The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while parked or stopped at a traffic light, after releasing the brake pedal the vehicle failed to move. The contact had to wait approximately twenty to thirty minutes and restart the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.
Transmission fails at low speeds (school zones) reengages once stopped. Possible rear end collision due to defect. It’s been happening since the vehicle was new and it’s been repaired numerous times by the dealer to no avail
My 2018 Chevy Traverse started to have a "shift to park" issue at 49,000 miles. I can not turn the car off because the vehicle states that it is not in park. I have to sometimes literally sit in the vehicle for 10-15 minutes waiting for the car to agree that its in park. Very dangerous. Dealer says it is not covered under warranty at I have to pay for it out of pocket.
On January 9, 2022 I was unable to release the parking brake. When I turned the car on, an alert popped up saying “service parking brake”. When I tried to release the parking brake, it would not release. It still made the sound as if it was trying to release but the parking brake was still engaged. I turned the car off and went back into my house for 10 minutes and then came out to try it again. Again, when I turned on the car, it said “service parking brake”. I tried to disengage the parking brake and it wouldn’t release. I pulled the button up as if I was setting the parking brake and pushed it down to release 3 times, with no change. On the 4th try, the parking brake disengaged. I received an email from OnStar Notifications informing me of the issue and directing me to take it to a service center. (Pic of email attached) This component has not been inspected by anyone. I would be willing to make the vehicle available for inspection upon request. This issue compromises safety because I have to set my parking brake, as I park on an incline and my truck rolls back a little each time I put it in park, or release the parking brake. It would be dangerous to leave my truck parked without the parking brake, but I can’t have my truck stuck with the parking brake on when I need to leave.
Even though the car was shifted to "park" there was an "action needed" message saying shift the car to park. The lights and radio stayed on as well as the Warning bells indicating something needed attention. Even after repeatedly restarting the car and aggressively shaking the shift mechanism, I couldn't get the car to turn off. I wasn't able to lock the car doors. I went inside the grocery store and shopped. The car was still "on" when I returned. I was afraid I would run the battery down as everything was still on. I drove home (9-10 miles) and parked in the garage. After switching off the ignition (yellow light still on), I still got the action needed message and the radio, lights were still on. I went inside and returned 20 minutes later and the car was off. This is the fourth time I've had this problem.
Electrical ground problem affecting transmission control is evident by a Shift to Park warning that displays on the driver information center and prevents vehicle from being turned off. GM has this problem so we’ll documented that a TSB exists and is on file with NHTSA. The inability to turn off the vehicle when this is encountered is a significant safety issue. We paid out of pocket to have the fix recommended in the TSB applied to our vehicle.
Shift to Park message displays on the Driver Information Center (DIC) when the vehicle has been shifted to Park and the ignition has been turned to the Off position. This causes alarm chimes to go off when door is opened and the battery to drain.
When driving on a right hand curve with traffic in the opposite direction lane, the forward collision warning system flashed a large red warning flash on the instrument panel near the speedometer. This was alarming and caused me to put on the brakes immediately, although there was no impending crash. This cause the cars behind me to take evasive action and apply their brakes in an emergency fashion and almost cause several collisions. Vehicle does not turn off...gives a "Shift To Park" notification even though the vehicle is in park. Play with the shifter and sometimes it will turn off. Restart engine and turn off again sometimes helps but usually has to be done multiple times. If left as is the issue will drain the battery. Cannot leave vehicle in this condition. Late for appointments. Reported issue to dealership on day the 36 mo. warranty was up and they said not in and diagnosed. This is a known issue from multiple Traverse owners yet the car was not in the shop and diagnosed. Issue began 2/27/21 and was reported to dealer 3/1/21 first available open time of dealership service department. The want $207.xx to fix the problem...if the fix helps.
When the vehicle is in park the “shift to park” error comes up on the dash board and the car can not be turned off. This appears to be a common issue and a recall needs to happen.
Car getting stuck in Shift to Park
The " Shift to Park" notification activates even though the car is placed in park. The car will not turn off and continually beeps. The dealership is aware of this common problem and will fix it at my own cost within next 24 to 48 hrs. There is a previous Service Bulletin #Bulletin No.: 18-NA-297, Date: December, 2018 that states this problem but I did not receive this notification as the only owner of this vehicle. Multiple complaints on-line re this problem. I am concerned that the vehicle may not be in park and could roll over someone or something
The car does not recognize when the vehicle is in park. It will ding an error at you so you are unable to leave your vehicle. This error will continue to go off until you can find a trick to shut the car down. I work downtown and need to park in a garage. I was left sitting with an alarm going off for several days while I searched for tricks on my phone to get the error to turn off. I am a single female and I was put at risk because my car would not turn off. I had to sit in the garage alone until I could find a way to be able to leave my car.
DUE TO THE EMS RECALL IT HAS CAUSED THE ABS TO MALFUNCTION WENT TO TWO DEALERSHIPS MORE THAN FOUR TIMES WAS TOLD TO PAY IN ORDER TO HAVE MY CAR FIXED DUE TO EMS RECALL SERVICE PROVIDER: DUE TO THE EMS RECALL IT HAS CAUSED THE ABS TO MALFUNCTION PER EMS RECALL THIS CAN BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE. I AM BEING DENIED BY BOTH KILLEEN AND TEMPLE CHEVY DEALERSHIPS.
Led tail lamp burned internally. There are no fuses in for any of these lamps in the owners manual. Dealership blamed the non functional light on water damage without having even investigated what was wrong. Chevy's own TSB states moisture normal(01-08-42-001L). I personally removed the lamp after the dealer asked over $900 to replace it, stating moisture damaged it. The dealer never inspected it. It's electronics are burnt!

When my vehicle has been shifted into park (the transmission shifter shifted into P for Park) and the engine has been turned off a "shift into Park" warning message is displayed on the dashboard and a warning chime sounds. My vehicle's ignition remains ON and the audio system does not shut off. The transmission shifter shows the P (Park selection) P as red indicating the transmission is in park and the transmission shifter is locked in the park position. I must restart my vehicle and re-shift the transmission selector back into park multiple times before my vehicle turns the vehicle's ignition to OFF.
When I put the car in Park sometimes I receive a message saying Shift to Park. It doesn’t happen every time but sometimes if I flick the shifter it will clear the message. I had to pick up my grandchild who was sick at school and it took me 10 minutes to get it to clear. It’s so annoying!

The vehicle was taken back to the dealer twice where the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they replaced the brakes however, the failure continued. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.
When shifting the vehicle to park, the vehicle system says to Shift to Park and the message does not turn off even if you turn off the engine.
My vehicle will not always go in to park allowing the vehicle to move and not to be locked if it doesn’t roll when “parked”. GM knows this is an issue and refuses to do anything to correct the issue.
Electric Park Brake Malfuctions frequently. Park brake will not set or release properly which is dangerous and could allow vehicle to roll out of park on a hill. This problem is well documented online from other owners of 2018 Chevy Traverse but Chevy had not formally addressed this problem.
2018 Chevy Traverse with 39,145 miles. When placed in Drive, shifter did not connect and car would not move forward, instead went backwards. Also, when placed in Reverse, the opposite happened and car would not move in reverse, but went forward. Repeatedly get message stating SHIFT TO PARK when shifter is in PARK. Per GM, no recall. Issues have not been detrimental at this point, but definitely has to potential to be detrimental and a safety matter. Vehicle scheduled to go into Chevy dealership for assessment and repair, but told will have to pay $95 just to look at it and will not be covered by warranty. Upon research, MANY complaints noted with same issue. Despite being told that my vehicle has no recall, x2 service bulletins noted by NHTSA: bulletin #19-NA-206 September 2019 and 18-NA-297 December, 2018.
On June 29, 2021 Unable to turn off vehicle/engine. Started approximately 1 week before on 2 occasions where I finally was able to shut off vehicle. I called dealership/service to get an appointment, but had to go in immediately because it would no longer turn off. Repair was not covered under warranty which was only 4 months past the 3 year warranty and mileage was only 27,637. It cost me just under $450 to repair this. Service advisor at Classic Chevy in Grapevine, TX commented that they had been seeing this problem which they diagnosed as INTERNAL SHIFTER FAULT. (A C/S SHIFT TO PARK MESSAGE COMES ON CLUSTER is noted on the repair invoice.) This was unnerving at the very least, and safety risk. Is this problem under any recall or potential recall?
The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving 2 mph and making a turn, the vehicle suddenly lost power and stalled. The contact stated that the vehicle then restarted on its own with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who determined that no issues were found however, the computer system was reset. The contact stated the failure reoccurred while making a left turn at a stoplight. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was 21,685. Consumer stated vehicle has been in the shop for 6 months and still in the shop.
The vehicle randomly engages the electronic parking brake while driving. The only way to unlock the brake is to unplug the battery. Very dangerous when I'm high speed traffic. Please help.
Unk. Parking break will not engage and engine will not turn off. 30 mins riding around block and pulling in drive back and forth last night before it engaged. Four days now this has happened at store, Dr appt. This is unacceptable defect.
After it rains water leaks from the headliner between the rear view mirror and headliner control panel (lighting, sunroof, collision controls etc..) It is available for inspection, the introduction of water in this area could affect the components in this area, camera, air bags, collision alert. Have not taken into a dealer to evaluate or inspected.
When I put the vehicle in park I get a message that says (SHIFT TO PARK) even though the vehicle is in park. Then when I try to turn my vehicle off I can't. It takes several times messing with the gear shift to finally get it not to say (SHIFT TO PARK) then I can finally turn my vehicle off. I've contacted the dealership and they say they know of this issue, but there is no recall. I feel like this is a problem that needs to be addressed and GM needs to correct immediately.
WHEN SHIFTING INTO PARK AND ATTEMPTING TO TURN OFF THE CAR, 80% OF THE TIME THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT REGISTER THAT THE CAR WAS IN PARK AND ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO TURN OFF. IT WOULD ALARM & CHARM WITH A MESSAGE TO "SHIFT TO PARK". THIS IS A KNOWN MANUFACTURING ISSUES WITH THE CHEVROLET TRAVERSE, GMC ACADIAS, AND POSSIBLY OTHER MODELS OF CHEVY/GMC. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AS THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW IF THE VEHICLE IS TRULY IN PARK AND CAN LEAVE YOU IN SCARY SITUATIONS WHEN YOU CANNOT TURN OFF THE CAR. WE HAVE ALSO BEEN STRANDED WITH A DEAD BATTERY BECAUSE THE "SHIFT TO PARK" CHIME AND MESSAGE DRAINED THE BATTERY. CHEVROLET HAS PROVIDED THEIR DEALERSHIPS WITH BULLETINS IN HOW TO ADD A JUMPER HARNESS AND ADD/REPLACE A SWITCH IN THE GEAR SHIFT ASSEMBLY TO CORRECT THE ISSUE, BUT REFUSE TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY. I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE SERVICE ADVISORS ADMIT THEY HAVE HAD TO FIX NUMEROUS GEAR SHIFTERS AND THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED ON THIS PROBLEM AS IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ANYONE AFFECTED. PLEASE ADDRESS! I AM INCLUDING MY RECEIPT ON THE SERVICE I HAD TO PAY FOR TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. ALSO AN EXAMPLE OF ONE OF THE TECHNICAL BULLETINS CHEVROLET HAS SENT THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
TODAY DRIVING AROUND 35 TO 40 MPH. CAR STARTED TO LOSE SPEED, ENGINE LIGHT ,PARK BRAKE LIGHT AND DASH READ ENGINE IN REDUCED SPEED. STILL NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. 3RD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND HAS BEEN TO DEALERSHIP, SERVICE DEPT AFTER EACH OCCURANCE. NOT SAFE.

