The contact waited for five minutes, restarted, and drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic. While driving to the independent mechanic, the service transmission warning light illuminated, and the vehicle would no longer accelerate or move forward. The contact stated that another vehicle nearly crashed into his vehicle due to the failure. The independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with transmission failure. The mechanic notified the contact of NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V169000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. Days later, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start after multiple attempts. The contact retrieved several DTC codes on the low fuel rail pressure and a defect with the fuel rail circuit. I lost power steering while driving. The wheel is locked up and will not steer at all. I was placed in a dangerous situation that could have led to the harm of myself and others. There was not any warning lights or previous issues it just stopped working all together. I took the car to shop and the diagnostic said the steering angle sensor needed to be replaced it was and the issue was not fixed. The code still read internal steering module failure. Code: U3000-96
My car was serviced for the works oil change on 12-5-21 @ Quicklane-ford. Car has 72k miles, on 12-31-21 heading home from work early morning my car at light started to shake. No warning lights or nothing. I went to gas station to get gas so I wouldn’t have to stop later. i attempted to start my car the oil and battery light came on. It took a minute but car initially started. I drove 2 miles home and when i got to a stop sign my car wouldn’t go. When autozone opened i took my car 2 miles to have them test the battery. The tech said,”hey is your car off, the machine says it’s still on.” I stated it wasn’t but he went inside my car to see if it was. He thought that was weird and so did I. The battery was good. So I proceeded to head to quicklane which was 2 miles aways. This time when I got to a intersection my car begin to shake and rpm wouldn’t go up as I attempted to accelerate. I pulled over, to get a tow. When i started the car again oil, battery and overheating light turned on. At Quicklane I got terrible news, that coolant was leaking into engine and that I may need a engine or my head gasket replace. Which may cost at minimum $4000. I asked how could this happened I get my car serviced here all the time. Wouldn’t the ford mechanic detected coolant leaking into oil. When they test that as well. I read that ecoboost suv were recalled but my focus is ecoboost and have similar issues. I treat my car with care get any and every service suggested by Quicklane. Quicklane worker stated that my 2018 car that i bought brand new no miles in 2/19/2019 was old. How so i had a 1997 camry with 330k miles never did this and had same motor. I never got a warning on car about a coolant leak. This is a shame that at 72k miles, I am having to buy a expensive engine or new car. They had recalls on other ecoboost but now I’m thinking all ecoboost by Ford has this issue that is becoming to common. It’s not safe and dangerous Shaking and stopping out of nowhere and no real warning.
This is Safety issue because vehicle stalled and check engine light comes just before Christmas. Dealer reset check engine light and a few days later the vehicle was idling rough and check engine light came on again. Dealer stated that the VIN # is not on the recall list. Contacted Ford recall department on 12/29/2021 who assigned case #CAS-347-49595-X1C1F4 and told me that i would receive a call back within 24 hrs. I never received a call. In addition to the recall this part is covered under the 8/80,00 mile emission warranty. Ford's TSB 17-0050 defines the part (#BVZ-9D289-E) as Evaporative "Emission" Cannister Purge Valve

Suddenly, the vehicle will stall only after it's been fueled. I've read reports of this being common in lots of Ford vehicles with it having something to do with a fuel filter or emissions. The vehicle continues to run and drive but I fear it will continue to do worse. My only option currently is to leave the vehicle running while being fueled.

The check engine light came on a week and a half ago and after having someone do a diagnostic test it sent a code saying an emissions leak somewhere. The car will sputter and sometimes will not restart after fueling and has to be revved up a bit to get it going. The scary part is when it starts to sputter when at an intersection. I called the dealership that I bought this ford focus brand new in 2018 which has 20,000 miles now and the girl answering phones at Brandon Ford Tampa Fl. said my car would not be covered for my problem under warranty. I did not know until just checking online that this was actually one of 2 recall problems with the 2018 ford focus models. Would expect a little more from what is supposed to be the number one ford dealer in the south. I was blown off. Doubt my next new car will be a ford but I am waiting to hear back from you to see if I have any recourse here. Thanks for your time. Ford is aware if an issue with the dual clutch transmissions present in their Ford Focus models from 2011 to 2018. Recently they settled a lawsuit in the case if 2011 to 2016. I would like to report that this issue is still present. They currently want 8000 dollars for the transmission alone, and said that it is still a dual clutch, so it could do the same thing again and give out or it could be fine.

Whether that be a full tank or 15 cents Cant give dates because it happens when put gas in car

Purchased with less than 50k miles with warranty. 2k miles until warranty expired car started jerking and shuddering when taking off. Took to dealership no codes or recalls. A month later car would not start after refueling. Had mechanic replace fuel evap. Fixed one problem but not the shuddering. Problem seems to be worsening. Recall for half of the 2018 focus models for same issues but recall does not include all!
turn the car on going in reverse and it stalled out were I couldn't stop and this was the second time that this happen
Since i bought the car in 2018 i noticed issues with the car. From jerking, shaking when accelerating, even not accelerating at times which almost caused an accident. Also not changing gears properly. It has left me several times with not giving me the option to reverse. For the first year i constantly took the car to ford dealerships to get checked with everytime it coming back with nothing wrong. I wasted time, money and it was really an inconvenience with the whole hassel. Not to mention the stress it put me through which led to mental issues, psychiatric visits and medications. I contacted ford several times and was also getting the run arround. They finally felt they could shut me with some type of free maintenance plan which at that time decided to give up and just accept. 5 months later took the car again with same issues and finally was told my a service rep that a transmission tech had never even looked it in tge past times. After being checked they had to replace something with the clutch. Also about months later some with the fuel valve/pcv had to be repaired which has been a recall for ford but not my specific vehicle/vin. And now only after 3 yeats of owning the car again having issues the same if not worse with the transmission. I no longer have bumber to bumber, powertain or extended warranty due to too many miles. I will be taking it tomorrow which i am sure is going to cost a lot not to mention i am still paying for the car. Oh and ford said even if it was the same thing with the clutch their repair warranty is only 2 years and i just passed that by a couple of months. I have always had used old cars and went through the hassle of car repairs. Being a single mom and moving to a bigger city to pursue my education i decided to buy a new vehicle so I wouldn't have problems but its been a nightmare with this car! I haven't been in a position to trade it or buy another car. I have just had to deal with it and its brought tears & caused mental issues.

Purge valve. Yes. Code p1450 Vacuum in gas tank. Yes. Yes no yes - 2 days ago
I bought the vehicle on 08/21/2021 which is 3 days ago the vehicle has 57k miles on it and I quickly found out why. I realized when stopping at red lights and then trying to accelerate when the light turns green the car boggs down like its stuck in a mud pit and then suddenly flies out of it. I almost rear ended a vehicle and then almost got rear ended. I had the same issues going up and over a mountain. And believe me if they had a return policy like Wal-Mart it would've been returned the same day.
I have under 20,000 miles on the car and its already having issues shifting. The service station said it was a transmission issue. It whines and makes a vibrating sound when I shift gears, and it occasionally kicks back when pulling out of a stop.
The transmission has shuddered and demonstrated excessive slippage for a year. This has caused problems when I accelerate into traffic. I reported it several times to the dealership (Liberty Ford in Canton, Ohio), and the dealer has finally confirmed the issue (several thousand miles after the warranty expired).
My car stalls out when trying to gain speed and then trying to restart it after it stall out is very hard to do. My check engine light is on with a P1450 code.
ALL FOUR ORIGINAL TIRES REPLACED, BALANCED AND FRONT END ALIGNMENT COMPLETED 11/23/20 AT PEP BOYS. THE NEW PASSENGER FRONT AND REAR TIRES DEVELOPED SIDEWALL 2 INCH "BUBBLES" OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS AND I HAVE REPLACED THE FRONT PASSENGER AT MY EXPENSE. THE REAR PASSENGER (SHOWN IN THE PHOTO) HAS YET TO BE REPLACED. THE FRONT SIDEWALL BUBBLE POSSIBLY WAS DUE TO SLIGHT ABRASION BUT SHOULD NOT HAVE OCCURED.
The car engine shuts off (or fails) without any warning while driving. This has happened randomly on numerous occasions since we purchased the car in January of 2021. Today the check oil light and check engine light both came on prior to the engine just completely shutting off while driving and would not restart. There was also a strange engine noise accompanied by the engine running “rough” prior to engine failure. We had to get the car towed. We looked up recalls and there was a recall for our make/model/year but none associated with our specific VIN #. However the recall described our same issues. We would like this investigated as this is very dangerous, unexpected and concerning. The incident happened in a busy city , on a busy road during work hours. The car is currently at a Ford Dealership awaiting inspection but we were already told there are zero recalls for our VIN #.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Focus. The contact stated while that while his daughter was driving 30 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The driver continued to drive to her residence. The contact then took the vehicle to the local dealer to have the vehicle diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to an evap leak. The dealer repaired the vehicle by replacing the defective part. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,100.
Engine and all electrical power suddenly stops while driving with no warning. Car shows "Starting System Fault" when key is turned. After about 30 minutes everything restarts but the car only goes a few miles before cutting out again. This failure is extremely dangerous. We took the car to Town and Country Ford in Nashville TN on Monday July 26,2021 and picked it up on Friday July 30. They said it had been repaired, I drove approximately 6 miles and was on a 5 lane highway doing 60mph when it happened again. I was lucky to safely get to the side of the road. Since the air conditioning and windows also stopped when the heat index was 105 degrees that represents another possible danger. On Sunday July 25 the engine light came on, but being Sunday there was no place to read the code. After the first failure occurred about 10am Monday we had the code read as a P1450. As I hadn't had any experience with fuel system/ emission control we decided to take it to the above dealer. At the time of the Friday failure there was no code or warning. This failure method is extremely dangerous as a car may suddenly stop running in high speed traffic. I have no Idea what would have happened if i had been going uphill. Also if the service tech cannot detect the problem it may be widespread. Vehicle is currently in the dealership.

With a Flat Tire on the side of the road Wheel Lugs can not be removed with supplied wrench because the wheel lug nuts nave a soft metal cap that does not allow the supplied wrench fit the lugs after the tires have been rotated by dealer or any one because the lugs become distorted .
check engine light came on. Vehicle is extremely hard to start after refueling. Seems to be same symptoms as Ford recall 18S32. NHTSA campagin ID 18V735000

I bought my car on July 12, 2019 and had a PCM issue few months after that was messing with the transmission. it was covered under factory warrenty. Now 18 months later im having the same transmission issue but with a different code.. (P07A5) which is something internal. there should be a recall for this transmission cause i cant keep spending money to have this fix
Vehicle stalles, stutter on startup.evap faults. Problem with the canister purge valve. Seems the car has some recalls issues.
First the car engine light came on. Auto put on computer said it's was a emissions thing ..Now Everytime I put gas in it the car stalls and it is hard to keep it going. Also when pulling out it will jerk like the transmission is falling out
On 3-28-21 I got an oil change. Shortly after my engine light came on with error code p1450 which it didn't have beforehand. We first took the car to a mechanic and he said that the code is consistent with a known recall for that year and model for a problem with the fuel system. We took it to a Ford dealership to get an evaluation done and they confirmed that the problem was consistent with the recall the mechanic mentioned however there is no recall for my VIN number. When we put gas in the tank and turn it on again, the engine stalls. It runs rough when idle and sometimes has a problem getting up to speed from sitting at traffic lights.
My car has stalled immediately after putting gas in my car the last two times I've put gas in my car. The last time was May 16, 2021. My car stalls two or three times after I put gas in it. After it starts the idle is rough and will even stall again after running rough for a bit. The potential danger there is that it will stall after leaving the gas pump. I assumed it was the fuel system because the issues I'm getting match the issues that led to a recall of other cars like mine. There are no warnings when this happens.
EVERY SO OFTEN WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR SORT OF SHUDDERS. I'VE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THE CAR BEFORE AND KNEW IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. I'VE ALSO HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR I HAD PREVIOUS TO THIS ONE WHICH WAS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR TRANSMISSIONS TO ACT THIS WAY, BUT IT HAS HAPPENED WAY TOO OFTEN TO BE NORMAL.
