The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Maxima. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the codes were cleared; however, two days later the warning light returned. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer but was not yet diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 59,000.
I would have my cruise control set and it would detect I was too close to another vehicle (which there was no other vehicle anywhere). The cruise would shut off, and I would be unable to reset my cruise due to the radar sensor problems. This has not yet evolved a collision or other accidents. I know that this is dangerous to the point of relying on something and then it just stop whenever it wants. I do not wish any accidents, but it sounds as though if no one has been seriously injured or even death that this would be a continuing thing and somehow cost the owner money to fix a Nissan problem. I would also have my cruise set and it would detect a vehicle in front of me, and instead of adapting to the vehicle's speed it would beep then turn off. All while in morning traffic, and would have to manual accelerate since it no longer was working. I have taken my Maxima to the local Nissan Dealer ship with no positive out come.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Maxima. The contact stated the vehicle was unable to recognize the key fob inside the vehicle while attempting to start the vehicle. The contact stated a warning message was illuminated to keep the key fob close to the push to start button. The contact called the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the key fob battery to be replaced. The key fob battery was changed but continued to experience the failure. The contact also stated that the vehicle was also stalling. The contact took the vehicle to Paul Miller Nissan (930 Kings Hwy E, Fairfield, CT 06825: (203) 335-3181) where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission and the crankshaft sensor to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
October 25, 2021 At 4:30 PM. After waiting for the light to turn green, I enter the Clear Lake Park making a left a right and left turn into the park. While turning left that’s when I notice a decreased in power, and an exclamation symbo, but the car kept advancing very smooth!! But when I tried to park the vehicle it started shaking, vibrating with a roaring sound, it felt like even the tires ware going to get off the rims!! Making a lot of noice!! I had difficulty steering and parking between two spaces hit the concrete barrier twice or tree times, at that time the steering wheel was to hard to control. I turn the car off on parked I was puzzled, for what happened. After five or ten minutes I start the car again place it on reverse then on drive the car was moving very, very, slow with the gas paddle to the floor. Advance to the other side by the Community Center, as I turn left to park, the car started shaking again the steering wheel was very, very hard to control turning left but the force of the tires ware moving right. I was holding on to the steering wheel trying to park again at this time the car completely die on me. By then it was almost 5:00 PM. I called my insurance to request roadside assistance, and a wrecker service that didn’t arrived. After one hour and half a driver came to help to start the battery, he attempted to start the battery twice. This happened after one of my sons had tried two times too. Finally the car starts again, after dealing with it for 4 hours. Drove it for a quarter of a block and died again. The wrecker service came the next day to drive the car to Clear Lake Nissan, they kept the car for two days and supposedly didn’t find anything wrong with it. If this problem had happened on Nassau, road probably I would had been killed. Today the 29th of October, After doing some errands and returning home a symbol of a transmission came on the dashboard while the car was loosing power it hardly made it up to my driveway
driving the vehicle gives no indication it power off car will not start up when you try half an hour later it may start may not start driving it shut off again power shortage code may not come up when it happens it don’t give any warning when you driving on the highway regular roads it just gives no warning sign it just power off completely at is not safety to drive
The vehicle does not accelerate and it jerks, whines and cuts off. the repair shop mechanic said he would not touch it without new transmission. the engine light is on, sometimes it blinks but not 100% of the time. It also won't get any power and cuts off on incline.
I was driving and it all of a sudden shut off on me without warning causing safety issues because I was involved the middle of traffic
My 2016 Maxima SL has a faulty CVT transmission. It shakes, stutters and has no power on acceleration. It is a safety concern because I could easily pull out into traffic and my car will not accelerate. The problem has been confirmed by a Nissan dealership. It has been inspected. There are no warning lights or any dashboard indications that something is faulty.
Four times while I was driving the accelerator was unresponsive. Then the car completely died while driving. The problem is definitely a safety issue due to engine and accelerator stopping while driving. We took it to a good year dealer who originally thought it was battery and replaced it. But that did not solve the problem. Then a Nissan dealer received a code that it’s the cvt transmission.Nissan has had this issue with many of their cars and had a class action suit brought against them. I spoke with Nissan Corp about extending warranty and repairing the cvt transmission which is an expensive repair. They refuse. The car is extremely unsafe to drive since it may not accelerate and then completely die at any time.
