMMING THAT IS FAULTY. WHEN I GOT HOME, I CHECKED ALL THE CONNECTIONS AND DID NOT SEE ANY OBVIOUS FAULTS. I ALSO CHECKED ALL FLUID LEVELS AND CAPS JUST TO BE CERTAIN IT WASN'T SOMETHING RELATED TO ANY OF THAT SOMEHOW. IT IS SCARY THOUGH BECAUSE THERE WERE VEHICLES COMING TOWARD ME FROM BOTH DIRECTIONS.
FCM KEEPS BLINKING AND ALARM SOUNDING WHEN I STARTED THE CAR. MY CAR BEEN SERVICE AT CAR DEALERSHIP SINCE PURCHASED. AFTER 100K MILES THEY NOW DISCOVERED CATALIC CONVERTER NEED TO BE REPLACED PER DEALERSHIP. BUT NOTHING ABOUT FCM PROBLEM.
WIFE WAS DRIVING HER 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER FROM BISBEE TO SIERRA VISTA, AZ ON SR 92 WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN SHE HEARD AN EXPLOSION. SHE IMMEDIATELY DUCKED THINKING THAT SOMEONE HAD SHOT AT HER. A NEARBY MOTORIST WAS POINTING TO HER AND HER CAR. SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO MAKE OF IT, SO SHE PULLED OVER AND EXAMINED HER CAR AND NOTICED A HUGE HOLE IN HER CAR SUNROOF. SHE HAD CALLED ME (HUSBAND) AND TOLD ME WHAT HAPPENED AND ADVISED HER TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE HOME SLOWLY, SO SHE ACTIVATED HER EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND DROVE SLOW. THEN SHORTLY, SHE WAS PULLED OVER BY A COCHISE COUNTY DEPUTY AND ASKED HER IF SHE WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND TOLD THE DEPUTY SHE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND TOLD HIM WHAT HAPPENED AND WAS TAKEN BACK BY THE SUNROOF DAMAGE. THE DEPUTY ADVISED HER SHE COULDN'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE ALL THE GLASS WAS FALLING ONTO THE ROADWAY. SHE SAID SHE WOULD CALL ME TO GET A TOW TRUCK AND SAID HE WOULD FOLLOW HER INTO TOWN AND SAID TO GO STRAIGHT HOME IN WHICH SHE DID RIGHT AWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SOUTH COAST MITSUBISHI (2480 HARBOR BLVD, COSTA MESA, CA 92626) WHERE THEY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT FIND A DEFECT. UPON RETURN OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE AGAIN WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEAT AND BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT THEN RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER :20V741000 (PARKING BRAKE) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD ALSO TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO CERRITOS MITSUBISHI (10944 SOUTH ST, CERRITOS, CA 90703) WHERE THEY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND THEY ALSO WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
AIR BAG LIGHT IT JUST ON DASH DOESNT GO OFF HAVENT BEEN IN A ACCIDENT RECENTLY EITHER
THIS IS NOW MY SECOND COMPLAINT TO YOU. AGAIN ON THE HEADLIGHTS THIS TIME THEY WENT OUT AT THE SAME TIME WHILE DRIVING ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY SHORTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT.THANK GOD I HAD HIGH BEANS EVEN THOUGH I'M SURE THE PEOPLE I PASSED DIDN'T APPRECIATE IT. SINCE OWNING THIS SUV I HAVE HAD THE BULBS REPLACED 5 TIMES ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND 7 TIMES ON THE LEFT.WAS TOLD BY AUTOZONE THAT THEY BELIEVE THE SEAL AROUND THE LIGHT IS CAUSING THE MOISTURE TO ENTER AND CARRODE .NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE REAL PROBLEM!. THE PRICE OF THESE REPLACEMENT BULBS ARE NOT CHEAP.I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE LIKE THIS ON ANY OF MY VEHICLES DURING MY LIFETIME.... I SEE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS ISSUE, I FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS BY SEARCHING THE NET..I FEEL THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND IT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED BY MITSUBISHI.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, AND SUDDENLY MY CAR BEGAN TO JERK, AS IF IT WAS HICCUPING, AND REFUSED TO ACCELERATE FOR A NUMBER SECONDS. IT LABORED TO MAKE IT HOME. IT WAS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT WOULD ACCELERATE AND THEN JERK CAUSING TRAFFICS TO ABRUPTLY HALT WITHOUT WARNING, BY THE TIME I GOT HOME IT WAS STUCK ON 1ST GEAR, AND NOW WON'T EVEN REVERSE. MY CAR IS NOT DRIVE ABLE . SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION IT THRU A TRANSMISSION CODE. I THINK IT MIGHT BE A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THIS. I BELIEVE THE CONSTANT VELOCITY TRANSMISSIONS ARE RECALLED, MY VEHICLE HAS A CVT.
I HAVE A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER WITH A 2.4L ENGINE AND THE JATCO CVT TRANSMISSION AND ONLY 75,000 MILES. THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SHIFTING ERRATICALLY AND SHUDDERING WHEN GOING CERTAIN MPH RANGES TYPICALLY BETWEEN 45 AND 60 MPH. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE HESITATES TO GO WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. FROM A STOP, IT TAKES 5 SECONDS FOR THE VEHICLE TO GO ONCE IT IS PUT IN DRIVE. I HAVE A TROUBLE CODE ON MY OBD OF P084A. THIS HAS BEEN DANGEROUS TO MY FAMILY ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PASS A CAR ON THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE IMMEDIATELY. MY WIFE ALSO GOT STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ITERSECTION BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HESITATED FOR AROUND 5 SECONDS BEFORE ACCELERATING. MITSUBISHI HAS A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS VEHICLE, NUMBER TSB-17-23-002 THAT COVERS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING IN MY VEHICLE AND EVEN HAS AN ECU REPROGRAM THAT WILL PREVENT THE PROBLEM FROM HAPPENING IN THE FUTURE. THE PROBLEM IS A SERVICE BULLETIN DOES NOT COVER THE COSTS OF AFFECTED VEHICLES OUT OF WARRANTY. THIS IS A DANGEROUS AND COMMON DEFECT WITH THIS VEHICLE AND TRANSMISSION AND MITSUBISHI IT NEEDS TO BE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY AS THE GEAR BECAME DIFFICULT TO CHANGE. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HERTRICH BUICK GMC (26953 SUSSEX HWY, SEAFORD, DE 19973) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V563000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 90,000.