OUR 2018 FORD ESCORT HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS DESCRIBED IN: NHSTA CAMPAIIGN #18V7350000 RECAL ID 298184 BUT THIS VIN IS NOT ON RECALL. WE PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR JUST DIED LUCKILY IT WAS NOT ON A HIGHWAY. WE NEED TO KEEP THE TANK AS CLOSE TO FULL AS POSSIBLE AND FILL THE GAS TANK AT THE COOLEST PART OF THE DAY AND IT TAKES A WHILE TO GET THE CAR STARTED. ONE TIME AFTER FILLING THE TANK WE HAD TO WAIT 15 MINS AND THE CAR RAN FINE THEN IT JUST DIED, NEARLY GETTING REAR ENDED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER. THAT WAS ON 4-20-21 AND OTYHER TIMES BEFORE.
I WENT ON A TRIP AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD JUMP AND BUCK IN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR AND I ALSO HEAR GRINDING NOSES WHEN IT STARTS JUMPING CALLED DEALERSHIPS AND WAS TOLD I WAS NOT COVERED ON THIS YEAR MODEL
WHEN DRIVING, THE CAR WILL SHUTTER WHEN CHANGING GEARS. ALSO IN MARCH 2021, RADIO, BACKUP CAMERA AND USB PORTS STOPPED WORKING. DEALERSHIP SAID THAT IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND PAID OVER $800 FOR A NEW RADIO TO BE INSTALLED.
HI I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE 2018 FORD FOCUS HAS THE SAME CLUTCH AS THE OLD 2012-2016 FORD FOCUSES AND THAT THEY'LL CHANGE THE CLUTCH AND THAT THEY'RE IS NO REAL FIX. I SEEN THAT THE 2012-2016 FORD FOCUS HAS A RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION HOWEVER THE 2018 DOESN'T HAVE A RECALL THROUGH THE NHSTA AND IT IS THE SAME TRANSMISSION AND THAT THE DEALER SAYS PEOPLE NEED TO NOTIFY THE NHSTA AS IT IS A RECURRING PROBLEM AND THAT THEY CHANGE MANY CLUTCHES AND TRANSMISSIONS ON THE 2017-2018 AND THAT THE PROBLEM KEEPS PERSISTING THE SAME AS THE 2012-2016 MODELS. THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR, THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES, AND THE TRANSMISSION WILL ALSO GRIND WHILE DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AFTER REFUELING. THE CONTACT STATED THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE PURGE VALVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE IN A PARKING GARAGE WHEN THE STEERING LOCKED UP ON THE VEHICLE. I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO DRIVE THE CAR. THERE WAS NO MESSAGE OR ALERT ON THE VEHICLE DASH. I HAD TO WRESTLE THE STEERING WHEEL WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY TO GET THE CAR IN POSITION TO BE TOWED, AS THE VEHICLE WAS UNDRIVEABLE. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THAT THE ELECTRIC ASSIST POWER STEERING RACK HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS 2 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY, I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR ($2,840). IF THE STEERING FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE, AN ACCIDENT COULD HAVE OCCURRED.
CONSTANT INCONSISTENT SHIFTING OF THE TRANSMISSION, ALONG WITH A PAUSE ON OCCASION WHEN YOU GO TO ACCELERATE ACROSS AN INTERSECTION.
THE VEHICLE IS HARD TO START AFTER I WORK A 10 SHIFT. AFTER IT IS STARTED, IT RUNS ROUGH AND TRIES TO DIE. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT TO STOP RUNNING ROUGH IS TO GET IT TO HIGHWAY SPEED FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. I HAVE TO REV THE ENGINE UP WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE JUST TO GET GOING. IT HAS TRIPPED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE TO HAVE THEM CHECK THE CODE. IT SAYS THAT IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE CANNISTER PURGE VALVE. I HAVE INCLUDED THE REPORT FROM AUTO ZONE. I ALSO DID A SEARCH ON THE INTERNET FOR 2018 FORD FOCUS RECALLS AND IT CAME BACK WITH THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE. APPARENTLY MY ENGINE HASN'T MADE IT INTO THE RECALL YET BECAUSE NOTHING CAME UP WHEN I SEARCHED MY VIN. I AM AFRAID THAT I AM GOING TO TRY TO CROSS A ROAD AND THE ENGINE DIES RIGHT IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC.

WHEN MY CAR IS RUNNING AND SITTING IDLE AT AN INTERSECTION, IT STUTTERS ANS HESITATES TO ACCELERATE. WHEN I AM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND I BEED TO SLIW DOWN OR SPEED UP; MY CAR STUTTERS AND HESITATES.
FUELED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT LATER AND IT STALLED. WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. IT IS A 2018 WITH ONLY 26,000 AND WE OWNED IT A WEEK. BOUGHT FROM WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS A REPUTABLE DEALER. HILLYERS FORD
CAR KEEPS IDLING UP AT A STOP OR WHEN I SLOW DOWN SKIPS AND ACTS LIKE ITS GONE CUT OFF WHEN IT DOES IDLE DOWN

MY CANISTER PURGE VALVE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY BUT IT SHOULD BE. MANY PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ONLINE AND THE DEALERSHIP ITSELF CONFIRMED A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM.
WHEN COMING FROM A COMPLETE STOP AT A RED LIGHT UPON PRESSING THE GAS TO PUT YHE VEHICLE IN MOTION AGAIN , IT STALLS BEFORE TAKING OFF. THE AIRBAG UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL DEPLOYED WHEN MY KNEE BUMPED IT. WHEN PUTTING GAS IN THE CAR THE CAR WILL NOT START BACK UP , IT STARTS N TURNS OFF ON ITS OWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AT VEHICLE START-UP. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HIM THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A DEFECTIVE STUCK OPEN CANISTER PURGE VALVE. DAYS LATER WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AFTER SOME TIME AND RESUMED NORMAL DRIVING. THE CONTACT THEN CALLED OURISMAN FORD LINCOLN OF ALEXANDRIA (6129 RICHMOND HWY, ALEXANDRIA, VA 22303) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. SOMETIMES WHEN I RUN THE CAR EARLY OFF IN THE MORNING I USUALLY LET IT WARM UP. BUT EVEN THOUGH I DO THAT IT SEEMS LIKE IT KIND OF LIKE STRUGGLES IF I ACCELERATE SLOWLY, AND I'M DOING SO IT KIND OF LIKE JERKS THE VEHICLE FORWARD A COUPLE TIMES UNTIL IT JUST CLICKS. THAT'S FOR THE,FOR THE SPEED CONTROL I THINK I PUT IT UNDER. AS FOR THE OTHER ISSUE I WILL TAKE IT TO AUTOZONE AND I NEEDED TO GET CODES BECAUSE MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. AND NOW I'M WONDERING IF IT'S UNDER RECALL, BECAUSE THE CODE P0456, EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SYSTEM AND IT SAYS THERE'S SMALL LEAK OR IT'S CONSIDERED A SMALL LEAK SO I'M JUST WONDERING BUT IF YOU GUYS CAN PLEASE TELL WHAT IT COULD BE THAT WOULD BE AWESOME
ISSUE WITH THE FUEL PURGE VALVE. AFTER GETTING GAS, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND VEHICLE WILL NOT START. ALSO, PROBLEMS WITH THE CLUTCH. VEHICLE STUTTERS AND STALLS, AS WELL AS LEAPS WHILE IN GEAR.
THE VEHICLE STUTTERS AND HESITATES WHEN TAKING OFF OR GOING AROUND CORNERS. I HAVE PANICKED SEVERAL TIMES WONDERING IF I WAS GOING TO GET HIT BY SOMEONE WHEN THE VEHICLE HESITATES AND STUTTERS. IT'S SO PRONOUNCED THAT IT FEELS LIKE THE TIRES BOUNCE. I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS TO TWO FORD DEALERS AND ALSO FORD MOTOR COMPANY FOR A VERY LONG TIME AND HAVE TAKEN IT IN 2-3 TIMES TO LOOK AT THE TRANSMISSION AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED, NOR WAS THERE A RECALL. I DO KNOW THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS TRANSMISSION.
MY BOYFRIEND GOT THIS CAR APRIL 13 OF 2020 AND ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF AFTER WE GOT IT IT STATTS ACTING UP... NOT SHOFTING OUT OF LOWER GEARS. SHUDDERING . WHEN YOU STOP AT A STOP LIGHT FOR TOO LONG AND GO TO TAKE OFF IT ALMOST STALLS. WE ALMOST GOT HIT BECAUSE OF IT! IT SOUNDS LILE GEARS ARE GRINDING OR LIKE WE ARE DRAGGING SOMETHING UNDER THE CAR. WE HAVE TAKEN IT IN TWOCE TO GET CHECKED AND THE FORST GUY THAT SROVE IT AROUND THE LOT SAIS SOMETHING WAS WRONG WOTH IT NUT AFTWR THEY HAD IT ON THE SHOP FOR ABOUT AN HOUR ANS A HALF THEY BRING IT BACK TO US THE SECOND TIME AND SAY NOTHING OS WRONG WOTH IT.... IT IS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE. IS STATTED OUT JUST NOT WAMTING TO SHIFT FROM SECOND GEAR NOW IT DOESNT EVEN WANNA SHIFT OUT OF FIRST MOST THE TIME. 45000 MILES. THERE SHOULD BE NO ISSUES WOTH THIS CAR.
THE CAR'S EXTERIOR DESIGN CAUSES THE REAR WINDOW AND ENTIRE HATCHBACK TO CONTINUALLY BECOME COVERED IN ROAD DIRT AND OBSCURE VISIBILITY OUT THE REAR WINDOW. THE REST OF THE CAR IS IMMACULATELY CLEAN BUT THE WIND DYNAMICS OF THE CAR DESIGN CAUSE ROAD DEBRIS TO ACCUMULATE ON THE REAR PORTION OR THE CAR. THIS HAPPENS WHEN IN MOTION IN ALL TYPES OF DRIVING.
SCAN CODE P1450..ACCORDING TO FORD 1.28 MILLION OF THIS TYPE VEHICLE HAD A FAULTY GAS VACUUM VALVE (?) THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED. ALTHOUGH I'M HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM THE DEALER HAS STATED IT'S 'NOT THEIR PROBLEM'.
MY CAR SHAKES, JERKS, DOES NOT WANT TO ACCERLATE OR SHIFT GEARS
MY CAR HAS BEEN HAVING A ISSUE STAYING ON, IT CONSTANTLY HAS TO GET JUMPED AFTER I PUMPED GAS, WHILE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING THE CAR CUT COMPLETELY OFF. I'M HAVING A PROBLEM ALSO REVERSING AND ACCELERATION, MY CAR IS NOT GOING PAST 10 MILES. I ONLY HAVE 85000 MILES
WHEN I AM IN THE STOP LIGHT AND BEGIN TO RUN THE CAR, SOMETIME, WHEN THE CAR MAKE THE CHANGE OF FIRST SPEED TO SECOND SPEED, IT BEGIN TO TREMBLE (SHAKE).
I GOT THE VEHICLE ON 4/30/2019, ONE MONTH LATER, THE VEHICLE BEGAN WITH ISSUES. AFTER YOU COME TO A FULL STOP AND THEN YOU LET YOU FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO GO FORWARD, THE CAR SHAKES / VIBRATES. I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN MY VEHICLE 3 TIMES TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE, THE ISSUE DOES GET FIX BUT AFTER A MONTH, THE SAME ISSUE BEGINS AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL HAPPEN EVERY MONTH, I WAS NEVER TOLD ABOUT IT BEFORE I BOUGHT/FINANCE THE VEHICLE. ALSO MY VEHICLE IS NOT GETTING THE PROPER FULL MILEAGE IT SHOULD BE GETTING
VEHICLE IS SLOW ACCELERATING ON THE HIGHWAY GETTING ON AND OFF RAMPS. IT JERKS AND LAGS WHEN PROCEEDING AFTER A STOP. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM SINCE PURCHASE. SERVICED MULTIPLE TIMES. PROBLEM ADDRESSED FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND THE JERKING ALWAYS RETURNS.
AFTER YOU COME TO A FULL STOP AND THEN YOU LET YOU FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO GO FORWARD, THE CAR SHAKES/TREMBLES. IT HAPPENS VERY OFTEN. DIDN'T PAY TOO MUCH MIND TO IT AT FIRST, BUT IT KEEPS HAPPENING.