I first experienced this problem before January 2021. While driving the car it will suddenly experience a loss of power while stepping on the gas. It will do this under normal driving conditions. It has done it while I am driving straight on a street or highway or when I am turning a corner. I have narrowly missed being rear-ended or broad sided when it does it. I took it to Ingram Park Nissan in San Antonio January 2021 and they told me the problem was a bad battery. I had them replace it. (I am an over-the road truck driver and don't drive the car very often since I am usually on the road for 2-3 weeks at a time. There are times that I have only driven the car less than 75 miles when I come home and the car won't always lose power.) The car has continued to have the same problem. I took it in to Ancira Nissan at the manufacturers request on 8-3-21. They diagnosed the problem as being a bad battery and alternator. I had them replaced and picked up the car on 8-14-21. While driving the car later on in the evening on 8-14-21 I experienced the same problem. Ancira had the car for 11 days and it is still not fixed. I don't know exactly what component or system is failing and Nissan doesn't seem to know as well. When the problem occurs several lights will come on on the dash (traction control, ABS, air bag, seat belt, a triangle with an exclamation point). There are other Nissan Maxima owners who have posted comments on car websites who are experiencing the same problems. The other owners have said that they have had their cars misdiagnosed by dealers and continue to have the same problem. The problem seems to be mainly happening with 2016 and 2017 Nissan Maximas. I worry that the car will lose power when I least expect it and cause someone to crash into me.
Vehicle shut down , while driving would not accelerate
2016 Nissan Maxima SR, problem started at 22000 miles, car runs fine, then when hitting a bump or railroad tracks, and sometime while accelerating at a light or from a stop the car goes into limp mode, max speed is apx 6 mph just enough to get it off road, at times it stalls in the intersection or when you come to a stop. Traction control light and engine light come on until you shut car down and restart. engine light remains on solid but can be driven in most cases, at times it turns over then stalls, if you wait long enough it usually resets snd is drivable. Has several DTC codes when checked on of them is P1735 and a few others. It’s dangerous because you lose the ability to get properly through an intersection or to get by traffic on highway or side street, I have put my emergency lights on several times when this has happened. After reviewing TSB’s Technical Service Bullatans it seems I am not alone with this issue.
05/21/21--2016 Nissan Maxima with CVT tranmissions problems. No current recalls, but lots of lemon law cases from 2012-2018 with all models except the maxima. Have 94K on it and was driving and it stopped mid street almost threw my son out the front windshield. Took it to Nissan $4800 to replace. Bought vehicle with CVT transmission being sold as "smoothness". but in reality it has been a complete nightmare that Nissan ignores on the maximas.
2016 NISSAN MAXIMA WITH LOW MILEAGE OF 47,000 MILES HAS A BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE DEALERS' SHOP WITHIN LAST 2 YEARS TO GET DEALING WITH ISSUES SUCH AS TRANSMISSION REPLACED. BATTERY CHARGING LIGHT AND BRAKE INDICATOR LIGHT FLASHING ON AND OFF SINCE LAST CAR SHOP VISIT. BURNING SMELL AFTER DRIVING FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. DEALER SERVICE TECH CLAIMS HE DOESN'T GET THE FLASHING LIGHT WHILE OUT TEST DRIVING VEHICLE. ON 4/7/21, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STOPS IN MIDDLE OF PARKING LOT AND WOULD NOT START BACK UP. HAVING IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. CAR CURRENTLY IN SHOP FOR ALMOST TWO WEEKS. IT WAS JUST DISCOVERED TODAY, 4/20/21 THE ALTERNATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACE FOR THE 3RD TIME.
TWICE ON THE HIGHWAY IF HAD ISSUES WHERE THE CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AND A FEW TIMES IT'S SEEM TO LOSE POWER AND THAN COMPENSATE AND COMPLETELY LAUNCH LEADING TO A QUICK JERKING MOTION. I'M AFRAID THAT IT COULD COMPLETELY STOP ON THE HIGHWAY OR ACCELERATE INTO SOMETHING. OTHER THAN THAT THERE'S NO ISSUES BUT THIS IS CONCERNING SINCE I'M ALWAYS GIVING FAMILY MEMBER RIDES INCLUDING A PREGNANT WIFE SO IT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO IN MY OPINION IT COULD BE A HUGE DISASTER IF IT HAPPENS TO AN INEXPERIENCED DRIVER. *ALSO I'M NOT SURE OF THE EXACT DATE OF WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I JUST WANT TO MAKE THAT KNOWN SINCE THAT'S ONE OF THE QUESTIONS ASKED.