THIS COMPLAINT IS IN FOLLOW UP TO PREVIOUS COMPLAINT 11353585 REGARDING FROZEN CALIPER. AS PREVIOUS STATED THE DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE. THE REASON FOR THIS FOLLOW UP IS TO REPORT AN ASSOCIATED ISSUE. SPECIFICALLY, THAT I FOUND IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE A REPLACEMENT BRAKE CALIPER. THE CALIPER WAS ONLY AVAILABLE THRU THE DEALER, NOT INCLUDING LABOR, THE DEALER CHARGED $570.88 FOR ONE CALIPER. I HAVE REPLACED NUMEROUS CALIPERS OVER THE YEARS AND HAVE NEVER SPENT OVER $150 FOR A CALIPER. THIS IS A RIDICULOUS PRICE FOR A CALIPER AND APPEARS TO BE MONOPOLIZED PRICE GOUGING BY MITSUBISHI.
I DRIVE MOSTLY HIGHWAY TO WORK EVERYDAY ABOUT 30 MINS. ONLY A WEEK AFTER BUYING THE CAR THE PAINT IS CHIPPING OFF AND THE BODY IS BEGINNING TO RUST. I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR 4 YEARS NOW AND IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE.
DRIVER SIDE CALIPER FROZE. DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT IT WAS FROZEN. NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY WHICH THEY ADVISED EXPIRED AT 60K. VEHICLE HAD 65K MILES ON IT AT TIME OF INCIDENT. I'M 52 AND FAMILIAR WITH VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND HAVE CHANGED MANY BRAKES, ROTORS, CALIPERS. NEVER HAVE I SEEN A CALIPER GO BAD WITHIN 4 YEARS. DEFINITELY A FLAW ON THIS VEHICLE AND SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
I PURCHASE MY 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER IN DECEMBER OF 2016. I HAD MY VEHICLE COME TO A COMPLETE WHILE ACCELERATING AND IN MOTION. THIS COULD OF KILLED ME AND MY FAMILY. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD CONSISTENT ACCELERATION AND HESITATING ISSUES WHILE ACCELERATING AND IN MOTION. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION OR ENGINE. THERE'S A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE NORMALLY AND SAFELY. MY AIR BAG LIGHT ON MY VEHICLE HAS NOT COME ON FOR OVER YEARS. I AM VERY CONCERN THAT MY AIRBAG IS DEFECTIVE AND WON'T WORK IF I GET INTO A VEHICLE ACCIDENT. I HAVE TOOK MY VEHICLE TO 2 DIFFERENT MITSUBISHI AUTO DEALERSHIPS TO HAVE THE PROBLEM LOOKED AT AND DIAGNOSED, BUT MITSUBISHI CAN'T DIAGNOSE OR DETERMINE WHAT'S CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH MY TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. ALSO, WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT PROPERLY ACCELERATE. IN ADDITION, WATER WAS PRESENT COMING INTO THE FLOOR BOARDS OF THE VEHICLE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WERE NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. LOSS OF POWER AND DELAY.. LIGHTS INSIDE ON ON DASH FLICKER AND HEADLIGHTS FLICKER AND DIM IN AND OUT. I DO NOT HAVE ANY PHOTOS. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT A YEAR.
VEHICLE HESITATES DURING ACCELERATION. I HAVE HARD TIMES TO MANAGE THE PROPER SPEED. IT SHAKES AND JERKS INSTEAD. DOESN'T ACCELERATE SMOOTHLY. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE LOCAL DILLER TO CHECK FOR SOME RECALLS. THEY SAID THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY CAR. AND WARRANTY IS EXPIRED SINCE MY CAR HAVE 106 MILES ON IT. I HAVE TO PAY FOR CHECKING AND FIXING. BUT I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY THE EXPENSES
WHEN DRIVING YOU FEEL THAT SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE STARTS JERKING, AND WHEN GOING ON AN UPHILL THE VEHICLE LOOSES POWER, SLOWS DOWN AND MAY EVEN STOP COMPLETELY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS SPECIALLY IF YOU DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY; THE CARS BEHIND YOU CAN HIT YOU AT FULL SPEED WHICH IN WORST CASE IT COULD BE FATAL. IT STARTED HAPPENING WHEN MY CAR HAD ABOUT 110K MILES AND WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY DUE TO THE MILEAGE AND THEY GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF ABOUT $8,000 TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
WHILE COMMUTING ON THE HIGHWAY (~60MPH) MY CAR SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED AND WOULD NOT SHIFT BACK TO NORMAL GEARS FOR HIGH SPEEDS (RPM GAUGE WAS SPORADIC, SHUTTERING AND JUMPY). I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP (CVT SPECIALIST) DRIVING 10 MILES PER HOUR. I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHOT AND I NEEDED TO REPLACE IT (COST WAS 2,527.98) AFTER THE CVT WAS REPLACED, ROUGHLY ABOUT 45 MINUTES WHILE DRIVING , THE CAR IT STARTED DISPLAYING THE SAME SYMPTOMS. I RETURNED THE CAR BACK TO THE TRANSMISSION SHOP AND THEY SAID THE DEALERSHIP NEEDED TO DO SOME UPGRADES TO THE TRANSMISSIONS COMPUTER. AFTER THE UPDATES, DRIVING WAS NORMAL IN TILL ABOUT 1 WEEK LATER THE CVT SERVICE LIGHT TURNED ON AGAIN AND STARTED SHUTTERING... SO I TRADED IN THE CAR. THIS CARS TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE AND MONEY PIT COSTING ME AND MY FAMILY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. CAR WAS ONLY AT 65K MILES WITH PROPER ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND NO RECALLS WERE LISTED FOR MY VEHICLE. *TR
ON RANDOM WHEN DRIVING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY HEADLIGHT WILL GO OUT. BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. THIS MORNING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO WORK, THE LIGHTS BOTH JUST WENT COMPLETELY OUT LEAVING ME IN THE DARK. I HAD TO DRIVE WITH MY BRIGHTS ON FOR SAFETY. THE SECOND PROBLEM IN THE ACCELERATION, YOU CAN PUSH THE GAS BUT IT IS HAS NO POWER TO GO AND HESITATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN THE VEHICLE WAS UNEXPECTEDLY HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE CONTACT STATED SHE WAS SEEN IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM FOR A CT SCAN AND SOFT TISSUE INJURY. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY DEEMED THE VEHICLE TOTALED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MY HEADLIGHTS KEEP GOING OUT. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THEM ABOUT 5 TIMES IN 3 YEARS. I EVEN HAD THEM PROFESSIONALLY PUT IN AT THE SHOP, AND NOW LESS THAN A YEAR LATER, I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE MY SON TO SCHOOL BECAUSE THEY ARE BOTH OUT AGAIN.