THE CARS EVAP SYSTEM HAS A LEAK
EVAP PURGE VALVE WENT BAD. THERE IS A RECALL ON FOCUSES 2012-2018 FOR THE PURGE VALVE BUT NOT MY PARTICULAR VIN. I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 26 MONTHS. I DON'T EXPECT SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO GO BAD THAT SOON. REPAIR NOT COVERED UNDER THE EMISSIONS WARRANTY NOR THE POWER TRAIN. THIS DEFECT CAUSED MY ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON, THE CAR TO RUN ROUGH AND PROMPT SEVERAL ENGIN CODES.
MY 2018 FORD FOCUS ST (~8K MILES) HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH RPMS SUDDENLY INCREASING WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. FOR EXAMPLE, TWO WEEKENDS AGO, I WAS SHIFTING FROM SECOND GEAR TO THIRD GEAR AND MY CAR WENT UP BY 3000 RPMS AFTER I LET MY FOOT OFF THE THROTTLE. ON ITS OWN! THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY USUALLY WHEN THE CAR IS HOT (ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO RIDE) AND EXAGGERATED WHEN THE FLOOR HEATING IS ON. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A VALVE ISSUE BUT FOUND MULTIPLE FORUM POSTS WITH THIS EXACT PROBLEM AND HOW A LOT OF ST OWNERS WENT THROUGH MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS TO GET THEIR THROTTLE PEDAL ASSEMBLY REPLACED TO PERMANENTLY FIX THE PROBLEMS. HERE ARE THE LINKS TO THE FORUM POSTS: HTTPS://WWW.FOCUSST.ORG/THREADS/RPMS-ACTUALLY-INCREASE-ON-CLUTCH.128706/ AND HTTPS://WWW.CARGURUS.COM/CARS/DISCUSSION-T75504_DS901319. ALSO A VIDEO DEMONSTRATING THE ISSUE: HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=EQO2PH9KHLC (THE VIDEO IS REGARDING THE 2018 FOCUS RS WHICH HAS THE SAME PEDAL PARTS AS THE 2018 FOCUS ST). THIS HAS CAUSED PEOPLE ACCIDENTS AND I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO.
A YEAR AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW THE CAR BEGAN TO 'SLIP' AND SHUDDER DURING ACCELERATION. THE CLUTCH WAS FOUND TO BE BAD AND WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. A YEAR LATER THE CAR IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND IS HAVING DIFFICULTY SHIFTING GEARS ESPECIALLY AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY. WAY TOO MUCH RPM IS REQUIRED FOR THE CAR TO FUNCTION AT HIGH SPEEDS.
MY CAR STARTED SHAKING WHEN TAKING OFF. LOOKING INTO IT I FOUND OUT IT IS A KNOW PROBLEM WITH A BAD TRANSMISSION THAT IS THE FORD FOCUS. IT WAS RECALLED IN PREVIOUS YEARS BUT FORD SAID THEY FIXED IT IN THE NEW MODELS. I CAN'T AFFORD TO TAKE IT TO A SHOP TO HAVE IT REPLACED SO I JUST HAVE TO DRIVE IT HOPING IT GET RECALLED BEFORE MY TRANSMISSION GOES OUT. THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE TRANSMISSION IT SHUDDERS FROM 1-2 GEAR. THEY WERE FORCED TO RECALL THE MANUAL VERSION BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT NOT THE AUTOMATIC AS OF YET. WHEN THE CAR IS OFF AND IN PARK YOU CAN TURN THE TIRE BACK AND FORTH AND HEAR THE GEARS CLANGING BACK IN FOURTH IN THE TRANSMISSION WHICH IS NOT NORMAL. I DON'T HAVE A MECHANICS REPORT TO SUBMIT. THE ONLY THING I HAVE IS A VIDEO OF WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE BUT IT WON'T LET ME SUBMIT IT THROUGH HERE. YOU CAN EMAIL ME WITH ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OF IF YOU WANT THE VIDEO. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. WHILE AT THIS POINT IT ISN'T A SAFETY CONCERN OF IT PROGRESSES OR THE TRANSMISSION GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING IT COULD BE.
EVERYTIME I GO TO GET GAS AND TRY TO RESTART MY CAR, CHECK BATTERY LIGHT POPS UP AND MY CAR WON'T FULLY START, AND EVER SINCE THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON, TODAY I HAD TO CALL SOMEONE GET A JUMP AT THE GAS STATION.
I BOUGHT MY 2018 FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK ON 06/23/2018 AND ON 09/03/20 I HAD TO HAVE MY FRONT AND REAR ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS REPLACED. THE ROTOR WAS CRACKED AND THEY WERE REALLY RUSTED. MAKING MY CAR UNDRIVABLE. THIS MAKES ME SICK THAT FORD USES SUCH CHEAP PARTS THAT I MYSELF AS A POOR MICHIGANDER HAD TO REPLACE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS WITHIN 2 YEARS OF BUYING A BRAND NEW CAR.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. SERVICE DEPT IDENTIFIED PROBLEM CODES P1450, P0456 WHICH ARE UNDER RECALL BUT THE VIN FOR MY CAR IS NOT UNDER RECALL. RECALL NOTICE WARNS, ENGINE COULD STALL AT ANYTIME! CALLED FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS CENTER, NOTHING DONE BECAUSE VIN IS NOT UNDER RECALL. CANNOT DRIVE CAR BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE. ON FIXED INCOME, CANNOT PAY FOR REPAIR OUT OF POCKET. PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU.
SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT INDICATED EVAP,VERY SMALL LEAK. RESET CODE AND A DIFFERENT CODE CAME UP FOR A VACUUM IN THE FUEL TANK. UNABLE TO EFFECT REPAIRS MY SELF AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT CARDINAL FORD DEALERSHIP. 11400 NEW HALLS FERRY RD. STL, 63033. ATTACHED DOCUMENTS DETAIL REPAIR AND COST.
CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING AND WOULD NOT RE-START. CAR WAS LOW ON FUEL (APPROXIMATELY 1/8 OF TANK) BUT WAS NOT OUT OF GAS.
THE ENGINE STALLS AFTER ADDING FUEL AT A GAS STATION, THEN HESITATES TO START. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION (AUTOMATIC) SLIPS GEARS, ESPECIALLY WHEN VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR LONG PERIOD OF TIME. TRANSMISSION ALSO MAKES CLICKING NOISES WHEN DRIVING OFF.
WHILE DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE IT IS STUTTERING. NOT MUCH MORE INFORMATION THAN THAT IT'S CLOSE TO WHAT WAS HAPPENING ON THE OLDER FOCUSES HAPPENS MORE UPON ACCELERATION
MY TRANSMISSION CLUTCHES. THEY HESITATE , SHUTTER AND IT NEVER WANTS TO MOVE AND HAS ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED TWICE.
THERE ARE MORE THAN A FEW FAULTY PURGE VALVE AND SIMILAR TYPE VALVES ON THE FORD FOCUS POSSIBLY CAUSING EXCESSIVE VACUUM IN FUEL VAPOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. THE EXCESSIVE VACUUM MAY RESULT IN AN ENGINE STALL WHILE DRIVING,. WITHOUT WARNING AND WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. AND YET MY YEAR MODEL AND MOTOR SIZE DID NOT MAKE THAT LIST. BUT YET I HAVE THIS PROBLEM ON MY 2018 FORD FOCUS SE ONLY @ 40,0000 MILES . THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE W/ MY YOUNG COLLEGE STUDENT DRIVING ALL HOURS OF NIGHT ON BACK ROADS DUE TO HER SCHEDULE. SHE HAD NO WARNING NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NOTHING. SHE WAS VERY LUCKY THIS DID NOT STALL ON THE HIGHWAY. SHE COULD HAVE BEEN REAR-END OR WHO NO WHAT ELSE. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD ME FORD MANUFACTURING ISSUE AND THAT IT SHOULD BE ADDED TO SAFETY RECALL LIST
THE ENGINE STALLS AFTER ADDING FUEL AT A GAS STATION, THEN HESITATES TO START. BEEN TOLD ITS THE PURGE VALVE STUCK, BUT DEALER CHECKED AND ONLY CLEARED THE ENGINE LIGHT. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH SLIPS FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEARS, ESPECIALLY WHEN VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR LONG PERIOD OF TIME. TRANSMISSION ALSO MAKES CLICKING NOISES WHEN DRIVING OFF. NOTE; THE SAME VEHICLE, YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE VERY SAME ISSUES, HOWEVER FOR SOME REASON MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED.
MY CAR HAS BEEN STALLING, NOT WANTING TO TURN ON AND ITS ALSO USING WAY MORE GAS THAN WHAT IT SHOULD REALLY BE USING. I WENT FROM HAVING 34-35 MILES TO THE GALLON AND IT DROPPED DOWN TO 29 MILES TO THE GALLON... I HAVE TAKEN IT TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND THEY SAID IT WAS MY PURGE VALVE.
THE LCD SCREEN IS TOTALLY BLACK. NO VISIBLE CONTROLS WITHOUT SCREEN.
MY CAR 2018 FORD FOCUS ISN'T PART OF THE RECALL. I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE.
IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS I HAVE STAYED STRANDED SEVERAL TIMES. I DID HAVE GAS, THE TIMES I STAYED RANGED FROM IT SAYING I HAD 13MILES, ANOTHER TIME I WAS AT 28MILES, ANOTHER TIME AT 30MILES AND THE MOST RECENT TIME WAS 20 MILES. 3 DAYS AGO THE ENGINE SIGN CAME OUT, THAT DAY I AS AT A FORD QUICKENED GETTING AN OIL CHANGE AND TOLD THEM ABOUT IT AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME $75 TO CHECK THE CODE SO I DIDN'T TILL TODAY THAT I HAD TIME TO TAKE IT TO AUTOZONE AND IT WAS FREE. THE CODE THAT CAME OUT IS P1450 (3/3) PERMANENT. I DID NOTICE THERE WAS A RECALL IN OCTOBER 2018, I BOUGHT MY CAR FEB 2018. PLEASE PLEASE HELP, I AM BARELY AFFORDING THE CAR PAYMENT, I WOULDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO IF I STAYED STRANDED AND THIS TIME IT DOESN'T TURN ON, I NEED THE CAR FOR WORK, IT COULD AFFECT ME FINANCIALLY AND EMOTIONALLY.
I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK ON 8/25/2020 ABOUT A MILE AWAY THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON SO I TURN AROUND TO LEAVE IT HOME THEN MY VEHICLE STALLED ALL OF THE SUDDEN WITH NO WARNING OTHER THAN THE ENGINE AND OIL LIGHTS CAMING ON, I TOWED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ADIAGNOSIS SAME DAY AND THIS MORNING OF 8/26/2020 I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE DEALERS SHOP AND THEY ARE STATING THAT THE OIL PUMP WENT OUT AND RUINED THE BATTERY AND NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE THE BATTERY ON THE VEHICLE, NOW IM CONCERNED BECAUSE I DID NOT GET ANY WARNING FROM THE ENGINE, NO SMOKE, NO RATTLING OR SHAKING AND THE WEIRD THING IS THAT IT CRANKS BUT WONT START, IT JUST STALLED AND IT TURNS OUT TO BE A BLOWN ENGINE.