NEXT A MESSAGE OF ENGINE REDUCE POWER WAS ON DISPLAY. CALLED DEALERSHIP STATED NOT TO DRIVE AND HAD IT TOWED IN. NOW NO ENGINE LIGHT IS PRESENT. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAS HAPPENED. NOT SAFE AT ALL.
DASHBOARD PAD STUFFING CAME APART FROM WINDSHIELD. REPAIRED AND NOW THIS IS THIRD TIME IT'S REPLACED. I WAS NOT AWARE THAT EXTENDED WARRENTY DOESN'T PAY FOR IT. THE FIRST REPAIR WAS WARRENTY . REPAIR DEFECTIVE 3RD TIME. EVERYTIME IT COMES OUT THEY HAVE TO CHARGE TO REMOVE DASH BOARD AND REPLACE. SAFETY HAZARD WINDSHIELD LOOSEN, CAN CRACK, LEAK, ANNOYING RATTLE. DEALER STATED RECALL ON SOFTWARE AND GMC ISSUED IT. JUST SAID NO RECALL ISSUED AWARE OF. THIS IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVER. WINDSHIELD LOOSEN, CAN CRACK, SHATTER EASIER ON IMPACT, ANNOYING RATTLE, AND COST FOR EACH REPAIRED NEW DASHBOARD REQUIRED. 395.00 AND TAX AND LABOR. TOTAL 500.00.

THE REAR AIR VAPORATOR EXPLODED, RESULTING IN LOSS OF AIR/HOT AIR BLOWING OUT ON A RELATIVELY NEW CAR.
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE, MY CAR WOULD NOT ACKNOWLEDGE BEING PUT IN PARK. I WOULD SHIFT THE CONTROL TO PARK BUT WOULD GET WARNINGS PARK WAS NOT ENGAGED. I TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIR. NOW I AM GETTING A MESSAGE TO SERVICE PARKING BRAKE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. I DO NOT USE THE PARKING BRAKE, SO I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY SERVICE IS NEEDED. BOTH PROBLEMS WERE WHEN CAR WAS IN PARK. THE 'SERVICE PARKING BRAKE' WARNING STAYS ON WHILE DRIVING.
WHEN SHIFTING FROM DRIVE TO PARK, AFTER PRESSING THE START/STOP BUTTON TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT TURN OFF AND ALERT WITH DINGS AND DISPLAY A MESSAGE TO SHIFT TO PARK. IT TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET THE VEHICLE TO TURN OFF. THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN.
WHILE DRIVING 50 MILES AN HOUR IN AWD, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THE D STARTED FLASHING AND THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO DISENGAGE. THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL INSIDE THE CAB. I PULLED OVER AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE THE REMAINING 5 MILES HOME.
WE PARKED AND EXITED THE VEHICLE (TURNING IT OFF) ON A SLIGHT GRADE AS WE NORMALLY DO IN THE FRONT OF OUR HOUSE ON A PUBLIC STREET. WE AWOKE THE NEXT MORNING TO DISCOVER THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ADVANCED OR SLID FORWARD APPROXIMATELY 15' COMING TO REST AGAINST A TELEPHONE POLE ADJACENT TO OUR CORNER PROPERTY. IF THE TELEPHONE POLE WAS NOT IN THE PATH OF THE VEHICLE IT WOULD HAVE CROSSED A SIDE STREET AND COME TO REST IN OUR NEIGHBORS FRONT YARD. UPON VIEWING THE VEHICLE AFTER THE DRIFT FORWARD, BEFORE ENTERING THE VEHICLE WE COULD SEE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CLEARLY IN PARK AND TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS HAD (1) PREVIOUS SERVICE BY A DEALER FOR TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR.

THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,887. *LN*JB
I HAVE HAD TWO MAJOR ISSUES. FIRST IS THE WHOLE "SHIFT TO PARK" MESSAGE THAT YOU HAVE TO VIGOROUSLY WIGGLE THE TRANSMISSION LEVER TO GET TO GO AWAY SO YOU MAY EXIT THE VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD IT IN THE DEALER FOR IT ONCE ALREADY AND THEY SAID THEY REPLACED THE WIREING HARNESS. THIS DID NOTHING. I AM THE SECOND OWNER AND I HAD THAT DONE AT ABOUT 35,000 MILES BUT IT NEVER COMPLETELY WENT AWAY. NOW I AM AT 50,000 MILES AND FOR THE LAST FEW WEEKS I HAVE BEEN NOTICING TERRIBLE HIGH PITCH NOISE THAT SOUNDS LIKE BAD ROAD NOISE BUT ITS COMING FROM THE DRIVE TRAIN. SO FAR IT HAS SEEMED TO HAPPEN MOSTLY AROUND THE 72 TO 78 MPH RANGE ON THE HWY. AS SOON AS YOU LET OFF THE GAS THE NOISE GOES AWAY BUT 50% OF THE TIME THE NOISE COMES BACK WHEN YOU REAPPLY THE GAS. SOMETIMES IT TAKES DRASTICALLY CHANGING SPEED AND THEN TRYING TO GET BACK TO NORMAL. MY FAMILY AND I TRAVEL A LOT. THAT'S WHY WE GOT THE TRAVERSE AND OTHERWISE HAVE LOVED IT! BUT I AM SO VERY SCARRED THAT MY FAMILY WILL GET STRANDED IN BUSY AND DANGEROUS TRAFFIC.
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE FEELS LIKE GEARS ARE GRINDING AND THE CAR IS BREAKING HARDER THAN I AM APPLYING PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND I CAN FEEL THE VEHICLE SHUTTERING AND GRINDING TO A STOP THROUGH THE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE DOES STOP, BUT A WARNING THEN DISPLAYS ON THE DASH "BRAKE ASSIST ACTIVATED". THIS WARNING DISPLAYS EVERYTIME THE BRAKES ARE USED. ONLY HAVE DISABLING THE FORWARD COLLISION BREAK ASSIST DOES THE VEHICLE THEN DRIVE NORMAL. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED TWICE NOW ONCE IN TOWN DRIVING 30-40 MILES AN HOUR AND ANOTHER STOPPING COMING UP TO A LIGHT AT INTERSECTION.
SHIFTER GAVE ERROR THAT IT WAS NOT IN PARK. HAD TO HAVE SHIFTER REPLACED AT MY OWN COST BECAUSE IT WAS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY. ALSO THE SEAT BELT ON THE DRIVER'S SEAT IS FAULTY.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SHIFT CONTROL ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE MAY CAUSE A CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
A 'SHIFT TO PARK' MESSAGE APPEARS AFTER SHIFT TO PARK. VEHICLE DOES NOT COMPLETELY TURN OFF. DEALER SAID IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL. 44161 MILES ON CAR.
ON 9/16, I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHICH LEAD TO MY CAR BEING TOTALED FROM APPX $30,000 IN DAMAGE. TRAFFIC CAME TO A STOP ON THE INTERSTATE AND I ENDED UP REAR ENDING A CAR WHICH CAUSED THE FOLLOWING DAMAGE: ENGINE WAS RIPPED FROM MOTOR MOUNTS AND SHOVED INTO FIREWALL, CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK, WHOLE FRONT END OF CAR WAS DAMAGED INCLUDING SIDE FENDERS AND DRIVERS DOOR UNABLE TO OPEN SMOOTHLY, CRUSHED A/C COMPRESSOR, AND MANY OTHER ITEMS UNDER THE HOOD. (I HAVE MORE PICTURES FROM THE COLLISION CENTER UPON REQUEST). WITH THE SEVERITY OF THE DAMAGE, THERE IS NO DOUBT THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. HOWEVER, NOT A SINGLE AIRBAG WENT OFF IN THIS VEHICLE. I CAN PROVIDE ESTIMATES FROM THE COLLISION CENTER WITH ALL ITEMS DAMAGED ALONG WITH PICTURES. I WOULD HAVE ATTACHED BUT SIZE LIMITS PREVENT ME. I'M LUCKY I WAS NOT INJURED BUT SOMEONE ELSE MIGHT NOT BE AS FORTUNATE AS MYSELF.
SHIFT TO PARK COMES ON WHEN PUT IN PARK. WON'T TURN OFF OR DINGS WHEN GET OUT BUT EVERYTHING IS STILL POWERED AND BEEPS AT YOU WHEN YOU TRY TO GET OUT. I TOOK IN AND SUPPOSEDLY DEALERSHIP FIXED WITH A NEW HARNESS BUT IT STILL DOES IT 2HOURS OUT OF THE SHOP. NOT SAFE COULD ROLL BACKWARDS AND KILL SOMEONE.
WE PURCHASED THIS SUV LESS THAN TWO YEARS AGO AND AT ABOUT 50K MILES THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SHUTTERING WHILE DRIVING. FINALLY WE WERE OUT AND IT WAS RUNNING FINE THEN ALL OF SUDDEN THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR,CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE WERE STUCK. TOOK DIRECTLY TO DEALER AFTER THREE WEEKS OF NO RESPONSE FROM THE LOCAL DEALER NOR CHEVROLET THEY FINALLY SAID THAT THEY THOUGHT THE VALVE BODY AND TORQUE CONVERTER WERE BAD. WE WISH WE NEVER WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE. CHEVROLET DIDN'T SEEM TO MIND THAT THEIR 2 YEAR OLD VEHICLE HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. I HAVE NEVER OWNED ANYTHING OTHER THAN GM VEHICLES AND I PROMISED THEM THIS WOULD BE MY LAST AND THEY DIDN'T CARE. SHE TOLD ME WELL WE ARE ALL ENTITLED TO MAKE THOSE DECISIONS.
REPORTED BRAKES SQUEAKING IN DECEMBER OF 2019. NOW BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKES SQUEAKING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES NOW. THEY STATE IT'S NOISE, NOT A BRAKE WEAR ISSUE. OUR NEIGHBORS ALSO HAVE A 2018 ARCADIA WHICH DOES THE SAME SQUEAKING AS OURS BOTH WHEN YOU FIRST START THE VEHICLE OR APPLY ANY TRACTION SUCH AS GOING DOWN THE DRIVEWAY, SLOW BREAKING OR DRIVING AND BRAKES ON A LOW MPH SPEED.