THIS VEHICLE AS WELL AS SEVERAL OTHER MANUFACTURERS ARE USING JATCO CVT TRANSMISSIONS WHICH IS DESIGNED WITH A METAL BELT ROLLING ACROSS 2 OPPOSING SIZE PULLEYS IN THE TRANSMISSION TO MAKE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING SMOOTHER AND FASTER. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS TYPE OF TECHNOLOGY IS THAT OVER A PERIOD OF TIME, THE BELT AND THE PULLEY START TO GRIND AGAINST EACH OTHER AND REDUCE THE SIZE OF EACH AND CAUSE SLIPPING OF THE TRANSMISSION. METAL SHAVINGS BEGIN TO APPEAR IN THE TRANSMISSION PAN SHOWING THE WEAR. THE DESIGN ALSO MANDATES THAT THE VEHICLE OWNER CHANGE THE FLUID AND FILTER EVERY 30,000 MILES AT THE COST OF $200 TO $300 OUT OF THE OWNERS POCKET. WHEN THIS TRANSMISSION STARTS PRODUCING METAL SHAVINGS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE TRANSMISSION PAN, SUCH AS IT HAS IN MY VEHICLE, WHICH ONLY HAS 103,000 MILES AND THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD, REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION IS THE ONLY OPTION. THE DEALERSHIP COSTS $9,400 AND A COUPLE OF TRANSMISSION SHOPS HAVE QUOTED $7,400. THIS TECHNOLOGY COSTS THE CONSUMER MORE TO NOT ONLY OPERATE BUT ALSO DEVALUES THE PRICE OF THEIR VEHICLE IN A SHORT SPAN OF TIME. MOST TRANSMISSION EXPERTS ESTIMATE AND HAVE EXPERIENCED TROUBLE WITH THIS TRANSMISSION TO LAST NO MORE THAN 3 TO 5 YEARS BEFORE IT MUST BE REPLACED. I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE TO THE MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP AND TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP FOR A 2ND OPINION ABOUT THE SLIPPING. THE TRANSMISSION ONLY SLIPS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS FIRST ENGAGED INTO GEAR. AFTER A 2 SECOND HESITATION, THE VEHICLE DRIVES WITHOUT ANY ISSUES. I HAVE CONTACTED THE BBB, THE LOUISIANA ATTORNEY GENERAL, MITSUBISHI'S US HEADQUARTERS, SEVERAL ATTORNEYS, WHO WON'T REPRESENT ME BECAUSE NOBODY HAS GOTTEN INJURED, AND I HAVE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE TRANSMISSION (JATCO USA, INC}. MITSUBISHI AND THE DEALERSHIP WON'T RESEARCH WHY THIS TRANSMISSION IS FAILING AT THE LOW MILEAGE.
ON SEPTEMBER 2019 AROUND 10:45 PM, MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT 2016 WAS THE CAUSE OF GARAGE FIRE AT MY HOUSE. THE FIRE STARTED IN THE ENGINE /BATTERY AREA AFTER I HAD TRIED TO GIVE A JUMP START A DAY BEFORE BUT THE CAR DID NOT START. FIRE WAS MOSTLY CONTAINED UNDER THE HOOD. SINCE 2016, THE CAR WAS MOSTLY GARAGED AND SPARINGLY DRIVEN AND HAD VERY VERY LOW MILES NOT ENOUGH TO GET FIRST SERVICE IF I RECALL CORRECTLY. THE INTERIOR STILL SMELLS FRESH CAR. I HAD REGISTERED THE CAR WITH DMV AS NON OPERATIVE STATUS AND DID NOT RENEW MY INSURANCE AS I WAS NOT DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR QUITE SOME TIME. EVEN WHEN I DROVE COUPLE OF TIME, MITSUBISHI SMELLED LIKE ROTTEN EGGS ESPECIALLY WHEN I WOULD START OR PARK AFTER A SHORT DRIVE. I ASKED THE LOCAL DEALER AND WAS NOT TOLD TO IGNORE IT. I HAVE FEW DOCUMENTS FROM DMV, INSURANCE AND PHOTOS THAT I WILL ATTACH. I NEED TO BE TOTALLY REIMBURSED FOR THE PRICE OF THE CAR. I DO HAVE FEW LOAN PAYMENT RECEIPTS , IF NEEDED TO PROVE. AFTER THE FIRE, NEITHER HOME NOR AUTO INSURANCE WILL COVER THE DAMAGE OF THE CAR. THE BURNT CAR IS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY. PLEASE HELP ASAP.
MY VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE AT TIMES AND ITS AN ISSUE WHILE DRIVING. I WANT TO AVOID GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT AND I DO NOT KNOW IF ITS AN ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION ISSUE.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT EXCELERATE AND ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT WHILE ON HIGHWAY. NO WARNING WAS GIVEN BEFOREHAND, JUST SUDDENLY ACTED THIS WAY. I HAD TO TURN MY CAR OFF THEN ON QUICKLY TO GET IT GOING BECAUSE IT WOULDNT GO. IT THEN TELLS ME THERE IS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. I THEN HAD TO GO 40 MPH AND NO MORE AS IT WOULDNT LET ME GO FASTER. TOOK TO AN AUTO PLACE AND TOLD ME CVT BELT SLIPS REPEATEDLY AND POWDER ENTERS THE THING. P0776, P0730, P0741, POUR A, P0969, P2719. THESE ARE THE THINGS GIVEN TO ME BY AUTO PLACE.