WHEN DRIVING MY CAR THE ENGINE STALLS TRYING TO GET IT UP TO SPEED AND WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO STEP INTO IT MY CAR STALLS TO WHERE IT FEELS LIKE YOUR FOOT IS AT THE FLOOR MY DEALERSHIP CLAIMS IT'S JUST THE STYLE OF THE CAR IT'S SUPPOSED TO DO THAT
MY DAUGHTER DRIVING HER 2018 FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK WAS INVOLVED IN A HIGH IMPACT FRONT END COLLISON AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AT IMPACT. THE FOCUS HIT A SUV WHO SUDDENLY MADE A COMPLETE STOP FOR NO REASON ON 40 MPH ROAD. THE IMPACT WAS A DIRECT HIT TO THE FOCUS'S FRONT BUMPER FLUSH WITH SUV'S BACK BUMPER. THE DRIVER'S SIDE KNEE AIRBAG WAS THE ONLY AIRBAG TO DEPLOY AND THE MY DAUGHTER (DRIVER) WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO THE NEAREST HOSPITAL, SUFFERED MULTIPLE COMPRESSION FRACTURES OF THE SPINE, INJURIES TO MULTIPLE INTERVERTEBRAL DISCS, AN APPARENT KNEE LIGAMENT INJURY, AND OTHER SUPERFICIAL BRUISES, CUTS, AND SCRAPS TO THE HIPS, LEGS, SHOULDER, CHEST, AND ARMS. THE HOOD ENDED UP BENT IN HALF LIKE AN "A" FRAME, THE WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED, MOST OF THE FRONT END WAS PUSHED INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, AND THE STEERING WHEELING HOUSING WAS CRACKED. THE FORD FOCUS IS A TOTAL LOSS. DURING EXTRACTION OF THE DRIVER, THE FIRE AND RESCUE CUT POWER TO THE VEHICLE TO PREVENT THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG FROM DEPLOYING. THEY REMARKED TO THE DRIVER THAT THE STEERING WHEEL AND SIDE AIRBAGS SHOULD'VE DEPLOYED WITH THE AMOUNT OF IMPACT TO THE VEHICLE AND INJURIES SUSTAINED BY THE DRIVER. MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL 3 DAYS AND IS AWAITING A BACK BRACE AND KNEE BRACE AND APPOINTMENTS WITH A NEUROSURGEON, ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON, PHYSICAL THERAPIST, AND PAIN MANAGEMENT. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF A WARNING LIGHT FOR FAULTY AIR BAG AND THE VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 30500 ON IT AND WAS STILL UNDER THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. A COPY OF THE POLICE REPORT IS PENDING RELEASE AT THIS TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY START. THE FAILURE WAS ONLY PRESENT WHEN REFUELING MORE THAN A HALF TANK OF FUEL. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY SHUTOFF AND THE MESSAGE TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK WOULD BE DISPLAYED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WERE NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER PALMETTO FORD LOCATED AT 1625 SAVANNAH HWY, CHARLESTON SC 29407 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.*DT*JB
STUCK CANISTER PURGE VALVE (MAY CAUSE STALL). MINE ALWAYS TRIGGERED P1450 "UNABLE TO BLEED UP FUEL TANK VACUUM" CODE AFTER FILLING AT GAS STATION. I PURCHASED AND REPLACED THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE FROM FORD IN MIDLAND, MI. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL PART AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO PURCHASE! THIS DESIGN IS FLAWED AND ALL MODELS WITH THIS DESIGN (AND ALL YEARS) NEED TO BE ADDED TO THE RECALL. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS IF IT STALLED AT A BAD TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AFTER REFUELING, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE EVAP PURGE VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,000.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THE CAR WILL OCCASIONALLY SHUDDER. MY GEAR ALSO SHIFTS HARD AND SLIPS SOMETIMES ON THE DOWNSHIFT TO 1ST. THE SLIP ON THE DOWNSHIFT LURCHED MY CAR FORWARD IN THE RAIN AND ALMOST SLID ME INTO AN INTERSECTION THAT WAS BUSY. WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR TO FORD THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE MY ISSUE AND THAT THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING WHICH MEANS I AM NOW STUCK TERRIFIED TO DRIVE MY CAR IN THE RAIN. WHICH IS RIDICULOUS CONSIDERING IT ONLY HAS 49K MILES
MY PURGE VALVE STUCK ON OPEN EACH FULL OF GAS THE CAR IDLE AND DIE FOR COUPLE TIME POWER TRAIN GRANDING AT LOW MPG
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO OVERTAKE ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR. THE VEHICLE THEN DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CRATER LAKE FORD LINCOLN (2611 BIDDLE RD, MEDFORD, OR 97504, 541-887-6176) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,500.
WHEN YOU REFUEL THE CAR IT WILL HESITATE TO RESTART, IT TAKES AT LEAST THREE TIMES TO GET THE CAR TO START.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO PROPERLY ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE SPUTTERED, HESITATED, JERKED, AND RESPONDED VERY SLOWLY. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 9,000.
MY CAR IS DOING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS THE OTHER RECALLS ARE HAVING. PROBLEMS WITH THE EVAP SYSTEM AND THE TRANSMISSION STALLING I PUT IT IN GEAR AND IT WONT GO
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE POWER STEERING CEASED WITH THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GARY YEOMANS FORD LINCOLN (1420 N TOMOKA FARMS RD, DAYTONA BEACH, FL 32124) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH POWER STEERING FAILURE AND REPAIRED. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE STEERING CEASED WITH THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. GARY YEOMANS FORD WAS CONTACTED AND IT WAS SUGGESTED TO REMOVE THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL FOR APPROXIMATELY TWENTY MINUTES AND THEN RECONNECT THE TERMINAL TO RESET THE SYSTEM. THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE FOLLOWED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER HOWEVER, THE REPAIR WAS STILL PENDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
A FULL TANK IS 160 MILES. AND HAS A SMELL WHEN THE A/C ON. ENGINE LIGHT ON BUT CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN THE CAR STOPPED SPEEDING UP. I KEPT HITTING THE BREAKS AND ALL MY CAR CONTINUED TO DO WAS SLOW DOWN. AFTER THAT THEN MY CAR KEPT KICKING BACK AT ME WHEN I WAS TRYING TO PRESS ON THE GAS AGAIN WHEN I COULD HIT THE GAS OR TURN ON THE CAR TO START IT WAS KICKING BACK. I GO BACK TO TRY ONE MORE TIME TO TURN ON THE CAR AND ALL MY SYSTEMS SHUT OFF AND ALSO INCLUDING MY VEHICLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO PROPERLY SHIFT GEARS WHILE THE RPMS INCREASED AT LOW SPEEDS. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START IMMEDIATELY WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. MOUNTAINEER FORD LOCATED AT 615 N. EISENHOWER DR, BECKLEY, WV 25801, WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
THERE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE 2 BOLTS ON THE BACK OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT. 1 CLOSE TO THE DOOR AND ONE NEXT TO THE CONSOLE. I LOOKED AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS NO BOLT IN THE MACHINED HOLE CLOSEST TO THE REAR OF THE CENTER CONSOLE. I NOTICED THIS WHILE THE CAR WAS STATIONARY, WHILE I WAS VACUUMING THE FLOOR. *TR
ONE OF THE 2 REAR BOLTS THAT BOLT THE REAR OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT TO CAR FLOOR IS MISSING. I NOTICED THIS WHEN I WAS VACUUMING THE CAR OUT. THE SEAT IS ONLY BOLTED A 3 POINTS AND IS A MAJOR SECURITY ISSUE. *TR
DROVE THE CAR FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, THEN STOPPED AT A GAS STATION. WHEN THE CAR WAS STARTED AGAIN, THE POWER STEERING FAILURE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, AND POWER STEERING ASSIST WAS NONOPERATIONAL. EVEN AFTER COOLING DOWN THE ENGINE, THE POWER STEERING STILL DID NOT WORK. TOOK TO A FORD SERVICE CENTER, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE RACK AND PINION SYSTEM HAD FAILED, AND IT WOULD COST ABOUT $2,000 TO FIX. *TR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CHECKED- DIAGNOSIS PURGE VALVE IS STUCK OPEN WHICH IS ALLOWING ENGINE VACUUM INTO THE FUEL TANK WHICH HAS FLATTENED THE FUEL TANK FLAT. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL ON 2018 FORD FOCUS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE IT JUST DOES NOT INCLUDE MY VIN. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT INCLUDED IN CURRENT RECALL. *TR

I HAD ISSUES WITH CAR STALLING LAST YEAR. I BROUGHT IT IN TO MY DEALER HENDERSON FORD IN WEBSTER, NY AND THEY FIXED IT SUPPOSEDLY. NOW HERE IT IS ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER AND I HAVE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. I KNOW THIS YEAR FORD FOCUS WAS RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT NOT MY MODEL. WHY WASN'T IT INCLUDED? CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX IT DUE TO NOT WORKING BECAUSE OF VIVID. *TR
THE CAR SKIPS WHEN PICKING UP SPEED. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, I HEARD A LOUD POP. NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE AROUND AT THE TIME. I OPENED THE SUNROOF COVER AND NOTICED IT WAS SHATTERED. I PULLED INTO THE GAS STATION TO SEE THAT THERE WAS A LARGE HOLE IN MY SUNROOF.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE FROM ACCELERATION OF 5MPH THE STEERING WHEEL WILL SHAKE THE GAS PEDAL SHAKES AS WELL AS THE CAR. IT HAPPENS DURING ACCELERATION FROM STOPLIGHTS AND WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY LIMITS AND TURNING
EACH TIME I FILL THE CAR WITH GAS, EVEN WITH THE TANK HALF FULL, THE CAR STALLS AND HAS TROUBLE STARTING. I HAVE CHECKED FOR CLOGGED OR CRACKED FUEL LINES AND THERE ARE NONE. IT PUTS OUT THE CODE P1450. REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL TANK PRESSURE SOLENOID AND IT'S STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE READ THAT THERE MAY BE A RECALL OF SOME SORT ON THE FUEL SYSTEM IN THESE CARS. *TR
OUR FOCUS WAS HIT BY A CAR. THE VEHICLE HIT THE FOCUS PRIMARILY IN THE AREA OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THE DOOR WAS PUSHED IN/CRUMPLED APPROXIMATELY 18-20 INCHES OVERALL, INTRUDING INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE WINDOW SHATTERED. THE DAMAGE TO THE FENDER WAS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO DISTORT THE FRONT BUMPER. THE "PAN" OR AREA IMMEDIATELY BELOW THE DOOR WAS BENT APPROXIMATELY 6 TO 8 INCHES TOWARD THE MIDLINE OF THE CAR. THE FORCE OF THE ACCIDENT SPUN' THE FOCUS APPROXIMATELY 180 DEGREES RESULTING IN THE FOCUS COLLIDING WITH A GUARDRAIL. THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT WITH THE GUARDRAIL BENT/DISTORTED THE BODY OF THE CAR AND CAUSED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE REAR BUMPER AND BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY. THE EXTENT AND EXPENSE OF REPAIRING THE DAMAGES NECESSITATED THE CAR BE CONSIDERED "TOTALED" BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE REASON FOR MY COMPLAINT/REGISTRATION OF CONCERN IS NEITHER THE FRONT OR SIDEWALL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED DESPITE THE SEVERITY OF THE ACCIDENT. PART OF THE DECISION TO PURCHASE THE FOCUS WAS BASED ON THE SAFETY FEATURES INCLUDING THE AIRBAGS. IN HINDSIGHT, HAD WE KNOWN OF THE AIRBAG'S PROPENSITY TO FAIL TO DEPLOY DURING AN ACCIDENT OF THIS SEVERITY, OUR BUYING DECISION WOULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT. THE AIRBAG'S FAILURE TO DEPLOY SHOULD BE EXAMINED FOR ADEQUACY OF PURPOSE FOR WHICH THEY WERE DESIGNED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MCCOMBS FORD WEST (7111 NORTHWEST LOOP 410, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78238) FOR WARRANTY SERVICE ON THE TRANSMISSION AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. HOWEVER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING, THE CONTACT TURNED ON THE HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AND WAS ABOUT TO DRIVE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK AND NECK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT MOVED FORWARD AS A RESULT, THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED FACE AND CHIN INJURIES AFTER COLLIDING WITH THE DASHBOARD AS WELL AS BACK AND NECK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE DRIVER FROM THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS NOT AWARE OF DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS BECAUSE HIS LAWYER WAS DEALING WITH THE ACCIDENT CASE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE DTC CODE SHOWED A FAILURE WITH THE CANISTER VENT SOLENOID. THE PART WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED A WEEK LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND DIFFERENT DTC CODE WAS RETRIEVED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS STILL DUE TO THE CANISTER VENT SOLENOID FAILURE. ADDITIONALLY, AFTER REFUELING SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE NECESSARY TO START THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT REACHED OUT TO THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT A CALLBACK WOULD BE FORTHCOMING. THE CONTACT STATED SEVERAL MORE ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO REACH THE MANUFACTURER HOWEVER, THE PHONE NUMBER WAS NO LONGER IN SERVICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,500.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, ANOTHER VEHICLE MAKING A LEFT TURN T-BONED HER VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER FRONT SIDE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG CAME OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THE STEERING WHEEL; HOWEVER, THE AIR BAG DID NOT INFLATE AND SIMPLY HIT THE FLOOR. THE OTHER AIR BAGS IN THE VEHICLE FAILED TO DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WENT TO THE HOSPITAL AND WAS TREATED FOR PAIN TO HER LOWER BACK AND RIGHT SIDE OF HER NECK. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS ALSO TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL; HOWEVER, THE DRIVER'S INJURIES WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS INITIALLY TOWED TO A FAMILY MEMBER'S RESIDENCE AND WAS LATER TOWED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WHERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. *LN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP SIGN AND ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND DRIVEN TO PARKS FORD OF WESLEY CHAPEL LOCATED AT (28739 FLORIDA 54, WESLEY CHAPEL, FL 33543), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
I'VE OWNED THREE DIFFERENT FORDS, ALL OF WHICH WERE THE FOCUS SE (2013,2014, AND DEBATED PURCHASING THE 2018) AND ALL OF THESE HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSIONS SLIPPING. WHEN SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR JOLTS BACK AND FORTH AND HESITATES TO SHIFT GEARS. I TEST DROVE THE CAR TODAY AND EVEN THE DEALER ADMITTED THAT THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR CARS BUT FOR THIS CAR IS TYPICAL BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY ISSUES.