BOUGHT 2018 NEW. TWO DAYS AFTER DRIVING OFF LOT PASSENGER SEAT MELTED ELECTRICAL CONNECTION CAUSING SEAT FAILURE. GM FIXED FOUR DAYS LATER DRIVER SEAT SAME THING. WEEK LATER HEADLIGHT CONNECTION MELTED AND HAD TO BE FIXED SPENT A WEEK IN SHOP. STARTED CLAIM AT GM TO TAKE CAR BACK AFTER A MONTH OF RUN AROUND AND STALLING THEY OFFERED ME $250 IN ACCESSORIES AND DROPPED THE PROBLEM AS IT IS ALL FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. THE DIAGNOSTIC BLOCK UNDER THE DASH MELTED SO THEY COULDN'T USE IT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. MOST RECENT THE LEFT BRAKE LIGHT FAILED AND IT WAS BECAUSE THE CONNECTION MELTED AND THE LIGHT HAD TO BE REPLACED. A WEEK AFTER THAT I WAS DRIVING ON I75 AND HEARD AN EXPLOSION AND THE RIGHT BRAKE LIGHT WAS BLOWN OUT OF THE CAR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND HE CONNECTION WAS MELTED AND THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SINCE 29 SEPT 20 AND TODAY IS 7 OCT20 THE CAR HAS ONLY 21700 MILES ON IT. I HAVE AGAIN CALLED GM AND STARTED AGAIN THAT THIS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM IS DANGEROUS AS THOSE LIGHTS ARE LED LOW VOLTAGE SO WHAT IS CAUSING THIS SURGE OF HIGH VOLTAGE AND NO ANSWER. ALL REPAIR RECORDS ARE AT THE DEALER AND THIS IS NOT NORMAL TO HAVE 6 ELECTRICAL ISSUES IN TWO YEARS BUT GM HAS DECIDED TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY. IT'S BEEN A WEEK SINCE CALLING GM AND I HAVE NOT GOTTEN THIS RESOLVED AS YET.
WE EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH BEING ABLE TO SHIFT INTO PARK WHEN STATIONARY IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS (IE GROCERY STORE, DRIVEWAY, GARAGE, PARKING LOT AT SCHOOL/WORK SEVERAL LOCATIONS). WE HAD TO REPEATEDLY SHIFT INTO A GEAR EITHER REVERSE OR DRIVE SEVERAL TIMES ON EACH OCCURRENCE, AS YOU COULD NOT TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE AS FRUSTRATION WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND SELECTING A GEAR REPEATEDLY. ONE CAN SOMETIMES STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR RESULTING IN A LEARCH FORWARD OR BACKWARD DEPENDING UPON THE GEAR SELECTED. NOT BEING ABLE TO SWITCH THE VEHICLE OFF CREATES ADDITIONAL ISSUES WHEN THE VEHICLE IS GARAGED WITH EXHAUST EMISSIONS. WE DID NOT ALLOW GRAND CHILDREN OUT OF THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE SHIFT TO PARK ISSUE DISAPPEARED. NOT KNOWING WHAT THE VEHICLE'S SELECTOR WAS POSITONED IN. NEXT WAS THE SERVICE REPAIR AS IT RESULTED IN A SHIFTER REPLACEMENT AND WAS CLAIMED NOT TO BE COVERED UNDER THE DRIVETRAIN WARRANTY AND REPAIRS RESULTED IN A $536.54 BILL. IT SEEMS FUNNY THE SERVICE TECH WRITERS KNEW WHAT WAS BEING DESCRIBED EVEN BEFORE COMPLETING THE DESCRIPTION OF THE ISSUE. THEIR COMMENT WAS SHIFT TO PARK WARNING. THE SERVICE TECH MENTIONED THERE WERE A COUPLE REPAIR SERVICE BULLETINS THAT MENTIONED A EASY FIX AND THE OTHER A SHIFTER REPLACEMENT. OURS BEING THE LATER OF THE TWO. THE SERVICE TECHS ALSO MENTIONED THIS IS PREVALENT IN SOME OTHER MODELS. THIS ISSUE IT WOULD SEEM IS AN UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT WAITING TO OCCUR! THIS OCCURED SEVERAL TIMES PRIOR TO REPAIR ON 08/12/2020 I HAVE THE REPAIR WORK ORDER AVAILABLE. IT SHOWS MY NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, AND EMAIL ADDRESS ON IT SO I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO UPLOAD A COPY.
THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE: TODAY WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON US 98 IN GULF BREEZE, FL I MADE A LEFT HAND U-TURN IN A 45 MPH ZONE AND THE VEHICLE SUFFERED SEVERE FUEL STARVATION. I STARTED THE U-TURN OUT OF A COMPLETE STOP. EVEN WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FLOORED IT TOOK THE VEHICLE OVER THREE SECONDS TO RECOVER. THIS HAPPENED WITH OVER 3/4 OF A TANK OF FUEL. LUCKILY, I GAVE MYSELF PLENTY OF SPACE WITH APPROACHING TRAFFIC AND I HAD A LEFT HAND TURN LANE TO USE OR ELSE I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS ISSUE HAS ONLY OCCURRED WHEN COMMITTING U-TURNS. THE VEHICLE GAVE NO INDICATIONS TO ANY PROBLEMS. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS ISSUE UP WITH THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AND EITHER THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE IT OR GM IS NOT GOING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM UNTIL THERE IS A LETHAL ACCIDENT.

MY CAR IS OVER WARRANTY BY MILEAGE BUT MY CAR ONLY BEING 2 YEARS OLD I FIND THIS VERY UNSATISFACTORY AND UNSAFE!
TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS WHEN ACCELERATING. HAVE BEEN TO DEALER AND THEY HAVE RESET COMPUTER AND AFTER ABOUT 800 IT STARTS BACK. TOOK BACK TO DEALER THEY CHANGED FLUID AND RESET COMPUTER. AFTER 800 MILES IT DID IT AGAIN, TOOK BACK TO DEALER AND THEY RESET COMPUTER AND WE DROVE IT FOR AN HOUR WITH NO SHUDDER. AFTER 800 AGAIN IT DID IT AGAIN. SERVICE MANAGER ACKNOWLEDGES THEY HAVE TROUBLE BUT CHEV HAS NO FIX YET. ITS IN THE TRUCK TOO HE SAID. IT HAS 51,000 MILES NOW AND STILL SHUDDERING... IT STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT THEY CANT FIXT IT BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO.
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING, A NOTIFICATION SAYING "SHIFT TO PARK" IS DISPLAYED ON THE DASH EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE IS CONFIRMED TO BE STATIONARY IN PARK. THIS ISSUE CAUSES THE CAR TO REMAIN RUNNING, WHICH IF UNBEKNOWNST TO THE DRIVER, CLOSES THEIR VEHICLE IN A GARAGE WHILE THINKING THEY SHUT THEIR CAR OFF, COULD CAUSE CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING INSIDE THEIR HOME.

UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE FAILURE COULD BE CAUSED BY THE GEAR SHIFT HARNESS OR THE GEAR SHIFT ASSEMBLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,700.

OCT 2019 HAD GEAR SHIFT HARNESS REPLACED BECAUSE SHIFT TO PARK WAS SHOWING UP AND VEHICLE WOULDN'T TURN OFF OR LOCK. THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN IN DEC 2019 AND I HAD TO HAVE THE SHIFTER REPLACED. JUNE 10 2020, VEHICLE STOPPED CROSSING A MAIN ROAD AND IT WOULDN'T MOVE FORWARDS OR BACKWARDS. HAD TO LET VEHICLE ROLL BACKWARDS TO A SEMI SAFE SPOT OUT OF TRAFFIC. POLICE HAD TO BE CALLED BECAUSE THERE IS A LOT OF TRAFFIC IN THIS AREA AND I COULDN'T GET THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO REPLACED. THEY SAID THERE AREN'T ANY PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX IT DUE TO GM BEING CLOSED DUE TO COVID. I ONLY HAVE 21,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND HAVE HAD IT FOR 2 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS. I DON'T HAVE PAPERWORK FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND A POLICE REPORT WASN'T FILED BECAUSE THEY ONLY PROVIDED THEIR VEHICLE FOR SAFETY CONCERNS. *TR

ALSO, BLUETOOTH CONTINUES TO DISCONNECT. BRAKES SQUEAK CONSTANTLY, FROM THE TIME IT WAS DRIVEN OFF THE LOT. CAR STUTTERS WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE. CAR HAS BEEN TO DEALER MANY TIMES, SUPPOSEDLY 'FIXED'. I WAS TOLD TO TRY HIGHER OCTANE GAS. THIS SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY. ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ARE INCREASING. WE HAVE PURCHASED SEVERAL CHEVROLETS, THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST VEHICLE AS FAR AS PROBLEMS WHICH, AFTER 2-1/2 YEARS, HAVE NOT BEEN REPAIRED. WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL??? SO I WENT ON LINE TO FIND OUT I WASN'T ALONE REGARDING THESE PROBLEMS EVEN WITH LATER MODELS. THEN I CALLED CUSTOMER CARE TWICE TO MAKE SURE THE INFO I WAS GIVING WAS THE SAME, I HAD EXPLAINED MY PROBLEMS WITH THEM, SHE SAID THERE ARE NO RECALLS UNDER MY VIN# AT THIS TIME, I WENT OVER MY WARRANTY WITH BOTH CUSTOMER REPS, BOTH WERE ACCURATE THAT MY VEHICLE IS STILL COVERED. I ALSO RECEIVED INFO THERE IS A BULLETIN OUT #18-NA-121. ISSUE WAS DISCOVERED TO BE A FAILED MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING ALL BRAKE FLUID INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER, SUCKING IN AIR CAUSING BRAKE FAILURE. HAD THE CAR NOT BEEN MOVING VERY SLOW WHEN THIS OCCURRED, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. VEHICLE ONLY HS 39K MILES. I AM BEING MADE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET. WORKING WITH GM TO UNDERSTAND IF THEY ARE WILLING TO PAY FOR A BRAKE FAILURE ON A ALMOST NEW VEHICLE. *TR
POWER STEERING FAILED ON VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION. ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MODULE FAILED CAUSING EXTREME DIFFICULTY GETTING THE VEHICLE PARKED. STEERING RACK HAD TO BE REPLACED AND COMPUTER RE-PROGRAMMED. VEHICLE IS BACK AT THE DEALER WITH A SIMILAR TROUBLE CODE FOR A FOLLOW UP TO THE ORIGINAL REPAIR. IT TOOK GM OVER 4 MONTHS TO GET THE REPLACEMENT PART MAKING US DRIVE OUR VEHICLE WITH A FAULTY STEERING RACK NEVER ONCE PROVIDING A LOANER VEHICLE OR BUYBACK OPPORTUNITY. *TR
WHEN DRIVING, THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON SAYING " REDUCED BRAKING POWER---GET SERVICE IMMEDIATELY. SAFETY CONCERN. I TOOK CAR INTO THE DEALER. THEY DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER SEAL HAD FAILED AND THAT BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. DEALER SAYS IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. I CAN'T BELIEVE BECAUSE OF THE LOW MILAGE AND SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN THAT THIS REPAIR WOULD NOT BE COVERED.
THIS IS NOT TO REPORT AN INCIDENT BUT MORE OF A CONCERN WITH THE ROOF STRUCTURE OF MY 2018 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE PREMIUM. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHILE WASHING THE ROOF OF MY SUV I NOTICED THE SHEET METAL FLEXING ACROSS THE CENTER MIDLINE OF THE ROOF FROM THE LIFTGATE ALL THE WAY TO THE WINDSHIELD. LUCKILY, I DO NOT HAVE A SUNROOF ON MY VEHICLE. THE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE I EXERT WHILE SCRUBBING THE ROOF OF THE CAR IS LESS THAT 20 LBS PER SQUARE INCH. I TRIED CAPTURING THIS ON CAMERA BUT THE IMAGES KEEP COMING UP BLURRY. *TR