I PURCHASED A 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA AT 57,000. THE VEHICLE HAD UNDERGONE PROPER SERVICING AND WAS IN GREAT SHAPE. AT 62,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT DRIVE. WHILE HEADING HOME FROM WORK I FELT MY ENTIRE VEHICLE BEGIN TO SHAKE. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND THERE WAS A 10 SECOND DELAY BEFORE IT BEGAN TO MOVE, AFTERWARDS, IT IMMEDIATELY JOLTED AND VIBRATED RIGOROUSLY. I DECIDED TO PROCEED WITH CAUTION AND PULL MY VEHICLE OVER BEFORE IT CAUSED ME TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. WHEN PUT INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE WITH THE BRAKE RELEASED THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED THE RPMS WOULD FLUTTER BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I FIRST THOUGHT THAT NISSAN'S NOTORIOUS CVT PROBLEM HAD PLAGUED MY VEHICLE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET MY TRANSMISSION INSPECTED AT ROUTE 23 NISSAN IN NUTLEY, NEW JERSEY, AND I HAD CONTACTED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA'S CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT. AFTER DROPPING THE VEHICLE OFF AT ROUTE 23 NISSAN, NISSAN'S CONSUMERS AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT GOT BACK TO ME WITHIN 48 HOURS AND INFORMED ME THAT NISSAN HAD NO INTEREST IN RECTIFYING THE SITUATION BECAUSE THERE WAS NO RECALL AND IT WAS 'OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD.' THE COMPANY MUST BE WAITING FOR THE FIRST DEATH TO OCCUR SIMILAR TO THE TAKATA INCIDENT. IF THIS SITUATION WERE TO OCCUR WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN THE INJURY OF OTHERS AND MYSELF. NISSAN TECHNICIANS DETERMINED THAT THE XTRONIC CVT HAD A COMPLETE FAILURE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE REPAIR COST IS WELL OVER $4,000.
ON 1/31/2021 I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE CAR LOST ACCELERATION. I HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE LEFT SHOULDER BEFORE I BECOME A HAZARD. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THE CAR STARTED CLICKING AS IF I HAD A DEAD BATTERY. THE CAR STARTED AFTER SITTING FOR 10 MINUTES. THE CAR ACCELERATED LIKE NORMAL BUT LOST ALL ACCELERATION AFTER 2 MILES. I CALLED TOW. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM I HAD A FEW MONTHS BEFORE AND HAD TO BE TOWED. AAA CHECKED THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY AND THE CHARGING SYSTEM WAS SHOWING NORMAL. THIS IS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM THAT COMES AND GO BUT CAN NOT BE DIAGNOSED BECAUSE OF NO ACTIVE CODES. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT CAN LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT.
TUESDAY, DEC. 22 MY 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA JUST SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING IN HAYWARD, CA NEAR INDUSTRIAL RD. CALLED TRIPLE AAA WHO JUMPED THE BATTERY AND A SHORT DISTANCE LATER ON HWY 880 THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN, I WAS TOWED OFF THE FREEWAY BY CALTRANS. ON JANUARY 4, IT SHUT OFF AGAIN WHILE ON A CITY STREETS. A CO-WORKERS HUSBAND REPLACED THE BATTERY AND I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE IT HOME. JAN. 30 A MECHANIC LOOKED AT RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. I DROVE IT WITHOUT ISSUE SEVERAL TIMES FROM EL CERRITO TO SAN RAFAEL THE WEEK. ON FEB. 5 WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREETS IN OAKLAND, THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF. WHILE WAITING FOR AAA IT STARTED AGAIN BY THE TIME AAA ARRIVED IT HAD STOPPED AGAIN. LUCKILY THIS HASN'T CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. IT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE. AND WHILE I SEE THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE REPORTED HERE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP ONLY WANTS TO CHARGE ME $190 TO DIAGNOSTICS WHEN THEY KNOW THIS IS AN ISSUE. THIS ISSUE IS A TICKING TIME BOMB FOR A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OCCURS AND NISSAN NEEDS TO ADDRESS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
SEAT WILL NOT LET UP BUT WILL GO BACKWARDS.
