The transmission has failed and I am unable to drive forward. This is the second transmission to fail in two years.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Sentra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V135000 (Exterior Lighting) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and it was confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact was concerned about driving the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts are not available.

Airbag did Not deploy when in a multi vehicle accident. Total loss, seat broke during impact, frame bent . Front end and rear end damage. Total hazard. I had maintenance done June 5 at Nissan dealer and was never notified of any open recalls.

Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who informed her of a class-action lawsuit that had been filed against Nissan's CVT transmissions. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed her that she no longer qualified for the warranty extension for the transmission. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.

In the event of an accident this vehicle doors will not open until the key is in the off position and removed from the ignition. You cannot exit the vehicle doors at any time when the motor is running or the key is still in the ignition. Death trap !
The Red Airbag light is always on upon starting car
The car would not start.Yes it was inspected at the car repair shop.I have had to jump start the car many times
As my vehicle was exiting a major highway, the vehicle began to shake and putter. I was able to put my vehicle in park within 1 minute of this puttering. Once in park, the vehicle began to shake more rapidly and louder. I assumed something terrible was going to happen and shut the car off. After an hour and a half, I started the vehicle back up and not to my surprise experienced the puttering and shaking once again. I put the vehicle in drive and began to slowly step on the gas while turning into the road and the car shut completely off and slid back toward the curb with the engine light on and battery. I had to call AAA to have me towed home and on their arrival, they were able to back the vehicle up and forward as long as he pushed down full throttle. The AAA representative suggested through his knowledge of mechanics that it seems there is an issue with either the spark plugs or the fuel pump/filter combo. After changing the spark plugs and still having this issue tonight....we are leaning towards the pump as the issue. There were no lights or warnings prior to the shaking that began as stated in this entry.
I have replaced bumper clips twice. They continue to break off. Please advise whey these plastic clips break off. I'm afraid bumper can break off in highway and cause an accident.
I took my vehicle for the recall and it has not been fixed and it has been a long time. I was told that it has not yet been shipped yet but order placed.

The vehicle loses power and sometimes shakes when trying to accelerate
I was driving onto the highway trying to accelerate past 40mph and the car started jerking really bad. I almost rear ended another vehicle luckily I was able to just avoid them . I quickly pulled over and cut the car off when I cut it back on the check engine light came on. it was around 2am so I drove it home the best That I could and took it to get diagnosed the next morning. I was told the transmission had sent about 4 failure codes and that I would need a new one. The need of a new transmission was confirmed for my the Nissan dealership themselves. My car has never done anything remotely like that before hand. I felt my life was put at grave risk and others around me. Knowing my car had began to had a jerking motion of which is almost very uncontrollable.
THE LIGHT FOR PASSENGER AIRBAG WENT ON AND DOESN'T GO OFF

THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY STARTED AND THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO FIVE STAR NISSAN OF WARNER ROBINS (839 WARREN DR, WARNER ROBINS, GA 31088) WHERE THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN DEALER POSSESSION FOR TWO WEEKS. THE CONTACT THEN STATED THAT UPON RETURN OF THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY FAILED TO OPERATE AS NEEDED, WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10. Consumer stated the following needs to be replaced wiring harness, steering wheel, door handles which are coming off, rear wheel hun, cabin air filter, lube oil and filter service, ABS actuator, front tire wear, key error light, at times vehicle will not start, seat belt light stays on, door rattles on driver's side, transmission replacement, air flow sensor lost calibration, and paint is flaking on rear bumpers.

I WANT TO BE REIMBURSE FOR HAVING TO PAY TO HAVE MY TRANSMISSION REPLACED. THE MILEAGE WAS 108,000 WHEN IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER BECAUSE I DID NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACED FOR JUST UNDER $4000. CALLED NISSAN CORP BACK WHO SENT THE INFO UP FOR REVIEW. ON 01-19-21 I RECEIVED A CALL FROM COLLEEN WHO STATED SHE IS THE DISTRICT MANAGER AND THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY 'HAVE FULFILLED THEIR OBLIGATION'. EACH QUESTION WAS ANSWERED WITH THE SAME VERBATIM RESPONSE. I ASKED TO HAVE THE CASE BE ESCALATED ABOVE COLLEEN DUE TO THE FACT THE TRANSMISSION WENT BAD EARLY DUE TO THEIR FAULTY CVT SYSTEM THEY CONTINUE TO SELL AND HAVE NOT RECALLED. AFTER BEING TOLD SHE DOES NOT HAVE A BOSS, COLLEEN STATED THEY WILL GIVE ME THE SAME ANSWER AS SHE MAKES THE DECISION AND THEY HAVE MET THEIR OBLIGATION. I ASKED SHE ESCALATE IT ANYWAYS. ADDITIONALLY, THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT A LETTER WAS MAILED TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THE TRANSMISSION HOWEVER, THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED THE LETTER. IT IS GARAGE KEPT AND IS MY WIFES ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM WORK AND WE HAVE A 1 YESR OLD DAUGHTER WHO SHE DRIVES SROUND IN THE SENTRA FOR DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS AND TO WORK. WE HAVE TRIED CONTSCTING THE NISSAN OF MUSKOGEE DEALERSHIP TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED AND GET OUR VEHIVLE EITHER REPAIRED OR REPLACED AND NO ONE SEEMS TO BE WILLING TO HELP US NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP OR NISSAN OF AMERICA ON THE ISSUE AT HAND.