PURCHASED A YEAR AGO IN FL. MY WINDSHIELD CAME LOOSE TWICE ALREADY WHERE YOU CAN SEE THE PADDING IN THE DASHBOARD AREA AGAIN. THE TIRE ON DRIVER SIDE HAS TO HAVE AIR IN IT SEVERAL TIMES AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 20 MINS. PRESSURE KEEPS READING AT 26 AND ALARM GOING OFF WITH THE PROBLEM. HUSBAND REFILLS AND THREE DAYS LATER I MOVE THE VEHICLE AND IT HAPPENS AGAIN. WINDSHIELD YOU CAN HEAR AIR LEAKING FROM IT. SEVERAL TIMES WHEN I STARTED MY CAR IT HAD A WEIRD ENGINE NOISE LOUD ACCELERATION EVEN WHEN SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY. I READ NO RECALLS BUT POSSIBLE CLASS ACTION PENDING IF YOU REFUSE TO FIX THE VEHICLES. I WILL BE OVER 36 MONTHS BEFORE MY CAR REACHES 30K MILES. I DRIVE TO AND FROM DOCTORS, GROCERY SHOPPING. PARKING BRAKE WOULDN'T RELEASE. SERVICE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT ON. I HAD PARKED ON A SLIGHT HILL. THE NEXT MORNING BEFORE HAVING IT TOWED, I TRIED ONCE MORE TO PUSH THE PARKING BRAKE BUTTON AND IT SUCCESSFULLY DISENGAGED THE PARKING BRAKE AND THE SERVICE LIGHT CLEARED ITSELF. I NOTICED ON A FORUM THAT 2018 TRAVERSES HAVE THIS ISSUE AND DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY OR LETTING IT SIT FOR A FEW HOURS SOMETIMES RESOLVES THIS RECURRING ISSUE BUT NEVER FIXES IT.

WE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN TO LUCAS CHEVROLET SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON DECEMBER 31ST TO FIX THIS AND WERE MADE AWARE THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, NOT YET AT THE RECALL LEVEL. IT HAS NOW BEEN A MONTH SINCE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ORDERED THE PART NEEDED TO MAKE THE REPAIR, ASSUMING THEY EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT IS. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE CONSIDERING WE WERE TOLD THE PART WOULD BE DELIVERED IN JUST A FEW DAYS.

THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE FAILURE HOWEVER, TO PREVENT THE FAILURE THE SEAT BELT SHOULD BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATE 21,958.

THIS HAS AFFECTED THE ABILITY TO LOCK THE VEHICLE, AFFECTS THE BATTERY LEVEL, AND ALSO HAS BEEN REPORTED TO CAUSE INSTANCES WHERE THE VEHICLE OPERATES AS IF IT IS IN NEUTRAL INSTEAD OF PARK...ALLOWING IT TO ROLL ALTHOUGH SHIFTER IS IN PARK. UPON CALLING CHEVY, THIS IS ONLY COVERED UNDER THEIR BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY WHICH IS UP IN 36,000 MILES OR 3 YEARS. THIS ISSUE MOST COMMONLY OCCURS BEFORE THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY EXPIRES, YET IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. THE SHIFTER MUST BE REPLACED DUE TO THIS SENSOR FAILURE AND IS AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. ACCORDING TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE NOT BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ACTION TAKEN TO ADDRESS THIS INCLUDING AND NOT LIMITED TO A RECALL OF THE PART WHICH IS CLEARLY FAULTY, OR THAT IT BE COVERED IN THEIR POWERTRAIN WARRANTY BEING THAT THE POWERTRAIN DOES NOT OPERATE WITHOUT THE SHIFTER-IT'S IMPOSSIBLE.

NONE OF THE GEARS WERE FUNCTIONING, INCLUDING, PARKING, DRIVE, AND REVERSE. WE WERE LEFT UP HILL AND IT WAS SCARY BECAUSE EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS PLACED ON PARKING, IT WAS GOING DOWNHILL. WITHOUT PLACING THE BREAK ON THE CAR, THE CAR WOULD JUST KEEPING ROLLING DOWN. WE WERE LUCKY THAT THE TRAFFIC WAS SLOW SO WE WERE ABLE TO GUIDE THE PARK DOWN HILL WHERE THE LAND WAS COMPLETELY FLAT. MY 2018 CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THE CAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT WAS A BROKEN AXLE!! I DRIVE MY 3 Y.O. TO SCHOOL ALMOST EVERY DAY AND I DRIVE ON THE FWY TO GO TO SCHOOL ABOUT 4 TIMES A WEEK. THIS MALFUNCTION COULD HAVE CAUSED OUR AND OTHERS LIVES. THE CAR DISPLAYS "ACTION REQUIRED SHIFT TO PARK" EVEN THOUGH IT IS ALREADY IN PARK WITH THE RED P LIT UP. YOU CANNOT TURN OFF THE VEHICLE UNTIL YOU REPEATEDLY START THE VEHICLE, PLACE IT IN DRIVE THEN BACK TO PARK. EVENTUALLY IT WILL WORK CORRECTLY. VEHICLE WILL NOT LOCK WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS NOW HAPPENS EVERY TIME I TRY TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. I AM JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AND DEALERSHIP SAYS I NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN AS THE RECOMMENDED FIX FROM MANUFACTURER DID NOT WORK. ALL OF WHICH ARE OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES DESPITE THIS BEING A WELL KNOWN ISSUE. ALSO, VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY HAVE A LONG DELAY BEFORE THE VEHICLE SHIFTS IN GEAR. YOU SHIFT TO D AND HIT THE GAS AND THE ENGINE REVS LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL AND EVENTUALLY IT WILL FINALLY START TO GO. THIS DELAY WITH ENGINE REVVING ALSO HAPPENS RANDOMLY WHEN AT A STOP AND ACCELERATING THROUGH INTERSECTIONS AND I HAVE HAD A FEW NEAR MISSES OF ALMOST BEING HIT BECAUSE OF THIS! THIS SECOND ISSUE ONLY SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN GOING FROM A STOP.

THERE IS ALSO AN ALARM SOUNDING WHEN I SHUT THE VEHICLE MOTOR OFF AND THE DASH SCREEN READS "SHIFT TO PARK". I FOUND THAT I NEED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND SHIFT OUT AND BACK IN TO "PARK" IN ORDER FOR THIS ALARM TO SHUT OFF. IT APPEARS THERE IS A BAD CONNECTION BETWEEN THE COMPUTER AND THE TRANSMISSION OR VISA VERSA. GM HAS ALREADY ISSUED SEVERAL TSBS RELATED TO THIS VEHICLE AS YOU MIGHT BE AWARE.

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE OFF WHILE THE ERROR IS PRESENT THE ISSUE OCCURS ON ALL SURFACES (FLAT AND SLOPED SURFACES ). THE ISSUE IS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY AND AFTER RESEARCH APPEARS TO BE A WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM ON THIS VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WILL ENGAGE SPEED ON ITS OWN. SOMETIMES IN THE MORNING START WILL NOT ENGAGE. STOP ENGINE GOES TO AUTO-STOP. ON DASH START ENGINE. MAJOR PROBLEMS. ALREADY HAD ECM REPROGRAMMED SEVERAL TIMES.

THE SHOP FOREMAN AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THIS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE. THE GEAR SHIFTER (ALSO ELECTRIC) HAD FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED BY CHEVROLET.