VEHICLE STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC IT LOOSES POWER WITH N WARNING AT ALL. I TOOK TO THE VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP ON 11/7/2020 AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE WHAT HAPPEN AND STATED THEY PLACED IT ON THE COMPUTER WITH NO CODES SHOWING. ON THE WAY HOME 11/12/20 AS I WAS ENTERING TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY 85 I LOST POWER AGAIN I WAS ALMOST HIT BY TWO VEHICLES. I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR 3 TIMES BEFORE IT TOOK OFF VERY FAST. I WILL BE CALLING THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN TODAY

UPON PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL. I WILL PUSH THE ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. I HAVE TO HIT THE PEDAL 2-4 TIMES TO GET THE CAR TO ACCELERATE. THIS OCCURS AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT OR INTERSECTION. THE SAME HAS JUST HAPPENED WITH MY WIFE'S 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. SHE WAS AT AN INTERSECTION. MY CAR THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON AND OFF FOR 2 MONTHS. MY WIFE'S CAR, HER FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED TODAY. MINE HAPPENED 2X TODAY. WE BOTH PURCHASED ARE CARS FROM THE SAME NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN CLINTON, NC.
AFTER A RECALL SERVICE FOR AN ABS ACTUATOR, THE F.E.B. LIGHT ACTIVATES FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER. VEHICLE WILL DISENGAGE CRUISE CONTROL.
WHILE DRIVING MY SON AND I TO THE STORE THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WITH CARS COMING. WE WE ALMOST HIT BY A TRUCK. WHEN I APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR STAYED ON 0 MPH BUT THE RPM MOVED. AFTER ABOUT 5 SECONDS THE CAR BEGAN ACCELERATING AGAIN. IT ALSO MADE A LOUD WHINING NOISE AFTERWARD. THE NISSAN DEALER SAID THE CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR JUST HIT 80,000 MILES.
DRIVER SEAT, SEAT BELT LIGHT WILL NOT ILLUMINATE IF NOT BUCKLED UP SEAT DOESN'T DETECT WHEN THERE IS SOMEONE IN IT AND THEY AREN'T BUCKLED. *TR
THE TIRE MAINTENANCE NOTIFICATION STAYS ON AFTER THE TIRES HAVE BEEN PROPERLY ROTATED BY A TIRE SHOP AND RESET ON DASHBOARD AND IT PULLS TO THE RIGHT BEEN DOING THIS COMPLAINT MADE TO DEALERSHIP NO RESPONSE AND NOW RECEIVED NOTIFICATION THAT THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ON MY CAR. IT DOES IT WHILE DRIVING THE PULLING TO THE RIGHT AND THE TIRE MAINTENANCE STAYS ON. *TR
MY MAXIMA IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND IT STARTED JUMPING AND HESITATING WHILE DRIVING. THE NISSAN REPAIR SHOP SAID THAT MY TRANSMISSION IS BAD AND IT LOOKS LIKE 'GLITTER' INSIDE.THEY HAVE TO REPLACE IT. APPARENTLY NISSAN HAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM BECAUSE OF THESE CVT TRANSMISSIONS. THEY ARE NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THE PROBLEM WITH THE MAXIMAS BECAUSE THEY SAID IT IS NOT HAPPENING AS OFTEN AS IN THE SMALLER CARS. MY CAR IS A LITTLE BIT OUT OF WARRANTY SO THEY STILL MADE ME PAY A PORTION OF THE TRANSMISSION EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW IT WOULD BREAK. ITS NOT RIGHT THEY SHOULD BE COVERING A 4 YEAR OLD CARS TRANSMISSION GOING BAD IN FULL WHEN THEY KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEMS. *TR
CAR IDLING, JERKING AND HESITATING AT 30MPH. WHEN ACCELERATING IT DOES NOT. THE CAR IS GOING BUT FROM A SLOW SPEED GOING TO A HIGHER MPH, IT WILL STAY STUCK AND IF YOU FLOOR IT, IT JUST WON'T MOVE. THIS IS DANGEROUS. IT'S HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY THREE TIMES. NOW THE BRAKE FLUID IS LEAKING EVERYWHERE. THIS IS A SECOND ISSUE. TRANSMISSION. ENGINE. CVT, ECM ISSUE AND MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR AND PVC SENSOR MUST NOT BE ON CORRECTLY. I HAVE VIDEOS. THE SERVICE DEPT HAS SEEN THEM BUT THEY CAN'T SEEM TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. *TR