I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY MAIL PHONE NOR EMAIL ABOUT THE ISSUE REGARDING THE ISSUES AND WOULDN'T HAVE KNOWN IF THIS PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR.

NOT ALOT OF PEOPLE WANT TO PUT IN THE CLAIM, BUT WHILE DOING MY RESEARCH THERE HAVE BEEN PLENTY OF COMPLAINTS ON DIFFERENT WEBSITES. I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR 3 YEARS. THE VEHICLE WOULD GET MAINTENANCED WHEN NEEDED. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THESE TRANSMISSIONS, BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN FAULTY TRANSMISSION FOR OTHER CVT NISSANS.

SHE RETURNED TO PALM BEACH IN SEPTEMBER .AFTER SHE GOT HOME , THE CAR JUST CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD UNEXPECTED. MY FIANCE TOOK THE CAR FOR A DRIVE AND NOTICE IT DOING THE SAME THING. TOOK IT TO TWO SHOPS WHO INFORMED ME TWO DIFFERENT DIAGNOSIS., ONE BEING THE TRANSMISSION. THEY INFORM ME TO CONTACT NISSAN WHO IN TURN TOLD ME IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. WE HAD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION AT WHICH TIME ON 9/13/2020 , MY DAUGHTER HAD A ACCIDENT DUE TO THE FACT THE CAR COULDN'T PICK UP SPEED FAST ENOUGH TO MERGE INTO THE NEXT LANE . I'M HAPPY MY DAUGHTER WASN'T HURT BUT DEVASTATED THAT THIS CAR , 4 YEARS OLD IN MY POSSESSION ABOUT 4 MONTHS NEEDS A TRANSMISSION REPAIR. AFTER 4 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP I BEGAN EXPERIENCING SEVERE CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUES - I WOULD BE DRIVING UP THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY MY TRANSMISSION WOULD LOSE COMPLETE POWER CAUSING NEAR-ACCIDENT CONDITIONS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE CAR WOULD BE IN MOTION, SOMETIMES IN CRUISE CONTROL WHILE MOVING FORWARD. THE CAR JOLTS BACK AND FORTH VIOLENTLY. WHEN IT LOSES POWER IT CANNOT ACCELERATE AND TYPICALLY GETS STUCK AT 45 MPH. THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 15-20 TIMES IN THE DURATION OF MY OWNERSHIP OF THIS VEHICLE SO FAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO THE SERVICE CENTER SEVERAL TIMES TO HAVE IT REPAIRED, ONLY TO HAVE THEM STATE THAT THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AND THEIR COMPUTERS CANNOT SOURCE A CODE. WHEN THE COMBINATION SWITCH IS USED TO ACTUATE THE WINDSHIELD WASHER, THE FLUID CONTINUES TO SPRAY AFTER IT IS RELEASED. ONLY PULLING THE SWITCH DOWN, AND BACK UP, WILL CAUSE IT TO STOP. THIS HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS PARKED, OR IN MOTION. OCCASIONALLY THE WASHERS WILL SPRAY UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, ONLY STOPPING WITH MANIPULATION OF THE COMBINATION SWITCH.