ATTEMPTED TO PUT SEAT BELT ON. WON'T LATCH THEREFORE DOESN'T STAY ON. CAR WAS STATIONARY AT TIME FIRST ATTEMPTED TO USE THE SEAT BELT, WAS IN MOTION WHEN MADE SEVERAL OTHER ATTEMPTS. INTERIOR LOCKING MECHANISM MUST BE BROKEN/DEFECTIVE.
MY 2018 CHEVY TRAVERSE HAVE AN ISSUE GOING IN PARK EVERY TIME I PUT IT IN PARK THE DASH INDICATES SHIFT TO PARK AND I CAN'T TURN THE VEHICLE IGNITION OFF I CONTACT THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE SHIFTER THAT THEY'LL REPLACE IT THIS PROBLEM IS REALLY ANNOYING AND I HAVE TO SIT THERE AND PLAY WITH THE SHIFTER UNTIL IT GOES OFF. THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE AND A RECALL NEEDS TO BE DONE.
RECEIVED MY VEHICLE DROVE IT TO A PARKING LOT. WHEN I CAME OUT TO START IT, IT WOULD NOT START. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, DUE TO KEY FOB'S NOT WORKING PROPERLY WITH VEHICLE. THE KEY FOBS WERE BEING REPROGRAMMED WITH THE VEHICLE, WE WAITED 3 HOURS TO FIND THEY COULD NOT BE REPROGRAMMED AND HAD TO ORDER NEW ONES. WE WERE SENT HOME WITH A LOANER AND WAITED ANOTHER WEEK TO RECEIVE OUR VEHICLE. SOMETIMES WHEN IN VEHICLE IT WILL BEEP FOR NO REASON LIKE IT DOES WHEN THE DOORS CLOSE AND KEYS ARE LEFT IN IT.
AFTER 3 MONTHS OF HAVING MY NEW VEHICLE, MY AC WOULD BLOW HOT AIR. I CONTACTED THE DEALER BROUGHT IT IN AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE AC. WAITED ABOUT ANOTHER MONTH AND IT STILL WAS BLOWING HOT AIR. I BROUGHT IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALER AND WAS TOLD ABOUT ISSUES WITH THE AC AND SURE ENOUGH IT HAD TO BE REPAIRED.
VEHICLE WAS STOPPED ON A STEEP CITY STREET BEHIND ANOTHER VEHICLE TURNING LEFT. VEHICLE WENT TO MOVE FORWARD AND TURN LEFT AND IT SHUT OFF AND ROLLED BACKWARDS DOWN THE STEEP HILL. WHEEL COULD NOT BE TURNED, BRAKES COULD NOT BE PRESSED, WHEN GAS WAS PRESSED IT DID NOT GO FORWARD, IT ROLLED BACKWARDS IT WAS LIKE IT SHUT OFF AFTER BEING IN AUTO STOP MODE. PARKING BRAKE ASSIST CAME ON AUTOMATICALLY AND VEHICLE ROLLED INTO A CEMENT POLE. VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. PARKING BRAKE WOULD NOT RELEASE. HAD TO SHUT OFF VEHICLE, RESTART AND TRIED TO RELEASE PARKING BRAKE 5 MORE TIMES BEFORE IT RELEASED. THIS VEHICLE OFTEN ROLLS BACKWARDS AFTER BEING IN AUTO STOP MODE AND THE GAS NEEDS TO BE PUSHED HARD IN ORDER FOR IT TO GO FORWARD. THIS VEHICLE FEELS LIKE IT SLOWS DOWN WHEN PRESSING THE GAS AT TIMES AND YOU NEED TO PUSH THE GAS PEDAL HARDER. THE BRAKES SQUEAK OFTEN WHEN WET AND COLD AND SOMETIMES WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE THE BRAKE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO PUSH IT DOWN, YOU HAVE TO PUSH IT SEVERAL TIMES, LET UP AND PUSH IT AGAIN BEFORE THE VEHICLE WILL START.
WHEN TURNING OFF CAR AND HAVE GEAR ON PARK LIGHT APPEARS WITH "SHIFT TO PARK" AND LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF.
2018 CHEVY TRAVERSE WHEN DECELERATING AROUND SPEEDS UNDER 35MPH CITY DRIVING THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY REV UP AND THE RPM WILL GO UP TO 4000 OR 5000 RPM, THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHILE BRAKING. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL JERK FORWARD AS IF IT WAS GOING TO ACCELERATE AND OTHER TIMES IT JUST STAYS AT A HIGH RPM FOR 5 SECONDS OR LESS UNTIL I EITHER COME TO A COMPLETE STOP OR TRY TO ACCELERATE AND IT DOES NOT RESPOND. THE ENGINE SOUNDS LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL AND THE ACCELERATOR IS BEING HELD DOWN. IT ALSO DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL WHEN IT IS REVING LIKE THIS, AND IF I TRY TO ACCELERATE THE CAR WILL EVENTUALLY KICK INTO GEAR AND LUNGE FORWARD. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WITHING THE FIRST FEW MONTHS OF OWNING IT AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND SAID THE COMPUTER DID NOT RETURN ANY ISSUE. THIS PROBLEM COMES AND GOES SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW IN 2018 AND CONCERNS ME, BECAUSE IT FEELS AS IF THE CAR IS ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN AND MAY CAUSE ME TO CRASH.
SEVERAL INSTANCES HAVE OCCURRED WHEN I HAVE PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF I RECEIVED A MESSAGE "SHIFT TO PARK", EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE IS ALREADY IN PARK. WHEN THIS OCCURS, IT WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. IT WILL TAKE SEVERAL MINUTES OF SHIFTING THE VEHICLE FROM DRIVE TO PARK BEFORE IT WILL REGISTER THE PARK POSITION.
OCTOBER 11, 2019 - WHEN GOING TO TURN VEHICLE OFF I GET AN ALERT TO PUT VEHICLE IN PARK ON CONSOLE EVEN THOUGH VEHICLE IS ALREADY IN PARK. HAS BEE DOING THIS FOR 1 WEEK. JIGGLING SHIFTER SOMETIMES WORKS. SOMETIMES NECESSARY TO RESTART VEHICLE AND MOVE FORWARD AND BACK. APPEARS THERE ARE MULTIPLE OTHER REPORTS OF THIS BUT NO RECALL AS OF YET.
WHEN I SHUT OFF MY CAR IT SAYS TO SHIFT INTO PARK REGARDLESS OF THE FACT THAT IT IS AND WON'T SHUT OFF FOR A WHILE I THINK THE SHIFTER HAS A DEFECTIVE PROBLEM
WHEN I ATTEMPT TO TURN MY VEHICLE OFF, I GET A MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN THAT SAYS TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I VERIFIED THAT THE CAR IS IN PARK AND THE SCREEN READS THAT IT IS. THE MESSAGE CONTINUES, AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO SHUT ANYTHING OFF OR LOCK THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE JUST CONTINUES TO CHIME. THE ONLY RECOURSE IS TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. BUT THEN, I CANNOT LOCK THE VEHICLE. I HAVE INCLUDED A PICTURE OF THE SCREEN TO SHOW WHAT I AM SEEING. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL ISSUES ONLINE REGARDING GM VEHICLES WITH THIS ISSUE. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP, WHO HAS LEFT ME STRANDED WITHOUT A CAR, THAT THEY HAVE SEEN THIS BUT THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH ISSUES OUT THERE TO WARRANT A RECALL. IT WOULD SEEM TO ME THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD REQUIRE IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.
THE VEHICLE AUTO-STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. WHEN IT RESTARTED AND I MADE A RIGHT TURN OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, IT WOULD ONLY LURCH. IT LURCHED AS IF SOMEONE WAS PUNCHING THE GAS PEDAL QUITE AGGRESSIVELY. THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE LIGHT EVENTUALLY ILLUMINATED. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED. AT THIS TIME THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS ISSUE (FROM FEBRUARY 2018) BUT NO KNOWN REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FORWARD ALERT SYSTEM BECAME INOPERABLE AND FAILED TO BEEP WHEN A VEHICLE WAS IN VIEW. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MORAN CHEVROLET CLINTON TWP (35500 GRATIOT AVE, CLINTON TWP, MI 48035, (866) 774-3206) WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS WORKING AS DESIGNED AND THE FEATURE WOULD BE ACTIVATED BY SPEED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.*PM*JB
THE CAR DOES NOT REGISTER WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK AFTER I TURN IT OFF. IT READS 'SHIFT TO PARK' AND I HAVE TO SPEND SEVERAL MINUTES JIGGLING THE SHIFTER OR RESTARTING THE CAR AND GOING THROUGH DIFFERENT GEARS. IT IS A VERY BIG INCONVENIENCE. I TOOK IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP AS IT STARTED RIGHT AFTER THE WARRANTY RAN OUT. THEY SAID EITHER THE SHIFTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED OR THE GEARBOX VIA A CONVERSATION THEY HAD WITH SOMEONE THEY HAD AT CHEVY. THEY WERE TOLD CHEVY AND GMC ARE AWARE OF IT BEING A PROBLEM BUT IT'S NOT ON A RECALL LEVEL YET.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