GOING ABOUT 75 MPH ON 64 EAST IN VA TOWARDS RICHMOND SUDDENLY MY RPMS JUMPED TO 6 AND THEN BACK TO ABOUT 2. I IMMEDIATELY STARTED LOOSING POWER AND RECEIVED A TRANSMISSION SERVICE REQUIRED WARNING ON THE DASH. I PULLED OFF TO THE SHOULDER TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR A MINUTE AND STARTED IT BACK AND THE RPMS WERE JUMPING ALL OVER THE PLACE AND THE CAR WAS JERKING I COULDN'T GET IT ABOVE 45. MADE IT TO MY DAUGHTERS APT ABOUT 5 MILES AWAY AND PARKED IT. I DID SO MUCH RESEARCH ON THE VEHICLE REGARDING THE CRASH RATINGS BUT TOTALLY MISSED THE TRANSMISSION RECALL. I CALLED HYMAN BROTHERS MITSUBISHI IN MIDLOTHIAN AND WAS TOLD IT WASN'T COVERED. THIS TRANSMISSION RECALL IS MUCH LARGER THAN WHAT'S OUT THERE RIGHT NOW. I CHECKED THE VIN AND MY CAR DIDN'T HIT. I'VE ONLY HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR 45 DAYS AND NOW I'M HAVING TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION ON A CAR THAT'S 4 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS 84K MILES ON IT. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT ON 64 WHICH IS A 6 LANE INTERSTATE.
MY TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE HESITATES FOR 1 TO 2 SECONDS BEFORE ENGAGING IN EITHER DRIVE OR REVERSE, THEN ONCE IN GEAR THE VEHICLE DRIVES FINE. I TOOK IT TO WALKER MITSUBISHI, WHERE I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THEY STATED I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I DROVE TO ANOTHER TRANSMISSION SHOP TO GET A SECOND OPINION AND WAS TOLD THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT WAS CAUSING MY TRANSMISSION TO ENGAGE SLOW. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION SHOP SERVICE TECH STATED THAT CVT TRANSMISSION ARE CONSTANTLY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. I WENT ON AUTOZONE'S AND NHTSA WEBSITES AND FOUND RECALLS REGARDING THE PROBLEM.
I WAS DRIVING TONIGHT AND MY LIGHTS WENT OUT, ( FOR THE 3RD TIME) I HAVE REPLACED THESE LIGHTS TWICE ALREADY THE LAST TIME BEING A FEW MONTHS AGO...NOW THEY BOTH GO OUT WHILE DRIVING! I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL MITSUBISHI CARS AND THIS IS THE FIRST ONE I HAVE HAD SO MANY ISSUES WITH THE LIGHTS! THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE! SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT...OR WORSE KILLED!
SINCE WE'VE OWNED THIS VEHICLE, WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THE LIGHTS. AT NIGHT, YOU CAN HARDLY SEE. WHEN I ADDRESSED WITH SERVICE, I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND TO RESOLVE, I WOULD NEED TO BUY THE NEWER MODEL. THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY MY HUSBAND ABOUT A DOZEN TIMES! THIS MORNING WHEN I LEFT FOR WORK, THEY ARE OUT YET AGAIN. THIS IS NOW A SAFETY ISSUE! ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO, I WAS COMING HOME ON ROUTE 95 IN 8 LANES OF TRAFFIC WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS BECAUSE THEY WENT OUT AGAIN. AT THIS POINT, WE'RE DONE! AS WE SPEAK I'M WORKING WITH A LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO GET OUT OF THIS DEATH TRAP AND I FELT IT WAS IMPORTANT TO ESCALATE THIS ISSUE TO ENSURE OTHERS ARE NOT IMPACTED.
HEADLIGHTS KEEP BURNING OUT.. NOW HAVING TO REPLACE FOR THE THIRD TIME.
THE CAR THROTTLES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM SLOW SPEEDS. THERE HAS BEEN 6 RECALLS ON THE CAR WHICH SUCH AN UNFORTUNATE THING . I AM GETTING A DENIAL FROM NORTHSTAR MITSUBISHI THAT THIS WAS A RECALL ISSUE
DRIVE 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. OCT 2018 STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL GAUGE SENDER BEHAVING ERRATICALLY. FILL WITH GAS AND MAY SHOW FULL TANK OR 3/4 TANK, WITHIN LESS THAN MILE THE MILES UNTLL NEXT FILL WILL JUMP UP. WHILE DRIVING IT WILL JUMP ALL OVER THE PLACE - IN LESS THAN BLOCK IT WENT FROM 390 TO 440. HAS BEEN AS HIGH AS 460. THE LAST TIME I TOOK IT IN I WENT OVER 300 MILES WITH THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWING 3/4 FULL. HAS A 16 GALLON TANK SO ON 4 GALLONS I WOULD HAVE AVERAGED ABOUT 75 MILES TO THE GALLON. HAVE INCLUDED CHART OF ONE FILL UP SHOWING THE MILEAGE AND WHAT THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWS FOR MILES TO NEXT FILL. HAVE ALSO INCLUDED SOME PICTURES TO SHOW DIFFERENCES. SOME INSTANCES I PARK THE CAR AND IT WILL SHOW THE MILES TO FILL AND WHEN I START IT AGAIN THAT WILL HAVE RISEN BY 10'S OR DROPPED BY 10'S. DRIVE 7 MILES ONE WAY TO WORK AND IT HAS GIVEN AS MANY ARE 6 DIFFERENT READINGS DURING THE DRIVE. HAS BEEN ONE YEAR AND STILL NO FIX AND AM AFRAID OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL DIFFERENT TIMES - DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, CITY STREETS, TURNING, STRAIGHT. NO CONSISTENCY, JUST HAPPENS. HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES - THEY KEPT IT TWICE FOR A WEEK EACH TIME - AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. ALSO CALLED MITSUBISHI AND THEY SAY DEALER CONTACTED THEM AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. AT WITS END ON WHAT TO DO WITH IT. ANY HELP??? VEHICLE HAD JUST OVER 20,000 MILES WHEN BEGAN - CURRENTLY HAVE JUST OVER 24,000. THANK YOU
I HAVE A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTANDER 2WD. I NOTICED AS I'M DRIVING THE RPM NEEDLE IS JUMPING UP AND DOWN. ALSO I'M LOSING POWER AS I'M DRIVING. SOMETIMES THE RPM GOES ALL THE WAY TO 4 BEFORE IT SHIFTS. I ALMOST GOT HIT IN THE BACK BECAUSE IT LOST SPEED WHILE GOING ABOUT 60MPH AND THEN IT DROP SPEED. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALL BUT FOR SOME REASON THEIRS NO RECALL BASED ON MY VIN#. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY. ITS ONLY 36,000 MILES
TAIL GATE LIFTERS NOT WORKING. WILL NOT HOLD UP TAIL GATE.