ADDITIONALLY, AFTER THE CRASH THE 4 DOORS WERE UNABLE TO BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE AND RESCUED THE DRIVER FROM THE VEHICLE BY BREAKING THE WINDOW. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT APPROXIMATELY 40 MINUTES AFTER THE CRASH THE DOORS WERE ABLE TO BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND NO MEDICAL TREATMENT WAS REQUIRED. MY FOOT WAS ALL THE DOWN ON THE GAS PETAL TOUCHING THE FLOOR. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE, THANK GOODNESS. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO SCARED IN MY LIFE. I DO HAVE A VIDEO OF IT HAPPENING,
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE. WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE SPEED BEGAN TO DECELERATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE MULTIPLE TIMES. IN DECEMBER OF 2019, THE IGNITION FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE BATTERY WAS CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND THEN TOWED TO PASSPORT NISSAN (LOCATED AT 5000 AUTH WAY, CAMP SPRINGS, MD 20746, (301) 423-8400). I WENT IN A RESTAURANT AND WHEN I CAME OUT TO START MY CAR IT WOULD NOT START OUT OF NOW WHERE NO WARNING SIGNS IT JUST MADE SOME CLICKING SOUND LIKE IT WAS ATTEMPTING TO START BUT WOULD NOT CATCH. I REPLACED THE BATTERY BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND IT LACKED POWER. IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 60 WITH IT BEING FLOORED... I HAD DIAGNOSTIC DONE WHICH GAVE ME A COULD THAT THE ECM (ELECTRIC CONTROL MODULE) SHORTED..
ON APRIL 26, 2019 WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE AS I ENTERED INTO TRAFFIC AND INSTEAD LOST POWER AND WOULD GO NO MORE THAN 9 MPH AS I APPLIED MAXIMUM PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL. AT THE SAME TIME THE CAR BECAME HARD TO STEER AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTED IT. THE CAR STARTED BUT WITHOUT POWER TO ACCELERATE AND I SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE AGAIN. I WAITED AND RESTARTED A FEW MORE TIMES AND IT EVENTUALLY RESTARTED. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND THEY PERFORMED A RECALL. THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN ON MAY 9, 2019 AND AGAIN ON MAY 17, 2019. THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY LOSES THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WHILE AND HAS SO LITTLE POWER THAT THE MAX SPEED IS LESS THEN 10MPH. THE VEHICLE IS ALWAYS IN MOTION HAPPENS.
SUN ROOF , WHISTLES SO LOUDLY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 65, DOES NOT SEAL PROPERLY.
THE WHEEL IS TURN SLIGHTLY TO THE RIGHT SO IT SEEMS LIKE IT'S PERFECTLY STRAIGHT BUT IN REALITY IT'S NOT. NOW DO YOU SEE I HAVE PUT THE MARKS(THIS IS WHERE I'M NOTICING UNALIGNMENT) IF I PUT THE WHEEL PERFECTLY STRAIGHT THE WHEEL AND STEERING COLUMN PLASTIC WILL NOT BE ALIGNED FROM THE RIGHT SIDE. NOW THE CAR HOLDS ITS LINES, DOES NOT PULL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. I'M JUST WONDERING IF IT'S MECHANICAL OR PLASTIC COVER WENT OFF A BIT OR IT'S BEEN LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME. KINDA STRANGE TO NOTICE. ITS REALLY DANGEROUS SOMETIMES CAUSE I AM TRYING TO MAKE IT STRAIGHT AND I FIND MY SELF GOING SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT. I TOLD MY DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS AND ALL HE RESPONDED ... OH WELL NO MORE PERFECTION THESE DAYS. NOT PROFESSIONAL THOUGH I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MAXIMA'S FOR A WHILE NOW I HAVE NEVER FOUND A SINGLE IMPERFECTION LIKE THIS.
WHEN I TURN MY HEAT UP , MY CAR SMELLS OF GASOLINE.. I HAVE SPOKE WITH ONES I KNOW WHO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM, ARE WE THE ONLY ONES WHO HAVE THE PROBLEM.. PLEASE SPEAK ON THIS...THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION HIGHWAY OR CITY STREETS..THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVERY SINCE I OWNED THIS CAR. I WAS TOLD ITS MY IMAGINATION,
CRUISE CONTROL DROPS OUT WHILE ENGAGED UNDER ALL ROAD/WEATHER CONDITIONS. DASHBOARD INDICATION "FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION" SEEMS WELL DOCUMENTED ONLINE FOR SEVERAL OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES. SYSTEM WILL RESET ITSELF AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES, BUT ALSO DROPS OUT AND IS NON-FUNCTIONAL INTERMITENTLY, ESSENTIALLY MAKING THE TRACKING CRUISE CONTROL INOPERABLE.