NOW I UNDERSTAND THAT THE DEALERSHIP KNEW IT WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE BECAUSE NISSAN IS AWARE OF A MAJOR DEFECT WITH THEIR CVT TRANSMISSIONS, BUT WILL NOT ORDER A RECALL TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. MY CHILDREN AND I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED ON THE HIGHWAY THAT EVENING; WE BARELY MADE IT OFF THE ROAD. I AM TERRIFIED TO TRY TO DRIVE THE CAR. I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT GOING 55+ MPH ON THE FREEWAY AND GOT HIT BY A BIG RIG AND NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS AND FAILS TO ACCELERATE IN TRAFFIC. IT STOPPED PULLING ON A BRIDGE ON THE INTERSTATE THIS MORNING ON A STEP INCLINE. THE RPM S BOUNCE BACK AND FORTH. THE TRANSMISSION HAS NOW COMPLETELY FAILED. THE CAR HAS A LITTLE OVER 78,000 MILES ON IT AND HAD DISPLAYING PROBLEMS SINCE 62,000 MILES, RIGHT AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED.
2016 NISSAN SENTRA SR (CURRENT MILEAGE EST. 60,000 MILES) THE IGNITION ISSUE ON MY VEHICLE HAS STARTED AROUND 20,000 MILES. NORMALLY, THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY DURING MY COMMUTE TO AND FROM WORK (WHICH IS 60 MILES A DAY), THE SLIP TRACTION LIGHT STAYS ON FOR DAYS REGARDLESS OF WEATHER CONDITIONS. DURING THIS TIME THE ACCELERATION OF MY VEHICLE IS STALLING. A JERKING MOTION AS I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR. A REPAIR WAS INITIATED BUT NO TO AVAIL, THE ACCELERATION IS STILL STALLING. THERE IS A FAULT IN THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY SYSTEM. WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY, THE BRAKE SWITCH ACTS UP AND THE CAR CAN'T TURN ON. THE BRAKE GETS STIFF AND I'M UNABLE TO TURN ON THE VEHICLE FOR 10 -30 MINUTES. PUSHING THE IGNITION BUTTON ALONE, THE CAR WILL LIGHT UP AND THE RADIO WILL TURN ON THEREFORE THERE IS NO ISSUE WITH THE BATTERY. THE BRAKE SWITCH HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE IN TWO CONSECUTIVE MONTHS. CURRENTLY THIS ISSUE IS OCCURRING WITH A NEW BRAKE SWITCH IN MY VEHICLE. ALSO, IF MY CAR IS PARKED AFTER AN HOUR OR SO , I HAVE DIFFICULTY TURNING ON THE CAR, BRAKE PEDAL GETS HARD AND I WAIT ONCE AGAIN UNTIL THE PEDAL UNLOCKS. I TOLD THEM THAT WAS NOT THE CASE BECAUSE I OWNED SEVERAL NISSAN SENTRAS. THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I INCREASED MY STOPPING DISTANCE BECAUSE I DIDN'T TRUST THE CAR. I GOT INTO A MINOR FENDER BENDER. THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME ONLY HAD A SMALL SCRATCH. I WAS GOING AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED. UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS I HAD PLENTY OF ROOM TO STOP. HOWEVER, MY CAR DIDN'T BEHAVE NORMALLY. I HIT THE BREAK AS HARD AS I COULD, BUT IT WAS SLUGGISH AND STILL MOVING. THE FRONT-END EMERGENCY BREAKING SYSTEM STARTED BEEPING. I COULDN'T SWERVE THE CAR BECAUSE THERE WHERE CARS ON MY SIDES. I CONTINUED HITTING THE BREAK AS HARD AS I COULD, AND MY SYSTEM BEEPED AND FLASHED AGAIN. THE SYSTEM COULDN'T FULLY STOP THE CAR EITHER. BEFORE MOVING MY CAR I CALLED THE NISSAN NUMBER THE MANUAL SAYS TO CALL. I TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND ASKED THEM TO GET THE EVENT DATA RECORDER INFORMATION. THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT TO A DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY ONLY DOWNLOADED CODES AND WHAT I WAS DESCRIBING WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND AFTER LOOKING INTO IT THEY DECIDED THEY WOULD REPLACE A VALVE IN THE TRANSMISSION UNDER WARRANTY. THEY SAID THAT A PART ALSO NEEDED REPLACING BECAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT. THEY SAID THE PART WAS ON BACKORDER. I ASKED FOR DOCUMENTATION OF WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO TO MY CAR AND THEY REFUSED AND SAID I WOULD GET IT AT THE END. NOW THE PART IS FURTHER BACKORDERED. THEY WON'T PAY FOR A RENTAL AND ARE NOW SAYING THAT IF I WANT OUT OF MY LEASE THEY NEED TO DO AN 8 WEEK INVESTIGATION. I WANTED THE INVESTIGATION OVER 2 MONTHS AGO!

I ASSUMED IT MAY BE A BAD BATTERY, SO I GOT A JUMP, BUT AFTER 20 MINUTES, THE CAR REFUSED TO TURNOVER. THE LIGHTS STILL WORKED, THERE WASN'T ANY DIMMING. THE MECHANIC SPENT MOST OF THE FOLLOWING DAY TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG, STILL BEING DIAGNOSED. I'VE SEEN THE SAME PROBLEM NOTED FOR NISSAN SENTRA AND OTHER MODELS, IT'S A SCARY THING FOR A VEHICLE TO COMPLETELY STOP ON A ROAD OR HIGHWAY, IF THE PARKING LOT WASN'T NEARBY, MY FAMILY AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN SITTING DUCKS TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR STRAINED ON A HIGHWAY. WHEN THE CAR WAS PARKED AND TURNED OFF, ONCE I STARTED IT BACK UP THE CAR WOULD SHIFT INTO DRIVE, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE DIAGNOSIS WAS DEALING WITH SOMETHING ELECTRICAL AND THE TRANSMISSION. LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND LESS THAN 100,000 MILES. I OWNED OLDER MODEL FOR 5 YEARS, OVER 200,000 MILES BEFORE I HAD ANY PROBLEMS FROM THE ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION.

The front passenger seat belt bracket may become deformed if it is used to secure a Child Restraint System (CRS). The deformed seat bracket may cause the Occupant Classification System (OCS) to incorrectly classify the installed CRS, resulting in the front passenger air bag to not be turned off as designed when a CRS is in the seat.