I WENT INTO MY DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE SATURDAY 9/7/19 AND AFTER I LEFT WITHIN A FEW HOURS A "TRANSMISSION SERVICE REQUIRED" ALERT CAME ON THE CAR BEGINS TO STUTTER AS I ACCELERATE AT A CERTAIN LEVEL AND THEN LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT. I COULD NOT GO BACK THE SAME DAY BECAUSE THEY HAD CLOSED.SUNDAY I HAD MY NEIGHBORHOOD MECHANIC RUN THE SCANNER ON THE CAR AND THE CODE ABOUT A TRANSMISSION PRESSURE SWITCH SENSOR WAS READING. MONDAY MORNING I CALL THEM AS SOON AS THE SERVICE CENTER OPENS AND THEY TELL ME TO BRING IT IN. WHEN I BRING IT IN, I WAIT ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO AND THEY COME TELL ME I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION, WE HAVE ORDERED THE PART THAT WILL COME IN ON WEDNESDAY. I LEAVE TO GO BACK TO WORK WHICH WAS ABOUT 40 MILES AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND THE CAR COMPLETELY STALLS AS IM MAKING A U-TURN TO MY JOB'S PARKING LOT.
MY NAME IS [XXX], E-MAIL ADDRESS IS [XXX]. I WAS AT THE VICTORY MITSUBISHI DEALER FOR SERVICE ON 7/20/19. I COMPLAINT ABOUT HESITATION AND REDUCE POWER WHEN ACCELERATING. I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V563000 AND MITSUBISHII RECALL NUMBER SR-16-006 ON THIS SAFETY ISSUE, THEY REFUSED TO ENTERTAIN THIS POTENTIAL RISK BECAUSE MMNA DID NOT LIST MY VIN NUMBER AS POSSIBLE VEHICLE COVERED BY THIS RECALL. THEY INSTEAD OFFERED TO CHARGE ME THE THROTTLE BODY CLEANING AND CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. I PAID FOR THE TRANSMISSION FUEL CHANGE AT APPROXIMATELY 26.600 MILES IN ADVANCE OF THE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. THE CAR IS STILL HESITATING AT VARIOUS TEMPERATURES. I NEED THIS FIXED!! AND I WOULD LIKE AN APOLOGY FROM THE FACTORY TRAINED SERVICE TECHNICIAN THAT DID NOT LISTEN TO MY COMPLAINT! ALSO, THE DOOR PANELS DOOLIGHT UP AT NIGHT WHEN DRIVING, MAYBE IT'S AN ELECTRIC MATTER TOO.

ON A CONSTANT BASIS WHEN I'M DRIVING MY VEHICLE I HAVE TO CONTINUOUSLY RELEASE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL FOR IT TO ATTEMPT TO SHIFT INTO THE NEXT GEAR OTHERWISE IT CONTINUES TO REV UP THE RPMS HIGHER AND HIGHER ON IT'S OWN AND IT'S AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WHEN DRIVING UP HILL ON THE HIGHWAY I LITERALLY HAVE TO PUNCH THE GAS PEDAL OR HAVE IT FULLY DEPRESSED DOWN TO THE FLOOR TO GET THE VEHICLE TO HAVE ANY ACCELERATION TO MAKE IT UP THE HILL AND IT STILL LOOSES ANY POWER MOMENTUM YOU GIVE IT. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TWICE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A.C. ISSUES FIRST THE SYSTEM BECAME CLOGGED AND STARTED TO LEAK INSIDE MY VEHICLE. NOW IT'S BLOWING HOT AIR ON THE MAX COLD SETTING. I HAVE REPETITIVELY TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN AFTER NOW 4 RECALLS FOR TOTALLY DIFFERENT ISSUES AND HAVE TOLD THEM OF MY ISSUES AND KEEP GETTING DISMISSED AND TOLD THAT IT'S NOTHING. I REACH OUT TO MITSUBISHI AND GET TOLD SOMEONE WILL CONTACT ME AND GET NO RESPONSE. I HONESTLY HAVE EXPERIENCED MORE BUT CAN'T THINK OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD OTHER THAN I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE MY WINDSHIELD WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNING IT FROM A SMALL CHIP. I HONESTLY DO NOT FEEL SAFE BEHIND THE WHEEL OF MY VEHICLE ESPECIALLY BEING AN EMPLOYEE WORKING AT A LEVEL 1 TRAUMA HOSPITAL AND HAVE TO RESPOND EFFICIENTLY AT TIMES BUT DO T FEEL THAT I CAN WITHOUT FEELING LIKE I AM PUTTING BOTH MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME AT RISK WHEN MY CAR SOMETIMES FEELS LIKE IT WON'T DO WHAT IT SHOULD. BEING I BOUGHT THIS CAR OFF THE DEALERSHIP LOT BRAND NEW FOR NEARLY $30K, I DON'T FEEL MITSUBISHI HAS OWNED UP MAKING THIS CAR READY FOR THE ROAD.