PASSENGER HEADLAMP FAIL, TOOK TO NISSAN, THEY CLAIM THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE FAIL. I FEEL LIKE MY FAMILIES LIFE IS NOW AT STAKE.

THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE PUMP LEAKED BRAKE FLUID ONTO A CIRCUIT BOARD, CAUSING AN ELECTRICAL FIRE WHICH CAUSED MY CAR TO CATCH ON FIRE. THIS RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE BEING TOTALED OUT . THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY FOR ABOUT 12 HOURS IN FRONT OF HOME. WHILE ON FIRE THE VEHICLE STARTED ITSELF UP WITHOUT ANYONE BEING IN THE VEHICLE.
VEHICLE HEADLAMP FAILED ACCORDING TO THE NISSAN DEALER WE TOOK IT TO. THEY CLAIMED THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE FAIL. NOW I'M FREAKED OUT TO DRIVE CAR THINKING ABOUT WHAT IF THE OTHER FAILS COMPLETELY. THEY WILL DO NOTHING TO FIX IT. ITS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I DON'T WANT TO GET INTO A WRECK IF THE HEADLAMPS FAIL ON BOTH SIDES. THEY ARE PUTTING MYSELF AND DAUGHTER AT RISK.
PASSENGER RUNNING LIGHT QUIT WORKING, HEADLAMP ITSELF WORKS. TOOK TO LOCAL NISSAN DEALER. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE JUST FAIL. DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD IF THEY ARE JUST FAILING
WHILE TRAVELING DOWN A ROAD AT 40+ MPH, AVOIDED HITTING A DEER THAT JUMPED OUT, APPLIED THE BRAKES TO NO AVAIL AND IMPACTED A TREE THAT WAS OFF CENTER OF THE HOOD ON INITIAL IMPACT AND NO AIRBAGS INFLATED ANYWHERE WITHIN THE VEHICLE.

I TOOK THE CARS TO NISSAN, BUT THEY TRYING TO CHARGE ME OVER $1000 TO HAVE IT FIXED AND CLEARLY ITS A NISSAN ISSUE. I HAVE READ OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
SO I HAVE HAD MY NISSAN FOR A YEAR NOW AND I HAVE NEVER HIT ANYONE AND NO ONE HAS EVER HIT ME. SO AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK MY MIRROR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, THE ONE OUTSIDE, JUST CAME OFF AND WENT FLYING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD SPORADICALLY DECELERATE WITHOUT WARNING. VEHICLE HAS HEAVY FOGGING OF PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WHICH HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY EVIDENT. THE SYMPTOM HAS PROGRESSED TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS CAUSING ELECTRICAL ISSUES IN THE FORM OF FLICKERING HEADLIGHTS AND INCONSISTENT DIRECTIONAL SIGNALS WHEN THE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE WET ENOUGH. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. ONE PHOTO I HAVE TAKEN REVEALS WHAT IS AN APPARENT INTERNAL CRACK IN THE ASSEMBLY. THIS WAS NOT CAUSED BY ANY EXTERNAL FORCES, IMPACT, ETC. IT IS INTERNAL TO THE ASSEMBLY.
I EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF BRAKE PRESSURE WHEN STARTING MY CAR AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR ONLY FROM A LOW SPEED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE CLOSEST DEALER, MARTIN NISSAN IN SKOKIE IL. THE DEALER REPORTED A FLUID LEAK AND THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD FAILED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER BUT STILL OBSERVED THAT THERE WAS STILL A LOSS OF BRAKE PRESSURE. THE DEALER THEN REPLACED THE ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR WHICH RESOLVED THE BRAKE PRESSURE ISSUE. THE ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE BEFORE ON THIS VEHICLE, ONCE UNDER NHTSA SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN 16V193000 AND ONCE UNDER NHTSA SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN 16V636000.