THIS HAS DONE THIS FOR WEEKS, NOT JUST ON DATE LISTED BELOW. STILL UNDER WARRANTEE AND THEY CHARGED US TO FIX IT ON 09/16/2019. HEADING TO DEALER SHIP 09/17/2019 TO FIGHT FOR MONEY BACK.
MULTIPLE INSTANCES HAVE OCCURRED WHERE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM AND OTHER AREAS OF DASH RANDOMLY SHUTDOWN WHILE DRIVING. MUSIC CAN NOT BE PLAYED, TURN SIGNAL SOUNDS ARE NO LONGER HEARD, AND VOICE OPERATIONS DO NOT WORK. TURNING CAR ON AND OFF DOES NOT SOLVE PROBLEM, HOWEVER AFTER SITTING OVER NIGHT SEEMS TO WORK NORMAL. MOST RECENT TWO INSTANCES HAPPENED SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2019 AND SEPTEMBER 8TH, 2019 SO JUST A WEEK APART.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VARIOUS DEFECTS WITH VEHICLE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE AUTOSTOP BECAME INOPERABLE, A POPPING SOUND WAS HEARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, PARKING WOULD NOT RELEASE, AND THE LOW ENGINE OIL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE RADIO WOULD NOT WORK PROPERLY, THE REAR BRAKE CALIPERS LOCKED UP, THE GEAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO PARK, THE WINDOWS INADVERTENTLY ROLL DOWN WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF AND THE DASHBOARD WAS BROKEN. *JS
TAKATA RECALL MY 2018 CHEVROLET 3LT AWD TRAVERSE THAT WAS PURCHASED IN MARCH 2018 AND WITH ONLY 15K MILES DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THAT IT IS IN PARK WHEN PLACED IN PARK. WHEN THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF, AN ALERT POPS UP TELLING US TO SHIFT TO PARK AND WILL NOT FULLY SHUT DOWN. WE THEN HAVE TO WIGGLE AND MOVE THE SHIFT GEAR INTO DIFFERENT GEARS TO ATTEMPT TO GET IT TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT IT IS IN PARK. MOST TIMES IT TAKES 10 MINUTES OR MORE TO SHUT IT DOWN. THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME THE TRAVERSE IS DRIVEN. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED WITH MY KIDS BECAUSE OF IT NOT SHUTTING DOWN. WE WERE TOLD THAT WE NEED A NEW SHIFT GEAR ASSEMBLY.
I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY 2018 TRAVERSE SINCE DECEMBER. THE PROBLEM STARTED AROUND 9,000 MILES. I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. I WOULD PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND THE "D" LIGHT WOULD BLINK BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. IN MARCH AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY FINALLY REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THEY REMOVED THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACED A SENSOR. THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES UNTIL JULY 23RD WHEN DRIVING ON A CITY ROAD THE CAR GOT STUCK IN FIRST GEAR. I WAS PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO OVER 20 MPH. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN AND THEY REPLACED THE TCM AND SOLENOID SENSOR. I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE ON 8/8 ONLY TO RETURN ON 8/15 WHEN THE CAR STALLED AND JERKED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. ON 8/16 I SPOKE WITH THE DEALERSHIP WHO INFORMED ME CHEVROLET ADVISED THEM TO CLEAR THE CODE AND RETURN THE VEHICLE TO ME. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO THEM AND THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT IS WORKING ON FIGURING OUT THE PROBLEM. AS OF 8/18/2019 THIS VEHICLE HAS SPENT 47 DAYS IN THE SHOP FOR REPAIRS AND HAS 10 REPAIR ORDERS.
BEGAN 6/19, WITH PROGRESSIVE WORSENING. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PLACED INTO PARK AND SHUT-OFF, A WARNING APPEARS ON THE INFO DISPLAY STATING" SHIFT TO PARK". AT WHICH POINT THE VEHICLE KEEPS ALL LIGHTS ON THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE ILLUMINATED, THE AC STAYS ON, THE RADIO/ENTERTAINMENT DISPLAY STAYS ON, IN ADDITION TO A WARNING BEEP/CHIME THAT IS TYPICAL WHEN THE VEHICLE IS LEFT "ON" AND YOU OPEN THE DOOR. IN OTHER WORDS, OUR VEHICLE STILL THINKS IT IS "ON" AND "IN" GEAR. IN THE BEGINNING IT WOULD TAKE 2-5 TIMES OF TURNING THE VEHICLE BACK ON AND OFF IN ORDER FOR THE WARNING TO GO AWAY AND THE VEHICLE TO SHUT-OFF PROPERLY. NOW, IT WILL NO LONGER SHUT-OFF REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY TIMES THE ENGINE IS RESTARTED AND THE STICK-SHIFT IS MOVED OUT OF PARK & BACK. HAVE RESORTED TO UNPLUGGING THE BATTERY EVERY TIME WE EXIT THE VEHICLE TO KEEP IT FROM BEING DRAINED. THE VEHICLE HAS ALSO NOT RE-STARTED AT ALL(TAKING 15 MINUTES OF RE-ENGAGING THE STARTER BUTTON AT ITS WORST). LEAVING MY WIFE & TODDLERS STUCK IN 100PLUS DEGREE HEAT. WHEN IT DOES NOT RE-START, THE DASH DISPLAY READS THE VEHICLE AT "0 MPH" AND ALLOWS THE GEARS TO BE SHIFTED. THERE ARE NUMEROUS OTHER PEOPLE ONLINE STATING SIMILAR ISSUES. SOME HAVE RESOLVED WITH A CHANGE OF THE SHIFTER MECHANISM, & OTHERS STILL WITH CONTINUED ISSUES AFTER THAT. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THERE IS ONLY 1 PART LEFT IN TOWN, AND THAT IT IS ON BACK-ORDER AND THEY CAN'T GET IT FROM THE MANUFACTURER(THEY TRIED THEIR TWO NATIONWIDE WAREHOUSE LOCATIONS). NOT ONLY THAT, THE DEALERSHIP SAID WE NEEDED TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE WITH THEM AND THEY WOULD NOT EVEN "LOOK AT IT" FOR UP TO 1.5 WEEKS, AND THAT THEY WERE OUT OF LOANER VEHICLES. THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, AND WAS PURCHASED CERTIFIED-USED. NOTHING HAS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE OR WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT/STOP-SIGN, BUT WE CERTAINLY DON'T WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT "COULD" HAPPEN.
VEHICLE STARTS INTERMITTENTLY AND ONCE STARTED IT WILL RUN FOR A WHILE, THEN ENGINE WILL TURN OFF, ALL POWER STEERING, BRAKES ETC WILL NOT WORK. TRIED JUMPING THE VEHICLE AND WOULD NOT POWER CYCLE.
WHEN I STOP DRIVING AND PUT IN PARK WARNING COMES UP ON DISPLAY "SHIFT TO PARK" IT TAKES A LITTLE BIT TO GET IT TO TURN OFF , BUT IF YOU DONT SEE IT YOU COULD HAVE DEAD BATTERY WHEN GET BACK IN CAR.. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL , GETTING TIRED OF ALWAYS RESHIFTING IT EVERY TIME I TURN CAR OFF,
AS I WAS TURNING ONTO ROUTE 32 MY CAR LOST POWER, WAS SHAKING, AND VIBRATING; THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THE ISSUE IS BEING INVESTIGATED UNDER GENERAL MOTORS AND TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A HAZARD TO MY LIFE AS IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN AT ANY TIME.
AFTER I SHIFT CAR IN TO PARK I GET A WARNING ALARM TO "SHIFT TO PARK". I CONTACTED DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THAT IT WAS OKAY TO DRIVE AND SAFE HOWEVER IT TAKES ME ANYWHERE FROM 2-5 MINTUES TO GET IT TO SHUT OFF OR SOMETIMES I HAVE HAD TO LEAVE IT ON.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR, STRAIGHT, DOWN OUR ROAD AT ABOUT 40 MPH WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED TO SHUDDER, LOOSE POWER AND THEN THEN ENGINE STALLED (LOST STEERING ABILITY AND ENGINE PROPULSION). IF THIS HAD HAPPENED AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, WHILE MAKING A LEFT HANDE TURN, IT COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL.
FROM A COMPLETE STOP WHEN STARTING OFF THE FRONT END PULLS TO THE RIGHT TOOK IT TO DEALER THEY SAID ITS NORMAL... GEAR SHIFTER WONT STAY IN PARK..HAVE TO START AND STOP SEVERAL TIME.. WHEN PULLING OFF CAR FILLS LIKE ITS SHAKING AND SHUDDERING..
ISSUE 1 WHEN YOU STOP DRIVING THE TRAVERSE, PLACE IT IN PARK AND HIT THE BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE, IT WILL SHUT OFF THE ENGINE BUT NOT THE ELECTRONICS. THE CAR DISPLAYS 'ACTION REQUIRED SHIFT TO PARK' EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFTER IS IN PARK WITH THE RED P LIT UP. YOU CANNOT TURN OFF THE VEHICLE UNTIL YOU REPEATEDLY START THE VEHICLE, PLACE IT IN DRIVE THEN BACK TO PARK. EVENTUALLY IT WILL WORK CORRECTLY. IT ALSO SEEMS TO CLEAR IF I SHIFT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO L THEN BACK TO PARK. ISSUE 2 RANDOMLY (BUT OFTEN) WHEN YOU START THE VEHICLE AND SHIFT IT INTO DRIVE THERE IS A LONG DELAY BEFORE THE VEHICLE SHIFTS IN GEAR. YOU SHIFT TO D AND HIT THE GAS AND THE ENGINE REVS LIKE IT'S IN NEUTRAL. LOOKING AT THE DISPLAY THE D KEEPS FLASHING THEN EVENTUALLY IT WILL STOP FLASHING AND THE VEHICLE WILL GO IN GEAR. THIS IS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY.
MY VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION IS LAGGING. IT SOMETIMES WON'T GO WHEN IN DRIVE AND GIVEN GAS. THE ENGINE WILL REV UP BUT WON'T MOVE. IT SHIFTS HARD AS WELL. THE SHIFT TO PARK INDICATOR COMES ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK AND NOT MOVING. THE RADIO SCREEN SOMETIMES WON'T TURN OFF OR ON, LIKE IT'S FROZE. WHEN I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND ALL POWER IS OFF, I CAN WALK IN THE HOUSE AND ABOUT 4 MINUTES LATER MY RADIO COMES ON BY ITSELF. EVEN IF THE RADIO IS POWERED OFF. THE VOLUME WILL ONLY GO UP TO 32-36, AS FAR AS SOUND, WHILE THE RADIO SCREEN SHOWS 63. IT'S NOT LOUD AT ALL! THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE CODES AND ADVISED THE TECHNICIAN TO CLEAR THE CODES AND RETURN THE VEHICLE TO THE CONTACT. THE TECHNICIAN ACTED ACCORDINGLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER AND THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INSISTED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. SEARCH FOR BULLETINS REVEALED DOCUMENT 5251270 WITH NO REPAIR YET FOR ANOMALY, WHICH DESCRIBES "SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMMENT THAT THE SES [SERVICE ENGINE SOON] LAMP IS ILLUMINATED. THIS LAMP MAY HAVE COME ON BY ITSELF OR IN SOME CASES, THE CUSTOMER MAY EXPERIENCE DRIVABILITY ISSUES SUCH AS A STALL, LURCH, STUMBLE, HESITATION OR POWER LOSS AFTER AN AUTO STOP/RESTART." CAR HAD ABOUT 10000 MILES AND IN TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS HAS STALLED, STEERING WHEEL HAD STOP WORKING, COULDN'T STEER, CAR TURNS OFF WHEN STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, ALRMS GO OFF AND DEALER JUST SAYS THEY CAN ONLY REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER, NO REPAIRS AVAILABLE. ON A THIRD TIME BRAKING SYSTEM ALARMS WENT OFF AND DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKING SYSTEM. VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS FAILED WHILE IN MOTION. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE IF SOMEONE GETS HURT BECAUSE THIS CAR DOES NOT FUNCTION AS IT SHOULD.
I HAD STOPPED FOR A RED LIGHT ON A CITY STREET. THE AUTO STOP WAS ON (STOPS THE ENGINE IDLING) AND WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO GO AFTER THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I WOULD PRESS THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR WOULD LURCH FORWARD, THEN DO NOTHING, LURCH FORWARD, THEN NOTHING AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I GOT IT INTO THE NEAREST PARKING LOT AND TURNED IT OFF. I RESTARTED THE CAR, THE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON AND THEN I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT THE CAR, SAID IT WAS A "KNOWN ISSUE" IN CARS OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL YEAR, BUT THEY DIDN'T HAVE A FIX FOR IT YET. THEY TOLD ME THEY CLEARED THE ERROR CODES AND TO KEEP DRIVING IT AND LET THEM KNOW WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I SAID I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT IT DOING AGAIN AND ME POSSIBLY BEING HIT BY SOMEONE WHO EXPECTED MY CAR TO MOVE AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID MY OTHER CHOICE WAS NOT TO DRIVE IT UNTIL THE SOFTWARE FIX WAS AVAILABLE; HOWEVER, THEY COULD PROVIDE NO TIMEFRAME ON WHEN OR IF A FIX WOULD BE AVAILABLE.
IN EARLY APRIL 2019, APPROXIMATELY THE FIRST WEEK OF APRIL, I WAS DRIVING THE TRAVERSE ON A HILL AND STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I ATTEMPTED TO STEP ON THE GAS AND PULL FORWARD, BUT THE CAR ROLLED BACKWARDS. I LOOKED DOWN TO SEE IF I WAS IN REVERSE, BUT THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE. THIS SPECIFIC INCIDENT OCCURRED A TOTAL OF TWO TIMES. ON APRIL 23, 2019 AROUND 9:40 AM I WAS DRIVING AND MY CAR STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES DURING THIS TRIP. I WAS NOT SURE IF THE CAR WAS GOING TO MAKE IT TO MY FINAL DESTINATION. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. ON APRIL 24, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THE CAR SHOWED 4 'CODES'. P0011 'A' CAMSHAFT POSITION ' TIMING OVER-ADVANCED OR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE BANK 1 P0014 'B' CAMSHAFT POSITION ' TIMING OVER-ADVANCED OR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE BANK 1 P0021 'A' CAMSHAFT POSITION ' TIMING OVER-ADVANCED OR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE BANK 2 P0024 'B' CAMSHAFT POSITION ' TIMING OVER-ADVANCED OR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE BANK 2 THESE CODES REPRESENTED A SOFTWARE PROBLEM RELATED TO THE ENGINE. TIM INFORMED ME THAT ACCORDING TO THE GM BULLETIN (PIP5568E OR DOCUMENT ID# 5251270), THE RECOMMENDATION IS TO DELETE THE CODES AND THAT THERE IS NOT A SOFTWARE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM AT THIS TIME. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT BECAUSE OF THE SEVERITY OF THE SYMPTOMS I WAS EXPERIENCING RELATED TO THE CODES HE DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THE RECOMMENDATION FROM THE GM BULLETIN AND HE WOULD BE ESCALATING THE ISSUE TO THE GM DISTRICT MANAGER. THE ULTIMATE RESULT IS THAT THEY WANT TO DELETE THE CODES AND HAVE ME COME PICK UP THE CAR AS THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THE ISSUE AT THIS TIME.
ON A NORMAL SUNNY AFTERNOON AFTER ABOUT DRIVING FOR 20 OR SO MILES, WE WERE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT IN A LINE OF TRAFFIC AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO START SLIGHTLY JERKING AS I WAS COMING TO A STOP. ONCE STOPPED THE STOP/START FUNCTION OPERATED. UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE TO ACCELERATE THRU THE INTERSECTION THE VEHICLE STARTED JERKING AND LURCHING UNCONTROLLABLY THEN SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT DARK. I COULD NOT GET THE CAR OUT OF THE LINE OF HEAVY TRAFFIC, I HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND TRY THE START BUTTON. THANKFULLY THE VEHICLE STARTED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON BUT THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO BE RUNNING NORMAL AGAIN AND WE WERE ABLE TO PROCEED. THIS WAS VERY UPSETTING AND DANGEROUS AS IT OCCURRED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT AN INTERSECTION. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY (I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED 2 WEEKS PRIOR, THIS WAS ONLY MY 2ND TIME DRIVING IT AND I HAD ONLY PUT 70 MILES ON IT IN THE 2 WEEKS I HAD IT). THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS APPROX. 25,600. THE HARD CODE THE DEALER RETRIEVED NOTED A CAMSHAFT SENSOR ISSUE. THE SENSOR WAS NOTREPLACED, I WAS TOLD THAT GM IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND WOULD BE ISSUING A RECALL BUT THEY ARE NOT SURE WHEN. THEY SAID IT WAS A COMPUTER PROGRAM ISSUE. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFETY WHILE OPERATING THIS VEHICLE AS THEY SAID THE ISSUE MAY OR MAY NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. ONSTAR SENT ME AN EMAIL NOTIFYING ME THAT MY 2018 CHEV TRAVERSE HAD AND ENGINE/TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER ASAP . THANK YOU ONSTAR, I AM VERY AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND IT WAS ALREADY AT THE DEALER BUT I APPRECIATE THAT YOU ALSO RECOGNIZE THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. HOPING GM DOES SOMETHING VERY SOON, THIS IS A $50,000 VEHICLE WITH ONLY 25K MILES ON IT AND IT IS NOT SAFE TO OPERATE UNDER THESE CONDITIONS.
FUEL PUMP SHUTS OFF WHEN FILLING AS IF TANK WAS FULL. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES DURING A FILL UP, SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT OCCUR. DEALER STATED THERE WAS GAS IN THE VENT LINE AND CHARCOAL CANISTER, AND THAT THE TANK HAD TO HAVE BEEN OVERFILLED. DEALER ASK STATED THEY BLEW OUT THE LINES AND CANISTER AS A COURTESY, AND IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, WE WILL BE EXPECTED TO PAY TO REPLACE THE VENT LINE AND CANISTER. WE HAVE NEVER OVER FILLED THE FUEL TANK. AFTER THE PUMP CLICKS OFF WE STOP. IF THERE IS FUEL IN THE VENT LINE AND CANISTER, THERE MUST BE A MISSING/DEFECTIVE PART IN OUR FUEL SYSTEM, EITHER ALLOWING FUEL IN, OR DELAYING FUEL CUTOFF UNTIL IT IS OVERFILLED. I FILLED UP ON 4/28/19, THE FIRST TIME AFTER THE SERVICE, AND THE PUMP STOPPED ERRONEOUSLY 6 TIMES BEFORE FILLING UP THE FINAL 4.5 GALLONS WITHOUT STOPPING UNTIL FULL.