MY 2018 FOCUS HAS 2 CODES FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT P1450 AND P0456. THESE 2 ISSUES ARE THE SAME THING OTHER 2018 FOCUS'S HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR. WE ARE AT 43000 MILES AND THINK THIS CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED AS WELL.
AFTER WARM, AT A RED LIGHT, IN NEUTRAL (MANUAL TRANSMISSION), CAR WILL DROP RPM AND STUTTER, NEARLY STALLING OUT. SOMETIMES ONLY ONCE, AND OTHER TIMES REPEATEDLY WHILE SITTING THERE.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION. WHILE IN MOTION, GOING THROUGH GEARS DURING ACCELERATION, CLUTCH PUSHED IN, FOOT OFF GAS, RPMS GO UP ANYWHERE BETWEEN 500 AND 1500 FOR SEVERAL SECONDS BEFORE DROPPING. IF YOU DON'T CLUTCH IN, CAR CONTINUES TO PULL AS THOUGH THE GAS PEDAL IS STUCK AND THE "SHIFT UP" LIGHT STAYS ON.
TRANSMISSION/CLUTCHES STARTED SLIPPING OR JERKING WHEN THE CAR HAD LESS THAN 7000 MILES. THE SLIPPING IS WORSE WHEN STARTING OUT ON A HILL, OR WHEN MAKING TURNS. IT HAS ALSO SLIPPED WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO FAILS TO HOLD THE CAR STATIONARY WHEN STOPPED FACING UPHILL. WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP LIGHT OR SIGN ON A HILL, THE CAR WILL SLIP BACK. IT WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX IT FOR OVER TWO MONTHS DUE TO "PARTS BEING ON BACKORDER"
MANUAL TRANSMISSION- WHEN I PUSH CLUTCH IN ENGINE RPMS INCREASE BY 3000. WHEN LETTING OFF CLUTCH ENGINE STAY INCREASED AND CAR JUMPS THIS HAPPENS GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND PARKED UNKNOWN CAUSE
HEAD LAMP SERVICE FAULT . YOU LOSE ALL POWER TO THE HEADLIGHTS AND YOUR KEY FOB DOES NOT REGISTER. MEANING YOU CAN JUST HOP IN THE CAR WITH NO KEYS AND DRIVE. ALSO THE CAR TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING
THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCHES. I DROVE THE CAR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH SURGING/LUGGING. NOW, IT IS HAPPENING IN LOWER GEARS AND WHEN I ACCELERATE TO HIGHER GEARS. IT IS NOW HAPPENING WHEN I AM IN REVERSE, TOO.
2018 FORD FOCUS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO SHAKING IN MOTOR. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. *JS
ON DECEMBER 12TH, 2019, I WAS INVOLVED IN A THREE-CAR FENDER BENDER ON FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY IN VIRGINIA. I WAS TRAVELING IN SLOW-MOVING TRAFFIC AT 7:20AM, CLOSE TO RESTON HOSPITAL, WHEN THE TWO CARS IN FRONT OF ME SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES UNEXPECTEDLY AND I UNFORTUNATELY COULD NOT BRAKE IN TIME TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE CAR DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME WAS A TOYOTA SUV AND HAD A TOW-BAR, WHICH TOOK MOST OF THE IMPACT OF THE CRASH AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. ASIDE FROM SOME MINOR SCRATCHES, BOTH OF THE OTHER CARS INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT WERE FINE AND THE TWO DRIVERS WERE ABLE TO CONTINUE ON THEIR WAYS TO WORK. MY CAR, ON THE OTHER HAND HAS BEEN DECLARED A TOTAL LOSS BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY AS IT IMMEDIATELY BURST INTO FLAMES UPON IMPACT. AS I MENTIONED ABOVE, THE TRAFFIC WAS SLOW-MOVING SO WE WERE NOT TRAVELING AT MORE THAN 25-30MPH AT ANY TIME ON THAT STRETCH AS WE NAVIGATED THE TRAFFIC. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A VERY LOW-IMPACT AND MINOR INCIDENT; HOWEVER, FOR SOME UNKNOWN AND UNEXPLAINABLE REASON, THE FORD FOCUS WAS ON FIRE BEFORE I EVEN KNEW THAT I HAD CRASHED. THE IMPACT WAS SO MINIMAL THAT NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. FIREFIGHTERS WERE ONSITE WITHIN 5 MINUTES AND HAD DIFFICULTY PUTTING OUT THE BLAZE. IN ADDITION, I WAS STILL IN THE CAR WHILE IT WAS ON FIRE BECAUSE IT HAPPENED IMMEDIATELY UPON IMPACT, SO WHILE I WAS LUCKY TO WALK AWAY WITHOUT ANY PHYSICAL INJURIES, I WAS IMMEDIATELY TAKEN TO THE AMBULANCE TO MONITOR MY VITALS AND TRY TO CONTROL MY SHOCK. I REALIZE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS OF FORD FOCUS VEHICLES PURCHASED IN 2017 AND PRIOR; HOWEVER, I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THE SAFETY CONCERNS RAISED IN PREVIOUS LAWSUITS AGAINST FORD PERTAIN DIRECTLY TO THE 2018 MODEL AS WELL. WE HAD ALREADY REPLACED THE CLUTCH IN THE FOCUS AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF BECAUSE OF A TRANSMISSION FAILURE ALSO NOTED IN PREVIOUS YEARS.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SURGES WHILE DRIVING LIKE IT IS SEARCHING FOR PROPER GEAR. PUT IN PARK ON HILL SOMETIMES CAR WILL START TO ROLL THEN TRANSMISSION CATCHES AND HOLDS IN PLACE. WHEN GO TO BACK IN TO PARK TAKE STOP TAKE OUT OF DRIVE TO NEUTRAL THEN TO REVERSE LIKE IT IS STILL IN NEUTRAL GIVE A LITTLE ACCELERATOR AND IT WILL CATCH IN REVERSE. THESE PROBLEMS ARE INTERMITTENT AND NOT ALL THE TIME WHILE DRIVING. THE DRIVING AND PARKING ON HILL ISSUE IS A COUPLE MONTHS. THE REVERSE ISSUE IS A YEAR OR MORE.
VEHICLE BEGAN LOSING POWER WHILE ACCELERATING AND THEN WHEN SUDDENLY JERK FORWARD. THIS HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET, TRYING TO GO JUST 25 MPH. TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON. UPON TAKING VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY DETERMINED THAT THE CLUTCH WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CAR CURRENTLY ONLY HAS 6,200 MILES ON IT. NOT FEELING GREAT ABOUT THIS PURCHASE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED, SHOOK, AND VIBRATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, BUT WAS MORE PRONOUNCED WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STANDSTILL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SANES FORD (4721 AYERS ST, CORPUS CHRISTI, TX) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH WAS FAULTY. THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
MY LOW BEAM NOTIFICATION CAME ON MY DASH WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE MY LIGHT I NOTICED THAT THE WIRING IS TINGED AND EXPOSED AND THE LIGHT IS BROWN AND BURNT I'M NOT SURE IF THERE WAS AN ELECTRIC FIRE OR WHAT HAPPENED. I WAS PARKED AND TURNED MY CAR ON WHEN THE NOTIFICATION CAME UP.
1)WHEN ACCELERATOR IS PUSHED ENGINE SURGES BUT CAR DOESN'T MOVE THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, BANG, TRANSMISSION ENGAGES WITH SUDDEN ACCELERATION. 2)PUSHING ACCELERATOR CAR BOGS DOWN INSTEAD OF ACCELERATING, SLOWLY ACCELERATING UP TO SPEED. 3)OCCASIONALLY TURNING A CORNER YOU PUSH ON ACCELERATOR NOTHINGS THERE, YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR TRANSMISSION TO FINALLY ENGAGE. 4)TRANSMISSION HAS OVERHEATED TWICE, THE DISPLAY SAYS TO SHUT OFF CAR FOR FIVE MINUTES BUT ONCE I COULD NOT GET OVER IN TRAFFIC AND IT JUST SHUT DOWN IN LANE TWO OF THE FREEWAY WHERE I HAD TO SIT UNTIL THE HEAT IN TRANSMISSION WENT DOWN FAR ENOUGH SO IT WOULD ENGAGE AGAIN. 5)PUSHING PEDAL LIGHTLY WILL CAUSE CAR TO MOVE BUT IT SHUDDERS, THEN IT WILL CLANK, THEN SHUDDER, CLANK THEN SHUDDER SEVERAL TIMES AS IT MOVES SLOWLY, IT WILL DO THIS UNTIL YOU USE THE BRAKE TO STOP. 6)VERY LOUD CLANK WHEN ACCELERATING DOWN TO A STOP LIGHT. 7)YESTERDAY IN THE MORNING, 12/11, I BACKED OUT OF DRIVEWAY THEN WHEN I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE NOTHING, CAR DID NOT MOVE. SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL AND BACK INTO DRIVE AND LOW A NUMBER OF TIMES THE TRANSMISSION FINALLY ENGAGED, YOU COULD HEAR IT CONNECTING. 8)TRANSMISSION IS VERY LOUD, CLANKING WHEN DOWNSHIFTING OR COMING TO STOP. 9)THESE PROBLEMS ARE NOT CONSTANT BUT HAPPEN THROUGHOUT THE DAY, EVERY DAY. 10)THERE HAVE BEEN VARIOUS OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION THAT ARE HARD TO DESCRIBE. 11)DRIVING ON THE STREET OR HIGHWAY THE TRANSMISSION WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN DISENGAGE AS THE ENGINE WILL SURGE SINCE THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT IN GEAR THAN BANG IT WILL ENGAGE AGAIN.
THE ISSUE HAPPENS OFF AND ON WHEN YOU USE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE THROTTLE KEEPS ACCELERATING UP TO SEVERAL MINUTES AFTER YOU COMPLETELY TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF IT. I FIRST NOTICED THE ISSUE A MONTH AFT BUYING THE CAR BRAND NEW AND IT'S BEEN CONSISTENTLY HAPPENING FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO FORD TWICE ALREADY AND THEY TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. I NOTICED THE PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME ON A HIGHWAY OFF RAMP WHEN THE BREAKS SEEMED TO NOT BE HARDLY WORKING. WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL THE BREAKS STARTED WORKING JUST FINE AND THE CAR INSTANTLY STARTED RED LINING. THE ISSUE SINCE THEN HAS HAPPENED IN TOWN ON THE HIGHWAY EVEN WHEN PARKED. SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN WHEN ITS COLDER OUT BUT STILL HAPPENS WHEN 90 OUT. I HAVE TAKEN TWO VIDEOS OF IT SO FAR.
AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE CONTINUALLY FOR APPROX. 30 MINUTES, THERE IS A LULL IN GEAR SWITCHING FROM STATIONARY TO ACCELERATED MOTION. UPON CONTINUED DRIVING, THE PROBLEM INCREASES AND CAR SHAKES, JERKS AND FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO EXPLODE. CAR WAS PURCHASED LESS THAN 1 MONTH AGO WITH APPROX. 37,500 MI. IT NOW HAS APPROX. 37,600 MILES. CAR WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP TODAY AND AFTER DIAGNOSTICS SCREENING, I WAS TOLD TO BRING CAR BACK NEXT MONDAY AND THEY WOULD REPLACE BOTH TRANSMISSION CLUTCHES. I WENT ONLINE THIS EVENING TO RESEARCH THE FORD FOCUS TRANSMISSION AND FOUND ARTICLES TELLING ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH THE 2018 MODELS. ARTICLES TELL OF SUDDEN ACCELERATIONS THAT LEAD TO ACCIDENTS. I AM TERRIFIED TO GET BEHIND THE WHEEL OF MY CAR NOW.
I APPROACHED A STOP SIGN, AND LOST COMPLETE POWER, COULDN'T EVEN MOVE IT OUT OF GEAR, TRIED TO JUMP IT AND NOTHING. I COULD'VE WRECKED BECAUSE OF THIS
I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A OBD READING AND IT CAME BACK A FAULTY PURGE VALVE OR UNABLE TO BLEED UP FUEL TANK VACUUM. TAKE IT TO FORD AND THEY SAID THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY CAR. WHEN LOOKING UP MY VIN THERE IS NON RIGHT NOW, I CLEARLY HAVE STALLING ISSUES AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. I WOULD LIKE GET A RECALL ON IT BECAUSE 1.6 MILLION PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES.
THE 2018 FORD FOCUS HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP FOUR TIMES FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT RELATING TO THE VAPER/VACUUM HOSE, SENSOR OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. IN ADDITION, THE FOCUS NOW HAS A BROKEN STEERING GEAR. I WAS DRIVING ON THE CITY STREET WHEN IT WENT OUT, AND THANKFULLY NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE NEAR.
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PROVIDED WITH MY VEHICLE IS NOT AS DESCRIBED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL. MY TRANSMISSION IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE THE ABILITY FOR THE DRIVER TO "MANUALLY" SHIFT THROUGH THE 6 SPEEDS!? SHIFTING IS NOT AUTOMATIC AS DESCRIBED BECAUSE IT REQUIRES YOU TO LET UP ON THE ACCELERATOR TO SHIFT FROM A LOWER GEAR. WHEN IT TOOK MY VEHICLE TO MULTIPLE FORD DEALERS WITH THIS CONCERN, I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY COULD NOT PERFORM ANY WORK ON THE TRANSMISSION UNTIL THE VEHICLE REACHED 10,000 MILES (4900 MILES TO GO!). THEREFORE I AM STUCK WITH A DANGEROUS CAR THAT SHIFTS WHEN IT WANTS TO AND LEAVES ME VULNERABLE TO CRASHES IN EVERYDAY TRAFFIC AS I CANNOT DEPEND ON ACCELERATION THAT I MAY NEED TO AVOID A DANGEROUS SITUATION. WHEN REPORTED TO FORD CUSTOMER CARE, MULTIPLE TIMES, I WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALER AND I AM STUCK IN THE MIDDLE WITH NO ONE LISTENING OR ADDRESSING MY CONCERNS!?
WHEN CHANGING GEARS THE CLUTCH IS SHAKING THE CAR AND MAKING A GRINDING NOISE. IT APPEARS TO CREATING PROBLEM ON THE LOWER GEARS SUCH AS GEAR 1 AND 2
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE SPUTTERED WHILE ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MAXWELL FORD (5000 S IH 35 FRONTAGE RD, AUSTIN, TX 78745, (512) 443-5000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PURGE VALVE FAILED. THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED AT THE COST OF $425. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED AS TO WHY HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE UNKNOWN RECALL. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED TO KEEP THE REPAIR PAPERWORK IN CASE OF A FUTURE RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,839.
MY VEHICLE IS A 2018 FORD FOCUS ST AND HAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT INDICATES THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS CANISTER PURGE VALVE TO BE STUCK OPEN WHICH COULD CAUSE THE FUEL TANK TO DEFORM. I EXPERIENCE ENGINE HESITATION AND ALMOST STALLING IMMEDIATELY UPON START-UP AFTER REFILLING FUEL. THIS ISSUE IS ADDRESSED IN AN EXISTING RECALL (18S32) FOR CERTAIN 2012-2018 FORD FOCUS. HOWEVER, MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE LIST OF CARS THAT ARE AFFECTED AND AS A RESULT, FORD REFUSES TO COVER THE REPAIR EXPENSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER 25 MINUTES. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED, BUT COOLED DOWN ONCE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS RELEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GILLIE HYDE AUTO GROUP (610A HAPPY VALLEY RD, GLASGOW, KY 42141, (888) 621-5047) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
THE TRANSMISSION LUGS OR SLIPS WHEN GOING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. IT WILL EVENTUALLY GO AND SEEMS TO BE FINE ONCE I AM OVER 25 MILES PER HOUR. IT STARTED ABOUT 4 WEEKS AGO AND SEEMS TO BE MORE FREQUENT. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS ABOUT 30,000 MILES ON IT. IT GETS REGULAR OIL CHANGES AND IS NOT DRIVEN ROUGHLY.
WHILE SITTING AT A LIGHT OR CORNER AFTER A STOP THE CAR SHAKES & BOUNCES UNTIL I MOVE AGAIN, ONLY 15000 MILES ON IT. I AM THE ONLY DRIVER.
I HAVE TESTED THIS MANY TIMES, AND YIELDED THE SAME RESULT. WHEN THE DRIVERS SEATBELT IS UNBUCKLED WHILST IN MOTION, THERE IS NO LIGHT OR AUDIBLE ALARM UNTIL YOU COME TO A FULL AND COMPLETE STOP.
THE ENGINE STALLED ONCE ON AUGUST 20TH, 2019 WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. EACH TIME THAT I FILL THE TANK WITH FUEL I HAVE TO TRY 2-3 TIMES TO START ENGINE AS IT MAKES A NOISE AS IF I'M COMPLETELY OUT OF FUEL THOUGH IT'S A FULL TANK AND I'M STILL AT THE PUMP. FORD DEALERSHIP STATED TO ME THIS IS "NORMAL" FOR ALL CARS THOUGH I'VE NEVER DEALT WITH THIS AND AT 39 I'VE HAD SEVERAL CARS.
BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AUGUST 2018 FROM PRINCE FREDERICK FORD EVER SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THE CAR MAKING A VIBRATION GRINDING NOISE ALONG WITH A SHUDDER WHEN I LET OFF THE GAS THE CAR INCREASE SPEED CAUSING A SLAM ON THE BREAKS VEHICLE HESITATES AT TIMES WHEN INCREASING SPEED THIS VEHICLE SCARES ME SO MUCH HAVE BEEN TO DEALER 3 TIMES JUST TO SAY CAN'T DUPLICATE ISSUE WHICH IS A LIE I WOULD LOVE TO GO TO A NEW CAR BUT THE ROLLOVER AMOUNT IS INSANE AND DON'T WANNA DO THAT FOR A POS CAR I HAVE WRITTEN FORD BUT THEY SAY GO TO A DEALER WE HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT WHEN THEY DO THEY MAKE THE CRAPPY UNSAFE CAR NOT TO MENTION THE CAR DASH MAKES NOISES AND IT'S OVERALL A CHEAP VEHICLE THAT SHOULD NOT BE ON ROAD HIGHLY UNSAFE
WHILE SITTING AND MOVING SLOWING IN TRAFFIC, AT TIMES, THE VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY SURGE OR LURCH FORWARD , VERY JERKY ACELERATION FROM A STOP, THE CLUTCH WAS ALREADY REPLACED ONCE AND THIS VEHICLE HAS ONLY 61000 MILES! I HAD TO PURCHASE ANOTHER EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 100,000, WHEN THIS IS UP THEN WHAT DO I DO?
WE BOUGHT THE CAR ON JULY 13 2019WITH ONLY 7 MILE ON THE ODOMETER. WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF HAVING THE CAR IT BREAKS DOWN WHILE DRIVING IT AND HAD TO GET A FORD TO TOW IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY HAD IT 2 DAYS AND REPLACED THE SOMETHING IN THE TRANSMISSION AT THE TIME OF IT BREAKING CAR WOULD ONLY OPERATE IN REVERSE. DEALER SHIP FIXES THE CAR GIVE IT BACK LESS THAN TWO WEEKS LATER WHILE DRIVING TO PICK UP MY HUSBAY FROM WORK WAS STOPPED FOR TRAFFIC AND WHEN I STARTED TO ROLLED AHEAD AGAIN THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON WITH TRANSMISSON FAILURE AND AGAIN CAR WOULD ONLY DRIVE IN REVERSE. BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THIS TIM THEY HAD IT A WEEK AND REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH MOTOR AND GIVE IT BACK. THEY SAID IT SHOULD BE FINE NOW. WHILE DRIVING YESTERDAY TO PICK UP MY HUSBAND FROM WORK, THE CAR LUNGES FORWARD AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN THE ENGINE JUST REVS WHEN GIVEN CAR LUCKILY NO ONE WAS INFRONT OF ME WHEN IT JERKED FORWARD AND IT WAS STILL MOVING ENOUGH TO PULL IT OFF THE ROAD AND OUT OF TRAFFIC HOWEVER THE DRIVER BEHIND ME CURSED AT ME FOR DRIVING THAT LAST PART OF THE TIME ONLY AT 15 MILES PER HOUR. NOW WITHOUT A CAR ALL WEEKEND CAUSE THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS CLOSED AND THEY CANT ISSUE A LOANER CAR UNTIL THEY REOPEN ON MONDAY MORNING.
VEHICLE PURCHASED NEW FEB 2018, IN NOV 2018 WITH APPROX. 11K MILES, VEHICLE BEGAN SKIPPING ON ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION WITH GRINDING NOISES, DETERMINED THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, VEHICLE BEGAN HAVING THE SAME ISSUES IN APRIL 2019 WITH 18K MILES, CLUTCH REPLACEMENT NEEDED AGAIN, HAD TO WAIT 6 WEEKS, PART BACK ORDERED, FOR REPLACEMENT CLUTCH, REPLACED JUNE 2019, VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN IN AUG 9, 2019 WITH 21K MILES, DETERMINED THE CLUTCH NEEDS REPLACED AGAIN. NEXT AVAILABLE APPT WITH DEALERSHIP, LAST WEEK OF AUGUST, FIRST WEEK OF SEPT.
CAR STALLS
THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SKIPPING WHICH CAUSED A BELT TO BREAK INSIDE THE ENGINE AND THEN THE OIL PUMP WENT OUT. HAD AN OIL CHANGE AROUND JULY 1ST AND NOTHING WAS WRONG. FORD CLAIMS IT WAS MY FAULT BECAUSE I WAS OVER 2,000 MILES ON AN OIL CHANGE.
TAKATA RECALL. MY CAR IS ONLY 8 MONTHS OLD AND ALREADY HAS HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED. IT IS SHOWING SIGNS THAT MY 2014 DID FOR IT'S RECALL. IT IS ACTING LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL AND ACTUALLY STALLED ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY 17 JUST SOUTH OF MAYSVILLE NC WHILE I WAS DRIVING. MY 2014, CELLA FORD IN NEW BERN, NC KEPT SAYING IT WAS NOT UNDER RECALL UNTIL IT STALLED OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF A BRIDGE, ALMOST CAUSING HER TO GET REAR ENDED WITH MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTERS ON THE CAR.
MY CAR STARTED HAVING A CLUTCH SHUDDER BEFORE IT WAS A YEAR OLD. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FIRST TIME AND THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE ADAPTIVE LEARN FEATURE, AND RESET THE COMPUTER. IT WAS STILL DOINF IT AND I TOOK IT BACK WITHIN A WEEK. I WAS TOLD ITS A FORD CLUTCH PROBLEM, BUT UNTIL IT GETS BAD ENOUGH TO REGISTER IN THE COMPUTER I HAD TO KEEP DRIVING IT. THEN THE GEAR SHIFT CABLE BROKE, IT CAME OUT OF THE TRANSMITION AND HAD TO BE FIXED, AT THE SAME TIME I HAD THE CLUTCH RE-CHECKED AND IT FINALLY REGISTERED BAD IN THE COMPUTER AND WAS REPLACED. 1 WEEK AFTER GETTING THE CAR BACK IT STRTED OVERHEATING AND HAD TO GO BACK TO THE SHOP (8/7/19), I ALSO REALIZED WHILE DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE CAR HAD BURNT THROUGH AROUND 1/2 TANK OF FUELS IN A LITTLE OVER 60 MILES. I WAS TOLD THE COOLING FAN JUST STOPPED WORKING AND WAS REPLACED.