STEERING/STRAIGHT LINE TRACKING ON THIS NISSAN MAXIMA SV (PURCHASED 06/28/2016) IS HORRIBLY UNPREDICTABLE FROM IT'S DATE OF PURCHASE. DRIVER REQUIRED TO BE HYPERSENSITIVE TO CORRECTING TRACKING/LINE DIRECTION OF AFOREMENTIONED VEHICLE. NATURAL TENDENCY OF FRONT WHEELS ARE TO CAREEN TO LEFT AND RIGHT ABRUPTLY AND DANGEROUSLY WITH THE RESULT BEING TO MOVE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE OR DRIFT QUICKLY OUTSIDE OF PAINTED LANE LINES. CONSTANT AND INORDINATE ATTENTION IS NEEDED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT SPEEDS OF 50 MPH OR HIGHER. IN MOTION, HIGHWAY, STRAIGHT PATHS.
WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON INTERSTATE 10 HATING WEST TOWARDS TEXAS ON VACATION THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. I FEEL THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE THAT TEMPERED GLASS IS BEING USED FOR A SUNROOF ABOVE A DRIVER AND NOT LAMINATED GLASS.
2016 NISSAN MAXIMA BREAKS SQUEAK ON EVERY STOP. DEALER, HEARS THE NOISE, CLAIMS RESURFACED ROTORS, SANDED BREAK PADS HOWEVER THE NOISE PERSISTS. CONCERN OVER THE RELIABILITY OF THE BREAKING SYSTEM. HAD DEALER LOOK AT THE BREAKS 5 SEPARATE APPOINTMENTS. THEY NOW SAY THE NOISE IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PADS AND I HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT. MY CONCERN IS THERE MAY BE A DEEPER ISSUE THAT THEY ARE NOT ADDRESSING. I COMMUTE 100 MILES DAILY ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. I AM EXPRESSING THIS CONCERN FOR SOMEONE TO LOOK INTO THE SAFETY OF THIS ISSUE. NEW CAR BREAKS JUST DON'T SQUEAL ON EACH BREAKING ACTION. PLEASE REVIEW AND ADVISE ME OF ANY AVENUE THAT I CAN USE TO GET THIS ADDRESSED AS WELL AS TAKE MY COMMENTS TO ADDRESS OTHERS WITH THE SAME CONCERN. THANK YOU.
IN LATE NOVEMBER 2016 THE ABS AND OTHER WARNING LIGHTS ON MY 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA BEGAN INTERMITTENTLY APPEARING ON THE DASHBOARD. I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD TO MENTION IT DURING THE NEXT SERVICE APPOINTMENT WHICH WAS SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 27. AT THE APPOINTMENT I WAS NOTIFIED OF SEVERAL RECALLS AND THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT OVERNIGHT. WHEN I PICKED IT UP THE NEXT DAY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INDICATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE ISSUE. I WAS ALSO NOTIFIED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON AN ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR PUMP HOWEVER THE PART WAS BACK ORDERED FROM NISSAN. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ASKED ME AND TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE DASH IF THE INDICATOR LIGHTS APPEARED AGAIN. APPROXIMATELY 1 WEEK LATER THE LIGHTS REAPPEARED AND I TOOK THE ATTACHED PHOTO. I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INDICATED THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT WHEN THE RECALL PART WAS INSTALLED AND WOULD SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT ONCE THE PART ARRIVED. ON JANUARY 19, 2017 THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE AFTER SITTING FOR OVER 2 HOURS AND BURNED TO A TOTAL LOSS. AT NO TIME WAS I NOTIFIED THAT THE RECALL WAS A FIRE HAZARD. SINCE THE INCIDENT I HAVE FILED A CASE WITH NISSAN HOWEVER THEY HAVE TAKEN OVER A MONTH TO RESPOND AND BY THE TIME THEY INSPECT THE VEHICLE IT WILL BE OVER 45 DAYS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND ALL INDICATORS POINT TO A DEFECTIVE PART.
DRIVER SEAT "ROCKS" UNDER HARD BRAKING OR LEANING INTO THE SEAT.