ON ARRIVAL AT DEALERSHIP I INQUIRED IF THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND WAS INFORMED THEY HAD TWO OF THE SAME YEAR MODEL AND MAKE CARS THAT HAD REPAIRS COMPLETED DUE TO A STRIKINGLY SIMILAR ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING ON FLAT LEVEL SURFACE THE VEHICLE WOULD SPORADICALLY SHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR. I PULLED OVER SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND IT CORRECTED ITSELF. THE NEXT DAY AFTER PUTTING IT INTO DRIVE IT WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF 1ST. I TRIED PUTTING IT IN L AND MANUALLY SHIFTING AND IT STILL WOULDN'T LEAVE 1ST. THIS IS A DIRECT SAFETY ISSUE AS IT DOES THIS WHILE DRIVING. IT JERKS THE VEHICLE AND IF AN INEXPERIENCED DRIVER EXPERIENCES THIS IT WILL BE FATAL.

ON FREEWAY AT 75MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON, EVERY TIME IT GOES UPHILL THERE IS A CONSTANT SURGING FEEL LIKE IT WANTS TO SHIFT FROM 8TH TO 9TH GEAR BUT IT DOESN'T SHIFT DOWN AND KEEPS SURGING. I SUSPECT A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM OR SOMETHING RELATED TO THE COMPUTERS AND HOW THEY DETERMINE WHEN TO SHIFT WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON.
WHEN PLACING THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE, ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WOULD ACT AS IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE DRIVE "D" INDICATOR ON THE DASHBOARD WOULD FLASH. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD ENGAGE AND ON MORE THEN 1 OCCASION, THE CAR JERKED FORWARD. SOME OCCASIONS I WOULD HAVE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE BACK INTO PARK AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO ENGAGE PROPERLY. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER AROUND A DOZEN TIMES TRYING TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE WITH NO LUCK. DEALER BELIEVES THEY KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE IS, BUT COULD NOT FIND ANY HARD CODES WITH THE OBD2 TO GET AUTHORIZATION TO MAKE REPAIRS.
ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, ONE WHILE ON A HIGHWAY GOING AROUND 65 MPH. THE OTHER OCCASION WAS WHILE GOING AROUND 45-65 MPH ON A CITY ROAD. THE DISPLAY SCREEN IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER FLASHED ON AND OFF FOR AROUND 10-20 MINUTES. WHILE THE SCREEN WAS FLASHING ON AND OFF, THE BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT CHANGE ANY OF THE MENU SCREENS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT BECAUSE IT WAS A SOFT CODE AND NOT A HARD CODE, THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING.
WHILE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE ENGINE AUTO STOP ENGAGED AS USUAL. HOWEVER, UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE TO PROCEED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED BUT WOULD NOT RUN PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WOULD LURCH/JERK FORWARD THEN LOSE POWER OVER AND OVER AGAIN. IT FELT LIKE WE WOULD GET WHIPLASHED FROM THE MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE IT OFF OF THE ROAD INTO A PARKING LOT IN ORDER TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP FOR ADVICE. THEY ADVISED TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT IN ORDER TO RESET THE SYSTEMS. WHILE THIS RESTORED THE ABILITY TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS REMAINED ON AND THE VEHICLE WILL BE GOING INTO THE DEALERSHIP IN 3 DAYS (THE EARLIEST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT) TO BE EVALUATED.

WHILE PERFORMING THE REPAIR, THE DEALER FRACTURED THE TUBE THAT CONNECTED THE FUEL PUMP TO THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THERE WERE THREE MORE FAILURES WITH THE FUEL PUMP THAT WERE CURRENTLY LINKED TO THE ENGINE. THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR THE TUBE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ABOUT 79 MPH ON I-65 IN TENNESSEE AND ALL THE SUDDEN CAR STOPS WHILE ON THE DRIVE MODE. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS ON MY RIGHT LANE, SO I PULLED OVER TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE. OVER TWO DOZEN AREAS ON THE POWDER COATED SUB FRAME AND SUSPENSION COMPONENTS HAVE RUSTY WELD BEADS WITH FLAKING PAINT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR INSPECTION AND FILED A CLAIM WITH CHEVROLET. CHEVROLET SAID THE RUST IS "OPERATING AS DESIGNED" AND NO REPAIR WOULD BE COMPLETED. THE AREAS ARE INCREASING TO RUST AND I BELIEVE THIS MAY LEAD TO A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE FRAME AND STEERING COMPONENTS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.

THE STREET WAS A CITY STREET, IT WAS A VERY WET ENVIRONMENT, AND I WAS GOING STRAIGHT. TRAFFIC WAS STOP AND GO SO THE CAR SPEED NEVER WAS HIGHER THAN ABOUT 20MPH. ALL EVENTS OCCURRED WHILE SUV WAS IN MOTION. ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. TOOK CAR IN FOR SERVICE. THEY SAID NOTHING IS CURRENTLY A REPORTED ISSUE DURING THE DTC STATUS CHECK BUT THERE WAS A "HISTORY" OF "LIN BUS 14 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH DEVICE", AND A FEW REPORTS REGARDING INTAKE CAMSHAFT AND EXHAUST CAMSHAFT ISSUES. HAVE NOT HEARD THE DEALER'S ASSESSMENT YET.