SEE ATTACHED LETTER. I HAVE COPIES OF ALL RECEIPTS, IF YOU NEED TO SEE THEM
CAR'S TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS OR JERKS AT VARIOUS TIMES LIKE ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. FRIGHTENED AND IRRITATED.
TRANSMISSION WOULD SHUDDER AND NOT ENGAGE 2ND GEAR. ACCELERATION WOLD BE BOGGED DOWN MAKING IT HARD TO PASS OTHER VEHICLES OR MERGE ON THE HIGHWAY. CLUTCH PACK REPLACED AT 39,991 MILES UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY.
TRANSMISSION VIBRATION INVOLVING DOUBLE CLUTCH @ SPEEDS 13 -18 MPH IN MOTION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOOSE CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND CRASH INTO A DITCH. DURING THE CRASH, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER LONG LEWIS FORD(2551 JOHN HAWKINS PKWY, HOOVER AL.) WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINED CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,043. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
TRANSMISSION CLUNKS AND SHUDDERS AT TIMES WHEN DRIVING. WHILE ENGINE RUNNING IN THE STOP POSITION, BRAKE PEDDLE GOES TO THE FLOOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 68 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION WENT INTO NEUTRAL WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THERE WAS NO ACCELERATION. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, WAITED A FEW MINUTES, AND THE VEHICLE STARTED NORMALLY. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE DID NOT ACCELERATE. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FOWLER FORD (3400 S SHERIDAN AVE, TULSA, OK, 74145) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH CLUTCHES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH TRANSMISSION SEALS THAT WERE INSTALLED INCORRECTLY FROM THE FACTORY. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER FOR THE THIRD TIME AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,200.
VEHICLE IS STALLING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. SOMETIMES WHEN I HIT GAS PEDAL IT DOES NOT WANT TO GO. THERE WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THIS BUT IT DIDN'T INCLUDE MY VEHICLE. WHEN IT STALL WAS WHEN I SIT AT A RED LIGHT.
CAR FEELS LIKE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO GIVE OUT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER A WEEK OR TWO AFTER AND MECHANIC SAID THAT'S JUST WHAT FOCUS ARE.
2018 FORD FOCUS SEL . VEHICLE HESITATES OR SHUDDERS WHEN TAKING OFF.
I HAVE A 2018 FORD FOCUS SE THAT IS LESS THEN A YEAR OLD AND IT BOGS DOWN, ACTS LIKE ITS GOING TO STALL OUT AND DOESN'T GET THE GAS MILEAGE IT'S SUPPOSE TOO. IT BOGS DOWN WHEN I AM DRIVING IT AND WHEN DRIVING IT WILL SPIT AND SPUTTER LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL OUT ON ME THEN SNAPS OUT OF IT. FORD KEEPS TELLING ME THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT.
WHEN TAKING YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS AND DEPRESSING THE CLUTCH TO SHIFT THE ENGINE RPMS WILL REMAIN FOR 7 TO 10 SECONDS BEFORE FALLING AND ALLOWING YOU TO ENGAGE THE NEXT GEAR. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS UNDER THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES THE ENGINE WILL REV APPROXIMATELY 1,000 RPMS HIGHER AND REMAIN FOR 7 TO 10 SECONDS BEFORE FALLING. THIS ALL HAPPENS WITH NO INPUT ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY. IT ALSO SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS HIGHER. THIS HAPPENS ONLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS (MANUAL TRANSMISSION).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO HESITATE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER BOB DAVIDSON FORD LINCOLN LOCATED AT 1845 E JOPPA RD, BALTIMORE, MD 21234, (410) 661-6400, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE PART NOT BEING AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,500.
TRANSMISSION SHUDDERING, HESITATING, VERY ROCKY AND DOES NOT SHIFT NICELY. DRIVES LIE IT'S A MANUAL CAR; JERKS AND SHIFTS HARD. WHEN TAKING OFF CAR HESITATES AS THOUGH IT COULD STALL . BROUGHT IT IN TO BE SERVICED AT DEALER AND SERVICE EMPLOYEE PERFORMED WHAT HE EXPLAINED TO BE A SHUTTER TEST. I WAS ADVISED THAT IT DID NOT COMPLETELY FAIL THE TEST AND TO EXPECT IT TO GET SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE WITHIN THE NEXT TEN THOUSAND LMAO. CAR IS ONE YEAR OLD WITH 28,000 KM. TRANSMISSION SEEMS BUGGY AND UNRELIABLE . AFRAID THIS NEW CAR WILL LEAVE ME STRANDED ALONGSIDE THE ROAD. LOST ALL FAITH IN FORD FOCUS. IT IS RIDICULOUS THIS HAS NOT VERB RECALLED OR BOUGHT BACK TO FIX. I HAVE MADE MANY COMPLAINTS TO THE DEALER AND WAS TURNED AWAY AND TOLD THIS IS COMPLETELY NORMAL FOR THIS TRANSMISSION. I WAS TOLD IT WAS DESIGNED TO DRIVE LIKE IT'S A MANUAL CAR. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE. SERVICE CENTRE ALSO PERFORMED WHAT THEY CALLED A PC UPDATE. DID NOT PROVIDE ME WITH ANY PAPER WORK IN REGARDS TO SERVICE OR WORK DONE . HATE THIS CAR
FORD FOCUS, HESITATING WHEN DRIVING, ENGINE STOPPED WHILE DRIVING AND THE ENGINE RESTARTED.OVER PERIOD OF TIME, HEARD STRANGE NOISES LIKE A LOUD BOOM WHILE DRIVING. HAPPENS ONLY WHEN GAS LEVEL IS AROUND HALF TANK. DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE VIN.CUT OFF HAPPENED AFTER MAKING A TURN ALSO THE BOOM NOISE. HESITATION USUALLY ON SLIGHT UPHILL. DEALER SAID THEY WILL CHECK WITH FORD COMPANY ABOUT THIS. I'M ACTUALLY AFRAID TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE, IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AFTER DECREASING SPEED IT SHOOTS UP IN RPM AND WILL BARELY MOVE UNTIL I LET GO OF GAS AND ALLOW IT SOME TIME. IT'S AS IF I'M REVVING MY ENGINE WITH THE THE BRAKE APPLIED. ITS SLOWLY GETTING WORSE. I'M UP TO DATE ON ALL MY MAINTENANCE AND THE CAR IS AT APPROX 17500 MILES. I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW IN AUGUST.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STOPPED AND SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CROWN FORD (256 SWAIN STREET, FAYETTEVILLE, NC 28303) WHERE IT WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS-17722233. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
2018 FORD FOCUS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLES BRAKING SYSTEM. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE NEEDED A MAJOR BRAKING SYSTEM REPLACEMENT. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE OWNER RESIDING NEAR AN OCEAN. THE CONSUMER OWNED MULTIPLE VEHICLE'S IN THE SAME ENVIRONMENT THAT DID NOT EXPERIENCE A SIMILAR. *JS
A DRIVER RAN A RED LIGHT AND THE NOSE OF MY CAR DIRECTLY IMPACTED THEIR SIDE AT APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH AND MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS A 2018 HONDA CIVIC AND THEIR SIDE BAGS DEPLOYED. EVEN THE POLICE OFFICERS WERE SHOCKED MINE DID NOT DEPLOY. I THINK WITH THE IMPACT OF THAT CALIBER THEY SHOULD HAVE GONE OFF
UNCONTROLLED ENGINE SPEED INCREASE. WHEN DEPRESSING THE CLUTCH AND TAKING MY FOOT OFF THE GAS TO SHIFT, THE ENGINE RPM INCREASED FROM APPROX. 2500 TO 4000 RPM. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER THE CAR HAS WARMED UP. THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED SHIFTING FROM 3 TO 4TH AND 4TH TO 5TH. AFTER THIS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES, I CAPTURED THE ISSUE ON VIDEO WHILE MY SON WAS DRIVING.
2018 FORD FOCUS SE SEDAN RECALLS. I RECENTLY GOT A 2018 FORD FOCUS SE SEDAN IN NOVEMBER OF 2018. IT PERIODICALLY HESITATES WHEN I ACCELERATE AND I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING THE OTHER DAY ON MY WAY HOME AND NOT ONLY DID IT HESITATE WHEN I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE ON A 30 MPH STREET BUT IT ALSO BEGAN TO SLIP AND DID NOT WANT TO MOVE FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDA WHEN I WAS PRESSING ON THE GAS, IT WAS BEGINNING TO SLOW DOWN INSTEAD OF MAINTAINING THE SPEED IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN WHEN I WAS PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. I WAS ON A CITY STREET WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN OCTOBER OF 2018. THE TRANSMISSION HAS STARTED TO FAIL, WITH SHUDDERING, STALLING AND JUMPING AT ACCELARATIONS. THIS IS THE SECOND FOCUS MODEL THAT I HAVE HAD DIFFICULTIES WITH.
STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND WOULD NOT TURN. VEHICLE WOULD GO INTO ALL GEARS AND COULD BE DRIVEN FORWARD AND BACKWARD. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVE AT THE TIME. FORD DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY.
THE FUEL SYSTEM
THE 2018 FORD FOCUS TI STARTED TO GIVE ME PROBLEMS WHEN BRAKING AND ACCELERATING, THE FIST WAS WHEN TAKING OFF AT A STOP LIGHT, THE FOCUS ACCELERATED MORE WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND BRAKING TO A CAR IN FRONT OF ME, IT WAS LIKE I WAS HITTING GAS PEDAL AND BRAKE AT THE SAME TIME. AFTER THAT ON THE SAME DAY I WAS DRIVING UP A HILL AND IT WAS ACCELERATING WITH OUT PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL I HIT THE BRAKES AGAIN AND IT FINALLY STOPPED, WHEN I GOT TO MY DESTINATION I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND AGAIN PRESS THE BRAKE IT REVVED UP TO 3000 RPMS AND DID NOT STOP UNTIL I PRESS THE RUN/STOP BUTTON. THE NEXT DAY I WAS DRIVING AND DID A HARD STOP IT ABOUT STALLED WITH RPMS GOING DOWN TO 400 AND FLUCTUATING UP TO 1200 RPMS, WITH ALL THIS WAS GOING ON MY BRAKES FELT SOFT THEN HARD, THE TRANSMISSION ALSO CLICKED TWO TIMES WHEN HARD STOPPING.
THE HORN GOES OFF AFTER THE CAR IS LOCKED WITH THE KEY FOB. NO KNOWN WAY TO STOP IT.
MY 2018 FORD FOCUS ST IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS THE CURRENT CAMPAIGN 18V735. ON OCCASION THE VEHICLE DIPS DOWN ON RPMS AS IF ITS GOING TO STALL ON START UP. ITS NOT RECORDED AS CURRENT RECALL ON MY VIN BUT I BELIEVE THE SAME ISSUE IS OCCURRING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS AND SHIFTING GEARS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WOULD BECOME STUCK. ALSO, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS STUCK AND THE ENGINE REVVED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED LOVELAND FORD (999 E EISENHOWER BLVD, LOVELAND, CO 80537, (970) 744-7101) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE BOOKED FOR SERVICE UNTIL DECEMBER 6, 2018. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,500.
THE STEERING STARTED MAKING A GRINDING NOISE AND THE VEHICLE BECAME HARD TO STEER. AFTER PARKING THE CAR AND COMING BACK TO IT AFTER A MEETING IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO STEER THE CAR AND IT WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THE CAR ONLY HAD 55248 MILES ON IT. DIAGNOSED AS THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY.THE STEERING SHOULD NOT FAIL MAKING THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE, ESPECIALLY WITH LOW MILEAGE. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST QUALITY ISSUE WITH THIS CAR TO AFFECT ITS DRIVABILITY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING, THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO PROVIDE AN ACCURATE READING. OCCASIONALLY, THE VEHICLE ALSO FAILED TO START. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,333.