I PURCHASED A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER IN 9/2015 FROM LARRY J MITSUBISHI. IN AUGUST OF 2016, WE RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT A RECALL(SR−16−006 ON THE TRANSMISSION. THE ISSUE IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD THAT CAN CAUSE A CRASH IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY USE, INTERSECTION OR HEAVY FLOWING TRAFFIC. UPON THE RECALL, WE TOOK VEHICLE TO LARRY J IN 9/2016 TO HAVE A THE PROPOSED FIX TO RE FLASH THE SOFTWARE. VEHICLE DROVE GREAT UNTIL 08/2017, WITH HESITATION AND SLUGGISH ACCELERATION. WE TOOK VEHICLE TO SAME DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT INSPECTED ON 08/10/2017. IN SPEAKING WITH SERVICE ADVISOR, THE TRANSMISSION WAS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND PERFORMED FIX, RE FLASH, AS NOTED IN THE RECALL BULLETIN. WE THEN DROVE VEHICLE ON 08/12/2017 TO MILLEDGEVILLE, GA(4 HOURS FROM HOME) AND BEGAN NOTICING HESITATION AND ACCELERATION ISSUES WHEN ARRIVING ABOUT AN HOUR FROM OUR DESTINATION. UPON LEAVING THAT EVENING TO HEAD BACK TO CHARLOTTE(4 HOURS FROM HOME) THE VEHICLE TOOK A LONG TIME TO PICK UP SPEED AT LIGHTS AND INTERSECTIONS. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO AUTO ZONE AND CAPTURE ERROR CODES. WE CHECKED INTO HOTEL AND PLANNED TO LEAVE IN THE MORNING. THE NEXT MORNING, DROVE NOT IN 1/8 OF A MILE AND VEHICLE STALLED OUT AT AN INTERSECTION AND HAD TO BE PUSHED OFF THE ROAD. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING 70MPH AND HAVE TO SLOW DOWN AND CANNOT PICK BACK UP AND SEE 16-WHEELER AND LARGE SUV'S COMING BEHIND YOU OR GOING 45 MPH AND THE VEHICLE JUST STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, MITSUBISHI CORPORATION IS OF ANY HELP WHEN SEEING ANY REIMBURSEMENT FROM OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES. I HAVE DOCUMENTS ON A WORD DOCUMENT WITH PHOTOS, REPAIR ORDERS, RECEIPTS ETC.

AT APPROXIMATELY 18,500 MILES I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS VIBRATION IN BOTH THE STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE PEDAL WHEN BRAKING. BASED ON THE MILEAGE I FIGURED IT MUST BE SOMETHING WRONG OUTSIDE OF THE BRAKES - TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE AT JEFF D'AMBROSIO AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED FRONT ROTORS, BACK ROTORS AND BACK BRAKE PADS - AND THEY WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. I TOOK IT TO SOMEONE ELSE TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE (KEPT THE PARTS) AND REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS AND WILL HAVE THE BACK DONE THIS WEEKEND - PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
I JUST PURCHASED A PRE-OWNED CERTIFIED 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT GT WITH AN ODOMETER OF AROUND 6043 MILES AT TIME OF PURCHASE. IN THE LAST 2 DAYS SINCE PURCHASING, I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHILE THE CAR IS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AT A COMPLETE HALT, WHEN PUSHING ON THE GAS PEDAL TO MOVE FORWARD, THERE IS A WAITING DELAY OF A SECOND AND THEN THE CAR SURGES FORWARD. THE DELAYED RESPONSE WHERE THE CAR DOES NOT IMMEDIATELY ACCELERATE WHEN PUSHING ON THE GAS CAN HAPPEN AFTER BEING IN A COMPLETE STOP AT AN INTERSECTION, OR ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE COMPLETE STOPPING DURING TRAFFIC. EVEN WHEN PUSHING HARDER ON THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE FORWARD, THE CAR STILL HAS A DELAYED RESPONSE AND THEN SURGES FORWARD AND THIS HAPPENS WHEN ENTERING INTO AN INTERSECTION OR CROSSING THAT HAS PUT ME IN CLOSE CALL SITUATIONS. I AM CURRENTLY AROUND 6077 MILES AND HAVE NOTICED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS ANNOUNCED FOR THE OUTLANDER SPORT 2016 REGARDING ISSUES WITH THE CVT AND A DELAYED ACCELERATION. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALER AND MENTIONED THE RECALL AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE BUT THEY SAID ON THE CARFAX THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SPECIFIC CAR.
NOISE COMING FROM FRONT RIGHT WHEEL HAS BEEN CHANGE WHEEL BEARING HUB 2 TIMES SOUND LIKE METAL WITH METAL ROBING AND WE FIND OUT ALL OF THIS CAR EVEN THE 2017 ARE DOING THE SAME WE ARE AFRAID WILL BE A SECT YOU ISSUE AND CAN BE AN ACCIDENT BEEN IN THE WHEEL THE NOISE MAKE THE NOISE WHEN IS IN MOTION WE HAVE TAKE IT TO DEALER THE CORP DO NOT NOW HOW TO FIXE OR WHAT IS HAPPENING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE STARTED VIBRATING VIOLENTLY AND THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WHEEL BEARING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL OTHER TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,640. UPDATED 03/03/17*LJ *CN
NEW LESS THEN 3000 MILES, TRAVELING ON UTAH HIGHWAY 65-80MPH IN COLD WINTER WEATHER. THE AIRBAG SYSTEM MAINTENANCE NEEDED WARNING COMES ON RANDOMLY, CAUSE UNKNOWN. HOWEVER WE NOTICED WHEN EVER WE ARE USING BOTH CHARGING OUTLETS IN THE FRONT TO CHARGE OUR PHONE AND IPAD WE HAD THE PROBLEM. WHEN WE UNPLUGGED THE CHARGERS THE PROBLEM STOPPED. BUT IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THE AIRBAG SERVICE WARNING WOULD TURN ON FOR AN HOUR AND THEN SHUT OFF FOR THREE COME BACK ON FOR A FEW MINUTES AND SHUT OFF FOR AN HOUR IT WAS ALWAYS VERY RANDOM WHEN AND HOW LONG IT TURNED ON. BUT ONE THING WE ARE CERTAIN OF IS IT DID NOT HAPPEN AND ONLY HAPPENED WHEN BOTH CHARGING OUTLETS WERE BEING USED.