NEW LEASE UNDER 8,000 MILES AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON A HEAVILY TRAFFICKED ROADWAY, WHEN I HI THE GAS THERE WAS A LOUD GRINDING. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE AGAIN AS I SAT IN THE MIDDLE OF MAIN ROADWAY WITH CAR SPEEDING BY AS MY WIFE, MY CHILDREN AND MY NIECE SAT IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME. AFTER TRYING TO GET THE TRANSMISSION TO ENGAGE IN "AWD" I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR OFF THE ROADWAY AND INTO A MUCH SAFER PARKING AREA. WHEN PUT INTO "PARK" THE CAR CONTINUED TO ROLL UNLESS THE "EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY IN A DEALER IN MARYLAND AWAITING REPAIRS MORE THAN A WEEK LATER, AND I AM BACK AT HOME ON LONG ISLAND.
I WOKE UP THIS MORNING AND MY REMOTE KEY DO NOT WANT TO CONNECT WITH THE VEHICLE. I THOUGHT MY BATTERY DIE BUT THAT WASN'T THE CASE. THE CAR WOULD NOT START, LOCKED OR UNLOCKED. PURCHASED A 2018 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE IN OCTOBER. BEGINNING WITHIN THE FIRST 30 DAYS THE CAR MADE A LOUD ROARING NOISE WHEN @ 2100 RPM AND GOING APPROXIMATELY 74 MPH. JUST THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE. THEN STARTING IN DECEMBER, WHILE TRAVELLING OUT OF TOWN, IT PERSISTED EVERY TIME WE DROVE IT. IT ALSO WOULD LOSE POWER OR SOMETHING STRANGE WHEN PUTTING IT IN GEAR AFTER BACKING OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY. WE WOULD ACCELERATE FOR A SHORT DISTANCE WHEN THE RPM'S WOULD REV-UP TO 6-7,000 RPM BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T GO. IT WAS ALMOST AS IF IT WOULD SLIP ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN 4 DIFFERENT TIMES FOR REPAIR AND THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. THE CAR ALSO TURNS ITSELF OFF. THE PANEL GOES BLACK. WHEN WE START HEARING A LOUD RUMBLING NOISE WHILE SITTING IN NEUTRAL AT A FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU OR RED LIGHT WE TURN THE AIR CONDITIONING OFF TO TRY AND HEAR THE NOISE BETTER AND THE CAR DIES AND THE PANEL GOES BLACK. WE HAVE HAD TO ACTUALLY RE-START THE CAR. WE ARE EXTREMELY CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE AND ARE RETURNING IT DO THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW FOR OUR FINAL TIME. THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN NUMEROUS OPPORTUNITIES TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM AND THINGS ARE ACTUALLY GETTING WORSE. THIS IS SUCH A SHAME BECAUSE WE WERE SO EXCITED ABOUT OUR NEW CAR. WE HAVE EVEN COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN IT LOOSES POWER TO AVOID BEING HIT FROM BEHIND. THE DEALERSHIP WOULDN'T EVEN START REPAIRS UNTIL THEY COULD DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. FINALLY A MECHANIC ROAD WITH US AND WITNESSED THE NOISE BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO "DUPLICATE" THE SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR TYPE PROBLEMS. SINCE IT IS HAPPENING REGULARLY NOW, MAYBE THEN CAN SEE FOR THEMSELVES. IT HAS TRULY BECOME A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM.
MY WIFE HIT A TELEPHONE POLE HEAD ON, VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. VEHICLE HAD 3000 MILES ON IT. MY WIFE HAD A SEAT BELT ON BUT WAS STILL INJURED. . ALSO ON STAR NEVER CAME ON. AN INVESTIGATOR FROM GM WAS HERE TODAY,AND SAID I SHOULD GET A COPY OF HIS REPORT.
109 MILES ON MY TRAVERSE 2018 & ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE. DALE WILLEY AUTOMOTIVE REPLACED THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM CHECK VALVE & HOSE. DROVE IT AND WITHIN 2 DAYS WHILE RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON AGAIN. DROVE IT OVER THE WEEKEND AND RETURNED TO THE DEALER AT 438 MILES AND THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED. HAVE HAD NO ISSUES AFTER THIS WAS DONE REGARDING THE BRAKES.
AT 7,256 MILES, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. DALE WILLEY AUTOMOTIVE REPLACED THE ENGINE COOLANT FAN MOTOR & ASSEMBLY, AS IT WAS INTERMITTENTLY TURNING ON & OFF, CAUSING A CODE TO BE FIRED FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT. THE RADIATOR ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A LEAK. ALSO, A FUSE HAD TO BE REPLACED THAT WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY BY THE FACTORY WITH A PLASTIC COATING COVERING THE METAL CONTACT OF THE FUSE WHICH WAS CAUSING INTERMITTENT POWER .
AFTER ABOUT 1000 MILES THE BRAKES STARTED GRINDING, AND ALERT WOULD POP UP TO SERVICE THEM AND THEY WOULD BE A HEAVY VIBRATION AS THE ANTILOCK BRAKES WOULD BE KICKING IN EVEN AT VERY LOW SPEED'S. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY REPLACED ALL OF THE BRAKE SENSORS, AFTER ANOTHER TWO WEEKS IT STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN THEY REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS BECAUSE THEY SAID IT HAD A SHORT IN IT . BOTH TIMES I WAS TOLD THE PARTS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER WHICH LED ME TO BELIEVE THIS IS A LARGE PROBLEM. IT HAS NOW HAPPENED THE THIRD AND FOURTH TIME BUT I HAVE NOT HAD TIME TO BRING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. I LOST ALMOST 2 WEEKS OF HAVING THE CAR IN THE FIRST TWO MONTHS THAT I'VE OWNED IT. IT NOW HAS 3500 MILES ON IT. THE PROBLEM IS HAPPENING AT 5 MPH AND EVEN ON THE HIGHWAY EVERY TIME THE BRAKES WERE TOUCHED
I WAS DRIVING ON A 45 MPH ROAD, SLOWLY COMING TO A STOP WHEN THE ENGINE STARTED TO SPUTTER, ALMOST LIKE A PUTT-PUTT FEELING. WHEN I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, & THE AUTO STOP FEATURE CLICKED ON, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I RESUMED DRIVING & TRIED TO GET UP TO THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT, IT WAS HARD TO ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 55 MPH, BUT IT FELT LIKE THE ACCLERATOR WAS RESISTING. I THOUGHT MAYBE THE SENSOR CAME ON BY ACCIDENT, SO WHEN I GOT HOME, I POWERED THE VEHICLE OFF, WAITED 30 SECONDS, & POWERED IT BACK ON. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON. I WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY WERE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THAT THE CRANKSHAFT WIRING HARNESS SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MY CAR AT THE TIME OF BEING DROPPED OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP HAD APPROXIMATELY 9000 MILES ON IT, & I PURCHASED IT IN NOVEMBER 2017.
I PURCHASED A 2018 TRAVERSE/REDLINE ON 6 FEB 2018, DROVE IT LESS THAN 100 MILES, AND THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING TWO (2) DAYS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE SERVICE SECTION ADVISED THEY DON'T HAVE THE EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, AND THAT THE EQUIPMENT IS EXPECTED SOMETIME NEXT WEEK. TODAY, 20 FEB 2018, STILL AWAITING EQUIPMENT. I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP MGR THAT I DON'T WANT THAT VEHICLE BACK. THE MGR SAID THAT HIS HANDS ARE TIED AND I WOULD HAVE TO DEAL WITH GM. CONTACTED GM ON 9 FEB, AND COMPLETED AN APPLICATION FOR WHAT I WAS LET TO BELIEVE WAS A 'BUY BACK' OF MY VEHICLE. THE GM REP INFORMED ME THAT SOMEONE WOULD CONTACT ME WITHIN TWO DAYS. NEEDLESS TO SAY, IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. I CALLED GM BACK ON 13 FEB, SPOKE WITH ANOTHER REP WHO HAD NO CLUE AS TO WHY I WAS CALLING. THIS REP ASKED FOR 72 HOURS, AND WOULD GET BACK TO ME. ON 20 FEB, I RCVD A CALL FROM THE GM REP WHO STATED THAT GM CAN ONLY DO A BUY BACK AFTER 3 OR MORE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. BOTTOM LINE IS THAT I BOUGHT A 46,000 DOLLAR PIECE OF JUNK, AND OF COURSE, NO ONE WANTS IT BACK. AND GM IS MORE THAN AWARE THIS PROBLEM EXISTS... THANK GOD I WASN'T MAKING A TURN IN FRONT OF ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED... TRULY AN UNSAFE VEHICLE... BUYER BEWARE !
I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK FOR LESS THAN 4 MONTHS, BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW OFF THE SHOW ROOM FLOOR. I WAS DRIVING TODAY TO PICK UP LUNCH ON A CITY STREET WHEN AN ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED SAYING CAUTION, POWER STEERING AND SUDDENLY IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO CAREFULLY DRIVE AND PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
WAS DRIVING FROM NYC TO TORONTO. WE STOPPED 3 HOURS AFTER FOR BATHROOM BREAK AND LUNCH. I DID NOT LEAVE THE CAR THEREFORE THE CAR REMAINED ON. DROVE FOR ANOTHER 2 HOURS AND STOPPED FOR A BATHROOM BREAK AT JUNIUS PONDS TRAVEL PLAZA AROUND 330PM. TURNED OFF THE CAR AND THATS WHEN WE REALIZED WE DROVE WITHOUT THE KEY. THIS IS IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR. WE CALLED ONSTAR AND CHEVY BUT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST IN ANYWAY. MY PARENTS HAD TO DRIVE TO US TO GIVE US THEY KEY. IT TOOK THEM OVER 6 HOURS BECAUSE IT WAS RUSH HOUR. IMAGINE 6 HOURS BEING STRANDED WITH KIDS. LUCKILY WE WERE AT A REST STOP WITH FOOD, BATHROOM AND MOST IMPORTANTLY HEAT. IT TURNED OUT WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS BUSY PACKING UP THE CAR, HE HAD SWITCHED INTO HIS WINTER JACKET LEAVING HIS SWEATSHIRT BEHIND WHICH THAT KEYS WERE IN. THE CAR WAS IN PARK IN OUR DRIVEWAY. WE DROVE OFF AND THERE WERE NO NOTIFICATIONS. WE EVEN STOPPED AT STARTBUCKS AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK AGAIN. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS THIS WILL MAKE IT EASY FOR THEFT AND RISKS THE SAFETY AND HEALTH OF THE PEOPLE IN THE CAR. CAN YOU IMAGINE IF WE HAD STOPPED AT A PLACE THAT DID NOT HAVE HEAT. ONSTAR ONLY ALLOWS 2 REMOTE ENGINE START THEN IT WILL TELL YOU THAT THE CAR ENGINE HAS TO BE MANUALLY TURNED ON BEFORE USING THE REMOTE START AGAIN. IM NOT TALKING ABOUT IF A CHILD ACCIDENTALLY THROWS THE KEYS OUT THE WINDOW IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR SHOULD TURN OFF. IM SUGGESTING THAT THE CAR SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO MOVE FROM PARKING IF THE KEY IS NOT IN THE VEHICLE. IMAGINE DRIVING 5 HOURS 300+ MILES AWAY FROM THE KEY AND NO WARNING.

KEEP GETTING ERROR MESSAGE: "ASSISTED STEERING IS LIMITED. PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY". THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET TRUING TURNS. WHEN ERROR CODE WAS DISPLAYED. CAR ONLY HAS 552 MILES. THIS COULD BE A POTENTIAL STEERING ISSUES FOR THE 2018 MODELS.