WATER VAPOR OR FOG DEVELOPS IN THE HEADLIGHTS WHICH HAVE CAUSE A HAZE ON THE INTERIOR OF THE HEADLAMPS.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A USE CAR DEALER ON 01/31/2017. ON 02/08/2017 MY DAUGHTER TOLD ME TO GO ON LAINEY AND ENTER MY VIN NUMBER BECAUSE THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA SR. I CALLED LYNCH NISSAN AND TOLD THEM I HAD PURCHASED A CAR WITH RECALL ON IT WITH A FIRE HAZARD AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN ON MONDAY, 02/12/2017. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR THE REPAIR AND THEY CALLED ME ON WEDNESDAY, 02/14/2017 TO PICKUP MY CAR. BECAUSE I WAS AT WORK, I ASKED IF I COULD PICK UP THE CAR THE NEXT DAY. I WAS TOLD NO BECAUSE THEY HAD PROVIDED ME A RENTAL CAR AND I HAD TO RETURN IT ON THE DAY THE WORK WAS COMPLETED. ONCE I RETURNED THE RENTAL CAR, I WAS TOLD THE RENTAL CAR WAS FINE. WHEN I WENT TO THE SERVICE CENTER I WAS ASKED TO SIGN A PAPER BUT THEY WOULD HAVE TO MAIL ME THE PAPERS STATING WHAT WAS DONE TO MY CAR. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED TO SIGNED SOMETHING AND THEN TOLD THEY CAN'T PROVIDE ME A COPY. BECAUSE THIS CAR WAS SOLD TO ME WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OF IT HAVING A FIRE HAZARD, I CALLED NISSAN (NESSIE) AND ASKED THEM TO BUY THE CAR BACK AND THEY REFUSED. NISSAN IS NOW SAYING EVERYTHING HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BUT I HAVE NO DOCUMENTATION OF WHAT THEY ASKED ME TO SIGN NOR WHAT TYPE OF WORK WAS PERFORMED ON MY CAR. BECAUSE I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS RECALL BEFORE I PURCHASE THIS CAR AND NOT HAVING A COPY OF WHAT NISSAN ASKED ME TO SIGN, I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR BECAUSE OF THE FIRE HAZARD.

I JUST MERGED ONTO THE HIGHWAY GOING I-55 SOUTH FROM COUNTYLINE RD, WHEN I HEARD A VERY LOUD NOISE SIMILAR TO A GUN SHOT IN CLOSE RANGE AND WAS LITERALLY FRIGHTENING. THEN I HEARD AIR SEEPING THROUGH MY SUNROOF AREA SO I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE I STARTED TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLELY AND I HAD MY 7 MONTH OLD IN THE CAR AS WELL. I WAS ABLE TO LOOK ON TOP OF THE CAR AND SAW THAT THE FRONT SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GRAY DANIELS NISSAN NORTH IN JACKSON, MS. THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS WILL HAVE TO FALL UNDER MY INSURANCE BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY. THIS IS A DEFECT ON HOW THIS MODEL CAR HANDLES PRESSURE CAUSING THE SUNROOF TO EXPLODE! MY EARS AND HEAD ARE ACHING DUE TO THE EXPLOSIVE SOUND.
FRONT BUMPER CLIP WAS BROKEN, STILL WAITING FOR DEALER TO REPLACE BUMPER. LEFT TAIL LIGHT HAS WATER IN IT.
THE OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRRORS AUTOMATICALLY ADJUST TO A LOWER VIEW WHEN THE CAR IS BACKING UP. WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN D (DRIVE), THE MIRRORS ARE SUPPOSED TO RETURN TO THE NORMAL SETTING. THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR DOES NOT; IT NEEDS TO BE MANUALLY RESET EACH TIME.

I FIND IT RIDICULOUS THAT A BRAND NEW CAR WOULD BE RECALLED B4 I EVEN GET 5,000 MILES ESPECIALLY IN A WAY THAT IS DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE FIRE TO MY CAR, SAFETY SHOULD HAVE BEEN GUARANTEED B4 THIS CAR WAS SOLD, I WANTED A DIFFERENT MODEL THAT I WAS TOLD WAS ON SALES HOLD, IF THEY KNEW IT WAS A PROBLEM THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE SOLD US THE CAR!

NHTSA CAMPAIGN #15V486000 & NNA FILE #19808586. NEW FUEL TANK HAS BEEN INSTALLED BY DEALER. I'M NOT COMFORTABLE THAT DEALER INSTALLATION SATISFIES THE SAFETY ISSUE OF A REAR END COLLISION. HAS NHTSA RE-TESTED OR OTHERWISE IS SATISFIED THAT THE FUEL TANK INSTALLED AT DEALER LEVEL (VERSUS BY MANUFACTURER) ELIMINATES THE SAFETY ISSUE? THE CONSUMER WOULD LIKE THE FUEL TANK RE-TESTED.