ON 9/19/2016, I PURCHASED A NEW 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER GT AWC. ON 10/3, WE TOOK IT THROUGH ITS FIRST CAR WASH. DURING THE WASH, WATER DRIPPED ONTO MY FACE FROM THE SUNROOF. AFTER THE WASH, WE NOTICED WATER INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER'S DOOR SURROUNDING THE SPEAKER NEAR THE WINDOW. WE PROVIDED PICTURES TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THE CAR WAS DROPPED OFF FOR THIS AND OTHER ISSUES ON 10/6. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE ANY LEAKS AND I PICKED UP THE CAR ON 10/7. ON 10/8, THE VEHICLE LEAKED IN THE SAME LOCATIONS DURING RAINFALL. I EMAILED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT; ATTACHED MORE PICTURES & VIDEO. THE DEALERSHIP SETUP AN APPOINTMENT FOR 10/13. THEY WERE UNABLE TO ADDRESS THE LEAKS AND BROUGHT IN A THIRD PARTY SPECIALIST. THE SPECIALIST CLAIMED TO RESOLVE THE LEAKS ON 10/17. ON 10/27, I TOOK THE VEHICLE THROUGH ITS SECOND CAR WASH. IT LEAKED, ONCE AGAIN. I TOOK (AND PROVIDED) SEVERAL MORE PICTURES AND A VIDEO. ON 10/31, I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE THIRD TIME. I WAS TOLD THAT THE THIRD PARTY SPECIALIST HAD BEEN SCHEDULED TO REASSESS THE VEHICLE ON 11/1. I REQUESTED THAT THE DEALERSHIP TAKE THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE SAME CAR WASH I'D USED TO CONFIRM IT NO LONGER LEAKED ONCE THE SPECIALIST WAS DONE. ON 11/2, I RECEIVED AN UPDATE THAT THE SPECIALIST HAD RESOLVED 'A FEW MORE LEAKS'. THE DEALERSHIP PLANNED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE CAR WASH ONCE SOME PAINT-RELATED ISSUES WERE ADDRESSED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ON 11/5 AND THE ONLY UPDATE THEY WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE AT THAT TIME WAS THAT IT WAS NOT YET READY. EVEN IF THE VEHICLE DOESN'T LEAK DURING THE CAR WASH TEST, I STILL HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT UNRESOLVED LEAKS, WATER DAMAGE, AND\OR MOLD IN AREAS I CAN'T SEE (I.E. WITHIN THE DOOR). FURTHERMORE, I DON'T THINK I'LL EVER BE ABLE TO TRUST THE VEHICLE' THE LEAKS WERE NOT THE ONLY ISSUE; JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. WHILE MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT WITHOUT WARNING. LATER, WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO START. THE FAILURES RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT THE FAILURES COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE CONTACT LATER NOTICED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,000.
EVER SENSE I HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IT HAS HAD A NOISE IN THE FRONT. IT SOUNDS AS IF IT IS COMING FROM THE CONTROL ARM. WHEN IT STARTED GETTING WORSE I CALLED TO TELL THE GUY I BOUGHT IT FROM AND HE SAID THERE WAS A LOT OF PEOPLE THINKING THIS, BUT IT IS JUST A NOISE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR. THIS ONLY HAPPENS IN REVERSE AND IT SOUNDS LIKE A POPPING NOISE COMING FROM THE BOTTOM PASSENGER TIRE. I WILL HAVE THIS LOOKED AT HOPEFULLY ON THURSDAY. ALSO, I HAVE A SMELL OF GAS COMING FROM THE ENGINE WHEN IT EITHER IDLES OR IS DRIVEN FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. I WILL HOPEFULLY HAVE THIS CHECKED OUT AS WELL. ALSO, WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF I SMELL ANTIFREEZE...BADLY IN THE CAR AND ALSO OUTSIDE OF IT NEAR THE GRILL. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION DRAGS WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE OR IF IT HAS BEEN DRIVING FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME.
ON WED. SEPTEMBER 7, 2016, AVIS RENT A CAR AT HOBBY AIRPORT IN HOUSTON, TX RENTED THIS VEHICLE TO ME WITH AN OPEN SAFETY RECALL. I DIDN'T REALIZE IT UNTIL ~15 MINUTES AFTER I LEFT THE AIRPORT AND THE TIRE BLEW OUT ON THE FREEWAY. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY GET OFF THE FREEWAY, I PULLED INTO A GAS STATION AND INSPECTED THE CAR. FINDINGS INCLUDE: 1) LOW TIRE GAUGE LIGHT ON (AFTER LEAVING THE AIRPORT, BEFORE THE TIRE BLEW OUT), 2) WHAT LOOKED LIKE DUCT TAPE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE WINDSHIELD, POSSIBLY INDICATING A NEW WINDSHIELD HAD RECENTLY BEEN INSTALLED 3) A BROKEN TAIL LIGHT ON THE LEFT REAR 4) THE KEY TAG HAD THE PHRASE "SAFETY RECALL" ON IT AND 5) THE TIRE BLEW OUT. I CALLED AVIS EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND WHAT I FOUND. I TOLD THEM I WAS NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE CAR AS IT APPEARED TO HAVE A SAFETY RECALL AND POSSIBLY HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO BRING THE CAR BACK TO HOBBY AIRPORT. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE REPLACED THE DAMAGED TIRE, AND I DROVE THE CAR TO THE NEAREST AVIS APPROXIMATELY 6 MILES AWAY AND EXCHANGED THE CAR. WHEN I RETURNED THE 2ND CAR, I TOLD THE LADY WHO CHECKED IN THE CAR WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE 1ST CAR. SHE INFORMED A MANAGER AND CAME BACK TO ME. SHE SAID, HER MANAGER SAID THE CAR WAS ON A RECALL AND SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN RENTED. THE MANAGER ALSO TOLD HER I COULD SUE AVIS. MY INTENTION FOR SHARING THIS IS I AM NOT CONVINCED AVIS WILL DO ANYTHING DIFFERENT TO ENSURE SOMEONE ELSE DOESN'T END UP WITH A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. I RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE AND AM AWARE A LAW WAS PASSED TO PREVENT THIS TYPE OF SITUATION. I CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY. I HOPE YOU HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO FOLLOW UP WITH AVIS TO ENSURE ALL SAFETY PRACTICES ARE ADHERED TO 100% OF THE TIME AND IF SOMEONE CALLS ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE EXPRESSING CONCERN AS I DID, THEY DON'T PUT SOMEONE'S LIFE IN JEOPARDY A 2ND TIME.