I WAS DRIVING NORMALLY AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN WITH NO WARNING (LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT OFF) THEN CAME BACK UP. NOT LONG AFTER THIS, I CAME ACROSS AN ARTICLE THAT SUGGESTED A CURRENT RECALL COULD BE TO BLAME FOR THIS BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. IT SHOULD BE. (DATE OF OCCURRENCE IS APPROXIMATE.)
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND CRACKING NOISES WERE HEARD FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOB RUTH FORD (877-818-1593, LOCATED AT 700 N U.S. 15, DILLSBURG, PA 17019) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HE NEEDED TO JUST GET USED TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO GO TO ANOTHER DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HOFFMAN FORD (717-657-1600, LOCATED AT 5200 JONESTOWN RD, HARRISBURG, PA 17112) WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS RECOMMENDED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD COVER THE DIAGNOSTIC COST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200.
THE VEHICLE FAILS TO ACHIEVE MORE THAN 25 MPG ON A FULL 12 GALLON FUEL TANK WITH 100% GASOLINE. THERE IS A GASOLINE ODOR AT TIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF AFTER BEING DRIVEN FOR MULTIPLE HOURS. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A 1 LITER ECOBOOST MOTOR THAT WAS PURCHASED NEW WITH 3K MILES ON IT. THE CURRENT ODOMETER READING IS 12,600. ON OCTOBER 21ST, 2018 I ACHIEVED 19 MPG ON A FULL TANK OF GASOLINE.
A FEW WEEKS AFTER I HAD GOTTEN MY CAR ON MAY 12TH 2018 I NOTICED GRINDING, JERKING, FELT ALMOST AS IF IT WERE TRYONG TO STALL AND THAT THERE WAS ALOT OF PLAY IN THE TRANSMISSION WHEN ROTATING TIRES, I TOOK THE CAR TO THE WLFORD DEALERSHIP IN SIKESTON MISSOURI THEY CLAIM THAT THEY DIDNT NOT HEAR, SEE, OR FEEL ANYTHING. BUT DID NOT PUT THE CAR ON THE RACK OR ANYTHING THEY JUST DROVE IT AROUND THE BLOCK. THEY THREW A FIT ABOUT GIVING ME A LOANER AND WERE DOING THERE BEST TO PREVENT ANY WORK BEING DONE ON THE CAR. THEY CLAIM THAT THIS WAS NORMAL I DONE SOME RESEARCH AND OTHERS HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS POS POWERSHIFT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WELL ITS NOW 4 MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CAR IS ONLY GETTING WORSE IT IS JERKING BAD, GRINDING, CLINKING, CLACKING, POOR THROTTLE RESPONSE, BARELY ABLE TO GET UP A HILL, THE WHOLSE TRANSMISSION IS SH*T. THESE CARS ARE MAD CHEAP AND SOLD AT AN OVERPRICED AMOUNT, I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANYTHING FROM FORD AGAIN. BUT FOR HOW MUCH I PAID, THERE WILL BE A NEW TRANSMISSION OR SOMEONE GIVING A NEW CAR IF THIS SH*T KEEPS UP. 2018 FORD FOCUS WORST POS ON THIS PLANET DO NOT BUY IT. WHO WAS THE DUMB*SS TO EVEN THINK THAT A COUPLE OF SOLENOIDS AND A COMPUTER COULD CONTROL A MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN AN AUTOMATIC GEARBOX???? ITS NOT POWERSHIFT EITHER CAUSE THIS CAR HAS NO POWER WHATSOEVER IT FEELS LIKE IT HAS 50HP AND 2LBS TQ. 3RD GEAR IS THE ONLY GET UP AND GO GEAR ALL THE OTHER ONES ARE SLUGGISH AN YOU HAVE TO PUT THE PEDAL ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR JUST TO GO ANYWHERE.
I'M UNSURE IF MY VEHICLE HAS THE DEFECTIVE TAKATA INFLATORS: MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, UNDER POWER AND TRAVELING GREATER THEN 32 MPH EXITING A HIGHWAY ONTO A CITY STREET. WHILE TURNING LEFT, I EITHER TURNED TO WIDE OR THE OTHER VEHICLE TURNED TO CLOSE AND MY DRIVER SIDE FRONT QTR IMPACTED THE PASSENGER FRONT QTR OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. THE IMPACT ENERGY WAS SO SIGNIFICANT THAT THE DAMAGE WAS ON THE LEFT FRONT QTR, THE FRONT AND IT TRANSFERRED THROUGH THE VEHICLE AND MY PASSENGER SIDE LOOKS MORE DAMAGED THEN THE DRIVERS SIDE. SO MUCH SO THAT THE PASSENGER DOOR WOOD NOT OPEN. I HIT MY HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL, WAS VIOLENTLY THRASHED AROUND IN THE VEHICLE AND THEN HIT MY HEAD ON THE DRIVER WINDOW. THE IMPACT WAS SO SIGNIFICANT THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED, THE ENGINE BROKE FREE FROM ITS MOUNTS, THE COOLING SYSTEM FAILED AND EVEN MY TITANIUM GLASSES WERE BROKEN WHEN I HIT MY HEAD. YET, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY 4197 MILES ON IT - BRAND NEW!!! I'VE CONTACTED FORD, FILED A CLAIM AND THEY WERE NEARLY USELESS IN HELPING WITH EVALUATING THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT FAILURE. THEY EVEN CONNECTED ME TO DEALERSHIPS TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO, ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TECHNICIANS, TOWING OR EVEN A BODY SHOP. I'VE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES AND RESTATED THE CONCERNS AND SPOKE TO A COUPLE OF CALL CENTER PEOPLE WITHOUT ANY HELP AND EVEN TRIED THE ONLINE CHAT TOOL AND IT KEEP FREEZING UP. THE VEHICLE IS A TOTAL LOST, I HAVE HEAD, NECK AND TISSUE TRAUMA. I'VE EXPLAINED THIS TO THE CALL CENTER AND THEY BASICALLY HAVE BEEN UNHELPFUL....I HAVE NEARLY 30 YEARS IN AUTOMOTIVE AND THE BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED AND KEEP ME FROM INJURY!!!
HIT SOMEONE DUE TO NO BRAKES. THEN LATER WHEN TRYING TO STILL HEAR AIR IN BRAKES WAS GOING 10 MPH
CLUTCH PEDAL STUCK TO THE FLOOR INTERMITTENTLY (2X IN 1600 MILES)
EXPLODING SUNROOF - TRAVELING SOUTH ON I-5 AT A SPEED OF 60MPH IN TACOMA TODAY (7/5/2018) IN MY BRAND NEW 6 MONTH OLD 2018 FOCUS RS AND JUST PASSED 56TH STREET EXIT. SUDDENLY WITH WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT, THE SUNROOF EXPLODED AND I WAS COVERED WITH GLASS AS THE SUNROOF COVER WAS OPEN. FORTUNATELY I HAD A HAT ON OTHERWISE THE VERY SMALL SHARDS MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN INTO MY HAIR, EYES AND FACE. PULLED OF THE HIGHWAY AND TOOK A COUPLE PICTURES. THE DAMAGES FROM THE EXPLODING GLASS CAUSED ADDITIONAL DAMAGES TO THE ROOF AND WING OF THE CAR. THIS IS CURRENTLY ESTIMATED AT OVER $2600 IN DAMAGES. NOT TO MENTION THE CLEAN UP THE THE INTERIOR CAR WILL NEED. THANK GOD MY KIDS WEREN'T IN THE BACK SEAT AS THEY WOULD HAVE GOT THE BRUNT OF THE GLASS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER WAS LEAKING INTO THE TRUNK AND ONTO THE FLOOR IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE REAR SEAT BELT BOLTS DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIDDLETOWN FORD (1750 NORTH VERITY PARKWAY, MIDDLETOWN, OH 45042) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WELL TO THE FRAME WAS MISSING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE SEAT BELT FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,930.
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2018 FORD FOCUS FROM ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE LOST BRAKING ABILITY AND STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR AND NOT DIAGNOSED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. *TT VIN NOT AVAILABLE. CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES WOULD NOT GRAB. CAR JUST KEPT MOVING BECAUSE CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, THERE WAS A MINOR DAMAGE TO BOTH CARS. UPDATED 9/26/18*JB
BOTH OF THE REAR SIDE WINDOWS HAD MOULDING THAT WAS LOOSE, THE FIRST TECH AT SCHICKER FORD SAID THAT THEY WERE ALL LIKE THAT, THE NEXT DAY I WENT BACK AND TALKED TO ANOTHER TECH WHO GAVE ME THE SAME ANSWER. I SENT PHOTOS OF THE LOOSE MOLDING, THEN THE TECH SAID HE WOULD HAVE TO GET FORDS APPROVAL BEFORE IT COULD BE REPLACED. AFTER ABOUT A WEEK FORD GAVE APPROVAL TO REPLACE THEM. THE TECH. SAID THAT FORD WOULD NOT AUTHORIZE FOR A LOANER TO BE PROVIDED TO ME, SO I HAD TO WAIT THREE HOURS BEFORE THE JOB WAS COMPLETED. THIS IS A 2018 FORD FOCUS SE.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN EVEN MILD WIND OR TURBULENT AIR FROM TRAFFIC THE CAR HAS A LOSS OF STABILITY. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN WINTER AND AS SOON AS CONDITIONS IMPROVED FOR HIGHWAY SPEED TO RESUME WE FOUND OUT.WE DO NOT FEEL THE CAR SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR HIGHWAY DRIVING. WHEN GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY INTERMITTENTLY A VIBRATION OCCURS AS WELL AS WHEN TRAVELING AT 50MPH OCCASIONALLY FEELING A DRIVE LINE VIBRATION FEELS LIKE IT COMES FROM THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL. SO FAR THE CAR HAS BEEN TO 2 DEALERS AND THEY BOTH ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUES AND THEN SAY THAT THIS IS PROPER THAT WHEN DRIVING A NEW FOCUS FROM THEIR LOTS THEY ARE THE SAME.
FROM A COMPLETE STOP (DUE TO STOPPED TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY OR WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT), ACCELERATION CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO HESITATE, RAPIDLY INCREASE RPM, AND SHUDDER/SHAKE VIOLENTLY. HAPPENS ROUGHLY BETWEEN 0-35 MPH. THE ISSUE IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT, SO I'LL BE TAKING THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP. MILEAGE IS JUST UNDER 30K.
MY PERSONAL CAR HAD A BATTERY DIE - I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND I GOT IT TOWED- THE DEALERSHIP GAVE ME A RENTAL CAR FOR THE DAY - WHEN I STARTED TO WORK WITH THE RENTAL CAR I STARTED FEELING SICK WITHIN 15 MINUTES BUT KEPT DRIVING TO WORK - (A 45 MINUTE RIDE) I WAS AT WORK FOR 15 MINUTES AND THEN HEADED TO AN APPOINTMENT- I GOT CONFUSED AND STARTED HALLUCINATING - I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD - FOR ABOUT 4 HOURS I WAS GOING IN AND OUT OF CONSCIOUSNESS- I WAS ROLLING MY WINDOWS UP AND DOWN BECAUSE I DIDN'T FEEL GOOD WHICH THE DOCTOR SAID THAT IS WHAT SAVED ME - FINALLY I GOT BACK IN THE CAR BECAUSE OF MY DAUGHTERS CONCERNS - I HAD TO STOP THE CAR AND STARTED VIOLENTLY THROWING UP BLOOD - AT THAT POINT MY DAUGHTER TOOK ME TO REDI MED - THEY THOUGHT I WAS HAVING A STROKE AND GOT ME TO THE HOSPITAL - WHEN I GOT TO THE HOSPITAL THEY TOOK BLOOD WORK AND HOOKED ME UP TO EKG AND THEN TOOK ME FOR A CATSCAN - MY BLOOD WORK CAME BACK WITH HIGH LEVELS OF CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING AND THEN I WAS ON OXYGEN FOR 2 1/2 DAYS - THIS WHOLE THING WAS A CRAZY EXPERIENCE