RESPECTFULLY, WE BOUGHT OUR BRAND NEW 2016 OUTLANDER FROM THE DEALERSHIP THIS MAY. MY WIFE REAR ENDED A CAR LESS THAN A MONTH LATER ON THE HIGHWAY. SHE SAID THE CAR DIDN'T STOP WHEN SHE HIT THE BRAKES AND THAT THE BRAKES DON'T WORK. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED BY GEICO FOR $20K DAMAGE PAID AND SHE SAID SHE WASN'T DRIVING IT ANYMORE. SHE HAD MULTIPLE INJURIES FROM THE AIRBAGS AND SAW THE DOCTOR. AFTER REPAIRS, WE ENDED UP SWITCHING CARS AND THE OUTLANDER BECAME MY CAR AND I NOTICED THAT IT SEEMED VERY HEAVY LIKE IT WAS SURGING FORWARD AND RESISTED STOPPING. TWO MONTHS LATER I CHANGED THE OIL ON THE OTHER CAR, SO I ASKED HER TO TAKE THE OUTLANDER JUST FOR THE DAY. SHE DIDN'T WANT TO DRIVE IT, BUT I SAID JUST BE VERY CAREFUL. SHE HAD A SECOND ACCIDENT THAT DAY ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING $10K DAMAGES FOR REPAIR AND THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED THIS TIME AND HER HEAD, CHEST AND KNEES HIT HARD AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL AND DASHBOARD AND HER BACK SNAPPED AND SHE IS SEEING A CHIROPRACTOR NOW FOR THE PAIN. SHE IS A GOOD DRIVER AND HAS NEVER HIT ANYONE FROM BEHIND AND NOW HAS DONE SO TWO TIMES IN TWO MONTHS? AGAIN SHE TOLD ME THE CAR DIDN'T STOP WHEN SHE STEPPED ON THE BRAKES. LAST WEEK WE RECEIVED A FACTORY RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL FOR THE ACCELERATOR. I TOOK THE CAR IN THIS SATURDAY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. WHEN I DROVE THE CAR AFTER THE REPAIR AND APPLIED THE BRAKES NOW IN COMPARISON TO BEFORE IT STOPS VERY WELL AND IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT. I BELIEVE MITSUBISHI'S DEFECTIVE ACCELERATION SYSTEM IS THE CAUSE OF MY WIFE'S INJURIES TO HER HEAD, BACK AND KNEES. THIS ACCIDENT IS NOT MY WIFE'S FAULT AT ALL. I AM SURE THAT THIS DEFECT IN THE ACCELERATOR SYSTEM WAS THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENTS AND I AM ASKING THE NHTSA TO PLEASE RECTIFY THIS WITH MITSUBISHI FOR US TO FIND CAUSE TO BE PLACED ON MITSUBISHI'S FAULTY VEHICLE NOT US. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
PURCHASED NEW VEHICLE WITH 9 MILES ON THE CAR. AT 283 MILES (ON A ROAD TRIP DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY) THE "POWER STEERING SERVICE REQUIRED" NOTIFICATION CAME ON AND I COULD NOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. ONCE HOME, TOOK THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND "NO SYSTEM FAILURE" CAME UP ON THE MACHINE AT THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD TO CALL BACK IF IS HAPPENS AGAIN. TOOK THE CAR HOME AND AT 788 MILES THE SAME INCIDENT OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND COMING OUT OF A SHOPPING CENTER (1459 MILES) AND I COULD NOT TURN MY WHEEL. AT 1459 MILES, THE CAR WAS TOWED TO NEAREST DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM ON A BRAND NEW 2016 CAR. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ON A BRAND NEW CAR AND I WAS IN TRAFFIC WITH MY INFANT SON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, IT INDEPENDENTLY SURGED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE STOPPED BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
PAINT IS CHIPPING AFTER CAR WASH
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. WHILE MAKING A TURN, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.
THE PAINT ON THE HOOD IS CHIPPING ONLY AFTER 2,000 MILES AND ITS SECOND CAR WASH! I PARK MY NEW CAR IN THE GARAGE AND DON'T EVEN TAKE IT TO WORK, IT'S ONLY MY WEEKEND VEHICLE. MY 12 YEAR OLD SATURN'S PAINT JOB LOOKS BETTER THAN MY 3 MONTH OLD NEW MITSUBISHI. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY NO CLEAR COAT ON TOP, OR PRIMER UNDER THE PAINT. WHEN COMPARED TO "DINGS" ON MY 12 YEAR OLD SATURN, IT IS OBVIOUS THERE ARE A FEW LAYERS OF MATERIAL BEFORE IT GETS DOWN TO THE BODY - WITH THE MITSUBISHI, IT'S JUST PAINT AND THEN METAL. I HAD THE WESTERN REGIONAL MANAGER, BILL FORDYCE, INSPECT MY VEHICLE, AND DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE PAINT IS CLEARLY CHIPPING OFF IN MORE THAN ONE SPOT ON THE HOOD, HE HAD THE AUDACITY TO SAY IT WAS DAMAGE CAUSED BY ROCKS. I POINTED OUT TO HIM THAT IF THE QUALITY OF THE PAINT JOB HAD BEEN BETTER, THE PAINT WOULD NOT HAVE FLAKED. ON THE LOT, THE NEXT CLOSEST MITSUBISHI ALSO HAD SIMILAR DAMAGE. I POINTED THIS OUT TO HIM AND HIS RESPONSE WAS THAT IT WAS HIS VEHICLE AND HE WAS AWARE OF IT. I WANTED MY HOOD PAINTED CORRECTLY, BUT HE REFUSED AND SAID THAT ESSENTIALLY, THIS IS THE QUALITY OF WORK OF MITSUBISHI. DO NOT BUY A MITSUBISHI!
